Obama Corrects ‘Obama bin Laden’ Slip

ABC News’ Sunlen Miller and Cullen Dirner Report: Sen. Barack Obama quickly corrected a slipup about his name Monday at the Associated Press’ annual luncheon in Washington, DC.

Dean Singleton, board chair of the Associated Press and a longtime newspaper executive, asked Obama about the possibility of shifting troops into Afghanistan to fight against the al Qaeda leader.

"Can you imagine shifting a substantial number of Afghanistan — a substantial number to Afghanistan where the Taliban has been gaining strength and Obama Bin Laden is still at large?" Singleton asked

Obama, clearly a bit agitated, quickly interrupted him, “I think that was Osama bin Laden,” the Democratic candidate said, and then took a big gulp of water from the glass next to the podium.

Singleton quickly apologized.

"If I did that I’m so sorry," he said.

“No, no, no, this is part of the -– part of the exercises that I’ve been going though over the last fifteen months,” Obama said, “Which is why it’s pretty impressive that I’m standing here.”

The audience applauded Obama’s quick retort.

Watch the VIDEO HERE.

After the event, an embarrassed Singleton could be heard off camera, but on microphone, telling an unidentified man: "Can’t believe I did that. I didn’t think I did. But he said it so I assumed I did. So, certainly wasn’t on purpose."

Surely that was a setup by the Obama camp to distract voters from the ongoing issues and garner sympathy. Politics as usual.

I don’t know why he doesn’t go after Hillary in the same manner. If Obama even slips or slightly trips, she is there to push him down and wipe the floor with him. Her disgraced husband and her supporters and classless surrogates are all right there, ready to pounce another Democrat.
He, on the other hand, does not do that to her. He ALWAYS lets these stories in the news go by WITHOUT even a whisper or comment from the guy. He better slam her come Wednesday night on this Bosina stuff, the elitiest crap and other junk or he will lose my support.
Anyone with even half a brain knows, an elite person is someone who makes MORE than 100 in less than 7 years – I don’t give a damn if they were the ex-president or first lady – that is still TO much money… So, he better go after her on that. He better let her know, the only one out of touch is the person that would vote against a bill that would make it easier for people to get out of debt if they so chose that method.
Therefore, she is the elite person, she made over 100 million and she voted against the common man, now she better answer to the Amer. people who is the elite person of the two. STEP IT UP OBAMA! Stop being NICE, THAT S//T DOESN’T WORK WITH GHETTO STYLE POLITICIANS AND TACTICS………..
If he can correct and comment on stupid comments such as the above, surely he can take on the POOREST MANAGED CAMPAIGN IN MODERN HISTORY and its candidate – and a campaign run by seasoned vets…..

I saw the speech and the Q&A session.
Senator Obama was not agitated- he actually made a joke and kind of laughed it off.
These reporters are always adding there own interpretation which is biased. I don’t know why they do this- it’s sad most people will never get to see how genuine and down to earth Obama is. Plus, he knows how to laugh at himself.

Posted by: Nancy Kandel | April 14, 2008, 3:07 pm 3:07 pm

“clearly a bit agitated”? I was watching it and he didn’t interrupt him, he responded at the end of the question, smiling. What he interrupted was the apology to tell him it was alright and his answer broke the tension getting a lot of laughter before applause.
Come on. Even the google mews summary of Fox’s report on this was
“After a pause and a smile, he said “I think that was OSAMA bin Laden.””
You know if he was agitated they’d want to report it.

Posted by: Joyn | April 14, 2008, 3:07 pm 3:07 pm

Barack Obama himself never mentioned the name “Osama”, he always say “Bin Laden”. I do not know whether others have already noticed this!
I think to avoid the confusion we should also get used to say “Bin Laden”!

I think Obama is cracking up to be quite honest. This bitter-gate has damaged his campaign. You can see the stress on his face and the angst in his words.
But to be fair, this article is everything we Clinton supporters have been FURIOUS about since January.
Taking something like this and giving it national exposure doesnt help Obama and further fuels the fact he is not a mainstream american.
We Clinton supporters have put up with this type of behavior to bash Bill and Hillary for months, so part of us is GLEEFUL seeing Obama get roasted.
But mostly we object to this low kind of media mudslinging.

Obama’s comment regarding small town PA is an honest comment (and truth hurts to some people….). Who knows? maybe they (people who got emotional over the comment) will vote for Hillary or maybe they will go with Obama and vote for their interest. We shouldn’t make same mistake as we did in last two elections (poor white working people voting for George Bush…they got messed up badly by Bush) Let’s not vote against our interest…Hillary is for rich people only!!! I hope American wake up and vote with our interest and that is voting for Obama who will stand up for everyone including middle class America!!!

Let me tell you Clinton people something, she doesn’t think to much about small town American herself. The extent of her strategy was to win big states and wrap up the nomination. She doens’t like small states and small towns. Give me a break. She didn’t start start to visit those states and southern states until she HAD too…..
The elite stuff will come back to bite her in the arse too. She grew up wealthy and had all the advantages. She is now filthy rich. He grew up marginal with a single mother and grandparents that raised him. He is no where near weathly. He favors policies that advantage the common man, she votes against those policies….. That bankruptcy bill is but one bill that will bite her in the you know where. EL is right, she is the elite one here. This attack on him has soured many more Democrats against her.
In the end, she better BLOW HIM OUT IN ALL the remaining contest. If she doesn’t no comment, no preacher, no anything will matter b/c she WILL NEVER be POTUS. EVER.

Who ever says the small town talk by Obama is truth .. go get some kool aid.
Someone asked him why he is having trouble connecting with white small voters in PA?
His response was they are bitter and cling to religion, gun, anti trade, anti immigration and show hate towards people who are not like them.
He could have answered the question better. He is not perfect but will not apologize. He says heis not perfect and that is one reason he should be president, but he say his opponents are not perfect and so they cannot be elected president.
Double standard moran.

I think some people may have missed out on American culture since 9/11 (at least in the south-east) where anyone with a name even remotely similar to Osama Bin Laden could be sure to receive as much ridicule as possible. If Obama seemed “too pat”, it could be because he is used to dealing with these kinds of slip-ups and/or that kind of ridicule.

