Blogging the Kentucky and Oregon primaries by The Note’s Rick Klein

9:05 pm ET: So now Iowa for Obama tonight, then Florida tomorrow. His fundraising, again, blows hers away. The math is the math. Not much good from Clinton’s perspective, given the fact that she’s cruising to a 30-point victory.

How many supers fall tomorrow? What does Nancy Pelosi do?

Read about it in The Note tomorrow morning…

8:44 pm ET: Speech struck me as just gracious enough, but not overly so. Still sounds like she’s in it to win it, or something like that. Phony numbers are what they are, but she’s still got her argument. Maybe she’s justifying her continued candidacy to herself at this point — it’s hard to tell.

8:27 pm ET: Support the nominee "whoever she may be." Nice touch.

8:20 pm ET: "We’re winning the popular vote," she adds. OK, this remains more than problematic — if not downright deceitful. But it’s an argument — and really the only reason to still care about what’s going to happen with Florida and Michigan.

"Why do millions keep turning out to vote in the face of naysayers and skeptics?" There’s your question to Obama tonight.

8:19 pm ET: "Pretty tough odds," she said. Yup. "You’ve never given up on me because you know I’ll never give up on you."

8:15 pm ET: Also: "Count the Votes."

8:14 pm ET: Hard to miss that sign behind Hillary on stage in Louisville: "Yes Women Can."

8:08 pm ET: Here’s one way to change the subject: From ABC’s Jake Tapper: "ABC News has learned that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., hauled in $31.9 million in April (including $600,000 for the general election) to continue his battle for the Democratic nomination against Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.  Two hundred thousand new donors joined Obama’s effort last month."

8:03 pm ET: From ABC’s Sunlen Miller: "The Obama family just arrived on the plane in Chicago to fly to Des Moines. While they were boarding Obama was yelled at by reporters how he was feeling, "I’m doing good, " he responded. And with that he got on the plane – and as a side note, he was wearing the flag pin . . . as he has every day this week."

7:24 pm ET: So it’s hard to change games that are already over, but if it’s over, who forgot to tell the voters in Kentucky? Same folks who didn’t tell the voters of West Virginia? The question will be asked among Democrats — what does this say about Sen. Obama’s prospects? I don’t claim to know the answer to that yet.

7 pm ET: Right at poll closing time, from ABC’s Decision Desk: "Based on exit polls, ABC News projects that Clinton will win the Kentucky Democratic Primary by a large margin."

There you have it — "large margin." Don’t look now, but Hillary Clinton’s on a winning streak — if it matters anymore.

6:30 pm ET: Another interesting point about tonight: These two states are a test case for Obama’s socioeconomic problems, while factoring out race. Kentucky and Oregon are both overwhelmingly white states — but Democrats look very different in those states. Thus Clinton is favored in Kentucky, Obama in Oregon. That split really is more salient for the general election.

6:26 pm ET: This whole phenomenon of people saying they’ll leave the party if Obama’s the nominee — do you think we’d hear similar things if Clinton was on the verge of the nomination? And how much of it is people registering frustration via pollsters, versus actually committing to cross over and vote for McCain?

I’m still struck by how comparatively little Obama has sought to tailor his message for the working class. It may be that this thing was far enough along by the time his problems became evident that he hasn’t had to. But does anyone think this won’t be a problem in the fall?

5:57 pm ET: From the early exits, an early, glaring warning sign: "Nearly half of Kentucky Democratic voters say they would not support [Obama] in a November election against John McCain, similar to the result in West Virginia," per ABC’s Gary Langer.

Yowsers. Remember that this guy is going to be the nominee…

————————–

Hi gang, Rick Klein here from ABC’s The Note. I’ll be online tonight as the results roll in, with the latest from exit polls and from our reporters in the field.

It almost seems awkward to have an election night tonight, given the news out of Boston that has frozen the political world. Here’s guessing that you could get Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain to agree immediately that Sen. Ted Kennedy is a national treasure. We all pray for his swift recovery.

Some day we’ll miss these election days — but that day isn’t here yet. So in the meantime — what’s at stake? I argue in today’s Note that these contests could have bearing on the race for vice president, in the sense that this could be filling out Sen. Clinton’s electoral resume. It has the potential to be an odd night indeed for Obama; he’s been the all-but certain nominee in the eyes of the mainstream media for two weeks now, and still he could lose rather badly in Kentucky. He’ll have Oregon, in all likelihood — and more significantly he’ll have Iowa tonight, and one of the most closely watched speeches of his campaign.

His tone will be all-important when he declares a majority of pledged delegates. That’s about as important a threshold as all the other ways the Democrats don’t determine the nomination (popular vote, number of states won, electoral college weight of states won, number of times your supporters go on TV to say you’re winning) but this is a significant milestone that will be marked as such.

Yet the Obama campaign seemed burned when word got out that Obama would in any sense be declaring "victory" tonight. With all the ruffled Democratic feathers these days, what can he say or do to set the right tone?

User Comments

Wow, another ObamaFest. What a surprise. I will get my beads and headband. And my wallet. He is the most egomaniac candidate in history. I am sure he will declare his birthday a national holiday at his coronation. Why vote? The media has decided Iowa decides our elections.

Karen,
I sure hope you are not one of those Republi-rats pretending to be a Clinton Supporter, because you sure make us real Democratic Supporters of Clinton look bad.
A real Democrat cannot be so negatiove towards a potential Democratic party Nominee.
Give it a rest “sweetie”.

I think it is time to boycott the media! If Obama does get the nomination I will only watch fox News (I never thought I would be saying that) because they are the only ones that have been fair in this election. OBAMA IS A JOKE!

He shouldn’t be giving a speech tonight in Iowa. That would be setting the right tone.
But in his infinate arrogance he just doesn’t get it.
All it will do is tick off women, Florida and Michigan, three things he needs to win in Nov.
But he isn’t going to win in NOV and tonight’s speech is just one more reason why.

By the way Rick just because the MSM says he is the nominee doesn’t mean he will be.
There are 800 votes that can change their minds before August.
If they want to win in Nov, they may just do that, no matter what they have said in public.
Obama is unelectable.

Early exit polls show 73% in Kentucy say that if Hillary is not the nominee than they will NOT support Obama. I also love how the Obama supporters say that if you say you will not support Obama than you are a pretend Republican. I am a True Hillary supporter and a Democrat BUT I will NEVER Support Obama! There is nothing that the Obama Kool-Aid drinkers can every say that will convince MOST Hillary supporters to vote for Obama. It is not that we like McCain, it is just that we will not support a MEDIA created FAKE.

ABC, CNN and MSNBC have been in love with Obama from day 1 and told the world she was done after every primary. How could anyone compete with that? Obama is NOTHING and stands for NOTHING. How did he get this far? The majority of the media has gone to Sh*t.

Ahh Rick, it’s good to see you in charge of this blog. Now, at least Tapper’s hounds won’t censor every other post; That being said, what’s up with all these Republicans spamming the Democratic primary blogs??? WTF??? I mean, I know your not happy with neo-lib McCain, but at least fein interest or act like the Republicans you are, rather than attack Democrats for being Democrats. Hell Hilliary’s more conservative than McCain for christ sake. Are you sure you guys have registered as Democrats, or are you a part of Rush Limbaugh’s overstated “Operation Chaos???” Any follower or person who takes their marching orders from Rupert Murdoch of FOX news or Limbaugh sure aint no Democrat!

Obama, media and his supporters already made Hillary’s supporters mad and they will vote against him in November. We will begin to switch to Fox news soon.

Never forget Obama’s spiritual leader of 20 years:
“The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people. … God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.” … “We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye.” … “We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost.” … “We started the AIDS virus …

You will soon bear witness to the powerful grassroots American Movemement of HOPE AND CHANGE.

