Many black people are voting for Sen. Obama only because he's black, and some of them will support Pastor Wright no matter what he says, because they are hesitant to back away from supporting Sen. Obama. White for white vote for Hillary as well, but my feeling, not supported by any data, is that black people are using this ballot racism/retribution more than the whites are.
There is no black America, there is no white America - there is only America, one America.
Sen. Obama spoke on Meet the Press and said some more of his illogical, rhetorical play on words (me talk prettier than you) again by saying "I had a white Mother...it's in my DNA to bring the country together".
What nonsense.
If a Trinity member cannot see the racism in Pastor Wright's words, and conduct, at the NAACP and Press Corps., than they are not facing the man as he presented himself to the world.
The black people I have heard from have said that Rev. Wright is dismantling the progress we have all worked so hard to create (70+ years), that it could evaporate. A person close to both Wright and Sen. Obama comment that Rev. Wright is a "very sensitive man", thin skinned, so this lashing out at the NAACP and Press Corps., really just appears to be a wounded ego, bruised pride thing.
It's impossible for someone to watch Rev. Wright at both events and not form a personal opinion of his character.
It doesn't matter what Rev. Wright has done last week, month or year, or if he saved millions of lepers. What matters is what he said and did the past 7-14 days.
Obama is not to be trusted. No one talks about the cigarettes he throws out the car window, because he's an addicted smoker, those years in Chicago, and no one has done coverage (especially ABC News) on Alice Palmer and the very dirty tactics Sen. Obama used (a voting ballot with only his name on it) to betray the people to get elected. If anyone cares about what happened in Florida and Bush, read up on Alice Palmer. These 2 stories give faint glimses into the real character of Sen. Obama.

For all that Reverend Wright has said, no one has yet to disprove his claims or discredit his sources.
While it is unfortunate that Senator Obama's campaign may be hurt by this, I think Rev. Wright has raised the bar on the topic of race relations and how just raising the issue damages black AMERICA

Obama is not qualified for President because he lacks experience, he's over confident and out of touch, detached even. He is over reliant on his advisors and others who invested in his success to benefit theirs. His weaknesses in fighting for himself have showed (the recent Debate with Hillary), his dishonesty with Trinity Church has showed (Wright, Trinity website, black theology), his distracting preoccupation with race (Wife's thesis, Chicago politics) has showed, and his dirty tactics to betray the people he claims to represent "change" to has showed (Alice Palmer, 1996, Chicago).

If the best the republican pundits has got for dirt on Obama is Wright then that just shows how desperate they are. I have even gotten republican newsletters saying “should the right sit this one out” if they had something, you better believe they would be spinning it so much we would have forgotten about Wright. Wright is not WRONG or wrong for Obama but an easy target to promote hate mongering and the pundits are going to live to see the errors of their ridiculous accusations because truth stands up for itself. . . it doesn’t need any help from the Republicans or Democrats. Most people with an IQ higher than 80 can recognize the hype. Wright is a man to be respected and admired and have led many to the Lord not to hate or bigotry. The only thing Wright is guilty of is name calling and believe me we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Lest Obama is the second coming of the Lord he knew what he was getting into and I hope for his sake he knows that if the two are in a room in agreement for the Lord they should continue to pray together for each other and do the work they know best. Obama politics and Wright should keep on running for the Lord before he does get tired and bring as many people as he can for God. Remember this is the main reason our forefathers put separation of state and church in the Constitution. I will never be ashamed of Rev Wrights work as a pastor or Obama’s gift for bringing people together to talk about complex problems, his appeal cannot be taught as there are many others with qualifications that rival his but no one can put a price on popular appeal. Obama’s a praying man and instead of applauding him for it he is getting crucified for it, but for believers in Christ like me that is the same thing that happened to Christ and we are all the better for it. This race is far from over and Rev Wright had every right to defend his beliefs and reputation. If it was so dastardly and bombastic you would not get 1000s of well educated African American and races of all kinds to attend the church. It continues to be a beacon of inspiration for many and will be so far into the future long after Barack has taken office and leaves office. It is not a bunch of zombie like members like the Polygamist cult and the people that attend can think for themselves and considering the vast numbers of African American churches to choose from people are choosing Trinity United Church of Christ by the droves. Rev Wright has nothing to be ashamed of nor Obama. Finding God there is a GOOD thing. That is what faith is all about and keeping it when the going gets rough. Wright taught me that. I have the audacity to believe that Obama can do it . . . Obama taught me that!

Wright is an opportunist. Now he has a book on the way!
He looked the fool at the press corps event, playing to the crowd, shamelessly enjoying every second.
He behaved like a court jester.
Who is behind this man? It's a question that pops into my head when I see his next stunt; and his next. Have Hillary's people gotten to him...or McCain's?
Or is he so egocentric that he can not resist his 15 minutes of fame?
And the content of his message is shocking!
It's playing out as an American tragedy because once again, so much is at stake.
I think Obama could make a difference around the world on behalf of all U.S. citizens if given the chance.
I do not understand the lust for blood in this land. Hillary is a warrior as is McCain who rarely is seen without a decades old photo of himself clearly visable behind him.
More's the pity.

Confused,
I agree with you that Wright is not racist. But I do think he's prejudice. There is a huge difference between the two, and Wright would be more inclined to take the side of a black man over a white man no matter who is actually right. And from the manner of his speech and text, it's quite obvious that Wright is prejudice.
Wrightstinks,
You can't use Wikipedia as a source. So many bloggers do it and I don't know why. There are sooo many other sources that are far more credible and can be used in a college thesus or research paper. Here are one;
Its an encyclopedia. It used to be the main source of quick information, it came in a group of books that were all alphabetical and had numerous subjects that were bridged by real scientists and not your average joe shmoe web blogger.

Wright spews racial hatred and then accuses people of being racist and taking him out of context when they call him on it.
Have you noticed Barak Obama isn't giving a speech about not disowning him anymore. Instead he's hiding from the guy hoping he'll go away.
He'll never get elected. The problem is Barak listened to the guy for more than 20 years. He can't claim he didn't know. There's an old saying. "You are like those you associate with" He associated with Wright for 20 years.
Don't try to say "He was just one among 8000 members of the church" Barak is well educated and should have known to stay away from people like this.

Rightsux you went to wikipedia of all sources, you cant write an academic paper and use that as a source, so come again. So, i would be racist to say black people are more likely to have sickle cell anemia while white people are more likley to get Paget's disease