If downing whiskey, and drinking mugs of beer makes a good President, vote for Hillary.
If you need someone who has no clue on the economy, has no clue on who America is fighting in Iraq, if you need someone who thinks the down turn in the economy is our fault and we must bail out ourselves. Vote the Cyborg (Sen. McCain).
If growing up in a single home, living on food stamps, paying of huge students loans for years, working with the poor for over 20 years, generating interest in politics, making mistakes and apologizing, fighting for the American people, ending the war and fighting to improve America’s image abroad. She was suppose to blow him out in the March 4th contest… Texas, ha! Four stinking points there….Listen, I’m sorry but if she can’t do any better than that, she better step aside.
For you or her supporters to think he should step aside, proves you people are on crack. He has run a far better campaign than she has. If the measure of her strength and management style is in how she’s run the campaign, she sure in hell won’t be able to run the country.
He is NOT bowing down or out to her. Put the crack pipe down, idiots.

There are quite a few Osama’s living in America and now because the name is under attack; some are using names like Joe. Folks prove how ingnorant or intolerant they are when seeking to inflame simply because of a name. Being in a diverse economy is it not beyond the realm; that an American could work for non-American company and it would be ashamed to think that say a company from Japan would select folks based on a name.
Also the way we are having such a field day if many non-American companies will select some other country.Think about it.

chris,
I am not a big fan of reading comments by people who revise history. She was never suppose to beat Oblameless big in Tx.
He out spent Mrs. Clinton 4/5-1 in Tx. and Oh. and still couldn’t beat her.
If your candidate has such a lock on the nominee then why doesn’t he beat her in big electoral college states?
He only beats her in blood red states and caucus states. You really think he will expand the base in November with the youth and first time voters. Give it up, this HAS never happened and WILL never happen.
Why has your boy been trying to get HRC to get out of this race prematurely?
The bloom has come off the rose my friend. A big loss in PA will raise some SERIOUS doubts about Obambi’s elect ability among the s.d.’s
My Advice, prepare for the fall early and often.

br asked
“what do you think Obama meant when he said “people show antipathy toward others who are not like them?”
Was he simply trying to explain why people in rural areas might not vote for him?”
In part. The original question was actually someone wondering if Rendell was right and racism was why Hillary was favored there.
His whole response was 5 paragraphs and 4 1/2 was about how the problem was they’ve been let down by government and politicians for decades, they come in and make promises and things don’t get better. He did say it’s even harder to listen to some young, black guy with a funny name that they don’t know. But it was more about it being up to him to be clear what he’d try to do.
The lines that got talked about was part of how they are so burnt on government they sometimes vote against their own economic interests because of what they hold to. He;s talked many times that in hard times it’s easier to blame others groups for our problems…blacks, latinos, whites might see the other groups as opposed to their interests or competitors instead of realizing we are all in this together.
So he was trying to explain they are not racists and they have reason not to trust government and politicians. I wish more of what he said got attention.
He has also described the bitterness he saw in poor neighborhoods he worked in as a community organizer after massive layoffs from plant closings and the mistrust they had.
It was not meant as an insult or excuse.

Seems to me like everyone here roasting Obama here after he’s had to put up with this nonsense (and it is nonsense) about his name have an agenda for another candidate or party.
I don’t think Obama might necessarily be the best candidate. But if you can’t beat him on the issues and then resort to trashing him because his name sounds foreign and rhymes with “Osama”, I think we sadly might deserve another 8 years of Bush.
If you don’t like his policies, say so. Don’t go around making stuff up about his name or how he is “elitist” (and this coming from Hillary Clinton, of all people. What a Joke).

That’s even better, Foxnews. They are an authoritative first hand source on Jimmy Carter and Al Gore. I’m sure Bill O’Reilly has both of their cell phone numbers. Fox is trying to hustle the same story off of the Huffington Post that started with the bogus scotsman.com article, which is so far off mainstream it makes Foxnews look like the Pope’s personal press office.
By the way, I hope Carter does endorse Obama, the sooner the better. I hope he is stupid enough to do it before Pennsylvania. Carter just lost all credibility with the American people by entering into a dialogue with Hamas, clearly a terrorist organization, from the viewpoint of the right and the left.

Obama supports Jimmy Carter meeting with Hamas leader Khaled Mashal, while Democratic and Republican leaders are condemning Carter for the meeting. “Hamas terrorists are responsible for the murders of at least 26 American citizens—some of them teenagers, children and infants,” write Reps. Mark Kirk (R-IL) and Shelley Berkley (D-NV), along with their colleagues, in a bipartisan letter to Carter asking him not to meet with “the man who ordered their deaths.” Obama’s friends include Rezko, a Syrian, home to many terrorists, Khalidi, labeled a member of the PLO by the state department in the early 1970′s, Edward Said, now deceased supporter of the PLO. Obama, supporter of Arab terrorists, not small town Americans. Our Manchurian candidate..”I am what you have been waiting for”…must be on the reporters brains, too bad they can’t report what they really know…

========================================
Obama, how elite do you want your President?========================================

Posted by: WestCoastMessenger | April 14, 2008, 4:24 pm 4:24 pm

It would be nice if people who are screaming about Obama being “elitist” and insulting to small town Americans actually bothered and read what he said.
You know, read the 4 or so paragraphs of his whole answer. To have context. I know it goes beyond listening to the 20 second, 2-line sound bite on ABC, CNN etc. But it helps if you are really interested in what he was actually trying to say.
Truth is, however, many of the people blasting Obama here made up their mind about him long ago. They were just looking for a bone to gnaw at so they can tear him down and “prove” to everyone they were right all along.
Well, it’s the nature of politics and the nature of people sadly. Political discourse in this country is about as mature as a 5th grade schoolyard yelling match.
I’m voting Obama because no matter what you say about him, he consistently tries to raise the bar of politics in this country, as opposed to it being about sound bites and the big “scandal” of the week. Really folks, if he can stay away from Hillary’s sniper fire bit (which anyone could have exploited for political advantage) then the man is either a total fool or he’s trying to act on principle.
I like that kind of character personally. Even if I am called “delusional”, “stupid”, or “suckered in by the Obama cult” for it. Judge people by their actions I always say. That’s in the Bible you know (and it makes perfect sense).

Posted by: Alberto | April 14, 2008, 4:25 pm 4:25 pm

Cindyct, “Bitter” is a word used by Obama, not Clinton. Mrs. Clinton will not and should not let this story die anytime soon. Hillary needs to keep it going because it is important and the media will try to brush it under the carpet. Unfortunately, in the absence of the media confronting Obama, Hillary must do it.
Btw, everytime Hillary confronts Obama, the mysognistic press vilifies her. She has been in a no win situation since Iowa.

