Clinton on Her $109M: ‘I Have Nothing Against Rich People’
ABC’s Eloise Harper reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton spoke about her family’s $109 million fortune for the first time since her tax returns were made public.
in Grand Forks, N.D., last night, Clinton said, "Don’t get me wrong. I have absolutely nothing against rich people. As a matter of fact my husband, much to my surprise, has made a lot of money since he left the White House doing what he loves doing most –- talking to people. But we didn’t ask for George Bush’s tax cuts. We didn’t want them. We didn’t need them."
The tax returns from 2000 to 2006, released Friday, show that they paid $33.7 million in taxes at a rate of 31 percent — a rate that is much higher than the average rate of 20.8 percent for that tax bracket.
They have filed an extension on their 2007 taxes.
Some of the most significant sources of Clinton income are $10.4 million off her books, $29.5 million off his books, and a whopping $51.8 million for speeches given by Bill Clinton.
Clinton didn’t dwell on the bonanza that she and her husband have amassed since Bill Clinton left the White House in 2000. She spoke for about an hour to North Dakota Democrats asking for their support. Clinton lost the state, but as she told the crowd there is no such thing as a pledged delegate.
Clinton, hoping for a change of heart from Democrats in this state, said, "I am here tonight because I am seeking your support to be that president."
The New York senator made the point that she never gives up saying, "I know what it’s like to stumble. I know what it means to get knocked down. But I’ve never stayed down. I never will and neither will America if we get ready to win this election in November."
Clinton then used a local North Dakota ice hockey analogy that the crowd seemed to enjoy, comparing herself to a local team.
"Can you imagine if the Fighting Sioux [University of North Dakota hockey team] had played the Gophers [University of Minnesota hockey team] for a tie on Sunday and then given up? Well they kept fighting and that’s why they are going to the ‘Frozen Four’ in Denver next week."

I can only imagine this is what all the other “recipients” of this tax break said.
With remarks like this, Hillary makes even unsavory characters like George Bush look “not so bad”.

It must be so hard on the rotten media that there wasn’t anything in the TAX RETURNS to jump the Clintons about. For gods sake don’t show your ignorance by making remarks about their income. Check back, duh, being an ex-president is very luctrative.John Kennedy was filthy rich. In my book that just proves Hillary isn’t in it for the money. Unlike Obama who is funneling money into his campaign in everyway known to man.

Hillary said, “But we didn’t ask for George Bush’s tax cuts. We didn’t want them. We didn’t need them.”
Yet, the Clintons take full advantage of them. The Clintons donate to charity. What Charity? The Clinton museum. Their charity does not go to salvation army or homeless shelter like yours and mine would go. Their charity conveniently goes to themselves.
On the other hand, when people donote to Hillary’s campaign with their $10, $20, $50, Hillary LOANED her campaign money with interest. You have to understand this. She will not earn such an interest if she put it in the savings. So she is making money out of her campaign while pleading for your $50 to be given to her for free. Watch out!

So she has money. Name me a president that did not have money. As long as they made it honest, it is none or your business or mine. She gave to charity and paid their share of taxes. I can’t think of any president that didn’t have money. I bet Obama has plenty hid back that he is not telling anyone about or paying taxes on. Probably come from Islamic countries. That guy is the big crook to me. He has a lot more negatives than the Clinton’s. None of them should be teaching sunday school.

I laugh at all the Hillary haters who come out when these stories are aired. I doubt that any one of you would not have made as much or more if you and your husband had occupied the White House for 8 years. Every president who leaves office makes millions, but why is it that the Clintons income is the only one that has ever been plastered all over the media, all over the world? The Clintons did more for this country than 2 Bushes and Ronald Reagan combined. They balanced the budget so our grandchildren don’t pay for our mistakes, something that NO Republican President has been able to do for the past 30 years.

Filthy rich and yet she is for the lower income, working class people. Right.
No such thing as a pledged delegate. Caucuses are less important. Snipers. Paulette Revere. NAFTA. Campaign officials working with Colombians over deals that she is against. Allowing her campaign to call people Judas. Should I keep going?

Honestly, have there ever been two less likable people in the history of the U.S. When she didn’t have money, she could stand rich people. Now that she has some, the shoe is on the other foot. What a total hypocrit! But that’s to be expected from the Wicked Witch at this point, since this has long been the Clinton M.O.
Best of luck in the next election. Because this time around, no matter what else you bring up the rest of the way, you’re going to fall a little short. Maybe you’ll get your wish and Obama won’t actually win the General Election. Then you’ll be able to run again in four years.
In the meantime, you and Bill should take a break and enjoy your money.

Why don’t people talk about Obama’s $2 million mansion in Chicago that he got through the help of Tony Resko, who is on trial for corruption in Chicago. Obama is only 47 years old (the Clinton’s are in their 60′s) and Obama is already a multi-millionaire. Obama’s wife makes more money than Hillary Clinton does as a Senator. Quit trashing Hillary and start being fair with the public about Obama’s egregious lies, and his association with corruption in Chicago.

Hypothetical:
How hard would it be to launder money through individuals, by giving them money to donate online? Isn’t that what Rezko was good at? Wouldn’t an experience group of manipulators do small amounts to keep it off target? Albet CNN would never talk about that? Since they LOVE Obama

Jim, the balanced budget is the qrk of the Republican Congress and not a good will or bright idea from Bill. Let us not minimize the fact that the Congress was leading that process and has put Bill under pressure to achieve that balanced budget which he has no other choice but follow the movement and please Newt et al. Hill has abandoned North dakota and now is coming back because she want to create confusion about rules and regulations re pledge delegates. North Dakota does not need a Bosnian sniper at all. The Bosnian General of Brigade Hillary Clinton has to do the noble thing, drop out and help Obama to beat McCain as a drum in November 2008. God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA08.

Look people, it doesn’t matter who you support right now (Obama or Clinton). The fact of the matter is that the common American family has earned a tiny fraction of the more than 100 million dollars that the Clintons have earned since 2000.If you really think that Hillary Clinton with her millions and millions of dollars has the slightest clue as to what NORMAL average American families are going through in this economy, then you’re absolutely clueless. There is no way in hell that she has anything in common with the majority of Americans so you can bet that a HIllary presidency will result in 4 more years (or maybe 8) of an economy that continues to work us to death while the corporations and the uber-rich continue to sock away money like there is no tomorrow.Think about your bills, your paycheck, and your children. How will you pay for their college? How will you fund your retirement? Then decide if you REALLY want to vote for someone who is a millionaire 100 times over in only the last 8 years… do you really think she has a clue as to what you are going through in your own personal financial situation? Here’s the answer: SHE DOESN’T.It’s been said that people who vote Republican are either ultra-rich, or they’re SUCKERS. I think it’s fair to say that a vote for Hillary would be the same… so if you’re rich and set for life, or if you’re a sucker who will buy into her campaign “promises” then go ahead and vote for her.If you have any concern for your own personal financial situation then you should be voting based upon your pocketbook. Barack Obama, who is far from poor but nowhere near the ultra-rich elite crowd that the Clintons run with, is far closer to the common working people of America, and is our best choice for a President OF the people, BY the people, and FOR the people. And no, I’m not in his campaign… and no, I’m not black… and no, I’m not ultra-liberal… and no, I’m not a young college student. I’m a college-educated family man, happily married for almost 18 years with two great kids, making a very average median-level income, and living in the midwest.

