Clinton Heckled For Obama Slam

ABC News’ Eloise Harper Reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton spoke to the American Manufacturing forum in Pittsburgh, Pa., Monday, saying she wanted to focus on solutions and the problems Americans are facing — but the New York senator did manage to squeeze in a slam towards her Democratic opponent Sen. Barack Obama.

Her remarks were received poorly by the audience and instead of eliciting applause, Clinton was jeered when she brought up the subject.

Watch the VIDEO HERE.

"I understand my opponent came this morning and spent a lot of his time attacking me," Clinton said to jeers from the crowd. "I know that many of you, like me, were disappointed, by recent remarks he made."

"No, no!" shouted some in the crowd, mildly heckling Clinton.

"I think it’s important that we give people the chance to really compare and contrast us you know, I am well aware that at a fundraiser in San Francisco he said some things that many people in Pennsylvania and beyond Pennsylvania have found offensive," Clinton said.

"He was explaining to a small group of his donors what people who live in small towns here in Pennsylvania are like. And why some of you aren’t voting for him. And instead of looking at himself, he blamed them. He said that they cling to religion and guns and dislike people who are different from them. Well I don’t believe that. I believe that people don’t cling to religion, they value their faith. You don’t cling to guns, you enjoy hunting or collecting or sports shooting. I don’t think he really gets it that people are looking for a president that stands up for you. And not looks down on you. And after seven years of Americans feeling invisible to this president, President Bush, it’s time that we level the playing field and begin acting like Americans again,” Clinton said to applause.

The rest of Clinton’s speech focused on jobs and the economy and China – which was very well received from this audience. Clinton unveiled her new name for what she calls the policies and practices of President Bush and John McCain – saying she has been “taking to calling them McBush.”

Clinton was challenged about her husband’s role in signing NAFTA into law by an audience member who said Bill Clinton promised he wouldn’t sign it and then he did. The man asked the senator how she could guarantee that they wouldn’t get "tricked again."

"Well as smart as my husband is, he does make mistakes,” Clinton responded, "what I will do is to tell our neighbors Canada and Mexico that we have to renegotiate NAFTA or we will pull out of NAFTA and I am on record having said that."

Clinton also offered a new attack against Obama, arguing he hasn’t made a decision on whether Bush should boycott the opening ceremonies of the Olympics and that is an indication that he will not be able to stand up to China when it comes to other issues.

“Now, I’m still waiting for my Democratic opponent to give us a clear answer on the Olympics, he says he is of two minds," Clinton argued. "Well, as a president you’ve got to be able to make up your mind and you’ve got to be able to stick with your decisions. And if you can’t stand up to China over an opening ceremony, how are you going to stand up to China when it comes to trade?”

If the latest poll is an indicator of more to come, Obama is in trouble. ARG poll for PA now predicts Clinton 57% Obama 37% per RCP latest polls.

Frankly, she deserves to be heckled on this issue. She is twisting words to try and attack Obama because it is do or die for this lady.
Her own husband has said the same thing on numerous occasions.

I am so sick of Obama’s demeaning, personal attacks on Senator Clinton, which are obviously misogynistic in origin. If he thinks she is acting like “Annie Oakley” what the hey-hey does he think HE is acting like? He is so sexist in some of his remarks that the Democratic Party should beware of pushing him on the voters of America. A lot of us are females.

“If the Chinese do not take steps to help stop the genocide in Darfur and to respect the dignity, security and human rights of the Tibetan people, then the president should boycott the opening ceremonies,” he said. “As I have communicated in public and to the president, it is past time for China to respect the human rights of the Tibetan people, to allow foreign journalists and diplomats access to the region, and to engage the Dalai Lama in meaningful talks about the future of Tibet.”

Keith: You must be dense. The heckler’s are from the Obama camp who came there to heckle Hillary when she spoke about Obama. I am glad that Hillary ignored the fact that these kind of people are a dime a dozen. They don’t count. And that’s what the Obama camp has working for them. Idiot’s. Mostly young punks with no common sense at all. No doubt in the same league as he use to be, drugs and booze. Is that what college is all about today?

Its a shame that one of the three choices we have for Prez is a straight faced pathological lier…and her spouse can match her in that skill as well. Her arguments and claims are as shaky as:
1. her lie about about opposition to NAFTA.
2. her imaginary sniper fire story
3. Her lie about her opposition to Iraq war.

Posted by: moeen | April 14, 2008, 1:19 pm 1:19 pm

She’s not allowed to say anything Obama and the Obamedia don’t like. Didn’t you know that?
This “bitter” gaffe story is pretty typical of how things are playing out in this primary. I see few articles denouncing Obama’s statement, and tons blaming Clinton for his troubles. You would think she said it – no if she had said it the media would crucify her and start demanding she quit again – is there any part of democracy the media plans to leave us?
Spin, spin, spin. Wish us good luck with this nominee the media is choosing for us. I sincerely hope it doesn’t come back to bite us in the butt like their sorry reporting leading up to the Iraq war. I guess democracy is over and we’ve got information filtered by a corrupt media, just like in N. Korea. Yippee!
I know ratings are all important, and there is an influx of Obama followers who just discovered politics who are boosting ratings and readership, but they media needs to remember that when they all move on to their next hobby, the majority of lifelong democrats who supported Clinton or Edwards will not tune in anymore. I’m close to going PBS and NPR exclusively for my “news.”
It’s also pretty glaring that if Clinton mentions anything Obama or the Obamedia doesn’t like, even though every pundit with two brain cells to rub together is harping on it ad nauseum, she gets hammered for it. Is “attack” the new word for “unpatriotic”?
True freedom and democracy are looking farther and farther off in the distance these days.

Of course she as heckled. This is not getting the play she expected. You can’t manufacture outrage and if you do, you better not be so obvious about it. You can’t go around telling people how to feel. That’s not the way it works.

WHY DOESN’T THE BIASED MEDIA REPORT WHERE OBAMA MADE HIS “BITTER” REMARKS! IT WAS IN THE HOME OF A PAKISTANI NATIVE-MUSLIM MILLIONAIRE! WATCH OUT WHAT WILL GO ON BEHIND CLOSED DOORS IF OBAMA IS ELECTED PRESIDENT.
San Francisco is an American city where all illegal immigrants are welcomed and protected. The wealthy, elite hire them and make sure they get free medical care, free food, free education, etc. They work (don’t pay taxes) and send their money to their homeland. Obama supports this! He is an arrogant snob.
His comments in San Fran about “bitter” rural Americans living in small towns remind me of Kerry’s famous comment: “if you don’t get an education you could end up in Iraq.” It’s like his “typical white grandmother comment”. Remember how he compared his “white grandmother” to “Jeremiah Wright”, so he didn’t have to apologize for Wright’s radical “God Damn America” remarks in a church of God?
Hillary shows strength and a knowledge to fight for ALL Americans.
NO OBAMA — HILLARY 2008!

I’m bitter because you’re bitter. You’re bitter because Obama says you’re bitter. You weren’t bitter before you were bitter. It’s only after you first became bitter that you’re bitter.
So, put away your six-shooter and stop your anti-immigrant nonsense.

Bill: That poll is pro-Obama and inflated the poll to make the public believe Obama is more electable. I don’t believe that poll because she is winning in PA and IN and I hope it stays that way. Hillary has a chance to win Puerto Rico because of the Latino vote. NC will be for Obama because of the black race there but the trouble with the white race they should vote for their own people. The blacks do it we should do the same. I don’t know what is wrong with the white people today. Obama states he has more experience than McCain or Clinton. Where? He’s still wet behind the ears.

I agree Fred… the polling trends are the best indicators and we need about a week to really have a good gauge. I just thought I would mention it since it was really the first one completed since the fiasco. We shall see whether ARG is on the mark or not once other pollsters complete their polling.

Posted by: mixed-american | April 14, 2008, 1:26 pm 1:26 pm

Noone is twisting Obama’s words. He said what he said and it’s on tape.
People can draw their own conclusions without the assistance of Clinton. This story was brought into the public
eye in a blog by an Obama supporter where it was first brought to the mainstream media’s attention from the Huffington Post which is far from a right-wing supporter and is obviously pro-Obama. If this story started there and the writer was offended then there’s some obvious merit to the fact that some, not all, would find his comments offensive. Is Clinton running with it? Yes Should another Democrat being doing that to the other Democrat?
I don’t know because I doubt the Obama camp would have missed out on this opportunity had it dropped in their lap so soon before the PA primary . I think Obama will survive this misstep but not if he continues to insult the intelligence of the American people by spinning his comments into an issue about anger, bitterness and frustration. He knows what part of the comment people found offensive and so do his supporters. If they think they can avoid the part referring to guns, religion and bigotry and that the people will be too stupid to catch on then Obama is just digging himself a bigger hole. Obama, as is the case too with Clinton, is the only one who can bring himself down not his opponent.

YOU are the type of Hillary supporter that turns any rational thinking person against Hillary.
Just what are you implying with your post?
If you support Hillary, i must assume you support her policy positions. Obama’s and Clinton’s platform are very much the same.
It looks like you, just like Hillary, care nothing about the country and putting a Dem in the whitehouse to end the war, mend the economy, etc. All you care about is pushing your flawed candidate, at the risk of Dems losing the whitehouse.
Your slurs, implying that Obama is some secret muslim manchurian candidate, are damaging-to Obama, the country, and worst for you, the candidate whom you support. You obviously don’t give a rat’s butt about this country, the democratic party, or anything but getting the lying Hillary into office at any cost.
With supporters like you, Hillary’s descent will only hasten.

