Clinton vs. O’Reilly: The Interview

ABC News’ Eloise Harper Reports: Hillary Clinton vs. Bill O’Reilly – it’s finally going to happen.

First reported exclusively by the Drudge Report, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., will appear in a pre-taped interview on Wednesday’s edition of "The O’Reilly Factor" on FOX News.

Neither Clinton nor Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., have appeared on the conservative talk show host’s popular program although an Obama staffer famously tangled with O’Reilly at a New Hampshire event in January.

Marvin Nicholson, a veteran of Sen. John Kerry’s, D-Mass., 2004 presidential campaign, put his 6′ 8" frame between O’Reilly, his cameraman, and Obama.

Upset with Nicholson, O’Reilly maneuvered around a steel gate barricade, yelled expletives, and called Obama’s national trip director "low class."

Secret Service quickly stepped in and told O’Reilly to get back. After the commotion, Obama shook hands with O’Reilly but has yet to go as far as Clinton, agreeing to appear one-on-one with the often combative host.

O’Reilly did attend a Clinton rally on the same day as the aforementioned Obama incident.  The Democratic crowd booed but Clinton complimented him on his willingness to show up at the event.

The much anticipated interview will take place via satellite with Clinton in South Bend, Indiana, on Wednesday.

ABC News’ Sunlen Miller contributed to this report.

Obama has to have a Neanderthal protect him from a TV personality like O’Reilly. Hillary, on the other hand, isn’t afraid. This is just one of the staggering differences between fragile ‘lil Obama and Hillary.

Was it one of Farrakhan’s thugs who protected Wright?

Posted by: geevill | April 29, 2008, 1:32 pm 1:32 pm

Obama doesn’t want to answer the tough questions about his character that O’Reilly would invariably ask. Unlike many in the awestruck media, O’Reilly would definitely ask Obama why he didn’t leave Wright’s church and publicly take him to task for saying America created the AIDS virus to kill African Americans. He’d also ask Obama why he has maintained a friendship with Bill “the bomber” Ayers.
Hillary knows O’Reilly would also ask her tough questions, but the chief difference is that she isn’t afraid. Virtually everything about her life has already been rummaged through, and still she remains the stronger, smarter, and more competent candidate.

NOW that’s one TOUGH, BRAVE woman ! ALWAYS ready to take on whatever crosses her path . Gotta love her courage.

In my most humble opinion, it appears as though Rev. Wright and the Michigan branch of the NAACP are on Hillary Clinton’s side. They are out to make Obama look bad, and they are doing a really good job.
They want Hillary to win.
They need Hillary to win.
They loved the Clinton years.
They want a Clintonpeat.
So, Rev. Wright, the Michigan branch of the NAACP, and most people of Michigan want Hillary to win. Rumor has it, that Rev. Wright is on Hillary’s payroll. So watch this, as May 6 approaches, Rev Wright’s comments and appearances will intensify. Obama will look bad, voters to loose trust, and Hillary will come out smelling like roses.
In addition, Rev Wright is making all of the church leaders and preachers of all RACES look really, really bad. Now that’s sad!!!!
Hey, Gov. Mike Easley…welcome to the team!!!
btw…REV WRIGHT DOES NOT REPRESENT THE BLACK CHURCH

Hillary decided to go on O’reilly because Fox is one of the only outlets she has left that allows her to spew her lies, without correcting her! So of course it would make sense that she go on there.

Posted by: ron | April 29, 2008, 1:55 pm 1:55 pm

O’Reilly usually wimps out on these pre-taped interviews. Remember his less-than-incisive interview of Michael Moore? I expect the same here.

Posted by: Dan | April 29, 2008, 2:01 pm 2:01 pm

Bill O’Reilly is a jerk. He LOVES to degrade people on this show, especilly women.I doesn’t interview he bashes. I hope Hillary gets what she deserves. This is one place where she might be able to spread all her lies…For sure they will rack Obama over the coals.

Posted by: catcall | April 29, 2008, 2:02 pm 2:02 pm

Hopefully Bill asks her why her supporters organized Wright’s press conferences.
and what she thinks Ahmadenijad is going to do with her comments of “obliterating Iran with nuclear weapons” (if she hasn’t seen the video propaganda he is passing around to friends and allies talking about protecting themselves from the warmongering usa…with getting nuclear weapons…you know just to defend themselves)
or maybe ask her how she is going to take our troops out of Iraq but going to set up an umbrella of protection for the rest of the middle east on our dime.
This woman is the worst candidate we have ever seen.
…and maybe Bill will even go into her scandals that she has never once publicly been asked about…or answered or why those have been off limits in this campaign.
She will bring us down in the vision of the world more than even John McCain at this point. Get rid of this candidate.

Farrakhan and Wright had called Judaism a gutter religion, sided wih terrorists looking for the destruction of Israel. Obama by his 20-year close relationship at best condones this hate and judging by his anti-Semitic foreign advisers shares at least some hostility towards Israel and Jews.

I THINK HILLARY IS REALLY A REPUBLICAN IN SHEEPS CLOTHING.

Why is Hillary advertising in Indiana about a factory her husband Bill Clinton closed?
Why is the media covering up this story?

Posted by: Dan | April 29, 2008, 2:16 pm 2:16 pm

I wonder if HRC will answer to why Rev Wright was invited to the White during the Cliton years. Doesn’t that make her guilty by association like Obama? I mean – this is America, there are not two standards we go by…one for whites and the other for blacks..is there?

Hey ya’ll I am right here in Indianapolis and we are excited about the election! Hillary is going to win here! The Republicans are coming out strong for her. No because Rush is teeling them to vote for Hillary but they know if McCain can’t pull it off they would rather have Hillary than BO as president!!
Hoosiers for Hillary!

I’m disappointed that Hillary is going to give legitimancy to this neocon shill. He represents the lowest element of the non-news, conservative, propaganda channel FOX. Shame on you Hillary for pandering to this creep.

Posted by: JR | April 29, 2008, 2:37 pm 2:37 pm

I can tell by the replies that this very much angers the Obama supporters.
Obama is too much a WIMP to face Oreilly.
So here come the Obama SPIN MASTERS to explain why somehow.
Dont worry. Oreilly will be TOUGH on Clinton.
Obama supporters are DEFINITLY worried that Clinton will take the heat, forcing tremendous pressure on Obama to come on, where he will not look as good as Clinton.
Obama never looks as good when the heat is on as Clinton does.
So he will have to look like a tool on his show, or refuse to come on, making him look even more like a wimp compared to Clinton.

