He strikes me as exceedingly paranoid. First, he poops his pants over the idea that he might be attacked for flip-flopping. Talk about not being able to take the heat!
Then he has time to “wiki” himself in the middle of his big moment in the sun. He’s worried about what bloggers are doing to his page. Are you kidding me with this?
The Clinton people have not attacked him because he’s too small a fish– how many former DNC chairs are floating around at the convention, anyway?
Enjoy your 15 seconds– you’ll be trying to flip-flop back after Tuesday.

I think it’s much ado about nothing. People are going to vote for the one who impresses them the most, and this guy is obviously doing the most politically expedient thing (in his opinion). That’s not how the average American will make their decision. Most voters are looking at character and issues, and right now Obama is not looking very presidential. He is, however, looking very much like the politician he is. Amazingly, Hillary is the one above the fray, taking the heat from her detractors and still making more sense than anyone left standing. She too is a politician, but she knows how to withstand, and she will be the one to take them all on in November. She’s the only one who can do it and win.

Question for Joe Andrew -aren’t you troubled over your deflection and call for superdelegates to disenfranchise the voters?

Posted by: geevill | May 1, 2008, 12:06 pm 12:06 pm

How could we know what’s going behind the scene? Trust? Absolutely not.

Posted by: Allison | May 1, 2008, 12:07 pm 12:07 pm

This guy will jump on to the winning team every time. That’s what this indicates. Now is the time for Super delegates to move to Clinton and not the other way because circumstances indicate that Obama is a bad general election candidate and the Wright connection is the gift that keeps on giving come November to the republicans.
It would have made sense if he had jumped before the March primaries. He did not, not because he didn’t want to, but because team Obama wanted to spring him just before the Indiana primary.
Bill Richardson, this guy and Bob Casey are big time losers who signed their political obituaries.

Posted by: Roger Miller | May 1, 2008, 12:08 pm 12:08 pm

The superdelegates obviously believe that Obama will get past the negatives that have hit him recently and will be the better president. Personally, I can’t believe people (and the media – let’s not forget the power of the media in all this) are continuing to hang on “bitter” and Rev. Wright. Obama has the absolutely right idea about how to do things, how to change things for the better in this country. He has run a really, really good campaign, both administratively and financially, and has been consistent in his message. Clinton has increasingly come off as a shark with her fangs bared, has switched gears so many times it makes me dizzy, and I have come to understand why people see her as dishonest and manipulative. Obama’s style – relatively low key, conciliatory – will be much better for our country in the long run. His stance on the gas tax holiday is right on, no phoney stuff here. And, he will bring our kids home from Iraq. No question about it.

Posted by: counting crows | May 1, 2008, 12:09 pm 12:09 pm

Clinton supporters will not allow the nomination to be awarded without a vote. If the DNC want Obama they will have to elect him at the convention and also not count FL and MI.

geevill writes:
“I make of it Joe Andrew is a hyprocrite and is not telling the truth behind his switch. Who wrote the letter for him? It smacks of an Obama speech. read this from February 13, 2008 -The last paragraph is key.”
I’d guess blackmail/extortion of some kind. The Obamas’ “Chicago” soul is showing in recent days, especially in the press conference and in the Michelle Obama interview with Caroline Kennedy.
“Black” mobsters are still mobsters. John Edwards or bust. In the meantime, here’s hoping every Democrat in North Carolina votes for Clinton.

This is why he defected from Hillary-ites:
The ABC web unit and television must be completely separate companies. Did anybody else see the national news about Hillary and her commercial that’s another Bosnia moment? LOL The short story is that she is blaming Bush for the sale of a company and its sensitive technology called Magnaquench to the Chinese. The trouble is that the Clinton administration approved the sale. The Billeries have said “its Bush’s fault because he should have stopped it.” In the best ending to a news story Hillary says “I hope the next President remembers Magnaquench.”
What an idiot.

This guy better watch his back. There was already one traitor (Richardson) to the HRC machine. I suspect that HRC will do whatever she will have to do to stop defection.

To Joe Andrew who said this in February
“Iwould be troubled if either she or Barack Obama actually became the nominee because superdelegates decided, opposed to actual voters going to the polls and pulling the lever.”
is not the Joe Andrew who today is paranoid about Clinton attack dogs. What gives? ABC hope you can find out the truth.

That’s nice Jonathan!
I wil do the same in return if Hillary gets the nomination. Thats exactly why the party is divided. you obviusoly hate and dispize Obama while I do not hat Hilary I jsut do not want a liar, cheat and a rule changer for President. At least McCain is honest!

