Clinton Issues Post-Primary Schedule (Yes, Post-Primary Schedule)

ABC News’ Eloise Harper Reports: The press traveling with Sen. Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign received an email Thursday afternoon informing reporters they could sign up for travel through June 6 on the campaign website.

Given the speculation surrounding plausible outcomes from this Saturday’s DNC Meeting and the final Democratic primaries on June 3, many confused looks passed between reporters on the back of the press bus.

When asked for comment, Clinton spokesman Jay Carson looked past Tuesday’s primaries to the general election.

"There are a lot of places for us to go between June 4 and November," Carson said.

Well, as I have been saying all along, Hillary and Bill would rather destroy the party than exit graciously. Gracious exits have never been there strong suit.
However, destroying the democratic party is a new high or low…for even them. But I am somewhat resigned to that. If she cripples Senator Obama as she has tried to do and continues to cripple him so that he loses, she will destroy any legacy the Clinton name has as well as ensure that she goes down in history as a bitter, yes I said bitter, vindictive woman that the Republicans have always said her to be and that the dems who know her admit privately.
And the backlash of voters who join together to defeat her will be huge. If the AA candidate who plays by the rules is denied the nomination because of her lack of respect for the rules she agreed to, the cost to her will be enormous. The cost to the party will be the White House and its future survival.

if the shoe was on obama, he would not quit. maybe you should find out how he actually got into office in chicago. he played very dirty and probably alot worse then clinton. go to cnn polotics and read about “obama plays hardball polotics in chicago”. very interesting and it is not a lopsided article either.

Posted by: JENNIFER | May 29, 2008, 2:28 pm 2:28 pm

why is it that when clinton was ahead with the delegates that obama said that the popular vote should stand and that the delegates should not overturn the people’s choice. when did obama flip flop, oh wait he has lied all along.

Posted by: JENNIFER | May 29, 2008, 2:31 pm 2:31 pm

hmmm never actually thought of it that way, but maybe the plan is not because she thinks she will continue to campaign for herself but for obama
interesting…
if she wins she continues on with her itinerary
if she loses she continues on with her itinerary but for obama…
smart, i like it…
i shouldnt have rushed to judgment, i was looking at it one sided as if this would just be about her… but yea… could be her campaigning for obama
anyone knwo what the stops are?

Posted by: bhrandon | May 29, 2008, 2:34 pm 2:34 pm

Nope.
Obama never said that. When Clinton was ahead in the delegate race she said exactly what Obama is saying today, it’s a delegate race.
When it seemed the delegate race was out of reach. It was the “big” states that mattered. Obama won some big states. It’s the electoral vote. That arguement wasn’t flying it’s now the popular vote.
A mistake? Yes, b/c Obama has the popular. No matter how she tries the spin it the SDs aren’t buying it.

Posted by: Vanessa | May 29, 2008, 2:37 pm 2:37 pm

Regarding Florida and Michigan:
OBAMA is insistent the primary results are invalid since the two states failed to follow party rules and the rules are the rules. NO THE STATES DID NOT, THE PEOPLE DID NOT, SOME OFFICIALS DID, SO PUNISH AN ENTIRE STATE AND MAKE THE VOTING UNDEMOCRATIC. Of couse OBAMA doesn’t want Florida “for sure” because he lost and you know what come November no one in Florida will vote for him either!!!! Isn’t this a democracy anymore?

Posted by: Anne | May 29, 2008, 2:37 pm 2:37 pm

anne,
he has stated they will be seated, he wants to give hillary her fair share of delegates, hes even offering to be even more generous
so…
your argument is failure
PS
i think he will have some work to do in florida
but lets face it, hell get votes unless hillary is counting them like shes coutning votes in michigan
anyway,
the election is far more important then a primary… the economy, the environment, the war…
all these things will drive people to the polls
will some spiteful peopel refuse to back obama because they are jaded
sure
will more peopel look past this and know that the truth is that their party leaders screwed them and that they can have their voices heard in the general?
of course
but like i said obama will have major work to do down there

CAUGHT LYING AGIAN: According to this FEC report, Hillary raised only 4.3 million in the 48 hours following Pennsylvania. She raised 1.7 mil on April 23rd and 2.6 mil on April 24th. That’s 5.7 million shy of her claim that she raised 10 million in the first 24 hours following that state’s primary.

The Clinton legacy is on the line.
If Hillary fights to the convention, she can guarantee Bill will be the only Democratic Party president from 1981-2012.
If Hillary leaves the week of the last primary, Obama will easily defeat McCain.
It’s clear, Hillary can not let Obama become president. It must be a Clinton or no Democrat.

Posted by: Debbie | May 29, 2008, 2:56 pm 2:56 pm

She’s planning on storming the podium in January to tackle him and try to make Justice Roberts swear HER in instead!
And to you Florida whiners: Look people, YOU voted in the morons who moved the primary and caused the problems. Many of these morons have been in the statehouse since 2000. So vote them out. Otherwise, too bad–so sad. Stop blaming Obama, it makes you look childish beyond belief.

Hillary Clinton lunacy costs Obama the White House in 2008.

On to the convention Hillary! I keep hoping the DNC will wake up, but it’s not happening I guess.
“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”
I can’t believe it, this country is about to be fooled a third time by nominating another unqualified but personable candidate. And for all of those who keep saying the Clinton’s are destroying the Democratic Party, it has destroyed itself and a lot of lifelong Democrats are leaving it in record numbers. Hope all of the young college voters are as committed in the coming years as they were in the caucuses this year…only time will tell.

She is planning on ignoring the outcome of the meeting on Saturday and will continue to campaign until August. At least that is what it looks like from here. Or she is going to run as an Independent candidate, against Nadar.
Doing this, she could reek havoc in Nov.
Not advocating her, by any means, just observing the working of the ‘demented’ mind.

No time to waste. Its time to take it seriously!

Hillary will not be forcing her way through the convention. She is 200 delegates behind Obama. It’s over. Acceptance!
He gets to the magic number in 44 delegates… She has 245 to go…. ain’t gonna happen.

Does dwc realize that his/her equation is entirely backwards, and that Democratic registrations are up to their highest levels in many cycles — tripling in many cases the surge in registrations in 2004 — and that a higher percentage of Americans identify themselves as Democrats than in recent memory? According to Rasmussen on May 3, “The Democrats now have the largest partisan advantage over the Republicans since Rasmussen Reports began tracking this data on a monthly basis nearly six years ago. During the month of April, 41.4% of Americans considered themselves to be Democrats. Just 31.4% said they were Republicans and 27.2% were not affiliated with either major party…Prior to February of this year, neither party had ever reached the 39% level of support.”

Jamfan True. Clinton supporters make up about 20% of those identified Democrats so even if the Dems lost 5%
of the Dems due to jumping ship to McCain with about an estimated about 27% independents out there , unless all those indpendents go Democratic which is unlikely they all would, it could mean another Republican White House.

With all due respect to Mrs. Clinton, she can go on and on but she is only dividing the party more and more. Pat Buchanan’s dream is coming true, he’s been hoping for protests by the Democratic voters all year.
IT is clear, she agreed that FL and MI would not be seated. They broke the rules and she agreed to the punishment. Now she needs them and has changes her mind. You cannot change the rules again to fit your needs, especially, if it may be favorable to one candidate over the other. The DNC will look soft and like flip floppers.

It doesn’t matter what the DNC or the “StuperDelegates” decide, Hillary still wins. If she’s not the nominee, 17 million of her supporters will either vote for McCain or stay at home. They will do everything in their power to keep Obama from being elected. No matter how much the Obamabots don’t like to admit it, Obama can not win in November without the help of Clinton supporters…which he won’t have. Obama, the DNC, and the “StuperDelegates” have destroyed the Dems this election year…they have no one to blame but themselves. Obama, might as well start writing his concessions speech…ooops…I forgot, he doesn’t know how to write…..to the President elect, John McCain.

I know a lot of Hillary supporters that are smarter then that. A number of them have kids in the military and thier lives are more important then anything. Anyone that votes for McCain because their candidate Hillary lost is simply stupid. As a very stron Obama supporter, there was never a doubt in my mind that if he wasnt the nominee I would still vote for the Democratic nominee no matter what. This country is what’s important, nothing else.

Posted by: Mack | May 29, 2008, 3:55 pm 3:55 pm

She’s not going to stop unless, and until, EVERY superdelegate now backing her publicly switches to Obama. I really think that’s what it’s going to take.
The delegate math clearly doesn’t matter to her. The rules of the nominating process clearly don’t matter to her. Reality clearly doesn’t matter to her. I can honestly envision a scenario where, during Obama’s presidential inauguration, Clinton will have supporters protesting outside that she won the popular vote and should’ve been the nominee. It’s rubber room time for Hillary.
And if she decides to run as an Independent she’ll get the votes of about 3 million bitter ’60s-generation feminists and a handful of Appalachian racists, and no one else. One thing that the polls and primary results from two months ago aren’t revealing is how many people who voted for Clinton back then have come to deeply regret their votes. She’s made a terrible spectacle of herself since then, and has shown that she’ll put her own ambitions and sense of entitlement over the good of the party.
It’s time to put the Clintons out to pasture and move the Democratic party beyond them into a brighter future.

Posted by: R. Squibbs | May 29, 2008, 3:56 pm 3:56 pm

Why is it so hard for Hillary to abide by rules, she agreed to? Why is the caucus system of electing a primary candidate so undemocractic this time? Why is the popular vote the one that should count this time?
I think it’s because the rules, the traditions are not in “her” favor. I am praying, that Hillary will stop this never ending spin cycle. She lost. Fair & Square. With all her experience in this politcal game, you would think she would know better.
Hillary is acting like the kid in the Mall who is kicking and screaming because she can’t have the toy she wanted. She’s having a childish temper tantrum, the Democratic party is like the parent of that child, wanting to smack the sh*t out of her, but people are watching, and might perceive it as abuse. The child knows this so she screams and kicks even louder. My thoughtsare sometimes, you can’t wait until you get her home, it doesn’t matter if people think you are being mean. This child needs to be spanked and sent to her room, until mid-November.

