Bill Clinton to North Carolina: Don’t Let Them ‘Stomp Your Voice’
ABC News’ Sarah Amos reports: Bill Clinton ended a marathon day of campaigning with an argument to voters why his wife can still be the last Democratic candidate standing in this presidential election.
Standing on the front steps of the train station in Whiteville, N.C., the former president told the crowd that "she’s gonna end this thing roaring" if voters give her a victory in North Carolina.
"Just remember this, she got this far because of people like you," Clinton said. "And if you show up and you vote for her in big enough percentages and big enough numbers, she’ll go right on. And let me tell you something, last poll in Kentucky she was ahead 62 to 26. Last poll in West Virginia she was ahead two to one. She’s gonna end this thing roaring."
With the crowd energized, Clinton continued his thought, telling the crowd to not let other people decide the election for them.
"And what are they gonna say if she wins the popular vote? ‘I’m sorry, we are gonna give it to the caucus states that are going Republican in November?’" Clinton told the cheering crowd. "No. So all these people tell you she can’t win and that are rushin’ to get all the people to declare for it, to send it off, to cut you off, and stomp your voice — don’t you believe them. You are still in the driver seat."
It was a rousing ending to what some reporters felt was a never-ending, seven-event day. Clinton managed to fit baseball fields, barbecue, community centers, front porches and even the Gen. William C. Lee Airborne Museum into the trip — all the while assuring the voters of North Carolina that a victory in the state would bring Hillary Clinton one step closer to winning the Democratic nomination.

Obama Backs Off Birth Control Battle?
So some guy holds a rally. Why in the hell is ABC not talking about the trial underway right now involving a friend of Hillary’s? Why are they not talking about Hillary’s lack of resolve to remove Penn from her campaign giving that Obama let his guy go and he did far less! Why in the hell is no one talking about her comments about White working class voters? What about Hillary’s comment about Iran?!!! etc. etc. etc. WTF is going on here? She has skated for weeks without ANY coverage!…Mainstream media is full of s&*^. Thank goodness for blogs and other sites like politico… I AM DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE MEDIA.

Well we have to keep Hillary in the news somehow.
It’s not like this has anything with issues.
Fact remains even with Bill, Hillary and McCain campigning against Obama, he is still going to win.
Remeber Bill it was the Pledge Delegates you guys were conerned about a few weeks ago. Now it is popular vote.
Before that it wasn’t evenm tows but who is electable.

donewiththeclintons,
I agree with you. If one were to compare filth for filth of these two people side by side, Hillarys list would be LONNNGGGGGGGGG. And, there would be things on that list directly linked to HER!!!!!
Rezco and Wright is ALL they have on Obama, that’s sh*(. I’m not voting for either of them, I’m voting for the candidate. So, I couldn’t careless.
Wright is dead. The only ones that will still be talking about it are idiot Clinton supporters that don’t have anything else on him. It’s dead and they know it. But, they don’t have sh^% else to talk about.
Newsflash Clinton people, she is full of dirt – just look around and you will have something to talk about!!
The only reason she is doing better is she has help campaigning – mainly BUBBA Bill himself but Obama is alone.
Doesn’t matter b/c she STILL will not get the nomination, mark my words. If she does, she will f’ing LOSE.

My problem is this. Why must Hillary win by attacking Obama? This might answer the question as to why we keep putting people in office that we dislike. This is not a boxing match to see who can be the nastiest person. Clinton wins hands down! If this is the standard we want to judge our president by then don’t complain when we put yet another unwanted person in the White House. I will NEVER put a person in the White House who has a problem with the truth. I just had 8 years of that crap. I will vote for the better person and that is Obama.

There is an unwritten rule among the liberal media. Thou shalt not dig up dirt on the Clintons. It takes someone outside the main stream media to bring it up, investigate it, push it, etc, before the MSM will ‘pick up the story’ and report it as something that somebody else is reporting and talking about. There is such fear of the Clintons in the business. Bosniagate was a great case in point. the media knew she was lying, or at least in error, but no one in the liberal MSM wanted to pursue the story until conservative investigational journalists did the work. Even TV pundits hold back- no one ever talks directly about the Clintons baggage. Too risky, Obama has is work cut out for him, because he’s dealing with a stacked deck and a brutal adversary in Hillary.

In the landmark civil fraud case against Bill Clinton in Los Angeles, where the former President is charged with defrauding a Hollywood dot com millionaire to help Hillary Clinton obtain more than $1.2 million from him for her 2000 Senate campaign, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aurelio Munoz ruled on Friday, April 25 that Hillary Clinton would not be required to testify in a sworn deposition as a material witness in the case until AFTER the November election!
Equally surprising as the ruling was the judge’s request to Hillary defense lawyer David Kendall to “say hello to his ( Judge Munoz”) friend Bill, also a partner in Kendall’s law firm”

When people look at the real issues and who is best to solve problems, Hillary was and still is the best candidate. Obama’s constant soap opera with Wright hasn’t changed that. Bill Clinton is right in telling people not to get discouraged, they should still vote for the candidate who can make REAL change. By the way, Wright will never go away. Someone on Fox just pointed out what Wright said about coming after Obama if he is elected. What a tangled web he has weaved….