Everything about Obama is about believing that everyone is bitter and preaching to that part of us. That’s why it didn’t bother him to listen to to Rev. Wright for 20 years. It is unfortunate that this is his understanding and belief about the people of the United States. Things could be better in the United States and we definitely need better leadership than what we have had for the last 7 years, but America is still a great country. I don’t think Obama really believes America is great.

Clintonites. Stop blaming the media for your poor candidate. The reasons folks support Obama are two-fold. One is that they really believe Obama is a better candidate. The other is that folks do not like the Clintons and never will. Those are facts. It is not the media. It is your candidate with her kitchen sink strategy, her habit of being less than genuine and truthful, and her husband and memories of Clinton Act I hanging over the campaign that’s the problem. It ain’t the media folks it’s the candidate. The media, for most part, is simply reflecting reality. So, folks stop acting like Republicans and deflecting blame.

Isn’t ARG the same company that had Obama and Clinton tied a few days ago? Yeah, the same one that everyone dismissed last week, even Obama supporters.
ARG has been the least inconsistent this election season. Lets wait till we get a real good sample of multiple polls.
Oh yeah, most of you should know by now, polls mean nothing.

Posted by: Raum | April 14, 2008, 1:43 pm 1:43 pm

This new ARG poll is devastating news for Obama. I am an Obama supporter and ARG has been off the mark numerous times, but this means that the “bitter” comment, at the very least, has incredible statistical noise in Pennsylvania. It will most likely tighten a little bit in a week and after the debate, but i think Obama’s comments ensures that Clinton gets a double-digit win in that state, unless Clinton hands Obama a gift between now and this weekend. If she wins Pennsylvania by 20, this race is basically tied. He is trailing her by more than 30 points amongst white folks. Wow, that’s shocking. I didn’t know that blue collar America only meant white folks.

ARG hasn’t been as bad as you say they’ve been. I really think Obama closing the gap in Pennsylvania was just statistical noise last week. I think the Bosnia flap hurt Clinton, but towards the end of last week, she was beginning to bounce back. I think before the “bitter” flap, Clinton had about a 12-point lead in Pennsylvania. The next few days will tell us if this is just statical noise, or a real shift in that state. But Obama had no shot in Pennsylvania and i think he has to now hold her win to less than 20 points and make it up in North carolina. But no doubt about it, Obama is in serious trouble.

Posted by: Kevin | April 14, 2008, 1:48 pm 1:48 pm

Hillary was right to point up Obama’s tendency to explain away non-supporters by alluding to their tendency to scapegoat those “that look different from them”and so on, but having done that, she should now pull away from it lest it backfire—let people decide, now that an important part of Obama’s character has been revealed. She might say:
We now understand that Obama feels those disgruntled at losing jobs, etc. tend not to support him because they transfer these legitimate economic gripes to social issues championed by Republicans, even though the Republicans will scarcely help with the economic issues. This suggest a certain irrationality and tendency to scapegoat, much as we saw in Wright’s church (e.g., disgruntled blacks blaiming the U.S. for poverty, AIDs, 9/11). If Obama disagrees with this reading (of his recent remarks) let him say so.
I think we need to move away from condoning and even encouraging such hurtful scapegoating the causes of our ills. The fact that Obama seems repeatedly to condone scapegoating (in contrast to being the unifier he purports to be) is something that each voter MUST think carefully about and MUST keep in mind in considering the best nominee for the Democratic party. Having brought out this characteristic about a politician that, we must be honest, few know very well, I leave it to you to ponder the implications for your actions, and will now turn to the solutions I aim to carry out were I president.
If she keeps hammering him the sexism against her, and the sympathy for Obama, will make the whole gaff backfire against hillary! She should put it aside (with small reminders) while she’s ahead.

If you knew anything about politics, you’ll know that her lead will not grow. The two days after a controversy are always the worst days. But Obama will close the gap gradually. I predict he’ll lose by about 10-13 points in Pennsylvania. That’s very bad news for Obama.

We are cynical with Washington insiders like John McCain and Hillary. I am more bitter however with them for voting for and supporting the war that cost my nephew jason his life. We went to Iraq under lies told to us by George W. and Cheney at a time our reason was clouded by our rage over 9/11. We needed leaders who could have at least read the intelligence reports before voting yes so we could look tough when we ran for the Presidency. Hillary is an embarrassment to this country. After the silly tirades she goes on all the time while lying out of the side of her face, she doesn’t deserve to be president of the United States. She is a liar! Her husband is a liar… does everyone forget when he looked into the camera, made a fist, and lied directly to your face. They are doing it for the power. They DO NOT care about Pennsylvanians at all! POWER=MONEY! If they turned their first presidency into 109 million dollars, how much can they sell their second one for now that they have all that capital? Don’t give them the chance! More than two families can be president of the United States… why does it always have to be Bush/Clinton? Who is next? Is Laura Bush going to use her name recognition to get a senate seat then ride it into the white house 8 years later claiming she was basically vice-president while her husband was president?

Sen. Obama was right. Frustrations HAVE made those of us who were brought up in working class neighborhoods (I am a displaced, born and raised PITTSBURGHER!!!!) bitter. It has made us grasp for something else to bite on, since complaining about the steel industry and other manufacturing jobs sucked out by NAFTA (just like Ross Perot said it would) got us nowhere. Sen. Obama heard Every Word We Said. He was just saying out loud what Ms. Clinton will gloss over to get the nomination, and then it’s right back to “keep the Jones down, and our rich pockets full”. Racism, Prejudice, Bitterness – all are born of frustration. When you work every day, and still cannot pay your bills because the tax breaks are for those who can pay for them; when health care is not for those who work, but those who pay; when justice is only for those who can afford to pay for it; when our National Guard is overseas instead of here at home Guarding Our Nation (remember Katrina?), of COURSE we are bitter, and Senator Obama is not elitist to point it out!!!!! Ms. Clinton just needed something to try to cover the lying she’s doing now in the hopes that she’ll get to do it from a higher vantage point. IF he ‘misspoke’ himself, then at least he is honest enough to say he did and explain himself instead of just trying to sweep it under the ‘she was tired from the campaign trail’ rug. If she’s tired NOW, what’s going to happen at 3AM WHEN THE BIG PHONE RINGS?

There she goes again–attacking, impugning, twisting, distorting. And when she is called to task for running a negative campaign, and falsely projecting herself as a “gun toting” good ole country gal, her supporters rant “sexism!” and “misogny!” Tis a pity that Hillary–who in reality is a ivory tower snob, multi-millionaire, and product of a privileged background–can only promote herself through a despicable combination of deception and condescending pandering. Does she really believe that the good common-sense realism of the American electorate will somehow fall prey to her mendacity? At least Obama doesn’t pretend to be something he isn’t. As the first black editor in chief of the Harvard Law Review, he could have gone into a lucrative law practice like Hillary did–but instead he opted for a life and career that was directed toward public service. Obama has the ability to admit when he is wrong, he is willing to address issues squarely and directly. Hillary has never apologized for anything ever–why? Because she is never wrong (which most of her supporters actually seem to believe). Wake up America, Hillary will bring our government deeper into its corrupt indebtedness to special interests, and will divide America like no president before.
Hillary ain’t it.

Hillary I am a union worker who works two and sometimes three jobs to keep my three kids in school. I am bitter or p.o.d or whatever term you want to use. Barack Obama is right and at least he can state that he is closer to us than either you or John McCain who both have spouses worth over 100 million dollars. Are we supposed to believe you are one of us when you wave to us from your limousine? I am a an from Scranton who can actually bowl well by the way since my average is 187. I am listening to all of you candidates and acknowledge that your views are all worth listening to but it is Barack Obama’s message is the one I will support. The fact that you got heckled for playing the same old paint the opponent with your smear gun silliness is just America trying to show you why we don’t want to play politics by the same old rules anymore.

Of course she was heckled! She wants this too much, and isn’t getting her way — is whining far behind?
From Today’s “The Note”:
“Not a good sign for Clinton: “In more than a dozen interviews here, even conservative Republicans couldn’t muster the sort of outrage over Obama’s remarks that Clinton backers were expressing Sunday,” USA Today’s Ken Dilanian reports. “Several McCain supporters here said the comments wouldn’t play well among rural Americans. But nearly everyone allowed that, in fact, many small-town residents are indeed bitter.”

The ARG poll was taken after the “bitter” remark made news. The 20% or so who say they are less likely to vote for Obama because of his commercials, is insignificant. When you consider that Hillary, in that poll, is pulling 57% of the support, it means that less than half of her supporters have a problem with Obama’s commercials. You need to read polls with more acute reasoning, my friend. Your interpretation is idiotic. Obama’s problem, CLEARLY, is the “bitter” comment. It has slashed into his support with white independent MEN, and swung the poll ten points in Hillary’s direction.

It amazes me that almost every irrational post that overlooks or excuses HRT’s devious dishonesty is a woman. You women should be outraged because she has scammed you with her lies. The article in the Huffington Post with Obama’s remarks was not anti O’bama. If you read the entire article without taking a few words out of context you will see that Obama was saying that those people in the rust belt have lost jobs and hope and are bitter and cling to the things they have left, guns, and religion. A Pennsylvania poster on Politico agreed and made the comment that people in west Penn. are bitter and that they use their guns to shoot squirrels and raccoons and then out of necessity eat squirrels and raccoons and that they do turn to and cling to their religion. Hillary is bitter because she has through arrogance mismanaged her campaign from the beginning and the same old Clinton tactics have failed to work…. character assignation and lies. How much more elitist can she be, assuming that she should be awarded the nomination through entitlement?