Hillary must realize no matter what she does
…there is a higher power, mighter, more forceful and stronger than her. Whatever she does…she cannot penetrate it. Hopefully, one day she will deal with this.
When all is said and done…Hillary will have to “grieve” before she can become actively involved in Obama’s campaign against ” McGranddaddy.” At this time, it is difficult for her to believe the sense of “entitlement,” she once thought she possessed, in non-existent. Afterall…she and the good “Slick Willy,” planned this decades ago…prior to coming to NYC. Their strategy for winning (did not) in anyway, include an African American man, with an odd name; and who was totally unknown…stepping in and changes their plans. My oh my! This has blown their ever-loving minds…they are still reeling from it! What a major SHOCKER for the “Clinton Clan.”
Well Hillary, I just have one little message for ya:
The show is O-V-E-R! The curtains have closed…the music has stopped…the audience has departed. It is now time for you to step off the stage–gracefully and return, not to NYC, but Arkansas (I say Arkansas because it appears you may catch hell in “Harlem” with the Black folks waiting for your return, from what I’ve read).
And please. Whatever you do. NO MORE DRAMA!!!
Wherever you do decide to go…be blessed and remember always: “What goes around…always comes around.” One does “reap what one sows.”
Good Luck to you!

And now she wants to,

Should stop this show,
Superdelegates endorse,
And make her just go!

I don’t get it. I honestly can’t understand why people think Hillary can get the job done…she totally failed at her health care initiative because she is UNABLE TO WORK WITH OTHERS. Her previous plan had a lot of merit, but if the presenter does not possess the ability to compromise, then it will not pass!
While I can appreciate someone being stubborn, I cannot watch it happen at the expense of the party. This country that she loves so much – that SHE says can’t handle another 4 years of McSame -and she is willing to flush it down the toilet because she can’t win.
And to everyone who says Obama can’t close the deal – neither can Hillary. No one has. They both have great platforms and ideas. People are split and one side is going to be upset. You can’t reward FL and MI for their behavior, but you can’t ignore them either. However, they cannot have the power to change the results of the election b/c they broke the rules and hundreds of thousands of people didn’t vote because they knew it would not count.

Posted by: Mindy | May 29, 2008, 4:03 pm 4:03 pm

I believe even if Obama gave in to Clinton and gave her the votes in MI and FL along with the delegates (which would be a farce)she would find some other new reason to stay in the race to the convention. Millions of Americans are scratching there heads trying to figure out why in the world Hillary, yes 2nd place Hillary, is allowed to run around crazy-like and never concede. I never ONCE saw her apologize for anything thsi campaign season so if she can’t even do that she won’t ever concede.

HILLARY FANS,
Sorry, but it is really over now!!
Rupert Murdoch’s not-quite-but-almost endorsement of Barack Obama for president.
The founder — and defender — of Fox News said he expected Obama to win in a landslide, citing widespread unhappiness with the current administration and his disenchantment with Republican contender John McCain.
Murdoch added that after a long career in the Senate, McCain had been forced to compromise too much and doesn’t stand for much. Murdoch even nonchalantly owned up to influencing the New York Post to back Obama in the New York primary.
So all of you Hillary people, where is your phony “elect ability” argument now???
Obama 08!!! In a LANDSLIDE!!!

I am from Michigan….i voted for Hillary in the primary. Mostly because Obama was not on ballot and he didn’t campaign here. Hillary is clearly better than any right wing tool……but the honest answer is ….now after seeing the campaign and hearing Obama. I would not vote for her again. So all of you that want to make a fake primary more than that are crazy. How can you claim a primary is valid and binding when the primary canadates did not go there….and lets be honest….Hillary actively working a state has not always been a lock ffor her. As manay mistakes as she has made along the way …..especially the way she has jumped into the neo con mud…..I doubt she could pull that nymber again. So here I am, a living exapmle of how a vote in that primary should not be counted.
P.S. Hillarys behavior has moved me from a supporter and voting for her…..to working an Obama booth at my local community street fair…..

Could it be that they are worried over Paul vs Clinton criminal trial? It starts according to the the California Courts after the general elections. The Clintons need a pardon and the only way they will get a pardon is if Hillary is Prez otherwise perhaps jail time.

The ‘won’t vote for Obama’ movement was just getting started and needed a catalyst like NARAL to coalesce.
More websites have popped up in addition to petitions pledging not to vote for Obama.
The DNC and Obama have treated Hillary Clinton with amazing disrespect. Women have had it. And, their fathers, husbands, and sons agree.
There won’t be any backing off.
Hillary is ahead in the popular vote and in the electoral votes.
The delegates are based on a corrupt caucus system and are further corrupted by Obama’s thugs going in and pushing, blocking, throwing out, and threatening voters.
TX is a prime example of some of this mayhem. Hillary won the legitimate Texas primary, but “somehow” lost the delegates. Delegates are unjust, corrupt, and meaningless.
If Hillary is denied the nomination we would rather put up with 4 years of McCain, who will have his hands tied by a Democratic Congress, than put up with a corrupt, lying, charlatan who has no experience whatsoever.
And, believe me, WE MEAN IT.

Do you not understand that Fla and Mich moved up their primary dates when they were told that they were be penalized if they did this. They did it anyway, and the DNC punished them. All of the candidates signed off on this (including Mrs Clinton). She just decided to renige on her promise when she saw that she was losing

Posted by: DJ | May 29, 2008, 5:19 pm 5:19 pm

Dave by allowing those 2 states popular votes to be included ( I DID NOT SAY DELEGATES)as the Clinton campaign wants to do it disenfranchises every state that had a caucus, that type of popular vote counting is not fair, it does not do as that campaign says and “COUNT EVERY VOTE”, 11 states without a popular vote, How is that “counting every vote”?

“Regarding Florida and Michigan:
OBAMA is insistent the primary results are invalid since the two states failed to follow party rules and the rules are the rules. NO THE STATES DID NOT, THE PEOPLE DID NOT, SOME OFFICIALS DID, SO PUNISH AN ENTIRE STATE AND MAKE THE VOTING UNDEMOCRATIC. Of couse OBAMA doesn’t want Florida “for sure” because he lost and you know what come November no one in Florida will vote for him either!!!! Isn’t this a democracy anymore?”
UMMMMMMMMMM………… This isn’t Obama’s insistence: “We the People” of these states elected our officials under our republican democracy to make decisions on our behalf, so “technically,” the voters of MI and FL *did* decide to break the rules. The rules were made in advance, both states agreed to them in advance, and both states deliberately broke the rules after the fact. This is AN INTER-PARTY NOMINATING PROCESS, nothing more, NOT an election, and primaries are NOT addressed in the Constitution. Further, HRC agreed to this sanction at the time, said NOTHING about “voices” of those voters, and didn’t change her tune until she started dropping behind. The DNC imposed a legitimate sanction against these states and by backing out of it now, they only prove they are untrustworthy as a whole (Party) and should be disbanded.
Actually, I think that’s a good idea, to disband ALL parties, candidates running on their own personal merits. What a novel idea!

Posted by: Lee | May 29, 2008, 5:35 pm 5:35 pm

The voters in FL & MI broke no rules, committed no crimes, they voted in a legitimate primary with their votes verified by the states, and they should have their votes honored.
I don’t care what you do to the idiots who screwed up the process – hang them for all I care.
Hillary earned her votes fair and square and should receive all her votes and and the full delegates. BO spent $1.3 Million campaigning in FL, Hillary did not. She won with a handicap.
In MI BO made a strategic decision to remove his name from the ballot to get an advantage in Iowa. He did. Now, he has to take the loss in MI along with the gain in IA. Hillary didn’t make him do it. She should not be penalized. He should suffer the consequences of his own decision.

I’ve tried to understand and be patient with these primaries, but I’m at the end of my rope. At the beginning of it all, it was agreed by everyone (EVERYONE!) that whoever won the most delegates got the nomination and that votes from Fla. and Mich. didn’t count (and we all know the reasons ad nauseum). I support Obama, but respected HC and thought it fine that she stayed in the race. Now I am fed up to my eyeballs with the manipulation and rule changing at the last throes of this process and am furious. Once again the Clintons have put forth a statement and expect it to be accepted as fact. Stop it! Get on with this nomination and let’s beat McCain. This is ridiculous!

Posted by: Letsgo | May 29, 2008, 5:41 pm 5:41 pm

FYI, the “privelege to vote” was not in the orig. constitution.
and with the purge lists, voter intimidation, company owned computers which can be “fixed” whose to say my vote will be counted anyway, but just in case,
if we want a country of rich-poor, bad roads, a contracted infrastucture, no privacy, armed militia and cops everywhere, then go to mex, check it out, come home and vote for McCain.
if you have stocks in private prisons, bio agriculture, chemical compamies, pharmacutical companies and or private “intelligence and security” firms then vote for McCain.
if you love censorship, confinscating private property and signing statements, then vote for McCain…if not, don”t.
if you wnat all that because your dem didn’t win the primary, then vote for all of the above.
if you want an unconnected, relatively poor and naive president who does not or never has know any corrupt person..then maybe you can run.
get real.

How can anyone, in clear conscience, dishonor the voters in two of our United States who voted in legitimate primaries, and yet, honor the “vote/delegates” that came out of corrupted caucuses.
I’m not referring to the fact that caucuses are corrupt to begin with because all voters are not able to vote – working people, seniors, handicapped, house-bound, out-of-town, etc.
I’m referring to the Obama thugs who went into the caucuses and pushed, pulled, blocked, accosted, and threatened people into leaving without voting. I’m talking about stealing paperwork, fraud, and every type of corruption imaginable.
TX is a prime example of all this fraud and corruption. Hillary won the legitimate primary, and Obama’s thugs stole the delegates.
That is not democracy. That is shameful and un-American. And, not worthy of being counted.

Posted by: Donna | May 29, 2008, 5:43 pm 5:43 pm

The fight will go all the way to the August convention! A decision will be made regarding FL & MI on Saturday and only after the final states vote will Super delegates make a decision. That decision will be based on which candidate is best supported by voters and who can definatly beat McCain in a GE…whether you care to acknowledge it or not, Gallup poll has Hillary ahead of Obama, when it comes to winning.

Sad, sad, sad. I can only hope that the Democratic Party will intervene — the same way that any good family would do, when a member so seriously loses her bearing, as Clinton has. What makes it sadder, still, is that — like any addict, she has no conscience about taking the whole family down with her.

Jennifer:
PLEASE do some research on the issues before you attempt to look informed and end up blundering hopelessly.
First off, the article on CNN’s ticker does nothing to suggest that Obama played dirty in Chicago. He never broke a single election rule.
Secondly, Clinton was never, not once, ahead in pledged delegates. And Obama never, not once, suggested the popular vote as a metric for superdelegates to base their decision upon. No flipflop.
Take the blinders off and read the facts for what they are. Don’t let her continue to lie to you. You can be better than that if you do a little research.