You tell ‘em, Bill! Obama, Howie “the scream” Dean, Kerry, Kennedy, and Pelosi all want to dictate to YOU, North Carolina and Indiana, who your democratic nominee will be. IT’S NOT THEIR DECISION!
Obama is NOT a victim. He knew exactly what Rev. Wright was preaching and he believes it. His wife, Michele believes it. Obama’s allegiance is to himself, not to America.
Rise Hillary, Rise!

Senator Clinton is the candidate with the leadership qualities and compassion for the people to unite our country and move it forward in a positive direction.
Senator Obama cannot win in the general election. A vote for Senator Obama is a vote for John McCain.
GO HILLARY!

No lies, just facts. I feel more comfortable with a candidate that has a voting track record that agrees with their position on issues during the campaign. We know where Senator Hillary Clinton stands on the issues.(Obama votes ‘present’ on many issues) She will protect American jobs and has shown her commitment to job protection by voting No to Nafta expansion (Obama voted to expand Nafta in October 2007)and has a plan to increase jobs. Her experience in helping with the peace process in Northern Ireland has resulted in a lasting peace there. Hillary’s healthcare plan will provide healthcare for all who want healthcare. Hillary supported getting the s-CHIP program for childrens healthcare into Pennsylvania, which is one of the few states with a children’s healthcare program. (There is not a similar s-CHIP healthcare plan for children in Illinois) She also voted against the partial birth abortion bill. (Obama voted for partial birth abortion and also voted against mandatory care for newborns.) Hillary attended US public schools and will work to improve education. Senator Clinton shares the core values of most Americans, which is why I feel that she will make a good president.

I say don’t give up and don’t step aside…We need her in the WH and despite the lopsided delegate system and ignoring FL and MI…it’s not over!
Hillary is talking to the voters…Obama is fighting with his old friend who he never heard until he dissed him…
Rezko is just around the corner…Keep fighting Hillary…We have your back!

Bill Clinton is responsible for the sale of Magnequench to China. Bill Clinton was president in 1995 when Magnequench was sold to China. As president, he had the right to prevent the sale.
Hillary Clinton is running an ad in Indiana (and ran ads in Pennsylvania) saying the sale of this company to China resulted in smart bomb technology being sold to China.
Does Hillary realize she is saying Bill committed treason?

Many of us that support Hillary, and blog often, we chose our gal because of substance, experience and the fact she has been vetted. We chose not to go with Obama, because of the Hope and Change theme. He has tried to act like he is the new politics, by doing what? Now all his associations are a true reflection on him. His ‘typical white’ comment and ‘bitter’, ‘clinging’ comments and so on and so on. It just validates how we feel about the phoniness of Obama. He is not electable.

Way to go Bill! The DNC does want to stomp our voices! They’ve been trying to stomp Hillary out since before NH. Remember Chris Matthews giving Hillary’s obituary before the polls even closed? The DNC (or ONC – Obama National Committee) needs to count the popular votes of MI and FL. The rules do not eliminate the popular votes, only the pledged delegates. And why in the world is Caroline Kennedy babysitting Michelle Obama’s interview with CNN? Michelle is not to be trusted to talk with the press on her own? Michelle needs a Kennedy next to her to keep her in line? Do we really need this in a first lady? Will Caroline Kennedy be first lady in waiting?

dANN: The Hillary supporters do have something on Obama. Where have you been. The public has it too. Why did Obama attend a racist church with a racist pastor for 20 years that was anti-american and a hater of white people if he wasn’t racial himself. And that question has been asked several times. Obama said he never heard the pastor say those words while he was sitting in the pew and it was on video. Give me a break. There probably is a lot of dirt on Obama yet that hasn’t come out outside of Ayers the man who set bombs three times and is a neighbor of Obama’s. Didn’t you know they went to dinner together? Good for George he let the public know and Obama deserves everthing that Wright said because he should have left that church after the first sermon.

Doug: You are absolutely right. There was no deficit when Bill Clinton was president and the economy was great. Obama could never bring this country back to where it was in those days because he doesn’t have enough intelligence to know what to do on day one. He is not as smart as Bill Clinton and never will be. He might act like he know politics but he lacks that experience and capabilities. What a mess this country would be in if he was elected president. It would go down in the gutter. Can you imagine his relatives from Kenya living in the white house along with guess who is coming to dinner, Ayers, Ayres, Farrakhan and Rezko.

obamaites,i hate to tell you this but there is a real possibility that obama could lose NC and if not he will narrowly win either way its a loss considering 33 percent of likely voters are AA.also she went toe to toe with billo tonight with grace charm and confidance and gave as good as she got.all of you obamaites talk about how he can reach out to republicans and yet hillary is the one that actually does it and gracefully wins the argument.

staniam — not to put a lot of weight on the latest poll from Insider Advantage, but it shows Hillary up in NC by 2 percentage points. Of course this is all in the margin of error, but that is an improvement from previous polling there. One of the more interesting parts of the poll was the number of AA who were undecided (~15%) in the latest wake of the Wright situation. Clinton was polling about 20% and Obama was at about 64%.

I am so disillusioned with the democratic party that always seems to pick candidates to the left of the mainstream public. Hillary would be a good candidate, but if the nomination goes to Barack, I will vote McCain. My vote is stronger than any words here, and the DNC does not care about moderate democrats like me anyway, nor does the media…I will do my speaking in November with my vote (nothing will change my mind) and not waste time with those who refuse to listen.