What is elitist about telling it like it is. As usual the press is letting the Clintons tell them what to think. While I dont think people should vote based on race, it is true that the only demographic with a statistical anomaly is the black voting bloc. Is this at all surprising? For me it is because I know how much Senator Clinton has done for the black community throughout her adult life and it is sad to see folks abandoning her based on race. Prior to Michelle Obama’s “Black America will wake up” comment, there was no statistical disparity and Clinton actually had 53% support from the black voting bloc. It was even more alarming when the reports about “pressure on black superdelegates to swing to the Obama camp” were confirmed.
Will there be a white backlash caused by this? I dont know but the republicans hope so… it has always been their strategy to push democrats into Identity voting because that usually results in wins for them in the general election. Democratic voters allow themselves to once again by duped by republican tactics.
If people were voting based on the issues, qualifications, and records, Clinton would be the presumptive nominee based on the polls consistently showing voter preference on the issues. Unfortunately, we are seeing impacts on the democratic electorate based on race, gender, prejudice, misogyny, and now socioeconomic class.
I do not support Obama because his judgment is flawed and that is what he asked us to hold him accountable for – his judgment since he has no real experience. I support Clinton based on her qualifications and because I believe she will get the things done she commits to and that is: end the occupation responsibly, protect and defend the constitution, revamp trade agreements, revive the economy with green job creation, return to fiscal responsibilty in government, implement lobby reform, improve the quality of education, and implement universal healthcare for all Americans.

Seriously, i am beginning to hope that Obama loses, so that the Clinton people will have their wish and see how she wins in this country, on a Democratic ticket, without the black vote. The Democratic party has been using and pissing on black folks for decades. Perhaps it’s time that they sit this one out. Let white folks enjoy their country as they please. This enire hogwash has nothing to do with elitism or Rev. Wright or whatever. Obama’s problem is the fact that he is black. This country, despite its pretenses, is not ready for a black President. Plain and simple. They will look for any reason, however small, to tear the man down.

I think we should hear from religious scholars as well as professors in economics and social studies and just plain folks of different ages and socio-economic background. Let the candidates answer our questions directly No media Filtrage.
this means No much money for the media well than the forum should be at the cost of a reasonable speech time. At least your station will be recognized as an honest people involed network.
and you guys can rotate too. the object isto let people make their decision based on fact not fiction.

Hillary has worked hard for her own self interest not our country. Was it hard work for her to vote Yes to going to war in Iraq and getting over 4050 of our kids killed? The war has cost us over a trillion dollars and we are no better off today than we were then. Hillary has never worked a hard day in her life and she is the true elitist living off of her husbands legacy and trying to tie herself to his coattails to benefit herself. He owes her one for the Monica, Paula etc. moments but do we owe her the Presidency? Get real lady you have not broken a sweat once. Why do you call Obama Obambi?

Posted by: Kevin | April 14, 2008, 2:23 pm 2:23 pm

Obama is toast, toast, toast, toast.
The fact is that Hillary doesn’t have the guts to say what needs to be said, and Democrats won’t go against Obama in sufficient enough numbers to deny him the nomination.
John McCain is the only candidate with a hope of defeating Barack Obama. And he will.
John McCain spent more time in a POW camp in North Vietnam than Barack Obama has spent in the Senate.
Hillary should be doing the following
a) noting how Obama has aligned himself with radical muslims and racists
b) noting that Obama is a machine hack
c) noting that Obama’s support mainly comes from racist voters who vote for him due to his skincolor
But, she won’t.. because it’s too late.

i’m so ashamed and proud @ the same time What a paradox our country is becoming and is going through. As I have been studying the blogs from many sources and trying to detect gender from the context, I found that more men support Hillary than women do. I think this tells us a lot about our society. If you can just take a step back and think about what you are writing.
80% of the men write logically 20% emotionally. 56% of the women write emotionally while about 30%write logically an 14% are torn yet either overly excited or confused.
You may say how i could tell this is boggus. well maybe. But first of all women’s blogs are easily detectable. ofcourse there are less than 1% who purposly try to confuse their gender ID. For better or for for worse at least I took the time to study this because I care about what is happening to our country.
I tried to tacle the race difference it was harder but nonetheless visible. I found AA men like white men are not as harsh on Hillary and the hillary AA supporter are older looking from the experience they write about they go from 40 + to 60+ Younger AA are plain rude and could not tell if they were male or female because younger crowd have a new unisex language now like one size fits all. and they can be explosive at times. As I said earlier the race study is not conclusive and I’m still at it.Anyway this is notthe firsttime that I’m proud of the men of this country Hillary need to have more of them to come down from Mars to win this thing.
In other news
Obama was recorded saying in the Chicago news paper Electronic Intifada.net march 4th 2007 to Ali Abhumina the cofounderof the paper that he was sorry he couldn’t speak about Palestine He’s in the middle of a campaign and when things calm down he could be MORE UP FRONT. And that is when he just finished reassuring AICP the american jewish organization in Chicago that he has Israel’s interest at heart. Enough with lies. Enough with the bias.
stay with us.
I swear Carter is becoming senile. There things we are not being told here.I mean who in his right mind would take on a trip such as this in the middle of a campaign??? if it were not for a political statement!!!! It is like turning missles facing Israel.
Why not an OBAMA/Osama ticket or the other way around while we’re at it?. Hamas never wanted peace with Israel Only its destruction. The United States is its only ally. Obama is not going to keep that promise with Israel.

Lauren – You are a bit of a light weight on issues, aren’t you? Try facts for a change.
Every day, America sends the equivalent of $700 million to China. That’s the toll of our imbalanced trade relationship with the regime in Beijing. We ship our manufacturing jobs, consumer dollars and technological know-how to China. In return, we receive low-cost, under-inspected and, all too often, unsafe consumer products.

Caucuses? Lol. Obama is still leading Hillary in the polls in states in which he won caucuses. In fact, Hillary got lucky. If the caucus states were primary states, Obama would be leading her by nearly 3 million votes. I have no problem with Clinton wins. i thnik Obama made a great strategic blunder. he should have gone for the knock out punch in Ohio and Texas by being more aggressive and pinning Clinton in Ohio. Zig-zagging from Ohio to Texas, was a stupid mistake. he mishandled the NAFTA thing and i think Ohio specifically altered this race. If Hillary wins Pennsylvania big, this race becomes a lose/lose for Democrats unless Clinton and Obama work something out. I think the Democrats are headed for a nuclear explosion. Look, do the math. Clinton CANNOT catch him in pledged delegates unless she wins 65% of votes from here out. Where does that leave us? Clearly, if she wins the popular vote, then we have a split decision. They have to work something out for the good of the party. If Clinton wins Pennsylvania by 20 and wins in Indiana by a significant margin, i think Obama should be the bigger man and take the VP spot. That’s just my opinion. he had his chance. He blew it. Let’s move on. I think blacks are more forgiving than whites, and Obama can repair the damage with the black community, rally them around Clinton, and both of them can win the Presidency for the party. If it becomes obvious that Obama has lost the white vote, then he should give it up. Pure and simple.

This is where Hillary will beat up Obama…close quarters, hand to hand dirty politics. I would bet on her any day to twist comments and mamipulate the situation to her advantage. Its pure genious the way she bends situations to control perception at all levels. Too bad the presidency doesn’t really involve ALL of her strengths…file stealing, evidence destroying, shady campaign donors, scams where she barely avoids jail and all the rest of the smaller…you know…regular kind of daily fraud. It is Not about being a woman, its about being a scam artist. The distraction of the candidates bickering only supports Hillary. I can’t tell whats worse…the fact that she lies and gets away with it or that people are still supporting her because they refuse look beyond what they see in tv commercials. Oh…I almost forgot…Bill made $800,000 to give a talk about the Columbian trade deal. Yep, right into the Clinton account. Goodness knows they need the money. What are we doing about it…nothing…we need to get to bottom of the latest breaking news…the Obama Bomb…that people are ‘bitter’.

“how do you explain his victories in all-white states like Iowa, Kansas, etc?”
Caucuses that were won using Chicago Ward-Committeeman-esque strongarming shouldn’t count here. It’s not a democratic vote.
“Of course we are forgetting predominantly white states he won like Virginia, Wisconsin, Missouri.”
Hillary won the white vote in those states. Obama won due to a black bloc.
“He won Vermont, all white.”
And they elect a Socialist to the Senate. That’s clearly representative of America.

It is politics. You play to win the game. I don’t blame Clinton for employing any necessary tactic to win. I hate weeaklings and Obama seems to be one. I am an Obama supporter, but sometimes i wished he had some Clinton in him. He fights not to lose the game. He’s had multiple chances to bury her and blew it. In fact, what on earth was he doing in a fundraiser in California in the first place? Didn’t we put $40 million in his coffers last month? How much more money does a person need to run for Presidency? Obama should have gone to Pennsylvania right after Ohio and Texas, bought a house there, and lived there. Goen door to door telling people that he wanted their vote and was willing to fight for it. he is soft. That’s my problem with him. Forget this elitist hogwash.

Posted by: Mokopane | April 14, 2008, 2:50 pm 2:50 pm

Your right, I am bitter. Obama was right. Voters in the industrial part of country are bitter, or should be. Politicians lie to them, use them and then forget them. Example: Bill Clinton came through Ohio , Michigan and Pennsylvania in 1992 and loudly proclaimed that he would never finalize the NAFTA treaty without renegotiating the treaty. Once in office, he almost immediately went back on his word, accepted the Bush1 treaty with no changes and pushed it through the Senate. And he never went back to those people he promised to fight for and told them why he abandoned his promise. Those voters should be bitter and they are delusional if they believe Hillary, or her husband, are one of them.

It is crystal clear that Hillary is launching attacks against B.O. to have a shot in 2012. She knows that if McCain wins, people will be fed up with with all the warmongering and vote him out. If Obama wins, he would be a two term President. Her strategy won’t work, even if McCain outsted in ’12, should he win, she would not get the nomination. The democrats are already repulsed that she has turned on her own party with her outrageous Tonya Harding type tactics.