JIM —- It’s all in “comprehension”. Your candidate, Hillary, has a problem with comprehension. She didn’t understand the NIE (that’s why she voted FOR the Iraq War). She didn’t understand the affidavit that she signed stripping FL and MI of delegates (that’s why she’s disputing the results). She didn’t understand the caucus-process (that’s why she defines them as undemocratic). NOW she doesn’t understand the summation of the primary (that’s why she’s insisting that she has a chance with delegate-count).
It appears that you have that same flaw — comprehension.

Obama – Wrong on Wright, Wrong for America!

Posted by: Mack | May 29, 2008, 6:19 pm 6:19 pm

Please take note.
If they count the votes in MI and Fl as voted, she is only separated by 80 delegates which includes all the SD that have stepped forward.
There are 300 left…….
Can you see why Obama is blocking the real count? He wants a wash a break even.
Obama has won only 2 of the last 7 primaries.
Clinton leads in the popular vote.
Clinton leads in the Electoral vote.
Her baggage is old.
He baggage is dangerous.
Ok… now you want her to quit. They have been asking her to quit since Iowa. Have you noticed? I have made a list of the “Quit Hillary”. The latest one is she is taking him away from his children.
So, here is the next phase….. ignore her and pretend the race is over.
I call it the Duck Psychology.
If it walks like a duck and it talks like a duck, it must be a duck.
This is what Obama is doing…he is walking around as if he has already won, talking like he has already won……and the media… buying it along with everyone else.
He is ignoring Clinton like she doesn’t matter and focusing on McCain…. he must be a duck.
Her power win in WV was overpowered by Edwards endorsement the next day, her power win in KT was met with a Victory speech Obama gave at the close of the primaries in Iowa. Again.. divert the media exposure.
She won’t quit they will just ignore her.
Makes me sick…… we are so stupid to be manipulated like this.
Hillary Clinton is the most qualified, most experienced…. his run without a foundation is an insult to us as a Nation.
We are living in such serious times both domestic and Internationally …… we have two Wars and he comes to us without the experience to meet these challenges.
Sad….. and all of Hillary supporters are losing hope…… we are getting beaten down. The forces and power abusing her have gone on so long, she too is getting beaten down. But, this new psychological War fair is very hard. Cruel even. We shall see how honest May 31 DNC Committee meeting turns out……
He has already sent troops to Michigan and FORCED CLAIM on all the undecided even before the DNC meeting. 15% belong to Edwards, even though Edwards endorses Obama, these delegates cannot be awarded until the convention.
He only gets 25% of Michigan and 33% of Florida…… let see what the committee does with that.

Donna: Are you a MI or FL resident? No? Well… I AM. As a resident and registered voter of a state that was told my vote wouldn’t count, I – along with hundreds of thousands of other voters – didn’t vote in a primary we were told would have no bearing on ANYTHING, including by your apparent Golden Child HRC. Because our state party leaders violated pre-established PARTY RULES, they were NOT legitimate primaries, and I certainly hope we have the brains to vote these yahoos out of office next time around. So who’s REALLY “disenfranchised” now – those that Hillary wants to crow about after the fact or those of us who were told one thing affecting our decision and then later told another? Had we known the DNC (at Hillary’s browbeating) was going to renege on their punishment for our reneging of the rules, I can guarantee more of us would have turned up at the polls in January. Some of y’all need to get a grip.
It’s a moot point for me really. As an independent, I choose to vote for a candidate based on their personal merits, not by the D or R attached. BUT… if the DNC backs out now on its prior refusal to seat the MI/FL delegates, I will never trust a Democrat again and will NEVER vote for a Democrat, no matter how qualified they might be.
Once again, I stand behind my “perennial candidate,” Nader.

As I don’t read long blogs, I will try to make this short.
Because of the attitude the Clintons have had recently, IF she manages to pull this off, I am certain many will change their registration back and vote Republican. I vision them switching in droves. People will bring out all her old baggage again. This has hurt the Democratic Party badly, sadly.

Hillary is a abiding by Constitional Law and protecting the rights of voters who are being disenfranchised by Obama and the DNC.
Why is there even a debate? Constitutional law is unequivocal. Every vote cast must be counted. This constitutional principle, pronounced by the United States Supreme Court since Ex parte Yarborough (1884) and reiterated as recently as Gray v. Sanders (1963), is simply beyond reproach. This rock-bottom constitutional demand applies to primaries as well as general elections. United States v. Classic (1941). Deliberately refusing to count votes cast may, under certain fact scenarios, constitute a Federal crime, United States v. Classic, citing now Section 241 of the Federal Crimes Code. Reiterating black letter law stated in Harper v. Virginia Board of Elections (1966), the high court reasserted in Bush v. Gore (2000) that “once granted the right to vote on equal terms, the State may not, by later arbitrary and disparate treatment, value one person’s vote over that of another.”

17 million won’t switch to McCain. There will be some who are just as insane as HRC appears to be at the moment, but the majority of her followers are committed to this nation and understand that they do not have to love their president, but they need to elect the one who best represents the nation’s interest. And all registered Republicans aren’t going to vote for McCain either.
This country will be in another Great Depression if McCain is elected. These economic policies cannot stand. Look at where we are after 7.5 years of this– nearly owned by China. Can we really survive more of this? No economist approved the “gas tax holiday”. Silly economic ploys have nearly sunk us, and if they continue, they will. If McCain had differing policies than the Bush years, he might have a chance. But if his platform is “we are doing great” he will fail. This war cannot stand for 4 (or 100)more years without increasing the military either voluntarily or by a draft. Ask a General.
Reasonable people will vote for their interests. Demented people will follow the cult leader off the cliff. She lost, be disgruntled if you must, but know that punishing anyone is punishing yourself the most. Sen. Clinton won’t feel the pain as America suffers under another 4 years of this, but you will. And if this election is lost to the Republicans, she won’t win in 2012 either. Her goose will be cooked with this party and this nation– and she will be resented.
Just as writers tout that Obama cannot win without her 17 million or so, she cannot win without his either. The draw means decimation of our country. Welcome the the 3rd world US.
Obama is winning against all odds, beating 2 Clintons, and by playing fair.

WHY THE HELL SHOULD HILLARY QUIT WHEN SHE IS AHEAD IN THE POPULAR VOTES AND IN THE ELECTORAL VOTES.
THE “DELEGATES” HAVE BEEN PROVEN TO BE CORRUPT BECAUSE IN ADDITION TO THE DISPROPORTIONATE NATURE TO BEGIN WITH, THE CAUCUSES FURTHER CORRUPT THEM.
AND, IN ADDITION TO THAT OBAMA’S THUGS HAVE CORRUPTED THEM EVEN MORE. TEXAS IS A PRIME EXAMPLE. HILLARY WON THE LEGITIMATE PRIMARY, THEM OBAMA’S THUGS STOLE THE DELEGATES. THE DISCREPANCY WAS OBVIOUS.

How dare Obama run against the Clintons and actually win. Hill, deary, you were beaten by a Black, rookie senator with a weird name and no money starting out and a thirty-point lead nationally. It is really time to look into the mirror hon.

Laugh it up now, Obama supporters. When he gets his ass kicked in November and McCain becomes President, see how funny it is then. But don’t despair. Hillary will come back in ’12 to save things.

Maybe she knows the idiots will give the nomination to someone who can’t beat McCain in the fall…didn’t pull the swing or big states couldn’t pull the Reagan dems, couldn’t pull the white blue collar workers and she decided to jump ship and run as an independent. Personally I’d love it!She has been treated so badly by the press and pundits..and no one stepped in to defend in the democratic party…she even defended Obama when they ganged up on him….I wouldn’t blame her at all. Plus it would leave the party with their mouth open…and destroy Obama’s chance to win, as you cannot win with only the african american and ultra liberal vote…..Personally I think McCain will pick Jeb Bush as his running mate

I was unaware of Donna’s claim that Obama thugs went to Tx. How did you hear about this?
My retired Mother lives in florida, she voted for hisd because she was the only dem on the ballot. She is upset because it was a repdublican fla government who decided to break the dnc rules re:primary election date, and know one even knew anything about Obama, and the fact thet he DID NOT even enter fla, as agreed. Hill and was in the fla press because she was there for a fund raiser.

Nice try. lot of spin there hell will break lose if McCain becomes the president. Most people in the country disagree with you, and enough will disagree with you on Nov4 th to make McCain the next president.
McCain is a decent guy, he is a moderate, and a war hero. He is no GWB. Our friends and family., all democrats will be voting for McCain if Hillary is not the nominee.
Obamaby is no presidential material by any stretch of imagination. No experience, lot of empty rhetoric, pretending to take high road while indulging in all sorts of dirty tricks.
He is ultra-left wing extremist, and racist.
Most “typicl white persons” including enough democrats in swing states will ensure a McCain landslide if Obambi is the democratic nominee.

Hillary is so disappointing. I can’t believe that I used to have respect for this woman. Sadly at this point, she’s already damaging Obama. Some people are too stubborn to do the research. Obama more than qualified. He has held elected office longer than her. He has written more legislation on the environment, the economy, and anti-weapons proliferation in his short time in “national” politics than in her entire career. Sure she’s educated, experienced, and tenacious but she’s also bad for this country. I’m proud to vote for Obama. It shocks me to read comments from all these women who would gladly give up their reproductive rights, condemn young people to countless years of more war, and continue our economies dire path, just because of ego. Don’t buy into the headlines, and catch phrases. Spend a little time familiarizing yourself with Obama’s policies. They in addition to his speaking, are very impressive. Don’t sentence me to more of republican control because of your pride.

Democrats a party of compassion
As a party we share compassion for those that need support and attention for their survival.
We are the party that cares for the suffering and abused.
We do not ignore but embrace the poor, ill, weak, old, disabled, young, envirnoment and fractured families.
We as a country are only as strong as our weakest link and by uniting together to shore up that which is in need we remain strong.
The Democrats care….. we share our wealth with the poor and we are a watchdog to protect these values.
Hillary Clinton is a champion for all these values. Her years of service to the public has documented her passion.
She and Bill Clinton have wealth. They could make good Republicans but they need to give back in service to us, to our country.
What do they have to gain otherwise.
Where is the value of life, if not to make a difference in the lives of the poor and try to meet the needs of those that find it hard to do battle alone.
Democrats…. we are the party of compassion.
I am a proud supported of Hillary Clinton.

