The Key Keystone State

Greetings from the City of Brotherly Love, located in the key Keystone state. A win for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, here tomorrow could end this race. But Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, has consistently led in the polls here.

A big question being debated — how big does her win need to be?

Filmmaker Rob Reiner told voters in Sunday that the "W" needs to be sizable.

"Not to put any pressure on you folks, but this is it, this is it," Reiner said. "We’re gonna we win, no doubt about it, but we gotta win big. If we win big, we’re going to wind up with more votes than Barack Obama. It’s gonna be a very big decision for the superdelegates."

The latest Quinnipiac poll has the race fairly static, Clinton leads Obama 51% to 44%.

Other key findings — women are backing Clinton 57-38….men are backing Obama 53-42….White Catholics are for Clinton 66-29….Voters over 45 back Clinton 54-40…Under 45 go for Obama 57-41.

"Pennsylvania voters apparently made up their minds a couple of weeks ago and nothing has happened since to change them," said Clay F. Richards, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. "An extraordinary turnout effort by Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign could snatch this victory from Sen. Hillary Clinton, but that does not appear likely. Sen. Obama got off message after his ‘bitter’ remarks and never regained his momentum, giving Sen. Clinton the opening to fight another day in Indiana and North Carolina."

You can read our report from GMA this a.m. HERE and watch it HERE.

UPDATE: The source of the Reiner quote, NPR, originally reported that the comment was by Gov. Ed Rendell, not Rob Reiner. It was Reiner.

She needs to win by at least 15%, but I’m sure after its over and they win by 4%-7%, she’ll convince the media that she’s made a “comeback”… they have yet, to resist any moving of the goalposts and I don’t expect them to any time soon. This race will go on as long as the media keeps advertising it as a close race.

Se. Clintnon should have many more days to fight, she is the only one of the three candidates who has the right plan for putting our country back on track.
The “baggage” she carries will not change the fact of her being able to do
as President for the american people
what she said she would do.
I have not doubt, her first 100day will
be great for all of us.
I look forward to having that horrible
veil lifted from our country-that seems to have been spreading all over the world.
you know wwwwwho, came into office wrong
and it was bad for us from the start.
when he gets on that plane and turns and waves goodbye-we will all cheer for him. And I truly believe-HE will be glad to go.
she will set things right. She has the right plan.

she’ll win by 9. too much dirt (commercials don’t change that)and old school politics and favors thrown in the eyes of the PA voters to make a clear choice…
Hope Rendell is proud of himself…I honestly don’t think he is.
When he believes in what he is saying rather than when he is fulfilling a favor …he has a totally different tone than he has had.
He’s being a good soldier for the Clintons… I feel bad for him.

I am a PA voter and will go to the polls tomorrow and vote for Hillary. I am a 44 year old white guy and I do not appreciate some of Mr. Obama’s statements latley. I am also very sceptical of his chances in the fall after seeing him handle the past week. If he wins the Dem nomination I quess I will have to vote for him , but I will not be happy about my vote.

and jgaw
the world is holding it’s breath for one candidate
and only one candidate will have people in cities all over the world celebrating
It’s not Hillary or McCain …and everyone knows it.

jgaw,
i think your putting alot of stock into a family that has proven that they dont always follow what they say!
her baggage is behind her , thats her experience! her messing up health care reform not being able to make jobs for chicago, crimes, and how is the fact that bill being in the white house yet again going to help the columbia trade? and the fact is alot more is going to come out from republicans mouths .

thanks dl,
I’ll keep to the high road today.
I have no reason to use this space to tear anyone down today.
If obama is you man-wonderful for you.
the world holding its breath statement is one Sen. Clinton said. I didn’t make it up.

she can say screw em about small town people but he said that people in small towns are bitter and people are throwing a fit? wow

Posted by: melissa | April 21, 2008, 8:38 am 8:38 am

I think that Hillary needs to win >15% to really call it a win since she has the entire Pennsylvania machine behind her except Bob Casey and she was up by 20% to begin with it.
Should be an interesting outcome.

