McCain Stumbles on Shiites v. Sunnis….Again
During the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing yesterday, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., in his questioning of General David Petraeus, stumbled again on whether Al Qaeda is Sunni or Shi’ite.
MCCAIN: Do you still view al Qaeda in Iraq as a major threat?
PETRAEUS: It is still a major threat, though it is certainly not as major a threat as it was say 15 months ago.
MCCAIN: Certainly not an obscure sect of the Shi’ites overall…
PETREAUS: No.
MCCAIN: …or Sunnis or anybody else.
It took just minutes before the Democrats posted the video on Youtube.
Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean issued a statement saying, "As John McCain continues to get the basic facts on the ground in Iraq wrong, he makes it clear to the American people that he will continue the open-ended commitment to fighting President Bush’s war in Iraq. One hundred years in Iraq is not a plan. We all honor the service and sacrifices of our brave troops and their families, who have done everything that has been asked of them every step of the way. Honoring their service means bringing this war to a responsible end, and the only way to do that is to elect a Democratic president in November."
(This comes roughly a month after McCain had a similar misspeaking moment, which you can watch HERE or read about in our blog post from March 18, "Err Jordan.")
The McCain campaign issued a statement acknowledging that “In the course of having a serious dialogue with our military leadership in Iraq about how Americans can formulate success going forward, John McCain stumbled on his words and corrected them immediately."
A couple years ago we did a Good Morning America report on the key government officials — including House Intelligence Committee chairman Silvestre Reyes, D-Texas — who didn’t know basic facts about the Muslim world. (Reyes thought that al Qaeda was both Sunni and Shiite, but predominantly Shiite. Ugh.)
McCain’s people say this is not remotely like that, this is just misspeaking, not ignorance. What do you think?

Sen. DeMint: GOP Race Could Go Until Convention
Obama Avoids Questions on Contraception Rule
Now it’s probably just misspeaking as he did correct himself immediately and it’s hard to imagine he would remain ignorant after the attention the first gaffe received. However it’s more evidence he likely did not know the difference until Sen. Lieberman corrected him during last month and might suggest he isn’t as knowledgeable about these issues as he presents himself to be.

I honestly think that we should all have serious concerns as to why McCain’s medical records have yet to be released. Deserved of all of our respect for his service, there is no doubt that he has had to suffer from some form of PTSD, as well as due to his age, is obviously suffering from the early stages of Alzheimer’s Diseases…1 out of 3 men over 70 have it. I’m sure that he would have made a fine president several years ago, but I really don’t think that he is mentally stable to do so. Please release his medical records immediately!

If McCain is suppose to be an expert on Iraq, he needs to know the difference between Shiia, Sunni, and Al Qaeda.
Keeping on mixing them makes him look incompetent.

As these incidents pile up it’s becoming clearer McCain is the real “empty suit” candidate.
He doesn’t know what’s going on in Iraq, and is ready ad willing to tell bald-faced lies to the American people about the security situation there if it fits his campaign lines.
Yesterday I believe, he also failed to react at all when “Vets for Freedom” introduced him with the racist slur, “You can keep your Tiger Woods, we’ve got Senator McCain.” MCain continues to prove beyond any doubt that he’s a Neanderthal on social issues, orders of magnitude beneath any of the trivial gaffes other candidates make in this area.
He’s also clueless about economic issues as he personally admitted. And though was tortured in Vietnam, he even caved to Bush on torture.
Send this unprincipled moron back to the country club. Seriously.

Sadam was from an obscure sect of Shi’ites. Could it be that McCain was comparing the current enemy with the one that has been defeated?
Could it be that Howard Dean just doesn’t know?
Could it be that all democrats lack the ability for civilized discourse?

