McCheese Still On the Fence; Quimby a No-Show
100 Pennsylvania Mayors formally jumped on the Clinton bandwagon. (Well, the 100th did, anyway. Officially.)
(And yes, before you ask, the "100" does include Mayor Stanley Zamerowski of Pringle, PA, population 991.)
Unfortunately for Clinton, ABC News’ Eloise Harper points out, only 19 of the 100 Mayors showed up at the big event in Harrisburg today.
Per the AP, the other 81 mayors’ names were listed on placards.

Yeah
It’s a joke… she has all of the political establishment in PA …these are the people who these mayors count on for backing when they run. It’s not a big surprise they got their names on placards with their higher-ups and support structure saying…you need to back Clinton…
what is more telling is …they are so “strongly” supporting her they couldn’t show up for the big rally.
This is a joke and proves how much support she really rallies from these people… the 100 has more to do with Rendell than it does Clinton.

well, with all the backing sen clinton got from the PA old school old boys network of the dem party… yeah, it would be a big story if Obama got 100 mayors… the fact that Clinton got 100 and 19 showed up is telling in the opposite direction.

If Hillary had the lock on Pennsylvania like the media paints the picture, she doesn’t need to pull out all the stops, does she?
She’s worried, very worried. She knows that she’s standing on an island in Pennsylvania and eventually she’s going to have to move to the real world where she is highly scorned. There aren’t any other places to claim birthrights and hunting trips along with her “little girl” stories.
To sum it up. Reality awaits. Enjoy the political island of Pennsylvania and those hick towns while you can. Everyone knows that diversity is not represented in Scranton, yet she paints it like it’s mainstream America.
What a joke, although it’ll all be over soon.

There are bazillions of towns in Pa. It’s a quirk of the state, where no tiny town will agree to merge with another. The result is there are mayors for practically every street corner. 100 mayors? Big whoop.

West Coast Mess
As usual, you are missing the point. The 100 didn’t “just” endorse her — old news!
How many mayors are there in PA?
If anyone is going to turn out “bitter” it will be Hillabeans, because her “over-the-top” attacks haven’t done the job! Hillabeans is just what Senator Obama was warning about — folks who come in and talk about guns and religion to distract you from the issues!
Go Annie Oakley Clinton!

Clinton can’t even give a speech in the mainstream cities on Pennsylvania without people either booing, ignoring or totally talking over her.
Is this the state where she has a COMMANDING LEAD?? She knows she’s in trouble. Why does she have to pull the “100 Mayor” hat trick in a place that she’s supposedly up 20+ points?
Polls are for lemmings, folks. You know it. She’s in trouble.

The title of this article is beyond insulting. More elitism from the MSM I see. But at least Tapper reported it, which is more than we can say for CNN or NBC, who have for all intent purposes, become all day, 24/7 Obamamercials. It’s so sad the liberals are about to make the same mistake they always do. Face it dems, Obama peaked right before OH and TX and it’s taken the 24/7 shilling of the media to hobble him along. He hasn’t won any big states except IL. Is this guy really going to beat the repubs? Are you kidding me?

With support from over 100 mayors (McCheese will come around if he knows what is good for him), you’d think Hillary is certain to win PA by 30-35%.

The superdelegates are going to look at Hillary’s 37% approval and 53% disapproval ratings, and realize she can’t win with numbers like that.

The liberal elitists once again are igmorant about small town America. being a mayor is a sideline gig. They have day jobs and are well known in the community. 100 mayors may attract a lot more voters than Obama’s millions in impersonal TV ads.

“It is true,” Obama added, “I am amused about this notion of eltitist,” given that he was raised by a single mother who for a time relied on food stamps and married a woman of humble means as well. “We both had to finance our entire law school educations borrowing money, and we paid off our student loans about five years ago, six years ago…
“We lived for the first 13 years in our marriage, up until three years ago, in a one-bedroom condo without a garage,” Obama said, “which means, if you live in Chicago, you are scraping ice from your windshield” in the morning.

Trouble is, Obama might be a thinker, and it’s clear that regardless of his impoverished upbringing, he still believes in the philosophy that people voting on “values” issues is a flaw. In fairness to Obama, he is not the only one. Many liberals ascribe to this way of thinking. That somehow, these values or culture issues are somehow invalid, or wrong. Thus rendering those who vote based on them stupid. There is a book out entitled “What is wrong with Kansas”.. that has this as it’s subject. The problem is, values voters aren’t voting based on some personality flaw, they actually hold the belief. The longer the democratic party marginalizes, or tries to tell them they are stupid, or unthinking, or small, the more elections they will lose. This is why the democrats keep losing elections. They fail to understand the value, instead trying to explain it away and marginalize it. It’s why John Edwards would have been the best candidate, and it’s why Obama is the worst candidate. No matter how he tries to dance around this, the cat is out of the bag. The democratic party has got to move back to the center and start valuing small town, southern, midwestern and western voters. Can’t win it with the big cities, ya’ll.. we’ve tried that, it doesn’t work.

