A Saturday Night Live Skit Clinton Won’t Be Referencing Anytime Soon

The truth is in the joke. For example, her 2nd point that her supporters are racist…LOL! Any true democrat who will vote for McSame in November must be racist, as there is such a stark contrast between their policies it could be labeled as nothing else.

This goes to show how vetted she is. I’ve read on this blog of NAFTA inconsistencies based on something she said in the early nineties. Now episodes from SNL going as far back as eight years are being used as fodder. Unfortunately, her opponent, if he becomes the nominee, will be raked over the coals to the extent she was. This is actually good support for her assertion of being vetted. She should thank you.

Here’s what’s scary…this skit is pretty close to Hillary Clinton’s actual message. But she has shown such ugly qualities in herself these last four months that her “negatives” have probably doubled. After eight years of Bush and Cheney, voters just don’t want another mean, nasty, ill-tempered person in the White House.

Roxanne Are we talking about the same Obama who has taken money from Citigroup, UBS, JP Morgan Chase, Exelon, Exxon Mobil, British Petroleum and so on? That same Obama? He doesn’t take money from lobbyists, which isn’t entirely accurate because he has in the past and in the present has taken some money, but small in comparison to perhaps the other candidates, from lobbyists (even in Clinton’s case lobbyist money only makes up 1% of her campaign funds) but he does what every other candidate does to get around taking lobbyist money and that is he takes it from “advisors” or “consultants” to lobbyists or “bundled” money. For those who believe Obama can change the system of being beholden to special interests then I first would suggest that they educate themselves on how that system actually operates, a good example would be knowing what “bundling” is. Obama is slowly opting to back out of his committment to take public financing because his arguement would be that he has received so much money from small donors that in his case he’s more beholden to the people. His small donor contributions make up about 46% of his campaign funds (possibly less since small donors who contribute less than $200 aren’t required to be identified or reported to the FEC) and who kept him afloat until all those small donors jumped on board? He clearly brought in more small donor money at the beginning of 2008 then he did the beginning of 2007. I think if one supports Obama, for whatever reason, then great and I totally respect that decision. But it’s difficult to listen to people buy into this notion that Obama is anything but a rank and file Democrat who has little in his record/experience that would indicate that he can bring on the change he promises to some many.

Someone esle posted under my name. The Sinclair story is false. He failed a lie detectors test. Bill O’reily looked into the story and found the story was created by a Ron Paul supporter. The “Sinclair” guy also lives in mental institute. There’s no record of Obama nor him in the hotel he reported and there’s no limo driver.

It’s time to repair the campaign injuries between both campaigns. I am very respectful of the Clinton’s and voted for Bill 2 times and atually went into the voting booth here in San Francisco, California to vote for Hillary and no joke a light went off in my head and all I could think of was the possibility of CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN and YES WE CAN.
More importantly a couple of important flashbacks occured and I gave it a lot of thought before I decided to vote for Senator Obama.
I know the Clinton name and politics and respect them tremendously, but the “NEW KID ON THE BLOCK” has a new energy and brings hope to a lot of Ordinary Americans and I believe he will try to strenghten our nation as a whole and I think he will work for the good of ORDINARY PEOPLE and he has 2 daughters and a wife to work for so he has the no reason to do counter productive things that will affect his family or yours or mine.
I want America to represent quality of life issues for all Americans and I think Senator Obama is up for the challenge. One thing for sure he could not do any worse than what we have been forced to deal with for the past 8 years.
His race is not an issue to me nor is his patrotism. Wearing a flag pin and treating people of color as sub standard humans does not make you a good patriot. Onward and Upward. He will “walk softly and carry a very big stick” to defend ordinary people like you and me.

While I enjoyed the skit last night, I may have a different take on it than you. I don’t see it as damaging to Hillary at all. It is more akin to a parody of how the Obama campaign has painted Hillary, as a demon…. devoid of any moral fiber and backed by racists. To be sure, I am no racist and neither are all those voters in my state (Mass.) who voted for Hillary.
I bet watching the skit was far more frightening for the Obama people than the Clinton supporters. It aims at the worst fears of Obama and the DNC who have chosen him.

rant3000 George Sr. came in with foreign policy experience (more so than probably any other recent President) and George Jr. had none- how George Sr handled Iraq vs George Jr. speaks for itself in regards to the difference between experience and none. George W came in having been a Governor with no foreign policy experience to speak of. As is the case with Obama, he was not an apologist about such because he intended to surround himself with those with the expertise and where he saw his strengths were in the area of judgement, decision making and leadership. Look how well that worked this past 8 yrs. Perhaps if he’d had more experience then Cheney and Rumsfeld wouldn’t have wielded the power they did in this administration and the war in Iraq. George Sr came in having been the Director of the CIA, a U.S. Representative to the U.N., a U.S. envoy to China and 8 yrs of being Vice President. When one of Sr’s. team were asked in later years about the criticism lodged at them for not having taken Iraq while they had the opportunity (in the same way his son later did) their response was “We weren’t crazy”. Even Obama has cited George Sr as being one of the best in regards to foreign policy and in fact Obama stated he wants to take this Country back to the foreign policy traditions of George Sr and Reagan. If I want George Sr and Reagan then why would I not vote McCain based on foreign policy issues?