Obama said the leader of Canada is the president of Canada.
Ted Kennedy said we were fighting al queda in basra.
McCain didn’t stumble.
He was making light of it as a joke.
Read the context of his statement in the hearing.
Clinton called pakistanis shiites media is silent.
Obama said 10,000 people died in a tornado.
McCain hundreds of times is on record talking about al queda as sunnis.
Obama yesterday said al queda is training in iraq and iran but the media is silent.
Clinton said musharraf was on the ballot when he wasn’t.
Clinton said she went on a trip with joe wilson to africa when she didn’t.
Clinton said she was against the war when she is on record saying she is for it.
Clinton said she mispoke once in 12 years about bosnia.
Clinton two weeks ago said she had no opinion of the olympics boycott.
Bill Clinton is being paid by columbia for the free trade deal. The whole penn outrage was a sham.

Please Does anybody really feel right now like the United States of America could stand another 4 yrs. under an ignorant Republican President. He obviously wants to and has backed Bush in his policies so tell me how anything would get any better electing him to the white house instead of going with one of the candidates that are promising change.

To Jake Tapper:
McCain didn’t stumble. How dense can you be.
McCain was making light of his mistake in jordan in the hearing. Anyone with a clue could see that if they watched the hearing.
McCain’s son served in iraq.
McCain has been on record hundreds of times talking about the differences between sunnis and shiites.
McCain on imus for a half hour was talking about iran helping the shiites in basra and how al queda were sunnis.
Enough already with the constant media bias against mccain.
Posted by: Jason | April 9, 2008, 11:13 am 11:13 am
To Derek
McCain is on record in hundreds of hearings talking about the sunnis as al queda and iran helping the shiites JAM in the south.
Look at his record.
McCain clearly knows the difference.
The media doesn’t talk about the thousands of times he gets the facts right.
The media doesn’t mention when obama mispeaks and calls the leader of canada the president of canada or when obama says 10,000 people died in a tornado in kansas
Hillary Clinton made numerous gaffes on pakistan calling it a shiite country but the media was silent.

The man is too old. Everything is impaired for him.
No one can go against nature. Everything has started already to slow down and wait with pressure of work (if he is elected Pres.), one year is more than enough to finish him completely!

Even conservative Pat Robertson (yesterday on MSNBC’s Verdict With Dan Abrams) is concerned about what he calls McCain’s numerous “senior moments” and said McCain has not aged well in the past few years. This does NOT bode well for the US if McCain is elected. Whether democrat or republican or whatever, we do need someone who is sharp and on the ball.

So what is for all the mis peaks from Obama, oh thats right Obama is just straight out lying!!

Sen. Obama is the only candidate to say that the U.S. should formally meet with these parties…perhaps if Sen. McCain had an actual meeting with these various factions he’d know who they are.
Can we afford a McCain slip at a time when he’s ready to launch an offensive and, in error says, strike Iran, when he means strike Iraq?
Posted by: H. Aslan Aslani-Far | April 9, 2008, 11:28 am 11:28 am
Does the media have any responsibility to cover Obama? Did the media sell us the Iraq War? Are we being sold Obama?
Please note that Obama confused “Iraq” with “Iran” when he was questioning Crocker…and no major media outlet noticed or reported. Perhaps McCain is not their favorite…..
Posted by: Jackie | April 9, 2008, 11:31 am 11:31 am
I think McCain misspoke….I’m sure Obama knows the difference between Iraq and Iran too….It’s the lack of coverage that is astounding.
Hit jobs in the newspapers and media outlets on a Clinton are perfectly acceptable..
Questioning Obama on his “trip to Pakistan” or his “confusion or Iraq and Iran” or his “spiritual mentor” are all off limits.
This is way over the top….lots of people not just women are noticing.

Headline should be Clintons stumble again.
First Hillary said she tried to become a marine. Now Bill Clinton said she tried to join the army.
The Clintons can’t even figure out the difference between the army and the marines.
Hillary was testing the service against feminism she never had any intention to join the armed services. She protested against the military at Wesseley.
When is the media going to pursue the lies of the Clintons.

Brianna is Hillary sharp?
She said she got sniper fire in Bosnia. She was greeted at the airport by a 8 year old girl reading a poem.
She said she went on a trip to africa with joe wilson in 1997 before Bill went with them. Never happened.
Hillary said she tried to join the army never happened.
Hillary said she mispoke once in 12 years on bosnia. Complete lie she is on record lying 4 times about it.
Hillary said Musharraf would be on the ballot after the bhutto assasination. Wrong.
Obama called the leader of canada the president of canada.
Obama said 10,000 people died in a tornado in kansas.
Hillary said two weeks ago she had no opinion on the boycott in china.
Hillary wasn’t aware that Bill Clinton was working for Columbia getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars.
McCain hikes the grand canyon and is the same age as pelosi and colin powell roughly and is younger than ron paul.