Posted by: tomdavie | April 29, 2008, 2:37 pm 2:37 pm

This is true. If it isn’t scripted BO can’t respond. Yes, he already looks bad becasue he won’t talk to O’Reilly or debate Hillary again.

h
Hillary is interviewing with O’Riley and Obama is not. A really clever person could figure out that it’s a good move on her part.
On the other hand, you rant and rave and indulge in cheap assertions. I guess that’s the way you see life.

Posted by: Aston | April 29, 2008, 2:58 pm 2:58 pm

askthetuffquestions I hope O’Reilly asks her the tough questions also.
One thing you can say about Clinton and she shows up, stands up and whether you like her answers or not she’s got the backbone to be willing to take the heat for them. Like the Kyle-Lieberman vote. Obama attacks her for her “yes” vote when he didn’t even have the “audacity” to show up and cast a vote. He had a rally (which it turned out he didn’t) and his other excuse was he didn’t know the vote was going to be called (he’s a U.S. Senator and there are planes). No, Obama pulled his usual I won’t vote (or if I do I’ll vote “present” or mix up the voting buttons so I can say “I voted this but meant to vote that) and take the political flak but then when it serves my purposes down the road I’ll say ” Clinton’s judgement was flawed” or point out how poor her judgement was in comparison to mine and hope my supporters are enamored with me enough to continue to not do their homework and then find out I never showed up.
Supporters of Obama, when will begin to do your homework? Again, whether one agrees with how Clinton cast her vote on Kyle-Lieberman at least she showed up, stood up, cast a vote and was willing to take the political flak for it. That’s character. That’s what is needed in a leader. And that’s someone who has a backbone.

Where is your courage John Edwards. Your wife likes Hillary’s health plan. Her plan would be good for America. Come on John, get on board with your wife and support Hillary. You know it will be impossible for Obama to win NC, but Hillary just might do well in your state in November.

Posted by: Jake | April 29, 2008, 3:16 pm 3:16 pm

You know I really despise Bill O’Reilly, but the fact of the matter is that in order to bring people together, someone has to be willing to budge. Hillary Clinton has been shrugging off her ego and giving both sides a chance to talk with her. How does Obama, who claims he is a uniter, thinks he can do this by writing off people that don’t agree with him? Hillary has even been able to work with the same people that tried to impeach her husband. It is because she cares more about helping the country than inflating her own ego, unlike B.O. who seems unable to function unless he hears people chanting his name.

Posted by: Andrea | April 29, 2008, 3:22 pm 3:22 pm

When Obama got on Fox news Sunday, all the Hillary supporters complained Obama was legitimizing Fox. Now that Hillary is on O’reily they claim Hillary is the one with courage because Obama only goes to friendly media (of course ignoring the Sunday Fox interview).

Posted by: X marks the spot | April 29, 2008, 3:37 pm 3:37 pm

tomdavie, people including Newt and Karl Rove believe that Wright is now in Hill’s camp, that is the concern every smart politician has to think off. They were asking Obama if he was black enough because his mother is white. So Hill and Bill have convinced Wright to support them and let down his adopted son. That is crual even in politics. But Hill the Bosnian General is unelectable, that is the reality she has to face. But life is always difficult gfor leaders who want to unite and easy for leaders who want to divide. Obama is in the first category which is Great leaders and Hill the Bosnian General is in the second category of leaders. God bless America and God bless Obama.OBAMA08.

Posted by: BKMC | April 29, 2008, 3:37 pm 3:37 pm

X marks the spot — I didnt see Clinton people do that; if so they were wrong. BUT, when Clinton met with and got an endorsement from Scaiffe, and news reports showed that Fox had been more sympathetic to Clinton, Obama’s supporters said that’s because she wants to legitimate them and she is a rightwingnut.

Posted by: tony | April 29, 2008, 3:42 pm 3:42 pm

Obama’s interview on fox was the biggest SOFTBALL LOVEFEST I have seen on fox since Hannity interviewd Mc Cain.
Oreilly is not some softball interviewer. Hillary has the guts to go on there and Obama wont.
Obama doesnt do well when confronted away from the telepromted answers.
Oreilly will press Obama for SPECIFICS. Challenge him on inconsistencies. Obama doesnt do well under those circumstances.
I dont think Obama will ever agree to it.
What should Obama do?
Go on Hannity and Combes and try to fake his way thru that one. Perhaps Hannity will take it easy on Obama because he is an extremely fractured candidate.
Then again. I doubt it.
Obama needs to go back to Obermann and his lovers on MSNBC.

Posted by: tomdavie | April 29, 2008, 3:49 pm 3:49 pm

I actually think Clinton supporters are either better educated or have a better grasp of the issues. Obama supporters seem to engage more in personal attacks of Rush, Clinton, McCain, Bush — anybody.
I guess that, if you can’t justify your candidate, you resort to whatever means it takes to make you feel good about him. Still, there’s something amiss when a person can’t discern or discuss issues.

Posted by: Aston | April 29, 2008, 3:54 pm 3:54 pm

Anyone who expects to be President needs to speak with even those Americans with whom they strongly disagree if they truly are going to represent the people. I applaud her for having an interview with him as I would hope McCain would do with those at MSNBC. I want to hear each candidate, Obama, Clinon, McCain have to deal with answering questions in an uncomfortable format and not just those who will provide softball questions.
We know that if they cannot even confront opposition news media in this country how do we expect them to deal with hostile foreign governments and hostile foreign press?

Posted by: Allen | April 29, 2008, 3:56 pm 3:56 pm

Please, at this point it’s hard to distinguish MSNBC, CNN, Huffington, and Daily Kos from O’Reilly. They are all so unfair and imbalanced, its ridiculous.
“I’m disappointed that Hillary is going to give legitimancy to this neocon shill. He represents the lowest element of the non-news, conservative, propaganda channel FOX. Shame on you Hillary for pandering to this creep.”

Apparently Hillary has more confidence in herself than you do of yourself.

Posted by: Aston | April 29, 2008, 3:57 pm 3:57 pm

I think Fox News is changing to try and stay relevant. I doubt O’Reilly goes after her much; I think Fox realizes the country is shifting away from the politics they were preaching.
On the other hand, I think it would be silly to presume that any lovefest with Senator Clinton by Fox News would last past the nomination.
It seems she has finally come to peace with the ‘vast right wing conspiracy’. Good for her… That is unless this is being done for political expediency, but she is not known to do that, right?

