Bill Clinton: Hillary Can Still Win As The ‘Popular Choice of Democrats’

ABC News’ Sarah Amos Reports: What started as a simple noon stroll through Old San Juan, quickly turned into a mob scene for former President Bill Clinton and his daughter Chelsea today.

Clinton weighed in on several topics as he navigated through a circus of media, locals, tourist and secret service agents.

When asked about former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan’s new  book, Clinton said he hadn’t seen it yet, adding, "From what I read it seems to confirm what Joe Wilson has always said about his own experience. And it shows all the more why it’s important that we change the direction of the country and pick the best President."

During Clinton’s two day trip to Puerto Rico, he has been strong in his assertion that a big win for his wife here will help her win the overall popular vote come June 3rd.   When asked what that win will prove, Clinton said it would show she is the "popular choice of the democrats."

"And the party will have to decide whether they believe the caucuses – where you get about one delegate for 2000 votes  – are more important than the primaries where you get one for 12,000. And that this really astonishing race where both have run  amazing campaigns they’re going to have to decide how to resolve this. The unpledged delegates, so called super delegates.  But at least she will have been able to make her best case there. We’ll just see what happens," added the former President.

Clinton also spoke about this weekend’s upcoming DNC meeting to deal with the unresolved issue of the Florida and Michigan delegations, telling reporters that the two states clearly need to be included and that Hillary had done everything in her power to help them,

"We should find a way to let everybody vote and have all the votes be counted and have a decent and honorable slate of delegations from Florida and Michigan. Those people are important to our future. It’s hard to imagine how we bring America back without their involvement and it’s hard to imagine how a Democrat could run for president without their support. So she, Hillary’s for them to be seated and to be seated in a fair way all the way along. She’s offered to go there and run again, that was turned down. She’s offered everything in the world to help them, so I think it’s up to the Democratic committee to do the right thing," said Clinton before turning back to the ever growing crowd of onlookers.

Shorter Bill: Why can’t we just change the rules to benefit Hillary after the fact.

Not only she will defeat McCain, she will be a great president.
This is in sharp contrast to Bho, who will lose to McCain, and you will never find out how bad he would be as a pres.

The Constitution should be amended to do away with the out-dated electoral college. It is time to follow a true Jeffersonian democracy. There are no longer restrictions by 18th century technology.

And what exactly is your Obama going to do about the $5 gallon of gas, and the $5 loaf of bread????
Let’s hear one SOLID plan of his for remedying any of these problems that has any realistic chance of occurring.
The man can’t even remember stories told around the family hearth correctly, nor did he pay attention.
And if he didn’t care enough to listen about his own family, what on earth makes you think he will listen to any of the problems the rest of us Americans are having?
All he has to do is go write another book and make another couple of million and he’s all set, but what about he rest of us?

look at the great reception they are receiving in pr. they should move down there and hillary can run for governor
and bill can do whatever he wants.
i am sooooo over the clintons.
if the rules committee caves and gives in to the clinton the base is going to go wild.

“…when the Dems are paying $5 for gas and $5 for a loaf of bread, if they pull the lever for McOld, they deserve whatever they get!”
They got those prices from a Democratic majority Congress. Nancy Pelosi failed to deliver. Let the chips fall.
Since Obama is tied to her apron strings, that fried chicken smell is likely to be what we get from an Obama Administration.
IOW, nothing you are saying makes a bit of sense. The reality is the voters have been paying attention and since February, Obama’s numbers have been declining in the popular vote. After Puerto Rico, Hillary will clearly be the people’s choice.
The DNC has met the enemy they are it. We don’t deserve better because we let Nancy and the DNC do what they wanted. We were asleep and trusted them somewhat like Titanic passengers trusted E.J. Smith. Captain, this ship is heading for the deep where it will be for a long time before a political archaeologist finds her. Meanwwhile, we’ll be collecting the bodies from the downticket races and shipping them to San Francisco for hippie burials.

Bill has become the new DNC ruler now, he is including a rule which says that you can be the nominee by “Popular choice of Democrats” which nobody knows what it means anyway. Bill and Hill the Bosnian General have to accept the reality and move on, please do not insist in error, it is not helpful, be a good player.