Mokopane – Obama – “It’s time to set a hard date to signal a new mission in Iraq and to begin to bring our troops home. It’s time to ensure that we complete the change in mission and the drawdown of our forces, by the end of April 2008 – a date that is consistent with the date in my plan back in January.”
Obama last week: United States should transition to an “over-watch” force of between 60,000 and 80,000 troops by the end of 2010, according to an article Friday in the New York Sun.

Obama won the white vote in 10 straight contests until Ohio and Texas. Clinton managed to paint him as the black candidate that wouldn’t look after your pretty white kids in Ohio with that 3am AD. Obama responded to it with his own idiot 3am AD, and only serevd to give it more credibility. Then NAFTA hit like a nuclear bomb, and Obama’s reaction to that only made matters worse for him. Rev. Wright (that bloody bastard) then came like a plague and just when Obama couldn’t afford any more mistakes with white folks, he dropped the “bitter” bomb and sealed the deal. I think it will atkea mircale for white folks in blue-collar areas to embrace Obama again. But these Clintons, they just have a way of always winning. Don’t they? I admire the fight in them, much as i hate to admit it, I do.

“It is not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns, or religion, or antipathy to people whao are not like them, or anti-immigrant seniment or ant-trade seniment as a way to explain their frustrations”.
The media is giving a lot of attention to the cling to guns, or religion slam that Obama but little is given to the othe parts of his statement. He says that they become anti-trade as a result of their bitterness! I find that statemet to be ironic since he, even today is decrying NAFTA which is a trade agreement, that he goes around using to make a political point and his aim whether intended or not is to project that trade is the enemy of working class american’s even though the reality is that some have been hurt and others have been helped! He has been using the fear of trade as a wedge issue ever since Ohio where he was gaining points but lost credibility after it was learned that he had been telling the Canadians that he was not going to renegotiate NAFTA, and that he was just saying that for political consumption! So he goes to San Francisco and tells the liberals that working people fear trade out of bitterness but he himself markets that fear in order to get votes!
The other part of his statement that working class people become ant-immigrant because of their bitterness. Well if one were to look closely at what is happening in TX and CA he would find that it is not working class people who are anti-immigrant is the the blacks who show animosity towards all hispanics because they say that they are taking their jobs, the same is true in CA, where there is tremendous tension between blacks and hispanics. Just look at the election results from those two states and you can plainly see the divide that has emerged between blacks and hispanics. Blacks went for Obama and Hispanics went for Hillary! As a matter of fact in both states Hispanics increased their numbers which is why Hillary was able to win without them she would have lost! So to say that working people are anti-immigrant is to ignore that such sentiment runs strong in the black community!
So the other parts of his statement are as wrong and bigoted as the guns and religion remarks and they show how disingenuous he really is!

Obama is only behind 6% in the latest PA polls. I think it’s telling that he’s still close and that Hill got heckled. Seems to me that PA folks are not as easily dupe as OH voters. Colombia/NAFTA may be giving her a taste of her own medicine. Let’s be clear, Hill needs to win every last primary left with far more than a 6 point spread just to pull even with Obama. If Obama was sitting in the same spot, Hill would be all but demanding that he drop out so she could have her grand coronation. I’m not going to be surprised if he wins PA.

I am watching the latest polls and of course have to work tonight Dogsoldier. One thing is clearly obvious… as stated before, any apology from Obama is empty since it was not done immediately it was perceived as damage control. The polls may not be accurate on the numeric scale (time will tell) but they do show a major shift in public opinion. Clinton, now that she got rid of Penn and is ignoring Bill, was really strong at the Compassion Forum. This is the Senator Clinton I know and support. Her answers to the questions were superb! Obama seemed ok but lacking in substance as usual. This is the Senator Obama I know and do not support. His poor judgment shines through when he has no prepared speeches or answers. Of course, that is just my perception. This election as all elections is about perception. The candidate stands on the issues are very close and so are their records. One major difference is their record on fulfilling campaign promises – something Obama lacks. Another major difference is in how we perceive the candidates and how they perceive us. Unfortunately for Obama, he got caught pandering to the elite that he has always been a part of since his childhood. Clinton on the other hand worked for every dollar she has made and still donated 10M she made from her books to charity (foundation dispersed and direct). Obama has not donated any money to a charity that disperses funds to the needy. I dont know how anyone can perceive Obama as one who will represent the interests of all Americans. At least with Clinton, she has been there and has never forgotten her roots. She continues over the years to work for the poor and the working class from all races and in all countries. Senator Clinton is truly representive of the American dream and has my strong support.

AP poll of Pennsylvania? Theer is no AP poll of Pennsylvania out today? The AP doesn’t do state polls. Obama is clearly still ahead nationally. But this isn’t about national polls. This is about Pennsylvania polls. Obama f*cked up big-time on this mess and to be frank, as someone who has given the max to his campaign, i am mad as hell at him. If he has any card whatsoever to play, this is the time to play it. They have to have a plan. They absolutely have to.

I just can’t believe our country a democracy would put a candidate under pressure to concede in a middle of campaign for crying out loud. Sorry But this is not Pakistan, Egypt or some small whole in a forgotten jungle. This is the United States of America leader of the world.
The people decide when and how this race will end. With their votes. PERIOD!

Posted by: ruthmatters | April 14, 2008, 3:26 pm 3:26 pm

R – I have no questions about her character, but then I have been following politics for 30+ years or so. As for McCain, he is a better candidate than Obama IMHO but not as good a candidate as Clinton. For the voters, we have to make a choice based on who is still a candidate. Comparitively, the voters still hold Clinton as the choice based on the issues. In other words, the polls continue to show a strong majority of voters have confidence that she will get the job done based on her track record. If we truly think we should be trying to combat our own biases and prejudices based on perceptions, Clinton should be the presumptive nominee.
Kevin – I disagree about performance of Clinton and Obama at the forum. Obama’s strong suit has always been his ability to “preach” and his audience was a “preaching crowd”. If you believe their consensus was that Obama did better that is likely because they identify with his style. I dont agree because I believe in the separation of church and state – religion should have no place in politics in order for the government to represent the interests of all Americans. Our country was not founded on the premise of “freedom OF religion” – it was founded on the premise of “freedom from persecution based on religion”. This distinct difference has been clouded by church influences in both parties over the years. When I listen to candidates, I prefer to ignore any reference to religion and pay attention to substance. On that point, Clinton clearly “won” the forum so to speak.

THINGS I LIKE ABOUT OBAMA:
(1) The way he lifts his head and looks down his nose at people.
(2) The way he stutters when he tries to explain away the stupid things he says.
(3) The way he slings mud at anyone who suggests is solution-challenged.
(4) The long string of shady characters he’s embraced.
(5) His wife who got a $100K/year raise after Obama earmarked a million for her hospital.
I could go on my fingers couldn’t handle all the typing I’d have to do.

Posted by: S | April 14, 2008, 3:31 pm 3:31 pm

DCVoter – I looked at Obama early on and flirted with the so called new guy. But it occurred to me that the quixotic notion of an inexperienced intellectual who somehow believes people, like terrorists states and their surrogates, can talk rationally together when power, values, ideas, classes, haves, have nots, religion, and the geopolitical forces surrounding them and their spheres of influence were somehow not in conflict with our own ideals seemed ludicrous. The same hold true with matters of world trade.
With this in mind Clinton was the obvious choice for me. No doubt it is not a bad thing to have a utopian world view but the reality of our world cannot be denied.

Posted by: Dogsoldier | April 14, 2008, 3:34 pm 3:34 pm

Now are we to accept this version from Obama as to what he “really” was saying or should we wait for the 4th revision? What he said was what he thought and it wasn’t any of this spin talk. He was talking in private with a group of elite supporters giving them a pat on the ole back. He was sharing insights with them trying to relate with a group of metropolitan rich some bodies. thus the “WE’LL” in the talk. The “They” was who he was talking about. The view he shared was how he saw it in his own words but it is a view held by this group as well. What he was telling them in straight talk is shorter and with less stammering involved. Why we have a hard time getting “THEY” on board with our movement is because Red Necks are lazy bitter people who are fanatical about there religion, gun and are very anti outsiders. They don’t trust “WE” educated city folk or for that matter any outside person or country other then other red necks just like themselves. You know it is a race thing as to why they won’t vote for me or accept our enlighten movement. NOW THAT IS WHAT HE SAID AND HOW HE FEELS AND ALL THE SPIN IN THE WORLD BY HIM OR THE BIAS MEDIA IS NOT GOING TO SUCKER THE AMERICAN RURAL PUBLIC!! SPEAKING AS A FORMER METRO “WE” WHO NOW HAS LIVED AMONG “THEY” FOR 20 YEARS HAVE TO SAY SORRY BARACK THAT IS NOT WHO “THEY” ARE!
THEY are hard working, God loving, kind, open hearted toward all others, who do love life and country as well!
Sorry people but Obama is wrong and I do not like all these talking heads and media hounds spinning Obama’s words as not being offensive but instead we are to take as right and true. I also am really tired of them telling me how I feel! Who I am is one of the “THEY” Obama was sharing to his “WE” buddies about. What they all have wrong is that I am not bitter towards my country or my government for that matter any other race of people or any other country or any other neighbors! Not city folk, Not Hispanic folk, Not black folk! They are all welcome to my small town and my church where you will get and invite for dinner! We do have people in hard times around here and other who are not and we help each other through such times. We do want more jobs but not anymore or less then any other part of this country. We count ourselves so very lucky to be able to live in a small town with a solid sense of community and core values of hard work, where sharing, caring and God loving abound! Where we have the freedom to work and play. Where we can hunt and fish and live as we please. We are not bitter we are BLESSED!