If there are any voters on this blog from Indiana or NC, please vote for Hillary. She is unquestionably the only hope Democrats have to win in the fall. All politicians come with a certain amount of baggage, but never in the history of a presidential campaign has the patriotism of a candidate been an issue. Think that just a year ago his church gave an award to Louis Farrachan. His pastor screams, “G D America.” To stay with Wright for 20 speaks volumes about Obama’s values, integrity, credibility, and judgment.
Please consider these things and vote for Hillary so we have a fighting chance to get a Democrat in office this fall.

Juanta from texas.
Texas WILL vote republican.
The fact that Hillary won the texas primary is amazing in its own right.
But with bush’s connections to the state, Mc Cain will take texas against either Obama or Clinton.
Just like 80% of all the states Obama has won .
Clinton will win Arkansas that Obama cant. Obama will win Colorado that Clinton cant. He can also win Iowa that clinton cant.
Ever since the wright story broke, Obama cannot win Missouri, but Clinton can.
Other than that, forget it. Obama is toast.

Obama lovers are so pathetic. I can;t believe people are so fanatic about this guy without him having a real record, without him been a real leader, all he has is a record in Illinois that is the record of a candidate for the Presidency. They are so desperate to bring someone different to the Clintons that they demonize anyone that oppose Obama, they are not worst that teh Republicans. Even if Hillary lose Obama will not win, how he will Approach Hillary or Bill Clinton to campaign for him or unify the party after all the hate his campaign has allowed to go against the Clintons.
Obama is a devised, ambitious man and his followers are following a person they don’t even know and bought into a caricature sold by the media. Shame!
I have been a Democrat all my life and first time I voted was for Bill Clinton and never never regretted that vote. This time I will vote McCain, at least I know what I get and I wont let the media or the corrupt machines in Chicago and DC buy my vote!

tomdavie, just saw your post to juanita, tx. thanks! i read her post and was scrolling down so i could write the same thing.
i’m a texan, lifelong dem, and one thing i’m sure of is the obvious – texas will vote repub.
normally, i vote a straight dem ticket, even though my state is repub. this year, if obama’s the nominee, i’ll vote repub along with them.
so will all those caucus states the obamabots are so proud of mentioning.
either obamabots really don’t know anything about how elections work in this country or they’re pretending to believe the stuff they write. i’m not sure which is worse.

So Saddened.
We Clinton supporters have no delusions of whats REALLY going on.
The Obama posters are kids. They have no idea what is going on except what the media tells them and what they want to hear.
We Clinton supporters understand that us voters went out the window a long time ago. Since super tuesday, every contest has been a BEAUTY contest to suckhole to super delegates.
But WAIT. There is more.
There is also the added bonus of whats going on within the party. There is actually 2 parties.
-the liberal left . Kerry Kennedy and Pelosi. Dodd and other yes men like Richardson etc…….
- the conservative left – the Clinton base and all their supers.
So the fight for the nomination is Bill and Hillary Clinton vs Kerry, Kennedy and Pelosi using Obama as a SOCK PUPPET to get them control of the party.
So the super delegates are WARRING .
Will it matter if Obama is unelectable?
Kerry kennedy and Pelosi want more control of the party, and bet heavily that Obama would get them there.
If Obama is truely unelectable , then they will have no choice but to cave into the Clintons. But they wont LIKE it.
Obama does indeed look unelectable, but its only May 1st. He could technically repair himself because this election favors the democrats.
If it was any other election cycle, Obama would be totally unelectable at this point.
So if Obama can keep himself together, and win North Carolina by 10% and Oregon and just keep a low profile, I see a huge push by the liberals to take control of the party.
If he stumbles idiotically again, or Clinton wins north carolina, she is the nominee I suspect.
The real telling point is there is now a renewed interest in getting michigan and florida re seated. This is actually just an exuse to justify a Clinton nomination.
Posted by: tomdavie | May 1, 2008, 12:55 am 12:55 am
After reading most of the Obama posts here, it makes me recoil to know how vulgar and demeaning they all sound.
They just can’t accept the fact that most of Obama’s problems stem from the man himself! NOBODY created Rev. Wright’s persona, but Wright himself! That Obama chose to have this man be a central part of his life for 20 years is no one else’s choice but Obama’s himself!
So where’s the beef here? Because this all became public knowledge? Well, what do they expect? This is for the highest office in the US. This is not like voting for American Idol!
I’ve got news for you. Saros ain’t paying no more, so you all can take a break!
Posted by: BJ | May 1, 2008, 1:03 am 1:03 am
tomdavie, i think you’re correct about dean, pelosi, etc., as far as their true intention being a power grab by the extreme left part of the party.
sadly, i don’t think they actually care that he’s unelectable, as long as they get to take the reins. they seem to think that they can win, whether he does or not. i beg to differ.
however, you may be right about michigan and florida. if dean, pelosi, etc., think this whole mess is hurting THEM (they don’t care about the country), they’ll turn on a dime.
Posted by: so saddened | May 1, 2008, 1:03 am 1:03 am
I am anxiously awaiting the announcement where Dean, Brazile and the DNC Credentials Committee reinstate the delegates of MI and FL after coming to the realization that to win the GE, they need those states. Somebody better send a box of towels to Howard and his pals to wipe all of that egg off of their faces.
Posted by: LOM | May 1, 2008, 1:09 am 1:09 am
Howard dean has been sending mixed signals the entire time.
I think its because he is being TUGGED by Kennedy and Bill Clinton specifically . There is two warring factions that are pulling at him.
So sometimes he says stuff that is pro Obama, and sometimes pro Clinton.
He wants to count michigan and florida, but NOT towards the nominating process, which makes counting them useless . They get to go to the convention. So what?
The wild card in this is that Deans reputation is on the line. Not that he is in bed with Obama or Clinton.
He wants to include the 2 states, but at the same time stand his ground on the punishment.
lol.
The reality is that stripping ALL of the delegates instead of just 1/2 disenfranchised the states. It was too stupid for words.
Now he has to eat it. He should just buckle under and revote or award 1/2 the delegates.

