Roger Stone and the Spitzer Scandal

Republican consultant Roger Stone — whom our friend Ben Smith describes as "the GOP trickster known, among other things, for an allegedly unorthodox sex life" — has taken a particularly schaudenfreudian relish in watching the political demise of former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer (D), writing that call girl and erstwhile "Girls Gone Wild" star Ashley Dupre shouldn’t be the only one to profit from the Eliot Mess.

At his Web site, Stone proposes book titles for Spitzer and his poor wife.

Stone’s glee is rooted in an ugly history with the former governor.

And the Miami Herald reports there’s even more to it than that.

On Nov. 19, an attorney for Stone sent a letter to the FBI alleging that Spitzer ”used the services of high-priced call girls” while in Florida, which Stone learned from ”a social contact in an adult-themed club.”

Ick.