I have no doubt a HRC as POTUS will be good for me and my family-we are 16-54
and everyone has been assigned (from the beginning) a section on each candidate-one tracking healthcare plans
of all three-one tracking education plans-and so forth. my husband an undecided at first-after we turned off the tv and stopped listening to the talking heads-we did it the old fashioned way-and just presented plans
and Sen. Clinton came out on top.
when you remove all the “fluff and dirt”
and just look at what can (and I believe) be done-she is the one.
and as for me and my household and friends-we do not even look at the fact of her being the first woman-and the history she will make. (or obama and the hx he will make being a person of color)(If I judged from that point of view-the focus is all about the candidate)
But I will be selfish here-all I care about with this is “What are you going to do for me and mine?”
and for us-Sen. Clinton has the right answer.
and we really would like for it to be

Money recieved from registered lobbyists in 2007:
Hillary Clinton: $823,087
John McCain: $416,321
Barack Obama: $0
Number of Registered lobbyists working for campaigns:
Hillary Clinton: 11
John McCain: 26
Barack Obama: 0
Which candidate can we trust to not be influenced by special interest money?
To vote for Clinton or McCain is to vote away your interest (unless you are a shareholder of pharmaceutical, war supply, or oil industry stock)

The Clinton’s are elitist – They have made a fortune off of other elitist members of society – both a home and overseas.
I’m a 60 year-old female ex-Clinton supporter. I have come to understand and accept the fact that the Clinton’s will do anything and say anything to get back into the Whitehouse.
I do not agree with the way in which they have conducted themselves on issues, and I feel both are extremely dishonest. I do not like the fact that they are been repeatedly involved in illegal campaign contributions, and their connection with business associates and leaders from the Middle East, China, Canada, and South America. I don’t like the fact that while Hillary Clinton was visiting New Delhi, she made a speech where she stated, “There is no way you can legislate against reality. Outsourcing will continue…we are not against outsourcing, we are not in favor of putting up fences.” I don’t like the fact she has lied about her support of Outsourcing and NAFTA. But most of all, I don’t like the fact she and Bill were able to look people in the eye and lie about her trip to Bosnia, and her role in Ireland. I don’t like the fact she recalled fond memories of her grandfather teaching her how to use a gun, and telling people how she understood their love for God and Gun, and forgot to tell them how she has co-sponsored bills to ban gun shows and other Anti-gun bills. She has promised to deliver jobs to people…she made the same promise to New York while running for the Senate, yet jobs have been lost in New York, and she did little to help people out of work by bring more jobs into the state she represents. Why are they so desperate to get back into the Whitehouse? What favors have their promised to the Clinton Foundation donors from around the world? I guess I’m one of those bitter Americans wondering where I’m going to get money to pay for food and gas. Wondering if my son’s jobs will be lost to India, or China. I’m weary of politicians what will tell you anything to get a vote, but forget to represent you once they are in Washington.

She backed away from the child care bill that the children’s defense fund was told she would fight for because she said it would “never fly” even after the group pointed out they were only asking for a increase of 2 out of 7 children to be covered from the 1 in 7 that were being covered.
The leader then responded “ we want you to spend your capital whether you win or not that’s how you’ll get this into the public arena so people can understand there is a problem. If this was Ted Kennedy he’d stand on what he believes”

Oh, I forgot, we can’t ask Clinton questions or else she’ll cry and Bill will snap.

she introduced one bill that offered tax credits for building owners who clean up lead paint. (Which is a very good thing. And Obama is a co-sponsor.) to provide a tax credit for property owners who remove lead-based paint hazards.”
Obama’s anti-lead bill directed the Consumer Product Safety Commission to classify certain children’s products containing lead as banned hazardous substances. He had another bill prohibitting the interstate transport of children’s products containing lead. (And Hillary co-sponsored each of these.)

Just because Hillary is there in washington for 10-15 yrs does not mean that she has more experience to run presidency. A good persident needs good judgement, a personality to attract people with opposite views. Obama has all of these qualities. He is the agent of change of washington politics.

After Obama’s Jay Z “brush off dance” and giving Hillary the finger, even my teenagers said that Obama was a joke – how would the President of Iran ever respect the guy after he behaved like that? Obama has acted like a juvenile cry baby all week, whining and complaining about being asked relatively easy questions at the debate, but they were way too tough for cry baby Obama to even answer. If Obama cannot handle George S. and Charlie G., how is he going to lead the United States in dealing with other countries? Obama represents the Radical, Extreme Left Liberal Wing Crazies and we do not need them in the White House. If the votes of MI and Fl are not counted, then Obama is stealing this election anyway!!! And some of his supporters threaten to riot if he doesn’t get the nomination. America does not give in to terrorist demands!!! Americans should not be threatened and coerced into voting for a candidate!!! Obama’s ties to Rezko, Auchi, Amsallaere, Wright, Farrakhan, Ayers, Khalidi, Said, Hamas and his pro-Palestinian stance are all up for questioning? Plus Obama has dual citizenship with Kenya? We need an American president who does not hold contempt for patriotism and Americans.