I’m here in Indianapolis and believe me gang his flip flopping like BO is no big deal. He may be a super delegate but he has no clout here to sway voters. Most people don’t even know who he is because he hasn’t done jack for us Hoosiers. He isn’t doing anything now & is looking for a job that he thinks he will get from BO but that won’t happen either!
Hoosiers for Hillary!!

Posted by: rockthebleachers | May 1, 2008, 12:22 pm 12:22 pm

It will be great to see him try to weasel his way back in. Quinnipiac today find that Hillary is up by double-digits vs. McCain in PA, FL and OH; while Obama is barely holding his own.
Don’t worry Joe, it’s a big tent and there’s room enough for everyone, even those who left and came back!

Posted by: commonsensenj | May 1, 2008, 12:23 pm 12:23 pm

You’re going to see a lot more of this.
People understand Obama’s substance over Hillary’s pandering prevaricating style.
She’s pretty much out of this race.

It’s just a blessing for Senator Hillary Clinton its good redance as a matter of fact. They might be pretending to be your friend and supporter but they really have a different agenda of there own. It’s good to have a loyal friend and good people in your capaign.

Those who were working with Bill Clinton, know the Clintons better than the rest of us.
They (SD) supported them to my opinion right from the beginning, just to give them the benefit of doubt.
As the campaign has dragged on for the long time, and the Clintons reminded them (SD) that they are still the same, thats why we see they are abandoning them now.

Jonathan Like I have said to other don’t let the door hit you in the butt on your way out of the dem party…How you could vote for 4 more years of bushg or a liar, backstabbing wench will do nothing of what hse has said .She tells you guys just what you want to hear and never follows thro. Her big gas station bit a ploy her factory speach shoots her self in the foot nice going Billy///I think the switch to Obama ia a good move

Posted by: honest | May 1, 2008, 12:28 pm 12:28 pm

Andrew realizes that if the superdelegates give the nomination to Hillary even if she has less pledged delegates and popular vote at the end of the primary season, she can essentially kiss the GENERAL ELECTION GOODBYE, for the Dem party will LOSE the African-American vote not only for this election but for many elections to come. Also, the growth of the party with the youth vote gone would be very bad.
That’s the reality.

Posted by: Stacey | May 1, 2008, 12:29 pm 12:29 pm

It’s great to see Bob Casey, Bill Richardson, and now Joe Andrew have the courage to go against the clinton-machine. They all see the potential in Obama and how he can bring this country together. 28 years of a “clinton or bush” in the “1 or 2 spot” is a long time, let’s all have the courage for some real change. Obama 2008!

Posted by: pt | May 1, 2008, 12:29 pm 12:29 pm

Stacey,
Actually Joe Andrew said the opposite is about 10 weeks ago
For Andrew, who headed the Indiana Democratic Party in the 1990s before being appointed national party chairman in 1999, the superdelegate system is a potential tragedy.
“I think we could lose the presidency over this,” he said, if the superdelegates end up being the deciding factor in the party’s nominee.
“Anything that looks like a backroom deal,” Andrew said, would give the GOP nominee ammunition to accuse the Democratic Party of being non-democratic. “The worst thing that could happen is the superdelegates’ votes actually count.”
Andrew thinks the superdelegates ought to promise to vote for the candidate who has accumulated the most votes – not delegates – in the primaries

Posted by: geevill | May 1, 2008, 12:31 pm 12:31 pm

That’s a good one, Honest. I believe it is BO that is a liar. The NAFTA/Canada and the Powers about the war are just a couple of things the BO is lying about to you about. Take the blinders off!

How arrogant is he thinking anybody would waste the energy launching a response to him. I guess everybody wants their 15 minutes of fame – this isn’t even worth 15 seconds. Some people are so full of themselves – kind of like the man he is endorsing.

This smells like a panic move by the obama camp. Clinto nis going to trash Obama in Indiana and could pull an upset in NC which would destroy Obama.
So they find a white guy they can buyout who does a 180 from his very own words with an oddly worded letter instead of a verbal endorsment.

Posted by: geevill | May 1, 2008, 12:37 pm 12:37 pm

It’s just a transparent attempt by the Obama campaign to stop Hillary’s momentum and goad the Clintons into a fight, because he knows he’s in trouble and headed towards an embarrassing defeat Tuesday.
Hopefully, the Clinton campaign will not take the bait.
Obama’s last chance to close is Tuesday and he knows it. The momentum and the next few weeks heavily favor Clinton. Unfortunately, these super delegate attacks aren’t going to work because Obama is unelectable.
The superdelegates know that if they hand this thing to Obama before everybody has a chance to vote they will infuriate every Clinton voter in the country. They’d be advised to tread carefully.