Interesting to note that Clinton gave the same amount of money to charity that she made from her books. Obama on the other hand kept most of the money he made from his books and wht little he donated to charity went to his church that doesnt donate back to the community. In fact, they provide for their ministers to live rich and without paying taxes.
I dont judge Barack based on things his wife has done and said. I dont judge Hillary based on the things Bill has done and said. McCain’s wife is worth 100 mill and I dont judge him based on his wife’s fortune either.
Obama and Clinton both filed for extensions on 2007 taxes so the argument on that is a moot point. Bottom line? Clinton made money from her books and gave it to charity to help other people. She truly does practice what he preaches – It Takes A Village. Obama and McCain are all talk.

The Clintons paid MORE in taxes than the average person in that tax bracket. They gave 10 times more money to charity than Obama. Don’t forget all the time Bill spent raising money for Katrina victims. Once again ACTIONS speak louder than words. Case closed. Keep fighting Hillary, you have tons of support out here!!

Once you have tasted power and its benefits I would think once is enough. My only question is what did they specifically do for the working-class when in office? Ans: Passed and voted for NAFTA that took jobs out of the US and contributes today to joblessness. Voted for Iraq that used soldiers from working-class families. Can these two’s motives for the Presidency be trusted other than to use it as a platform to further enrich themselves and re-fill the coffers.

Democrata: Andrea Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan, and she hates Hillary and loves to run Hillary bashing stories. Andrea Mitchell likes to sit and giggle while Chris Matthews gets tingles running up his leg over Obama. By the way, come time for the GE, Andrea will be bashing Obama if he is the nominee because she is all for the Republicans. Note to media advertisers: women are tired of the blatant sexism, Hillary bashing and nasty and negative comments about the Clintons in general and we are not watching CNN or MSNBC anymore, so don’t waste your advertising dollars on those networks trying to reach us. Unless of course you are not interested in reaching women consumers.

“Why don’t people talk about Obama’s $2 million mansion in Chicago that he got through the help of Tony Resko”
Because it’s been established in writing by the original owner of the home and by full disclosure (a term foreign to the Clintons) by Obama that Rezko had no part in the original purchase of his home. The trial on an innocent until proven guilty Rezko has been going on for weeks. The claim by the prosecution, the opening statements and the witness list all relate to activity that had nothing to do with Obama. Levine, the star witness for the prosecution didn’t meet Rezko until sometime in 2002 and the transactions they’re talking about happened as Obama was departing the state legislature for Washington so there was little benefit for, little motive and zero connection between Levine and Obama.
Rezko is turning out like Rev. Wright will. It’s been a whole lot of fuss about something blown way out of proportion for political gain.

Obama has helped ordinary people by working with them on the streets of Chicago, by representing them in both the Illinois State Senate and the US Senate. By leading them through a dramatic and popular primary campaign.
Hillary has done what exactly? Failed to lead a national movement for universal health care, leaving many of them without health care, and crippling her husbands Presidency? Without wanting to demean anything Hillary has done, the Clinton campaign, at least its online presence seems to think it can just say ‘What has Obama done?’ as a cover for her lack of real achievement.

I am an ardent Obama supporter. But this bashing Hillary over how much money she’s made, is flat out ridiculous. Because she is rich doesn’t mean she can’t care about the poor. Can we please focus on the issues? Is that too much to ask of Democrats? Why are we not talking about this Mark Penn Columbian meeting instead of how much money the Clintons have?
Pam, who cares who Aljazera supports? So you are telling us Americans to base our decision on who terrorists support? That’s really flawed logic.

Let’s pretend that your outrageous claims about Obama’s ties to rezko are true. My question is: So what? Did the man commit a crime? No. And if he didn’t commit a crime, how is this relevant to my decision? Can people like you ever discuss the issues? You and people like you are just hateful, angry people. You are also stupid people, incapable of discussing the issues and always look for tabloid-type headlines and scandals and childish conspiracy-type theories. I dare you to discuss the issues. I dare you to articulate the difference between the candidates positions on the war and healthcare and issues that actually matter. You and people like you are children. I remember when Clinton was President, that he was called the black President. No President has done more for the black people than the Clinton’s. Now all the black people have turned against them. I believe I should stick with the people that have helped me. Maybe I just have different values. Seems like the more people help you the more you expect. You will not get it if Obama is elected. He will try, but congress will not back him and he can’t do anything by himself. I think your are just having dreams that will never come to pass. Congress will listen to a white person trying to help blacks more than a black person. You will be the ones that will want him out of office (if he makes it which I doubt) and probably call for him to be impeached. Some call Richardson a traitor but I say the people that the Clinton’s have helped and vote for Obama are traitors also.

People are using the wrong measuring stick. Obama sees the big picture (is a strategic thinker), is inspirational to many, is not “bought and sold” by special interests, and is considered by almost all of his own Senate collegues as an especially talented, thoughtful, and articulate man with unusual leadership qualities (see what Republican Chuck Hagel has to say about him). His experience is closer to the street and regular people than any other candidate, and he is young and energetic and seems more a part of the 21st Century than the 20th Century. He’s our smartest choice.

The Clintons gave money to blacks, so that’s it, vote for them. Grand thinking man. Grand thinking. When Bill was President, how come he didn’t do anything to fix out inner-city schools? How come he didn’t do anything to hold black fathers accountable to their families? How come he pandered to these idiot black leaders that seem out of touch with our problems today? How come he didn’t change the rules that barred people incacerated for non-violent crimes from joining the military or getting jobs that could help the black family? These are the problems of the black community: The breakdown of the black family and the schools, and the incredible number of blacks in prison. It’s a revolving door and all Clinton did was pander to the black leaders for black votes. I am not black, but i can articulate the problem better than you do. The black community needs new, younger leaders with the gutts to say the prevalent black culture is rotten to the core and changes needs to start from the bottom-up.