If how the various campaigns have been run is any indication of how they candidates will run the country, Obama is the clear choice.
Clinton and McCain have both borrowed money and been broke at points, leaving a string of unpaid vendors behind them. Senator Obama has run a campaign unmatched in modern history.
My vote is for Senator Obama, the next president of the United States.

Democrats, while you’re out there fighting over Clinton and Obama, Senator John McCain is gaining respect due to the fact that he’s focusing on issues, and solutions to issues facing American.
According to Senator Hillary Clinton, their dirty laundry will look better hanging outside on the Whitehouse clothesline!
McCain
1. Keating Five in late 80’s and early 90’s, after a lengthy investigation, it was decided McCain had only been minimally involved in the sandal.
2.Cindy McCain stole drugs from her own nonprofit medical relief organization due to her addiction to prescription drugs.
3.Endorsement from racial, hard-line conservative Pastor John Hagee
4.John McCain has forgotten about sending regards and regrets in 1995 for not being able to attend the birthday party for then 90 year-old Joe Bananas, retired head to the NY Bonano crime family.
5.McCain has not condemned Rep. Geoff Davis for using harsh words “that boy” (Obama) and referring to Senator Obama as being a snake oil salesman. Most educated Americans have moved beyond the 60’s and 70’s, a time when white elitist within our society used and condoned derogatory and inflammatory slang words to describe African Americans.
6.McCain has not condemned supporter Senator Tom Coburn who supports the death penalty for abortion providers.
7.McCain did not break away from Rep. Rick Renzi, a member of his National Leadership Team and co-chairman of his Arizona Leadership Team. He described Renzi as a man with tenacity, honesty and integrity beyond reproach. Renzi was later indicted for money laundering, extortion and wire fraud, in addition to numerous other charges related to an Arizona Land Deal.
8.The Keating 5 sandal is most likely the most famous sandal involving McCain. McCain’s wife and father-in-law invested $359,100.00 in the project.
9.McCain will have to explain his support of lobbyist, and why he has so many on his staff.
10. Then there’s the temper issue. He has always been referred to as a bully from the time he was in school, college and as a Senator. He has always aggressively bullied those who oppose him.
Obama
1.The racial, hard-line liberal Pastor Wright controversy.
2.Not wearing an American flag lapel pin. Look at Clinton’s, McCain, Bush’s, senators, representatives, etc. next time to see if they wear one at every event, and every public speech event.
3.Not putting his hand over his heart during the singing of the National Anthem. How will conservative Republicans explain why President Bush put his hand on his mid-section while the National Anthem was being played? True, Bush is not the smartest guy in the world, and maybe didn’t know where his heart was located.
4.He attended a campaign event at the home of William Ayer’s in 1995. Ayer’s is now a respectable, and noted education specialist at the University of Illinois, and works with Major Daley on educational reform.
5.Rezko and his association with Obama.
Hillary and Bill Clinton
1.Outsourcing of jobs to India and China. Hillary Clinton’s “opp” moment in 2006 at a fund-raiser hosted by a top Indian American supporter when she said, “I can certainly run for the Senate seat in Punjab and win easily.” Punjab is a region in India. Hillary Clinton statement while speaking to an audience of business leaders during her visit to New Delhi, “There is no way to legislate against reality. Outsourcing will continue.” The Clinton’s will have to explain and disclose their business relationships with India’s businesses and business leaders.
2.Unanswered questions about her spouse’s (Bill Clinton) work to promote the Colombia Free Trade deal. Hillary’s answer so far, “Laughter…How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?”
3.1995 documented statement made to her spouse concerning working class white southerners, “Screw ‘em, you don’t owe them a thing Bill. They’re doing nothing for you’ you don’t have to do anything for them.”
4.Immigration, March 2006, Hillary Clinton: GOP Immigration Bill Would Criminalize Jesus. She was quoted as saying, “legislation would literally criminalize…probably even Jesus himself. Bill Clinton: Immigration crackdown Hurting US (2005) He argued that tighter immigration laws would only hurt America, saying, “New restrictions aren’t worth it even if they stop the “one out of a zillion (foreigners) who might have a bomb.”
5.Hillary’s statements about Bosnia and Ireland. Can she think of a better response then what she and Bill have offered to the public?
6.Clinton NAFTA-gate. The wink-wink in Canada actually came from the Clinton campaign, not Obama’s. Bill Clinton helped a Canadian mining magnate win lucrative uranium contract from Kazakhstan’s state-owned nuclear holding company Kazatomprom. It subsequently donated $31 million to the William J. Clinton Foundation. What other interest will the Republicans find?
7.Questionable and illegal campaign contributions. Norman Hsu, $1,100.00 to Hillary Clinton. He ran a pyramid scheme that defrauded investors of about $20 million. Marc Rich raised $70,000 for Hillary and $450,000 for the Clinton Library. Rich fled to Switzerland to avoid racketeering and illegal trading. Bill Clinton pardoned Rich during his last days in Washington. Others: Aaron Tonken, Peter F. Paul, John Huang, James Riady, Johnny Chung, Roger Tamraz, John K. H. Lee, Abdul Jinnah, etc.
8.Then there’s Whitewater, Travelgate, Filegate, Castle Grande-gate, Troopergate, etc.
And the big question…the donors of the Clinton Foundation! What do they owe those who have given large amounts of money to the Clinton’s Foundation!
WHO HAS A BETTER CHANCE AGAINST MCCAIN?