I mean, its ok to turn on the clintons for your political gain or whatever the REAL reason is, but then you come beg the clinton supporters for their vote in November??????
How?????

The system of primaries and delegates is supposed to determine the best possible candidate that enhances our chances of victory for our party in November. WE NEED A NEW SYSTEM. Our primary elections stretch out 6 months and my o my how situations and circumstances have changed during that time period. Under the present system, either candidate that is nominated will be damaged goods, and in fact, may not even be the strongest candidate that may have been available. Here’s hoping our party leaders find a way to agree on a new primary election system that will present us with the best chance of winning a November race.

You Clintonites are something. You accuse Obama supporters of being cultists and acting like he is some kind of savior but you are doing the same thing with your candidate, Clinton. There are people saying that they are going to vote for McCain and all that mess if Obama wins (to be fair, some Obama supporters say the same thing about Clinton if she wins). Then some of you are upset that Wright is becoming old news. Well, what candidate wants scandals to be in the news? Didn’t Clinton try to change the subject after her Bosnia slip? Didn’t she try to change the subject after Mr. Mark Penn slipped? Frankly, I don’t understand why Wright has gotten so much media coverage. No presidential candidate in history has ever had their pastors or previous pastors vetted like this. It’s insane. A lot of Blacks are angry at America for its wrong-doings. That is not news. WE ALL KNOW THIS. Obama is clearly not Anti- American, but if you are a black man living in America, you have family, friends or gap pastors that do not share the same views as you do. The media is heading down a dark path — and so is the country. Clinton, the GOP and the media are dividing the country in ways that are going to be irrepairable. I hope you guys sleep well at night with your fat paychecks.

Interesting article in Wall Street Journal today that noted that not one of a huge list of those who had endorsed Obama actually came to his defense now that his various problems of Wright and the Weatherman group plus other “little white lies” have been exposed. Looks as if many more have jumped ship on him. Guess they should have vetted their candidate before they promoted him. At least we all know that Hillary and Bill’s various flaws have been vetted into insignificance ad nauseoum. I assume that those who research flaws will find a bunch in McCain also. I find that there is a particular level of low class that mainly looks for anything that has a sexual connotation. All I can say is “it takes one to know one”, and it is what makes us the laughing stock of Europeans, who couldn’t care less who sleeps with who in the government and thinks the U.S. is paved with puritans.

These back stabbers will turn on Obama faster than they turned on Clinton. If you think the Wright matter is closed you got a another thing coming. I wonder why Joe is anticipating the Clinton machine will come after him? Richardson was singled out by James Carville for saying one thing privately and doing another in the open. Carville made it clear, it came from him and not the Clinton campaign. If Joe has nothing to hide and his decision is not motivated by anything that may have been promised, he should be free to go with his conscience which is sadly misplaced. For the life of me, I just don’t see what is pushing these Supers to endorse in the middle of these controversies. I have a feeling the Dem. leadership is more concerned about a moral victory of nominating an African American as a justification for their big tent positions than actually winning in Nov. In that case, the Bush Cheney era continues for another 4 years.

Whose words will he be using to bring the “party together” and “unite” for the good of the country? Reverend Wrights, or the new, just as hateful, Reverend Otis? There is something terribly wrong with what is happening with the Obama campaign, it just all seems so bizarre and strange. Who are we uniting for? Possibly Obama and his Chicago “cronies” and billionaire supporters? We need to unite to make the ultra rich New Left Wing Democratic Party even richer? It seems there must be a Marlon Brando character somewhere orchestrating all of this.

To Fontapa: Maybe you have been sleeping through this campaign, but Obama doesn’t have any orignal thoughts or words – hence the No Debat Rule now in effect. Obama gives speeches using other peoples’ words. Where is the action that follows his words? Either under the bus with granny or in the basement with the Reverend.

WOW!!! you guys are trying to smear Andrews now?? I’m sure you thought he was an upstanding guy when he was supporting Clinton. Now he is a Traitor?? This is exactly the reason that no one likes Clinton or her supporters. You guys smear anyone that diagrees with you on who should be President. If we are not for Clinton, we are gainst her (sounds familiar huh?). Luckily, we live in a democracy where everyone can vote the way they feel, regardless of whom favors are owed. You guys say the system is undemocratic, well, this system has been in place for one hundred years but Clinton and her supporters complain because 1) She is losing to that system when the rules were set and understood from go, and 2) You guys did not know or care to know how the system worked for the past few decades and now you want to cry foul??!!! Sorry, can’t change the rules once the game has started. Stop being so bitter and act like adults. There is such a thing as losing gracefully.