Obama supporters do not get it, but Obama is too far left for most blue collar Americans to vote for.
Obama will say whatever he thinks will get him elected, but his actions speak much louder than his words– and his actions show that he went out of his way to listen to the anti-American and racist sermons of Radical Left-Wing Pastor Jeremiah Wright for the last 20 years.

Believe me, there are a lot of hardcore democrats that will not support Obama. There is such thing as party loyalty, but I think country loyalty ranks higher. When it comes to McCain vs Obama, many democrats feel Obama could do more damage to our country than McCain – and that should be quite telling. We are not closet republicans, we are sensible voters who don’t drink the Kool-Aid (no matter how trendy the flavor).
Regardless of what the media says, Hillary is not to be counted out. Her candidacy has a lot more support than many people realize.

Why are BHO supporters so rude and degrading?
When we believe that there is a better candidate for the country, we do not stick to the gun, voting blindly along party lines to gamble on the future for 4 years. If you have a better reason to persuade these people to vote for BHO, present you evidence, logically and convincingly, to win them back. These people are not rats, simply because they are planning on voting on the conscience. You have stolen the nomination from HRC, and you are now pushing her supporters complete over the edge.
We really wish all states have restrictions from selling alcohol on election day, so that there would have been less drunks who created this whole mess.

Mr Coffee the problem is he won’t win in Nov. Also the comments from Obama supporters like yourself right on up to Senators and mr Axelrod are extremely offensive and oftern mysoginistic.
he will never be POTUS and has manipulated this proces. his supporters are rabid and full of double standards and the DNC and democratic party has allowed the wrong person to probably win the nomination again, adding to a long list of losers, who all support obama by the way.
The irony of McGovern, Kerry, and Kennedy all supporting Obama is enough to make a strong women democrat leave the party over the travisty that has been this nomination process.

I have to laugh. A few people are polled at the exits and this is turned into some miraculous thing that is going to change people’s minds and overturn the votes of many, thinking democrats who voted for Senator Obama.
You may wish to paint him as fake, but I think he is the REAL candidate in the race. Not created on the coattails of a spouse or the remnants of a military career.
It is unfortunate that so many Clinton supporters are upset and angry at losing the nomination. But that’s politics. And it’s time the Clintons experienced it so they can lose that sense of entitlement that cost them the nomination as it bred poor campaign management with the inability to see past Super Tuesday.
You supposed Clintonistas would rather have four years of McBush with failed economic policies, continued casualties in Iraq, and warmongering with Iran and other countries. And a candidate (McBush) who does not appear capable of handling the office of the Presidency.
Not me. I’m voting for Obama. And if you vote for McBush, you should consider leaving the Democratic Party.

John did Tuskeege happen? Were American soldiers not put in trenches during world war II during atomic testing? Was FDR not aware of the fact that Pearl Harbor was to be attaced a week before the actual attack, even though we broke Japan’s codes? Did we not kill thousands (mostly civillians, otherwise known as “collateral damage”) in Falluja, just as the Israeli’s have killed thousands in the West Bank. (Including several college students who were peace activsts who just happened to be white AMERICANS!) Did Israel not attack the USS Liberty in international waters, and kill over 100 Americans in 1967? Here’s an easy one: Watch “In Lies We Trust” on Google, and watch the inventor of the Salk vaccine stae on tape how he stubled upon AIDS, and Cancer in monkeys they brought in from Africa. Watch him state this on tape, and tell me how Wright is incorrect in his statements to his congregation. A pastors obligation is to honor the truth. Notice anyone who is willing to speak the truth in America today is crucified. Be it by opposing the war(s), or exposing the lies of the mainstream media. When’s the last time that those in power were held accountable for the lies the used to take our wealth and power of us the American citizens? Not to mention the 935! lies that were used to get us into Iraq, and the new batch of lies that are getting us into IRAN…

Rick, blacks make up 12.5% of the population and live for the most part concentrated in a few red or blue states.
Women make up 52% of the electorate in every state.
I assure you we are angry, because of the way people like you in the MSM and the Obama campaign have viciously attacked Hillary as a woman in ways you would not a male candidate.
We are angry and we are taking our votes elsewhere. Many of us will simply write in Hillary Clinton.

Reason No. 1 not voting for Obama in November:
His action of abandoning the good people in W. V. and Kentucky, and those having similar backgrounds, simply because polls showed that he was behind, and simply because he believes they are less-educated and bitter and will not vote for him.

OK ‘Joh” First, the article you are trying to quote from was from the july 4th 2005 issue of “Time”. The issue was dedicated to separating myth from fact regarding Lincoln. The entire paragraph you attempt to condense to a single line is: “Still, as I look at his picture, it is the man and not the icon that speaks to me. I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator. As a law professor and civil rights lawyer and as an African American, I am fully aware of his limited views on race. Anyone who actually reads the Emancipation Proclamation knows it was more a military document than a clarion call for justice. Scholars tell us too that Lincoln wasn’t immune from political considerations and that his temperament could be indecisive and morose. But it is precisely those imperfections–and the painful self-awareness of those failings etched in every crease of his face and reflected in those haunted eyes–that make him so compelling. For when the time came to confront the greatest moral challenge this nation has ever faced, this all too human man did not pass the challenge on to future generations. He neither demonized the fathers and sons who did battle on the other side nor sought to diminish the terrible costs of his war. In the midst of slavery’s dark storm and the complexities of governing a house divided, he somehow kept his moral compass pointed firm and true.”
It has been long known that the emancipation proclimation was due as much to political pressures than his personal convictions.

“The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn’t. But she is a typical white person, who, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know, you know, there’s a reaction that’s been bred in our experiences that don’t go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way, and that’s just the nature of race in our society.”

NAt i have never said obama is a muslim, nor have i said half of the things you listed.
He was however raised by a muslim in a muslim country and went to muslim schools and his father is muslim.
These are all facts. His mother was a socialist atheist. This is also a fact.
He is neither a muslim nor a socialist atheist. he was however raised by them. This is relevent in a presidential campaign.
He is also a member of the intelligencia. The food stamps single mother story is a tretch of the imagination given that he went to the most exclusive private school in Hawaii and hung out at the University campaus with three parents who had PHD’s.

Reason No. 2 not voting for Obama in November:
His lack of basic understanding of national and world security, by measuring level of terrorist threat based on the size of a country or a group.
His comments that Iran and Venezuela are a less threat than the Soviet Union because of their sizes are incomprehensible. By his measure, Osama bin Ladin has no place and is thus no threat.
The difference between BHO and HRC on Iran: There will be no nukes in Iran under HRC presidency, but a BHO will HOPE to beg Iran not to use nuke attacking Israel.

Most of the people who are determined to vote for McCain, more than likely voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004. So, don’t be surprised when you hear so-called democrats say they won’t vote for Obama. As for me, I’m a true independent voter who will not vote for Hillary if she is the Nominee, not because I don’t like her, but because I just don’t trust her. I will vote democrat if it’s Obama though. This would be my 2nd time voting for a democrat. I don’t understand why those who are so-called democrats find it so difficult to lose an internal battle, especially when Clinton and Obama have plans that have only very small differences. I have tried hard to figure out why people feel such hatred. Unfortunately I keep coming back to one of two reason and that is sexism and racism. I don’t want to believe this about this country but I can find no other rational. All the arguments that people seem to put forth seem so weak; this weakness leads me back to the reasons I don’t want to face: Sexism and Racism. That to means that this country isn’t as far from the thinking of the 50′s and 60′s (though unobtrusively) as it would like to think it is. What we’ve seen during these elections is that America isn’t that different from many other countries, even worse in some cases. This is why I’m glad Obama has run for president… it has unmasked sum of the realities of American Society. I’m also glad this happened in the Democratic Party… if it had happened in the Republican Party, democrats would have been condemning them, self-righteously, as bigots. This time the democrats have to look within and ask themselves who are we really?
A proud Independent.