Posted by: DeefromTexas | April 21, 2008, 9:27 am 9:27 am

no one is talking about mccain because no one thinks he is going to win against the democrats.

Posted by: melissa | April 21, 2008, 9:29 am 9:29 am

Yeah Obama giving Hillary the finger during his speech with al lthe other hip hop gestures, three times, was very Presidential wasn’t it?
Three times in three different speeches he brings his middle finger to his face while criticising Hillary and the crowd reacts but no one in the MSM covers it.
He’s just scratching his face with his middle finger, at the exact same time in three speeches.
Obama isn’t fit to be President of the eight grade. The 13 year olds would have tougher questions for him in debates.

I hope Hillary wins by enough with the insane Dem delegate apportionment scheme that she gains some significant delegates over Obama out of the 185.
Would have been over a long time ago if winner takes all like the Electoral College this fall in the GE. Hillary wins the blue and swing states, and Hillary has what it takes to get the key Electoral College delegates against the Republicans.

By the numbers — a wolly unbiased perspective. I know all the Clinton supportrs are trying to dial back expectations since the PA race has tightened, but the truth is, anything less than a 20-point victory is a loss.
Here’s why:
1. Even the staunchest Clinton Supers, including NJ Gov. Jon Corzine and Rep. Murtha, unequivocally have said that Clinton at least needs to have the popular vote in order to lend any legitimacy to her contention that she get the nomination. Since Obama leads by 700,000 votes and PA is the last big state in play, this is where she needs to dramatically close this gap. Even with a huge turn-out of say, 3.5 million Democratic voters (more than 1/2 million more than voted in 2004′s general election, and therefore, unlikely), a five point difference would yield Clinton +175,000 in the popular vote. A 10-point difference? +350,000. 20-points would make Clinton and Obama nearly even. This 20 point differential is significant because Obama leads Clinton by +5 in Indiana and by close to +19 in North Carolina. If Clinton is going to stop the bleeding, it has to happen here. As well, the assumption that 3.5 million voters will cast their ballots on Tues. is a best case scenario. It is far more likely that those numbers will be more like 3.1 million (about 200,000 more than voted in the 2004 General Election). If those projections hold true: +5 yields Clinton, 155,000. +10, 310,000. +20, 620,000 (and thereby STILL leaving her 80,000 shy going into Indiana and N. Carolina.) This too is significant because anything less than a 20-point win will not stanch the Obama leads in those two states (whereby, even if Clinton close some of the gap, but not the majority in PA — Obama widens it in the coming May 6 primaries). Anything less than a +10 point win in PA will cause a great many superdelegates to endorse Obama and will make the continued Clinton run, difficult at best. Anything in the 10-15 point range will result in not a tidal wave of superdelegate support going Obama’s way, but a trickle — something Clinton can ill affords given Obama has picked up nearly 77 supers since “Super Tuesday” and Clinton has picked up none. (To clarify, Clinton has picked up some super support, as I am sure her backers will eagerly point out, but those supers have not ADDED to her delegate totals as other previously counted Clinton supers have shifted alliegance and support Obama).
My prediction: Clinton wins PA by +2 and on Wednesday, between 20 and 50 uncommitted superdelegates endorse Obama fot the Democratic Nomination and end Clinton’s run.