Spock, McCain’s campaign has admitted the “misspeak”, so your observation matters little.
What does matter, is McCain has a “cold-war” perspective on war and from the numerous “misspeaks” he has uttered, one could easily surmise that he groups all Muslims together as the enemy.
McCain is so set on “victory” in this war, he cares little for the ideologies that separate the various Muslim sects and the even the subtleties that separate the various clans of the Shia. My question I have asked more often than I can remember is who is this enemy? Since there is no answer to this question, our warmongering leaders will eventually focus on Iran to define the enemy, as we are already seeing. When we cannot define an enemy, let’s go find one. The PR machine is working hard for this.
What we have heard from the present administration:
• Iran has “malign” influence in Iraq
• Iran is equipping various militias in Iraq
• Iran has been secretly been developing enriched uranium for nuclear warheads
• Iran has taken a more imperialistic approach within the region
These arguments are put forth so that in the event our administration chooses to go to war with Iran, they will have already laid the groundwork necessary for Congress and the citizenry to accept this decision. This would be a monstrous mistake trumping all the mistakes we did in Vietnam and Iraq combined.
We can get out of this in a fairly quick manner if we do just one thing: Stop trying to force a secular democracy on these peoples in the middle of the Arab Muslim world. There are too many opponents to that approach within Iraq itself and all the neighboring countries. If we allow the natural tribal leaders to put into place whichever form of government the majority can buy into, we can extract ourselves from this tar pit. And by empowering the many, many tribal leaders, this will prevent a full blown Iranian influence within Iraq, because these tribal leaders have their own agendas. To me this seems the only way out. Unfortunately, this is going to be incredibly hard to sell to the American people.

McCain was making light of the media being critical of him in the hearing.
The media is missing the context of what mccain said in the hearing. He was making light of himself for what happened in jordan.
Obama was unaware that the leader of Canada is the prime minister of canada.
Canada has no president. Obama called the leader of canada the president of canada.
Canada has been under parliamentary rule for 140 years.
Media doesn’t care that on hundreds of occasions mccain is quoted as calling al queda a sunni group.

The post here PROVE the point. The news story is about McCain. Look at ALL the posters : Obama this Clinton that. In other words “Don’t look at McCain, let me distract you by looking somewhere else” Very very telling. Didn’t Moe of the 3 Stooges pull the same trick all the time “look up here” and when Curly did he got a punch in the stomach. Sorry, I’m not going to let that happen. “Look at Obmam, look at Clinton” sorry, I’m looking at McCain, the FOCUS of this news story.

These campaigns are tiring.
You are going to multiple fundraisers a day across the country, different events, flying back to the senate to vote, overseas trips.
These candidates don’t sleep. The campaign has been going on non stop for 15 months.
Lets put it in some context. They are human beings not robots.
As president McCain won’t be doing 20 fundraisers a week and then going to a hearing on no sleep.
I saw McCain yesterday in DC he was early in the morning at a vets rally standing there for a while in the rain.
Posted by: Jason | April 9, 2008, 11:49 am 11:49 am
McCain this past summer climbed the grand canyon. He is full of energy on the campaign bus.
McCain opens himself up more than anybody.
McCain held 101 town hall meetings in new hampshire.
McCain has press conferences on his bus for hours with reporters. McCain has press conferences on his plane and after events.
McCain opens himself up at least 20 times more to the media than Obama or Clinton so that means he opens himself up to mistakes and gets no credit for his access.