LOM, — don’t forget the Daschle, Richardson and all the other ones that want to take control of the party. It’s all about control; the point is that all those people lost their elections!
They are destroying the Clinton legacy, once they are destroying the only Democrat that wont re-election in the last 40 years. They don’t care so long serve their own ambitions and they can elect a puppet like Obama.

Without a revote in MI and FL, neither campaign is going to come to an agreement. Obama’s campaign thinks it is simply unfair to award him the uncommitted delegates in MI because his name wasn’t on the ballot. Boo hoo. There were no rules stating that he had to. And quite frankly, 55% of the state pulled the lever for Clinton–she should get them. Giving him the 40% that fell in uncommitted is generous. There was a level playing field in Florida and again, the Obama camp needs to suck it up and accept the results. In not doing so, he is risking political suicide this Fall should he be the nominee.
We know what happened in the last two elections. I guess history can and will repeat itself.

The more I think about this the worse it gets.
White americans HATE ‘affirmative action’ . Whether we publically admit it or not.
To us, it seem like a free pass to the front of the line based on skin color. Quota system.
Many african american pundits claim that giving the nomination to Clinton would cause african americans to freak out -so they have to cave into it.
I even read an article on it this morning.
The problem is, Obama insulted blue collar average white americans with his bitter gate comments.
But worse, Obama could never win the blue collar vote.
There are FAR MORE blue collar whites in america , than there are african americans.
The republican 527s are going to swift boat Obama and the democrats as using ‘affirmative action’ to nominate Obama at the expense of chucking the average white american under the bus.
I dont think its going to play well for democrats in the fall.

Does anyone really believe Obama did not know what his pastor was really like? Give me a break–I am not falling for the drama and words of disownment (sorry press that was not courageous at all, only political). And, yes, WORDS DO COUNT Obama and I will hold you accountable for sitting in your church for 20 years and listening to the WORDS of your spiritual mentor Jeremiah Wright. Remember how you told everyone in a debate you were a Christian and not a Muslim and that you went to Trinity United Church of Christ?? You were outraged that anyone questioned your religion and now it turns out your church is so out there, you would have been better off being a Muslim–probably less radical than a Christian church that supports Farrakahn and is anti-Israel. I hate being this mean but this is the plain and simple truth. I do not feel sorry for you at all–your bad judgment created this whole situation and nothing and nobody else.

The liberal media will do EVERYTHING to spin for Obama and bury Wright.
But as soon as wright opens his YAP again, they are forced to cover the story again.
As soon as new info emerges, and it WILL , about Obama’s past, it will emerge again.
Like a broken record. Like a noose around his neck that he will not only NOT live down now, but will follow him around for his entire political career.
Just like Bill Clinton STILL cant live down Monica Lewinski. In fact, reporters HOUND Chelsea about it 10 years later-of all people.
Posted by: tomdavie | May 1, 2008, 1:56 am 1:56 am
That is some audacity to imply that “we” keep bringing up the Wright issue. Um, Wright did a pretty good job this past week bringing up the Wright issue. Obama has made his campaign about judgment, which he has executed pretty poorly on the subject of Wright. He has gone from *I wasn’t in church when he made those comments* to *I am pretty much divorcing the guy after 20 years*. Not a very likely story and no matter how you spin it, it’s a tough sell.

The real problem with the super delegates has to do with the voter database that Obama developed with one of the guys who started Facebook, who has been on the Obama campaign committee for the last year.
This database is said to be worth $200 million dollars … that is to say, it is Obama’s “personal” asset and by the end of this year, everyone will know about it, because he will have to pay taxes on it … I wonder if this will come out fully into the public view before the public is completely duped?
The database is made up of the 1.4 million people who registered with Obama’s website and/or a website affiliated with Obama’s. It contains demographics, personal information and preferences, which can be used to generate the same type of fundraising that Obama’s been enjoying through this primary process.
This has also made Obama a new megastar on the Washington powerbrokering scene since he personally owns the information on the database and can sell it to the highest bidder.
I suppose there will be people who think I am making all of this up, but I urge you all to check this out for its accuracy. I have tried posting the link inside my post numerous times, but if I do, the post doesn’t show up.
To check out the truth of this, go to The Bloomberg News website and search for “Obama’s `Gigantic’ Database May Make Him Party’s Power Broker” by Christopher Stern, published on April 29, 2008.
America needs campaign reform more desperately now than ever.