I am completely P.Od about his Pa. Comments! We are not bitter people! If the Fool would have taken the time to tour our state- not just a couple of ghetto areas outside of Philly- He would know that Pennsylvania has thousands of small, Beautiful, Quant, well cared for towns, villages and hamlets from one corner to the next! We are the very defination of Americana!! To live here is the American Dream!! Town after town you will find Happy, Prosperous Folks, ( Sorry to tell you Obama ) We do not hide behind our “Guns” or Cling to our ‘Religion” as Obama would like to portray us . But then how could he possibly continue to Tout his message of Hope- or convince shallow minds that He is the Coming Saviour ??
How insulting it is for him or anyone to speak of us as if we were poor forgotten refugees hiding and waiting for him to come and rescue us from ourselves!!
And a word of caution to you “Barack Hussein Obama”- Those folks who do carry guns and cling fast to their ways of life- do not look upon you as anything more than A radical ,Afro-American whose Church members hate whites and blame us for 9/11!! This doe not go over very well in families who lost loved ones because of a mid-east radical with a very similar name to that of Obama-Osama- Barack Hussein- Sadaam -Hussein-Bin Ladin Iraq- etc.
-these folks still have loved ones at war! We consider ourselves American-Americans! We do not have hidden secrets or links to terrorists! And we do not like being labeled as “Bitter” or spoke of as if we are lost ,fearful, Citizens !! Especially by An inexperienced, arrogant, Half-american named Barack Hussein Obama! !!

Clinton has no one but to blame but herself
The article also quotes Carter and Gore are in talks of when to endorse
Both are planning to meet with Clinton privately
If she refuses to drop out… I guess its then they will take action
When asked about Carter and Gore possible endorsement of Obama
The Clinton campiagn quoted…
“This is an incredibly close race and there are still millions of voters who haven’t cast ballots yet. We think every voter should have a chance to have their voice heard”
I’m guessing the endorsement will happen after PA
Gore could care less about “credibility”
He cares about the party

Posted by: Jason A | April 14, 2008, 4:37 pm 4:37 pm

The “bitter” comment was an accurate statement. Yet, some want him to be politically correct vs being honest. The trouble with Barack is he may be too honest for his own good. The political arena is no place for an honest person – at least not openly before you get in office. He needs to learn that you make promises you can’t fulfill and build people up even without giving them the facts. Once you’re in office, then you go with the reality. Promise the world, deliver what you can! I believe, as apparently do many millions of others, Barack really wants to do good for this country. Because he is a black man or white man (since he’s as much one as the other in the eye’s of God – who doesn’t care either way) who can demonstrate quite easily his intelligence, to many Americans – he has not “stayed in his place.” This is why it is so easy and such a comfort for some to label him an elitist. He’s going or has gone where America has attempted to keep (black men) him from going. Let’s just be honest about it and get on with the business of making this country a better place for everyone. People are bitter and they get even more bitter the worse the economy gets.

Boy, Senator Obama can stop a person dead center when that person makes an incorrect remark but when he does it, why, it doesn’t matter. He simply sweeps it under the rug as unimportant and them become very angry when other people are offended by his statements. When is this man going to learn, this sort of thing is a two-way street. What you say wrong should and will come back to haunt you. Speak correctly the first time or be called down. And sometimes, an apology is not enough.

Obama is Elitist? While Obama was taking out student loans to go to Harvard Law and working for civil rights, Hillary was sitting on the board of directors at Wal Mart working only for corporations. Harvard and any other top school is NOT cheap, so coming out of school a quarter of a million dollars in debt is not elitist. Hillary said all the states Obama has won, “don’t matter”. Hillary says everyone who has lost their job is “optimistic” (yeah right). Hillary says we shouldn’t disenfranchase Michigan and Florida voters (which is the opposite of what she said a year ago when she agreed their delegates would not be seated) yet tells North Dakota’s pledged delegates they can switch sides, thus disenfranchising all those who voted for Obama. Hillary voted for the Iraq war and now says she was “misled”. Hillary voted for NCLB, then says “Bush mismanaged the program”. Hillary supported NAFTA for a decade and now says she was privately opposed. Hillary says she was fired at in Bosnia (a year after the war ended, no less) and now says she “mispoke” (NO one forgets being fired at) even as those who were there contradicted her story (including the little girl who gave her the poem). Hillary says she supports universal healthcare, yet takes more money from the pharmaceutical and health care industry than any other member except one. Hillary claims to have foreign policy experience, yet angers the Irish over her comments about the peace process, angers Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia over her comments about sniper fire, can’t pronounce Medvedev’s name, and didn’t know Musharaff wasn’t up for re-election. I’ve seen no evidence that she knows anything about foreign policy. What has Hillary not lied about? Where does Hillary really stand? Based on these facts alone including countless others, is why Obama has my support. Obama worked his butt off to get where he’s at and understands what the average American goes through on a daily basis. Student loan repayments can be half your monthly paycheck. Obama could have worked for a large firm and made millions. He could have lived a much cushier life style. Hillary is the elitist. Hillary is out of touch to not believe people are bitter. Hillary is the reason so many jobs have gone overseas. Hillary is responsible for the Iraq War. She’s made a lot of “mistakes and mistatements”. Somewhere in there people have to realize that as much as Hillary wants to shift the responsibility for her actions, take credit for all the positive accomplishments of her husband and Congress, while shifting the focus away from her lack of judgement and failures. Hillary tells everyone who is to blame for their problems and talks a lot of dirt about everyone else, but never do you hear Hillary answer a question straight nor do you hear her talk about how she plans to implement her policies or her ideas. OBAMA 08!!!!!!

We, the Blue collars of PENN Totally and unequivocally agree with Senator Obama. Yes, We are bitter and angry that our jobs has been gone and none of these administration have helped us.
Bill Clinton Championed NAFTA. Hillary Clinton supported her Husband on that.
Mccain and George Bush only made it worse by tapping into unnecessary war and channelled much needed money into it.
Yes, we are bitter and angry and when no hope is forthcoming, WE start to PRAY AND START STEERING our energy and pass times into Games like Hunting. We hate hearing that immigrants are getting our jobs.
Many of us turn to these not because we know of their existence for the first time but because we want GOD TO DELIVER US OUT FROM THESE HARDSHIPS.
Do HILLARY CLINTON AND JOHN MCCAIN KNOW WHAT IT MEANS TO NOT BE ABLE TO FEED ONES FAMILY?
How many times have I cried because I wonder how I can raise up my children? They made millions and John MCCain cannot even help Mortgage Forclosure VICTIMS With government Money, not his own money? Pls GIVE ME A BREAK.!
DO WE NEED A PRESIDENT THAT drinks BEER AND THEN WHISKEY at the same time? What message are we sending to our young children?
I don’t mean to demean her, but look at her face when not in make-up. Is it not all these drinkings that cause those?
I BET OUR BELOVED WOMEN BLOGGERS WILL AGREE WITH ME.
AMERICA WAKE UP! WE ARE GOING TO VOTE FOR OBAMA.
Yes those who are not going to vote for him won’t vote for him not because of HIS CANDID REMARK.