You call it a “stumble” – I’ll call it ignorance. So much for the gops version of a foreign policy expert. Is it any wonder we’re in the mess we’re in in Iraq. A stumble happens once – this is the 5th time for McBush. With geniuses like McSame echoing the sentiments of President Albatross – why would we expect any different.
Hey – why wasn’t Bush there to defend his Iraq “policy”? I didn’t realize defending policy was the generals job – I thought his job was to follow orders and handle the mission. what a sorry excuse of a president – but in typical GW Bush style – he creates the mess and then throws up his hands and walks away so someone else can clean up behind him. Shameful.

Hillary didn’t even know her campaign was going broke. She is aloof with the management of her campaign.
Clinton is worth 109 million but is paying herself back interest for her loan.
Clinton is bad with management sticking with loyalty with penn over competence.
The whole columbia outrage was fake. Bill Clinton was getting paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by the columbians to work for the free trade aggreement. The Clintons admitted the penn outrage was a show for the press.
Just like Clinton was being paid to give speeches in dubai while working for dubai to get ports in the U.S.
McCain has honesty in spades over the Clintons.
If I hear about McCain’s temper one more time when Bill Clinton has a far worse temper and the libs loved him as president for 8 years. What about Hillarys temper hitting bill and throwing things at him.

What McCain was trying to say is that al queda isn’t an obscure group to the shiites, sunnis or anybody else.
The context was McCain was saying Al Queda is still a threat.
McCain said it instead of to.

McCain was trying to say Al Queda isn’t an obscure sect to the shiites, sunnis, or anybody else. McCain said to by mistake. Big deal.
If you watch the testimony he was having a discussion about the threat of al queda in iraq to us and the iraqis.

So thank your Hillary rants elsewhere, this thread is about McCain. Remember him, the guy who kept saying Iran is training Al-quaeda? And for the record, I’m writing in Ron Paul in November. Whatever, Obama confused Iran and Iraq during the testimony. Who really cares?
U.S. AMBASSADOR TO IRAQ RYAN CROCKER: Senator, as I said in my statement, we have no problem with a good, constructive relationship between Iran and Iraq. The problem is with the Iranian strategy of backing extremist militia groups and sending in weapons and munitions that are used against Iraqis and against our own forces.
OBAMA: Do we feel confident that the Iraqi government is directing these — this aid to these special groups?
Where is the media coverage of this. This is evidence that the media is rooting for the democrats.
Posted by: Jason | April 9, 2008, 12:42 pm 12:42 pm
Putting the verbal gaffes and “gotcha” moments aside, the larger question here is whether McCain understands the major dynamics of the conflict in Iraq. McCain continually mischaracterizes the conflict in Iraq and conflates enemies and issues. This guy has no idea about how to win in Iraq. He merely seeks to maintain an unsustainable situation.

On the Democratic side, you have two strong candidates with good plans for the economy and with plans to withdraw our tired troops. On the Republican side, you have a Cyborg who wants to spend $12b a month in Iraq and let Americans die everyday. We need our $12b dollars a month right here, right now. Haven’t we suffered enough? How many Americans need to die before we call it a day? It’s because of this war that we can’t stand up to China, we have borrowed so much money and we have to pay it back. Obama mixed up iran and iraq.
Clinton mispeaks everyday. My favorite was when she said she only mispoke on Bosnia once. She mispoke on Bosnia at least four times on record.
McCain has honesty while the other two candidates have none.
McCain is the only one who sacrificed for this nation in this election. Clinton protested against the military and lied saying she tried to join first the marines now the army.
Obama and McCain are not suited to lead our armed forces. They NEVER EVER EVER sacrificed for this nation and are unfit to lead it.
Clinton said she tried to join the marines when she was really playing a joke with recruitment officers. She was testing them against feminism.
McCain has a moderate record. Obama and Clinton are liberal extremists.

Is Hillary really in her prime?
Hillary said Musharraf was going to be on the ballot.
Hillary said she was never for the war it was for inspections when she is on record being for the war for years after it.
Hillary is not young either. Hillary would be the oldest democrat elected in 150 years. Hillary is relying on Bill Clinton who has had two open heart surgeries. McCain is in better health than Bill Clinton.