Matt: I don’t need t wonder why he was “campaigning” here, since NONE of the candidates did here in Michigan. The point is, they ALL agreed to strip our delegates, long before the illegal primary occurred, and now the DNC needs to stand behind the sanction they imposed. Hillary looks like a jackass (perfect Democratic icon, BTW) saying “screw you” to us then – MI residents who have been suffering the HIGHEST UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN THE NATION for most of the decade, companies fleeing the state or just closing down (and not only GM, who has obviously made the largest impact on our economy and further saturating the overburdened job market), increases in state income taxes applied retroactively over 2007 to cover the 2008 budget deficit, a governor that I still can’t believe was reelected and conveniently sits in Hillary’s right breast pocket AND the driving force behind moving our primary up to begin with, and state Party leaders who sacrificed their constituency like a sacrificial lamb (under the guise of bringing to light our serious plight) – and then later saying “every vote counts.”
I’m sorry, but it doesn’t work that way. We didn’t matter to her until she fell behind. Had she maintained the lead, I fully believe she would have stood behind her original pledge to strip our delegation and we still wouldn’t have mattered, and we wouldn’t even be having this discussion.
I’m also sorry, but primaries have nothing to do with the Constitution. Maybe you should peruse that great document once again.

I don’t understand people saying we’ll make him lose and she’ll win in 2012. What makes you think we would vote for her then when we wouldn’t now? Especially when you are sacrificing a better America for a vendetta. Heres the deal: She is never going to be president. Sorry. Accept it, get over it, move on.

Posted by: Patriot Games | May 29, 2008, 7:10 pm 7:10 pm

My theory is the republicans are controlling who they run against in Nov. The voting machines of 2000 and 2004 are still around ES&S Hagel still has ties through MCarthy group..and they are the biggest voting machine co in the US, (and what a surprise a republican who touts Obama Chuck Hagel)..lets suppose that all the whitebread states that weren’t caucuses seemed to go for Obama were rigged by the GOP…to go for Obama…I always thought it would be nice if all the US was colorblind, but it really is not likely at all. white farmers in Idaho, and Wyoming, Va,even Iowa caucus…not likely these types voting for Obama.a liberal over Hillary a moderate..yet the votes went that way to Obama. The corporate press and pundits biased always GOP favorting in the past but now their opinions help push Obama….and Obama and the DNC,senate and congress think Obama has won all these states…even the southern states maybe at most have 40% african americans the rest are white…and notoriously predjudice in the south…so here we go…the dumb liberals in the senate and house believe it is real….republicans are laughing their asses off…and come Nov when Obama runs against McCain…he loses by a monumental landslide…..and the liberals (most I really liked in the past) are left with their fingers up their noses wondering what happened once the votes went to the republicans . Its all a game…maybe all these people want to continue this war…..maybe they have companies within companies that profit from the war who knows

Marie:
Thanks for the list! I will look into it. But I need to know where you got your facts from. I have heard spins on a lot of stuff. But, unfortunately, sometimes people put a spin on things just to get people mad. Again,If you say things long enough most people will believe them. That is what Hillary is doing. But, I am sure, there is nothing she has ever lied about (she did agree to not let Fl & MI votes count until it was not to her atvantage). Or things she has said were never taken out of context. “Bobby Kennedy was shot in June”. I am sure it was harmless, but some people tried to make it a big deal.
I was trying to check some stuff out. What I did find is that his Grandmother in kenya lives in a small village. Sounds afluent to me. Also that his father was a Goat herder until he won a sscholar ship. i guess it depends on where and who is giving the information tthat people are reading. Also, What is wrong with being Muslin. Not all muslims want to blow us up! This country was founded by people who were fleing from religious prosecution. We came here so we could be free of censorship. But I guess that is something in the past.

Why would people speak of Hillary Clinton the way some of these posters do? She has done more for women and children. Bill Clinton was actually called the first black president as he always highly supported all things civil rights, as has Hillary Clinton. It is only because of the talking heads that people would even disrespect her this way. When Bill Clinton ran they were considered outsiders too liberal, now because of this contentious primary, and with th enobody pundits on the biased corporate news stations.spewing horrible things about her. MSNBC is owned by GE a govt contractor and Time Warner owns CNN they are both corporate members of CFR..for those of you who know who that is. One thing I have found in this primary is It was planned. The old man McCain barely had to work up a sweat and he was the nominee…if thedems had not conspired to have this wierd delegate apportioning Hillary would already have been be the nominee long ago. She got hornswagled into agreeing to the aportioning. Against all odds she has prevailed..she won the big states the ones with huge populations, she won the swing states save for Mo…the other swings he won were only caucuses and no proof he could best McCain in the fall with these states, as they are party insiders voting.I Think Clinton should be the candidate and obviously the republicans don’t want that, they want to be able to beat their opposition…so it’s got to be the inexperienced one

Hillary kepps sying she’s ahead in the popular vote when she is not! Read a good honest website and stop listening to just her and her husband. Also, noone can count electoral votes until November they just assume. You can’t get electoral votes if you are not in the race so just count it as the Dems having it. Who in their right mind will vote for someone who changes the rules everytime someone beats them fair and square after playing by the rules. She always says where she is leading in and when he overtakes her she starts on a new RANT!
To all the women in America, if women votes for McCain the are crazy! He has never voted for anything supporting women. And the last vote for equal wages for women, HE VOTED AGAINST IT! If you want to cut off your nose in spite of your face, go right ahead!

Hillary supporters, I’m from NY and believe me, this woman is not even an effective Senator, so stop fooling yourself that she’d make a great President. She talks a good game and acts as though she has a resume filled with great accomplishments, but they are all Bosnian sniper fire-type exaggerations. She’s been a failure at anything she’s personally managed, like the health care debacle and her own Presidential campaign. She even weighed down her own husband, being responsible for most of the nonsexual Clinton scandals. She is not Bill, and she can’t bring the 90′s back. After 8 years of Bush, don’t deny this country the opportunity to head in a better direction because of your blind allegiance to this woman who sees YOU as nothing more than a vote.

So if you are a True Dem you would support the nominee. And the person will have the popular votes and the electoral votes to beat McCain! Some people really need to search deep within and see the real reasons. And maybe, just maybe America can really change and be a place for all.

What people should be supporting is the person who has the best chance of clobbering McCain in the fall…….not putting some new guy in who we know didn’t win all the major states., and we know he didn’t win all the swing states except one barely. And we know Obama cannot carry the Reagan democrats even though Huffington biased Post compared him to the gipper and Reagan,,,,what a joke…sway sway sway!!!We also know ha has never pulled the white blue collar voter….and say what you will, but hoping he can pull it together …and conquer all those things by Nov , when we desparately need to have a democrat or someone left of Bush in office…frankly it is a bit speculatative and too iffy for me. I think if he were the nominee Hillary voters will either not vote or vote McCain out of spite, The Reagan dems will stay home as they will not support a liberal as he is touted as. The white blue collar will also stay home….and the only ones who will show up in droves are african americans, and the leftover duped liberals. I am ashamed to see how my fellow liberals are frankly so stupid. There is no way Obama can win the presidency with the only strong base are the african americans and lets get real that goes without saying.

The thing is, you can’t be a leader and not know what Islam means. The average Joe pumping gas on Route 66 – okay, not on top of the issue, but there is no way you can be running for President and not know the hell being wreaked on the free and not-so-free world by Islamic jihad.
That said, Barack Obama went to a madrassa in Jakarta. A madrassa in a Muslim country. Whether he was devout or secular, he knows what was taught. He knows what is in the Koran (Quran). Even if he is ambiguous, he knows the stakes involved. His father was a Muslim who took three wives (without divorcing). His stepfather and close members of his family are devout Muslims. Not an unimportant influence.
Every Muslim who left Islam is very definitive about leaving and why. They are quite vocal – Wafa Sultan, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Elijah Abraham, etc.
If he left Islam, Obama must have very definite thoughts about it. He has to, he practiced Islam. That is not benign; it’s big. And even if, as inferred by big media, it was not big to him, then he can still appreciate how important it is knowing what he knows about Islam and apostasy.
Obama would have had to make a decision to reject Islam. When did he make that decision? How? Why the silence? Why the reluctance to talk about it?
Apostasy is punishable by death in Islam. Have there been calls for Obama’s death? If not, why not? Islam gives no free passes. Obama’s posture on this is hard to define or understand, because it is a critical issue.
Transitional issues facing this nation and the world at large – the world at war, creeping sharia, the perversion of the rights of free men, individuals, women, etc., hang in the balance on the make up of the next president of the United States. The stakes could not be higher domestically.
On foreign policy, Europe has laid down. The political elites have capitulated to Islamists and to multiculturalists. Suicide. It seems unclear that they could hold up their end even if America did the heavy lifting.
As far as Israel is concerned, if Obama makes it to the big house, Israel is screwed. Finished. Obama’s church and Jew-hating pastor, Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr., makes that evident. Israel will be on its own.
The recent revelations of Obama’s ties to Raila Odinga in Kenya are disconcerting as well, because Odinga is behind the terrible violence in his country. It was he who instigated bloody riots and killing after he lost the election. Obama’s bias for his fellow Luo was so blatant that a Kenyan government spokesman denounced Obama during his visit as Raila’s “stooge.” And while there are few angels in Kenya, Odinga is the source of great unrest and turmoil; and the MOU he signed with the Muslim Council to institute sharia is a foreshadowing of a dark fate for Kenya. (A Jacksonian picked up on my previous post on this and wrote a lengthy, well-researched piece on the politics and back story on Odinga.) Just how quickly will Kenya go Islamic?
We must be allowed to ask these questions. I do not embrace change for the sake of change – the impossible new buzzword on the campaign trail. Jimmy Carter was the dark horse, the new unknown, and he was an unmitigated disaster. The worst, most damaging president in US history, in my opinion.
This could be even worse. And so, I implore my fellow Americans to question, question, question. The potential damage to this country is incalculable. These are dangerous times, my friends; reckless and capricious intellectual laziness will have disastrous consequences.

Hillary stated that she saw nothing wrong with accepting money from lobbyists.
Obama has refused to accept money from industry lobbyists.
It is lobby money which runs our government, not the president or congress. Bush and Cheney would have been impeached but for the fact that even the democrats in congress are beholden to the same lobby money, and the democrats in congress will not offend “industrial lobby money”.
Barak Obama offers a slim chance that the people might once again have a saying in what goes on in Washington.
His ability to raise money from 1.5 million Americans is proof that the people believe in him.
Hillary will give us more of the same, just as Bill Clinton did.