Posted by: MIguy | April 29, 2008, 3:58 pm 3:58 pm

Agree with you Allen…

Posted by: MIguy | April 29, 2008, 4:02 pm 4:02 pm

The interesting thing is that for a large part of this campaign, the media were fixated on how Obama inspires, and that he has a message of “hope” and “change” and that he wants to bring a “new kind of politics.” His surrogates and supporters were running around talking about not wanting Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton, and that he represents a return to Camelot. NONE OF THIS HAS TO DO WITH POLICY! But it made him look good, and he did not complain. Now, that nonpolicy stuff is hurting him, all I hear are pleas for policy. Sounds like a flip flop. When Clinton complained that we need to look at specifics and that you govern in prose not poetry – she was called a cynic. Now everyone wants to talk policy all of a sudden. Why?

Posted by: tony | April 29, 2008, 4:05 pm 4:05 pm

@X marks the spot:
It seems that supporters on all sides seem to wear blinders when it comes to their candidate.
The election/nomination seems to be slipping once again into “do not vote for X candidate” rather than “here are the reasons to vote for X candidate”.

Posted by: MIguy | April 29, 2008, 4:11 pm 4:11 pm

tony
Why?
Because people are coming to realize that the ‘hope’ Obama uses to inspire is void of substance. People are now looking for a direction and a candidate that can lead the nation through the labyrinth.

Posted by: Aston | April 29, 2008, 4:11 pm 4:11 pm

Please, like this is some big surprise. The conservatives are the ones donating to her campaign. She made a pact with Rupert Murdoch and Richard Scaife, the big conservative media men, If they will lay off her, she will help them in destroying Obama. And this is the first case where she has ever been true to her word.

Posted by: Eileen from Maine | April 29, 2008, 4:25 pm 4:25 pm

@X marks the spot: Absolutely. I tend to think that most Americans don’t follow the small stuff. I also think many people have visceral reactions to candidates that dictate their vote; then the process is “intellectualized” to justify the decision. It’s also easier for people to vote against someone than “for” someone, as the latter requires a personal investment or commitment.

Posted by: MIguy | April 29, 2008, 4:32 pm 4:32 pm

LOL, this is just a broke Hillary trying to get free airtime. Obama is running a better campaign and doesn’t need to sacrifice himself to O’Reilly. Hillary is no longer controlling her campaign and is begging for debates and trying to get as much airtime as she can.

Posted by: Bea | April 29, 2008, 5:07 pm 5:07 pm

A lot of voters watch his show, even many Hillary supporters since the liberal media became so biased, so this is great news.

Posted by: sarnorton | April 29, 2008, 5:11 pm 5:11 pm

Why are Obama supporters so against Hillary going on O’Riley’s show. Of course they use the absolutely worthless excuse of ‘free air time’ but I think that’s just a smokescreen to downplay Clinton’s nerve. She’s quite adept at using all the techniques available. What’s wrong with that? And what would Obama’s apologists say f it were him going on O’Riley’s show?
Hmmmm

Posted by: Aston | April 29, 2008, 5:11 pm 5:11 pm

That is what we need as POTUS. A fighter who does not back down be it O’Reilly or a debate anywhere. Obama on the other hand refuses to have another debate. He says we already have 21…yes but not everyone saw those debates. He is just afraid that without the teleprompter and a friendly moderator he will look like a fool again…remember the Pennsylvania debate.

If Hillary is willing to be interviewed by pompous blowhard Keith Olbermann the night before the PA primary, and now she is willing to be interviewed by Olbermann’s alter ego, O’Reilly, well maybe there is some substance to this woman after all. Unlike namby pamby Obama who’s too scared to debate.

Posted by: rs | April 29, 2008, 5:15 pm 5:15 pm

Hillary is quite adept at using all the techniques available, such as loaning her own money to her campaign to win at all cost. I will watch and see how she responds to the “Screw Um” quote and how she isn’t able to keep her husband from screwing her over, time and time again.

Posted by: Mark | April 29, 2008, 5:18 pm 5:18 pm

No matter what anyone thinks of FOX and O’Reilly, it is a smart move for Hillary to show up. I am to this point a McCain supporter but do give Hillary credit for not ignoring the FOX network because face it, there are a whole lot of us independents out here who consider FOX one of the few that are fair to all politicians. If boht Democrats are smart they would have another debate hosted by the FOX channel and we would see how jurnalists are supposed to act.

Posted by: LLADNARC | April 29, 2008, 5:19 pm 5:19 pm

Posted by: Ed | April 29, 2008, 5:23 pm 5:23 pm

yeah, can you say, we don’t have enough money for ad buys so we’ll take any interview we can get. I hear she is going to appear on Sesame Street next, maybe the Rush Limbaugh show after that. Why does Senator Clinton support and advocate O’Reilly’s views on sexism and sexual harassment in the workplace?

Posted by: Louis | April 29, 2008, 5:24 pm 5:24 pm

Well of course she’ll appear. She’l just lie her way through it, then make up lame excuses about the lies, then blame a right wing conspiracy, then take money form the main ‘right wing conspirator’. She’s shameless and horrid. Wake up, America, Get rid of pandering , say anything politicians. Vote Barack

This is politics baby, if you can’t take the heat get out of the kitchen. When two boxers step into the ring, you dont expect them to play patty-cake, they duke it out. That is what politics is all about. Did Obama think it was going to be a bed of roses, the bro can’t hang. We certainly don’t need no weak link running the country, geez.

I suspect Bill O’Reilly is under strict orders to use kid gloves on Hillary. The GOP wants Obama and Clinton to be neck and neck fighting each other until the convention. If O’Reilly shreds Hillary, she’ll look bad and lose many of her low-income male white voters that she needs. O’Reilly also wants to prove his “fair and balanced” claim. In addition, everyone knows Hillary doesn’t have a chance of getting nominated. Fox and O’Reilly have nothing to gain from attacking the also-ran here.

Expect only the best behavior from O’Reilly. Remember, it’s in the best interest of his party to make Hillary the democratic nominee in order to guarantee McCain a victory in November. You think Hillary would agree to interview if there was nothing in it for her?? Oh, please!