Yet the Obama campaign seemed burned when word got out that Obama would in any sense be declaring “victory” tonight. With all the ruffled Democratic feathers these days, what can he say or do to set the right tone?
My answer is he can say, he agrees to be Hillary’s vp and get the necessary experience before he runs for pres.

Of course, folks like new name and McBush just LOVE to take a comment and blow it up to meaning doomsday or terrible things generally.
McBush has been great at twisting comments and throwing them back as a way to deflect attention on his own shortcomings and flip-flopping.
Intelligent voters will see through this. Of course, we’ve elected Bush2 twice now, if you count the Supreme Court in 2000 as electing him!

Time for a reality check, if you’d vote for McCain over Obama, you are a republican and/or a racist. Because the issue divisions in this election are far to clear. Hillary has lost because she ran a poor campaign and did not win enough contests.
There are plenty of people that go with extremism regarding guns and religion because of bitterness and frustration. The most extreme ones form themselves up in compounds and in backwoods.
The less educated do not vote for Obama becaue they do not understand the complexity of the issues and are easily manipulated by spam emails, innuendos, and pandering promises. I’lll say it right now; if you think Obama is or ever has been a muslim, YOU ARE A LOW GRADE MORON AND FAR TO STUPID TO VOTE IN AN INFORMED MANNER. If you think he is Anti-American, racist, or sexist, YOU ARE A LOW GRADE MORON AND FAR TO STUPID TO VOTE IN AN INFORMED MANNER.
It is time for this country to grow up and its citizens to start behaving like they have a responsibility to the nation as a whole. It is simple, you want the war to continue or you don’t, you want better elementary and secondary education for our kids, or don’t, you want more access to college or you don’t. You want lower taxes and access to affordable health care for the working and middle class or your don’t. Choose.

His hypocrisy of equating the administration of the only 2-term democratic president Bill Clinton to the GW Bush administration, and framing him, who had been declared to be the first black president, to be a racist, simply for his political game of implicating his opponent, HRC.
In the same vein, BHO destroyed the Joe Biden candidacy on the very day when he announced his candidacy, for God Sake, for praising him to be articulate.

First of all, there is no definition of a “True Democrat.” What is a Democrat?
However, there is a definition of “American” who is a person holding citizenship of the United States.
But a potential first lady, who makes over three hundred grand a year being a PR person for a non-profit whose husband was long groomed by the Chicago Illinois party machine that’s probably the most corrupt in the country, keeps saying she would never be proud of America UNLESS she became the first lady.
What kind of attitude is that? If every wife who wishes to be the first lady but can’t says God damn America because her wish won’t come true, then what kind of country would we turn America into? America is not perfect, but nobody forces you to stay her. You are MOST welcome to invite yourself OUT if you don’t like it here.
To keep listening to “God damn the U.S. of KKK-A” for TWENTY years is just nuts. There isn’t any other way to put it. You will have to hate America to the guts and hope someone will come to blow it up totally to be able to tolerate that kind of hate.
No wonder Rev. Wright congratulated the perpetrators of 9/11 after then fact.

I am asolutely certain that sensible Americans of every race and shade of colour will not elect a junior senator with no experience to run our country at these troubles times. Most African Americans (except Michelle) cherish and love this country, and are worried about their future… They also know what the Clintons stand for, because they forever defended them and fought for all Americans to have a better life. Hillary Clinton has the vision, the policies and the strength to take us forward. And sensible people know that, and won’t sabotage their own future.

So Kentucky goes Clinton 65-29 in preliminary exit poll data.
That’s a win by 36% and climbing two weeks after obama was declared the winner by the MSM.
I guess some voters have some ideas of their own about who should be the Democratic nominee.
And it isn’t going away Rick.

Of the 52 Primaries and Caucauses that have been held, Obama has won 34 to Clinton’s 18 in popular vote and delegates.
Do all you Hillary supporters really think the media has that much influence??
I’m proud of the people for voicing their choice. That’s what I thought being a democrat was all about. Once the democrats have made a choice, I support whatever that is because I am a true Democrat.
Those of you against Obama need to really think about that. Obama will not ruin this country anymore than Bush has. No one will look at the fact he has to start off with all the mess Bush created. Pessimist (& racist) will just blame Obama for all our countries problems once he’s elected.

Mr. Obama will join the typical dems presidentail nominee club – high hypes and then losing in general elections.

Posted by: a new name | May 20, 2008, 7:34 pm 7:34 pm

I have a question which I would like to ask Hilary herself, but since that is unlikely I hope some of her supporters will answer on her behalf.
The question is this.
If you were to successfully argue your point and win the democratic nomination by virtue of “winning” the popular vote, and then in November you were to win the Electoral College but LOSE the popular vote, would you step aside and let John McCain take the Presidency. Yes or No?
If she answered yes then her argument about the popular vote would be valid. If she answered no then she should never mention it again.
Of course its all slightly moot when the only way you can claim to win the popular vote is by arguing that the votes of two states should be counted even though your rival only stood in one of them, and then ignoring the votes of millions of people who live in caucus States and whose individual vote is not included in the AP voting figures. The only way to really have a fair reflection of the popular vote would be to allow every caucus State a second vote to establish how many people wanted to vote for each candidate. I wonder how she would react if all those States were to vote again – the polls suggest it would turn a slim lead in the popular vote, into a deficit of nearly a hundred thousand.