See how silent the Rezko trial was NOT A WORD sort of like Downing Street memo…….Rezko served as an Obama fund-raiser,He is a Syrian born businessman and real estate developer. Obama entered into a land deal with Rezko in 2005. Rezko was widely known to be under federal scrutiny at the time. Prosecutors charge Rezko directed $10,000 from a kickback scheme into Obama’s campaign fund. Obama isn’t accused of wrongdoing, and he has since given that money to charity.Jury selection began Monday in the Chicago corruption trial of political fundraiser Tony Rezko, who has ties to Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama. Rezko has pleaded innocent to charges of demanding payments from firms trying to do business with the state and funneling the funds to himself or political figures he favored, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Rezko, 52, is charged with buying political influence with campaign money and using it to launch a multimillion-dollar shakedown scheme aimed at companies hoping to build hospitals or invest state pension money.
Accused Illinois fixer Antoin “Tony” Rezko is in debt by $50 million and relies on “family” handouts of $7,500 a month to pay monthly costs, according to a previously sealed court transcript reviewed by ABC News.
Rezko’s bleak financial picture raises the question of how the Rezkos were able to buy a vacant lot adjoining the home of Sen. Barack Obama in 2005, at a time Rezko says he was already in deep debt.
Rezko also reveals in the testimony, before Judge Amy St. Eve on Jan. 16, 2007, that he already knew he was under federal investigation at the time of the land purchase and had hired a criminal defense attorney to deal with the “feds.”
Obama says he sought Rezko’s help because the house he wanted to buy in Chicago’s Hyde Park came with an adjoining lot the seller wanted to sell at the same time. Unable to afford it himself, Obama says Mrs. Rezko bought it for $625,000, and then later sold a strip of the lot back to Obama so he would have a larger yard. Obama says he paid Mrs. Rezko a fair market price.
According to the court transcript, Mrs. Rezko makes $37,500 a year. Rezko has been getting help from “friends” to pay for his lawyer. Obama comes off as naive at best in this transaction. If Rezko got the money from Auchi, a former Saddam associate, and aide then it will raise even more questions about his stand against the war in Iraq. I tend to think that Obama could come to his incoherent Iraq policy on his own. If he did it for corrupt reasons that would at least show he was smart enough to know his policy was wrong.

I am not sure where this is going but
Hussein is an Arabic name, But Arabic is spoken in Ethiopia. Which has a Christian religion known as Coptic. Which claims to have the Ark of the Covenant. So What is in a name. I have known people with strange names only because their parents thought it was cool. I knew a guy who’s name was Steve. He was a jerk. So I guess that every one named Steve is automaticly a jerk. Good reasoning people. (Sorry, no offence to any Steves out there)

To R Squibbs>>
“When it comes to lobbyists, Senator Obama’s words might sound nice but voters need to make sure they read the fine print. Despite trying to give the impression that he has no relationship with lobbyists or special interests, the reality is that Senator Obama takes money from people who hire lobbyists, partners of lobbyists, spouses of lobbyists, former lobbyists and state lobbyists.” Public Citizen: 10 of Sen. The firm was paid $4.5 million last year” for lobbying the federal government. [Bloomberg
Sen. Obama takes money from employees of firms that lobby and has lobbyists as advisers. "But those who lobby for a living say it's not that simple, and even Obama's stance shows some flexibility. He won't take money from federal lobbyists but accepts money from employees of firms and corporations that lobby, and he uses lobbyists and other government relations professionals as advisers... Obama has also used major fundraisers who are registered lobbyists on the state level. And he uses registered federal lobbyists such as Broderick Johnson, who lobbies for AT&T and Shell Oil, among others, as a campaign adviser. Lets face facts Obama should get the nomination! Just not for president, perhaps for the things he excels in..Community Organizing or Voter Registraion. We can’t give a mentally unstable person one who claims his foreign policy is based on not heads of state but people he knew when 6 years old.in Indonesia or a college trip to Pakistan..and puts his expertise up against McCains and Clintons…..Now that is funny!

Now I am really confused. I looked up more info on th Raila Odinga. From what I have read sofar, he ran against the Mr. Kibaki and Lost. His party thought the election was rigged (and there might have been some manipulation of the votes) BUT, they did resolve their diferences and he is now Prime Minister. Sounds like someone the Clinton campaign would like. After all he did cry foul when he lost and he did become the Prime Minister to keep the peace.

Folks,
If we hope to bring the Democratic Party together, then we need to lay off Senator Clinton. When we make these comments about her, we only push her supporters away from coming to means with the primaries. We need her supporters as well as those for McCain because WE are ALL Americans with at least one goal in common; make America better place to live in! So let’s just wait until she feels comfortable with the situation. She will come around to realize that America still has a place for her; and like it or not we need her.

Clinton supporters won’t vote for McCain. It’s as simple as that.
Everywhere I go, I’m urging people to just ignore alleged Clinton supporters who say they’ll vote for McCain. These people fall into two categories: (1) They are Republicans trying to stir up trouble, and shame on them for being cheats and liars (some family values, eh), or (2) they are real Clinton supporters who, once their tantrum wears off, will realize that McCain represents the OPPOSITE of everything their candidate stands for. So, bottom line, no problem.
It’s pointless to keep bringing it up. True Democrats, you know who you’ll vote for – you’ll vote for the Democratic nominee. And that’s a good thing, because our country needs some fixing.
I won’t respond to the Obama name calling except to say this – when you’re ready to put your fists down and play nice, we’ll be happy to forgive and forget. We need unity, not insanity.
So, can we please quit discussing that now, and get to the business of saving our country?

Posted by: Keith | May 29, 2008, 8:46 pm 8:46 pm

Marie: I guess because we cannot understand why she wants to change the rules, why she says she has been treat so badly and why she wants to take this fight all they way to the convention and doom our country to 4 more years of Bush Policys. We also do not understand why she has gotten you to hate Obama so much. I do know that some of the Obama people also Hate Clinton. But most of that is because Clinton and her followers have been so negative about Obama. Why is it the the Clinton people are going to hold a protest this sat and cause problems and her campaign incourages it while Obama has asked that his people not come. We do not need someone who is a fighter and will keep fighting even though it is wrong. We need someone who can keep a level head. That sounds like Obama. He has praised Clinton for all she has done. But she needs to stop after June 3rd.

Posted by: Iamforthiscountry | May 29, 2008, 8:48 pm 8:48 pm

First she is not ahead in the popular vote. I was just reading an article. If you counted all the Primaries that did not count (states that had Caucuses they still had a ballot but it did not count) Obama is way ahead in the popular vote. It is the delegate count that matters. I am with you that we should lobby to change that next time. As for the Electoral vote. Noone has that. That is the National Election. Clinton’s campaign has figured the numbers to suit their needs. Do none of you watch tne news and read the papers?

We don’t have a problem voting for McCain if Hillary is not the nominee because McCain will have his hands tied with a Democratic Congress.

Anyway, Hillary will be the nominee. People’s votes trump corrupt delegates.

It looks like the whole country has become an enabler to this delusional state of mind Hillary has.
No wonder the country is dire straits. Can somebody tell her that she is vying to be a leader of this great nation. It appears all the control that she could not muster over her private life has become displaced and is being applied to the nation. What a sight.
The country need a reasoned and able leader, not a power hungry and perhaps unbalanced one.

Mindy: Look up Clinton, health care, plan, Moynihan, 2000. Clinton actually admitted that if she had been willing to listen, if she had been willing to compromise, 20 million more Americans would have received health care, starting in 1993.
She is offering almost exactly the same plan, except this time she is more polarizing – she won’t even have the support of the Democrats, who she has stabbed in the back.

Good Lord, the poor child’s gone mad. She needs to be taken to a nice spa where she can unwind, have massages, sleep, sleep and more sleep. She has gotten so wired up that she can’t see daylight any more. A week at the Golden Door, perhaps. Or one of the other really expensive spas where they float lotus blossoms in the bathtub or something. Lots of camomile tea.
That ought to restore her to reason and put her back on the road to returning to the Senate and reality. She doesn’t need medication. She doesn’t need therapy. She needs REST.

The thing that amazes me:
Its not that Clinton stretches the truth, and not that her supporters know she stretches the truth yet support her anyway.
Its that they in turn repeat the same stretches, even while knowing everybody knows its a stretch.
We all know not all the caucus states are counted in those popular vote tallies. We all know the Michigan deal. And we all know that we all know this. Still, that need to repeat these stretches of truth can’t be held in check. Mind boggling.

The Clintons have a lot of people in their pockets including a lot in leadership. A lot of Blacks in power feel they owe he Clintons a huge debt. So they will stand behind them until a nominee is named. She is a horrible person and is proving everything that was said about her during her husband’s administration. She is power hungry and she doesn’t care what it takes she wants what she wants even if she has to roll over a dead body. The body count continues into 2008?

I hope McCains hands would be tied, but I am not so confident. Our present president does not seem to be ruled by them anyway. I too, will simply vote democratic, although I don’t have the same angst against either of them that seems to come up on many of these posts.
All the candidates have shady pasts, but I usually vote Dem because of the economics and general philosophy of that party.
I just wonder if the rift can be fixed or has Limbough’s “operation chaos” come true?

Charlene, Hillary cannot win, no matter what graphs she pulls from Karl Rove. There was a time when she could have – but she followed the wrong advisors – and went Lee Atwater. She cannot win the west coast after her “obliterate Iran” gaffe. She cannot win NJ – polls show she’d lose it now. She absolutely cannot win a single southern state. McCain will take the Rocky Mountain states, the Ohio River Valley (that where most Iraq deaths came from – no one wants to believe their child died in vain), She cannot take a single solid blue state, because she has turned into a Republican. What do you think she can win? Arkansas?

Gallup Poll: Clinton Stronger in Swing States
Gallup Poll: “In the 20 states where Hillary Clinton has claimed victory in the 2008 Democratic primary and caucus elections (winning the popular vote), she has led John McCain in Gallup Poll Daily trial heats for the general election over the past two weeks of Gallup Poll Daily tracking by 50% to 43%. In those same states, Barack Obama is about tied with McCain among national registered voters, 45% to 46%.”

Unfortunately, it’s not funny. The longer Hillary Clinton stays in the campaign, the harder it will be for Democrats to finance and organize a general election campaign. The general election funds are not accessible to either candidate until the nomination is official.
Moreover, if Hillary Clinton decides to take this fight to the convention, which is obviously the message, she will leave the Democratic Party two months to launch a campaign against McCain, an impossible task. It assures the defeat of either Democratic candidate.
I suppose the greater question is why she is doing this? What is her motive? She knows that even if she wins a floor fight in August, she can’t win in November. There isn’t enough time. It is logistically impossible. She is on a path of scorched earth destruction of the Democratic nominee and the Party, while handing us four more years of Bush.