Posted by: foxisms | April 29, 2008, 6:40 pm 6:40 pm

Ida is right that Hillary is far and away the one to handle tough situations and think through things….I always though that Fox was doing the white house bidding but in the primary season they have been more realistic about things all this rosy talk about Obama is just that there are too may questions most of which he wont answer… and today saying that wright does not speak for him and he is upset with him etc that just is too little too late you can sit silent for 20 yrs and then all of a sudden say well he doesnt speak for me that is disingenuous you cannot vote for someone soley on the way they make you feel or uncociously because they are attractive to you etc(the former being what most Obama people cite as their devotion to him) it just isnt right and most registered dems that have voted that way all their life know it too

Posted by: staniam | April 29, 2008, 6:43 pm 6:43 pm

Don’t worry. O’Reilly isn’t nearly as sleazy as Russet, Mitchell, and Matthews who will do anything to get BO elected. Yes, O’Reilly is a Republican, but Hillary can handle it and I admire her for going on the show.

Posted by: Barry | April 29, 2008, 6:43 pm 6:43 pm

O’Reilly is pompus perverted bully. Trailing with an impossible chance to win, as she’s oftem demonstrated, she’ll do anything. But what is this? What good could it possibly do to go on any Faux show? Is she such an egomaniac she thinks they really like her? Doesn’t she know they want her to stay in, hoping the infighting will set the Democrates back. They want her to continue negative campaigning to help them put their presidential campaign playbook together. The only viewers on that network that will ever vote for her are the crossover republican dittoheads that do so in open primaries just to try and keep things stirred up. No if she were REALLY tough and true to her word she’d tell O’Reilly to take a flying leap.

Posted by: Flint | April 29, 2008, 6:45 pm 6:45 pm

There is plenty in it for her fox, primarily a national stage to make her case – since her opponent is trying to buy the nomination by out spending her 3 to 1.
Obama and McCain are tied in electability polls while Senator Clinton beats McCain by 9 points, about the same number she will beat obama by in Indiana. Hillary’08

McCain( a60,s democract under republican label) on the other hand will continue the current republican party sell out of the country with Ted Kennedy.

Whoever suggested that Clinton appear on the Bill O’Reilly show is a very smart person indeed. Bill O’Reilly has not always had the best things to say about Clinton; but, to appear on the show despite that adds to her case of being a “fighter” and “fearless” toward the Republican party. Again, I must say that this is a smart move for her.
Senator Obama should do the same. Will he? I doubt it. But, it would be smart if he were to do so.

Hillary is obviously just looking for ways to allow her campaign to still be revelant. I gaurentee you that she will be badgered with inane, politically unimportant questions, give a bunch of contrite and partial answers and afterwards regret going on there in the first place.
I can’t believe that she won’t agree to meet with opposing country leaders and yet schedules an interview with O’Reilly under any conditions.

I must be honest. Hilary and Obama both bring strength to our country. Millions of women and millions of black people feel empowered watching great people speak up for our nation. No where else in the world can all people of color and gender speak genuinely using all of our advanced media outlets and avenues of speech. America is at her best. I am a Republican woman and I support McCain. I believe he is the best candidate. I do have improved health and vision watching Hilary reach her potential and Barack learn to care about America. I am deeply moved by this campaign. This campaign is good for America. I strongly support the contest that we face. May the best person win! God Bless America.

IN RESPONSE TO THE COMMENT BELOW…. The poster indicates that Hillary looks best when the heat is on….Yeah, she looked great dodging that sniper fire in Bosnia…great candidate you’ve got there! The woman admitted in the last debate that she lied and I can’t believe my fellow dems are still supporting this liar! She’s really starting to look like a Republican…If she get the nomination, I will NOT vote in this election!

I mean wow ..only when his feelings are hurt does he strike back. Hillary 08

Neither Hillary or Obama will have a problem with that old HOGJOWEL. I do however fear the US public who perhaps for the very same reasons they observed GWB debate and thought to themselves “yes, I want this guy to lead our nation” … may do the same thing. The candidates do not scare me… anyone with an ounce of intelligence can readily see who is fit to lead, but the US public… now THAT is another story.

The way Obama thinks through answers as he gives them, with stutters at the beginning while he finds the right word reminds me of a professor. It is different, not deficient and cultural prejudice towards people who stutter as somehow mentally less facile is one of those things millions of people live with. Kennedy did it and I’m sure he was unprepared too.

The only thing I recall Hillary saying is that Wright wouldn’t be her pastor. That’s pretty much what Obama said today….20 years later.

Posted by: PGHPAVOTER | April 29, 2008, 9:39 pm 9:39 pm

Rich that was fantastic
“I am a white male who is sixty-seven years old and I have been a democrat for all of my voting life. I am a high school graduate, I served in the U.S.Navy for four years, I have been a union electrician for over forty-five years, and I have been blessed with a nice family. And I have had the same wonderful woman for forty-nine years. I have followed this primary with a close scrutiny. I have never been a crusader for any cause, but I think its time to send some new blood to Washington,D.C. and maybe we’ll get away from some of the staleness that we’ve had. Mr. Obama isn’t perfect according to his own words, but Mrs. Clinton is part of the stagnation of the past two decades.
Mrs. Clinton is not a fighter, but she is a divider. She sat on a Walmart board for six years and evidently concurring with her associates that because someone was fortunate enough to belong to a union that they were “BLOOD SUCKING LEACHES”, ETC.. She promoted NAFTA, she made miraculous overnight deals in stocks, she doesn’t deal with truthfulness very well, and she’s tied to all the old political cronies of Bill Clinton. I don’t think she is tough. I think she is on a vendetta to destroy the political system we all covet so much. Americans deserve so much more than someone of her character.”
I am 46 years of age make about 90k per year yet i am living paycheck to paycheck thanks to the Clintons and Bushes. Its nothing short of remarkable how retarded some democrats are in rooting for a Clinton 3rd term because thats essentially what you get. Do you think Bill will be locked in a closet somewhere? How long before the first scandal?? The first Intern?? The first Lie?? Do people not realize that this is a democracy not a Monarchy?? Imagine the late night bed conversation between Hillary and Bill?? “wow i cant beleive how retarded and stupid the american voter is to actually vote us back in for another 8 years and 3rd term” I have 2 young duaghters aged 16 and 11 and they hate the Clintons and see thru the phony persona they present. Thank God I raised them right. If Hillary somehow steals this nomination and it looks more like she is capable of this after paying off Rev Wright. I will not vote for Mcain i will move to canada because then i will truly be ashamed to be an American. The desperate change this country needs will not happen under Clinton or Mcain. Hillary is not a tough woman fighter by going on oreilly its called desperation folks. calling for more debates?? What about the debates she ducked during her senate run in 2000 and 2006?? Barack Obama cannot should not win the nomination and if he does cannot win the general elections..I do not know how a sensible man like Obama believes that white people are going to vote him for president in the general election..they would vote in the primary to make people believe that race is not an issue but when they are faced with a choice on general election between a black man(half black)but considered black(one drop theory)..and a white person they would vote regardless of party affiliation..Black people have been voting for white candidates for many years and now that they are voting for barack all of a sudden they are not smart voter anymore..Were it not for the black vote Bill Clinton would not have been president for two terms..Blacks have been the most loyal voting block for the democratic party and they are always taken for granted..well lets see if Blacks are going to vote for Hillary if the superdelegates decide to choose Her as the nominee..I doubt it!. Blacks may stay home and if that happens then the democrats would lose…Here come McCain..and Republicans again..With McCain, we will continue to feel the pain and we should not complain because if you complain then you would be called unpatriotic..what a shame! The president of the USA would be McCain..what a shame ..but then again the american voter has proven not to be very wise..look who our current president is..the laughing stock of the world..people in the world trying to figure out how we can elect someone like George Bush for president..to the world he is a joke to Republicans spinner he’s a great president…what a joke!

