Obama-rama Veepstakes-a-Go-Go
EmailFormer Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle’s new TV ad for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, in South Dakota, further fuels speculation about his vice presidential chances.
Andrew Sullivan, meanwhile, looks at Sens. Jim Webb, D-Va., and Chuck Hagel, R-Neb Marc Ambinder makes a list and ruminates about the decision-making process.
Conservative columnist Bob Novak hammers Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as too associated with abortion and says former Virginia Gov, Mark Warner is being considered.
Then there are the less traditional picks. Lex Luthor, Martian John McCain, a kitty.

It is an outrage that Sen. Clinton will not be considered for the VP Position.
Tom Daschle did not campaign for a year,
raise and spend millions of dollars, and get millions of people to vote for him to get the VP spot. No one did but Hillary. This is why people are so very upset at the disrespect Sen. Clinton is getting. It’s like watching the super bowl. The team that went 18-0 and lost the most important game, is the biggest loser. I see a corralation between the New England Patriots and Obama.

It cannot be Richardson. Richardson will help with the Hispanic vopte, but the Democrats always win the Hispanic vote anyway. Obama needs help with working, blue collar whites. He needs to pick a white guy to balance out the ticket. Besides, Richardson is a lousy politician and an atrocious debater. He also needs to pick someone that can help him carry Virginia just incase he doesn’t carry Ohio. Keep an eye on Webb. Webb makes too much sense for him to pass up on. If Obama carries Virginia, McCain has no shot. Right now he leads McCain by 7 points in Virginia. Webb will secure Virginia. I don’t like the fact that Webb has been married 3 times, but McCain is on his second marriage, so that might be a wash.

The sad part of all this is I would not mind Hilary as president!, but Obama will be disastrous and try to take away all our freedoms, because we will not know who his puppet master is!!

Wesley Clark or Joe Biden would be ideal. They answer the foreign policy experience issue and the old white male issue. He doesn’t need a VP to wine over any particular region of the country. his campaign skills how that he is capable.

No matter how you spin, I am not going to vote for any ticket with Obama on the top. I do not think any ticket with Obama on the top can win the general election anyway.

It doesn’t really matter who Obama picks, he is still going to lose.
As much as I would like to see Hillary on the Democratic ticket in November, I don’t think she needs to be playing second fiddle. And even with her ON the ticket, I still don’t feel Obama has a chance.
I would sincerely hope that General Clark has better sense than to climb aboard the Obama train wreck.
I do think that Hillary and General Clark would make a lovely Independent ticket. For all of her loyalty over the years to the Democratic Party, I don’t think she owes them a darn thing anymore.

I thought some months ago that having Hillary on the ticket would be a plus for Obama. Now I see it is a minus for Hillary. No matter how this goes, we will need her in four years, so don’t damage her career by putting her on a losing ticket.
Let Pelosi have the credit for the results this fall. She wants it and by golly, she deserves it.

I hope Hillary runs as an Independent. I am not sure she should take the VP spot if it is offered to her. It might squash her chances in 2012.

Josh, don’t tell me you still trust polls. There are as many different results as there are pollsters. And how many times have they been wrong this year? Well at least two important times — none saw Obama and McCain as the eventual nominees back in January! Who did most of them pick? Hillary and Giuliani, as I recall. Let’s wait and see what the voters decide!

It doesn’t matter who he chooses, I will never vote for him. He has run a dirty, manipulative campaign and tried to twist words and place blame where it didn’t belong. Those are not traits I consider “change” in politics. He personifies the old politcs he claims to want to change, and I seriously doubt much will change at all if he is elected. Better to go with a known quantity like McCain than someone with his personal connections which raise lots of unknowns. Doesn’t anyone else think it convenient that Rev. Wright has completely dropped out of sight since Obama’s “staged” press conference where he expressed his outrage? It’s all political folks, he’s no different than any other politician…probably better at it actually since he learned his political lessons from the best political machine Chicago has to offer.

I was pushing for Senator Clinton for VP.
Now I have second thoughts.
Given the media misrepresentation of what she said on the RFK assasination, she would for ever be held responsible if God forbid something were to happen to President Obama.
Now I am afraid she may even say NO for the reason above if the VP slot were to be offered to her.
What a shame, for this would have been an unbeatable ticket.

When the primary season ends, Hillary Clinton will have a decisive victory in the electoral college and a strong claim to a win in the popular vote. She runs better against McCain and is gaining strength. Of course, the Dem Party leadership may still hand it to Obama. But isn’t that what they do best — find a way to lose presidential elections!

So If Obama is about change and not doing things the old Washington way, do you all realise that he can offer the VP position to any Sentor, Governor or House Member, they are all part of the old way. Tom Dashal was majority and minorty leader tell me how he is not part of the old way. How long has Bidden and Dodd been part of they system. So that leaves newbies who have just as much experince as Obama has, great, so much for throwing out all the talent.

Obama will probably pick “Judas” as his running mate, even though Jeremiah Wright has already said that he wants to be vice-president.
Of course, since Obama likes audacity, and because his cult followers will support him no matter what he says or does, I would not be surprised if Obama picks Bill Ayers or Oprah to be his running mate.
Especially, Oprah, since he already promised he will do so.