Hill and Bill: This thing is over (duh).
All you’re doing by prologing this is digging your legacies out of the dirt so you can kill them twice. Kind of unsightly and bizarre, but it is becoming fun to watch.

Nobody believes that either candidate is “clean as the driven snow”… the difference is that BHO campaigned on the concept of change… he is not, all he can do is lie, manipulate and copy Hillary.

Posted by: Chipo | May 28, 2008, 5:12 pm 5:12 pm

Hillary did not win in my state but I met most of her supporters and they said they were grateful to vote for her in their lifetime, even she did not make it here.
That energy which make me believe in her.
At the end of this election even she lost, she will remain a hero to her supporters.

Posted by: catleya | May 28, 2008, 5:18 pm 5:18 pm

I am hoping that Hillary Clinton’s argument about the popular vote will win over the remaining superdelegates and that the american people will see justice done for Hillary and her supporters. If Hillary had declared herself the nominee before the fact like Obama then she would have been hit with lawsuits by the blacks and called all kinds of horrible names, worse than now, but for some reason the media does not want any unfair treatment of this flop who will take the democrats down that long road to defeat like all of the failures before him. Bill Clinton is the only democrat in mine and Obama’s lifetime to make it (Carter is an anomoly)to the whitehouse and he does not even acknowledge Clinton as a great president. Plus if you think that the Monica Lewinsky scandal was anything then wait for Larry Sinclair and Donald Young!

Neither will win at this point, many HRC supports can’t support BHO and I know the same about BHO’s base. This is unfortunate and brought on us by Barrack… If he was a good little Senator he would have waited his turn, now he has doomed us to 4 more years of McSame

Posted by: Chipo | May 28, 2008, 5:27 pm 5:27 pm

There is not one candidate running who is qualified to be POTUS. None have been annointed by a Prophet of God to be our leader.
None have any real intention of changing anything, except maybe the size of their bank accounts.
If HRC is denied the nomination, she should run as an independent. We would then have a 4 way race, Obama-HRC-McCain-Barr. The last time we had a strong 4 way POTUS race, we had a little argument at Bull Run and a real donnybrook at Gettysburg.

George W. Bush was famous for not allowing protesters near his speeches. Obama is telling his supporters to stay away from the meeting on Saturday. Donna Brazile brags on CNN about how open the meeting is.
Those who believe power is captured and kept by keeping the people away from the decision makers share one trait without question: they’re scared.

Posted by: len | May 28, 2008, 5:38 pm 5:38 pm

This is silly. Bill Clinton well knows that your party can still get a majority of aggregate votes in the Senate, and by the distribution of those votes, still be in the minority. That’s sort of like what the nomination process is like — moreso on the GOP side.

Posted by: jim | May 28, 2008, 5:44 pm 5:44 pm

Yes Ray, I believe you’re right. Hurry and tell hillary to run as an Independent. I don’t believe there are any rules for doing that. But even if there are, hillary can disregard them….she’s married to bill, she can do anything she wants.

Posted by: LA in Indiana | May 28, 2008, 5:44 pm 5:44 pm

The popular vote DOES NOT count in the election.>>>Sorry Hilly can’t change these rules that have been in place for AGES…What else do yyou want to cahnge to suit your campaign????
Why don’t you get a day job…Take your big mouth thing you call a husband with you….

Posted by: older person | May 28, 2008, 5:44 pm 5:44 pm

Didn’t Bill Clinton’s primary run use the same rules and mode of operation? Did he complain then, when it worked for him? I’m really asking. If you know, speak up.

Posted by: louielouie | May 28, 2008, 5:48 pm 5:48 pm

It is not too late for the DNC to make the right decision and count all of the votes in Michigan and Florida. It is also not too late to form a third party. Some people are wearing blinders. Obama cannot win. Hillary is the most qualified candidate, McCain is second, Obama is not acceptable.
The Democrat Party is in real trouble, not only with its flawed process, but its blunders on caucuses and disenfranchising voters. Let the people decide. Caucuses do not represent all the voters, and superdelegates should not be allowed to be wined and dined and given sums of money to endorse any candidate. Superdelegates also should not be allowed to endorse before the Convention. They are going to lose many members if they do not change.