Yes, If Clinton wins by less then 10-15 its a win for Obama b/c
1) A win less then 10-15 will likely give her a delegate net gain of maybe 8 or 10
She has make up 160 delegate in the last remaining 9 states
Obama is likely to win North Carolina, Indiana possibly, Oregon, Montana and South Dakota
She’s likely to win PA, Kentucky, West Virginia and Puerto Rico
Everything evens out, so how will she make up 700,000 in popular vote and 160+ pledge delegates?
2) She won’t be able to overtake Obama in the popular vote if she doesn’t win big
She needs 60%+ in all the remaining primaries to reach Obama in the popular
Not likely
3) If she doesn’t have a BIG win, Obama will likely make up the net loss in North Carolina
4) If she doesn’t win big in a state designed for her, SDs will question if she’s lost credibility with her demographics
I believe she’ll win PA by 8 or 9
Not enough.
She won Ohio by 10 and had a delegate net gain of 7 ot 8
Especially in PA the African American counties have more delegates then others

2) he has too many racist ties
3) he is a hypocrite
4) he has lied to the public over and over again (and to ABC during the debate)
5) he is unpatriotic
6) he has ties to terrorist groups
7) he is now using the old kind of politics that he has been speaking out against
8) Obama will never win the general election

Why is this horrible double standard against Hillary Clinton? Sen. Obama has not won a single major battle ground state; and he will lose Pennsylvania too! It is obvious neither of the two candidates are going to be able to win the nomination without the help of super delegates. But why ask Sen. Hillary Clinton to drop out? But no one is asking Sen. Obama to drop out? But I think it would be a mistake to nominate Sen. Obama. In the last analysis I don’t think Sen. Obama can wind against a Republican candidate. The debates showed us that Sen. Clinton has superior intellect and experience. In every one of the debate I notice that Sen. Obama is merely imitating Sen. Clinton. She a born leader─ he’s not; we know so little about him, although he has got lot of help from the media to prop him up. He lacks experience. Media is trying hard to get her negatives up. Those conservative media supports of Sen. Obama like David Brooks, George Will, William Kristol, who praised him all along are now defected to John McCain. I knew this would happen as a part of the Republican strategy to defeat Sen. Hillary Clinton. Many Republics are pretending to be Democrats and voting in the Democratic primaries to defeat Hillary Clinton. They are also helping Sen. Obama financially. Even Rupert Murdoch family is holding a fund raiser in London for Sen. Obama. Yet, I don’t think without the support of women, senior voters, and Latinos Sen. Obama or any other Democratic candidate has ever won a presidential election. To nominate Sen. Barack Obama as the Democratic candidate would be a huge mistake. The best chance of winning the White House for the Democrats is with Sen. Hillary Clinton!

After all the incredible turmoil in the recent weeks, nothing will have changed after the PA primary.
Hillary will win PA as she won Ohio, I expect a 10 points win. I think Obama will have the majority of the white male vote (and doing better than in Ohio), but again women will make the major difference.
After PA, Obama’s lead will only be MORE insurmountable, for the prospect of a HUGE win in PA will have gone. And after PA it will be clear that she even will not be able anymore to catch up in the popular vote.
But she’ll go on and on, using the same arguments, the same fantasies about changing the minds of superdelegates, anyway: all the better for your Political Punch, Jake!

Get real. Everyone in Congress is an elitist. If they aren’t millionaires when they get elected — they sure will be after a year or two in Congress, as businesses fall in line to cut them in on sweet real estate deals, insider trading tips, or book contracts — not to mention high-paying sinecures to their spouses. It’s the best get-rich-quick scheme in America.

In the final analysis the choice for democrats is clear:
Do we choose a young, inexperienced, inmatured, untested, rancorous individual, who has close relationships with individuals who hate America?
or
Do we choose a patriotic, matured, tested, strong individual who loves America and americans of all races?
The recent polls reflect the fact that America is making the reasonable choice: Hillary Clinton

by the numbers, amazing,
a question-why have you spent time doing this calculation?
do you support clinton, mccain, or obama?
—————————————-
and to the people who keep running sen. clinton down-and john mccain down
if obama is your guy fair-dues
but you must realize-he cannot win the white house without the support of the Backers of Sen. Clinton, and at least win over some of mccains supporters
If obama supporters are so sure he is in.
I think this would be a good time for you all to take the high road and tell us in specifics what mr. obama is going to do for the country.
I know he has said he will bring change
i know he has said he will bring hope
I know he has said he will change the way they do business in washington.