Vote Hillary !
2008 May 13 Tue 11:11 EST ASCII Filename: DownHil1.txt
From: RAF Skees FritzYeCat@Yahoo.com Down Hill after Hillary
OK, Fellow Democrats:
The time is Now to remove our kid gloves, and start subjecting Barrack Obama to
the sort of embarassment which will be his downfall in a national Presidential
race against John McCain once that, by means of our “Liberal” media and a canny
Republican campaign plan, Both the SURE Democratic condenders, John Edwards and
Hillary Clinton, have been excluded from the Democratic nomination by Democrats
with an arrogant sense of selfrightousness and the Democratic Party Death Wish.
If Barack Obama were Nominated, the Democratic Party would see defection to the
Republican Party of a magnitude not seen since Lyndon Johnson turned the South
from a Democratic Preserve to a Republican Stronghold by enforcing the end of
Segregation, and bringing Affirmative Action, School Bussing, and Equal Rights.
We may see some more riots, and some assasinations, including maybe of Barrack,
which would then be followed by Mass Rioting and Murder throughout America.
This sobering possibility of itself ought to give all Democrats second thoughts
about whether America is now Ready, or will Ever be ready, for a President who
would be “Black”. When Barack played his Black card to overtake Hillary, right
then he disqualified himself for President of all The United States of America.
Even if Democrats don’t have second thoughts, Republicans Definitely Will, But
they will Never express their true concerns through our Liberal censored media.
Instead, voters both Democrat and Republican will counsel in the Privacy of The
Voting Booth in November, then as they leave they will Lie to the exit polls.
This will cause many a naiive Liberal to declare a Stolen Election: but in fact
the election will be reflective of the Real Political America in which we live.
So Democrats, This Is Your Final Wake-Up Call ! Get Smart, and Get Over It.
I myself can never forget the essential truth of the North Carolina Senatorial
races in which Harvy Gant, Afro-American, “Black” perhaps, in Two races, Never
stood a Chance against Jesse Helms, whom i detested, and yet our NC Democrats
would run him repeatedly as a sop to their Liberal conscience, so never Really
run someone else who would have been less ideal perhaps, but rather Elected.
I myself stood twice the chance of Harvy Gant, and i have No College Degrees.
The Democratic Party Still has a Death Wish, upon which Republicans can depend.
Starting at random, let’s examine Barack’s repudiation of his many years of
association with the Reverand Wright. Shows more than a little Disloyalty to
close associates, wouldn’t you say ? For Political Expediency, is this not ?
Looks just like Politics as Usual to me, and certainly Is the Low Moral Ground.
Do you suppose, that once proven a Flip-Flop on personal friendship, he might
be even More ready to Flip-Flop on various Campaign Promises once In Office and
no longer so directly responsable to the Voting UnBlack Majority of America ???
Or maybe Just as disloyal to the Black political agenda that draws Black vote ?
Or Who Knows What ? Perhaps four years of Barack Obama will be One Black Party.
A Balack-O-Rama, with vastly disproportunate numbers of “Black” appointments to
Government, a regular Cyclone Storm Surge of Affirmative Action takeover of our
American Government, with no recourse for the real population of America which
is loath to call itself Black despite the Slack Barack requirements, nor About
to try to join the NAACP just to collect such social advantages and benefits.
In the Southern States, it could bring back shades of Civil War Reconstruction.
No Matter that there is No One Alive Today who suffered Either End of Slavery.
No matter that TV is “going digital”: most Americans will rather turn off their
1/5
TVs than be drowned in the deluge of high definition moronic Racial Propaganda.
NAAPC ? Perhaps the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
will rename itself to NAAPC: the National Association for the Advancement of
People of Color ? I then am more qualified than most present members, i myself
qualifying as Technicolor: Iron blue eyes, yellow hair, brown mustache, bronze
face and arms with cream buttocks, red lips, etc. So Really, you MEANT Brown ?
The NAABP, and double meaning as Black People, but tacitly excluding Most other
Americans who are some shade or tint of brown, such as Asian Americans, (don’t
forget that Tiger Woods is predominantly an Asian American), American Indians,
(formerly known as Native Americans, etc), Mexican American Latinos, etc, etc.
Barack has already repudiated His Black Church Minister: next under Republican
pressure Hundreds of other Black Politicians will be forced to deny that they
are in any way influenced by the Black Churches that They attend. Many “Black”
Churches have Ministers who apply “Liberation Theology” in some way or another
Racially charged, and Radically vehement. “Liberation Theology” may be thought
of as Not Really Racist because it is Reverse-Racist: but Racism is Real Racism
whatever its Color, whenever We are forced to take it at the Receiving End.
Because “Blacks” even slackly defined, are one of the smaller minorities of our
entire American population, derrived from Asians, Africans, Latinos, Indians,
and Europeans, America as a whole Will NOT BE on the Receiving End of Racism.
Black Racism is no more Virtuous than White Racism or Nazi Racism: When the
African Hutu massacred nearly a Million African Tutsi, the murder was far more
brutal than Nazi gas chambers: victims hacked apart with machetes for instance.
The current Darfur genocide proves that Black Racism has no special exception,
and both these genocides are African upon African: thus no Other people whether
White, Red, Yellow, or Olive, should expect fundamentally better consideration.
The much sainted and celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King jr. Knew All about the
possible recriminations and backlash that would result if African Americans,
a permanent Minority in America, ever resorted to adopting Racist and Violent
methods learnt from their own mistreatment at the hands of the Majority, or
if they ever decided to exact vengence upon the Majority, “Vengence is Mine
Saith the Lord” is a quote right up there along with “I have a Dream…”.
Much of Black America dishonors King by failing to understand Him And America.
We All really want to avoid racism, but this Can Not be achieved Unilaterally
by any side in this conflict: Everyone must Want Racial Peace, Reconciliation,
and Full Understanding and Acceptance, else Integration Fails, then along with
it fails our Just and Democratic Government of a Free and Equal We The People.
It is my apprehension that the Reverand Wright is no exception to the rule when
we examine Black Ministers in America. (Wright as “Black” is actually a stretch
of terminology: he is lighter than Barack, who might be 1/4 Black African with
the rest European. Wright is perhaps 1/8 Black African, and all his vehemence
on behalf of Black America is perhaps Overcompensation for Himself being just
about as White as Colin Powell, John McCain, or Hillary Clinton ? I myself have
seen that such overcompensation is frequent: the famous singer Bob Marley who
wanted to fit in with the natives had a pale British father, and himself grew
brown hair and simply could not pass as Black without cosmetic aid: so he used
boot black on his hair to make it black, with a lot of sunshine to darken his
skin, which caused his death by carcinoma, the same cancer of which as his pale
British father died. Many young mulatto mothers with pale children go to some
considerable lengths in American Public Housing projects to ensure that their
children look “Black” enough to rationalize qualification for minority priority
for housing and benefits: “darken down” is a common phrase used to describe the
process. I watched one case in which the child was about six months old before
this darkening effort had sufficient effect for me to discern ANY Black genetic
heritage… but this made no difference whatsoever in the designation “Black”.)
2/5
Therefore, with Wright being the frequent case, I would estimate the percentage
of hard core Racist Blacks exceeds 90% of all the total American population of
Afro-Americans who insist that they are “Black”, just as 90% of all Americans
who emphasize that they are “White” would also be hard core Racist Whites.
But of Afro-Americans, “Blacks” make up the vast majority, so therefore i will
say with considerable confidence that over 70% of Afro-Americans are definitely
Black Racist, while of All Non-Afro Americans fewer than 30% declare themselves
to be “White”, therefore about 20% of All Non-Afro Americans are White Racist.
As you see, this is an inequitable distribution: whenever a Non-Afro meets an
Afro the odds are over Three Times as Great that the Non-Afro will meet an Afro
Racist, than the other way around, when an Afro meets a Non-Afro. But in a very
predictable way, Afros estimate that Over 50% of Americans are Racist and thus
Against Blacks, whereas in Fact, the real percentage is only one third as much.
So Most “Blacks” carry a much greater grudge and resentment than facts justify.
This greater resentment, combined with a lesser world perspective and rational
self control that might have come with a more complete balanced education than
most of these “Blacks” have actually been given, makes a deadly combination.
Ignorance, Fanaticism, Arrogance, Gangs, Criminality, Resentment, Sexual Abuse,
Violence, Drug Use, Sexual Perversion, Sexually Transmitted Disease, AIDS, etc,
are thoroughly interdependent and implicated in this entire interracial fiasco.
Even before assigning blame wherever or curing the evil, we must have Security.
My experience bears this out thoroughly: Neither I, nor Anyone I know, has Ever
“mugged” an Afro in my home town, yet i have been “mugged” by Afros Six times,
yet only Twice by Non-Afros, although the local population is mostly Non-Afro.
From one of the Non-Afro muggings i went to the hospital to have a 1 inch gash
on my cheek sutured, but no physical harm the other time. Of the Afro muggings
Three caused injuries, being twice hospitalised. The injuries that came closest
to killing me were head injuries that left me unconscious for Four hours, with
a skull fracture that affected my ability to balance without vertigo for years.
There was obvious evidence that these muggings were hate crimes By Afros rather
than Against Afros, the reverse of expected useage of such laws against Whites.
At the very Least, there was far more calloseness or unconcern about whether or
not the victim is seriously or fatally injured while taking little or no money.
A more recent mugging drove me to flee for my life from two Afro pursuers who
threatened an unknown degree of bodily injury, into freeway traffic, causing a
Less life threatening condition comprising a shattered foreleg that absolutely
required crutches for about two years, and thereafter to aid with my arthritis.
In Three unrelated incidents i have been threatened by Afros with Pistols, once
at the door of a downtown shop in which i worked. Also, several people whom i
personally know have been likewise threatened, and three of them shot, one was
a cab driver, murdered, blown away with a shotgun by an Afro. I personally know
No One who has been shot by a Non-Afro in this town. This is Racially Tragic.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Afros who make up a major portion of our
Prison Population are Many Times more dangerous than the free Afro population.
Is one to suppose that, during some National Balack-O-Rama, that No Affirmative
Action Policy for the Release of Afro Prison Inmates will be Promoted ? Not !
Not on your life ! Political debts shall require payoffs, thus outright thugs
and gangsters will be turned loose on the streets of America, while many Black
Officials, also self-deluded Liberals of many colors, shall pretend otherwise.
Use your common sense; consider All of Barack’s fatal political vulnerability.
Then do your Utmost to ensure that Hillary Clinton is our Democratic Winner !