It’s a “laugh at the Poor”, same day release of private riches and national poverty. Do you remember what queen Mary Antoinette said to her people? “If you don’t have bread to eat, then eat cakes”.
As is,it seems as if the Clintons are aiming for Anarchy in this country. First Bill, then Hillary, afterward Chelsea, and let us not forget, maybe the future grandchildren… Can money blinds us and buy our soul? What a shame. Let us save DEMOCRACY!
I am a female, white, middle class and Jewish. Oh, yes, and I will vote for Obama 08. Yes I Will!
Since we the American citizens were bombarded with these issues to deal with: 1. The $109 millions tax return, 2. Povery Czar, 3. “Hillary’s shamefull, fonny,”Compassionate Tearful Show” in Memphis Tennesse on the death day of MLK(who she thinks she is fooling? You all saw how fake she looked when reading from a transcript, and at the same time forcing out her “poor me” artistic tears).
And, since she voted for this Iraq war that eventually made the poverty level worst than before, I suggest: Hillary and Bill Clinton, should be the champions of the Poverty czar idea and become themselves the “Poverty Czars”. They can use their $109 millions “earned” to solve and heal some problems they were too busy to solve when visiting more than 80 country representing the richness of the United State of America.
Now it’s their turn to humble themselves and stay in the United State of America and represent the Poor by leading Community Service to end poverty. This is what we call true patriotism. If they know how to “earn” $109 million, they must know how to help the less fortunate as well. After all, the hand that “Takes” knows the hand who “Gave”. With that much knowlege at hand, we can be assured poverty will end sooner than we think is possible. Save Democracy for this countries sake, there is too much at stake! Vote for Obama 08

Of course she’s got nothing against rich people. Remember the richest men of the world (Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, George Soros)? What is their passion in life? To make sure that the have nots have access to basic neccessities of life. Does that make them hypocrites? The fact that members of congress or wealthy people have health insurance does not make them ineligible to fight for the poor who lack these things. People are so paranoid and fail to see through things in an objective way.

Please America put these two selfish, self-centered, ME generation, white-collar criminals out to pasture once and for all. Just imagine the comments if this was Bush’s tax returns leaden with Corporate graft, 51 million in Corporate speeches!!! The Clinton rump swabs would be out in force talking about how Bush sold the country out to Corporate America and is being handsomely repaid for it, well guess what it’s the Clinton’s and they are no different. Ever wonder why Clinton is up at the Bush compound in Maine golfing and fishing every year? Your all suckers! And before any of you morons take my political affiliation for granted, I’m a registered Democrat from MA!!!

And of the money that the Clintons have earned since 2001 they donated about 10% of it to charity. This is way more than most people and in line with even the most generous of charitable donors.

What is wrong with you people? Have you ever met a politican that wasn’t a liar and would say anything to get elected?? This is almost to simple. You either a. vote for the hack HRC who is just in this to put her crown on her head, b. vote for McCain, and though I respect his war service to our country, he will just bring 4 more years of what we already have, or c. Obama, which I don’t really care if he may not have all the “expierence’ that the other 2 claim to have, but how much worse can things get? This country has pretty much hit rock bottom, no way to go but up, so I say give the guy a chance.

Poor people resent rich people , always have always will, yet we want to put a poor man in the white house, come on, Obama is by no means poor and never has been, he choose to live where he lived, but he did not do with out, he is a rich man, mocking poor people, he slums, he hangs out in poor parts of town, to make his self feel better,,,,he never helped in one in those poor parts of town, other than he would give them nice speeches on how to over come the white oppression, I bet that put a roof over their head, and food in their bellies,,,,,all talk and no action,,,,,,,

I don’t get it. We all strive for the “American Dream”, and then when two people make it, all you can do is criticize them and try to find something scandalous where apparently nothing scandalous exists. Bill Clinton has done amazing things for the poor and disadvantaged since his years in office. I would like for all of you Obama supporters who so blindly criticize him to google The Clinton Foundation and The Clinton Global Initiative. See how billions of dollars have been raised for humanitarion causes around the world because of Bill Clinton’s drive to help others. And then just shut up, as the only thing you accomplish by your hateful, uninformative attacks on these two people is to show the rest of us that your hate overwhelms your good sense and any semblance of intelligent thought.

Why do some of you people think Clinton is insincere in wanting to make the lives of all Americans better because she and her husband have made money since entering public life? Is a requirement to be a Democrat these days hating those who have money? If that is the case, Kennedy, Kerry, and all of those other rich old Washington cats had better change to Republican real fast or give a ton away to charity since they are supporting Obama. Personal wealth has never been the issue, many honorable public servants have been wealthy, just look at FDR and JFK! There are many rich philanthropists who do a lot of good in this world. For heaven’s sake, quit trying to make an issue out of every single thing Hillary or Bill Clinton say or do. I swear, 50% of the population seems to have no common sense at all. By the way, if Obama had never even entered this race, I doubt most of you Clinton haters would be saying all of the nasty comments about them, at least not if you were real Democrats. Talk about two faced hypocrites, most of you probably enjoyed the 90′s as much as those of us who are supporting Hillary Clinton. Again, so many (not all)of Sen. Obama’s supporters come off so mean, nasty, vicious, and close minded, which in addition to his plain lack of qualifications for the highest office in the land, is just another reason my husband or I can never in good conscience vote for him if he wins the nomination. What he has created in his campaign does not match up with his rhetoric of change and unity. Hillary Clinton is still the smartest, most knowledgable, and most experienced candidate in this election. She would be able to implement change more effectively more than Obama or McCain. I don’t care how much any of them have made, just like pro athletes, they ALL make too much money compared to teachers, nurses, law enforcement officers, and all Americans who go to work every day to make a living; but that doesn’t alter the fact she would make the best President.

The headline could have just as easily read Clinton gives ten times as much to
charity as Obama. It was very predictable that the media would twist the story to put the Clintons in a negative light. We’ll get the last laugh in November though, when many Democrats vote for McCain.

Yes, the Clinton´s are rich. Don´t blame them for that. Blame the people who pay to read their books and see them speak. HOWEVER, I´m seeing some people comment that many of their “donations” (which most often are, of course, made to reduce tax liability) have gone to none other than The Clinton Library. IF this is in fact true…shame on the Clintons for, essentially, taking advantage of loopholes in the tax system to, really, advantage themselves. Also, apparently Hillary´s $5 million loan to her own campaign is being paid back to her at a higher rate than she could get in the bank. This is quite scandalous as well since her donors would be, in effect, be paying her interest on an “investment.” I´m very curious to know where the Clinton donations have gone.

