On Monday, Penn met with representatives of the government of Colombia to discuss how to get the U.S.-Colombian rade deal passed.
On Wednesday, Colomian President Alvaro Uribe issued a statement condemning Obama for his opposition to the trade deal: "I deplore the fact that Senator Obama, aspiring to be president of the United States, should be unaware of Colombia’s efforts. I think it is for political calculations that he is making a statement that does not correspond to Colombia’s reality."
Clinton had already stated her opposition to the trade deal, but Uribe did not mention her.