Senator Oboma is so impressed by himself that his ego is bigger than a l6 wheeler but his intergity is smaller than a thimble. He has not proven himself as a leader since being elected to political office in south Chicago. The place has not improved under his leadship. He is simply an over-ambitious politician wanting power without the judgement, experience, honesty and policies to get elected. Hope voters wake up soon. He has nothing to offer America except his ego.

Hey Nick:
Then why don’t you run for president? Do you believe in this country? If so, then stop complaining, and get your butt out there and run…
Run Nick, Run!!! Run Nick, Run!!!
Be assured, however, I will not vote for you….

Sorry Paul, but I have just two things to say to you:
1) Pay attention and get the entire story before you open your pie hole.
Obama DID apologize in case he offended anyone (although I don’t know why anyone would be offended by that true comment. More likely they should be offended by the way they’ve been treated and IGNORED by this administration, which is what Obama was referring to.
2) Learn how to spell.

John Baer: Decades of working-class neglect – now that’s insulting
By John Baer
Philadelphia Daily News
Daily News Political Columnist
SOME THOUGHTS on the latest diversion of Campaign ’08, a campaign apparently hell-bent on keeping the nation mired in its own stupidity.
As a native-born, small-town Pennsylvanian, a son of native-born, small-town Pennsylvania parents – one from the coal region, one from Lancaster County – let me assure you that the so-called offensive, condescending things Barack Obama said about the people I come from are basically right on target.
“Bitter” perhaps best describes my late mother, an angry Irish Catholic who absolutely clung to her religion.
Dad, also a journalist, wasn’t really bitter as far as I know, but he sure liked to hunt.
So, despite carping from Hillary Clinton and annoying yapping from her surrogates (really, it’s like turning on the lights at night in a puppy farm), I take no offense.
What’s offensive to me is suggesting that small-town, working-class, gun-toting and/or religious Pennsylvanians are somehow injured by a politician’s words.
Are you kidding me?
They’re injured all right, but the injury is long-term and from lots more than “just words.”
They’ve been injured from decades of neglect by political cultures in Washington and Harrisburg driven by special interests.
They’re injured by a system of isolated, insulated political leadership that protects itself and the status quo above all else.
They’ve been harmed by a lack of political guts to fix a health-care system that works against the poor and forces middle-class families to pay more for less, while at the same time giving politicians the best coverage taxpayer money can buy.
They’ve been taken for granted by political parties and candidates who stay in power by – and this was the apparent gist of Obama’s remarks – forcing attention and debate on issues tied to guns, religion and race (precisely because such issues resonate) rather than real problems such as health care and the economy.
They’ve been consistently made fools of by their own elected representatives who, year after year, pull fat salaries ($169,000 for every member of Congress; $150,000 in salary, perks and benefits for every state lawmaker) with automatic raises no matter how little gets done.
A new Associated Press poll shows Congress’ approval rating at 23 percent. And don’t even get me started on the Pennsylvania Legislature.
Insulting?
What’s insulting are the sizes of salaries and perks of politicians in a state where the median household income is $43,714.
What’s insulting is the ongoing failure of elected “leaders” to deal with long-term, working-class worries while insuring their own futures with hefty, over-rich pensions.
And, look, what Obama said, given a charged atmosphere close to a critical primary, was ill-advised – not because he’s wrong, but because it changes the discussion.
The 24-hour broadcast-news cycle will jabber on this for days – the irony being that Obama’s “words,” which had positioned him so well, now threaten to trip him up.
Another irony is that the candidate running to effect change where change is needed, and to offer hope to those without it, is suddenly tagged as somehow diminishing those he seeks to serve.
So the question is whether Obama effectively defuses this, as he did the controversy surrounding his former minister. And that remains to be seen.
Just don’t tell me that he insulted a state or, given his background, that he’s an out-of-touch elitist.
And I especially don’t want to hear such arguments from a candidate who spent decades in the bubble of a governor’s mansion, the White House and the U.S. Senate, and under the blanket of $109 million income during the last eight years.
Pennsylvanians might cling to religion and guns. I hope they don’t cling to stupidity.

I don’t get why anyone thinks this could possibly be a set up. It doesn’t benefit Obama at all. Hillary’s been able to make a few points off playing the victim card, but I really don’t think Obama could.

Poor Mr. Singleton had a simple slip of the tongue that he did not realize he even had. Senator Barack Obama, clearly showing his arrogant side, used the innocent slip of the tongue as an opportunity to brag about himself and play the race victim. He does impress himself easily doesnt he! A man with this large a chip on his shoulder would make a bad President.

Posted by: eyes open | April 14, 2008, 5:03 pm 5:03 pm

Oh for Pete sake, do people honestly believe that the board chair of the Associated Press would go on camera and call the likely democratic nominee for president—that name—as a favor? Get real. Obama didn’t make a big deal of it. He kept it low key and corrected it with a smile. Every podium everywhere offers the speaker a glass of water. Both dems have been talking for fifteen months during this long primary. People get dry throats. How do you spell desperate?

Posted by: karela | April 14, 2008, 5:06 pm 5:06 pm

“Bob from Pennsylvania” – I am “from Pennselvania” too; born and raised in the Philly suburbs, and it makes me embarrassed that someone who would make such hate-filled and arrogant and nasty comments about Senator Hillary Clinton is a fellow Pennsylvanian. I mean really, Bob, making fun of the fact that Hillary, like a normal person, threw back a shot of Crown Royal? Making fun of how she looks without make-up? You sing the Barack song of the truly desperate. The majority of his cult-like “followers” do nothing on this site but attempt to total TRASH Senator Clinton. There is a real vengence and hatred and arrogance prevelant among most Barack Obama supporters. Its not good for Pennsylvania, and its not good for America. I realize that its difficult for you, but try to act civil and come up with better criticisms than “she drank a shot!”. Gee Whiz dude!