Posted by: Roger | April 14, 2008, 3:37 pm 3:37 pm

Kevin: I never knew my grandfather to hold a grudge against any man for long and he always tried to be on good terms with all who knew him! So if you ask me would he forgive him if he apologized yes! I have not heard Mr. Obama apologize for what he said! Rather I hear him say that he meant what he said but he wished that he would have said it in a way that would not have caused such an uproar! So I think that he does beleive what he said is true that working class people are bitter and they cling to their religion and guns out of some sort of reaction over losing their jobs. So far I have not heard an outright apology for his remarks and I do not think that he owes me one because thats the way he feels and he has a right to feel that way! I think that the answer he gave in S.F. was from the heart, it was his attempt to answer why working class people do not support him so instead of looking at himself and asking what he was saying or doing wrong he used they oldest trick in the book, which is, it’s not me it’s them! So he laid the blame for his lack of working class support at the feet of working class people and thus went into his social and cultural analysis as to why they think and act the way they do! So my grandfather and I would respect him but we would not vote for him!

Mrs. Obama added her addled two cents today in Pennsylvania …. see below. When do these two pack up the bitter tent and skiddaddle back to Chicago where they are obviously happier listening to God Damn America with Reverand Wright:
“We live in isolation, and because of that isolation we fear one another.
Because Barack Obama is the only person in this race who understands that. That before we can work on the problems we have to fix our souls. Our souls are broken in this nation.
Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual; uninvolved, uninformed.”

Posted by: beebop | April 14, 2008, 3:41 pm 3:41 pm

I totally agree Dogsoldier. I am fairly liberal in my views of the world but I am a realist. I am an American first and the importance of our security and our economic stability are the primary issues in this years election IMHO. All other issues feed off of those two. An inexperienced, intellectual (elite or not) as POTUS of our country would be a huge risk of our security and our much-needed economic recovery. This is why I can rank the candidates as I do: Clinton is the strongest in both security and economics, McCain shares equal strength in security but lacks in economics, and Obama is a risk on security and on economics. In fact, Obama’s plan to fund his proposals are based on tax increases in personal income and capital gains – increasing the debts of the country’s consumers and businesses will cause continued spiraling downward.
Kevin – you now clearly show you are unable to debate issues without personal attacks and therefore do not warrant further response. Have a great day.

DCVoter,
Thanks for the reply. Clearly your experience in politics exceeds mine and there is much I don’t understand about this process. Also, I must admit Hillary Clinton is compelling when making an argument and has much more experience than Obama in that she has had an opportunity to see and do much more. Unfortunately, the Clinton record (both Bill and Hillary) makes me question their character. She may be on the side of voters with her take on the issues…but are you willing to say that none of the past scandals matter or were just a fluke? Do you think that they have radically changed their strategy to run for president? How does a skeptical person come to look the other way when her conduct is so questionable. I really appreciate your reply since there are very few who would take a stand in this regard facing direct questions about documented incidents in her recent past.

I can’t believe some of these Hillary supporters are really democrats. Some of you are really racists bigots. I didn’t know we had those in our party. There is a party for you…the Republican Party. Please, please go to them with this stuff.

If making $109m after leaving office, ducking imaginary sniper fire, taking $800,000 from the Colombians in private and speaking against the deal in public is what makes a good Blue Collar Democrat, then we have to Vote Clinton now. If downing whiskey, and drinking mugs of beer makes a good President, vote for Hillary.
If you need someone who has no clue on the economy, has no clue on who America is fighting in Iraq, if you need someone who thinks the down turn in the economy is our fault and we must bail out ourselves. Vote the Cyborg (Sen. McCain).
If growing up in a single home, living on food stamps, paying of huge students loans for years, working with the poor for over 20 years, generating interest in politics, making mistakes and apologizing, fighting for the American people, ending the war and fighting to improve America’s image abroad. Vote Obama now. He is in touch with the ordinary American and he knows what it takes to bring about the change we need in America.

R – thanks for the polite debate. To clarify, I dont judge Senator Clinton on the basis of her husband or his Presidency. I judge her character based on her own merit and the work she has done as a humanitarian, attorney, author, civil rights activist, First Lady, and Senator. Her record is clear to me when it comes to character. Her strength of character also clearly shines in that she has accomplished all that she has in spite of Bill not because of him.

Kim: I am a democrat and I do not cosider myself a racist or bigot! I am from rural small town america and I can tell you that what Mr. Obama said is not true and that his comments could be cosidered to be cultural bigorty which is just as harmful and demeaning a racial bigotory. It appears that everyone needs some group to put down in order to build themslves up or make them feel superior! It is suprising that it comes from a black man who himself I am sure has been the subject of such prejudice and bigtory, that he would engage in the very behavior that he has condemed! It is also disappointing since it came from a man who wants to unite us as nation that he would use language that seperate us from those who are enlightened and those who are not!

This forum Clinton attended was riddled with Obama plants. Its so obvious and very needed to create a headline.
No objective audience BOOS a candidate when suggesting something like this.
It reminds me of the south carolina debate, when the 99.99999999999999% black audience booed Clinton when she attacked Obama. But did nothing when Obama attacked Clinton.
You learn something new everyday I suppose. Something the rest of the world knew all along. Americans are RUTHLESS at getting what they want.
The Obama campaign certainly isnt above that. WE already know the Clintons arent, and we also have to assume Mc Cain wont be either.

R – I’m not sure if you recall where much of the Clinton past misdeeds are based on today. For instance, when Bill was president he did mess up big time with Monica. And Bill did lie to try and get himself out of the mess he created. Now, I do not know what happened behind closed doors with Hillary after this occurred or with their daughter either. But I would suggest it was not pleasant then or years after in that household. I’ve seen the same thing occur with some of my friends. I can honestly say I’m so glad I was not them. There’s nothing more sad than a family breaking up with children in the middle bearing the hurts than never quite go away. How Bill and Hillary got through this mess is something I often wish some of my friends would have tried to do. Because when the hurting stopped somewhat they sometimes talk with each other and say they should have did more to help themselves.
The republicans, who controlled congress at the time, spent $40 million tax payer dollars, hired two special prosecutors, in an effort to impeach Bill. There was Whitewater, Paula Jones, who was funded by republican backers and republican lawyers at the time, and on and on it went.
After $40 million republican tax payer dollars spent no convections against Bill or Hillary. However, today we circulate those same republican claims that the republicans used against Bill back then. The only difference from back then, now it is the democrats who use those claims against other democrats.
The price for Bill’s infidelity? A lifetime sentence for Hillary.

DCVoter,
I too appreciate that the debate has not turned into an unforunate food fight! I also must agree that she has accomplished much in her career and that I should leave Bill out of it. However, what is your opinion of the presidential pardon as they left office. I know it was Bill’s Presidency….but Hillary made a decision to move forward with the money-for-pardon deal and only returned the money after considerable political pressure. So…you have accomplished much, helped many people, initiated programs for children and brought up the difficult topic of health care….then you are confronted with what should have been one of the more simple decisions an ex-first lady could Ever face……should I take money to negotiate a pardon for someone? What should I do? Am I able to go through with it in order to collect the money? Is there any downside here? Will other people find out about the pardon and question my decision making process? What can go wrong here? How is that money treated for tax purposes? Hmmmm…tough questions. In spite of the sarcasm…its her decision making process that bothers me. If I lie about a trip to Bosnia for a little drama or use incomplete information about a womans death to promote my health care program….what is my downside here…should I do it or not. Perhaps this is really not a big deal and its just something I have to get over or the wider public already knows all this stuff and they are just a really forgiving bunch?

R – Obama – “It’s time to set a hard date to signal a new mission in Iraq and to begin to bring our troops home. It’s time to ensure that we complete the change in mission and the drawdown of our forces, by the end of April 2008 – a date that is consistent with the date in my plan back in January.”
Obam last week: United States should transition to an “over-watch” force of between 60,000 and 80,000 troops by the end of 2010, according to an article Friday in the New York Sun.
So, R, what is Obama’s Iraq policy?

Another difference between Obama and Clinton is in their dedication to their constituencies, their commitment to learning how to become accomplished public servants as Senators, and their integrity in holding true to their promises to those constituencies. What am I referring to?
In 2000, Clinton during her race for the Senate, she was asked if she would run for President in 2004. She said no she had an obligation to complete the 6 year term for the residents of NY. When asked again in 2002, she held true to her commitment. In 2006, she hinted at the possibility of a run in 2008 and her constituents re-elected her with full knowledge that was a possibility. They rewarded her with their support.
During Obama’s run for the 2004 Senate, with Clinton campaigning for him, Obama was asked if he would run for President in 2008. He stated he felt he should know the job he was elected to do and that he was not qualified to run for President. He clearly stated he would not run. His constituents elected him to be Senator – not a Presidential candidate. Under pressure from the liberal elite wing of the Democratic Party (Kerry, Kennedy, Pelosi, Reid, et al), he launched a run for the Presidency.
Clinton is clearly committed to the people that elect her. Obama is clearly committed to the political base. This is yet another example of where his judgment and character are lacking.

Dogsoldier,
I’ve got no problem with your view about tough situation the Clinton family faced with Monica and all the scandals. Hands down, that had to have been horrible to endure, especially with the hyper-investigative media and significant funding by the republicans during the prosecution. I am also not an Obama plant, and have my doubts about him and McCain. My point is this…are we willing to accept some really creative decision making on the part of Hillary Clinton and does she deserve to be president. I only bring up the presidential pardon issue to illustrate a point…she does what’s best for her at the time. Do we really think the Columbia trip by Bill was a surprise? ‘Honey, I forgot to tell you I’m going down to make a quick $800k supporting that thing you’ve said you don’t support…se you in a few days…good luck on the campaign trail’…no…I imagine it was more like I’m going to take this trip and make that money come what may….don’t worry about the press…it’ll blow over like everything else. Once again, a simple decision…and they do what’s best for them. Is she questioned in the media…sorry, she was questioned…I mean PRESSED in the media about it as much as Obama is being Pressed about being bitter?