From: RAF Skees FritzYeCat@Yahoo.com Down Hill after Hillary
I am by now quite disgusted by the litany of requests that Hillary Clinton step
aside and endorse the so presumably inevitable Obama nomination for President,
“for the good of the Democratic Party.” The spectacle of such sanctimony from
various crass politicians is vomitous past puking.
Just How does thusly ensuring the election of John McCain in November advance
our Democratic Party cause ?! Hillary is doing her level best to save us all
from our own stupidity, and therefore she must be encouraged beyond all limits.
It is Barrack Obama who must step aside for the benefit of Democracy, America,
and the World. Through little fault of his own, he jeopardises our existence.
Hillary knows what i know, from real street experience in everyday America, as
opposed to some idealistic America in the trendy minds of the University Elite.
Racism is here to stay in America, as deep and strong as ever, and the party
which ignores this will neither make racism go away, nor make itself electable.
Getting Elected is Job One for the Democratic Party: the Republican party Must
be assessed the maximum penalty for its evil behavior during Eight years of GW
Bush Republican MisAdministration of America and the World. Democratic agenda
which imperil this First Necessity must be deferred until later, Or We Fail !
Hillary and Barack are both attractive candidates for the Democratic Nomination
for Democratic Presidental Candidate for 2008: but only Hillary is Electable in
our National Election in which Republicans Also are empowered to vote: in which
the Republicans are without a doubt running the very, very strong John McCain.
Any Democrat who underestimates the power of John McCain to draw many Democrats
into the Republican camp must have Alzheimers: John McCain definitely does not.
Rather than take the sure path to a Democratic victory in 2008, Edward Kennedy
and many more wiley old politicians see the current weakness of the Republican
Party as the opportunity to push All the old social agenda and win: but they
overreach their power badly. Congress again will be deadlocked, there even may
be bloodshead and rioting resulting from overinflated glorified racial agenda.
Had we sanely chosen John Edwards and consolidated our position with the widest
possible electoral base, including some Republicans, we should have swept the
2008 elections on a sound Party Platform, then rappidly implemented fiscal and
diplomatic sanity, and then had years to further the traditional social agenda
in a measured and judicious fashion. Instead, revolution is in the air and too
many people are careless of just how many more shall bleed in the insurrection.
Apparently, Democrats are scrapping for a fight simply for the excitement, but
such entertainment shall prove exorbitantly costly to the Democratic party, the
future of our country, and to the World as a whole. They just couldn’t see the
way to appealing to the Adult Wing of America. Too, too bad. Instead, they have
followed the GW Bush lead to affrontry, confrontation, jingoistic ideology, and
divisive politics as just previously, rather than real change for a reasonably
certain constructive policy and reasonable collective goals world wide.
Must Renounce the accepted solution, policy of being Black, even as i have long
ago eschewed being White: in the True Spirit of Dr Martin Luther King. But many
act as though, despite all the politically correct trendy obligatory misquoted
verbal holliday respect, that they never really knew what King Meant: that the
policy some thought weak is in fact the strongest way to achieve reconciliation
but force does the opposite, which contradicts the spirit of his entire method.
This is the demographic reality of America, in which true Blacks, no matter how
the definition of Black is stretched and biased to inflate the statistics, have
always been a small minority in America, and always shall be. Therefore, the
1/2
people who would wear this demographic label with pride must also always hold
the moral high ground concerning human rights: the minority, although protected
by our Constitution and rightly so, must beware the fearsome power of All the
Rest who hold the Power of the Majority to Protect Itself against All perceived
threats to its security, also rightly protected by our Democratic Constitution.
That many views held by many citizens are often misguided is neither avoidable,
nor in the short span of a generation or three, amenable to reason nor emotion.
So we who work for the progress of All Humanity in the face of Religion, Greed,
War, Nationalism, Race, Disease, Ignorance, and Stupidity, must keep steadfast.
And we must be practical, seeing Politics as it Is, not as we would have it be.
Keep the Faith: Regardless keep the real path to success. Get Smart! A gram of
wisdom is worth a kilo of regret. A gram of prevention is worth a ton of cure.

I wish Obama had had the gonads and confidence to debate Hillary for the 4th time, one on one in Oregon. He was offered 4 different times and dates, but could never step up to the plate. Oregon undecideds (7%) could have seen them side by side when his inadequacies are magnified. Poor boy, can’t perform too well during debates. It would have been good practice for him leading up to McCain. Hillary could out debate both of them…but she won’t be given the opportunity.
All the talk is about Hillary supporters voting McCain in Nov….and they better believe it. It’s not sour grapes….it’s a complete different value system, but most of all….20 years in a church spewing hatred towards whites, jews, our country. And he never heard? Would no sooner disown?
Then when Wright came out to confirm what we knew, Obama kicks him to the curb. Wright said “he says what he has to as a politician”. Yeah.
By the way…I read another blogger say Clint Eastwood was campaigning in KY for Hillary….where is the news coverage for Hillary. BO gets 5 times the coverage or more.

120 out 120 counties in Kentucky – lost by BHO. It’s pathetic for a presumptive nominee.

What an arrogant f…claiming a victory party tonight in Iowa. Wow…the gall. I hope the numbers in Oregon are closer than expected. He surely won’t clobber her the way she did him in KY.

Neil, its not over until the delegates vote at convention.
If they want to win the white house in Nov, they will nominate Clinton.

Obama, not even close.

Come on, everone knew Hillary would win Kentucky, they are almost as clueless as WV is. Obama is the candidate and in a couple weeks Hillary will be telling her supporters to support Obama because mc-more-war would just be another bush term. That is just plain unacceptable. When voters compare Obame to mc-more-war they will realize it’s an easy choice. Obama 2008!!!

I’m donating again tonight…everytime she wins, I’ve been donating…regardless how this turns out…when any DEM with a brain knows she should be the nom to win…but they’re in this mess now, with BO’s unimportant wins in states that won’t matter in Nov.! She has won all the states needed for DEMS to take back the WH…..who really thinks the ultra liberal Obama appeals to the masses of this country? Middle America.

Debra – you are right on when you pointed out the MSM Obama lovefest – it makes me sick to see the degree of bias in the coverage. Obama’s EGO is so out of bounds. Obama’s speech today on CNN reinforced how naive he is on foreign policy issues and he will be ripped to shreds by McCain in the GE debates. Hillary Clinton’s multiple-personality campaign marches on, as Senator Clinton wins another bigot bowl, this time in Kentucky, after asking Democrats to accept Karl Rove’s “research” showing her superior electability. How can anyone who claims to be a Democrat and supports Hillary even consider voting for McCain? The man’s foreign policy is more neo-con than Bush’s…If you want more of the same empire building that we absolutely can’t afford, uh, then I guess he’s the man for you. Also, how can any blue-collar worker think that the man who wants to make Bush’s tax cuts to the rich permanent represents the interests of working class people? He opposes the education bill for veterans. You have to wonder who’s interests he is hoping to work for if he’s president. Oh, sorry, no you don’t. He’s already made it clear that he will take care of the haves, and to hell with the have nots. The Democratic party has a real chance of changing things if and only if we have a Democratic president. Wake up. McCain will drive this country further on a road I THOUGHT most people wanted to get off of…

-Fine, we don’t need you, we already replaced you with millions of new votes (right, that’s exactly why they are boughting Naral, there math doesn’t add up)

Good post, ifirehorse.]
I have to think that most of these folks are repugnants, trying to disrupt the democratic party and using this close primary contest and the intense feelings on both sides to do it.
I can only hope that the strong Clintonistas will have a relatively short mourning period before they realize that our country cannot afford four more years of John McBush, and thus WE MUST elect Senator Obama as our next president.
The repugnants reveal themselves pretty quickly for the most part, with their closet (sometimes not so closet) racism and personal attacks.