Kevin baby I don’t know who you talking to….I’m not no spring chicken. I wouldn’t just vote for a candidate because of the money they gave to the black community, just like I wouldn’t vote for one just because he was black and sounded good. Obama isn’t even interested in you young people. He’s just using you because he knows you younger people would jump blindly at his bait. He knew the majority of the black community would support him…But, he knew the middle aged blacks, and white men and women would be harder to sell. He appealed to the young white kids so they could attract the parents. Obama hasn’t even built a political portfolio. We are in dyer straights why would I put a shaky economy in the hands of a total nobody… This man has not proved a thing to me accept he has very poor judgment when it comes to picking the people he is associated with, and that he plays dirty, sloppy politics….

a single word the man himself said to use to hang him. Lol. Funny.++++++++++++no here is what is funny, it not a single word it is , he is running for president of the nation, yet he admits to lack of Judgment, not once but several times,{not good for president. he admits that he doesn’t understand the process of voting yes and no, he doesn’t understand what that means, when he goes to church for 20 yrs, he hears , see nothing, and knows nothing, He has two long time friends, that he knows nothing about, which means he is shallow or is lying,? He say he did not vote for the war, that is good, but later we find out he did not cause he was not in the senate, makes a big difference , but he has voted in support of every bill since then, he lied about his record,”He was cautious — even on the Iraq war, which he had opposed as a Senate candidate. He voted against the withdrawal of troops and proposed legislation calling for a drawdown only after he was running for president and polls showed voters favoring it”

RS,
I totally agree. I used to watch Chris Matthews, Olbermann, and lots of CNN programming, but I can’t stand to have those networks on in my home anymore. The only show I will watch is Lou Dobbs, because he at least tends to be a lot more fair and doesn’t show such glee in bashing Hillary and Bill Clinton. If my husband turns those networks on while doing his channel surfing, it never fails, there is an anti Clinton mouth running. I have refused to watch CNN and MSNBC for the last month as I couldn’t stand the blatant bias anymore. How sad, I actually find myself watching FOX as they are at least fair in that they criticize both equally. After all of the hate dished out toward HIllary, these 2 networks must not think Obama will get elected in November either or you would think they would be a little worried about turning off so many Clinton supporters for Obama.

Clever is an adjective you have to use for the Clintons. They have managed you to donate your money while they loaned their money to her campaign. If you are a Hillary supporter, look at the following facts and think about it. “The 35 years of experience” donot mean a squat! – The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance – Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates* – Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation – Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify – Most number of witnesses to die suddenly – First president sued for sexual harassment. – First president accused of rape. – First first lady to come under criminal investigation- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case- First president to establish a legal defense fund.- First president to be held in contempt of court- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions – Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad- First president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court

Clinton folks and her campaign has played all sorts of nasty tricks thinking Obama would roll up. Once again she failed in her judgement as she failed on Iraq and Iran votes. Obama campaign is grounded and expanding everyday as anti-establishment to the Clintons. Clinton is now realizing that this skinny kid with a funny name has become a catalyst to start one of the biggest movement in Ameican history. Wait, it will wash away Wahington politicians like Hillary and McCain. You Clinton supporters, keep saying all that you can against Obama, you are in for a shock very soon. The flood gates of Americans wanting change will wash away the Clinton machine. You will consider yourself lucky to recognise Hill and Bill faces when all this is over. To all fair minded and thinking Americans, give up a part of you that still wants the bygone days of Bill Clinton, and join this movement, so that your children and future generation will gratefully look at you and say, “Thank you mom, Thank you Dad for standing with Obama. When we were in need you responded to the candidate who dared to turn the page on old Washington politicians and thus you gave us a new and prospeorus lives”

Obama has more experience in a legislature than Hillary. And Hillary had no experience as “wife” of the President. Even the NY Times admitted her resume was thin on experience. She grossly exaggerated her experience and credentials.
Hillary’s health care plan will provide medical care for everyone – even the illegal aliens – and if we disagree with it, she promises to garnishee your wages. This is exactly her ill-thought out reasoning that caused the last health insurance debacle.
Yes, Hillary is right. She is not all talk. She did the Rose Law Firm, White Water, Travel Gate, Vincent Foster, …etc. Oh, yes she can – she wasted millions of dollars of tax payers’ money when she tried to pass health care reform when Bill was President. Oh, did I forget to mention that the Congress were occupied by the Dems then? Why failed? – she was too divisive that she couldn’t have Dems to vote for it. Yes, she is not all talks – even as the Clintons were leaving the White House she took funiture from it so that she had to reimburse the cost of nearly 3 million dollars to avoid a national disgrace.

It was Bill Clinton that gave China Most Favored Nation trade status. He did that in spite of their human rights record and when he did that he said that our insistance of human rights advancements was getting in the way of commercial interests. Furthermore, it was Bill Clinton who signed waivers allowing High Technology transfers to Chinca including top secret IC chips used in nuclear warfare. In other words, Bill Clinton sold us down the toilet. And while Hillary was screaming at Bush over the Dubai Ports deal, her husband was being paid to get the deal done, and he was being paid to help Dubai interests purchase two defense contractors. The Clintons would sell us to the highest bidder if it put money in their pocket.

To those of you who continue to criticize Barrack Obama for calling himself the only agent of change in this election, I have one thing to say to you: JUST TRUST HIM. Keep in mind that there are plenty of things that he can’t speak about openly, until he IS elected, because he is still under the influence of the entrenched and corrupt powers that be. And if he does state clearly what he will do there are plenty of very powerful people who will make sure that he never gets there because they will have too much to lose. Let’s take a look at one thing for instance, one injustice that could derail his candidacy, and that is the issue of these so-called “super delegates”. What if Mr Obama was to come out against it as being unjust, anti-democratic and should be abolished because it is corrupt and give the voting power of over 10,000 regular voters into the hands of nearly 800 party bosses known as the DNC (Democratic National Committee). Do you thinkit’s fair for the Clintons to have so much say in deciding who the next president would be? Bill Clinton alone has placed hundreds of people in this select group, each and everyone of them will have the opportunity to return the favor should either of the two candidates fail to win 2025 delegates. If only 200 hundreds decide to pay him back in kind that’s 200,000 votes for Hillary. Do you think it’s fair? How many people do you think Obama has placed in the DNC? How many DNC members would want Obama in the office if he was to openly say that this is an item in his change agenda? How many of those party bosses would still want him in office if he publicly declared that as president he would level the playing field and allow each american to have ONE MAN ONE VOTE? Do you think that it’s wise for any candidate running for office to declare him/herself openly on this issue? My point is: we need to trust him, and allow him that he would do what he said he would. Why is Hillary refusing to release her income tax record? I think it’s only fair for a candidate running for the highest office in the land to release their tax record and show the people that they have nothing to hide. Obama’s total networth is $1.3 million. Hillary is supposedly worth over 40 million. Why can’t she show to the american people her finances. If she refuses to do so when she is not president and cannot claim executive privileges, what would she do when she can? Can you count how many times Bill Clinton had claimed executive privilege? Just think about it..