Obama supporters you don’t have to defend him on this blog. Refer the delusional Hillary supporters to the facts. They are loud, petty and liars, so much so they make up stories about someone who really doesn’t have any baggage. They dig up a Pastor. If we start digging up the baggage on the Clintons I am not sure we could post it here including how the former President makes his money, not just in speeches but other questionable business dealings. So if we want to go back to Ayers and the man was what 7 or 8, let’s then go back to Hillary when she was a Republican and working on those campaigns, let us go to Walmart and the many suits she argued on discrimination on behalf of Walmart, let us go to Whitewater where they weren’t found innocent but weren’t charged because of the blue dress incident. Let us dig up the delirious sniper fire, let us look at her Pastor, let us look at the same Pastor Wright was called in to counsel her husband during the blue dress incident. Not just a picture, the old we take thousands of pictures with people…more lies. Let us look at travelgate, filegate that was all linked to Mrs. Clinton, let us look at the fact she is an opportunist moving to New York to become the junior Senator so she can run for the highest office in the land proving she will do anything and say anything to become President. She basically discredited her husband as President by claiming she negotiated treaties, sat in on meetings of National Security (where was her clearance), and the list goes on. My God she will stop at nothing. I hate to think what she will do to Obama if she doesn’t get the nomination. I hate to think what she would do if she became the Vice President on the ticket, he better get a food taster or hmmm a famous plane crash (Ron Brown). Seeing her behave like this makes a lot of things very clear and it is frightening to think. Keith Olberman is absolutely right Enough Senator Clinton, let Elizabeth Dole be your example, bow out graciously a lady knows when to quit. You are not a role model to me or my children. You have thrown a royal public tantrum and a major pity party. Enough! The Bush-Clinton era is over. Now go HOME! H.C. PHONE HOME!

John,
I respect your opinion, and I think the points you made here are well constructed, though with flaws. I will try to dissect some of these with FACTS. So, let’s leave feelings aside, because I noticed while reading many of these blogs (supporters of both candidates), most comments were based on feelings and feelings only,… nothing bad about that, but let’s look at facts a little.
I do believe that both Bill and Hill have done a lot for the country, although it was mostly Bill. I think he was a great president and did a lot of the things you mentioned and more!
However, what they did the past few months seems to undo all they did for the past 16 years. I am not talking about fighting for her nomination, but rather using NEGATIVITY in doing so. they both know it is not helping the Democratic party. And that in itself shows that they don’t care about the Democratic party, they only care about having her being POTUS. Well, we all know this is not happening now.
The other thing is Hill has undone anything good she’s ever done by lying like there is no tomorrow. And seriously I wanted to give you detailed examples, but it would take forever for me to write it and for anybody to read it. Now, if you want me to give you some, I can do it in my next comment.
Now, by spreading her lies, especially in attacking Obama is detrimental to him comes the GE, but she doesn’t seem to care. The average of all polls taken in the past 3 months have shown him to be more electable at each time in this campaign. Now, if you want those averages, I can post them later.
NOw, based on the current numbers, no matter what the RBC does is not gonna get her more delegates than Obama, and that’s a mathematical facts… Again, it will take another post to give you the 5 scenarios that the RBC has come up with in the past.
So, yes they did a lot for this country, but what are they trying to accomplish with what they’re doing now. I’m saying, let’s let her run until June 3rd, but she needs to stop the blaming others for her own misfortunes, (and I can give you an example on that too, a fact of course).
I see your point about disrespecting her, but she disrespected herself with all the lying, the crying about people not being fair, and the blaming things she’s done on others. I used to like the Clintons, but they did this to themselves.
SO ALL I’M SAYING IS IF YOU WANT ME TO GIVE YOU THE FACTS ON ANY OF THE ISSUES I MENTIONED, JUST TELL ME WHICH AND I’LL BE HAPPY TO.
heads that people would even disrespect her this way.

Hill’s supporters,
If you want to judge someone on their associations, I would say this to you:
Bill Clinton is the president, whose cabinet and WH staff underwent the most investigations, and the most indictments in the history of the US government.
Now, that’s including BUSH; so if we judge them based on that, it would be a shame!!!!

Hillary is a candidate and she tries her best to run like one.
She did not duck debate. She gets people out to vote. She has received unprecedented amount of votes. She won all the big states. Should BO lose those states that Hillary win, he would go down in history as one of the worst candidates in general election.
It is so clear that BO’s campaign is based on personal attacks on Hillary rather than his non-existence credential.
He is simply not qualified. At this critical moment the presumptuous undemocratic democratic party tries to dog the election.
McCain is no Bush; he is lifelong apponent of Bush. BO’s smearing tactics does not work. BO will gaffe at big time and he is simply not up to par in the big league. He will be busy explaining his falls that he delineate voters than ever. Nobody can win an election without Florida, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, Ohio and Texas in the same election.
Hillary, McCain; Nobama

Hillary Clinton’s problem is that everything happens in one direction, her ability to affect everyone else. It’s a true sign of narcissism. What she’s failed to realize is that her action will cause a reaction. Hillary in 2012? Uh, NO because 1 – Obama will be heading into his second term and 2 – As much as she thinks she’s hardening the voters against Obama, she’s also hardening more than half of the Democratic Party (and Independents such as myself, and Republicans) against her. Stalkers are ‘persistent’ but we don’t try to make their actions seem heroic and there’s nothing heroic or ‘strong’ about Clinton’s actions. It’s cheap and it’s self serving. She had her place in history (before she threw it away). For her to feel that this nomination is hers is maddening — as in, it’s driven HER mad.

Posted by: Denni | May 29, 2008, 9:47 pm 9:47 pm

To the person who says that Hillary is protecting a constitutional right and that’s why she’s fighting for MI and FL, she’s counting on your ignorance. Her utter contempt for the law, and for the truth is clear.
You don’t have a constitutional right to vote in a PRIMARY. The primary is is governed by the rules of the party – that’s the reason the courts keep throwing out absurd lawsuits claiming civil rights violations.
BTW, it as Clinton’s supporters, including Ickes, who voted to strip the delegates of voting rights. It was an Obama supporter who voted against stripping MI and FL. Clinton’s camp gave public statements about why they supported the decision… until they realized they weren’t going to win and were in trouble.
NOW she wants to be a heroine. She’s no more than an opportunist who manipulates her base because they’re either too ill informed to see what she’s doing, or too emotionally caught up. That’s not exactly evidence of great leadership. It’s a little too ‘Bush-esque’.

Posted by: Denni | May 29, 2008, 9:54 pm 9:54 pm

My guess is that Clinton will hang in through the summer, threatening a floor fight, but drop out right before the convention, severely weakening Obama’s chances to win because of time constraints.
Since Clinton is creating the losing scenario for Democrats, I hope the general election is dumped in her lap a week before the convention. She should run under the conditions she is determined to create, then she can face the Party after a loss in November.

Posted by: Deborah | May 29, 2008, 9:55 pm 9:55 pm

Hillary is ashamed to face her collegues at the Senate- SHE DOES NOT WANT TO GO BACK TO THE SENATE AND BE REGARDED AS A LOSER-PERIOD.When a person creates an impression to her collegues that something is easily her entitlement and she does not get that entitlement, how does she go back to her collegues to explain why she lost the entilement? All her tantrums, like a child, is all ado about nothing, BUT GOING BACK TO THE SENATE TO EXPLAIN HOW SHE WAS WHIPPED BY A ROOKIE AT HER OWN GAME.I sympathize with her, but being a FIGHTER, AS SHE CLAIMS TO BE, GOING BACK FROM WHERE YOU COME FROM, SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM.

John_Lai
Please stick with the facts.
Stop the ifs and what nots. If the a nuke falls on the 18 million who voted for Obama, then he will lose…
If Clinton gets someone to kill him, then she’s the nominee
If both McCain and Obama die tomorrow then she will win the GE (well, I’m not even sure about that!!!)…
Stop with the fiction and wake up the harsh taste of reality…
A fact, let’s remember one of Hill’s lies… “I remember landing under Sniper fire, I remember there was supposed to be a greeting ceremony, but instead nobody greeted us, I remember having to run to our cars our heads down…
NOW THAT’s FICTION!!!
Later when the video showed that actually she wasn’t running anywhere, that she was greeted by a bunch of people including a little girl who gave her a poem she wrote for her, and whom she kissed and hugged, she didn’t run to her vehicle…
When she was confronted about her lie, she then lied again!!!
and said all I remember is that we’ve been told that there are gun shots, and we’ve been told to run to our cars…
Then the third lie, was that “I mispoke”
You can’t misspeak about 3 consecutive statements… those are called LIES.
You want some more of those lies?
Now calling her an ASS.. to the Democratic Party is a misstatement, b/c what I really meant to say is that she’s an ASSET to the Democratic Party….
Stop believing in her BS, you make me think you’re one of those far-right republicans… you know the illiterate, uneducated, unaware of what’s really going on around them!

Hillary’s legacy is that she will never give up. People may count her out but Hillary is a fighter and will never give up. We teach our children to not give up. To try, try and try again until you succeed. There is nothing wrong with Hillary wanting to fight for what she believes. She believes like many others that she would make the best president and so why should she give up because of a few nay sayers? Hillary will be remembered for her strength and for what might have been if she does not become POTUS.

I’ve always heard that statistics don’t lie, but liars use statistics.
The saying is generally true. But when liars use statistics, you’ll notice that they pick and choose WHICH statistics they want to use and want you to see.
Examples:
“I’m leading in the PRIMARY states (if you don’t include the caucus states).”
“I’ve got the popular vote lead (if you include zero votes for Obama in Michigan, and don’t include certain caucus states).”
I have a bigger margin in lead over McSame in ‘swingstates’ (but ignore that Obama also leads McSame in almost all those states, and he has leads in some states I’m not counting, because I can’t win them).”
Etc., etc., etc., etc.