I get these stink-wart republicans on here putting Obama and Hillary down – they have every reason to do that. What I don’t get is how democrats are knocking either democratic candidate. You morons are falling right into the Cheney-hatched evil plan – DIVIDE & CONQUER! Take a step back, take a breath and know that whichever democrat wins you need to support them -STOP criticizing. Maybe it’s true. Maybe republicans are just plain smarter than democrats and deserve to win. You all make me want to switch parties.

my theory is O’reilly is really pretty liberal based on some of his views and old pics and occasional whacky humor. He is conservative on some good old fashioned things and really gets mad at some of manipulations popular these days, is overbearing at times for sure, but he isn’t some dyed in the wool neo Hannity type. He probably would like Obama actually, but is too bossy and is getting in his own way preventing a good interview. He can only blame himself for the incident where he thought he would get an interview on the cheap. He didn’t do the necessary prep work and give it the proper effort. Hillary is more opportunistic and seized the chance figuring what did she have to lose.

Bill its time to put aside your bitter feelings towards Obama and not pander to Hillary.
A judge rules that Hillary Clinton does not have to testify in a fraud case related to breaking campaign finance rules in her first Senate bid. This, in spite of the treasurer of her campaign being indicted for filing false reports to the Federal Election Commission.
In the landmark civil fraud case against Bill Clinton in Los Angeles, where the former President is charged with defrauding a Hollywood dot com millionaire to help Hillary Clinton obtain more than $1.2 million from him for her 2000 Senate campaign, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aurelio Munoz ruled on Friday, April 25 that Hillary Clinton would not be required to testify in a sworn deposition as a material witness in the case until AFTER the November election!
While Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Al Gore, Ed Rendell, Barbara Streisand, Cher, Stan Lee, Brad Pitt, Mike Wallace, Larry King et al may be called to testify and be deposed starting in May, Hillary alone has been protected from explaining her role in her husband’s fraud charges.

My heart goes out to the stupid hate-mongers in this country. When are you people going to wake up and smell the bull—-. I pray that obama stick to his own method of running for office and not particpate in this mud-slinging tactics that his opponent have stooped too. As the old saying goes,if you lay down with dogs, you come up with fleas. Look at our white house representators. I hope that the average citizen is not fooled by the brain-washing tactic that is being played out right now. When are we going to realized that this is no game, our young men and women are dying everyday, while you idiots are just standing by with your racist and bias comments, instead of looking at the issues at hand 1. Why are we in a war that was sold to us, that was all a lie. 2.Why are we still buying product from China that is poisioning our children, pets and ourselves. The high gasoline prices, that is affecting every working stiff in this country. I could go on and on about issues in this country that should be looked at. And all you idiots want to talk about is that this man is a wimp, because he isn’t running a campaign on the usual crap that you idiots love to see. Well haven’t you seemed what that have gotten us. What did bush do for us with his John Wayne attitude. This is not a athletic competition, Mr Obama keep doing what you do, don’t let the this vigilante mob stop you from staying the course.

I’d ask her about her hubbie being a special board member and consultant to companies that are not in the U.S and is making a killing all because he was mr. Prez.
I’d ask her to please explain in detail how are you going to help create sustainable jobs and don’t give me that energy and windfall crap!!!!!

rich – Thank you for your service to our country. I’m an Independent voter who’s come to the same conclusions about Senator Clinton as you have and have become a crusader for the first time, also. I’m a WW ten years younger than you, who wonders every time someone claims to be a Senator Clinton supporter and says they would vote for Senator McCain over Senator Obama, whether they have any idea what women were subjected to before Roe vs Wade was passed and what it was like to live during the time of a draft lottery. How anyone who is ProChoice and wants an end to the war could vote for John McCain is beyond me.
After seeing the diversity and strength of Senator Obama’s supporters (18,000 in Chapel Hill, NC last night), I believe and am especially encouraged by the legions of young adults who have been energized to join the Democratic process…that we can…by working together…bring about the beginning of the change that this country so desperately needs.

I don’t care what Hillary says. I know that she is behind all of the smear tactics against Obama. I know that she is associated with one of the most scandalous presidents in history. I know that Bill supported the Iraq War. I know that Bush could not have sent our troops to Iraq without Hillary’s authorization. I know that New York’s economy is doing poorly. I know that the only argument she has been giving superdelegates is that Obama is unelectable because of his association with a bitter black pastor. I know that she has mostly copied Obama when convenient: she was for the war, now she is against it. The last time I heard, she was even using “CHANGE” and “YES WE CAN” as a platform when she won Pennsylvania. The only change that she has brought about so far is increasing the racial strife in this country by continually demeaning Obama by pushing race. Most pundits on the media now say Obama has a problem w/white voters. She is a divisive figure and won’t bring about change. Beware!