If it is not ignorance it is certainly laziness, and a indication that he still is uninterested in the cultural roots of Iraq’s civil war. I voted for Bush in 2000, and have vowed never to vote for someone intellectually incurious as him again.
This issue is certainly more important than whether Obama is sneaking cigarettes or how much a Democratic Party candidates pays to get his haircut (I’m sure Romney paid as much as Edwards, or more but we never heard his cost).

McCain knows all the leaders around the world. He goes to nato conferences all the time.
Steve,
Obama mixed up the leader of canada and just yesterday mixed up iran and iraq.
Steve,
McCain knows far more about iraq than clinton or obama. He has gone on in length with imus about the differences between sunnis and shiites.

At least McCain doesn’t have any trouble identifying who the enemy is.
Jimmy Carter is preparing to meet with the leader of Hamas, an organization that the U.S. government considers one of the leading terrorist threats in the world.
Obama rejects trade with the President of Colombia and seems to like Hugo Chavez much better and can’t wait to talk with that idiot in Iran.
If Obama gets elected our troubles will be coming home to roost.

This is for Jake
You saw Obama’s performance on FOX NEWS and it made you laugh, I guess you support McCain, right? I have news for you, you can vote McCain and see if you’ll have a job (if you work) or pay your mortgage (if your parents don’t pay your bills).
You guys expect too much from someone who doesn’t have a clue about the economy. If you haven’t noticed, this is the fifth time Sen. McCain has given the wrong info on who America is fighting in Iraq.
Don’t let McCain fool u guys, he is clueless and he belongs in a home period

Mr. McCain comment implies lack of knowledge. His personal history, however, from the Naval Academy to present, suggests an intelligent, highly skilled and disciplined soldier and civil servant. It would be reasonable to consider his fifty plus years of service as critically as the recent mistakes, errors or whatever preferred descriptive adjective(s) may apply. I don’t have much confidence in Republicans in general, but I could vote for Mr. McCain. I don’t think I could vote for either of the two Democrats. The party seems to have lost it’s way in recent years.

Jason said “McCain has been to Iraq 8 times. He was breifed on each trip.” I remember one of those trips. He was talking about how safe things were in Iraq, about how one could walk around the market place. And to prove it, he did walk around the market place: In full body armor, surrounded by a troup of soldiers, with two helecopers flying cover overhead. Yeah, sounds like he understands things perfectly.

If Sen. McCain knows who America is fighting in Iraq, he should prove it. Isn’t five mistakes enough? He is clueless period. We need our $12b spent every month in America right here, right now. We need our troops back in America, these people are human and have families. McCain is nothing but a Cyborg.

How many average Americans can tell off the top of their head the difference between a SHIITE OR SUNNI MUSLIM or which one is part of AL QAEDA?

So you support Hillary and I’m an independent cool. Have you seen this? Read the extracts from the ABC news website below.
If only Penn were the end of the story. Guess who else supports the Colombia pact? Politico’s Ben Smith scares up the quote (translated from Spanish) from June 2005: “I am in favor of the free trade agreement,” said former President Bill Clinton (the one strategist who cannot be demoted).
This is where the (thick) rubber of the Clinton’s financial entanglements hits the (icy) road of presidential politics. Huffington Post reports that Bill Clinton was paid $800,000 in 2005 by a group “tasked with bringing investment to the country and educating world leaders about the Colombia’s business opportunities.”
The Clinton campaign confirms the former president’s support for the trade deal. “The acknowledgment adds new hurdles to the New York senator’s bid to woo Democratic voters in Pennsylvania and elsewhere who believe free trade agreements have eliminated thousands of U.S. jobs,” the AP’s Charles Babington writes.
And it’s not the only area where Bill Clinton, again, has his wife’s campaign off-message. ABC’s Jake Tapper reports that Clinton last year advised Steven Spielberg not to sever ties with the Beijing Olympics; Sen. Clinton this week made headlines by calling on President Bush to boycott the opening ceremonies.
Clinton’s = Deceit. After all these info. The Solutions Express should be called the Double Speak Express, end of story. Hope you’re still laughing, cause I am Hahahahahaha !!!!