Voter,
I agree with you, one should not give up.
But if you read my previous comment you’ll see that what you said is not complete!
Hillary SHOULD NOT give up.
However, in not giving up, she shouldn’t:
LIE,
CHEAT,
DECEIVE,
BE NARCISSISTIC and SELF-SERVING.
Now, when you’re referring to not giving up, I don’t think along that, you would teach your kids to lie, cheat, try to change the rules they agreed on when these rules are not in their interest anymore… unless you’re like Hillary!
Think about that

Posted by: Mike g | May 29, 2008, 10:46 pm 10:46 pm

First, Clinton will not run an IND ticket, that is political suicide and will ruin any chance of her keeping her senate seat.
Second, If she really thinks she can ruin this Election out of revenge and come back in 2012 and we will have forgotten and will vote for her she is mistaken.

It is the media that has been spinning the statistics from the beginning to Obama’s benefit. Soon if Hillary does not win the nomination, the same buffs will spin it to McCain’s benefit. Obama will be toast. I am eagerly looking forward to all the swift boating folks to pound Obama. They are just bidding their time. Wait for September, October! Until then, Aloha! It’s time to relax!

Michelle,
What feminine movement are you talking about? The one that got women the right to vote, the one that got child and labor laws enacted, the one that worked for equality and evidently is still working hard at it today? And just what are your rules on being a “lady”? Women are still fighting for equal pay and equal voices. You obviously know nothing about working for feminist causes or being a lady, whatever that is supposed to mean.

I was young during the 60′s. I thought I could make everything work out. It didn’t. In turning your matricidal projections toward Hillary you prove you
have some serious mommy issues. I think women, as well as African
Americans, should be treated with at least a little respect. I simply can not understand why people have chosen to hate Hillary so. I wonder if Obama wins if we boomers don’t vote. I have never not voted biut I will not be railroaded into voting for a young inexperienced, arrogant and possibly delusional. “…to change the country and the world,” indeed.

“LIE,

WHY SHOULD HILLARY QUIT WHEN SHE IS AHEAD IN THE POPULAR VOTES AND IN THE ELECTORAL VOTES.
HILLARY WON THE LEGITIMATE PRIMARY, THEM OBAMA’S THUGS WENT INTO THE CAUCUSES, THREATENED AND ACCOSTED VOTERS, COMMITTED EVERY TYPE OF FRAUD AND CORRUPTION IMAGINABLE, AND STOLE THE DELEGATES. THE DISCREPANCY WAS OBVIOUS.

I am not sure why the Obamaniacs are so upset and are into name calling if they believe Obama has sewn this nomination up. There must be so much insecurity. There is no reason for Hillary to support someone who has been so disrespectful to her and to her supporters. The Hillary supporters can go vacationing and enjoy the rest of the summer while the Obama supporters stew. Hillary can relax and decide if she wants to run as an independent. Neither she nor her supporters owe anyone anything. They can support who they want.

Posted by: Voter | May 29, 2008, 11:05 pm 11:05 pm

Seriously, I’m beginning to think she’s going to try to take the Oath of Office in January, long after Obama wins the General.
I know she wants to look like she’s never going to quit but really now, an honorable bow out of the race would put her a long way towards a position of power than what she’s doing now. At the very least she can be a strong Senator with more and more experience pushing her forward into committee positions as the time goes on.
Sad.

When you say that there are enough women in Harlem to challenge “the blacks,” are you speaking of “the white women” when you say women?
This is one way white privilege works. You can speak for women and assume we all know you are talking really about white women. You don’t have to name their race. But even still you can’t speak for all white women.

She thought this was her year, everyone was saying this was her year, she started acting like this was her year and then she got her clock cleaned by Senator Obama. Her chief strategist did not even understand how the rules worked while Obama’s figured out every wrinkle. And she lost.
Because she is being such a spoil sport the Democratic Party has had to wait until the end of the voting period to publicly acknowledge what everyone already know. Senator Clinton has lost.

I agree. The Clintons treated Obama as if he were a republican or not-a-democrat. Had the numbers been on Clinton’s side, the story would’ve been completely different because 1) Obama would’ve graciously conceded on his own, 2) The Superdelegates would have endorsed Clinton in droves, and 3) the DNC and the democratic base would have demanded Obama’s concession.

While it’s good to teach your children to “never give up”, it’s equally important to teach them to accept responsibility for their mistakes. Otherwise, they will grow up to become arrogant, combative, delusional and bitter. Make them whole by teaching them the core values of discerning right from wrong, understanding that while the world needs them, it doesn’t revolve about them. Yep, no matter how tough, clever, intelligent, accomplished, untouchable, entitled, and demi-gods they are, there is that tiny possibility that there’s someone out there who may outshine them. Teach them humility. And yes use Clinton as an example of what they shouldn’t do when they fail in a fair and square game.

if the shoe was on obama, he would not quit. maybe you should find out how he actually got into office in chicago. he played very dirty and probably alot worse then clinton. go to cnn polotics and read about “obama plays hardball polotics in chicago”. very interesting and it is not a lopsided article either.
———————
I read the article and he played by the rules, he did nothing illegal. He is playing by the rules now, and it is perfectly legal. Hillary agreed to these rules and they are both politicians. Obviously Hillary should have some of the same ethics, play by the rules. That is simple.
What do you think Hillary is doing? She is trying to overturn the rules for her benefit, Obama did not overturn any rules, he used the rules/law to win an election. I believe that is what politicians everywhere does.
I don’t see your point.

There is one very compelling reason for Hillary to drop out, and I am sure you will not dispute it. The many of you that claim to support her, albeit with words, have failed to support her financially. What is the poor lady to do with a bagful of words and a campaign bank account in the red. You can say all you want about the “Obamabots”, but they sure put their money where their mouths venture. That’s the impetus of Obama’s success–a genuinely dedicated support base.

Isn’t this a democracy anymore?========================
Who are you speaking for, I will be voting for Obama and millions of other Floridians will as well. I bet you don’t live in Florida, yet you buy every word that proceeds out of Hillary’s mouth.
Thousands went out to vote because of the tax issue on the ballot, thousands more did not because we knew our votes would not count, so why vote if you were not a homeowner?
Over 16,000 of us finally had an opportunity to meet Obama and his message resinates with us. So, if you think that we are going to risk putting our lives in the hands of McCain, you have another thought coming.
If Hillary really wanted to be fair to us, she would have never agreed to such a rule in the first place. Now that she needs us, she has turned herself into this great “imaginary,” fighter.
It will not work for us. If we were able to have a revote today, Hillary would be shocked with the results, belive me.
You as her supporters are pushing her and making her feel that she can’t let you all down. You do not care about Hillary, you are only trying to beat the man and have a woman in the WH.
It is sad, and as a woman myself, I feel sorry for her, because all of her pressure and ongoing embrassement comes from the women that support her, by putting so much pressure on her.
Soon after this, I think she will finally have a neverous breakdown from the pressure of the women supporting her. This is a sad day in American history.

Oh, and by the way — the Dem Party rules are WHO REACHES THE DELEGATE TOTAL!..not popular vote. She can keep trying to change the minds of the supers, but since May 7, he’s up well over 60 to her 7. I don’t think they like the way she’s trying to manipulate this whole thing.

And once again I will say this if she ruins the Democratic parties chances for a win this year for revenge, do you really think she will still have a political career or think we will forget in 4 years what she did and vote her in anyway? if you do you are as deranged as she is.

It would kind of put her out of business if the press quit traveling with her after the DNC gets this settled next week. It would be the sound of one hand clapping.

They are added in. What you want is for them to guesstimate how many people would have voted for Obama if it had been a primary. You guys want to give him votes and delegates that he didn’t get!

HILLARY FANS,
Who in the heck wants a president that is doing shots and beers in bars on camera?
Hey Hillary, how many shots and beers did you have to buy to win the primary in Puerto Rico (that doesn’t even count)???

Posted by: Davis | May 30, 2008, 1:49 am 1:49 am

He didnt get those votes or delegates and neither did she because THEY DONT HAVE THEM so the POPULAR VOTE isnt a fair count, and it doesnt really matter
Because its the DELEGATES.

I’m working class. I’m having a hard time paying my mortgage this month, but I still find a few bucks here and there to send to Obama’s campaign. Maybe you Hillary supporters should support your “candidate” past tense, and put your money where your mouth is. Doesn’t look like you’re doing a good job of it.

And looky what I found so so sad she cant run independent, she is affiliated with the Democratic party.
You may have your name placed on the general election ballot as an independent candidate if you are not affiliated with a political party. If you vote in a party’s primary elections or participate in a party’s conventions, you thereby affiliate with the party.

clinton/wright(Obama’s pastor Jeremiah Wright gave lots of advice to Bill Clinton)
Smarten up,if she loses the nomination she has a fraud trial which was postponed in L.A. until Nov. and if she is not the nominee she will face charges for lying on the witness stand. This is why the media did not report on it.There is a SLAP law to cover them till then.It involves her,Bill, and Chelsey as well as Governor Rendell in Pennsylvania. She’s only fighting for herself now.Had she became the nominee she would not have been able to be prosecuted. She doesn’t give a damn about the peple in MI or FL.

Posted by: Andrew O'Donnell | May 30, 2008, 3:27 am 3:27 am

Hillary Clinton has run a mean-spirted, mis-managed campaign. She continually tries to tear down Obama, even when he takes the high road and refuses to do what she does. It amazes me that a woman who lies to her constituents faces and calls it misspeak, gets such BLIND loyalty. That’s insulting all of our intelligence. Upon learning that lower income whites were not supporting her husband, she said “screw em.” Now all of a sudden, she’s telling them she’s their champion and a black man doesn’t understand “us.” It is so obvious that the million dollar madam is out of her element when she attempts to throw back a few with the average citizens. The only reason Hillary is fighting for MI and FL is self-serving. Before she was losing she said they wouldn’t count. In her math, she does not count caucus states because Obama won those. She has said any states Obama won were not important. I used to have great respect for Bill Clinton, and figured I would support his wife, too, until I saw her true colors. I am saddened that so many of my fellow citizens spew the hatred and lies she creates.

Posted by: THINK4URSELF | May 30, 2008, 3:37 am 3:37 am

I wish we saw Obama challenge Clinton’s more outrageous concerns. My fear is that he’ll allow the DNC to give her all of Mi an Florida delegates and then find that some of those superdelegates who switched to him were a decoy and are switching back.
I understand his silence is considered tactful, but letting the fire continue to burn is painfully reminiscent of Kerry being above responding to the Swift boat attack.

I don’t understand why people think Hillary has a chance in 2012. Win-at-any-cost Hillary has blown it! Her tricks and antics will not be soon forgotten. If she can come back in 2012, she will not be taken seriously by most folks, AA are through with her, the Dem establishment will not rally around her. I hate to break it to you Hillary supporters . . . but its over! Now and for the future. Hillary has closed the deal–she will never be President.