R – if you want to debate without including Bill, I am happy to do so. However, your questions relate to Bill so I wont answer them because he is not running for President. As difficult as it has been for her, she has done what she felt was necessary at the time she had to deal with them. She supported him until it was clear that she could no longer do so in good conscience. Recently, if you have been following along, you will see that she not only told him to shutup but she also clearly stated he made mistakes that she would rectify as President. No wife wants to publicly go against their husband. His daughter has even stated on the record that she feels her mother would make a better President than he did and I am sure this was tough for her to do also. No one wants to go against either parent. I personally dont care about Bill’s shenanigans – I care about what kind of President he was and it is well documented that he is the greatest contemporary President in our history based on economic prosperity and peace. No one is perfect but of the three, she is clearly the best candidate IMHO when it comes to competence and character.

It appears that Mr. Obama is making light of Hillary throwing back a good shot of whiskey and saying she has fired a gun! He says that around election time some politicians do things that will make it look like they are in touch with voters! Does that mean wearing a 10 gallon hat, riding a tractor, feeding a cow, bowling and eating at every mom and pop diner in PA? No that must have been someone else we say do those things since he would never stoop to such common campaign photo ops to gain voter support! He realizes that we can see him right?

From a conservative, on the Democratic condition;
Okay folks, I’m going to be hitting some hard and fast truths here, there will be no sugar coating, and I’m gonna move kind of quick, so try and keep up.
We are fast approaching an election in which (theoretically) all one has to do to win is not be a republican, and yet, it looks like you guys are going to blow it again.
Let me splain;
John McCain has just been crowned the least lousy candidate from a stable of non-starters, and you guys should be jumping up and down in the thought that he is the competition. We’re talking John McCain here, a guy who makes Howard Dean look calm and stable, but guess what? At least he has the nomination sowed up.
That means that every day from now till November all he has to do is keep quiet, act presidential, and sharpen his knives. Meanwhile, your candidates are going to be busy bashing each other over the heads every day, and if the nastiness from the run-up of the last few states sets the tone, then whoever ultimately wins will come out of the fight looking shabby, and mean-spirited and anything but presidential.
Pick somebody!!!!
Okay, now here’s the part where I admit that I’m somewhat prejudiced in this matter.
Republicans hate Hillary Clinton. Say it with me, ‘Republicans hate Hillary Clinton.’ They just do. They may not like McCain all that much, but they would vote for Satan just to keep that lady from office. That means that they will come out in droves on election-day in order to dis-elect her if she is the Dem nominee.
It’s been 10 years, but the Clintons still don’t get it. The president of the United States is more than just the platform and policies that they bring to the office. If they were, then Bill Clinton could arguably be considered one of the greatest presidents ever. Due however, to his behavior and his questionable character there is a large segment of the population who, every time they think of him, think of a stained blue dress and feel at least mildly nauseous. The Clintons don’t get that the president is, in a sense, the embodiment of the American people, of what it is to be American.
I, for one, and I think men in general, including all those democratic husbands who want to support their wives, and even might have voted for Hillary in their primaries, when we get into that voting booth and really think about it, do not want a hatchet-faced nasty woman who seems will use any dirty trick in the book to get what she wants to be the symbol that represents us. And believe me; they will be pulling the ABH (anyone but Hillary) lever. Is that sexist and chauvinistic? Perhaps, but it doesn’t keep it from being true.
How about this;
Hillary Clinton is stridently yawping about Obama’s connection to Rezko. Hmm, so she thinks that if you’ve been connected in any way with a sleazy businessman and there’s a shady land deal thrown in, then you’re not fit to be the president? Wouldn’t you say that was a case of Mrs. Pot calling the Obama black? And don’t even get me started on NAFTA. Hypocrite!!!
Oh, one more thing;
Clinton’s supporters seem like nice people, they say things like; they’re voting for her because they like her health care plan, or they think she’s tough, or it’s about time a woman was president, all fair and rational reasons. But, if she were to lose the nomination, I’m betting that most of them would fall in line to support Obama.
Guess what? Obamanites have drunk all the cool-aid. They aren’t supporters; they are disciples. They think, as do I, that Hillary is underhandedly trying to steal this election, and if she connives here way into the nomination, not only will large numbers of them not vote for her, they may even feel the need to punish her by voting for the opposition.
Think about it…
How about Obama?
His detractors are trying to portray him as someone who talks pretty, who is only empty rhetoric, but I think they’ve missed the essence of the man.
Barack Obama isn’t Christ incarnate. He’s not JFK reborn. He’s just a man. But a man who has realized that words, used in the proper way have power. In this case the power to energize one generation, and re-energize another. To gently chide us into understanding that the only way to recover our political system, and take back our country is by doing it ourselves.
His rhetoric calls us to action, making no bones about the fact that it will be hard thankless work, but work that has to be done, and that we are the ones who need to do it.
So, here’s how it plays out, at least in my mind;
You can vote for and send Barack Obama into the fray against John McCain. Maybe he wins, and if he does, maybe America finally stands up, cleans out its gutters, makes some hard choices, goes in the right direction, and once again becomes the shining city it was always meant to be.
Or, you can vote for Hilary Clinton and elect John McCain.
That’s what I think, but then what do I know, I’m just a stupid conservative.

Iraq! NAFTA! Bankruptcy Laws!
Who does she think she is kidding? Who does she think will be her opponent in the general election if she gets the nomination? And after she trashes Obama in the Democratic primary, who does she think will vote for her in the general election? I am at that point where I can’t even hold my nose and vote for HRC. The stench is overwhelming.

Aren’t you forgetting something very important. Senator Clinton claims to now not support NAFTA. However, her husband, who she files joint income taxes with annually, made was paid more than $800,000.00 by the Columbian government to help with NAFTA. People, get real and open your eyes. We talk about the religious extremist who become blind to the truth and will die for those beliefs. We have voters who become so rapped up in the political rhetoric of their candidate or party affiliation, they have become political extremist and blind to the truth even when in plain sight. All the candidates need to be examined thoroughly. But how can you separate a husband and wife like the Clintons who are definitely a political machine. Hillary is benefitting from the same $800,000.00 that has been made on the backs of the job sent outside the US. Wake up, people, wake up!!!!

Hillary misleads voters. Hillary Clinton has made statements unequivocally trumpeting NAFTA as the greatest thing since sliced bread. The Buffalo News reports that back in 1998, Clinton attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, and praised corporations for mounting “a very effective business effort in the U.S. on behalf of NAFTA.” Yes, you read that right: She traveled to Davos to thank corporate interests for their campaign ramming NAFTA through Congress. On November 1, 1996, United Press International reported that on a trip to Brownsville, Texas, Clinton “touted the president’s support for the North American Free Trade Agreement, saying it would reap widespread benefits in the region.” The Associated Press followed up the next day noting that Hillary Clinton touted the fact that “the president would continue to support economic growth in South Texas through initiatives such as the North American Free Trade Agreement.” In her memoir, Clinton wrote, “Senator Dole was genuinely interested in health care reform but wanted to run for president in 1996. He couldn’t hand incumbent Bill Clinton any more legislative victories, particularly after Bill’s successes on the budget, the Brady bill and NAFTA.”
Who is the elitist? Hillary cares more about the health care industry than the health of people. Nobody can argue that the biggest problem with health care in the United States are pharmaceuticals and insurers. Hillary Clinton became the second largest recipient in the Senate of health care industry contributions. “As she runs for re-election to the Senate from New York this year and lays the groundwork for a possible presidential bid in 2008, Mrs. Clinton is receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from doctors, hospitals, drug manufacturers and insurers. Nationwide, she is the No. 2 recipient of donations from the industry, trailing only Senator Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania, a member of the Republican leadership.” Raymond Hernandez and Robert Pear, “Once an Enemy, Health Industry Warms to Clinton,” New York Times, July 12, 2006. Lastly, her vote for the Iraq war was the greatest error in judgement for the health of thousands of U.S. men and women in uniform. Not to mention the health of millions of Iraqis.

S and Dogsoldier: You have proven the “bitter” point 100%.