Owen McCain hates war. McCain voted against keeping troops in Lebanon.
McCain is not a neocon warmonger like the dems are distorting him to be. Neocons hate McCain and his anti torture stance.
McCain said he will withdraw responsibly and have the iraqis patrolling the roads and dealing with the insurgency.
Obama and Clinton both want to keep troops guarding the embassy and going after al queda.
McCain will have rules of engagements that protect our troops.
McCain will withdraw responsibly by handing over areas to the iraqis and our troops coming home.
McCain is one candidate who can unify our country by bringing our troops home responsibly. It is like Nixon going to China.

That wasn’t McCain’s choice. That was the military’s choice. He said he would have had no protection if it was up to him.
McCain is the one who chose not to have secret service protect him. McCain went with no security on his last trip to the middle east and europe.
Obama took secret service in May of last year while McCain still hasn’t taken it.
Obama and Clinton have cost taxpayers over a 100 million with their protection. McCain is saving the taxpayers money.

Jason:
What are you smoking!
McCain has clearly cast HIMSELF as WARMONGER — he voted FOR the bill approving Waterboarding as acceptable. He voted for action against IRAN! He was the one who made the comment “bombbombbomb, bombbomb Iran” and wants to see us stay in Iraq for 100 years!
But to the main question, I don’t think that an “all those guys” comment can truly be called “corrected them immediately.” And I don’t think he “stumbled” so much as “bumbled.”
John McCain would be a disaster for this country as President. He has made it clear over the last two years that he is a big fan of Dubya. Four years ago, I couldn’t say this, but McCain’s own actions have shown it.

McCain’s not your “average American” – he’s a PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE, for Chrissake! And not only that, he’s running as someone who understands the “Islamofascist” threat more than anyone else. Seems Howard Dean was right, McCain needs to master the basic facts of the situation before questioning Obama’s or Hillary’s readiness to lead. The two of them are 100x more ready to lead than “To the Gates of Hell” McCain.

Can someone tell me what service and branch McCians son or sons are in. Not to take away from the servie the render to the country, but the fact is that his sons are out of harms wauy on a naval ship or even flying high above the skies where no one is shooting at them. The reason I bring this up is that I do not disrespect their committment to the US and the service of our country, but if you are going to use it in a political speech to further your political position as someone who knows what they are talking about, then let’s tell the whole story. The men on the ground would think differently about those not on the ground and how much they are really puting into the fight. Please do not spin the “My sons are in Iraq”. So please someone tell me that I am wrong and they are actually on the ground fighting the good fight. (Ex-Infantryman)

Anyone that tries to prop up the CIA line that Shias and Sunnis will never work together is just plain ignorant …
Ever heard of Hamas …
From Wiki “Hamas (حركة حماس; acronym: حركة المقاومة الاسلامية, or Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiyya or “Islamic Resistance Movement”[1]) is a Palestinian Sunni Islamist[2][3] militant organization”
From Wiki “According to the US State Department, the group is funded by Iran”
So according to the US State Department Shia Iran funds Sunni Hamas …
Please keep trying to prop up that lie folks …

I should vote for Obama because McCain doesn’t know the difference between a SUNNI or a SHIITE, but what about Obama’s camp desperately trying to label McCain as a “warmonger”?… I’ll wait for the debates.

WestCoastMessenger, the media has been for Obama from day one. They’ll report a few things to make it look “fair” but they won’t report the big things, the things that could really damage Barack. And if you think it’s bad now, just wait till the general election campaigning starts.
But McCain will still win. Americans are gullible for a while, but they’re not stupid enough to vote in a radical leftwing Black Panter-esque black guy. They’re just not.

Rosie O’Donnell yesterday said she was afraid of “the little Republican” (Elizabeth Hasselbeck)…”she scared me.”
Rosie O’Donnell months ago on The View:
“Don’t fear the terrorists…they’re mothers and fathers too”
This is why in the end, Americans keep returning to the GOP in droves (despite the indoctrination by the mainstream media)…
Democrats don’t know who the enemy is, and they haven’t in a long, long time.
McCain knows who the enemy is. Democrats like Hillary & Obama do not.
McCain is your next president. Get use to it.