I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY FEEL LIKE THEY CAN CHANGE THE RULES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CONTEST. I REALLY DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY WE ARE EVEN DISCUSSING THIS. ITS BEYOND MY UNDERSTANDING. PLAY BY THE RULES…..PERIOD. they set the rules now they want to change them to benefit them. UNBELIEVABLE….!

I think Newt Gingrich’s mom said it best when she said of Hillary while talking with Barbara(wa wa) Walters.”She is a Bitch” So what if Hillary was President and she walks in one day and catches Bill humping the maid, loses it and blows up China.

Posted by: jeff | May 28, 2008, 6:05 pm 6:05 pm

Only he could justify in his mind why they should change the rules after they had all agreed to them. Sort of sounds like what GWB does in his own mind….
My Momma always said if you tell a lie enough sooner or later you will start to believe it to be true..If the Democrats want to change how they elect someone for nomination then they should change the rules before the next election cycle, you can’t change in midstream…

Clinton should have fought this noble fight for Florida and Michigan back in January when she was still the frontrunner and didn’t need them so desperately. It is too obvious now that all she is fighting for is getting herself in the WH. If I was a FL or MI voter I’d take offence for being used like that.
Obama, on the other hand, should have fought for them too. He has been way too passive on this issue. Though the responsibility really lies with DNC party officials, this was a chance for him to show leadership. He blew it. Only comfort: Clinton blew it too.

According to the Clintons in their ever changing end game rules we should only have a poll, the election doesn’t count.
All we have to do is listen to a half dozen states ignore all those states that voted for Obama, and take a poll.
Isn’t this what they had planed on? The polls said they would win, and the Big States would go for them.

Obama is an attorney, was a state legislator, a professor, now a US senator, but according to YOUR distorted standards, this man is not qualified to be a president of the US.

Jozy asks: “Len – would you let your daughter marry another race?”
Sure. I draw the line at farm animals and polygamists. My children have been raised in mixed neighborhoods and can choose for themselves. I’d sort of like her not to marry a musician. They are dogs. :-)
You need to figure out that some of us got past race a generation ago. It is like the Jewish fellow asked on another blog. The Jews don’t cling to being victims as an excuse. Some have yet to do so. Others have.
When you do, your world will be immeasurably more promising, hopeful, and peaceful. I wish that for you sincerely. Racism doesn’t end because you treat others equally in spite of their differences. It ends when you love them because of their differences, not jungle fever, but really seeing them for who they are. Justice is an act of the human heart not the law.
Best to you, Jozy.

Sandy B: No more ideas of Clintons to echo? Do mean great, well thought-out foreign policy ideas like “obliterating Iran?” Or great foreign policy ideas like voting for the Iraq war, which even Bush clones now admit was a lie and a farce which killed 4000 Americans – so far? Or do you mean social issues like socialized medicine, which Hillary did so badly with last time that she admitted in 2000 that 20 million Americans would have had health care if she had been willing to negotiate and work with anyone else? Or do mean brilliant economic plans like the gas tax plan – which even Krugman could not bring himself to support?

It is certainly not a lie. Third, I don’t think the current President of the United States could even tell us what the Bill of Rights is, let alone teach law.

Some of you guys are right on about Obama not bringing ANY of Hillary’s massive baggage up during this campaign. No one else in the history of modern politics would have shown her such deference and respect. She was in no way entitled to have her immense baggage sealed and regarded as taboo- by anyone, including the liberal press. In contrast, she attacked Obama at every possible chance, and quite disrespectfully at that. “I’ve already been vetted, you know everything about me!” Hillary said. BS- so all the old baggage can’t be brought up again and rehashed over and over? Your negatives will always travel with you. You know the Repugnants would bring up the Clinton fiascos- every single bit of the tremendous illegal, amoral, and self-serving baggage the Clintons will carry as their legacy- not a bit of which Senator Obama or his surrogates EVER brought up during the campaign. She should be eternally grateful for the consideration he gave her throughout the campaign. What a gentleman! Women should be praising him, if they weren’t so frustrated about no longer having the prospect for the first woman president. Let’s hope the next female candidate that runs for the presidency is treated with such deference and respect by their opponents. Not only that, let’s hope the next female candidate shows a lot more respect for her opponents, be they male or female. Please!