I was once a Hillary supporter. She portrayed herself as the inevitable candidate one year ago, and she absolutely looked like it. She had the name-recognition, the nepotistic connections, a huge war chest, and the backing of the Democratic elite. Unfortunately, she also had an arrogant sense of entitlement to the nomination. I then watched her fritter away her leads, go very nearly broke, and make outrageous poker-faced Bosnia-type lies. Meanwhile, a formerly obscure state lawmaker named Barack Obama out-worked and out-campaigned her in the days after Super Tuesday. Is this the type of campaign that should come from a woman who constantly trumpets her 35 years of experience? Is ineptitude on this scale supposed to make me feel confident that she would be a competent President of the United States? Overall, she has run her campaign with such epic incompetence that there is no way I could vote for her. She had everything at the beginning, and should have “closed the deal” right from the start, but is still losing. Why?

In all fairness, you forget to mention the entire liberal media went BANANAS the minuite he won Iowa.
He was always favored to win Iowa.
Ever since then she has fought an almost impossible war agaisnt an IMAGE , the media, and the entire african american community to boot.
Not to mention the insiders who want control of the party.
It is true that she had bet the farm that Obama would be knocked out by super tues. When he won Iowa, she should have sent her ground team out to the caucus states just in case.
She didnt.
But its not some NOBODY who beat her. Its a guy who stepped right into exactly what america was looking for, and was backed by a LOT of big ticket items himself.
John Kerry and Ted Kennedy -amongst others.
The only reason Hillary still is in the race is because she fired her top staff and fought like crazy .
Obama has also shot himself in the foot a few times. He has problems now that he didnt need to have if he had thought about it before he ran.
In the end. Obama is the man the super delegates want I suspect. I congratulate him. He ran an excellent campaign.
Hillary won every major primary. She fought tooth and nail. She fought way harder than anyone thought she would have to or was capable of.
She can still hold her head up high.

If Barack Obama was one half the campaigner that Bill and Hillary Clinton are, he’d have this thing sewn up.
He is not a man of the people. He wants to have the nomination handed to him by a committee. In Illinois, he’s used to having people’s names pulled off of ballots, so in fact, he’s just waiting for Coward Dean to do it for him here. The Republicans will persuade a tremendous number of voters who support Hillary to cross over even though the 527′s are already running scare health care ads here in Ohio. What they don’t tell you is that if Barack were the candidate, it’s not going to help you either.

I am so disgusted by the democratic party. I am cutting ties, changing my registration, and will not give them one red cent. They are actually going to nominate this guys whose baggage is worse than any candidate we’ve EVER run in the last several decades. The Wright thing, and a series of other mis-steps that makes his appeal among swing voters lacking, will be enough for the moderate McCain to pull this out. I guess these liberals don’t care, maybe it’s because their lives aren’t half as bad as ours are. Sometimes, I think the party is so inept. They’d rather go with this complete naive novice, rather than a smart woman. They’d rather lose to appease the african americans, but throw the loyal female voters under the bus with Wright. Well, we see this for what it is, and Hillary’s voters will not be there this fall. Good luck getting the kids out to vote for you in force, I hope they don’t oversleep… you are going to need every one of them.

I am for Hillary. But whats the point of watching her prove she is the better candidate when the super delegates are going to vote for Obama regardless.
I thought the whole point is that the super delegates could turn the race for Hillary.
The super delegates are NOT undecided. I have come to the conclusion it is a LIE.
There is no way Obama could be getting super delegates after his HORRENDUS month of April.
Its impossible if the superdelegate was honestly undecided.
Why would they stay undecided when he was WINNING 12 states in a row, but now ENDORSE him when he is LOSING on every front ????
Its BS. Its not possible.
Ergo, there are super delegates who will vote for Obama no matter what, and they need to come out of the closet and endorse him .
What is the point to continuing if the arguement Hillary is making doesnt make a differnce in the slightest???
How many super delegates are ACTUALLY undecided. As in are NOT commited to Obama?
This is what we the public, and folks who give to the Clinton campagin and STUMP for her on bloggs 24 hrs a day need to know.

I do find it funny, that everytime Obama makes a mistake, or has bad press, they trot out a SD. Staged. And did you see CNN last night play an Obamathon marathon of interviews with Michelle Obama. All I could think was, what she said about Hillary. That if she couldn’t keep her own house straight, how could she keep the white house straight. I will NEVER forget that nasty comment from one woman to another. NEVER.

if you go to MSNBC or CNN , its basically the ALL OBAMA NETWORK now. They arent even trying to hide it anymore on CNN.
I have never seen in my life such a BIASED and lopsided election cycle within the SAME party in the media.
The sad part is, Hillary clinton has over FIFTEEN MILLION VOTES . She has more than Obama if all are included. Even without them, she has almost as many as he does.
The saddest thing is, in spite of the fact the American Public is split right down the middle over them both….
The MEDIA has surely NOT treated them with the same respect.
the MEDIA does not treat them 50/50.
abc has done a good job overall at being fair. Far better than CNN and MSNBC .
But how can you treat someone who got 15million votes like crap ???? Its insulting the 15million voters who voted for her.