Posted by: susanizy | April 14, 2008, 5:29 pm 5:29 pm

I would like to add a comment to the topic of the “Bitter” controversy. In regards to what Sen. Obama said quite astutely in Marin. I believe he was 100% correct and that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is out of touch. Sen. McCain is out of touch with most of the soldiers I know (who are referred to as bullet catchers by the elitist Navy sailors and Air Force pilots). The varying degrees to which there out of touch is up to everybody to judge for themselves. I however know that I was shocked to find out that these 2 PRESIDENTIAL candidates who have been on the campaign trail for so long; and that have so many years of experience in Washington. Don’t know that a large amount (some even say 80% of Americans polled are dissatisfied) of Americans are bitter. With all the important looking news clips of them at hospitals and poor people’s homes; and the pictures of them with concern etched on their face in some living room or picket line. I couldn’t believe that neither one of them knew that there were God fearing, red blooded, patriotic, Americans who are bitter. I’m sure once they get wind of all these comments and see the error of they’re ways there’s going to be some quick backtracking. In the mean time I want to add my voice to this conversation about this latest “Bitter Controversy”.
Because I’m bitter; after Two 15 and 16 month tours to the sandbox and less than 6 months together with my wife in the last 2 years… Yes I’m bitter; but I’m not the only one. I see and run into bitter people all the time. Much more frequently than I run into happy go lucky optimistic satisfied people. To clarify my statement though I would like to add. Some of the bitter people I run into are very funny, well behaved, well spoken, law abiding, respectful citizens. Being bitter doesn’t mean they are violent, disgruntled, hateful, or walking around permanently angry. People are just bitter, with these high gas prices and the economy only getting worse and worse. Former New Orleans Louisiana Citizens are bitter with a federal government that seemingly left its own citizens to fend for themselves: in one of the worst natural disasters since the big quake in San Francisco. Every American citizen is bitter from living with an antiquated immigration policy that’s broken and that seems like the government is just playing politics with. People are bitter with racial tensions seemingly worse now than they were in the 90′s, 80′s, or even the 70′s. The rest of the free world is bitter and disenchanted with us as World Leaders. The Euro is sometimes twice the value of a dollar: so a 4 Euro pack of cigarettes cost $8 American dollars. The ridiculous hundreds of billions of dollars in debt we are in to communist China should make any red blooded American bitter. While were steadily outsourcing jobs and in trade agreements with countries that could care less about our people or our families being out of work or struggling; I have family that’s in Akron and Dayton Ohio out of work getting old, bitter. Broken borders… The Democratic Party should be bitter that the Clintons again seemingly (with scandal after scandal) left the door wide open for Al Gore (A Nobel Prize winner) to crash and burn and go down in flames. It is in my opinion that its partially because of them that the Country wound up in the hands of the Republicans who have lead us into this disaster. I still love my country but I’m definitely bitter and upset with the last 2 administrations that I grew up in that have let things come to this.
I believe in the second amendment. I believe Sen. Obama believes in the Second Amendment and the right of Americans to be able to bear arms. He has been one of the Amendments fiercest defenders. I was baptized and have attended Christian School almost all of my life. My faith didn’t come out of bitterness but I know that Jesus message has always been to bring hope to the downtrodden and downcast. What the Senator said is correct. We as Christians cast off our burdens and sorrows in Christ and in church where we believe we are uplifted by his Holy Spirit.. One of the reasons we fellowship in the Lord is because they’re are bad governments. From the Pharaohs to Pontius Pilate they’re have been administrations that have made the people bitter. When times are tough people look to they’re faith for refuge Read Exodus, Psalms, Thessalonians, Corinthians, the New Testament… All those letters to the Churches after (the) Acts of the Apostles or Disciples were pretty much about staying strong in the faith through desperate times. I respect Sen. Obama more than ever for standing up and actually telling the truth. To say that most Americans are happy and optimistic like little children is out of touch. When times are good people aren’t worried so much about crime or guns. When times are good and people are happy and truly optimistic we don’t have so many people using drugs like Crystal Meth… People are happy when they have good jobs that they’re confident they’re going to have the next year. When they’re’ not worried about loosing they’re home or worried about how they’re going to afford gas and still be able to save for they’re children’s education and they’re senior years… No government has ever been perfect, or utopian, but is it unrealistic to just want a President who will help the people instead of the lobbyist and big Bear Stearns?
I believe that out of the three viable candidates that we have left, that Sen. Obama is the one who is the most in touch and connected to us. He didn’t grow up in a wealthy Illinois Republican dynasty, or in some very wealthy Military family that could give him access to the elitist Navy Pilot School. That doesn’t except the children of the common American family. Sen. Obama wasn’t some fancy Navy fly boy… He would’ve been one of us (or like me a Grunt).
Then Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has some nerve; when she doesn’t even realize how out of touch she is. Look how she sounds in her new commercials being run in Pennsylvania: where she talks about her family summers at “The Cottage”. It’s like she doesn’t get the difference or really care that most common people don’t have summers at “The Fabulous Cottage“ that looks like a mansion or some manor… or the White House. She’s completely out of touch. Most of the people I know spent summers on the porch or at they’re friend’s house; with a 2 or 3 day trip somewhere like Disneyland or the beach or some place. I can’t even imagine a whole summer of my whole family not working and being able to hang out at some gated Mansion with butlers and maids. You can see in the commercial the place was humongous. The fabulous Hiltons and Mrs. Rodham Clinton may be used to summers like this at “The Cottage”; but what is this the Simple Life or the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous? The Hills or Richie Rich?
Sen. Obama grew up with a single Mother and from his childhood pictures (looked Happy and Loved on the beach with his Grandparents) with his Mom doing the best she could; but he had to make it on his own. Like the most of us he had to make it by using his own wits and drive; without the rich connections or a Father that is the Admiral of the Pacific Fleet of the Navy. He didn’t even have the brand new convertible Corvette Stingray like Sen. McCain. He didn’t have the trust fund; like most of the rest of us he had to work and pray hard for everything. The President of the Harvard Law Review, a self made yet very intellectual Senator that really seems to still be one of us. That hasn’t completely forgotten what it‘s really like to be one of the ‘have not’s’. Neither One of the other two candidates has ever even experienced an average or lower middle class lifestyle. They have all led fantastic lives and achieved and done amazing things. They have all had to overcome. The difference is 2 of them are completely out of touch with the common American or the average tax payer/voter. Senators McCain and the distinguished Mrs. Hillary Rodham Clinton are completely out of touch with the people, with the small hands that turn the wheels…They can read about being poor, or some older politician’s thoughts on abortion, and being frightened and out of work or being a young single mother… They can visit the barrio and the poor and be gracious enough to listen to you and me gripe; but they have never known a day of not being monetarily rich or financially set for life or even of having an immediate family member that wasn’t rich. Bill Clinton seems to me to be as close as Hillary will ever get to having someone who may have been poor in her family. Sen. Obama or Barry knows what it means to really have a debt or college loans that have to be paid back that you can‘t afford.
The rich kids like the Kennedy’s’ like him and have endorsed him. Stars like Oprah, George Clooney, George Lucas, and even Rolling Stone magazine believe in him and support him… So the wealthy and well to do should know that he’s’ not out to get them or that he wouldn’t just forget about them either. He’s just of and for the people and he’s honest with us because he knows people are intelligent enough to handle it.
You don’t have to sugar coat things or try to trick or politic us into liking you. I can’t afford a new set of Nomax gloves to take to the field with me. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton telling me that I’m happy and optimistic isn’t going to get those gloves or make them magically appear.
I believe that Sen. Obama is really special. Like Governor Richardson said he’s the type of Politician that (if we’re lucky) we get, or that comes around once in a lifetime. I think this last much a do about nothing, is the result of panic and jealousy that the cats out of the bag and the other politicians are really looking bad. To anyone calling him out of touch for overtly being OBVIOUSLY in touch; it’s definitely just a jealous and desperate, frightened reaction. The words he said behind those closed doors in Marin weren’t scandalous or out of touch. The response from McCain and Hillary Rodham Clinton has been… It’s easy to see. People are at the gas pumps bitter, Protesting the War bitter, (Pink against the War or whatever…) Michael Moore and Sicko and the environmentalist are bitter… The problem with Immigration on both sides of the border is bitter the Minutemen are bitter. Out of Work people are bitter and mad at the way there jobs have been outsourced and that Nike is building a brand new 2.3 billion dollar factory in Vietnam. Dell and America Online etc… are spending millions building buildings and business in India spending millions training people in India. People are bringing guns to school and shooting everybody and killing themselves, bitter. They’re not optimistic. They say that there were officially One Hundred and something suicides in the Army last year; but I can almost guarantee that there were more than that, that the Army won’t classify as a suicide. In every unit there putting Soldiers on Suicide watch taking the bolts out of their weapons they’re boot laces and belts. When people are happy and optimistic they don’t have to give up their educations and dreams to join the Army to defend their country and families.
I am a little bitter but I do love my country and I BELIEVE in Sen. Barack Obama for President in 08.

DCVoter,
Thank you again for the response but you may be falling victim to what the rest of her supports need to do in order to sleep at night…avoid and redirect. I totally agree that I need to leave Bill out of it when talking about Hillary’s questionable behavior. I tried to make the distinction once and will one more time. As and ex-first lady…all by herself…on her own…she made a decision to accept money-for-presidential-pardons. That decision has nothing to do with Bill, it was hers to make and she took the cash. It speaks volumes about her decision making process. How do you, as a supporter of her account for that.
It seems others have read about the $800,000 also…sometimes Google is pretty good if you’re looking for stuff on the web.

I am bitter, I am from a smalltown, I love my religion and I own a gun. Barack didn’t lie. I just didn’t need him to remind me. I live it everyday. But I’m not crying about him calling it out whether it did it nicely or not. Just being honest about it.

Susanizy….thanks for doing that. I wonder if I’m the only getting edgy about that?!! Again, I am not totally for Obama or McCain, I’m just tired of the Clintons getting a pass every time there is questionable behavior. Do Hillary supports just not look into anything? Thanks again for bringing it up.

What is it about Hillary supporters that they cannot say anything good about their candidate, just negative things about Obama? And my goodness, how bitter they have become. I am an older white woman from a small town in South Central PA. People are bitter. Who can blame them after the 2000 election fiasco and 8 years of Bush/Cheney destruction. Damn right we’re bitter. That’s why we want change.
Vote Obama April 22 and put an end to the nastiness in American politics.

Dogsoldier… come on… how many things are said behind closed doors not wouldn’t be said in public? He told the truth and we thought no one noticed. Now we know we can’t hide the bitterness. This still doesn’t change the $800,000.00 Bill AND Hillary received for Bill’s support of NAFTA on behalf of the Columbian government. Did Hillary and Bill discuss this behind close doors, probably. Sounds like a woman without courage to me!