Sen. Obama is not arrogant at all. He really needs to push back on this sort of thing, even where it’s accidental. There are too many yahoos out there who insist on thinking Obama is a Muslim terrorist.
Why, some of these yahoos may be among us right now, even as we speak!

I was just curious, since people I know had written to them and received replies that that wasn’t the case.

Posted by: belle | April 14, 2008, 5:29 pm 5:29 pm

When you find “elitist” in your dictionary, you will see the irony of McCain calling Obama elitist.
McCain, who dumped his first wife who waited for him when he was a POW, to marry a very wealthy woman who funded his campaigns, and now wants to be the next in a series of white male presidents, is an elitist.
Clinton, former first lady who wants to keep her own family in charge of this country is even MORE elitist.
Barack Obama, who has built the largest grassroots campaign in history, made up of the most diverse constituency in history, is FAR from being an elitist.

The Bitter Obama surrogates, please keep the bitterness to yourselves. You are all bitter and angry just like Jeremiah Wright. You tried to hide the bitterness in the message of Change and Hope. You were able to cheat the many Americans who had loved this message. Ohio and PA were not that easy to cheat. Many of them are hard working and honest. They look for something more than empty rhetoric. Empty rhetoric is all you have and so you have become so much more bitter and you are beginning to blame the hard working people of PA. You want to make them believe that it is their fault for the sad state of the economy. That it is their fault if Hillary wins. People from PA are strong and proud. They are tough like Hillary and will stand up for what is right and not for Jeremiah Wright.

I doubt that an independent will win in a general election (sorry Ralph Nader, but you just can’t win) and so that leaves me having to choose a democrat, because god help us if another republican (particularly one that is so aligned with “Dubya” Bush) is elected!
And since Hillary is a PROVEN LIAR, that leaves Obama (even though he too has some faults). At least Obama doesn’t pander, grandstand, or more importantly… LIE!
I have a message for superdelegates: PLEASE STOP HILLARY CLINTON! She is destroying the Democratic party and will not stop until it is completely obliterated! Someone STOP her! All of you superdelegates get behind Obama and END this once and for all, or else fear yet another Bush term!

Obama – “It’s time to set a hard date to signal a new mission in Iraq and to begin to bring our troops home. It’s time to ensure that we complete the change in mission and the drawdown of our forces, by the end of April 2008 – a date that is consistent with the date in my plan back in January.”
Obama last week: United States should transition to an “over-watch” force of between 60,000 and 80,000 troops by the end of 2010, according to an article Friday in the New York Sun.

I also think politicians say a lot of things they dont believe is possible. Its their best bet to get votes. Dont belive me. Look at how hillary acts. Incidentally Vanessa – you are totally WRONG about Gore and Carter endorsing or asking anything of Clinton – I just received the following message, which was a follow up of two other, very very rapid fire answers from the Gore’s Office – Between CNN folks answering in 5 mintues to Gore’s people answering the same, you suppose my Laundry List Of Lies has someone’s ear?
4/14/2008 5:59pm
Gore Office [info@carthagegroup.com]
“That story was inaccurate and the Scotsman has been contacted and we have asked for a redaction. Mr. Gore has not endorsed a candidate and he has not shared with us plans to do so.”
Here was the first letter and answer:
“Dear Whoever You Think You Are,
Stop trying to decide for us. It’s not your vote to cast – it’s not your election to win or lose.
It is OUR VOTE and OUR CHOICE. Do not ram down our throats an unqualified, reverse racist, Muslim/terrorist sympathizing amateur who left his District in Chicago more like Haiti after a plague, then Home on the range.
Lifetime Democrats across the nation have decided that if you do this, we will send a lesson to you all, in the DNC and out of it, locally, and nationally – force this person on us, and thus ensuring a Democratic loss, and we will not only vote Republican for the first time EVER, we will leave the party and NEVER look back. All our passion, efforts, support, and money will be going with us. The media has done enough damage in their attempt to sway the vote. They look a lot like Pravda with less objectivity.
Again. Let US decide who wins our Nomination. Not you.
Sincerely with as much respect as I can must right now”
and her reply:
Dear Sir,
That rumor is simply untrue. We are working to get a retraction printed.
Cheers, Kalee
then my followup and her reply again:
“Dear Kalee,
Thank you for your swift reply. I am so tired of the media doing this to us it is just awful. I have been a lifelong democrat and I just can’t take the idea that for all these years my heroes may be a lot less than what they seem. I hope you get the retraction – but if in the end, the endorsement or push is the same, we will not stand by the party’s decision. I am trying to be honest here. I have YET to meet a fellow Dem, or hear from one (and we are on SavagePolitics.com with huge hit numbers and I have a list of lies on Obama that has swept the internet!) that will vote with the party if they force Obama down our throats while overlooking Wright, Ayers, NAFTA, Khalidi, Rezko, Never Been Proud, Hands in lap and not on heart, Bitter remarks, arrogance and inexperience to boot. District 11 is a nightmare not to be forgotten the way that Obama did, for higher ground and ambition. The job he did in District 11 is not indicative of the type of job one would expect to receive a promotion for. You are promoted on merits that are PROVABLE and real. Not on flowery speeches and not on self-invented historical connections that never existed (a la Selma getting him born, 4 years after his birth, or President Kennedy helping his father come to the US – in September 1960).
We cannot abide by this force-feeding. Please, if you are an official, please look into the statements and try to see if they are false before slamming me for being a racist, or a bigot or a liar on my own part. I am not saying you will do that, but I get hate mail beyond belief, without the accuser ever checking a date, a time, or a fact.
Thank you again for your reply!
Respectfully,
and her answer – note it doesn’t defend Obama in the SLIGHTEST -
“4/13/2008 11:13pm
I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND YOUR ANGER (emphasis added) and did not read anything into it other than your sincere concern. I am trying to get the record corrected, which is difficult in this environment!
Take care,
kalee
So if you are going to be a paid blogger, make sure your lies can’t be fact checked. You might want to pass that advice on to your boss. Dates, Times, Events, Facts, Figures – they are funny things – you can’t undo them, no matter how much Kool-Aid you pass out.

Mokpane, there’s no question about it. This has become a campaign for 2012. What happens to America in the interim is not Hillary’s problem (in her mind). Watch: if she doesn’t figure out a way to steal the nomination this time, she’ll talk a HUGE game about how much she’s going to campaign for Barack but watch how much she’s actually on the stump and watch how hard she tries to pull her supporters back in. It’ll be yet another example of her saying one thing and doing another.