My thoughts on FOX:
FOX News is still driven by the RNC machine. The only reasons we see more fair coverage of the dem nomination race are:
1) FOX doesnt care who gets the dem nom… they still promote McCain
2) FOX has nothing to report on the RNC front since they do not have a race
3) FOX is all about ratings and making money on advertising
4) FOX is all about increasing ad real estate value by increasing viewership
It’s politics folks, O-Reilly’s ratings are in a slump and pressing both dem candidates for an interview is the same thing any media host is doing. I cant stand the guy but I understand the motives he has as well as the network. You can bet they will change their tune heavily for the GE as usual.
My thoughts on Clinton and Obama:
Clinton made a championed an risky political move to appear on O-Reilly. He will no doubt hammer her but may be stupid enough to hit on old ones that she is clearly going to be prepared for. We shall see how she handles impromptu questions – I hope she does well.
Obama made a politically risky move to decline to appear on O-Reilly but will state he appeared on FOX first. I am not so sure that is true though – I would have to look it up. However, at a time when Obama is looking weak of character and unfit to be CIC, I think his decision was another example of poor judgment.
End result? We will see what Clinton is made of and continue to wonder what Obama is made of – heck he wont even agree to the one-on-one debate and others even though the voters want to see them (based on the number of voters watching and showing up at the polls.)
The race is a deadheat… one has slightly more delegates and one has slightly more votes. Denying the voters what they want to see to help them decide, help them participate, help maintain the party’s momentum towards the GE, and help them unite behind a candidate is really a disservice to the country and the world waiting for a new President that will once again bring us all peace and prosperity. Obama is making some grave political mistakes.

Clinton: No thank you Bill. Please give it to the homeless man outside the studio.
O’Reilly: That’s very thoughtful, Hillary. You’re obviously a good Christian.
Clinton: Yes I am, Bill.
O’Reilly: You know, Hillary, you look much stronger and in person. You must be working out. Do you think you will make a better candidate than that guy who won’t come on my show?
Clinton: I’m certain of it.
O’Reilly: Well folks, there you go. It seems obvious that the Democratic Party is in good hands with Senator Clinton. I know it was tough on her facing the tough questions, but she was the only one with enough guts to face me without a creepy bodyguard.
Clinton: Thanks Bill. I knew someone called Bill would be tough but fair. No wonder they call you a tough guy.
O’Reilly: Well dear, Im certainly no match for you.

Posted by: DaCoach | April 30, 2008, 12:14 am 12:14 am

With all indications that Mr. Obama will win the nomination, despite Mrs. Clinton’s victories in most big states and several questionable “guilt-by-associations” of Mr. Obama, it is quite puzzling to see the amount of energy that Mrs. Clinton is still putting in this race. Perhaps, she may want to show how tough she is even while losing. After all, she has shown toughness and resilience as a spouse to a ever-cheating husband in a failed marriage. So defeat may not be so foreign to her.

After she wins the nomination and starts dealing with McCain, she will make him look like the novice that he is. Hillary displays the American “Spirit” that we love as Americans. O’Reilly and Fox I used to think were extremely biased…and I still do. But what is more worrisome is the bias of the supposedly mainstream media. Can we get a comletely new set of people??? I thought overt bias was something you try not to have…CBS a couple of weeks ago said HRC had less than a 5% chance of securing the nomination and Harry Smith asked Barack if he thought HRC should drop out. I mean this is ridiculous!!! The Super Delegates– right or wrong— the rules say, can choose whomever they want. And it is okay to insult her calling her shrill, emotional, red faced, desperate, “won’t go away”—but Obama is treated like the coolest kid in high school. Barack seems likable enough, but come on this isn’t high school…you have to ask the tough questions because Barack Man nobody knows who you are!!!! Where are you coming from Barack Man…Nobody knows who you are!!!! Radical, nice guy, phoney baloney, arrogant, intelligent, cool as a cucumber, sly as a fox, victim of racism, hero, un-American, misunderstood, manipulator…who knows??? Too many questions.

Hillary will win the nomination & end in New york not the white house. Obama has already lost because of his selfish pastor & the latent wish not to have him in the white house by many who live in the past. America according to my view as a European will end up being a third world country in 40 years while other advance in many sparts of competition. The lead is already gone or drastically shrinking. Small town Americans; find a job either in Mexico or go to church in the morning and hunting for food the rest of the day. The better alternative might be, create wars everywhere & make a living out of it. I just dont get why Obama’s pastor is such an issue. Here in europe it would have been a days talk only. I am proud to be a European.

OBAMA the duck would just shy away for good.
Hillary will take on any challenges with courage and tact.
It’s time that the OBAMA campaign stop giving nonsenses that the one leading in pledged delegates win the competition.
Superdelegates are appointed in the situation that none of the candidate can reach 2025. Below 2025, the tiebreaker is left to the expert, superdelgates. Just like college football, the number one ranking is not just a win but the quality of it counts too.
The ultimate tie-breaker with no obvious winner should let the superdelegate decide according to electability
A win in Alaska is not equivalent to Pennsylvania.

I just got back home from a Republican fundraising dinner tonight and I have some very good news for Hillary. Hillary will never win the DEMOCRATIC nomination. Obama has already won the nomination. The DEMOCRATIC AND REPUBLICAN nominations are won by the most pledge delegates. If Hillary steal this nomination the republicans will use this against her in the general election, they will paint Hillary as an illegitimate DEOMCRATIC nominee in ads that are already been contructed. I got this information from some top Republicans strategies tonight that have close ties with RNC. There’s nothing worst then painting your opponnet as a FRAUD. Once the voters see the RNC paint Hillary a an illegitimate candidate a large majority of Obama’s supporters will no vote in the FALL. Also the Republicans no that a large percentage of black vote will not vote for Hillary this FALL if she steal this nomination! They will stay home. No DEMOCRAT can will the presidency without the black vote.

Virginia,
What wonderful comments. It is refreshing to hear someone who prefers a different party and candidate comment positively on all three candidates remaining. You show a respect for our electoral process, and seem to understand how deeply moved people are by these candidates and what their achievements represent to so many Americans that have felt like there were limits placed on what we were allowed to achieve or even dream about due to nothing more than the circumstances of our birth. Despite the infighting and harsh words, I too am proud of what both Senators Clinton and Obama have achieved. Our nation as whole may not be ‘ready’ to elect a woman or a black man, in a close race the sexists and/or bigots may yet matter enough to derail either Clinton or Obama (the jury is still out) ***but*** it is clear that a very large portion of our nation is ready for both. We are a nation on the edge of accepting full equality and oh how far we’ve come and overcome in less than a generation. We’ve not eliminated our ‘isms’ (racism, sexism, ageism etc.) by any stretch of the imagination but we’ve reached the point where as a society we at least acknowledge they are wrong and most of us have made a commitment to keep fighting for justice for all. Once the immediate battle dies down, I hope we can all sit back for a moment and enjoy what we’ve accomplished before we get back to work on correcting the ‘isms’ and injustices that still remain.
As to the topic of Clinton going on O’Reilly, I think it once again shows her incredible strength and her willingness to talk to those that aren’t friendly to her. The past month or so, Sen. Clinton has really started to show a strength and perseverance that’s unmatched. Although she’s a politician and like all politicians has very human flaws, her courage to face her enemies –especially when she faced Scaife– reminds me of Daniel going into the Lion’s Den.

why does abc news have to “spin” the story to make bill seem like a bad guy? that confrontation with the obama staffer wasnt his fault. cant the news be just that anymore, news.