Andrew did a good thing. As was implied: a vote for Hillary, at this point in the nomination race, is tantamount to a vote for McCain in the general. We need to unite our Party and demonstrate a United front against John McCain
Under the rules of the Democratic Party, this is a “delegate race” and the winner is clear. Joe Andrew did the right thing.

Hillary thought she would have the nomination by now, but why are people switching sides? is there a problem with them that we are not beign told…

what’s cool is that Obama’s troubles

Vote Hillary08!

This is to democrats united that told the Clinton supporters to stop being so bitter – oh, but we are bitter, and clinging to our guns and religion. And its Andrews that is smearing Clinton and delivering a low blow right before a primary – really not the kind of politics of hope and change that Obama preaches to us about. Obama plays down and dirty Chicago politics, politics of expediency and politics of lying!

Posted by: rs | May 1, 2008, 2:00 pm 2:00 pm

ok, so not only is he a rat
he is a chicken too.
He should not be so worried about the clinton attack dogs
the clinton voters will say it all either on next tuesday
or in nov.
and another think-all of these black pundits or whatever they call themselves
getting on tv. talking about black people will not vote for sen. clinton if obama does not win.
well, let them be left out of the process.
the only people who will suffer are the black people.
mlk would not support this kind of attitude anymore than he would support voting for a person because of the color of their skin.
what irony,
obama does not want to be the RACE candidate-he has really tried to stay as far away from the black people as possible
but
the black obama supporters want it all to be about race.
let the country go down in flames but you better put the black dude in.

To the Clinton supporters who claim she is more electable:
Doesn’t it alarm you that the only time she performs well is when Obama is under attack for something? Whether he deserves the attack or not, she can’t seem to do anything to improve her appeal against him when she needs to. The only time she seems to edge up on him is when he’s in a crisis.
With national “trust” numbers in the toilet, this could be a huge liability in the fall. If she can’t do anything to raise her approval, she’ll have to “hope” that McCain has enough scandals and gaffes to bump him below her.
You guys say Obama is a risk…

Mr. Andrews went with his concience, and not for political gain. I applaud his courage and hope that the other Super-D’s will take the time to read his very well thought out letter to them. We need to unite the party now to win in November.

Posted by: Peggy | May 1, 2008, 2:02 pm 2:02 pm

Every time Obama gets in trouble he pulls out new superdelegates, has a huge rally, and throws in a few fainting women.
His reputation is in the tank, and anyone with common sense can see that.
Someone should ask Michelle if she betrayed Rev.Wright and Trinity Church.
Not everyone wants to move on. Many of us still want the truth.

Joe Andrew is looking for a job in Obama’s administration should he win the presidency and so is Bill Richardson. Joe Andrew knows already Hillary wouldn’t give him the time of day or Bill Richardson. Both are back-stabbers and are looking out for themselves. I don’t believe Obama will win the nomination and if he does I hope McCain landslides him and sends him back to his senate seat which he is lucky to be a senator. He has the public fooled by his speeches that are the speeches of RFK from RFK’s speech book. Obama doesn’t have the capabilities to run this country and wouldn’t know what to do from day one. Plus the white people should wake up and vote for their own like the black people do. But this generation of drugs and booze can’t think straight and feels that Obama is one of them because he did the same in college. What a background. The worst ever.

this man shows guts and vision… I applaud that… but Its sad to see how divisive the other candidate has become.. she continues to sink lower and seeminly will stop at nothing for power…. it actually terrifies me to hear a presidential candidate say they will obliterate a nation… it sickens me that she voted for war and has done little against it… they say her platform is similar.. but her attitude is not.. her experience counts for nothing.. if so much of it is bad…

One of the greatest ironies of Obama’s campaign is the stark contrast of his message of hope and unity, versus the message of his spiritual mentor and former campaign advisor Reverend Wright. Possible an even greater irony may soon be revealed. Maybe Obama’s infamous “speech” against the war had nothing to do with his own personal feelings or thoughts about the war, but with some other interest in Iraq. Plus, when does Obama ever give a speech that are in his own words? It’s just something to think about while pondering why Obama’s campaign is so destructive to Hillary while preaching hope and unity….