Russ G…you seem correct! It was a gaffe. AND there bare some real ignorant and stupid people responding to this….most would guess are either Hillary or McCain supporters! If you like Bush and this stupid war in Iraq, Vote for McCain and go enlist in the military and ask for “footsoldier” duty in Baghdad for the rest of your life….which will probably be short on the streets of Baghdad. AND REMEMBER HILLARY VOTED FOR THIS STUPID WAR! I served in Vietnam which was also a stupid war. We have had too many stupid wars and McCain would keep us in Iraq for a 100 years! And Hillary would be there cheering McCain on!

Obama doesn’t deserve his US Senate seat — let alone the White House.
His whole career is based on divisive lies, and back stabbing people, with an incredible capacity for being absolutely uninspiring.
It took Barack Obama more than a year to repudiate his former pastor’s radical, racially-charged anti-American tirades, but when it came to denouncing Don Imus for his racial slurs against the Rutgers girls basketball team, it took Obama only a day to demand the shock jock be fired.
How about Obama’s relationship with another racist Reverend? This one is Rev. Meeks. Check him out!
If Obama thinks this about “working class people”, then what does he think about a man who was born in a manger, who had no formal education, was basically homeless and wondered around speaking to strangers?
NO OBAMA! We don’t need a president who looks down on us — we need a president who stands up for us.

So if you like Bush 43, then you will love McCain….Iraq forever, worsening economy, gas prices at near $5 per Gal, etc, etc. Go join the military and ask for duty on the streets of Baghdad if you love Bush and McCain so much….put your feet where your sick mind is.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — The Democratic Party on Monday filed a lawsuit against the Federal Elections Commission seeking to force the group to investigate whether Sen. John McCain has violated federal spending limits for his primary campaign.
The lawsuit, which was filed in the United States District Court in Washington, is the latest move by the Democratic National Committee that seeks to prove the Arizona senator locked himself into campaign spending limits earlier this year.
The DNC claims McCain did so when he used the prospect of $6 million in federal matching funds as collateral for a December bank loan to his campaign.
But after it became apparent he would be the Republican presidential nominee, McCain notified the FEC in early February that he was not claiming federal matching funds. Claiming those funds would limit his spending on the primary campaign to $54 million. Watch more on the public financing controversy »
The DNC then filed a complaint with the FEC in February, arguing that McCain should be forced to accept the matching funds — and the spending limits that come with it.
DNC Chairman Howard Dean said that McCain not only used the prospect of the funds as loan collateral, but he also accepted automatic ballot access in every state — an advantage given to those who accept federal matching funds. Those who do not accept federal matching funds are forced to gain ballot access themselves — a task that can cost millions of dollars.
McCain, a chief advocate of campaign finance reform, sought the option of public financing last fall when his campaign was in dire need of money.

Dems vs. McCain on campaign financing

The primary campaign officially lasts through the party’s convention at the end of the summer. FEC filings show McCain spent close to $60 million through the end of February, meaning a ruling in DNC’s favor would essentially leave McCain unable to campaign for the presidency over the next five months.
“Despite Sen. McCain’s apparent belief that the reforms he championed apply to everyone but himself, there is a compelling public interest in determining whether Sen. McCain agreed to participate in the matching funds program so he could get a loan for his campaign, then violated the terms of that agreement so he could ignore the spending cap and raise unlimited money from lobbyists and special interests,” Tom McMahon, the DNC’s executive director, said in a statement Monday.
The Republican National Committee called the lawsuit “total nonsense.”
“It is now clear that the trial-lawyer Democrats’ idea of campaigning for president is to hire lawyers and file frivolous lawsuits,” RNC spokesman Alex Conant said. “It’s unfortunate the DNC is now trying to drag the federal courts into their circus as well.”
According to FEC rules, the body has 120 days to act after a complaint is filed before court action can be taken. Less than half that amount of time has passed since the complaint was filed in February.
But the FEC is currently hamstrung by vacancies — four of the commission’s six seats are empty, and a deadlock between President Bush and the Senate has stalled nominees for those posts. With the absence of a quorum, the body is unable to act on any complaints filed.
The DNC says it hoped the lawsuit will compel the FEC to take action, but in the likely event the commission continues to lack a quorum, it will seek to sue McCain’s campaign directly.
The lawsuit comes just days after McCain criticized Sen. Barack Obama for appearing to back away from his initial indication he would accept public matching funds for his general election campaign. McCain himself has left the option open of accepting matching funds this fall. Watch more on where the candidates are getting their money »
“He committed to it,” McCain told reporters on Friday. “So in direct contradiction to his rhetoric, he’s now saying well he may not do it. So facts are facts. Facts are stubborn things.
“I repeat my commitment to public financing if he will, and I call on him to keep his commitment that he made a year ago, and not flip-flop.
Obama has raised more than $230 million from about 1.3 million donors on the Internet since his campaign began last year.
McCain has raised approximately $80 million in the same period.
Should Obama and McCain accept public financing, they would be granted $84 million by the federal government and would be unable to spend any more. E-mail to a friend

Michelle Obama actually said Barack will make us informed and involved and that basically we aren’t already. If that isn’t elitist I don’t know what is. If this goes to the convention we are going to have to nominate Al Gore. Which would be fine with me. Barack is simply unelectable if you look at the electoral college which skews conservative. Hillary may be electable…but as Rachel Maddow said last week….looks like it will probably be McCain.

rs just posted…um..misstatements? Lies
rs said “Obama supports Jimmy Carters meeting with Hamas, even though members of Congress and the State Department are speaking out against Carter meeting with Hamas leader”
No rs, google is your friend even if the facts disappoint you. He put out this statement immediately on the announcement of Carter’s plans:
“Senator Obama does not agree with President Carter’s decision to go forward with this meeting because he does not support negotiations with Hamas until they renounce terrorism, recognize Israel’s right to exist, and abide by past agreements,”
rs said “Obama was at a secret San Francisco fund raiser at the home of highly devout Sunni Muslim”
Well first the fundraiser wasn’t secret. After campaigning in Oregon he did go to Southern California and there were several small fund-raisers at peoples homes. They weren’t publicized in the newspaper if that is what secret means but supporters in the area knew, whole neighborhoods were outside to greet him, the block was taped off by the police, that isn’t too secret.
People who went have written about all of them. At the one you posted about the daddy of a happy 4 year old posted her picture when Obama had picked her up to talk to her, She still tells her dad it was the best day of her life and they were just at Disney world-she liked this better. They were white, is that better?
What the heck, I just noticed the “manchurian candidate” part of the rs post. What strange crap people post, really.