Tony
My guess is that the Obama nomination has been cooked up ever since Kennedy was ‘insulted’ (lol) that Bill Clinton called Obamas Iraq record a fairytale.
If you want to talk about smoke filled rooms, it looks apparent to me the nomination was already decided and all this SWEAT and determination that Hillary has gone thru is just for pure MOCKERY .
The super delegates DONT CARE if Obama is pathetic. He is GOING to be the nominee.
So why go thru all this BS ? The point is that the PUBLIC is starting to see this charade thru these stupid Obama endorsements that cant POSSIBLY be ‘undecideds’ who now all of a sudden want Obama.
He has done so poorly lately its impossible for a truely undecided superdelegate to pick Obama.
So its all been decided beforehand.
Stop the charade. The super delegates must come out if they are commited to Obama and have no intention of giving hillary a chance.

“Just remember this, she got this far because of people like you.”
Actually that sounds believable. Based on polls I’ve seen from North Carolina, I think its safe to say she got 150 delegates behind because of voters like this.

Tom – I think there’s growing credibility to the theory that Clinton’s campaign hasn’t been for nothing. If she can spoil the waters for Obama in ’08, she might be thinking her time will come in ’12.
I do think the combination of weakened Democrats and the unusual fact the Republicans actually will nominate a candidate independents like could lead to a GOP win in this election. But there’s more at stake – which candidate least jeapardizes the Democratic majorities in Congress. Clearly that’s Obama this time. We’ll worry about four years from now four years from now.
Posted by: Paul | May 1, 2008, 8:11 am 8:11 am
Oh, and Tom, the only reason you think Clinton had a chance these last few weeks is because of Clinton spin. You’re yet another victim of it.
As more reasoned people within the party have been saying since Virginia, there is almost no way the superdelegates are going against the grain of pledged delegates.
Even the Clinton camp acknowledged this months ago. The spin at that time was they had to be within 30 pledged delegates for the superdelegates to feel it was close enough to reverse that decision. That 30 number was from Wolfson, if I remember correctly. Anything bigger, and even he acknowledged it couldn’t happen without ripping the party apart.
But more recent spin failed to acknowledge that, and Clinton supporters who still buy that spin have been victimized at the cost of their expectations, time and campaign donations.
Posted by: Paul | May 1, 2008, 8:18 am 8:18 am
dear paul
you LEAVE OUT the part where the super delegates should have just SUPPORTED Obama .
They DIDNT. It is THEIR direct responsibility to ENDORSE Obama if they had no intention of endorsing Hillary.
Hillary has lived up to her end of the bargain.
She has turned the tables on Obama. The ONLY thing Obama can claim now is a delegate lead.
He LOST every major primary. He is wounded. He is screwing up left right and center. He is falling and Clinton is GAINING.
So why are there STILL all these super delegates supporting Obama?
Its IMPOSSIBLE if they were truely undecided.
And if they were decided, why did they not just come out and say so.
I demand that all the super delegates who have no intention of supporting Clinton to come out and say so.
Never mind the stupid mind games of leaking out slowly and WASTING tens of millions of dollars supporting Hillary.
If she has no chance to win, the super delegates have a responsibility to TELL HER AND ENDORSE OBAMA.
Its not Bill and Hillarys fault. Its the super delegates who are keeping QUIET.
Its not fair to Bill and Hillary and eveyrone donating to the Clinton campaign.
We could spend that money on our families and our stupid $4 gas.
Stop playing mind games. IF YOU WANT OBAMA, JUST ENDORSE THE CLOWN AND GROW UP.
There are 15mil americans who voted for Clinton and we deserve better than to have these super delegates keep quiet and leave us all hanging on a string when they have no intention of supporting her.
Lets see if she really has a chance.
ALL WHO WANT OBAMA, COME OUT AND SAY SO. GROW UP.
Posted by: tomdavie | May 1, 2008, 8:50 am 8:50 am
Tom – you’re assuming they (the Clintons) haven’t been told behind closed doors. I don’t know for a fact, but I have a strong guess they have been told.
This started after Virginia, when we started hearing signals from Pelosi and Dean. A couple weeks later, those same signals were being talked about by Richardson, and even Rendell (though carefully couched because of his obvious affinity towards Clinton).
This is why the theory started that Clinton knows she can’t win this time, but will try to run up Obama’s negatives so he loses in the general election.
Posted by: Paul | May 1, 2008, 8:56 am 8:56 am
Oh, and Tom, I read just yesterday that the lobbying of superdelegates has noticeably slowed in recent weeks.
A couple were quoted as saying that, unlike a time when they were getting daily e-mails and phone calls from the Clinton camp, they now haven’t heard a word in about two weeks.
This implies the courting attempts have ended, which implies everyone has a pretty good idea where each superdelegate is. I fully believe the Clintons have been told. The only problem is they aren’t passing that information on to their supporters.

BEWARE OF THE CHARADE++++++++++++++++
Either most of the “pundits” are stupid or they are in it. There are some prevailing questions in leading up to the “divorce” between the Rev and Sen Obama. After the painful PA lost, pundits have been saying that the Wright controversy is one of the reasons for the loss. That Sen Obama has to distance himself from the Rev to improve his poll rating among Democrats and Independents. But how??? So what happens is interesting. A week before the IN and NC primary, for UNEXPLAINED reason, the Rev resurfaces. For two days, he makes a string of appearances/speeches to defend himself and spew the same sermon he did in the pew.++++ This NOW gives Sen Obama a chance to condemn and “TOTALLY and “COMPLETELY” break his relationship from the Rev, something he failed to do in his first speech. Then Rev Wright now disappears and goes back in seclusion. Sen Obama now can put his controversial pastor behind him and have a clean break. This way, he can convince the electorate and more importantly the Superdelegates to throw their support to him. +++++++++The uneasiness in me keeps asking was it a real divorce or just a political charade???