This is a delegate race. No other metric matters. If the Party or a candidate wants to change this, then take on this issue after the November election. This election must follow the existing rules. Anything else will delegitimize the outcome. Clinton had every advantage, including a two term President in her corner. No other candidate in history has entered a race with her advantage and political machine. She ran a lousy campaign and was out flanked by a superior candidate and superior campaign team. Period. Now she wants to destroy the Party because she did not prevail. All that remains to be seen is whether the Democratic Party will stand up to the Clintons and end this so we can take on McCain or allow them to finish off the Democratic Party. If she unfairly steals the nomination, only hardcore Clintonites will show up in November and that won’t be nearly enough.

On Michigan, Hillary Clinton has agreed to have billionaire Forbes 400 friends buy the state of Michigan for her. Read the people who signed the Rendell letter. Every single one of them is either a multi-millionaire or a billionaire. They are not regular people who have lost jobs in Michigan and are wondering how to feed their families. Two weeks ago, the CLINTONS not Obama turned down a completely reasonable solution for Michigan votes that would have been fair to everyone. These people are sounding more and more like corrupt old-style southern politicians every day.

As to women being smarter—BS. People are people. We should not be judged based on race or sex. Women are no better than men as a general rule. She ran this election like a man. Remember people closest to her informed us she has at least 3 testicles.
I say this as a 42 year old white female.

@andreas: “Obama will not pull out of Iraq if elected president.”
Neither will Hillary or McCain, Andreas. This is where Joe Biden was honest and forthright. Any honest military logisitics expert will tell you it can’t be done immediately. They will begin to withdraw because
1) The situation is improving
2) We can’t sustain this level of engagement on two fronts without reinstitituting the draft and raising taxes
3) We’ve done the job. The Iraquis have to decide if they want good lives for their children or to keep killing each other for their mullahs.
We can’t make up their minds but we are ‘neck deep in the big muddy’ and now it is a matter of do we ‘push on’ or start moving out. When there is nothing to win, there is no such thing as surrender. We learned that in VietNam far far too late in the war.
But immediately? It can’t be done. Realize that and you’ll be a lot less angry at whoever does win this election.

So do you. At 42 as a younger woman, maybe you can find your own pig. There are lots of us out there. What you’re eating from your plate is what the barnyard allows.
I didn’t say women are smarter. I said she is smart. She is. Women deserve a better shot than they have been given of late. She deserves better than what has been done to her in this race. That’s a fact.

Anders, he did not lie. He talked about his uncle in the war and wrongly stated the concentration camp.
So how is that a lie?
If he said his uncle was dodging sniper fire in Bosnia….now THAT would have been a lie.

Geraldine Ferarro was right. IF he was a white man say like Edwards and gave these pretty speeches, do you really think that he would be where he is? NO. It wouldn’t be anything new.
What is the rest of that statement about hardworking white Americans? What he said about Jesse Jackson was fact was it not? He did well in whatever state that was that Bill was talking about.

Let me clarify, I do not think either one of the Clinton’s are themselves specifically racist.
Having said that, I believe they tired and succeeded in giving their low information, uneducated voters an excuse to express their own racism in the voting booth. Something we should discourage as a nation and particularly should be discouraged by our leaders.
I take exception to the fact that she felt the need to qualify the statement of hard working Americans by specifying white Americans. Even if the exit polls were referring to the white vote, she shouldn’t have.
She should be above that kind of politics.

We can’t. That would a totalitarian state. We wish to be free so we tolerate the intolerable. Even sexism disguised as elite commentary is free speech. We can vote against it but that is the limit of our power as a free people. See Skokie.

I applaud you for being a progressive male. I have a minor in women’s studies and know quite a lot about the feminist movement from its inception to the current. Women have made huge strides forward and it has taken women like Hillary Clinton to make that happen.
Having said all of that, it does not mean Hillary was owed the presidency as the first serious female candidate. Just as Obama does not deserve it for being the first black male.
By the way, I already have my pig, thank you very much. However, I have to say he isn’t a pig. I labeled Bill a pig for how he humiliated Hillary Clinton in the ’90s. Props to her by the way for handling that whole think with extraordinary class and dignity.