Blast Hillary all you want but this race really is essentially tied. Obama is slightly ahead and probably will be the nominee. But Obama folks remember nearly half the Dems like Hillary and you cannot win in November without them. I voted in Florida and I want the votes there to be counted. It is only fair. Both names were on the ballot and the voters did not set the primary early – the state legislators did that. It’s real simple, Obama can’t win without us and it I do not preceive fair and unbaiased treatment by the Democratic Party I will probably be on vacation in November for the first time in my life. I hope you enjoy the election.

Posted by: Bev | May 30, 2008, 7:03 am 7:03 am

To Jennifer, I am glad you mentioned the article on CNN and Baracks first campaign in Chicago. Could have done without the spin, though. What that article did show is his strength of character. He educated himself, knew, and followed the rules, pointing out where his opponent had not done so. There was even a gentleman who said he really didn’t want to, but it was necessary. This country does not need another president who feels they are above the law and can do what they want, telling the public whatever they feel they want to hear, and calling it mis-speak.
To the number of people who are urging Hillary to run as an independent or saying they will vote for McSame, this election will have implications for decades to come. Not just Roe V Wade, but many issues that affect women and the downtrodden. They will, likely be at least 3 Supreme Court Justices chosen over the next eight years. Also, our country is a laughing stock in international circles, do we really want to sink lower. American can and should be better. When you attack someone, at least arm with the truth.

Hillary Clinton is seriously hurting her credibility and making herself look foolish.
It is one thing to fight down to the wire for the nomination. It is another for someone who would be leader of the free world to be reduced to childish things like posting her ‘post primary schedule’ as some kind of ‘threat’ the day before the DNC meets.
Coupled with her RFK comment,it has turned a lot of people away from her in recent days.
From the things I have heard here in MA it is unlikely she would ever carry MA again in any primary or election.
RFK is a real person (we supported his candidacy; we mourned his death) to a lot of her base here/women over 50 and if we have to choose between our allegiance to the Kennedys (who have served this state and this nation so well) and our allegiance to the Clintons, it’s a pretty easy choice here.
And Hillary’s attempts to disparage Democratic leaders of today and those who have gone before her fall flat here.
Her campaign has taken a very dark turn.
One most of us wish we had never seen.

The democrats who say they will vote for McCain instead of Obama are an odd bunch of people.
It seems crazy to vote for that guy. He appears to be quite loony with a very bad temper and no real ideas.
I guess I could see if your were saying that you were going to vote for the McCain of 2000 but he has completely sold out every principle he had to get the nomination. And I do not think his brain appears to be working to good on top of that.
I mean if you were saying that you would vote for Clinton over Obama is she formed her own third party that would at least make more sense on account of how passionately so many of Clinton’s supporters feel about her. But a vote for McCain just seems insane.

People want to focus so much on Clinton with their bashing and trashing. What those people STILL fail to realize is that OVER 1/2 of Dem voters want her as the nominee. Their continual mudslinging…and juvenile name calling and sarcastic comments…only alienate those voters more. These are people, who for the majority of them, have been lifelong democrats. They are disgusted in their party for more than just the fact that Clinton will likely not be the nominee. There are larger issues here, including the far left direction that they are headed. In case this is news..which for some I am sure it is as they obviously show their immaturity through their postings…the MAJORITY of Americans, both dems and republicans fall in the middle of the political spectrum.
Look up the presidential history…when the Dems lost. What you will see are candidates from the far left, who promise change. Deja vu I say.
The fact is, even those who did not vote for Clinton see this, including the undecideds…which there are quite a few. One would think from their point of view, the Obama supporters blogging here look like nothing more than young and nasty people who only care about winning/losing. It is like the election is nothing more than a sporting event.
I suggest that those who actually believe that Obama will be the next President take a hard look at what their candidate is all about. Appearances can be deceiving. The GE is a whole lot different than the primary, where you mostly have only Dems voting since many states hold closed primaries.
Obama is going to have big problems come November when he can’t even convince many in his OWN party to vote for him. With his supporters answering this by calling those voters racists and uneducated only confirms my thoughts that he will surely lose and the Republicans will remain in the White House.
The prevailing belief is that we are Americans first, Democrats second.

Posted by: Raleigh Voter | May 30, 2008, 11:10 am 11:10 am

Yes Marlon, I agree
Obama’s campaign have shown better strategies. They came up with a “brand”, played the race card and have shown they practice the same old politics.
How gullible voters are. I mean this is basically a repeat of George W…the more “likable” candidate. Why do people continue to vote for cocaine users? for inexperienced men?
The difference though…Obama is unelectable.

Anne and the others,
FL and MI should not count b/c the DNC decided it so. The states new what they were doing. The party told them the consequences, and now it is a big deal only b/c it is a close primary. If this would have been a blow out no one would care that the states would be missing the “Democratic process”.
Get a grip. I hope this rationality of yours isn’t a microcosm of how people raise their kids in this country. If it is, it is no wonder why so many kids are so messed up and on meds. Like parents, the party established a boundary; like kids, the states crossed it, and now the consequences that was forwarned needs to be enforced. If the DNC cannot stand up for themselves, the conservatives are going to have field day with this b/c it is another example of all talk and no action.
BTW, I will support either Dem candidate; they are both very strong candidates.

It doesn’t matter what they do when the primaries are over or Saturday; Hillary Clinton is going to the convention. She will never quit willingly; if there is any way she can get the presidency she thinks she deserves she will split the party, alienate Democrats, whatever it takes to win. She is obsessive about the presidency, and someone who wants it that much should NEVER be president. It scares me how close we came to having her finger on the nuclear button; I think at this point she’s not playing with a full deck!

Some people are too stubborn to do the research. Obama more than qualified. He has held elected office longer than her. He has written more legislation on the environment, the economy, and anti-weapons proliferation in his short time in “national” politics than in her entire career. Sure she’s educated, experienced, qualified, and tenacious but she’s also bad for this country. And obviously hurting the party. These claims of his ignorance are ludicrous. These are attacks made by people too lazy to do the research themselves. Give our candidate a chance, and please don’t sentence me to more of republican control because of your pride.

IF MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA’S VOTES AND DELEGATES ARE NOT COUNTED, MR. OBAMA WINS THE NOMINATION FIGHT.
I HATE TO BE THE ONE TO SAY THIS, BUT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY IS NO ONE FAMILY’S PERSONAL FIEFDOM. PEOPLE WILL NEED TO REALIZE THIS OR ALL OF OUR DEEPLY HELD IDEALS WILL NOT BE REALIZED. IN 1992, THEN CANDIDATE BILL CLINTON ATTEMPTED TO DRAW THE CONTEST TO A CLOSE AFTER THE LAST CONTESTS. IN 2008, PRESENT CANDIDATE BARACK OBAMA WISHES TO DRAW THE CONTEST TO A CLOSE AFTER THE LAST CONTESTS. THE QUESTION REMAINS, WILL OPPONENT HILLARY CLINTON PERMIT HIM THIS?

Either Democratic candidate is better than McCain. What seems to be eluding the posters here, or has been pushed so far back in their minds as if to hide it away in some dark closet, is that the Republicans HATE Hillary Clinton with a mind-boggling hatred. The Republicans are not ga-ga happy about McCain as their nominee. But put Clinton on the Democratic ticket, then all of a sudden, your closet door will open and all the horrible partisan nightmares of the Republicans vs. the Clintons will be too late.

If Hillary manages the country the way she managed her campaign then we are doomed. She has proved to be totally out of touch with current affairs, what people want and how the political arena is changing internationally and she wants to continue with the old failed policies of yester years, her husband was president for 8 years and she has been the senator for 2 terms, what has she done fo PR, where are the jobs she promised New Yorkers, oh I see since she was counting on Algore to be the president she was not able to deliver.

Have you ever played a game with selfish, insolent, petulant, spoiled little child. You know the kind that changes the rules and finally flips the game over and storms away blaming you when the end has become evident even through their morass of denial. That child has more of a sense of fair play than Hillary and her supporters do. Hillary has run a campaign that makes Turdblossom blush with her use of fear, intimidation, racism, sexism, lies, half-truths, parsing, pandering and playing the victim after committing the crime. Obama keeps tap dancing in a minefield trying to give Hillary her propers and she keeps poisoning the well. Hillary and her supporters are going to do to the Democrat brand what Bush has done to the Republican brand, divide and ruin. Hillbots who vote Republican obviously don’t care about the Democratic Party, America’s future, Earth’s future, the lives of our troops or their reproductive rights. These are either very stupid or very thoughtless people. I thought only Bushies were that vindictive. Hillary, you make me sick!

Here’s the deal. If Clinton takes this to the convention, steals the nomination, and looses in November, she won’t even be able to retain her Senate seat. If she takes this to the convention and looses to Obama, her Senate seat is gone anyway. She may as well fight like the dog she is–go all the way lady; you’ve already destroyed any chance that this country will finally have a fair president since Jimmy Carter. Thanks so much. I’d rather see McCain as president than Clinton, and trust me, there are millions of people just like me out there. Clinton should watch her political back as McCain is LHAO and ROTMFF. Dang.

I see there are some people here who have failed to grasp the intricacies of how Texas assigns it’s delegates. According to the rules for that state, they have both a primary AND a caucus. One was close, one Obama won handily, hence he got more delegates.
As far as the Michigan and Florida situation, the delegates should be allowed to attend the convention, to work with an try to persuade anyone still on the fence, but they should NOT be allowed to cast votes to determine the nominee. The rules were clearly laid out before the MI and FL primaries, and understood by both the candidates and the voters.
I’m an independent from Michigan, and while I plan to vote democratic in the fall, I participated in the GOP primary, since they were seating half the MI delegates and it was the only way my vote could effect the process in either party. It’s unfortunate that the Dem delegates won’t have a vote, but to change things now based on a totally bogus vote is SO not the answer…

I hear ALOT of people say Hillary should abide by the DNC “rules” and bow out of the election.
I guess it depends on who makes up the rules?
THE SUPREME COURT AND THE CONSTITUTION SAY EVERY AMERICAN HAS THE RIGHT TO HAVE THEIR VOTE COUNT!!
Florida should have ALL their delegates seated.Michigan should be a REVOTE,(Since Obama
took his name off the ballot),or ALL the delegates should be seated,(it’s Obamas fault he took his name off the ballot, probably because he knew he’d lose anyway!)