Lou: You are so right. Joe is a joke and he has reasons behind him for switching candidates. Hate comment’s for the Clinton’s is nothing but pure jealousy because they set their goals in life and accomplished them making millions. If those hater’s did the same thing they could be millionaires today however it appears their goals failed. Obama set his goals after he became an attorney for a crooked businessman named Rezko who put up the money for Obama’s home. Did Obama visit him in jail? I guess not. He abandoned him. And Ayers the three time bomber who lives next door to Obama. They had dinner together and Ayers gave a donation to Obama. Close ties to Farrakhan and a fake speech denouncing Wright having the public fooled by it. I am not that easy fooled by him. He was a salesman at once time and knows how to sell the public. And its this stupid generation that is voting for him knowing he belonged to a racial church and Wright was anti-american. I wonder how many college students are anti-american besides Michelle Obama who said I like America now.

Jack: No, Obama got what he deserved and Wright did it at the right time. Obama should have left that anti-american racist church after the first sermon but he didn’t and stayed 20 years. That leads me to believe Barack and Michelle were anti-american themselves and maybe still are. Didn’t Michelle say she likes America now. They do not like white people but Obama is using the whites for votes and after that forget it. He doesn’t even go to all black neighborhoods to talk to the black people. If the black people think he is going to do something for them their fooling themselves. Obama doesn’t care about them. He needs their votes and they are dumb enough to vote for him like most of this generation of whites.

Any superdelegate that would switch for Obama now that all his weaknesses are glaringly apparent, has obviously been promised something or has been bought. Memo to Obama bashers…
First you wanted him to denounce Wright’s comments- he did. Then you wanted him to divorce himself from Wright- he did. And now you’re still not satisfied. What’s next- you want Obama to go toilet paper Wright’s house? Do donuts in his front yard with his car? Geez…
Let’s look at character- the worst one can say about Obama’s character is that he MIGHT be like Wright or Ayers. Yes, he might- but then again, he might not, and with nothing in his record that indicates he shares the views of either of those two men, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. Clinton, on the other hand, has left us no doubt as to her charecter- she has a long history of proven lies, deceit, demonizing others, and ignoring rules and laws if they impeded her ambitions.
Given the choice, I’ll avoid the devil I know, since the devil I know is still a devil…

As Hillary gets stronger and stronger, Obama looks weaker and weaker. Because of his lack of experience Obama will have a hard time winning the presidency. If he does win, however, he will be a weak president. He will be captive to every nickle and dime interest group in the Far Left; and first in line will be Rev. Wright. He will not be able to get anything done because he does not have effective negotiating and debating skills. His Obamabots swoon and faint at the big speeches, but congressmen, senators, and governors will not join his adoring fans. Campaigning may have become an extension of American Idol but governing is not.
A vote for Obama is a vote for an Obama-nation.

More on Andrew’s “spy-thriller”. Just substitute “superdelegate” for “superpower”. (Note: Andrew’s character “T.C. Steele” is named for the impressionist painter from Indiana):
‘In the world of espionage, knowledge is power. And beautiful, brilliant Rebecca Townsend who has suddenly gone AWOL from the National Security Ageny has a great deal of knowledge. Far more than any one person should have.
For Rebecca belongs to the BUNDT [emphasis added] family, a family of twelve, bankers and information-brokers since World War II, whose descendants, like the Disciples, are now preparing to convert the world to their creed. Their weapon: the accumulated secrets of the superpowers. Their aim: to literally blackmail them into securing world peace.
An agent with his own unique talents is called out of retirement to track Rebecca down, and a nail-biting game of cat and mouse begins. The result could be the end of superpower conflict – or the detonation of World War III…’

The most corrupt politican in the last 100 years is still making deals and lying to get elected. George Bush’s ratings will be considered high when the citizens of the USA have a chance to evalute Obama if elected. He threw his pastor away like a used tissue after using him and the members of his church to get elected in the first place. Barack Obama smells like a carp that has been left out in the sun 2 days. He will do anything to get elected, not to help Americans but he wants the power. His outrage at Rev. Wright was a sham. Obama believes the same thing. He is a Marxist and a racial divider, regardless of what he says on the campaign trail. God save America if Obama is elected.

well rosy,
you should help stop the coronation of obama.
and then maybe we can unite.
there are more question marks about obama than anyone who has ever run for president.
here is the big piture to show just how wash. will not change with obama
the dnc, plelosi, and co. know that with sen. clinton in office their big deal making schemes are off. because she doe not owe them anything.
but with obama-well=he is fresh meat
for them to slice and dice as they please.
he will be owing so many people favors that nothing will get done for the american people. the on part of transparancy about obama is it is apparent he will belong to the wash. est. and he will soon find out how things really are. he could not even manage rev. wright and their 20 year relationship. he is underqualfied to run this country,
sen. clinton supporter are begging for the process to play out fair and square for the sake of the country.
obama supporters-are begging for the process to play out so the black man can win. that is what it is all about
let the black man win.
mr. obama has inspired people to vote for him-and then they will do what?
sen. clinton has said all along WE need to work together to get right done.
obama campaign for the white house is all about him.
and if you think he is clear of trinity church and it will not come up in the fall. check out the new preacher of obama’ church.
rev. wright taught hate for yesterday
moss the third is teaching hate for today and tomorrow.
obama cannot get rid of the teachings he has learned over the last 20years.
he is a confused man-and the thing about it is what kind of judgement does he have that the rev. wright things was not going to come out.
obama would have been bad for the country for the last 20 years of listening to wright
obama is bad for the country today and tomorrow.
you cannot get the feelings you have had in your heart for 20years overnight.
so if he gets president
he will go into the white house with some feelings that the white man is not right.