Upon graduating from Wellesley, Hillary made a commencement speech that moved her audience. She went immediately to Yale Law School. Following Yale, and a year in Washington, Rodham flunked the DC bar exam twice which has a 60% pass rate. She moved to Arkansas and passed their bar exam which has an 80% pass rate, and married Bill Clinton. She taught at the University of Arkansas and joined the Rose law firm which is a corporate law firm. Clinton established a legal aid clinic at the university. She taught law for two years. As first lady of Arkansas, and of the U.S., Clinton served on many boards including Wal-mart. She chaired only one: the Task Force on National Health Care Reform, which failed, accomplishing only political traction for Republicans and a setback for her husband. She fended off prosecution involving the White House Travel Office and her investments with Whitewater. A year after Clinton became a Senator, she secured $20 billion for New York City in the wake of 9/11. Among other funding measures she directed toward her state, she prevented the closing of a military base there. Although she is considered to be one of the most influential Democrats in the Senate, most of her sponsored legislation has been symbolic — naming two post offices, two courthouses, honoring and congratulating sports teams and historic figures from New York. And in 6 years on Wal-mart board, she sat mute while the company fought against unions and the advancement of women. She has a reputation of being the queen of earmarks and recently secured a 1.5 million dollar earmark awarded to a Harlem minister who endorsed her candidacy for President. She also has accepted more corporate donations than any of the Republican candidates. NOT AN EXAMPLE OF A GOOD LEADER.

The democratic race is polorizing the electorate to the point where the division will cause the democrats to lose in nov. The rehtoric coming from constituates on both sides is getting more ugly as time passes, young vs. older, black vs. white and male vs. female. Observing all posts, the younger voter is polorizing the electorate the most and this is not the unity I was expecting in this election. Now racial inuendos are appearing in the posts and this will only further divide the party, as well as cause race issues to escalate. I am fast becoming disenfranchised with my own party for the first time in all my years of voting and so are a lot of others. I don’t think people realize on both sides how fractured the party is becoming and this will cause some to not even vote in the general election or vote the other side. If this race comes down to the super delegates determining the winner, we will surely lose the election. I for one, have already went down to the department of motor vehicles and have already changed my affiliation from Democrat to Independent and I urge all the Obama Democrats to do the same. Most of these “Super Delegates” (which Bill is worth 12 just by himself!) are enter-twined with The Clinton crime family. They are either paying back favors or they like politics the way they are and are speaking with their own greed instead of the will of the people the are “suppose to” represent. If we all unite under the independent party we not only can get rid of Hillary once and for all but we can also get rid of all these “Super delegates” that sold us out!

We’ve noted before that Obama’s policy of not taking money from lobbyists is a bit of hair-splitting. It’s true that he doesn’t accept contributions from individuals who are registered to lobby the federal government. But he does take money from their spouses and from other individuals at firms where lobbyists work. And some of his bigger fundraisers were registered lobbyists until they signed on with the Obama campaign.

Guys, before you argue whether there is “pledged” delegates”, you should read the actual rule of Dems primary…It will speak itself…
If Hillary can say there is no pledged delegates in public, 99% percent it will be true technically by RULE (NO Politican will talk something which will be obviously against the rules)..
So what she said regarding pledged delegates will be technically and politically correct!!

If you Love your country and you want Change You will vote for Obama and vote every republican in every office and in every state out the door and then, and only then, can we clean up the mess that GW Bush and The Republican have made of this country!

After reading the posting here on this site, I am truly disappointed in a lot of you for your statements and your lack of patriotism. As American citizen’s we have a duty to always stay loyal to this country, but when it comes to politics’ people look more for the idiosyncrasy of a person which down plays their true intentions. In 1787; James Madison said. “In framing a system which we wish to last for ages, we should not lose site of the “CHANGE” which ages will produce.” We have reached that time, and now the time has come for a much needed change in America, and in its political parties. In times such as these we ought to band together for the greater cause, and relinquish ourselves of those who are running for office merely for their own personal satisfaction, and look at the whole picture of why a candidate is interested in becoming our next Chief Executive. Here in America, there is a calling for change. This change will bring the dreams to an awakening reality; that our forefather’s had envisioned about equality in this Great Nation. Not only will we feel the spirit of change, but the world will feel it’s meaning, and this message of change will echo throughout the world; that a brighter day has come forth. And with this change we will feel an emotional impact of unity, by weeding out all forms of segregation and racial tensions; the poison that has hindered this nation for far too long. This change is not about black or white, no; this change is not about man or women, this change is about the greater good for us all who believe that our freedom is at risk and a change is needed to bring this nation together once and for all. I feel that Obama’s quest for this change is a message that we should embrace, because it is time to use the Nonviolence Act of 1955 thru 1964, to create this change that is needed in our White House. No more talk, action is needed at the polls to make this happen.

Obama supporters, have you looked into his record in The Illinois Senate, or do you just believe his record because he told you so? His patron in the Senate, President of the Senate Jones, gave him the high profile bills to sponsor, also steered him away from the bills which would require much controversy one way or another. He also let him take credit for sponsoring bills that other Senators had done all the work on, causing much resentment by more experienced and harder working Senators. If Obama did all the work on the Illinois bills as he claims, then we would be able to see that work reflected in his notes, appointment books, etc. of that 8 years, right? Well, he had a choice to archive those papers, and didn’t, so now guess what? They’re “lost”, “maybe in storage”, he just can’t seem to find anything that would back up the rhetoric of how hard he worked in the Illinois Senate. More deflection of the true Obama, more reason to vote for McCain if people remain stupid enough to buy what this guy is selling.

One issue I don’t see mentioned in any news report is what has Obama done in his career for someone other than himself? The Clinton’s are always out there helping victims of aids, Katrina, poverty and you never hear anything that Obama does. The Clinton’s gave over 10 million to charity, the most Obama gave to charity was $220,000 to his racist church. A church who is paying 1.5 Million to built Preacher Wright a 10,000 sq. ft. house and giving him 10 Million in an account to boot.
People are quick to criticize the Clintons, but they are the ones out there taking up the cause and helping the unfortunate or victims of disaster-no matter what race, income, age, etc. It is a shame that so many people are lost in the empty rhetoric of Obama to see he is only in this race for himself and will DO NOTHING to help anyone else other than his cronies.

Obama seems like a good person however somewhat centered on himself and his immediate circle of influence. I would honestly trust him except for one thing. Coyotees live with coyotees wild turkeys with wild turkeys. Look for an example to OJ Simpson who are his close friends. I have a real problem that he does not seperate himself completely from a man who would say “God Damn America” the same government he would swear to defend possibly to his death. Then to have dealings with a known felon in buying land. Sometimes who we are is best detected by the mirror image of those we Choose to Associate with……. I will never trust someone like Obama he is an apple who came from the same tree if that is where he chooses to be on Sunday……..