God I can’t stand that O’Reilly guy, how does someone so brainless get on TV?

Hillary is one weak candidate. She needs of 3 helpers (Bill, Chelsea and McCain) and has not been able to get Obama out. Not even in a 4 to 1 match she is able to do a thing!!

Nobody buys Onama’s charade. he is extremely deceitful and has made all Rev. Wright’s defenders for Obama’s support look like fools. What is going to happen next week? Is Obama going to get enraged at Michelle’s comments that offend Americans and stage a divorce?

Posted by: libre | April 30, 2008, 4:27 am 4:27 am

Uggh Obama thinks Wright’s sermons are not watchable, and “now” he thinks Wright is offensive. Doesn’t upset you that Obama made fools of all his supporters defending Wright for months and then he stages this fallout?

Posted by: libre | April 30, 2008, 4:32 am 4:32 am

What would be the purpose of creating a “news” story about appearing on a “conservative” entertainer’s program? O’Reilly isn’t a political pundit – he isn’t known for any sort of ethical “reporting” – he isn’t even known for using facts in forming questions. Why would any candidate give the blowhard any sort of credibility by wasting his/her time on the air with the clown?

D.Parks
Let us be clear a white democrat not voting for Obama does not make them racist.
Prior to PA 52% of white voters came out for Obama and 83% of Black voters.
So that argument is flawed. Time to give it up and get a real issue.

This shows that Hillary can take on anything – She is emerging as the stronger leader, she is not afraid to stare adversity in the eye, she is resilient, she has experience, she stands up for and loves America. Hillary Clinton is what America needs at these troubled times to steady the ship and get back to a firm footing.
Barak is emerging as someone who is always a day late, walks away from difficult questions, does not want a debate because he will once more fall short… he is clearly not ready.
If Mr. Obama stepped down now graciously, he might be able to keep a hope for Presidency alive sometime in the distant future – time needed for him to gain experience and wisdom, and even time to deal with his demons, finding his own identity without anger.

I applaud Hillary for taking O’reilly’s questions. He’ll do the Limbaugh twist to them, but I applaud her.
I suppose after dragging Chelsea through all that sniper fire, this was easy.

HIlary will kick butt and take names on Orielly you better start your grievign process now Obamakins cause Barack aint gonna cut it!

It was refreshing to read some of the comments on how Hillary Clinton can and will take on Bill O’Reilly and compote herself with dignity, intelligence and grace. Why even Joe Scarborough who finally met Hillary in person and spoke with her was very impressed with her knowledge and poise and ideas on how to solve the problems of our country. As a woman, I am proud that someone of Hillary’s caliber will represent our country in a world fraught with dictators, murderers and just plain nutcases, all of whom Hillary can handle. She had all that experience as First Lady, and that experience alone makes her best qualified to become our nominee. Did you hear Obama yesterday, how haltingly he spoke, how difficult it was to collect his thoughts to answer a question. I remember how the media ridiculed Al Gore for sounding wooden and stiff. Well, Obama did Gore one better, Obama could not cohertently collect his thoughts and it was obvious, despite the lavish praise the cable political newsies heaped on him for a fine speech. I found it boring and empty of substance, which describes Barack Obama perfectly. A man without substance, manufactured from the efforts of some Public Relations organization determined to bury the Clintons. Ain’t gonna happen.

Either O’Reily is going to be tough on Hillary or he is going to softball her. If he is tough and does attempt some thought provoking questions, Hillary supports will rally around her because a big man was mean to her. If he softballs the questions, Hillary supporters will go on and on about how intelligent and brave she was.

I give Hillary credit for going onto the Factor show. She is willing to answer more straight forward questions than Obama whom just will in most cases talk in circles and never get to a point regarding anything.
It is also strange that most conservative candidates went and had interviews on ABC, NBC and CBS, yet Obama refused to ever go onto Fox? Why is the ultra liberal so afraid of conservative questions? The conservatives were not afraid of the liberal tainted ones?
Please Dem’s, Hillary is so much better qualified to lead a broader based majority of this country that Obama.

Obama doesn’t want for the people to know who he really is. He is proving to me more and more each day he isn’t capable of running this country. He strays away for his problems. I am sorry I don’t buy his speech yesterday. He shouldn’t even act surprise of the way wright is. I mean he did say he has known him for 20 long years and that he is like an uncle to him. How could he not know they way he was. Wright had those believes a very long time. He didn’t just come up with those in a week. Pleae that doens’t execuse him for seating there for 20 years and hearing those kind of sermons. He is a wimp and a phony.

When Obama got on Fox news Sunday, all the Hillary supporters complained Obama was legitimizing Fox. Now that Hillary is on O’reily they claim Hillary is the one with courage because Obama only goes to friendly media (of course ignoring the Sunday Fox interview).

HELP… Bill O’Reilly… Hillary & McCain are playing us for Fools and we’re losing. Why is that???
Many of us, & I or one, just look at the math. Sure Obama has the edge but you wonder why it is that Hillary is always implying that his victories don’t hold a candle to hers.
It comes down to, what winning over the Superdelegates, as she has been scheming behind the scenes. Unfair as it is, Obama has always been behind in the Superdelegates. He still is!
She was livid When superdelegate Richardson endorsed Obama as he is also a minority Hispanic, so to speak. That could influence the other Superdelegates in going for Obama. Hillary has been counting on playing this trump card.
That is why it is very important for Obama to win the popular vote along with the State”s Delegates to EVEN the playing field. There”s no doubt that it had been planned for years that Hillary was going to be the presidential candidate. This year was her time, to go about the country on her coronation tour, to be showcased. While the real underdog has been mocked, ridiculed, and attacked by both Hillary & McCain for the simple reason that they & the superdelegates do not want to see Obama in the Whitehouse. That’s the Inconvenient Truth.