Is it racism that blacks are voting for Obama in huge numbers? I say no. If anything it is pride.
Is it sexism that a huge number of white women vote for Hillary? No, for the same reason. They are voting out of pride.
The people who I think have voted for racist reasons are the people who came out of the voting booth and told poll takers that they were. It was in the 21% range in West Virginia and around 18% in Kentucky.
I feel she helped make the idea of voting based on racial bias acceptable. She needed to reach out to the black population who have been extremely loyal to the Clintons and instead she made that “white Americans” comment.

He did treat her badly, GetReal, and she made him pay the price. But in my humble opinion, that is their personal business, not ours.
I don’t think being a woman entitles her to the Presidency. I think she is the best candidate by many measures. That she is a woman may provide a perspective that has never been possible for the leader of the free world. At least, I hope that is the case.
Consider this: take race off the table, and Barack is just one more skinny dude. Hillary cannot be other than the sex she is, so if she is reviled for that, then as a student of feminism, you should recognize that for what it is: enslavement.
It would be a lot better for all of us if we could put our isms back in their boxes next to our soiled laundry as something to be cleaned as soon as possible.
For my money, honestly? The best solution is a joint ticket. It is unbeatable and has a chance of getting us more than eight years. That is a real chance for real change. If the party elders will get the frik out of the way, it could happen because they both want to win and they can read the numbers as well as we can. She can’t get the nomination unless something wild happens this Saturday and he can’t win the election unless some catastrophe takes McCain out.
Short odds are better.

No she didn’t. It was built into the race from day one just as sexism is. We lucked out and got two ‘historical changes’ in the same cycle and it brings out the worst in some people. One day it will be an avowed homosexual and we’ll see even crueler things.
“The times they are a changin’” and all we can do as individuals is choose how we will grow in response. Some choose mostly unwisely. Some hide. Some feel. Some think.
But we all change. Chaos is the engine of evolution.

The same old fights from the 60′s on continue over and over so what are going to do just vote for the same old thing again?
The Clinton’s will say and do anything to win and if you want to count the popular vote than we need to include the
votes from the caucuses, and than let’s see who has the lead!
The goal post continues to move and move and move. I am getting tired of this woman more each and everyday, she is smart and intelligent but time to pass the torch to the next generation!

If The DNC Strictly Applies The Rules, Obama Will Lose
A strict interpretation of the DNC Rules that follows the reasoning of the DNC Memo circulated today would require the following results:
A. The stripping of 50% of the delegates of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Michigan.
B. The full seating of the Florida delegation.
C. Should the DNC RBC reject the safe harbor provision for Florida, then Florida would have 50% of its delegations stripped, but Barack Obama would be entitled to no delegates from Florida due to his violation of Rule 20c.1.b. .
By my math, a strict interpretation of the DNC rules would result in a net gain of 80 or 89 pledged delegates for Clinton.

Caucuses Rock. People love them.
Ya Caucuses tend to favor the candidate that has:
a) the most dedicated supporters;
b) greater likability; and
c) the superior organizational and administrative abilities.
So Hillary goes 0 for 3 here. I guess this is why her supporters now hate the Caucus.

Here we are at the playoffs for the SuperBowl. Barack has a one point lead and has the ball within 10 yards of another touchdown. With only 30 seconds left he will probably just eat up the clock in the next couple plays. But wait Hillary is arguing with an official that even if Barack has more points, her team has gained the most yards and should be declared the winner. Now she is arguing her team did better in the big area in the middle of the field. Now Bill is on the field arguing with another official saying sportswriters say Hillaries team has a better chance of winning in the SuperBowl against McCain’s team. If the officials let Barack win and advance to the SuperBowl, McCain’s team will tear his team apart. Official are now in a huddle on the sidelines trying to decide how the determine the winner. Will it be points, who gains the most yards, who does well in the large middle section of the field, or base it on what sportswriters are saying would be the best match up in the Super Bowl. We will have to wait to hear what they decide.

Ask yourself this:
Why would Karl Rove endorse Hillary Clinton? Karl Rove only does things to the advantage of the Republican Party.
Why would Wesley Clark, a staunch Republican, be siding with the Clintons to drag the Democratic bickering out until August?
Obviously, the Clintons are playing into the Republican playbook, and Hillary’s temper tantrum will result in the Democrats losing yet another Presidency to the Republicans.
If that happens, Hillary will never get another bite at the apple in 2012.