I agree with Reverend Wright. Is Hillary smart enough to where she could have grown up a black person and be in the position Barack is in? Obviously, the answer is no. This is why it is so amusing/infuriating to hear Hillary supporters comment on Barack as if he isn’t that bright, when compared to Barack, Hillary was born with a silver spoon, and it is Hillary that can’t even get a hold of her own broke campaign.

Do you know why Obama is in such a good position in this eletion till now?
#1, Hillary’s campaign made huge mistakes, they thought no one could beat her, they didn’t try hard in the early stage of the primary, and they only care about big states, so they gave Obama FREE RIDE in many states.
#2, People hate Bush adminastraion, so they want Democratic to win, they especially like Bill Clinton’s policy, so Obama copied Clinton’s policies, but tried very hard to bring out people’s hatred against Bill Clinton, so some voters diserted Hillary and voted for him.
There might be other reasons, but none of them are because this Obama is really a talented leader and he can really be a better president than all the president in the past. NO, Obama is nothing except for his luck. He’ll be the worst if he wins.

Not to mention the 100 million in income that the Clintons have amassed easily surpasses what Obama and makes her comments even more disingenuous.
Can we stop with the ridiculous name calling and get back to the issues and showing just how dangerous it would be to this country to experience a third Bush term with John McWar.

Wow!! You’ve come a long way baby.Only in America could a black man decended from mixed parentage come from nowhere to be labeled “elitest” by a pair of multi-millionaires who claim that they are in touch with the common man.Only in America can a black man with a name graced to him by his father long before “Osama” became a terrorist reply with such grace to an obvious slight, and still not be given credit .What a country!!!

Vote McCain, feel the pain and don’t complain..because if you do complain you’ll be called unpatriotic..so Americans please vote McCain, feel the pain and don’t complain.

Posted by: Earl | April 15, 2008, 1:25 am 1:25 am

I am one American who don’t vote..I just sit back and watch how stupid my fellow americans are. check this out! The economy is in the dumps, thousands have lost their jobs, thousands have lost their homes, we owe china and japan trillions of dollars, we spend billions of dollars each week to keep troops in Iraq, the country is going into a recession and still the republicans have been able to convince most americans that the economy is good, Iraq was responsible for 911 and if you do you not put your hand over your chest or wear a flag lapel on your chest during the playing/singing of the national anthem then you are not patriotic. I give the republic points for understanding the stupidity of the people and working on it..So get ready for McCain, feel the pain and don’t complain..because its gonna be if not worse, much of the same, its just an old game..what a shame! You have no right to complain or be bitter because that means you’re unpatriotic..while the politicians with their big paycheck is living it up..wake up America!

i believe many american are good smart people. BUT MANY WORKING CLASS PEOPLE ARE SO NAIVE TO VOTE FOR HILARY WITH ALL THE ACADEMY AWARD PERFORMANCES.
SHE LIES ABOUT BOSNIA AND GETS AWAY WITH A “MISPOKE” EXCUSE AND HER HUSBAND REPEATS IT. SHE LIED TO ALL OF AMERICAN ABOUT IT!! WHY ARE YOU SMART WORKING CLASS PEOPLE NOT UP IN ARMS ABOUT THAT? OBAMA TRYS TO EXPLAIN YOUR FRUSTRATIONS AND YOU POUNCE ON HIM?
NO WONDER AMERICA IS GOING DOWN, AND WILL KEEP GOING DOWN. YOU ARE EASILY FOOLED BY POLITICIANS LIKE HILARY.
she is a rich lying selfish women who does not give a damn about working class people except to get their vote SO THEY CAN MAKE ANOTHER 109 MILLION!!!
HOW COULD A MAN WHO IS A MINORITY, GREW UP WITH A SINGLE MOM IN A POOR HOME BE ELITIST? ITS AMAZING HOW AMERICANS ALLOW HILARY TO INSULT THEIR INTELLIGENCE. HILARY NEVER WOULD TRY THAT NONSENSE UNLESS SHE THOUGHT AMERICAN ARE SO IGNORANT WITH A VERY SHORT MEMORY (CLINTON NAFTA, COLUMBIA, BOSNIA, IMPEACHMEN AND ON AND ON….)
CAN YOU FOR ONCE WAKE UP AND SEE A MAN LIKE OBAMA COMES AROUND ONCE EVERY 40 YEARS? YOU WANT YOUR PROBLEMS SOLVED, THEN GIVE THE MAN A CHANCE, HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. OR ELSE YOU CAN VOTE FOR HILARY AND HER CLOSED DOOR BACKROOM DEALS, WHILE SHOWING A DIFFERENT FACE IN PUBLIC.
THIS IS A turning point in american history since the economy is breaking and so is the banks!!! if we dont turn around now, IT WILL BE TOO LATE FOR AMERICA, TOO LATE.
SAVE THIS COUNTRY NOW IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN!!!
MCCAIN=4 MORE YEARS OF GEORG BUSH
HILARY=4 MORE YEARS OF POLITICS AS USUAL, INCLUDING LYING AND SPECIAL INTERESTS.

Patriotism is taking care of your people..the greatest love one can show for one’s country is the caring and sharing for your fellow country men/women..Patriotism is taking care of the veterans when they come home after fighting in a war that should not have been..Patriotism is responding quickly to help your fellow citizens in time of natural disaster regardless of race(katrina). Patriotism is caring for those who need help and helping them(health care)..In this country? Its not okay..the irony is millions in this country characterize themselves as christians(followers of Jesus) but don’t care about the dispossessed, poor and needy. None of those so called christian belt organizations/churches said a word when the people were left to suffer during Katrina..I wonder if the heaven they talk about is going to be devided between a side for black people and a side for white people..Aren’t christians suppose to love each other and care for each other. This is the America we live in..no wonder we are going down and spiralling into despair..while the politicians play games with us by using the devide and rule system..Wake up America…I love my country but lets face the truth and go forward with truth as the basis..Don’t let race and political party interfere with our ability to focus on what is important. GOD BLESS AMERICA! I beg him everyday to do that for us..we need it. Peace and love!

Earl & pet: WoW… at least this blog is beginning to offer some substance on the issues; along with open minded, but yet realistic, views as opposed to constant distortions filled with deception no matter what the topic.
It would be great if we had more refreshing views/outlooks such as yours!