Since President Bill Clinton left office; I miss him more than ever! I can’t think of anyone who can hold a candle to him in American politics! We need Clinots back for our contry’s sake. Bill Clinton left office leaving behind a 450 billion dollar surplus! What more proof do you need? We were prosperous, and well respected around the world. He accomplished all of that in spite of the Washington media’s daily attacks, and relentless hit jobs. Eight years after he left office we find ourselves surrounded by disasters that never seem to end and on a slippery slope of decline. A crisis– one sort of another– has become a daily occurrence, like living in a third world country. Now, the media is promoting and cheering for Sen. Obama. Just like they promoted Gov. Bush and Iraq war, remember? Sen. Obama’s primary success makes me feel another set of disasters are just around the corner. But electing Sen. Hillary Clinton as our next president is the only way to put an end to the decline of our country and promote prosperity and success here at home and stability throughout the world!

Dann: If you think Hillary will lose what do you think Obama will do. He is not a winner he is a loser. Didn’t he lose all the battleground states? Because they don’t want him as president and its deeper than that. Get a life. He stutters sometimes when he speaks and when asked questions he can’t answer fast enough. Did Harvard push him thru the gates to get rid of him? I think so. Maybe because he was a drug addict and heavy drinker and the nerve to admit it. But most of this generation of college students are doing the same thing. Many students have to drop out. Obama will never compare to Hillary or Bill Clinton because they have more knowledge than he ever will have and more experience in politics. That’s why Hamas and Al Qaeda want his as president they know all about him, he is east prey.

Mariann – “He is not a winner he is a loser. Didn’t he lose all the battleground states?”
Which battleground states do you mean?
Missouri is a battleground. He won. Virginia may well be a battleground this time. He won. Iowa might even be a battleground in ’08. He won. Wisconsin? He won. Illinois? He won (though granted that one has been more blue than purple lately). Washington? He won. Colorado? He won. Maine? He won.
Seems to me Obama would do okay in quite a few battleground states, and probably bring more states to battleground status than Clinton could.

Of course, my last post is just academic speculation. Its over.
Mariann, I suggest you take some time off from watching the campaign. Then when you’re ready, come back and make one of four choices. You can support the Democrat in the general election. You can support the Republican. You can support a third-party. Or if none of that suits you, the option is always there to ignore the whole thing and not get involved.

A former hillary Superdelegate says that a Vote for hillary at this point is a vote for McCain. He disagreed so much with her gas tax plan he switched candidates!

THE SPIN-MEISTER’S HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER
Everything a Clinton supporter needs to hear is just waiting to be said. These guys will paint McCain as the anti-Christ and her supporters will follow Obama like sheep move serially along their narrow paths.
That’s the way it is!

Louis, the gas tax pandering scheme (more specifically how Obama avoided the easy pandering here) was only half of the rationale cited by this particular superdelegate.
The other half was that for the race to continue as it has been running for the past several weeks would further weaken the Democratic Party, and he was urging other superdelegates to rally behind Obama now.

how about the Clintons’ campaign/supporters stomping? – nasty letter to Rep Pelosi, threats to distrupt the Convention, ’527′ attack ads against the other Democratic candidate, rewriting history (Nafta, Columbia Free Trade, race card…)? The Clintons know all about stomping – Since Hillary can’t win the race with integrity, she uses all the Rove tactics she can.

Senator Clinton is working non-stop for every vote. President Clinton is doing what he did in Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania….go after every vote for Senator Clinton. Senator Obama, on the other hand spends all of his time either defending or disowning his Pastor. The voters will once again decide who should be President.

Hey Louis the dude is from Indiana just like me & he may be a super delegate but he won’t sway voters here. He has no clout. People forgot all about him. He’s just looking for a job like Bill Richardson. Too bad they won’t get one.
Hoosiers for Hillary!

She is “Earth, wind and fire?” What does that mean?
Oh I see.
Earth can mean more than the planet. It also is a word for dirt. Yep, she’s dirty.
Wind, as in meaningless hot air? Yep, she’s that, too.
And fire – the universal command to shoot at the enemy. She loves the attack. But fire also could be her willingness to burn down the village out of spite when she doesn’t get her way. It works either way.
Yep, she’s earth, wind, and fire.

HP – I didn’t know you represented so many voters. Its true that if all Clinton supporters vote for McCain, then McCain wins.
The reverse is true, too, however. If Clinton were the nominee, and all Obama supporters were to vote for McCain…
So we have a problem.
But Clinton came into this contest unelectable, because of her high and persistent negatives. So we might as well take a shot with Obama.
Besides, even if the presidency is lost, which nominee would energize Republicans and repel independents more? Seems obvious to me that would be Clinton. And there’s other races to consider. Obama appears to be in a position to less jeapardize the congressional races.
Posted by: Paul | May 1, 2008, 12:37 pm 12:37 pm
Again, this is academic, as it will almost certainly be Obama.
Then if he goes on to lose to McCain, Clinton supporters will have the next four years to say, “I told you so,” and Obama supporters will have the next four years to blame Clinton.