Her constant salespitch of hillaryclintondotcom has gotten so ludicrous that she almost admitted it tonight with the whole parrot thing. And even her supporters aren’t buying it — or they are already maxed out.

Why is it, exactly, that it is socially acceptable for African Americans to cast their vote simply on the basis of race whereas, it is wildly inappropriate and unacceptable for White Americans to do the same? Additionally, why is it that the media (ABC News included) make such a huge issue about the white vote; thus further exacerbating the race issue. Moreover, does anyone really stop to think that this is not about popularity or who looks the best, or has the right color of skin or is the right gender… this is about our future or lack thereof if we do not all become responsible Americans and do what is right!

Why I’m Turning Down Obama
Steve Corbett Reporting
corbett@wilknewsradio.com
Friday, May 16, 2008
“Operation Turndown” has deep roots in my own personal radical politics.
If Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee for president, I will not vote for him.
I will turn him down.
Judging from callers to “Corbett” yesterday, so will many other Democrats.
Democrats must follow their hearts and their heads.
I’m part of an impromptu movement born of outrage and frustration to which Democratic Party leaders need to pay very close attention. I’m a radical Democrat and proud of it.
Radical politics is one reason why I majored in “Community Development” at Penn State in 1970, after showing up there in September of 1969 with an open mind and a head loaded with ideas – not all of them good.
By November I was on the street in DuPont Circle in Washington, D.C., getting tear-gassed by National Guard troops during an anti-war protest. The next day I watched the attack on the Justice Department. The next year I watched my state cop father show up on my campus in riot gear.
I spent the next 30-some years developing my perspective and my honor as a daily newspaper columnist and broadcast commentator on television and radio.
I’ve learned from it all. I’m still learning.
And all these years later I still value my community development education and my degree from the counterculture school of hard knocks. The lessons of Kent State, My Lai, and the mean streets of Chicago under the first Mayor Richard Daley remain a part of my pledge of allegiance to real change I can believe in.
I’m not some bizarre social isolationist who’s stuck in the past, either. I value lasting friendships with a wide array of people who hold extremely different political beliefs.
I’m even friends with some conservative Republicans.
But in my heart I’m a radical Democrat.
Yet I’m a model citizen who advocates non-violence and negotiation.
Although I would have likely joined the Molly Maguires back when coal barons oppressed my Irish miner ancestors in Northeastern Pennsylvania and I publicly supported the IRA against British tyranny during my visits to Belfast during the war, I’ve evolved into a principled person who values the power of the ballot over the bullet.
That’s why I’ve decided not to vote for Barack Obama if he wins the Democratic nomination to run for president. I’m with Hillary Clinton until the end.
If she loses and Obama offers her a spot on the ticket as vice president, I’ll consider endorsing the ticket. Still, I offer no guarantees and encourage Hillary to decline the VP spot even if she’s offered the job.
Hillary is the strongest, best candidate. Hillary can beat John McCain. Hillary is my Democrat.
Even if party bosses tell me that we must get behind the nominee and that the nominee will be Obama, I have a choice. Even if family, friends and colleagues tell me I’m wrong, I have a choice. Even if you hate my decision, I have a choice.
And I will use it. To do otherwise would violate the principles I work hard to uphold. I’ve made a decision – a well-thought out, reasoned and rational decision.
Besides, I’ve been here before. I voted for Ralph Nader in 2000 and endured the scorn of others who blamed me for the Democratic loss. Don’t blame me, I said. Blame yourselves for not being able to convince enough people to vote for the Democrat.
The same argument holds true today.
Don’t blame me if Obama runs and loses because too many rogue Democrats, independents and Republicans do not have faith in his ability to lead during some very tough and trying times.
Ralph’s running again today.
So are many other candidates you’ve likely never heard of.
America is caught up in a two-party madness that offers voters too few options. The same well-heeled donors contribute cash to both parties and conspire for access that most Americans can’t even dream of having.
What we do have is a choice.
And I’ve made mine.
I’m turning down Obama.

Obama is ahead now in pledge delegates, he will have the nomination by the end of the week. Anyone that would vote Insane McCain over Obama just because Clinton didnt get the nomination, make sure you put your sons and husbands names on top of the draft list when Bush takes us to war in Iran, because he is planning on doing just that and to sustain 3 wars they will have to bring back the draft, so do us all a big favor and make sure your sons and husbands go first, and save the ones with some common sense for something that matters.

Posted by: Common Sense | May 20, 2008, 9:56 pm 9:56 pm

Sorry Common…I think Clinton will take it to the end. Many of her supporters are calling on her to do that. They believe in her that much.
But who the heck knows anymore…this all has been just CRAZY! And I thought things could not be more engrossing than they were in 2000!

there was a better sense and sentiment about clinton in NC than the final result was… so I think she can and should stay in… Obama now is at least obligated to offer her VP anythign less would not be permitted… but she can win as an independant based on the ’92 model I was there!

Posted by: dem38 | May 20, 2008, 10:02 pm 10:02 pm

I didn’t say she was or should drop out, only that if you choose to vote for McCain over Obama just because Clinton loses, then please put your husbands and sons up for the draft first, since Bush wants to go to war with yet a 3rd country and we dont have the soldiers to sustain a 3rd war, so they will have to bring back the draft, so just make sure yours go before others that had the common sense to vote against the wars and not for them.

Obama does not need to LET her be the VP…the Supers will make the final decision. I believe it was done in 56? Not sure though…my memory is bad.
The fact is, different voters turn out in the GE. More uneducated ones will vote, in very large numbers. This is not good for Obama. I do not know what the Dems are thinking…they must want to lose in November.

Raleigh Voter,
I never could stand him. He started acting a long time ago. Why do you think the Chicago Illinois party machine chose him to groom? He was the best actor they could ever dream of finding. Period. Harvard Law Review president? The quintessential Affirmative Action case.
When off script, things like 57 States (that’s excluding HI and AK where he hadn’t been to during the primary season), 10000 people killed in a Kansas tornado, knowing nothing about capital gains tax or the nuclear cleanup in Washington State.
Voters in the Dem primaries are much more liberal than voters in the GE. Likewise voters in the Rep primaries are much more conservative than in the GE (explaining why McCain had a hard time in the beginning). If 50% of Dem primary voters are liberal, they will only account for maybe a third come November. Which is why the supers as a congregate will be suicidal if they do not put Clinton at the top of the ticket.
Another point: look at the approval numbers for Dem-controled Congress (don’t forget they have both House and Senate) you might be shocked. Per Rasmussen just released today, it is
13% Good or Excellent
47% Poor
If I were McCain and Repulicans, I will be moderate as I have been many times before going against my own party for the greater good of ALL Americans. Then I will hit hard on Nancy Pelosi and the Dem elitists who are out of touch (13% number will not rebound much in the summer).
I will not raise taxes on the middle class, but I MAY be persuaded to let some of Bush tax cuts expire if the Dems agree to cut some of the pork and entitlements spending. Let’s tighten the belt together to cut the deficit.
Then I will allow those 527 groups replay “bitter” “cling to their religion and guns” comments all over. Then I will say “Mr. Obama may not be a card-carrying member of the ACLU, but based on his voting records he was voted the No. One liberal of the 100 U.S. Senators, even to the left of my friends John Kerry, Ted Kennedy and Bernie Sanders, the last of whom claims himself to be a socialist.
I will also remind voters how Mr. Obama will shut down the successful Federal monitoring of corruption in Teamsters. Also Mr. Obama has pledged up to $1,000,000,000,000 in new government spending while the Federal government has grown to its biggest size ever.
Also while he was in Illinois, he was on the record saying all individually possessed firearms are illegal because the Second Amendment ONLY gives well-regulated militia such as National Guardsmen COLLECTIVELY (but not individually) the right to bear arms.
He also was in support of permitting pregnant teens to cross state borders to have abortions. He opposes any restriction on abortion even late-term when the mother’s live is not in danger.
There are just too many things McCain and Republicans can do. ALL of them on top of Rev. Wright, Michelle Obama’s comments, Bill Ayers, Rezko, etc.
How will the Dems win the White House?