There is nothing ABC news can do to stop Sen. Clinton from becoming President. About three years ago a well known televangelist, Perry Stone Jr., told his congregation that God spoke to him and said Sen. Clinton will be the next President. This information can be obtained from one of his published works on CD entitled “Strange Patterns of Recent American Presidents.” On track 7 of this CD, he tells us that Sen. Clinton will once again be in the White House. So give it up ABC News. And Barack, your days are numbered.

Posted by: brianerickson65 | May 28, 2008, 10:07 pm 10:07 pm

LA in Indiana,
Whose hypocrisy are you talking about? Obama chose the Karl Rove playbook in one of the first debates and said that Hillary was “untrustworthy”. He claims to take the high road, but that is even more hypocritical. His camp played the race card in South Carolina to ignite their African-American base. Calling the Clintons racists is a colossal joke. But, it worked. With the biased media supporting and pushing him while denigrating the Clintons at every turn, he has had an easy ride. Unlike many of his supporters, we did not play the race card. They even tortured some, like John Lewis, to swing to Obama, even though he was a solid Clinton supporter. We did not play the race card and we are not racists. We want a President who has a lot of knowledge and experience. Obama doen’t. He is green.
The trouble with the DNC is that they should never have disenfranchised voters in Michigan and Florida. It could have been redone, but Obama stopped that cold. He prefers the caucus format. Wonder why? If I were a Democrat voter from Michigan or Florida, you know d**n well that McCain would get my vote in the GE.
My advice for the Democrat Party is to change this ridiculous process. The caucuses do not reflect the will of all the voters. Look at the circus in Texas for one example. The Superdelegate process is a joke! Taking favors to endorse before the Convention makes a mockery of their role as the wisdom of the Party. There must be a better way to determine the will of the people without disenfranchising the voters of two states.
You call us crackheads. Why? Your type has destroyed the Party for this next election. Unlike some Superdelegates, my vote is not for sale.

This whole charade will end on Tuesday, when Obama clinches the nomination by passing the delegate threshold. Just enough Super Delegates will pledge to him so that his totals on Tuesday will push him over the top. Then we can all focus on November, and Clinton can focus on winning her Senate seat back.

Jeremiah-gate has changed this race.
Because of Jeremiah-gate, Obama is unelectable.

But Caucuses do Rock in the Primaries and have since ancient times.
This is nothing new.
What is new is that Hillz was not ready on day one.

i was listening to the “npr” earlier today..to chockingly know that, hillary was intentionally intended to complicate the situation about florida and michigan.. you know what she said -and that is before iowa- she said;”i decided not to withdraw my name from the two primamries, becuase i beleive it really don’t make a different”… remember that is before iowa, sound confident then that she will be the party’s nominee..
and what happen, now all of a sudden florida and michigan become very important!!! do you know why??? we all know becuase she lost the election.. now she want evey vote count, talking about disfranciasing these two states..
respect your supporters intelligence hillary..!!!
this is just like you are playing a football game, and when you lost it.. you want to change the rules that you agreed to in the beginning.. or keep saying i did not loose.. i’m infact a winner.. because i had better skills that my opponent..
it doesn’t take even a little 3 years old boy.. to say hillary arguement is flat wrong.. but unfortunately, hillary’s supporters still convinced she is a winnerin this election..
if we didn’t call that delusion.. i don’t know what to call it.. may be idiotic is the right word.

So far here are the Dem decisions;
If Obama becomes nominee he loses the 30% Bush Dems who will vote for Hillary in OH,WV,Penn,Kentucky. He will lose 40% apprx of angry base who supports Hillary. Then there are the disenfranchised voters in MI and FL. If Hillary becomes nominee she will lose the new youth Dems? Some of the African Americans and some angry votes. Oh yeah and from what I have read on here, there will be riots; from the youth? Hmmmmmm. As a youth and before I became a mother, I protested, a lot due to police beatings, racism, reproductive rights and crooked elections! Never ever did I riot, so it’s hard to respect that sort of threat over voting however one wishes.

and by the way bill is make the same faulty argument today in porto rico when he is dicounting the role of cocuses during this election.. don’t worry bill the dnc will change the rule in the upcoming election, so hillary can win in 2016.. what is troubling about the clintons is; they are always disrespecting their audiance intelligence.. who knows may be they think every one standing infront of them is a drop out or pairly have a ged..it is a shame!!!