If only “elitist” were solely defined by income – then we could so easily identify them. Unfortunately income isn’t the only contributing factor, enabling Obama to hide his superior attitude for so long.
Bill and Hillary Clinton have devoted their entire working lives to making things better for the average American. They started out middle class and ended up much better off. Isn’t that the American dream?
Barack and Michelle Obama have spent their entire working lives to make things better for themselves. (I’m not convinced his community organizer days weren’t just a stepping stone for him, but would love to hear others weigh in on this.)

the problem with obama supporters is that they are naive mostly.
hillary and obama have almost equal party support so, whichever one gets the nomination will have some fairly healthy party support .
heres the thing though, the democratic nominee will definitely need more than that democratic support to win the general election , the nominee will need republican defector votes as well.
obama is so far left that he can count on NO REPUBLICAN DEFECTIONS TO HELP HIM, he is widely hated by republicans .
this is the simple reason hillary is a better choice for the nomination , she has a more centrist appproach and ,therefor ,a better chance to attract disgruntled republicans ,therefor a better chance to be elected president,a democratic president ,which is what is needed AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
got that mr. articulate?

why did the 81 other mayors NOT show up?
What an example for the folks who are expected to cast their vote for Hillary!

unfortunately kirk ,education doesnt lead to intelligence , and education doesnt necessarily lead to wisdom (opposite of naive) either , although it can in some instances no doubt make some people THINK they are intelligent/wise…
my point? a person can go to harvard or yale but unless they study more than 2 or 3 political science courses , they are no expert in politics ,and most likely are ” naive” and “mis-informed”.
so kirk ,your “point” is ,in effect …pointless , just like so much of the pointless vapors that the obama supporters breath in deeply (without much thought ) and spew out in massive belches ,attempting it seems to obscure the true picture/reality of the political landscape.
wake up obamaittes ,youre moronically giving the oval office to the republicans one more time!!!!

It’s symbolic I’d say that Clinton’s 100 mayors were answered today by 10,000 Pennsylvanians who denounced Clinton’s devisive attacks and supported Obama:
More than 10,000 Pennsylvania voters – the majority of whom reside in small towns and rural areas throughout the state – have signed on to a letter supporting Senator Barack Obama as the one candidate who understands their frustrations and will stand up for them in Washington. The open letter was originally released by 21 community leaders throughout the state and an email was sent to supporters and undecided voters by Braddock Mayor John Fetterman.
“What Sen. Obama said is that over the last 25-30 years, working class people in places like Pennsylvania have been falling behind, and that politicians in Washington haven’t been looking out for them,” the letter reads. “He also said that, as a result, many people have become frustrated, angry and even bitter about all the broken promises. He was right.”
It concludes: “Unlike his opponents who have been part of the Washington establishment for decades, Barack Obama understands the struggles we are going through. We welcomed him with open arms as he made his way through small towns and rural areas on his recent bus tour across the state. And we will work day and night from now until the primary on his behalf not only because he has heard our frustrations, but because he speaks to our hope that Washington can actually work for people like us.”

What would the age of these mayors be?, I wonder after reading another amazing comment by Bill Clinton today. One would think that the Clintons would make great effort to attract more younger voters in PA. But no, on the contrary, he’s insulting them for they don’t get it -
“Older voters gravitate to Hillary Clinton because they’re too wise to be fooled by Barack Obama’s rhetoric, former president Bill Clinton told Pennsylvania voters today.
Clinton’s comments, to a packed high school gym about an hour north of Philadelphia, were one part presidential politics and one part legacy protection. His beef was with Obama’s contention that many of the problems facing the country today were simmering long before President Bush took office seven-plus years ago.
“I think there is a big reason there’s an age difference in a lot of these polls,” he said. “Because once you’ve reached a certain age, you won’t sit there and listen to somebody tell you there’s really no difference between what happened in the Bush years and the Clinton years; that there’s not much difference in how small-town Pennsylvania fared when I was president, and in this decade.”