Posted by: Brent | May 20, 2008, 10:59 pm 10:59 pm

TS, when you vote McCain make sure either you(if male), your husband( if female), your sons, your nephews, go enlist so that when Bush starts a 3rd war in Iran, like he wants to do, so they have enough “volunteer” soldiers so they wont have to bring back the draft, OK? Thanks.

Angel,
I see you have the mental prowess of most Hillary supporters. Perhaps number one this wasn’t an EXIT poll, it was a phone poll of people that only “said” they voted. They could have been BSing the poller.
Number two there were only 1201 calls made out of about 900,000 people that voted. For the “Hillary Supporters” information, normal EXIT polls run into the 30-40% of all people that vote!
In a contest like Oregon the exit poll counts would have been up at least in the 300,000 range…
So much for your BS delusional Hillary biased B*** S***!

One person one vote: Hillary would have won the nomination by now. Look at the results of caucuses and primaries, then you know that caucuses are phony records of votes per person.
Comparison of Texas primary and caucas results
TEXAS PRIMARY
Candidate Votes Vote% P.Deleg
Clinton 1,459,814 51% 65
Obama 1,358,785 47% 61
4 points win of Clinton
A gain of 4 more delegates to Obama
TEXAS CAUCAS
Candidate Votes Vote% P.Deleg
Obama 23,918 56% 38
Clinton 18,620 44% 29
12 points loss of Clinton
A loss of 9 pledged delegates to Obama
Comparison of Washington Caucus and Primary:
WASHINGTON CAUCAS
Candidate Votes Vote% P.Deleg
Obama 21,629 68% 59
Clinton 9,992 31% 31
37 points win of Obama
WASHINGTON PRIMARY
Candidate Votes Vote% P.Deleg
Obama 339,166 51%
Clinton 303,151 46%
6 points win of Obama
Comparison of Alaska and Virginia
Alaska
Candidate Votes Vote% P.Deleg
Obama 6,674 75% 9
Clinton 2,194 25% 4
A win of 4,480 votes
A win of 5 pledged delegates
West Virginia
Candidate Votes Vote% P.Deleg
Clinton 239,298 67% 20
Obama 91,747 26% 8
A win of 147551 votes
A win of 12 pledged delegates
BO’s lead in pledged delegate counts are misrepresentation of votes on general election which is more like primary than caucuses.
Hillary 08; the rightful nominee.

Go check it yourself!
Popular Vote Total
Obama Clinton
16,576,522 49.0% 16,158,717 47.8%
These numbers are without Florida, Michigan (that do not count!) and Oregon because all the numbers aren’t in yet there….

Go Obama!

Posted by: Davis | May 21, 2008, 12:38 am 12:38 am

they will count Florida and Mi as cerified there is no other way.. the only way GW Bush won in 2000 was that K Harris certified the vote before all the votes were counted you will have to compromise on this the new delegate total is 2210 no negotiation and the 220 superdelegates at that point will decide it and they dont have to go with Obama that is a fact you cant say you way is what will happenb you dont have any power more than the rest of us so just back off!

Posted by: staniam | May 21, 2008, 12:44 am 12:44 am

Staniam,
They are not going to count Florida and Michigan. First Obama wasn’t even on the ballot in that state fool. Plus “uncommitted” took almost 50% of that state, that means “I don’t want Hillary” was 50%!!!
Second Obama didn’t campaign in Florida, neither did Hillary…
Unfortunately at that early date no one in Florida even knew who Obama was. However, Hillary was running on the coat tails (or blue stained dress) of the Clinton brand. That is the only reason she beat him there….
They will seat the delegates alright, 50/50 and Hillary won’t get anything!
Read it and weep you delusional fool..
Go drink some more Clinton Koolaid, I hear that stuff is real powerful and makes you dumb as a rock!

Posted by: Davis | May 21, 2008, 12:52 am 12:52 am

OK, someone answer me this please,
The Dem primary is based on delegate count right?
and some states have caucuses where no popular vote is reported, so how do you count the states without a popular vote?
Or do they get discarded so the popular vote can be counted in MI and FL?

Posted by: Common Sense | May 21, 2008, 12:56 am 12:56 am

nope the primary season wont be settled then because CLinton wont agree to have them counted 50/50 so you will wait till auguest for a nominee because neither can get the 2210 that are required that is the new number you cannot despute it!

well actually its Clinton that using the popular vote math not Obama, he is using the delegate math, so how does she plan on counting caucus states when they dont have a popular vote, if she wants them all to count then shouldnt the caucus states have their popular votes reported or is the popular vote not in her favor if she does that?

Posted by: Common Sense | May 21, 2008, 1:06 am 1:06 am

Staniam,
You stupid fool, common sense is putting forth a pro-Obama question to you Hillary Koolaid drinkers…
Don’t tell me you don’t see that!!
Man you are such a waste of time Staniam. It isn’t even any fun beating you up, because you are as dumb as a rock!
Any Hillary bots still here have half a brain and want to discuss or argue any points??

Posted by: Davis | May 21, 2008, 1:07 am 1:07 am

Davis
you are the fool to think that Hillary supporters will support Obama… the caucus states only had 1 million total votes cast out of 36 million before the last twoo weeks primaries thats not a fair representation and you will not impugn my integrrity just because you are a rich elitist granola wingnut

Posted by: staniam | May 21, 2008, 1:13 am 1:13 am

so if Obama won those Caucus states by enough of a margin it wouldnt be in Clintons favor to have the caucus states counted, so she wants to disenfranchise those states so the popular vote counts in her favor.

Posted by: Common Sense | May 21, 2008, 1:15 am 1:15 am

they do have popular votes in caucues theree were 1 million total caucus votes that is a fact you will not influence any clinton people just go away if you think you can!

Posted by: staniam | May 21, 2008, 1:16 am 1:16 am

when all votes in all states are counted Clinton will have the popular vote they said that months ago but Obama said no I dont think thats fair we will do Mi and Fl 50/50 but who is he to dictate he cant !

Posted by: staniam | May 21, 2008, 1:18 am 1:18 am

I could care less about influencing you I am just trying to make some kind of sense out of Clintons math in regards to the popular votes especially since the popular vote isnt supposed to count in the primary only the delegates.

This is all Hilary’s fault. Her selfishness and deceit is pulling the party apart. She lost. We all know this. Obama was not on the ballot in Michigan. Michigan and Florida broke the rules so they will not count. Hilary has no possible way to catch up to Obama. As Americans we should respect the voices that have spoken and the outcome to the nomination. At this point she is doing more harm to the Democratic Party than Mccain and she doesn’t care.