Whether you support Clinton, Obama, or none of the above, the declared intentions of Democrat superdelegates are not much of an issue, if any.
Lest we forget, the superdelegates, along with many of the delegates, can cast their vote for whichever candidate they please regardless of publicly declared intentions or voter preference.
But, there are probably some of the younger voters who have not yet figured out that all of politics is not quite truthful, if at all. Perhaps, the youngsters will soon learn.
At any rate and regardless of how the remaining primaries turn out, the nominee will be decided at the convention in August and not a day sooner.
Judging from past practice, the Democrat leadership and the DNC could decide to pick a candidate of their own choosing–one not currently running for office.
If you don’t think this could happen, you need to study history in greater detail, specifically, 1968…
Al Gore, we are waiting…

As voter sentiment shifts dramatically to Hillary, especially in Indiana, Obama supporters, like Joe Andrews, are screaming “Shut it down! Stop voting!” They fear that, once voting ends in June, Obama will have suffered a long string of humiliating losses. He will still be ahead in the pledged delegate count, but he will be behind in the popular vote and he will be behind in the polls.
When Andrews says that the continuing primary race is hurting the party what he really means is it is hurting Obama. The race is helping Hillary enormously as she enhances her reputation as a tough and smart campaigner.
We need to keep voting! Everyone’s vote must be counted! If the superdelegates en masse go over to Obama before voting ends Hillary’s supporters will “go postal.”

Posted by: LA in Indiana | May 1, 2008, 2:54 pm 2:54 pm

This thing has been rigged from the beginning. Not long ago the Obama camp was trying to paint a superdelegate win as a “smoky back room deal”, and supers should only vote along with their states or the popular vote. Wow – tell that to Kennedy, Kerry and Richardson to name a few. Their view is radically changed now that ONLY the supers can deliver a win. The ultra left has succeeded in garnering the nomination (big deal …he won’t deliver the WH) – this candidate of Reid-Pelosi-Kennedy was going to be the nominee NO MATTER WHAT THE VOTERS HAD TO SAY. This may have been the only time in history with the huge mistakes of a republican administration to run against that the uber liberals could get a shot. The overwhelming fact is most of the US falls toward the middle. The behavior of the Obama supporters IMHO has been just as disgusting and hateful as the right wingers. Activists targeted the caucuses knowing the system could be manipulated. They haven’t taken into account the level of rage that is happening right now… over disenfranchising MI & FL, the Wright issue and Obama’s unsufferable and unbridled arrogance, the subtle and not so subtle ways racial tensions have been played, the disgusting media bias. Those voters that got played early on are also angry now that some of the reality of Obama is hitting the airwaves. If anyone has had this nomination stolen from them its Clinton and by extension Edwards.

see what you obama supporters fail in is know the difference between an enemy and an opponent.
sen. clinton has been obama opponent but he and his supporters have treated her like the enemy
john mccain is the enemy
and since obama treated his opponent like an enemy
the enemy of my enemy is my friend

Obama only dissed Wright because Wright dissed Obama. It didn’t bother Obama when Wright was dissing America or white people.

did you guys see how Hillary pretended to be one of us “middle-class commuters” and she couldn’t even figure out how to pump her own gas tank or get her own coffee?
WHO’S THE ELITIST NOW?

Posted by: shannon | May 1, 2008, 3:05 pm 3:05 pm

Good choice, Belle Starr.
Initially, I was an Edwards supporter. In 2000, I was a Gore supporter. A Gore/Edwards ticket would result two individuals with character, dignity, intelligence, honesty, leadership, and experience.
If the DNC and Democrat leadership was only capable of making an intelligent move.
But, with Dean, Pelosi, and Reid, that may not be possible.

Posted by: Jayhawk | May 1, 2008, 3:05 pm 3:05 pm

Hillary can’t even pump her own gas. She doesn’t fool us! and her stupid holiday gas tax should be enough to turn every american against this pandering moron!