That was my take on the SNL skit also. It is a satire of Obama camp and MSM depiction of Hillary Clinton. I also think, as I posted previously, will prove frightening to Obama supporters, not Hillary supporters at all.

Regardless of the message of the SNL skit – we as a nation have yet to really deal with the issue of race in this country. Oh on the surface we act like we do – but how many whites really care to see interracial couples or their offspring. The fact of the matter is that we are what we were taught as children. Our parent’s beliefs and their parent’s belief are what make us up – it is called socialization – you can read about in college (but it should be taught in high school!) Nationalism is another word that means how you feel about your country – and what you are taught as a child helps to form that opinion. But white American has yet to deal with race – and their dislike of the black community. Is Hillary wrong for her views – not anymore than any other person who was brought up like that? This election process has shown America’s underbelly to be what it truly is – frighteningly unchanged deep inside – but on the surface we are somewhat tolerant. White middle class Americans (some without a college education) have the beliefs of their parents and grandparents. I grew up hearing my father use the “n” word to talk about black people – I also grew up watching him drink too much. I learned some things from that – one I don’t drink, and two I respect people for whom they are. Both my father and mother’s parents lived in a different time – a time when people were treated without respect for being human and hence they did early on believe what they had been taught by their parents. But they have changed and seen the error of their ways… I can no more disown them for that than I can the hypocrites that attend church ever week. Some of America hides behind their religion to distance themselves from the truth of how it still is – others use a different means. Am I a racist because I do not socialize with my black so-workers outside of work? No – but maybe I am a coward for not standing up to what is right when my white co-workers say unpleasant things behind my back if I do. Our country was founded on the unpleasant truth of murder, hatred, and lies – if you believe otherwise then you probably don’t believe in the holocaust as well. I won’t be the person to change your mind – some minds can’t be changed for whatever the reason. But until we take on this challenge and work together to change this attitude then we are no better off now than before the civil rights campaign. Only on the surface are we smiley and acting like there isn’t a problem – but deep down inside their still is. Both of these politicians want to be the first – perhaps even both really want change. But which one is the best for the job – you can’t rule out one without ruling out the other as well for they both have flaws – because they both are humans. One went to church with a pastor that was angry – and had every right to be. The pastor re-enlisted in the Navy to save lives after serving in the Marine Corps, while at the same time he was being treated as less human than his white counterparts. Does he have the right to be angry – certainly – especially when the world he see’s around him hasn’t really changed that much. Soldiers in combat find out the truth – blacks saving whites and whites saving blacks – and they come home changed from that. Is that what it will take for the rest of our country to see that as well? But you say he shouldn’t have stayed in that church for twenty years. And I pose the question – how many of your churches have done and said things that went against the grain? How many spoke out about AIDS and how it is god’s will to punish the homosexuals? Where in the bible does it say to hate some because of the way they are – I believe it states forgiving them. So did you get up and leave your churches?
Anyway – I believe in the one I think who can do the job better – and that’s who I will vote for. Our country has to change – not just racially but in our politics as well. Because the only winners with the way we are going are the rich – who keep getting richer – while the rest of us flounder in the quagmire than we have been left in for the last two hundred plus years.

One more thing – please don’t forget how the election was stolen from Gore – electronic voting machines are capable of being rigged. When the owner of the memory card is the only one with access to it – it can be pre-programmed with negative numbers which will offset the positive ones. The Diebold and ES&S companies have a stranglehold on our voting process – we’d better wake up and change that before we become the mindless puppets of the super wealthy corporations. I know there is much hysteria surrounding abortion and the right to choose. Perhaps you watched Justice Scalia about a week ago being interviewed on TV. He was charming and thoughtful but plainly sees no right to choose within the literal interpretation of the constitution. However, the point he made was enormously important. If the SC overturns Roe v. Wade, and note they have had infiinte opportunities to do just that and have not, that does not mean abortions are prohibited by federal law. It means that it would then be up to the individual state to determine whether or not there was such a right and set the parameters for exercising or limiting that right. How many people really believe that there state could successfully prohibit a woman’s right to choose? This is not the ’60′s.
McCain cannot prohibit abortions. It is not the president’s domain at all. He could appoint a supreme court justice who might appear to take a literal approach to interpretation, like Scalia, Roberts, and Alito, but that is as far as he can go. The right to choose has been determined by SC’s interpretation of the US constitution. Stacking the court would be the most a president could do. He/she only gets to do that when a SC justice retires or dies. We have a lot of justices that will be with us for years to come.

But don’t beat yourself up too hard. According to his foreign policy advisor Susan Rice, Obama intends to keep 80,000 troops in Iraq. You see, if you’d been paying attention you would know that Obama talks out of both sides of his mouth, saying one thing to one group and the direct opposite to another. That’s one thing he does seem to be experienced at.