The Clinton Foundation is a real operating foundation doing good work on many levels. It is still money donated to a Charity doing Charitable work. By this measure people would turn it against them if they gave hardly anything to their own foudation and the bulk to other Charities. Saying they don’t support their own charity and reading into that.
Guess what Bill Gates donates to his own Foundation as do many other major philanthropists.
Guess what else: In 2006 close to 70% of Obamas charitable donations went to: His church, the Black congresional caucus and the Muutu dance theatre. 25% was donated to CARE now this is an admirable organisation who also happens to do more than half their work in Africa. The other 5% went to miscellaneous charities.
Now before you all call me racist I assure you I am not. I simply saying if you want to analyse the candidates charitable donations do it for both.
If you were sincere then you would question why a person who promotes unity and supposedly doesn’t play to race makes 95% of his donations to black orientated charities.
Judge both equally. She is no saint but neither is he. It is time to stop letting him get away with “I was unaware” everytime something occurs.

Reality check people your stretching for something to condemn here.
Also Obama will then raise funds to pay for his Presidential Library and I would guess also start a foundation. I am going to take a guess here and say it will mainly support black advancement
type causes given his past history.

I am stunned that the income of an ex-president’s family far exceeds the pension and wife’s senatorial salary. That raises questions of whether the ex-president cashed in on services offered during his presidency or from books which may not have reflected the truth but embellishment and self promotion. On the other hand, in America we create and worship celebrities who empty the pockets of their fans at the cost of savings. Even though the most skilled work force is in the USA, jobs are going elsewhere because it simply costs less to produce things elsewhere. In the USA, the cost of doing business is astronomical when you add up legal costs, insurance, advertising, political contribution, lobbying contribution possibly make up 99% of the cost. The CEO’s who make millions even after making losses, the political, sports and hollywood stars are all a product of the people and in a democracy you can change that by ensuring that the people keep their money in their pockets and saving it instead of spending it on celebrity worship. Why is a multimillionaire working so hard and desperately to get an annual Presidential salary of $400,000 because as an ex-president you can cash in on the favors and make millions, afterwards. There are very few leaders of today who don’t accumulate wealth and want to hang on to power for that reason and it is not just dictators like Mugabe, Saddam Hussein, it is also democratically elected individuals and dynasties. Clintons and other celebrities are smart and skillful people and they are truly living the super-sized American dream paid for by the people. Whether they are truly for the people I am not so sure. I certainly will not be making any more campaign contribution or paying for a $1,000/dinner fund raiser or a $500 concert or a $500 ball game. Washington needs change if the only people around the country getting rich are their leaders in Washington.

Obama supporters horrified that the Clintons have made money. He is a Former President of the United States. He made $80 plus million from books and public speaking not Hillary. She made $10 million from her books. So because more people bought her book than Obamas earning her more royalities evidently that is also evil on her part.
To apply others logic; What the hell is a first term Senator doing running for President?
According to the formula of others. He was earning 200K a year as Senator, Michelle was earning 300K a year at Chicago hospitals plus over 50K for 2 board positions plus share options. Plus the ongoing royalties from baracks books.
So given President pays 400K the Obamas will dramatically drop in wages. They have a nice comfortable life in their $3 million mansion not living under the microscope in Chicago earning plenty. So it must be greed and ego and the fact that some success is never enough success.
Hardly the life of a someone struggling whilst not a multimillionaire.
Evidently it is more noble to relisih receiving money from the have nots rather than the haves. Strange how it is admirable to take money from someone who can only afford $5.00 to spare and shameful to take money from someone who can afford $1000.00. All honest donations but I know who I would be more comfortable taking money off.
Lucky we don’t donate to any succesful candidates. By the way who is the last struggling citizen who seriously ran for /won office. Not Kennedy, not Kerry, Not Bush (1 & 2) Not Romney, Not Edwards, Not Regan, Not Carter etc etc.
Yet all received financial support from citizens (yes even Romney) because people realised running for office is part of performing a civic service to their country.
Get off your high horses and stop trying to hold people to a different standard than that which you would live to.

To ‘The Lord of War’:
How can you speak so sure about the politician’s finances? Where their money came from and where it went to?
Listen – the truth is you can only say what you heard or read in the news like the rest of us. Let’s talk about the real issue – who has the best character and wisdom to be president. It is Obama and you know, it deep down inside – you are just in denial. Hillary is OK, but she just lost her composure and credibility when she; a. started lying. b. lied some more. c. lied again. And to top it off she is campaigning like a loser, not like a real president with integrity would. To be honest, I believe she got scared of losing when things got competitive with Obama and started listening to the wrong people about how to run her campaign. She should have stayed positive and been nice and honest -but nooooo- she had to go and start lying and mudslinging like some who is desperate and scheming. NOT PRESIDENTIAL AT ALL.

Obama wouldn’t know honesty if it jumped up and bit him…He’s nothing more than gutter trash.
He sat in the pews of a church and heard nothing in reference to his illustrious pastor that was derogatory……He realized how STUPID that sounded so, he launched this master speech that would set the record straight.. Even had the audacity(love this word) to tell US that WE had racial issues. I like that touch! I guess he would know coming from a racially charged atmosphere for two decades. Made this bit production of Hillary’s tax information which revealed nothing we didn’t already probably know. But, have received campaign contributions far exceeding their total 8 year gross income…Oh my goodness that one is crazy.
Took questionable donations from none other Tony Rezko……But was the only living soul in Chicago that didn’t know the dynamics associated to him. Didn’t know him still even though he sold you the house and lived right next door…… I love it!
Can’t be held responsible you were oblivious of everything that was going on around you. Receiving money from unregistered lobbyist, their families, as well as other business associates….. But, because they were unregistered it was OK……. Call that a little double standard wouldn’t you say? Didn’t understand the voting process while in the Senate and oops my Senate records mysteriously disappeared.. Yeah right! EVERYBODY is looking at him like maybe we have a nut loose.
He made this great BIG issue oh my god Hillary has embellished her trip to Bosnia she is not to be trusted…But you on the other hand…..This next one is one of my personal favorites he truly should be nominated for an award……….
Your father was airlifted into America by way of the Kennedy’s in 1959. Story brought a tear to my eye of how your parents were able to meet through the kindness of the Kennedy’s…….Unfortunately your father came here in 1960 the air lift had already occurred……So that says…. It never happened!