Found another bit (27 October 2007) on the incomprehensible confusion of Joe Andrew with V.C. Andrews. One supposes there’s money in this mystery:
“I got a couple e-mails from people wondering if there was a new V.C. Andrews book out. They had seen on the official SimonSays.com V.C. Andrews website, a book called “The Disciples: A Novel”, supposedly by V.C. Andrews. A quick search of the internet shows that this is NOT a V.C. Andrews book; it is an espionage thriller written by Joseph J. Andrew. Someone made a mistake.”

Posted by: Belle Starr | May 1, 2008, 3:07 pm 3:07 pm

Yeah, I saw Hillary yesterday saying she doesn’t know how to put gas in her car!
Maybe that’s why she has no shame exploiting the gas crisis by purposing the holiday gas tax!
We’re not stupid, lady! And if you actually filled up your own gas tank, you’d know you’re purposal is a slap in our faces!
This woman is so full of it!

Will the real Hillary Clinton Please Stand Up?
Which one is she going to be now?
Let’s see, first she was:
A black southerner at a black church!
Then she was the typical latino in NV eating a taco!
Then she was Rocky!
Then she was just another beer drinking/shot taking joe!
Then she was Annie Oakley!
Now she’s the typical commuter!
I stand corrected, she is not the two-face I’ve accused her of being. this woman has way too many faces to count and none of them pleasant!

The truth is Bill Clinton approved China’s purchase of this IN company!
Why is Hillary being stupid enough to bring this up? She really think we don’t know the whole facts?
Sounds just like her NAFTA lie, Colombia Trade Deal lie!
this woman really takes us for idiots!

No more Gore. He’s too implicated in Bush’s seizure of the presidency in 2001.
Edwards should be on top of the ticket, I think (even the Clintons might go for this, at this point) — but the important thing is that Obama not be NEAR the Democratic nomination. I truly wonder whether he’ll be out of the Senate, when the shoes finish dropping.

Roxie — Wright is not the issue. Obama’s lies are the issue.
1. Why does he lie to us saying he did not know about the outrageous things Wright has been saying all these years? Nobody with an ounce of sense believes this, so why keep lying?
2. Since he obviously knew exactly what Wright was saying why did he sit in the man’s church for two decades, nodding, smiling, and praising the man?
3. Why did he say in his Philadelphia speech that “I can no more disown [Wright than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother.” Now he has disowned Wright. What has changed? Nothing except his poll numbers. His Philadelphia speech, labeled by the press and his fans as “historic,” turns out to be nothing but another lie.
Obama is so arrogant he thinks he can tell whatever lies he wants and his supporters will believe him, and maybe that is true. They say love is blind, and if a person loves you that person will believe your lies because they want to. But, to lie to someone who loves you, just because you can, is about the worst betrayal imaginable.

Hillary fans — Please give your rationale of how your candidate can possible accumulate the total delegate vote to win the nomination. Stop rationalizing and calling people names — just tell us how this magic would work.
Inquiring minds want to know.

Looks like the Democrats are shooting themselves in the foot. Obama will do anything to get his way. If people cannot see that spending 20 years with Rev. Wright says Obama is, and always has been, happy with his rhetoric and now that he is hurting his chances for the nomination things have changed. But folks this is only on the surface as you don’t spend all this time at a church if you don’t agree with the preacher!!!! Superdelegates openly changing their minds is not helping the campaign. The press are in Obama’s pocket but hopefully Hillary can get the nomination. I will not vote for Obama if he gets nominated. I must swallow my pride and vote Republican – ouch.

Obama turns out to be the real “racist” in all this, so sure “black” voters belong to him, because of his not-unique birthday suit, that he’s abused and discarded the man who, however “offensive” it was, interpreted black rage to the Press Club, and who’s been largely responsible for Obama’s “black” credibility on race AND religion.
Notice how Jesse Jackson doesn’t seem to be rushing back from Haiti to try to save this fraud.

The Party is trying to decide the nominee instead of the people. The people keep voting for Hillary. She has won the last three big primaries and polls show she has more support nationally among Democrats and against John McCain. What the Party is trying to do is exactly what Putin did. Putin put his successor in without the people voting for him. That sounds like Communism to me. But wait a minute. This is a democracy, or so I thought. The Party and the Superdelegates need to shut up and let the people decide who is the nominee.

Will Obama’s payments from Blackwell ever get scrutiny from the media, other than the LA Times? Did ABC report that Hillary picked up 5 superdelegates today to Obama’s 1?

like so many of obama’s supers, there’s a reason that has nothing to do with the good of the country.