Hillary and her supporters have gotten what they wanted those extra chances …every time… to keep on fighting…and what has happened…
all the democratic numbers have gone down and they have now given the republicans more amunition, more sound bites of other dems, more wear on the party and divided the party even more…
…but they got to drag it out and bad mouth there own party…
and it will continue no matter what…
but yeah Clinton has the peoples, party’s and country’s need before her own…
every scandal and loss the Clintons have (go look it up) has to do with these same issues. Win their own positions at all costs… no matter what that does to the policies and rest of the party or the advancement of the American people.
Oh my God …how dare I say that.

They are both liars and it has been proven time and time again.Get her mad and see what happens. Bye Bye suckers is what you will find out she say.How come you never see her in a skirt?Wee Willy is still wearing the pants so she wants to be like him.Elect her and its bye bye low class people and Hello my ELITE friends. Yes it probably will be the same old same old after PA ,unless by the grace of God Obama knocks her out. The tone would definately change then. She would lose one of her arguments about swing state wins. John you left out another thing Obama has against him is the color of his skin, which is probably what a lot of non- minority americans are voting against anyway, why else would anyone want to support HRC.Maybe the fact they would like to see a women president,no matter how poor her character is and how dangerous she would be for this country.
Obama 08!

Polls, schmolls; A win is a win. Not many Clinton supporters are entertaing filling out polls. Why? We’re campaigning! Obama looks stronger than he really is… but, guess what? We like hidden surprises.
I’ve been watching both candidates speaking in PA. Amazing… Obama complained about spending 45 minutes before getting to issues at the last debate??? What does he spend his pandering on at his rallies? Attacking Clinton (making jokes about her), attacking McCain, speaks of what’s wrong with the country, absolutely never presenting solutions for America’s problems.
If it were left up to Obama’s campaign and Obama’s delegates asking Senator Clinton’s to drop out because… PA’s and the last 9 states votes wouldn’t make a difference.
Come on Americans! These delegates-super delegates were voted into their positions, yet their telling us 10 states and our votes are not important. These delegates are maybe the reason our country is in such terrible shape.
So, what are we going to do? Get off our butts, hit the ground running, and vote for Senator Clinton on our primary day. Let’s show delegates, super delegates what We the People are made of!

are you such a Sen. Clinton hater
you would want the dem. process tainted?
if what you say is so-how will obama be able to say he won fair and square.
I really do appeal to you sense of fairness. but cause if you actually do favor it being decided with people being pressured and strong-armed
sen. clinton will not be the only loser here.
and if it happens the way you have just laid it out.
no way will obama win-and no way should he win.
it will end up being just as w started off.
vanessa, for your souls sake-do not wish that our elections end up that way.

Jgaw
He’ll actually talk to people…boy what a concept.
His healthcare plan focuses on cost (which is the bigger and more vast problem right now) and takes into account how all the other plans that the dems have tried to get passed for healthcare have failed because they were HUGE…and even dems didn’t agree with them. He realizes that the costs with healthcare don’t really go down when you implement a massive bureaucracy without addressing issues of billing costs, fraud, and shortages of nurses and family docs…those issues get MORE costly with the plan both Hillary and Edwards looked at. He realizes that people with the biggest problems trying to figure out there healthcare do not understand how a tax break for someone making under 40k will not help them pay the rent when their wages are being garnished from salaries that were already being strained.
What a concept.
I am sure he is not going to make an open promise to ANY and ALL middle eastern countries that we will respond to ANY attack from Iran (or any other country for that matter) …as long as they don’t have nuclear weapons and come under our “protective umbrella” with MASSIVE RETALIATION under the US’s dollar…that is for sure…and put us in a situation where congressional approval doesn’t matter. Talk about fiscal and homeland security suicide.
He is not going to attack losing policy arguments with the same old tactics of slash and burn and intimidation.
He is not going to enter into the position from a position of …you need to fight with the other side. As if the entire other side of the aisle is the enemy instead of just a simply disagreeing part of the same team.
and he is going to, yes, inspire much of the world to believe in America again. That buying American is not a bad thing, that helping us in the war against terrorism and our battles are something they can trust our judgement again on.
These are just a sample of why he is the better candidate for us now.