DON’T BE DUPED AGAIN AMERICA !!!
IT’S ABOUT ELECTABILITY !!!
Large numbers of BUSH_McCain Republicans have been voting for Barack Obama in the DEMOCRATIC primaries, and caucuses from early on with the backing and help of the medical and insurance industry. Under the direction of the George Bush, and Karl Rove vote fraud, and vote manipulation machine. Because they feel Barack Obama would be a weaker opponent against John McCain. And they want to stop Hillary Clinton from fixing the HUGE! American, and Global mess they have created. shocking!!! isn’t it. Just gotta love those good old draft dodging, silver spoon Texas boys. Not! :-(
You see, the medical and insurance industry mostly support the republicans with the money they ripped off from you. And they don’t want you to have quality, affordable universal health care. They want to be able to continue to rip you off, and kill you and your children by continuing to deny you life saving medical care that you have already paid for. So they can continue to make more immoral profits for them-selves off of you, and your children’s suffering.
With Hillary Clinton you are almost 100% certain to get quality affordable universal health care for everyone very soon. And you are also certain to see major improvements in the economy for everyone.
The American people face even worse catastrophes ahead than the ones you are living through now. It will take all of the skills, and experience of Hillary Clinton to pull the American people out of this mess we are in. Fortunately fixing up, and cleaning up others incompetence, immoral degeneracy, and mess is what the Clinton’s do very well.
Hillary Clinton has actually won by much larger margins than the vote totals showed. And lost by much smaller vote margins than the vote totals showed. Her delegate count is actually much higher than it shows. And higher than Obama’s. She also leads in the electoral college numbers that you must win to become President in the November national election. HILLARY CLINTON IS ALREADY THE TRUE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE!
Just look at Oregon for example. Obama won Oregon by about 70,000 votes. But approximately 79,000 Bush republicans switched party’s back in January to vote for Obama in the democratic primary. They are not going to vote for, or support any Democrat in November. Are you DEMOCRATS going to put up with that. Are you that stupid, and weak. The Bush republicans think you are that stupid, and weak.
As much as 30% of Obama’s primary, and caucus votes are Republicans trying to choose the weakest democratic candidate for McCain to run against. These Republicans have been gaming the caucuses, and open primaries where it is easier to vote cheat. This is why Obama has not been able to win the BIG! states primaries. Even with Republican vote cheating help. Except North Carolina where 35% of the population is African American, and approximately 90% of them block voted for him. African Americans are only approximately 17% of the general population.
Hillary Clinton has been OUT MANNED! and OUT SPENT! 4 and 5 to 1. Yet Obama has only been able to manage a very tenuous, and questionable tie with Hillary Clinton. This is even more phenomenal when you consider she has been also fighting against the George Bush, Karl Rove vote fraud machine in the DEMOCRATIC primaries, and caucuses. Hillary Clinton is STUNNING!.
If Obama is the democratic nominee for the national election in November he will be slaughtered. That is crystal clear now. Because all of the Republican vote cheating help will suddenly evaporate. And the demographics, and experience are completely against him. All of this vote fraud and Bush republican manipulation has made Obama falsely look like a much stronger candidate than he really is.
You will have another McGovern catastrophe where George McGovern lost 49 of 50 states. And was the reason the super-delegates were created to keep that from happening again. Don’t let that happen to the party and America again super-delegates. You have the power to prevent it. The only important question now is who can best win in November. And the answer is HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON. That fact is also now crystal clear.
And YOUNG PEOPLE. DON’T BE DUPED! Think about it. You have the most to lose. As do African Americans. Support Hillary Clinton. She will do her best for all of you. And she will know how to best get it done on day one.
The democratic party needs to fix this outrage. Everyone needs to throw all your support to Hillary Clinton NOW! So you can end this outrage against YOU the voter, and against democracy.
The democratic party, and the super-delegates have a decision to make. Are the democrats, and the democratic party going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee to fight for the American people. Or are the republicans going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee through vote fraud, and gaming the DEMOCRATIC party primaries, and caucuses.
Fortunately the Clinton’s have been able to hold on against this fraudulent outrage with those repeated dramatic, and heroic comebacks of Hillary Clinton’s. Only the Clinton’s are that resourceful, and strong. Hillary Clinton is your NOMINEE. They are the best I have ever seen. Probably the best there has ever been. :-)
“This is not a game” (Hillary Clinton)
Sincerely
jacksmith… Working Class :-)

Sorry Bill but Hillary’s popular vote total will matter only to you and your
crazy supporters!
Puerto Rico is Not a State!
It’s citizens Cannot Vote in the
Presidential Election and therefore
their popular vote should Not be
included with the votes of the
States who held legal primaries!
You and your wife Have Lost!
GO HOME!