Unfortunately you are wrong Paul. The Republicans have said they are not sure why she hasn’t playing the bipartisan over BO. They said that since she has been in the Senate she is the one that has worked hard for bipartisianship while BO has done nothing. You need to pay more attention to the facts.
Posted by: rockthebleachers | May 1, 2008, 12:41 pm 12:41 pm
The “facts?” You mean you’ve heard from every Republican, and all of them say Clinton isn’t partisan?
Huh, guess I’m confused.
But I do understand the “Reagan effect,” which you can Google easily enough. Basically it says if you go into a national election with negatives at 46 or lower, you’re golden. At 47, you’re okay. At 48, you’re in trouble.
This is conventional wisdom for political analysts. Its why 15 months ago people were already raising electability questions about Clinton, as her negatives were at 48.
Since that time, she’s elevated those numbers to above 50, and perhaps even more importantly, current polling suggests that 60 percent of the country thinks she’s dishonest. That’s pretty much a poster definition for unelectable.

HP – the best thing about Clinton harping on the Wright thing is that in a few months Democrats will be able to use that against Republicans:
“This is what the great GOP message machine has been reduced to using – Clinton talking points? Huh, we thought you guys were better than this.”
Posted by: Paul | May 1, 2008, 12:56 pm 12:56 pm
It hardly matters who gets what SD at this point, they are a waste of time.
OBAMA is unelectable.
The GE will not be won without the VOTERS!
The DNC is in a pickle, the votes will NEVER be there for OBAMA!
Women are the majority and we can read and turn on a TV!!
So the ignorant, unwashed, minions will be there for HILLARY! We have been duly educated!

Does anybody think the families of the 911 victims, or the rest of the nation ,should ignore those spiteful comments. Or support the one who brought them?
Posted by: livegap | May 1, 2008, 1:15 pm 1:15 pm
What about Obama’s children? What have they been taught and heard about white people and America. They went to that church ALL their lives.
Posted by: livegap | May 1, 2008, 1:19 pm 1:19 pm
My, my, my. Now the OB folks are all about “superdelegates,” those anti-democratic pawns of the past, who should never, ever overturn the will of the people.
You guys need to keep your stories straight. When Senator Clinton thumps OB in North Carolina and Indiana, I suppose a new political line will come up: voter suppression, unfair attacks, oh woe is me.
Give me a break. A new kind of politics? Sorry guys, the wrapping is coming off the product, and it ain’t pretty!

So Bill Clinton resorted to bandwagon propaganda to get a North Carolina crowd to vote for HRC. That’s a pretty good sign that he has no factual reason to give the good people of North Carolina why they should vote for HRC. I wonder why HRC’s own husband would not be able to provide a factual basis for voting for his wife. Could it be, perhaps, that there is no factual reason why they should vote for her? Or perhaps he was too busy to polish up the speech before giving it because he was discussing the Peter Paul case with his “advisers”.
Honestly, Bill and Hill could give a course on how to use propaganda during an election. The Clintons have tried all the propaganda techniques they can think of. Unfortunately for them, most people are pretty sick of these tactics by now.
First, they tried to bring out a bunch of Hollywood schmoozers to give their testimonials. But then the Slick and Hill figured out that most people think Hollywood folks are just a bunch of wonks, so the Clintons bagged that technique.
Then, they tried to transform Hillary into HillBo, the First Lady who would bravely fly into dangerous territory, dodging sniper fire as she went. But Slick and Hill found out that the media have a nasty habit of checking out stories for a thing call factual information, so they had to give up on that technique as well.
And we simply can’t forget how they tried to prop her up by making her competitor look like a traitor, a racist, and more. This technique is most often employed when a candidate has such high negatives themselves that their only hope is to make the other candidate look bad as well. While this technique has had a little traction, the Clintons found out that more people saw Old Bill as a racist than Obama.
And now, they’re trying the old bandwagon technique. “Well, shucks, ‘em folks down in Kentucky ‘r gonna vote fer my lovely wife who I jes’ luv so much. So I reckon’ you folks should vote fer her, too.”
I hope that other folks who will be running for office in the future are watching the Clinton campaign carefully because the education truly has been priceless.

All of you Hillabots keep saying that Obama is not electable. Question: Why is he winning the nomination? Why is her super delegate support switching to him? Oh, I guess some of us believe that he is! The supers will not hand her the nomination. It’s over. Let’s unite and stop the Clintons’ delusional foolishness.

Something tells me that the Obama folks may be just a little bit worried. They started out with a big hoopla, ignited the AA vote, courted the college campuses relentlessly, had the major cable news networks pumping up his image, all before the general population knew much about him. They have been working relentlessly for Hillary to get out, way before Ohio and Texas. Then came Pennsylvania. It is not over. If the caucus format really reflected the will of all the voters (it doesn’t), Hillary would already be the nominee. Let all the primaries be held, then let us look at it again. She is so much smarter, more knowledgeable, more experienced, and tougher than he is. Most people know that. Let the voices be heard!

If the democratic delegate count rule is same as republican rule by this time Hillary would have been the nominee