Posted by: C man | May 21, 2008, 1:22 am 1:22 am

And since Clinton supporters are defecting enmass the last few weeks and there are only about 25% of those remaining saying they will vote McCain if she loses, that isnt a huge number like you would like everyone to believe, and out of that 25% I betting probably 10% of those are actually REP voters that wouldnt have voted for her in Nov anyway so that drops it down to about 15%, which if she keeps fighting a dead race she will lose even more so by the time this is over I would say it will be more like 5% and those 5% can vote for McCain and it wont change the outcome of the GE.

Angel,
It took you an hour to go find that load of BS?
Let me educate you and your fellow Clinton Koolaid drinkers. EXIT POLLS are done by big polling companies and in big states sometimes employ over a thousand people.
Do you think CNN is the only one that does exit polls? Ha! Try not only all the networks NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, FOX, and others, plus Gallup Polling and the other polling companies.
Guess what? They also share data between each other for a price. Your sample numbers are just BS. Maybe that is how many people CNN stops and asks the in-depth questions to. I have seen them at my polling place for the past 24 years when I have been voting. They ask everyone who comes out who they voted for and a smaller number “that agree” to the more in-depth poll.
Finnally the point was that your assumptions from the CNN poll in Oregon tonight were BS as it wan’t a true exit poll of real voters coming out of a “REAL Polling Place.” Just some random phone calls to people that may or may not have voted! With no real voting area designations either.
Angel, Go drink some more Clinton Koolaid, as you aren’t completely dumb as a rock yet! At least you go out and do a little inaccurate research…
Obama 08!

Well dont back down but I wasnt commenting on OR alone, thats nationwide and her supporters are abandoning ship daily, so you can take your 5% to the voting booths and vote Insane McCain and Obama will still win the GE. And WV is a REP state in Nov anyway same as KY so dont let those numbers fool you, the DEM states will vote the nominee, and that will be Obama.

common sense the national polls are snapshots in every individual exit poll that has come out recently a majority of clinton people said they wont vote for Obama and they wont go back to him in the GE period… how many times do we have to say it you will have to win with rich elitits and blacks period! Clinton doesnt need the black vote she will go independant…. I know you are worried or you wouldnt be arguing Im right and you are wrong if you disagree you can just leave!

I don’t care about KKKentucky. It doesn’t mean anything. Heck I don’t think that state has ever voted Democrat. So what is your point?
Do you even know that the GE is decided by Electoral votes? It is winner take all of the Electoral votes in the state.
Don’t you remember back in 2000? Gore won the popular vote, where did that get him. You better open up your civics book and see how our election system in the United States works….

It’s time, perhaps, for both candidates to attack McCain. The better competition would be to see who can attack McCain the most productively so that the Democrats can win in the Fall. You think?

Posted by: ChayaFradle | May 21, 2008, 6:01 am 6:01 am

What I don’t understand is why Hillary Clinton is getting away with changing the rules as she goes along, just so she can win.
1. SIXTEEN months ago, Hillary Clinton, along with all the other 8 candidates running for the democratic nomination, ALL OF THEM, signed a contract which said that because they had broke party rules and decided to move up their primary voting date, that Florida, and Michigan WOULD NOT COUNT.
BUT when Hillary started losing the race, she STARTED TO LIE. She started ACTING as though she had not actually signed a contract which she had. Hillary was even confronted with her lies over, and over on television show, after televison show. Hillary Clinton even said out of her own mouth that Florida, and Michigan votes would not matter anyway!
2. So not only is Hillary trying to get the votes in Florida, and Michigan counted, and added to her total (becasue she needs them to win), Hillary also want to EXCLUDE all the votes that were cast in states which had caucases. She wants to do this now because Obama won most of the caucas states. So now Hillary does not want the votes cast by voters in the caucus states counted.
(There goes Hillary’s whole argument that she wants every vote to count. the fact is that Hillary only seems tto want the votes in the states she won to count. So if you live in a caucus state, Hillary DOES NOT think ANY of your votes should count) Such hypocrisy!
3. Before she even started running for president, Hillary and all the other candidates knew that the PLEDGED DELEGATES, which are earned from each state, would be the number used to determine the winner of the nomination, BUT NOW THAT SHE IS LOSING, Hillary is saying that she will not accept that PLEDGED DELEGATE NUMBER. Now that Hillary is losing, she wants the popular vote number to be used to determine who wins. (And she wants it to be the popular votes because she also wants to add the votes from Florida and Michigan (even though she signed a contract 16 months ago saying that these 2 states would do not count).
IS THIS THE TYPE OF MANIPULATION, AND DISHONESTY WE CAN EXPECT FROM HILLARY AS PRESIDENT. SHE HAS ALREADY SHOWN SHE HAS NO RESPECT FOR RULES, OR CONTRACTS.
WATCHING HILLARY LIE, AND CHANGE THE RULES WHENEVER SHE FEELS LIKE IT, SHOW THAT SHE IS A VERY MANIPULATIVE, AND DECEPTIVE PERSON. AND CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO KEEP HER WORD!
AND IT IS THESE PERSONALITY TRAITS OF HILLARY’S THAT SCARES ME, AND DISGUSTS ME, THE MOST ABOUT HILLARY!!!!

The DNC with Dean, Pelosi and Reid at the helm have put the party in a no win win position. If Obama doesn’t get the nomination you would take the black vote away in the general. Obama gets the nomination and all the swing states with the white vote don’t go his way.
The loss of either voting block spells doom for the party and you can lay it right on Deans lap. At this stage of the election most people have made up their minds on who they will vote for. Even if a small portion of the people here say they won’t vote for Obama, it is enough to swing a state like Oh, Ky, Fla or Pa.
Obama has an uphill struggle to change peoples mind to vote for him. While both Obama and Clinton say they both have the same political agenda on health care, war and the economy, the Clinton supporters will still not vote for him and that is a deal breaker.
The radical left of the party must ask themselves just what is it that the other HALF of the party find objection to with Obama? You just can’t call everyone racist that doesn’t want to vote for him, there has got to be something else where he is not connecting.
It is a sad state of affairs the democrats have put themselves in and now it comes down to nominating someone who has already lost the GE.

Posted by: Average Joe | May 21, 2008, 8:34 am 8:34 am

Good night, Ms. Clinton. Now that Mr. Obama has sealed the pledged delegates majority, there is officially no more chance for you. The Democratic Party has never denied the nomination to any candidate who achieved the pledged delegate majority. Moreover, there is simply no way that the superdelegates will overturn that now. You’ve run a great race, but perhaps it’s time to start having a united party instead of a divided one. Stay in as long as you want, but despite any amount of spin now, it’s over.

Posted by: J. T. Bigglesworth | May 21, 2008, 8:52 am 8:52 am

I’m an African-American and I can clearly see how strategic Obama has been with the race card. He comes out in the beginning excluding the fact that he was running a platform based on becoming the first African-American President, but then when it was convienent for him in South Carolina he and his campaign staff pulled it big time. If you think back to the debate in S.C. when they asked Barack Obama did he consider Bill Clinton the first Black President. Barack should have been insulted to answer such a dumb question, but what does he do, he tries to be hip and says, “we’ll have to see Bill dance before we can declare him a brother”. The moderators laughed, the mostly African-American audience laughed and so did the Media. No one was offended. Now that was an example of the race card right there, but did CNN, MSNBC, FOX, or ABC hype that? HELL NO!
Hillary Clinton has been nothing but a fighter in this campaign and she proves that she is more capable than Barack is any day!

We got to sit and listen to Hillary Clinton’s entire speech and hear her not concede a race she has obviously lost and when Barack Obama came on, we got to hear a few minutes of his speech only to have it interrupted by commentators talking over him to discuss Clinton’s speech!!! Then you cut away to show us again how she didn’t concede!!! I just can’t believe it. I had to turn the channel to be able to hear the next President of the United States speak.