Four years from now, we, the Clinton fans will come back upon the downfall of the empty suit that offers no solution but hot air waiting for the war to end, and economy to be screwed from the high gas price and an astronomical deficit used unwisedly by the rookie.
Then the first black president nominee will be dogged as the worst ever politicians that has ever lived.
Hillary’s campaign has accomplished a lot despite the party are fixed to abuse the democracy of one person and one vote. Millions of voters specially in FL and MI always will remember the undemocratic party and ready to revenge when time is critical. A possible short-termed win for the party pundits will turn out to be a permanent long-termed loss for the party, the black community and specially Ted Kennedy and alike.

Looking at the way Clinton wants to change these rules, is it any wonder that the rest of the world does not want the “United” States to bring democracy to their countries? Hillary has made a mockery of the entire Democratic party. I find her disrespectful to all of us.
Obama ’08!

So Obama misspeaks about a relative of his 60 years ago, and gets shot down, Hillary at best misspeaks about her own experience in Bosnia and thats ok?

i have a question why do we have to vote and it doesn’t matter cause it is all up to the committy anyhow that what im see he or she isnt going to get in they need more dem.committ or whatever it is. so why does our vote matter? i am just curious. go hilary

Obama will appeal to enough moderate conservatives to make up for any of the Hillary supporters who decide to support Senator McCain.
Everyone I know who previously voted for GWB is solidly behind Obama, so long as he doesn’t chose her as his VP.
The Republican brand is poison in 08, we’ve had enough Bushes and Clintons to last a lifetime (1980-2008). It’s time to close this chapter on Presidential History.
She needs to focus on her Senate career.

a new name:
One of the reasons the electoral college was created was to prevent
large states from dominating our
elections! If the presidential election
is just decided by popular vote than we can just count the votes of New York,
California, Texas, Florida, Ohio, and
Michigan and forget about the rest of
the country! Don’t hold your breath!
A popular vote only election won’t happen in the near future.

I hope Hillary will win this nomination and go all the way to the White House. Obama is a politician just like the rest…the problem is that he does not have the experience to lead this great nation, the white house is not an internship…his election can do more harm than good and can set race relations back 40 years.
As an African American female I would be embarassed to have Barack Obama as President. He should go back to the Senate and show back bone and establish a voting record rather than sneaking in the back door and making promises that he can’t keep.

Fine Reaganfan, then don’t count the caucuses either since there are no caucuses in the general.

Posted by: Lucy | May 29, 2008, 2:21 pm 2:21 pm

Gallup Poll: Clinton Stronger in Swing States
Gallup Poll: “In the 20 states where Hillary Clinton has claimed victory in the 2008 Democratic primary and caucus elections (winning the popular vote), she has led John McCain in Gallup Poll Daily trial heats for the general election over the past two weeks of Gallup Poll Daily tracking by 50% to 43%. In those same states, Barack Obama is about tied with McCain among national registered voters, 45% to 46%.”

Posted by: America First | May 29, 2008, 9:30 pm 9:30 pm

Lucy your logic is faulty!
Most of the Caucuses were held in U.S. states whose voters can vote in the
presidential election! If you want to throw out the caucus results of Guam so be it! The Puerto Rico Popular vote
should not be added to either
candidates overall vote totals!

Posted by: reaganfan | May 29, 2008, 11:48 pm 11:48 pm

Hillary wasn’t even the popular choice with YOU, Bill. Why should the country feel any differently. You betrayed her so many years ago and nothing you can say or do now will ever repair that.
I say, lets start with a clean slate. Obama is no kid. He’s 46 years old, has a smart, level-headed wife, a calm demeanor and can begin to lead us out of the weeds But we can’t act like children. We all have to work at it. Remember Ask not what…