Exactly and that is why Obamas financial dealings are equally curious. Yet he constantly expects us to believe and accept all he has said.
He also has been shown to lie and lie again re political positions, friends, associates, political standards. How does he tout for superd’s to follow the will of the people whilst hold press confrences to claim endorsements from Kennedy and Richardson both of whoms states he lost. objects to Michigan results as he wasn’t on the ballot but got every name thrown off the ballot when he first ran for the legislature. His hypocrisy knows no bounds. Is on record saying he may have voted for war if he was in the Senate, but then shouts from the tree tops he was aginst it from the start. True its just he wasn’t for it in the middle. So if that is your standard where is the difference. He hasn’t played nice you just don’t want to see it.
Quite frankly like it or not its politics it rough and tumble. You all see him as this poor little sheep in the world of wolves he is a grown man and if he wants to be President he better start acting like one.

That is why Obama didn’t stand up for the Maytag employees who lost their jobs and Michelle while serving on the board of bay Valley voted to close a plant in Colorado putting hundreds out of work and decimating a small town. That the majority of Rezko’s violation took place in Obamas own district.

I visit many news sites (yes my life is sad hahaha) but one thing stands out. No matter who you support in the Democrats the passion is tremendously strong on both sides. Stronger that I have seen in my voting life. I cannot see a large number of voters on both sides switching allegiances for the good of the party. I believe Obama will win the battle (nomination) but I fear McCain just may win the war. Something I thought almost impossible for any Republican at the start of this year.
It is no good blaming either Obama or Clinton they both posted good results in differing ways validating them remaining in the race. Still if Clinton doesn’t pull out a big victory in PA then her justification for remaining in erodes dramatically.
Come August if they are seperated by under 100 votes and both short of the democratic standard of 2025 and no delegates from Mi and Fl are seated it is valid for Clinton to contest the convention. Many supporters on Obamas side won’t like it but that is how this party works. It is the parties fault for having a complicated delegate system. There is something to be said for the Republicans winner takes all approach.

I love the expression
“whatever it takes to win”
I think close exmination of all candidates on both sides will reveal this is mandatory for trying to win a nomination and thereby not unique to any one candidate. They all can tick that box if only we care enough to see clearly.

When I do take the time to read the comments on one of these news articles it amazes me to find that there is still so much ignorance in this country. I’m referencing all the people who comment here, or anywhere else, without reading and/or knowing all the facts about all the candidates for example. Then there are the people who are so blatantly prejudice whether it be pertaining to race, sex, sexual preference, age, political party, money made, money aquired, or whatever else they can find to be prejudiced about.
Let’s check out that equation..hmmm…Ignorance + Prejudice =
MORE IGNORANCE and PREJUDICE. I’m so happy that we have the right of FREE SPEECH. Reading these comments gives me a laugh a day and helps strengthen my theory that there’s no fool like an old fool because 50 years ago I mistakenly believed the world would be a better place by the time I had grandchildren. Silly Me!

I agree that voters have turned out in record numbers.
The problem is that it is more to do with candidate identity: female vs black than policy.
The war is despised but still it is not the number one reason for voting for either of these candidates. Nor is the economy. Nor is health. The anti Bush factor in general figures strongly but overridingly most voters have a very strong empathy with their preferred democratic candidate. An empathy that rallies them to debate. That foreshadows potential protests and possible violence. Empathy that is so strong that it has developed into an all or nothing mentality; with anything up to 30 odd percent of voters catergorically stating they will abstain from a vote in the general election rather than simply vote for the party if their candidate is unsuccessful. That is a huge number from random selections. Prehaps the passage of time between nomination and November will lessen this angst in some but who knows?
Another term of Republicans is not inconceivable.
Posted by: strikes me | April 6, 2008, 10:34 am 10:34 am
Let us not forget that Clinton left office with a 65% approval rating and the Democrats lost the White House.
So even with a Bush approval rating of 30-35% it is very possible for Republicans to retain office.

Hillary has more dirt in her closet than Obama and McCain put together. And if you dont think the Republicans will use this against her if she were to “win” the nomination, Than we are all in for a shock come Nov!

It amazes me to see the people in these blogs that don’t have a clue. Tell you what I grew up in the inner city, I have come across all kinds of people. I know the Obama’s in the world very well. With the information that I do know to be factual….it isn’t hard from me to fill in the unknown. Wouldn’t put anything pass him. I am disturbed by MY BLACK PEOPLE for following this scam artist so blindly…why are they? Because of the color of his skin. During this whole campaign he has used them terribly. Feeding them all they want to hear. Telling them they’re trying bamboozle, hook wink yah and “they out to get you yah” like we have not a brain in our heads, and need him to save the day…. He is using them to help him do is dirty work….This man has so much financial support from avenues like CNN, YAHOO, for example, they are controlling what is being fed to the media. Wanna know how I know? I’ll sit on that for awhile….. Money, and those tall tales he tells are buying him this election. He knows MOST black people are so removed and unfamiliar with politics that’s how he controls them, that’s how is lies are able to fly. There are quite a lot of them that may not have resources such as computers to verify any of his tall tales….He SICKENS me, and I think SOME of my people are starting to wake up… Oh what did he say yeah “Holla” So, you poor innocent folk that don’t know, can’t tell me anything about Obama.

One closing note and I’ll be done you can do what you do in here….Before I would sit back and let this dangerous man take office, I’d vote in McCain and if he picks Huckabee as VP is’t a sure win….

mgck claims to have a masters degree. Maybe he does. But I have to question his dislike for Obama, yet his adoration for Hillary, the proven liar? I have learnt that you dont trust liars, so how is it someone with a masters degree would support someone that can not be trusted?
Obama has higher morals, hes intelligent, likeable, and wants to clean up Washington!
Lets end the Bush/Clinton legacy this Nov!

Attention all Americans who believe in a fair race: Obama’s Illinois strategy is being used again here in the Dem race … in Illinois, he got a team of lawyers together who poured through the paperwork of the opposing candidates and found technical errors in their filing papers which Obama then used to succeed in having them disqualified from the race … so Obama ran unopposed. Sound familiar???
This is a matter of public record as reported by numerous “news” outlets, including the Chicago Tribune, who has endorsed Obama.
Here again, Obama is trying to drive out the competition so that he can run unopposed. It isn’t hard to see why the media is helping him: all that campaign money he’s raising … where does it go? For media ads and coverage … he’s a cash cow for the media.
Now Obama is trying the same dirty tricks and tactics to try to secure an unopposed run as the Dem nominee. We, the people, need to stop him. No matter how you feel about the candidates, the process of electing our next Dem nominee needs to be democratic and open … not a one-way, unopposed ticket for the media’s cash cow.

Why do people hate other people who have money? What happened to the American dream of success, and the possibility that in America we have a chance to become wealthy, and that being born into wealth is no longer a limiting factor?