Robyn, Just curious….what is worse…Attending 20 years in a church where a pastor spouts inflammatory rhetortic you or may not have heard or spending 30 years in a marriage with a man who is an adulterer and proven liar? Before you answer understand that this is a rhetorical question. The trouble with Clintonites throwing stones at Obama is that the Clintons are far from clean. And what rankles me and has turned me completely off to the Clintons this year is that have used this negativism as their campaign strategy. While I am not an Obama supporter per se I do not see the same negativism as a campaign strategy from Obama.
I will say again destroying your opponents image does not enhance yours. It destroys yours as well. So, if you Democrats want to continue to drive Independents such as myself and moderate Republicans from voting for your party just keep up the negativism and character assasination. The Republicans will win by default.

Listen to yourselves Clinton supporters. Your candidate came into this race thinking she had it sewed up. She didn’t. She became negative to the point she has dropped lower in trust than any candidate in the history of the United States. She is, and is known, to be the candidate willing to do anything to get elected. THAT you could ask anyone on the street and the answer would be Hillary Clinton…..she has stooped to Republican attacks and taken money from supporters full well knowing she her chances were slim to none and all the while paying HUGE amounts to her friends such as Mark Penn. Her supporters such as Andrews are leaving her for a reason. They are looking at what is best for the country as opposed to their personal ambitions.
People who whine they will not vote for the democratic nominee are showing who they really are and that their main goal was never what was best for the country if they are willing to hand it over to the Republicans just because they didn’t get their way.

First Pelosi, Carter, then this Joe Andrew…and more.
They all claims to be democratic…only when they have it their ways.
When OBAMA is losing, they just can’t wait to let the people vote…They want the party to determine the nomination and not the people.
It is crystal clear that the party is rotten inside out. It needs a great fighter to change it. Ducking like OBAMA does not have a chance.
Go Hillary! In the history of America, you will be long remembered even when this election is over.

Democracy’s NOT a joke — but an “election” in which one manufactured candidate is pushed by the media corporations is not “democracy”.
The guy who defected from Clinton today is affiliated with Diebold, the corporation that makes machines which can make sure the votes are counted any way they like. THAT’s not exactly “democracy”, either.
Candidate Obama, who’s come to his present place by knocking others off the ballot, is no friend of democracy — ANOTHER reason to whup him in North Carolina and Indiana, and get this “hope” hustle OVER with.

I hope the voters crush Obama decisively on Tuesday — as much for using Reverend Wright for twenty years of “black community” cred, then renouncing Wright when he became inconvenient.
Mob princess Pelosi has set the idea of “women” back about 50 years, but I STILL hope Dr. Dean turns out to be on the side of the angels …

But what would one expect for a lawyer who was fired for her lack of integrity and honesty. This is clearly a woman who has used her bed to get where she is today.
She wouldn’t recognize a patriotic message if it slapped the simple minded grin off her face. THIS is a woman that thinks that 8000 people should have walked out of a church because SHE didn’t like what was being said. The people of Indiana don’t care about Joe Andrew. This is a story purely for the national media, and Obama to milk for all he can.
Very few Indiana votes will be changed because of what some uninvolved state party politician from the 1990s thinks. Most people in Indiana couldn’t even name who the CURRENT Indiana Democratic party head is.

Posted by: Indiana Voter | May 3, 2008, 1:28 am 1:28 am

Let’s hope other democratic super delegeates are not as foolish as Andrew. Why support Obama? There is no way he will be able to beat McCain. Clinton at least has a chance. A very good chance. The scandal with the pastor, his wife’s comments and his remarks about the people of PA destroyed any chance he had of beating McCain. The Democratic Super Delegates have wasted enough time. It is time SUPPORT CLINTON. AT the democratic party will not break the bank trying to get Clinton back in the White House.

EastCoast: You are so right. Dean is the instigator in this and so is Andrew but maybe the superdelegates are holding off to see if Hillary will win more states then give her the superdelegates with the nomination. Basically even though he won more state he can win the major ones. If he is the nominee he will not be the president because those states won’t vote for him. And her voters will not vote for him no matter what Clinton says. Good for them. Obama couldn’t run this country even if he had help to do it. He lacks everything a president should have and more. He didn’t choose the right friends and he doesn’t have the knowledge to make right decisions. Sitting down with the enemy? The enemy would be dancing in the streets if he was elected president.

Hillary didn’t need the black votes to win the battleground states but he needed them to win his nickel and dime states. He is a flunky and will never be president of this country. She will get more superdelegates and MI is making a deal with Dean regarding the delegates. Of cours, Hillary will get the most.