Calling all Internet Obama supporters- Please do everything you can to get out the Obama vote tomorrow! Show your numbers, your vocal support- bring your signs, be proud, upbeat, and encouraging. Senator Obama needs your support now more than ever. A great turn out for Obama would be wonderful for our country. We are all tired of the negativity that has nearly destroyed the party’s chances to win the White House. Hillary has been dragging our hope-filled candidate down to her gutter level. Our support will lift Obama’s spirits and his confidence in Americans to see through Hillary’s old Washington attack tactics. She has been universally negative throughout the campaign, but has expected him to just shut up and take it. No mas. Let’s get out there tomorrow and make it happen for the good of the country!!

what about the feelings of bigotry and fear. Why won’t anyone say it out loud and in plain language. The rural whites in PA and all around the place the “working class whites” are not voting for Obama because he is black and they would not vote for any candidate who is black whether they had the excuse of Rev. Wright or Ayers. I am tired of this dance.
Clinton’s argument is that a large enough portion of the American White electorate would never vote for a NEGRO and therefore democrats better choose her or lose the election for sure.
This election is in no small part a referendum on whether that statement and sentiment is true and Obama and his people should not have been afraid to challenge the American people directly on this point. If it is true we need to know it and deal with it including trying to correct it and maybe even letting America suffer with Bush and his ilk as the leader such a citizenry deserves.
I mean please just look at tne “latest” PA polls and the so called “undecideds” It is sickening and I hope the whole world watches and sees the hypocrisy of America as it condemns the “ethnic” violence in Iraq or anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard Clinton’s poll number raised after the ABC debate, for the first time after March 18-20.
One time the media was tough on him, or not protecting him, he lost quite some of his shining clothes.
Clear indication how Obama got here.
Some of those Obama people who cried ABC should have focused on “issues” have always been saying so whenever Obama has a negative thing showing up, sounding like we terribly want to go over again the 3% differences between them on policies after 20 debates.

So do not go with the racist crap on us, it is a ploy of Barry’s whole campaign, I know, I lived it in Massachusetts and stupidly voted for Deval and he is a total failure! A win is a win. Spin is spin.
Don’t let the Obamites fool you. This is going all the way to the convention floor. Good government is too important to give up our future to thugs.
People need jobs. The Clintons have made this happen. Her crew is the only crew in the race with a record of making that happen.
Think smart. Hope is a good feeling; a paycheck and a realizable hope is better. The best track record doesn’t always win but it is always the way to bet.

He’s trying to reach 1.5 million donors by May 6

President Bush authorized a war in Iraq and American soldiers died and as voters we, as a nation, elected him, so does that mean that all Americans are also responsible for personally killing US soldiers? By your reasoning, that’s exactly what you’re saying, which I don’t think is what you mean to say at all.

Bishop: You routinely make the least incisive comments on these blogs. As a blind Clinton support I wish you could at least embrace a logic routed in some semblance of reason, rather than adopt the specious arguments that have led your “candidate” to ruin. She is a disaster. Get a grip. Understand that. I don’t want another disaster leading this country. She can’t manage her family. She can’t manage herself. She can’t manage her campaign. But, yeah, for the hell of it, for the novelty of electing a woman, let’s give this liar the chance to further destroy the country. You’re out of your mind. And to the feminists out there who may be outraged by the backlash to Clinton, consider this…as a feminist, I think she is doing (and would continue to do) far greater damage to breaking that “glass ceiling) than if it were done by someone worthy. I don’t want Hillary Clinton to be President because she would — as she has shown in this very campaign — undermine the future feminist cause by being a DISASTER. In subsequent years, people who are somewhat reluctant to voting for a woman, will look back and point to her as a fine example of why not to. In breaking barriers, the ones doing so must have integrity (which she does not). That is why those people are later revered. Clinton is not that woman. Never has been. Never will be.

So then, IF Senator Clinton wins big in Pa she lives to fight on. Perhaps even get the nod from her party and goes on to beat up the old guy and win the general.
Then some crackerjack reporter digs into the vote and finds crossover republicans, trying to nix Senator Obama’s bid, were responsible for her large primary win in Pa. that propels her into the general.
At that point the country unifies and comes together like never before over the definition of the word Irony.

Louis Farrakhan in 1996, the Saviours’ Day Speech:
“And you do with me as is written, but remember that I have warned you that Allah will punish you. You are wicked deceivers of the American people. You have sucked their blood. You are not real Jews, those of you that are not real Jews. You are the synagogue of Satan, and you have wrapped your tentacles around the U.S. government, and you are deceiving and sending this nation to hell. But I warn you in the name of Allah, you would be wise to leave me alone. But if you choose to crucify me, know that Allah will crucify you.”