I watch FOX news about 90% of the time. I also watch the O’Reilly factor. Today, he is going to interview Mrs. Hillary Clinton.
Hmmmmmm…I wonder what is going to happen.
I hope he asks her tough questions on her policies such as health care,(who is going to pay for it,and how)protecting our country from another terrorist attack, and her “need” to lie about major issues to the American people. Like, free-trade agreements that while in office her husband passed and she endorsed.
Now, she says she is basically against it.
As far as she being a stronger candidate, I do not necessarily believe that. What does she have to lose. She needs to project herself out there with all types of news stations especially with her being behind in the delegate count. To her, I think its just the political game, and she knows how to play it quite well. I give her that!
She is a smart talker and she knows how to cover all her bases. She also knows how to gather support from all of the Democratic power machines.
I think a lot of people do not think she would be where she is at politically if it weren’t for the fact she had married her husband, Bill Clinton. He is even now campaigning for her.
Maybe it is just me, but this whole situation gives me the “ewie jieves.”
Did our founding fathers of this country think we would have “political” dynasties with families running the country for long periods of time.
So far it has happened with the Adams family, Rosevelts and Bushes. Can we stand another 2 terms with another Clinton. God, we cannot trust her with the FBI, CIA, IRS, under her power.
Remember all the scandals she headed by her decisions during her husbands administrations. Firing all the staff for a agency because she did not care for them.
When the son Bush was running for office I do not remember his dad out there campaigning for him, like the Clintons. No thank you,

This was classic “positive Hillary” When she had a chance to say to OReilly if she thought her opponent was unfairly smeared by Wrights comments, and whether she thought WRights views and opinions represented those of a fellow senator whom she has know and worked with,,,,, she says she will let the voters decide,,,,
Hillary once again chooses NOT to take the high road

How can we have such a blind view of people? When Hilliary on the last debate ADMITTED to lying about Bosnia, saying she played a key role in Northern Ireland’s peace(which she didn’t), she opposed NAFTA, and sent your sons and daughters to war…while Chelsea stay home(now she wants it to end). This does not give her any more Presidential exp. than OBAMA. At least he’s being as real and truthful with the American people as he can. Some still don’t want that. What else can he do to prove he’s finish with Rev. Wright and Rev. Wright doesn’t speak for him. If you’re saying that he knew and agreed with Rev. Wright…then you’re saying all of White American agreed with slavery, taking free black men from their homes and hanging, beating, killing off their children so the white men can sleep with their woman. How do you think we have such a vast/shades among us. So, if you’re saying that you don’t agree and it was unfair…then give him the same chance. I feel when Rev. Wright spoke, the media took bits and pieces and fed the people what they wanted and some went CRAZY. Only now are we finding out that most people never heard the entire message. If you give me something I don’t want bits give me the whole truth or nothing at all. McCain said he didn’t like what Rev. John Hagee said that HURRICANE KATRINA was PUNISHMENT for NEW ORLEANS & HE DOSEN”T LIKE CATHOLICS, but no one is upset or cringing over that. I HATE THE DOUBLE STANDARDS WE HAVE IN AMERICA

For all your bluster about hard questioning, I suspect you are in the tank for Senator Clinton, and you will prove that by asking no tough questions, while sitting there letting her spin every answer.
Prove me wrong by asking her:
1) During the Clinton Presidency the Army was reduced by over 300,000 men, the Navy by over 200 warships, the Air Force by several fighter wings. She claims to have been an important part of the administration. Why did she approve the weakening of our military during the 1990′s and the emasculation of the CIA’s intelligence gathering capabilities?
2) How can she be trusted to be Commander in Chief when she didn’t speak out about the growth of radical terrorism during the 1990′s? During the Clinton Presidency, the World Trade Center was first bombed, our embassies in Africa were bombed, the Somalia fiasco occurred, the Kobar towers were bombed the USS Cole was attacked. There is no public record of her reaction and any call to action concerning these events.
3) Leaders must be perceptive and able to “take the measure” of other world leaders. How can the American people be expected to trust her skills when she was not even perceptive enough to realize her husband was having an affair with a young intern right under her nose in the White House?

Why won’t the mainstream media focus on John McCain’s pastour who said hurricane katrina was sent to new orleans by god for punishment on the sins of the people there???
WHY WON’T HE BE ASKED TO DENOUNCE….HIM????

It’s may be true that Wright is on Hillary’s payroll. Obama is going to weather that foolishness. Real Americans can care less about Wright and Hillary. Watch and see Obama win the nomination with class.

About O’Reilly haters
What is wrong with you people..do you let your bias color everything you see.
Tell me right now…have you ever seen an interview like that??
No..you have never seen a possible future president questioned with the gloves off. Do you want to see some fairy Msnbc questions, where everything is portrayed as a joke, and where prepared answers are allowed to stand on prepared spin?
He not only challanged her answers but offered incite into why they dont make sense to him
AND..she did excellent. Do you really think Obama could have held up to that kind of pressing on his beliefs? He would have chocked. Not only didnt she choke..but she held her own and even when you moved toward her she did not take offence and really impressed me with how much fight she had in her
I dont agree with her worldview..but that was best interview she has ever done–and that type of bantering is real world problem solving–not stiff speeches where no one can respond or prepared answers that are not challanged like on Msnbc or CNN
People hate fox because they have been watching a liberal slanted broadcast all their ives. When they see it slanted the other way it seems off to them. But this is what conservatoves have been putting up with forever. You have no right to cry foul on fox when the entire Media is liberal. Thats like a guy trapped in Cesspool complaining about the one thing in there that isnt crap. Your still surrounded by crap.
And Hillary does not have a 115 IQ. You just show how low your IQ is to think that. You cant get through Law school with anything under 125–and thats the bare minimum

Well folks, as one of your neighbours north of the border, I’m scratching my head in amazement. You guys are going to have to start talking about healthcare, education, diplomacy in the middle east, the war, tax reforms, financial institution scandals, homeland security, corporate fraud, the collapsing American economy, a bleak employment horizon, human rights and America’s credibility in the eyes of the world. Stop taking pot shots at each other and start grilling your candidates or you’re going to wind up with another Bush on your hands because nobody kept their eye on the ball. And we the people of the rest of the world sure would be disappointed if that happened. We know you can do it, we too have a large stake in what you decide, and we have faith in your ability to do the right thing.