Ed S – From above it looks like that is from the error a month ago!
Do you even know what is going on in Iraq, we are letting them choose their own government, they voted it in. We are there now so it does not collapse by the forces of Iran, and Al Qeada before they can walk.
At this point we have met a majority of all the benchmarks set forth. there “congress” has done more then ours.
The Libs in our congress sit by doing unconstitutional investigations instead of coming up with a workable free market plan to help the economy, why is that it is because the libs want a recession or depression to occur!
Ed S – Is not it the object to achieve Victory!! McCain has more of an understanding then any lib.
Obama does not even know the difference between Iraq and Iran or Pakistan and India, Terrorists and Hardworking Americans So please!!
Appeasement and talking to our enemies does not work, look back thru Carter and Clinton years!
Peace thru Strength is the only way!!
We did not start this war but by God’s Will we will win it!
Every lib congressman and protester has blood on their hands, as is proven with the Harvard Study that every time a lib congressman/senator opened their mouth violence increased.
Note in comparing to Vietnam – A north Vietmanese General was interviewed he stated that after the tent offensive the North was ready to give up, but reports of America media and congress (libs at the time) saying America lost kept the North going.
Today in Iraq the enemy is listening and is trying to defeat us politically the same way in Vietnam!
Iran Ayatollah says Obama is their man!!

As far as the media goes with Obama, the FEC should investigate it because they are campaigning for Obama, they actually go out of their way to denounce the negative truth about Obama while going out of their way to lie about McCain!!
The MSM is a failure the worse is MSNBC followed by NBC, CBS, CNN, New York times which are traitors, majority of papers in California, Massachusetts.
So please tingling up my leg!!

McCain is a great American and a soldier of a different era. His shoot first and then think about what was said is becoming very common. When he stacks up against the an agile and sharp democratic nominee like Obama and enters a one on one debate he will certainly not shine and then it will become apparent to his most closest supporters that he is not going to be the best president for 2009 and onwards. He looks like the person who people will say after he has gone that he was not in his prime when he reached his seventies. McCain will serve well as a senator and should continue that role.

Jason you said that McCain’s son has served in Irak and he went there 8 times but still he cannot make a difference between shia and sunni, between AlQaeda and Iran. What a shame, can he learn at all? His brain should be too old for him to learn anything anymore. Next time he will be viiting Irak he should invite his beloved friend “Hill the Bosnian General” so she could hlep him to understand the difference between Suni-Shia-AlQaeda-Iran-Snipers. God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA08.

I am not a McCain supporter, but the first time he made the mistake, I didn’t take it seriously – everyone misspeaks. But, right now, the count of the number of times he has made this error is at FIVE. You would think he would have been careful about this after having Joe Lieberman correct him in front of hordes of cameras. Imagine if Obama or Clinton made this same error FIVE times and that too, in front of Petraeus and their other colleagues. McCain would be hollering from the rooftops about their lack of knowledge and experince, blah, blah. He SHOULD NOT be held to a different standard.

Do we really need a President who finished 894th out of 899 in his graduating class?
I don’t think so. It would SO nice to have, just for a change, some intelligence in the White House.

The impetus behind McCain’s war making urges are clear, ignorance of the facts and a possibly senile mind steeped in bigotry. Let’s not forget that he “hated the gooks.”
Sunnis, Shi’ites, doesn’t matter…right Mr. McCain? All that matters is that we send our servicemen to kill them. After all, they’re all Muslims, my friends.
God help the United States of America. We need it.

This is only fair to discuss, along with 100 Years, because the other two would have been pilloried for these constant mistakes. These are not misstatements. They could be lack of knowledge, which trashes the ‘experience’ angle McCain once had.

McCain is the most honest of the three people running. But I’m finally learning a little about where he wants to take the country and it’s sounds like more of the same if not worse. He wants tax cuts for corporations, including big oil; major changes to health insurance, including those of us who already have insurance; a “win” in Iraq, which can only mean that we spend more American lives to build an Islamic government; views on domestic issues that don’t square with what most Americans believe, and a little faking with the evangelicals. I like that he’s sometimes brutally honest, but I just don’t like his policies and I don’t want my daughter to have to pay for them for the rest of her life.
