Wendy4Decency, My opinions are what they are…I cannot see wasting a vote on Hillary Clinton as a write in. I expect any Democrat, be it Obama, Clinton, or anyone else to govern like a Democrat. So, while you may be an Independent (and lean Democrat as I) writing in Hillary is a pointless exercise and really defeating your own self interests. In my mind, there will be no real difference between Obama or Hillary once elected except that (for me personally)I will have a little more trust in Obama based on the Clintons track record for truth and slickness. McCain is no real option since he intends to continue Republican priorities and Bush policies. He just will manage them a little differently.

The comments on writing in Hillary’s name on the ballot are very misleading. Every state has its own rules, and some states it is illegal to write-in, so is this perhaps Obama supporters trying to get you to vote and have it not mean anything?
Please go to writehillaryin.com and see what the rules are for write-in votes – all states are listed.
But that assumes Obama is the nominee, and we all know that’s not true, so let’s not put the cart before the horse here. Hillary is the one who can beat McCain in November, and hopefully the Dems will see it and make the right choice.

He was also asked if he had communicated with Senator Obama and his response was yes, many times. Still further, Obama could be considering him for Secretary of Defense and also William Cohen (both Republicans). Obama has promised to cross party lines and that’s exactly what he is doing.
You sound as if you admire Powell but if he was running for President, your tune would change drastically.
Your talk is to deter anyone from believing that your hatred of Obama is race and no other reason. You are jealous of his standing in the world.
You are a white man who feels you should be entitled before Obama. You and Hillary share the same thought processes.

Jenkins…did you know that in the GENERAL’S last interview he said, “It’s a historic moment and it’s pretty exciting. A woman, a black man who started out his life in Indonesia, has a father from Africa, Mrs. Clinton with great experience, and John McCain, a great American hero who served this country so brilliantly over the years both in war and in peace.
And, so, if this is the way it shapes up when we finally sort it all out, the American people will be given a couple of good candidates to look at, good candidates who mean the best for America. And the American people will have to make a judgment on their political philosophy, and on what kind of party they represent and what kind of leadership they will bring to America for the next four years”. Does that sound like an endorsement of obama. POWELL certainly didn’t offer any disrespect towards any of the candidates…in other words, don’t try to make it sound like the GENERAL is on the obama wagon. He’s NOT.

Please someone TELL ME WHAT DID THE CLINTONS DO SO SPECIAL FOR BLACKS THAT HE DIDN’T DO FOR THE WHITES- for some reason I cannot figure it out. Obama isn’t winning because he is Black or biracial-Its because he is SMARTER THAN CLINTON-WHO IS BEHIND AND IN DEBT- NOT OBAMA–What does being smarter have to do with being white or black-geraldine at her age needs a life.