I am not able to go into detail. It’s not my call. Obama and who he is will all come out in the wash…But, I’ll say this much, if you vote for him and he wins. The only person you can blame is YOU….Good Luck!

Just look at this way; any money donated to Hiliary is a good investment. How can you go wrong? It is obvious BC know how to make money. So if I donated my $100.00 now, i will certainly get it back quickly when the Clintons get back in office. If the price of gas goes back to $2.75/gal it won’t take long to get that money back. Let’s hire the Clinton for the WH again so we can make money as well. From history we know that they are willing to share unlike the Rep who want every billion for themselve and who certainly is above trying to sabotage the American people by trickery. No way Obama can win just another Republican trick. Vote HC 08.

As much as they have made – good for them – it is as clean an income as you can get. The only thing Andrea Mitchell could pick up on was an investment in Dubai through a New York partner, which to anyone is an attempt to smear the content. She and her NBC-MSNBC gang never wanted to bother a small fact that their candidate contributed less than 1% to charity in their combined husband-wife lives, except the year before BO runs for the President, while the Clintons contributed 10% – not 9% as Mitchell tried to diminish.

shame on the Clintons for, essentially, taking advantage of loopholes in the tax system to, really, advantage themselves. ——————
Obaviously you didn’t read the story above. The CLinton’s did not take advantage of tax loopholes, tehy apid over 315 in tx while most people in their income bracket pay 20%. The Clinton’s have always given close to 10% or more of their income to charity, Obama’s less than 1% until he started to run for President. There are over 30 years of Clinton tax returns, more than any other public servant, on the web, go look for yourself, but here is an example:
1998 Income $197,651 Charity $18,114 9%
1990 Income $268,646 Charity $36,875 13.7%
1998 Income $504,109 Charity $161,938 32%
1999 Income $416,039 Charity $39,200 9.4%

Neither of the Clinton’s were raised with privilege, they worked in public service for the whole of their life. Bill Clinton’s salary as governor of Arkansas was $35,000 a year. He too could have pursued more lucrative opportunities especially since he was a Rhodes Scholar.
The Obama’s live in luxury too. Michelle was raised in a family where her father made over $42000 a year in the 1970s, that is only the average salary now. Both the Clinton’s went to public schools growing up as compared to Obama who went to an Elite preparatory High School and Michelle who went to a magnet school in Chicago.
Both the Clinton’s worked in out reach programs in their youth and after college, Hillary pushed for years for child advocacy and women’s rights. Obama was not a community organizer after Harvard, he was a community organizer before Harvard, once he graduated from Harvard he went directly to work for a law firm.
Both the Clinton’s have worked for the rights of people all their lives, and they have lived the lower middle class and middle class life between them. They know what people are experiencing, they have not forgotten just because in the last seven years since Bill left the presidency he has been able to make money. Who cares if you are white, what does that have to do with anything? .

What has Obama done for the African American and help fight AIDS? And, where was Obama for MLK day this week? It you look at the type of people, churches and group that are working around the world to feed the hungry, providing clean waters to the poor and helping fight aids, they are White people. Most white people are quick to give up their life and go to another country to help the poor. We should be proud of the Clintons and Bill Gate for their parts in fighting HIV and AIDS. I as an African American want to say thank you to the Clintons, Bill Gate and other White people that willing to go the extra miles to help others.

I’m wondering who donated to the Clinton Library. How they funded the Senatorial Race shortly after when Bill Clinton was in “debt” after the white house. There definitely had to be deals with people, that essentially were responsible for the Presidential Library as well as the Campaign. I know that for certain there are rules with the FEC and for campaign finances. They should check to make sure the rules are and were being followed.
Posted by: Maurice | April 6, 2008, 7:42 pm 7:42 pm
Maurice you are wondering. The deals you are speculating about are just that. Surely since the Clinton every meal, daily trash, dirty linen is and has been investigated on a day to day basis don’t you think that if there was any thing for the FEC to review they would have been turned over to them long before now. Since the Clinton Library is usch an issue who donated to all the other Presidential Libraries, esp. GHWB. I would be more concern about the people who want to donate to GWB Library than the one that has already donated to BC. It amazing thatthat it is necessary to wonder about things that people can criticized HC for. The truth is if Obama had not interjected himself in this campaign with his halo promises of change and hope, the majority of us would have been happy to see Hiliary Clinton win the nomination. The Clinton has already had to deal with more investigations than practically any other politician in this country and the
only thing that came from it was the “parade” of a blue dress. WE should be so lucky to HC in the White House so that we can began to recovery ffrom the many atrocities being inflicted on the American people now. The sooner the Rep are out office, the sooner we can have someone from day one to immediately put a stop to some of GWB and his cronies mean spirited policies. Hiliary 08.

To all Clinton apologists: 90% of the “Charity” money the Clintons so generously donated was given to their own Clinton Foundation. If you think Hill can relate to the struggles of the average American, you’re sadly mistaken. She hasn’t driven herself anywhere in at least 10 years, hasn’t waited in a line anywhere, and has more in common now with the Bush/Cheney families than with you and me.

The Clinton Foundation is a Charitable Foundation look it up on Google. It is not a savings and loan account they can make withdrawals from. The Clintons have many flaws but don’t try and read something awful into everything. They donated 10 million to charity end of story.
By the same token if you want to take that tact then I guess you are equally dismayed that 95% of the Obamas charitable donations were to Black centric organisations such as the Black congressional caucus, united trinity church, muutu dance theatre, a charity devoted to overseas aid in africa and asia. This is all from someone who sees himself as an American first and foremost.
In ten years time if Obama wins the Presidency he will still be youger than the Clintons are now and will have not driven himself anywhere etc etc.
Also how tough do you think a family living in an upper chicago area in a 3 million dollar home with a yearly combined income of half a million (pre nomination campaign) plus book royalties are actually doing it. They had nannies and housekeepers whilst they were both working. Do you think they did much lining up for stuff??? They holiday and socialise with the likes of Penny Pritzker worth 2.8 BILLION last count and take vacations in Hawaii every Christmas and recently the Virgin islands.
Now good luck to them I am not saying they haven’t worked hard but if you think they are everyday folks you are kidding yourself.
How everyday do you think they will be at the end of all this even 2 years from now.

Bill Clinton and his foundation went out and assisted New Orleans as soon as Katrina happened and are still helping.

that pretty much covers the 8.5 million debt.

The Clinton Foundation saves millions of people with AIDS in Africa, helps to save the Earth with global warming, helps to reduce obesity of children in America, …. What is wrong donating money to the cause you believe in? Why you Obama people as phony as he is himself? What has Obama done lately for Africa, or for America, besides giving speeches and being educated and mentored by a hatemonger who wants God D— America?