I’m taking a break calling voters here in Pennsylvania. I’m kind of shy but I feel strongly about Sen. Clinton so I’m making these calls. I’ve spoken to a couple of undecideds, had a couple of angry Obama supporters hang up on me but the real news is how positive Pennsylvanians are for Clinton. If my calls are any indication, she’s going to win big!
My opinion, by the way, is that a “win is a win” – I’ve heard that he is outspending her by as much 4 to 1. That really seems obscene! I have to ask why is he working so hard with such a meager result?

Thanks Cathy, I think it will be a very big win. In fact, I would not be surprised if it is over 10 points.

Please PA…enough Bush/Clinton division and scandal. These families have brought America down morally and financially. Washington needs a makeover and global respect that Obama will bring.

Financial Times endorsed Obama. He has many more donors than Clinton so he is able to spend more on his campaign. Hillary blew her big donor war chest on 5 star hotels and snow shovels in Iowa. She is unable to manage money, her staff or her campaign and expects us to believe she can manage a country? Obama has run a fiscally efficient and inspired campaign. Just like a good government should be run.

If the media would have told the truth months ago, the Senator from Illinois would have been out of the Democratic race months ago.
Just study Obama’s tax plan that will hurt the Middle Class and retirees and you will change your mind. If not open your pockets. Don’t forget the never ending closed doors Obama actions pertaining to NAFTA and pulling out of Iraq. Obama lied and started saying that he had no control of his campaign committee now known as the ‘Obama mafia’. If Obama cannot control his own committee, he will be another Bush. Isn’t 8 years enough?

Hey, Pennsylvania Voters…….if you are still undecided as to whether to vote for Hillary or obama, consider this:
A lot goes into choosing a Nomination Candidate—-”liking the candidate” is ONE THING, but most importantly is whether the Candidate can go up against McCain for the Presidency—-which one of these two Candidates—–Hillary or obama—-can actually FOLLOW-THROUGH with the SOLUTIONS they have laid out for the problems that our country faces because of Bush??
Which candidate has plans and solutions at ALL for America?
It’s CLEARLY HILLARY CLINTON.
Which Candidate can stand the criticizing from the Republicans and still come out stronger—–not whining that “the other side is getting negative”?
It’s CLEARLY HILLARY. Hillary has a BACKBONE, and can dish it out as well as she takes it. obama wilts under pressure.
Who do you KNOW MORE ABOUT, and has weathered past accusations of ‘scandals”—-has nothing ‘hiding in their background” that could cost the Democrats the White House if they become the Nominee? And who has TRUELY worked for the rights of African Americans—–for YEARS?
It’s CLEARLY HILLARY.
VOTE FOR HILLARY TOMORROW, Pennsylvania—–SHE SPEAKS FOR YOU, and has proven she can deliver ACTION, not PROMISES.

All I can say is: the Mainstream Media Men (and truthfully the various network spin Doctors and Pundits and journalists are a VAST MAJORITY of MEN):
I have come to the conclusion that MEN that have the power within the Mainstream Media are trying to twist and spin their on-air time and their articles being ANTI-HILLARY and PRO-OBAMA. Let’s face the truth: these Mainstream Men are scared of seeing a woman get elected as President. It’s THAT SIMPLE.
Everybody dances around WHY the Mainstream Media men are ANTI-Hillary and Pro-obama. But that is the REAL reason.
THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA MEN HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THINKING THAT A WOMAN CAN REALLY BE PRESIDENT.
If the majority of Mainstream Media people and Journalists were WOMEN, there might be a more FAIR AND BALANCED presentation of these Candidates, and BOTH OF THEM WOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY, not just the MAN candidate, even if he is “1/2 Black”.
Face it, America: we have a Media that is scared of the POWER OF A WOMAN. Until we can get MORE WOMEN in Media and Journalist Positions that can TAKE OTHER WOMEN SERIOUSLY who choose to run for office, WE WILL LOSE THE EXPERTISE OF PEOPLE LIKE HILLARY CLINTON, because the current Mainstream Media Men who control “stuff” that is put out there (news, stories, commentary, debate) ARE JUST PLAIN SCARED OF A POWERFUL WOMAN.
Get READY, America, cause women are NOT GONNA QUIT TRYING.