All politicians are the same..they are politicians so they play the game. Do you guys really believe that Obama, Hillary and McCain are different in their basic approach to politics..you got to be dreaming..there have been enough evidences to show people that Obama,Hillary and McCain are one and the same basically..They are posturing for a position that would make them more money for themselves and their families..do you really believe these guys care about the average american? Wake up and smell the coffee. All three of them lie and characterize their lies as mispeaking..they are not honest..none of them..So choose one and just vote for the one that is the more impressive liar and manipulator because that is what it boils down too. Good luck to you happy voters..have fun! But know that things will be the same or worse come 2009 and beyond..I was an obama supporter until the pastor Wright debacle and I realized that he kept his children there to listen to that filth(some of what he said is the truth but a church is not the forum for that..not with that kind of venom). I am black but I realize that Obama is just another politician playing games with people..he is just as good a manipulator as Hillary and McCain. They are all the same! America. We just have to choose the lesser of the three evils..its your choice..go for it but don’t complain when things go bad in 2009 and beyond because then you would not be patriotic.

Eric: Unfortunately,I think there are many who find it much more rewarding to talk about topics such as Obama, and his so-called Elitism or Obama’s word choice- bitter.
The real issues Iraq, Iran, gas prices, home foreclosures, economy, college tuition, global warming, social security, rising food costs, home heating costs, healthcare, etc.
But once again, there are so many shallow fools out there that just pounce on the “elitism” of a candidate- which is very much a false stereotype of Obama mind you.
I mean, can’t they just look around at their surroundings and notice that there are some real problems/issues surrounding them? Or is it just me? Am I not seeing the light?
Ok… Lights out!!
GOD BLESS!

America is based upon lies. AS an outsider looking in If you don’t lie you will never get anywhere. So when others tell the truth they get crucified .Also we rediculed others who dont think like us. God forbid when one is intellect thats a crime. If you are offered coffee and you say no thank you, i’ll have OJ instead thats considered a bad thing. Not to mention the media they twist people’s word create chaos, and start problems, Sick society, Not all but who the cap fit can wear it.

………..pet, give Obama a chance? Have you been to the “Southside” of Chicago lately. Poverty, despair, crime, and HOPElessness.
Obama talks a good talk………but when you look at his “walk” it’s simply not there.
The “southside” of Chicago is STILL the badest part of town.
I vote on “past performance” (walk) not on talk.

“Agitated”? I saw the video and I would not describe Obama’s demeanor as “agitated.” He appeared to frown for a split second, paused, and then said, “That’s Osama.” He then offered a clever retort. I think that is called “grace under pressure” rather than “agitation.”

Posted by: Tessmarie | April 15, 2008, 8:52 am 8:52 am

First of all, people faint at Obama rallies because so many people want to hear him. It is so hard to get into his events that people often stand in line hours just to see him. I don’t see how anybody that once had to eat off food stamps is wealthy born. You must be confusing Hillary with Obama.

Posted by: MM | April 15, 2008, 9:11 am 9:11 am

Huffington Post did the Ap chief mis spoke? yes! could Sen. Obama use another word other than bitter to describe the fustrations of the White working class in Penn.? Yes! But Hillary Clinton Lied she made up a story and used it over and over again until she was caught, the press have not call her out on this fairytale story about snipper fire the way you’re blanketing the coverage over this bitter statement, Sen. Obama did not go around the country lying over and over again. Sen. Clinton did, can we say DOUBLE STANDERED??

Posted by: janet | April 15, 2008, 9:11 am 9:11 am

I notice this problem more with Hillary supporters. They seem to project Hillary flaws on Obama. They accuse Obama of being false, of being a liar, and saying anything to win. When Hillary was proven done both. Now they project elitism on Obama a critique so ridiculously ludicrous you have to wonder rather or not these so called Hillary supporters are not just republicans in described or worst this is what Hillary is all about. The Politics of Distortion.

Posted by: MM | April 15, 2008, 9:19 am 9:19 am

MM, I have to agree with you. Clinton supporters are astonishing me with their accusations. All of which directly apply in more ways than a few to Hillary Clinton! I just can not understand it for the life of me.
They accuse Obama of being a liar, when Hillary has been caught up in so many lies , it’s not even funny anymore!
They accuse Obama of being an Elitist, when the only time during this entire campaign that Hillary really tried connecting with the every day people was this past weekend when she paraded around with them for the tv cameras while trashing Obama, not talking about bringing jobs to their area, lowering gas prices, improving education, in other words the real issues concerning the people she was pandering to. Hillary only cares about working class people when it is beneficial to her.
They accuse Obama of being unelectable, when the truth of the matter is, Hillary doesn’t stand a chance against McCain! The Republican Machine is going to air every dirty little secret and scandal in the Clinton camp and by the time they’re done with her, it’d be a miracle if she could get herself elected, dog catcher!
It’s a shame but what’s worse it the state this country will be in, in 4 years, if we allow Hillary to continue wasting our time!

I think hilliary should just drop out. Let the second coming take the nomination. That will ensure another 4 years of neocon rule under Mcshame. Higher gas prices, higher food prices, no health care for our families, and most likely 4000 more dead heros. The day that osama, I mean obama get the nomination, the repub. hit machine will fire up. Hannity and Rush are foaming at the mouth to get the rev. wright story and the limo sex\drug story out. the swiftboat adds will look like sugar on toast compared to the shalacking they will put on barry. I can only hope that our great nation can withstand 4 more years of repub. rule. Maybe then, Hilliary will run again and bail our nation out like bill did after bush1. That is if they are willing to forgive the backstabbing from the likes of Bill (judas) Richardson and the like. The 90′s werent that long ago, and we dems. have no loyality, or code. Things were good under Bill, most dems. have apparently forgotton that. Shame on us. Remember, Dubya was called a uniter and a change agent. Turned out, he was a double agent instead.

I didn’t draw the same conclusion as many did on the “bitter” statement. The real issue is “what do voters really vote on”. I think he was saying since our politicians do not react to economic trials for the less fortunate Americans, voting on economic reasons are not important to the middle class. So we choose those things we feel we can make a difference in. Examples include religion, abortion, gay rights, rights to bear arms, etc. It appears these are the only issues the government will listen to. We really do have a big problem with the way our government do business and Senator Obama wants to change that.

Do you really want more war, or do you
think that it is not enough 2 million
irakes had died and many american soldiers to fill up the pocket of the leaders.
please be careful for whom you vote.