So this explains why he put his foot in his mouth with China and younger voters today! Not that it makes me want to vote for Hillary ever again anyway, but take it as it is.
China, you ask? L.A.Times – A firm that has donated to the president’s charity is accused of collaborating with the government in its crackdown on Tibetan activists.WASHINGTON — In brief comments on the campaign trail in Pennsylvania, former President Clinton said that his fundraising relationship with a Chinese company involved in Internet censorship did not pose a potential conflict of interest for his wife’s presidential campaign. Even though the Chinese Web firm, Alibaba Inc., recently carried a government-issued Internet “wanted notice” urging the arrest of Tibetan protesters, he said that he backed Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s tough words on China.
“Perhaps it is time that we, here on DailyKOS, begin to show more tolerance for the William Jefferson Clinton who campaigns, today. He clearly is not the President we helped elect, and may not be able to either identify, or control his current mental missteps.”
John McDougall, MD = Bill Clinton’s Madness: A Consequence of Heart-Bypass Surgery Brain Damage

One of the savviest politicians of our generation, known for his wit, charm, and calm under extreme pressure, Bill Clinton appears out of character in the speeches and interviews televised since his bypass surgery September 6, 2004—and his mental deterioration may be accelerating. Remember, this is the president who withstood public impeachment before the entire world for his relationship with Monica Lewinski without once losing control. Now, he is easily angered by hecklers, and makes factual mistakes and racial slurs while aggressively defending his wife’s campaign for presidency. Everyone sees his mental and emotional decline, yet to date, no medical professionals have spoken out about the cause or offered help. Not a single one—not one bypass surgeon, cardiologist or psychiatrist—has stepped forward in his defense; even though all of them are trained to recognize “post bypass surgery cognitive dysfunction.” One of the best-kept secrets in medicine is the brain damage caused during bypass surgery. During my 40 years of medical practice I have never heard a doctor warn a patient before bypass surgery that an expected complication is memory loss. After surgery when the family complains of dad’s fits of anger, I have never heard a doctor admit that personality change is a common consequence of surgery. Yet these well-recognized side effects have been reported in medical journals since 1969.

(march)R&R – Clinton +13
——————————–
MN (16) 6/3/08
no polling
——————————–
SD (15) 6/3/08
no polling
——————————–
Superdelegates not projected = 313
Unpledged delegates not included but expected = 76 (can be appointed by state committees)
MI delegates not included = 128 (possible court case pending) – Clinton +15
FL delegates not included = 186
(court case pending and committee in discussion for proposed 1/2 delegate allocation) – Clinton +17
TX caucus delegate count under investigation. 67 delegates, Obama took 56% of these, were certified but may be challenged since TX is refusing to allow a legal audit.
For those who dont want to do the math, using the projections, giving Obama 40% of Michigan (that we dont know if he earned), using the 1/2 delegate allocation for MI and FL that a DNC member has proposed, and splitting the contests without poll projections:
Going into the convention, assuming no delegate allocation or SD flipflops are made, Obama would have an 84 delegate lead, be behind significantly in the popular vote, and in need of more superdelegates and unpledged delegates than are available. (Before you argue, he would also need more superdelegates than are available without MI and FL but would not be as far behind in the popular vote.)
This is the exact scenario that superdelegates were created for and a multi-ballot convention would be required barring any backroom deals or a candidate withdrawing from the race. Let the voters speak so we can all listen!

Americans do not want to be lied to by their leaders and politicians. We teach our children not to lie and steal so why would we want to elect a lying Politician into the Whitehouse, someone we cannot trust and something we have had enough of the last 8 years. Clinton’s latest story of learning to shoot “ducks” behind the cottage her grandfather built, sounds and smells a lot like “Bosnian Sniper Fire”. Then we have Bill stating “falsely” the following — B. Clinton “[s]ays at campaign railly in Corydon, Indiana that throughout seven stops in North Carolina, ‘Everywhere I go there are all these people with signs, saying I’m not bitter – I’m not bitter.’ ABC’s Sarah Amos says his comments were well-received but ‘not entirely accurate.’ For instance, she says there were no signs at his rallies saying ‘I’m not bitter,’ as he claimed. ” This Political couple has no Shame! America, we have to ask ourselves, which is more eggrecious, a politician telling us the hard truth, the things we may not want to hear but need to hear OR a politician telling us a Fantasy/Lie, like the Bosnia Sniper Fire fabrication and “duck” shooting PERFORMANCE, things we did not need to hear because not Truth, and which is a betrayal of the public trust and a deeply flawed Character Issue. America needs and will demand a President we can trust — who is basically honest, forthright, and Authentic!