Posted by: susanizy | April 14, 2008, 6:04 pm 6:04 pm

It would appear that Obama supporters now rely almost exclusively upon character assignation and guilt by association as a substitute for justifying their candidate in terms of any pressing issues. Not hard to understand why!

Posted by: Aston | April 14, 2008, 6:04 pm 6:04 pm

I saw the video of Barack Obama making fun of Hillary Clinton over the “bitter” controversy, or about people who Obama said don’t vote for him because they’re “bitter” small-town folks who “cling” to their guns and faith during tough times.
It’s not what Obama said about Hillary that irked me. It’s HOW he said what he said about her, how he MOCKED her.
It looked so immature and childish to me, like an adolescent kid trying to get even with a playmate.
A John F. Kennedy would not have behaved this way. A Martin Luther King, Jr. would not have behaved this way.
Which leads me to this conclusion: Barack Obama is no John F. Kennedy, and Barack Obama is no Martin Luther King, Jr.
Michelle Obama had her Freudian slip, and Barack has this one now. These Freudian slips betray what people really think and feel deep in their gut.

I am still bitter, still religious, still carrying a gun, still living in smalltown America. I could have used some of that $800,000.00 when my husband’s company moved its operations outside the US. Tell me how this is character assassination to question Hillary’s real intentions or hipocrisy? Bill is an extention of Hillary and she is an extension of him; I see nothing wrong with this. I just don’t get the loyalty to blindness support for these candidates. By the way, I am not a Barack supporter, but that doesn’t change the fact the man didn’t lie when he made his statement. Even some of Hillary’s handlers have commented that he wasn’t wrong, only that he should have made the statement.

Obama was right. A lot of us are becoming bitter as our government ignores us. Most people don’t want this war with Iraq but our leaders do so we have war. Our government makes trade agreements that bankrupt the middle class and enrich his billionaire buddies. We are getting bitter about a lot of things our government is doing and not just in Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Potato Head, Hillary Clinton, is now sporting the plastic parts, of a down with free trade anarchist.
She will be a Mrs. Potato Head, Religious Quaker, tomorrow, with all the fixings.
Her being Mrs. Potato Head, explains how they can put on new outfits made of plastic every day of the week. She is someone different every day. Those big holes in the side of her potato head, never wear out.
She continues to reinvent herself every day.
She’s for NAFTA one day….against NAFTA the next. For religion one day…..against it the next. For gun control one day…..against it the next day.
Sending jobs overseas one day….fighting to get them back the next day.
If she weren’t a Mrs. Potato Head…..everyone would be disgusted with her…and hate her, for selling them out.
But how can anyone dislike Mrs. Potato Head?

Basically Obama’s ‘bitter’ comments characterise people in small town America as gun toting, xenophobic and religious zealots. In other words, ‘rednecks’. I went to school in Western Pennsylvania, lived in a dormitory with students mostly from small towns from Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia. None of them carry guns, few are particularly religious and for many were curious about foreigners. The fact that I was the only foreign student in my class and my dorm gave most of them quite a lesson in international geography and history. Some of them may have had some ‘redneck’ tendencies but after a short while, they are some of my best friends. Obama does not know what he is talking about. If he is pandering, it backfired. The only ‘rednecks’ in Obama’s mind are the ones his wife and Pastor Jeremiah Wright has been drumming into his brain the last twenty years.

Many Obama supporters seem bitter which is likely causing them to vote more based on race than on who’s right for America’s future. Michelle Obama and Rev. Wright also seem very very bitter. Barack Obama seems to be surrounded by bitter people … Maybe this is where he got the idea to make the infamous “bitter” comment. But it really shows how out of touch he is with most of America. If he’s elected we’ll also need to cling to our guns in order to protect ourselves from his “soft on crime” policies which will make us all at a higher risk for becoming crime victims.

Hillary is a multi-millionaire who knows nothing about the hardships of average american. She is very much an elitist, and a phony. On top of that she is a chronic liar, just like her husband and they will say anything and do anything just to fool average americans to get elected.
Its not 2000 or 2004, when you can defeat a good candidate. Barack knows how to handle such liars…he can take a punch and give two in return. He will win!!! The way she is running around talking about Obama, its so laughable. She has been for NAFTA, her chief campaign strategist Mark Penn works for Columbian govt., Bill got $800,000 from Columbia for the illegal trade agreement, while the phony hillary is going around as if she cares about average, hard-working americans. Give me a break! VOTERS ARE NOT DUMB AS HILLARY AND HER SUPPORTERS HOPE FOR!!! TAKE YOUR LIARS HILL AND BILL AND GO AWAY!!! DEMS WILL BE BETTER!!!

Posted by: Marie | April 14, 2008, 10:38 pm 10:38 pm

You know, Obama’s words were elitist and he is patronising…don’t blame Hillary when he shoots himself in the foot and his Annie Oakley comment was sexist, but lets just chuckle and let that pass…just don’t play the race card!
Oh,and nice move Obama, get the anti abortion people on side by saying that a doctor and pastor should be involved in the decision of whether to have an abortion or not…Sorry buddy, you are not turning the clocks back! It’s a woman’s body and totally her right to choose!
In a week Pennsylvania will be voting and it seems that voters realise that Hillary has the solutions, all Obama does is steal her words…well Mr Rhetoric, it takes more than a silver tongue, it takes experience, which you do not have. Give in, you’ve mainly won traditionally red states, they wont vote for you in November and without them you have very little backing you up, please don’t continue to ruin it for the Democrats.
If you want McCain to become president, continue your support of Obama, even though he is finacially backed by Rezko and his crooked friends. If you really want 8 more years of Republicans, vote for Obama. But if you want a PRESIDENT who will be there for you, who, unlike Obama and McCain, has experience and solutions…EVERYONE, VOTE FOR HILLARY!!!

As one darts across the country, one may find an Obama fan in the crowds who gets excited about jeering at Senator Clinton. They usually ruin the event for others who really come to listen and learn what her strategic plans for America include.Mean people do not belong on either side of the isle. Respect and courtesy appears to be missing from the Obama-ites whom I’ve witnessed at rallies. Go support your candidate and leave the rest of us alone!!

Psalm 31:6 “I hate those who cling to worthless idols”; treats “cling” as a mostly negative term as most people do in regular life. What frustrates Obama (and what his fellow liberals don’t understand) as that most religious people would rather follow Psalm 31:6, than cling to the power of the State that promises Utopia. According to Obama, if the people would just cede all their power and money to the State than Obama could decide who gets how much back, if any and bingo, Utopia. Problem is that most of the peoples money would first have to go to pay off the State workers, politicians, and of course, the Rezko types Obama is so beholden to. Than, what ever is left over, could than go back to the people. Provided the people followed all the rules and laws Obama and his friends imposed on the people before they could get any of their money back. Sounds a lot like a pyramid scheme to me with the people at the bottom of the pile, way bottom.

Posted by: Obama is too sensative. | April 15, 2008, 12:51 am 12:51 am

Campbell Brown on CNN started saying “Do you think Hillary is over playing her hand?” from the first day Hillary gave her take on the “elitist and condescending” words of Obama. Now she says it every time she talks about it. The media has got to stop putting there “thoughts” into the “news” Just because Campbell wants it not to be a big deal doesn’t mean that “real people” in the small towns Barack so arrogantly had disdain for, feels that this shouldn’t be an issue. I guess it is only if “black people” are offended then it is a story, no matter if Obama makes up stories to make the Clinton’s look like racist. Even though their words in no way were racist. Obama’s words are not being taken out of context, even though he wants you to think they were. Obama is DONE in a lot of small towns and churches and the media just doesn’t want to tell you that.

Today’s Quinneipiac Poll out of Pennsylvania shows Hilliary 6 points over Senator Obama. Same as last week before Senator Obama’s “bitter” statement.
Seator Obama spoke the truth…people are angry, frustrated an bitter after seeing their livelihoods shipped overseas dut to NAFTA, Clinton’s 1990 Baby, and Hillary’s support of it. Things right now are hitting a very low point with people unable to make their house payments, difficulty in keeping families afloat with the high cost of food, gas, and general merchandise. Yes, we have NAFTA to thank for this, and we have Bill and Hillary for pushing and enacting this legislation with safety nets for American workers. Hillary claims she was never for NAFTA, however her White House schdule proves differntly. Don’t Clinton supporters get weary of listening to their candidate lie, twist, distort, and using fraudulant claims to “experience”? Guess you like being deceived and lied to?? Perhaps your support is indicative of the kind of person you, yourself, are?? You smear Senator Obama in the same vicious and deceitful manner as McCain and Hillary. My belief is that Good always overcomes evil…Hillary is an evil vicious shrew who thinks she is owed the Presidency. It may be Bill owes her a lot, but WE, THE PEOPLE, do not OWE her anything!! I think the majority of people are sick and tired of Hillary’s deception, lies, fraud, and overall nastiness in her unsatiable hunger for power. And therein lies the difference between Senator Obama and Hillary. Senator Obama is a powerful person; Hillary is a coward who craves power.

Today’s Quinneipiac Poll out of Pennsylvania shows Hilliary 6 points over Senator Obama. Same as last week before Senator Obama’s “bitter” statement.
Senator Obama spoke the truth…people are angry, frustrated and bitter after seeing their livelihoods shipped overseas due to NAFTA, Clinton’s 1990 Baby, and Hillary’s support of it. Things right now are hitting a very low point with people unable to make their house payments, difficulty in keeping families afloat with the high cost of food, gas, and general merchandise. Yes, we have NAFTA to thank for this, and we have Bill and Hillary for pushing and enacting this legislation without safety nets for American workers. Hillary claims she was never for NAFTA, however her White House schdule proves differntly.
