Clinton Says Goodbye to Campaign Staffers
ABC News’ Kate Snow Reports: Sen. Hillary Clinton visited staff at her headquarters in Arlington, Virginia Wednesday just after most of them had been told they would no longer have to report to work after Friday.
A staffer who was in the room said she invited all of her campaign staff to come to her home on Friday.
Before Clinton arrived, the staff was told that they would be paid through June 15th. But the bulk of the staff was told their last day of work would be Friday.
Junior staffers were emotional and some were crying and as Clinton left her headquarters, she waved to cameras outside.
Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., claimed victory in their the tightly contested Democratic nomination battle on Tuesday, after the votes from South Dakota and Montana were counted.
ABC News’ Eloise Harper and Eileen Murphy contributed to this report.

It won’t be goodbye for long, Hillary.
As if we needed another reason to distrust Obama, his pal and fundraiser, Tony Rezko was just found guilty on several of the counts for which he was indicted. It’s only a matter of time before Obama’s Chicago corruption moves to the forefront.

Hillary Clinton is done. After her divisive behavior she will never get the Democratic leaders she needed just to stay in the race this time to support her for President ever again.
Not only will she not be elected President in 2008 she has no chance in 2012 or 2016 or as far forward as you want.
She better get good at being a Senator-in-waiting-for-seniority.
With supporters as out-of-touch and unequal to the bruising of political reality as Debra and Emily are, how could she ever have won? Answer: she couldn’t and didn’t, and the Democratic Party has been saved from an ugly, ugly Fall election.

It is a disgrace my party has been hijacked by the far left of our party – Dean, Pelosi and Obama.

Caroline Kennedy will salvage Obama’s dilema on avoiding putting Clinton on the ticket.
After Obama gets elected, Caroline Kennedy gets a cabinet post. Next thing you know, Caroline Kennedy runs for President. Truth is stranger than fiction. In the back of my mind for many years, I have always thought that it will actually be Caroline Kennedy who resurrects the JFK legacy by being elected the first woman President of the United States. Hold on to this email for posterity!

I am still supporting Hillary Clinton. Who is to say that she is not going to run as an Independent? She can do this. I just made another contribution to her campaign – her website is totally full of supporters urging her to go on! If she doesn’t, well just maybe she’ll team with McCain – She doesn’t need the DNC – The DNC and its leaders dumped on her big time with their favoritism of obama – no one needs the DNC any longer. Why should Hillary Clinton bow to their wishes? She is and always has been her own woman and is the type of person that will make things happen in the White House.
Obama is historic? You gotta be kidding. What is historic about a race driven, dividing candidate that uses being black when it suits his black followers and then trying to use his white side when he thinks that he can placate the whites? This guy is creepy. How long before the reverend wright is back with him? How long before the Catholic priest is back at the pulpit screeching hate about McCain? Sure hope and change.
I hope that obama can just once stay with the same policies that he started out with and not change them when he feels its time to have his followers think what he is telling them to think. American does not need someone historic.

When it’s all said and done, if Obama loses, it’s her fault.
Imagine, just imagine what these very same Hillary fanatics would be saying about Obama if the tables were turned.
Fanaticism is a losing game, you guys need to start accepting that it’s over for her. Not only that, you need to start accepting that it’s nearly impossible to support Hillary policies and hate Obama ones, because they’re basically the same things.
I’m not asking you to just switch your support over to him right away, but at least start with a blank slate. You’ll be surprised how much you can learn about somebody when you wash the prejudices out of your head.
Politics isn’t professional sports, it’s getting what’s best for your country. If you really care about Hillary’s platform, you’d at least give him a chance to change your mind.

This Democrat is voting for McCain, and has to vote for McCain, a Vietnam War hero who was POW for this country for 5 1/2 years. Neither Hillary or Obama can compare to that experience or credit, not to mention they don’t have the integrity.

Rezko and Ayers made Obama, single handedly financed him to the Illinois senate. Obama crruption continues by allocating IL public money to the church of his good friend the P-guy in exchange for his campaign contributions.
Posted by: fat cat | June 4, 2008, 5:39 pm 5:39 pm
Of course Rezko was convicted. Everyone knew he would be; it’s just a matter of how much time he gets.
The trial is a big problem for IL Gov. Rod Blagojevich. I’m guessing he won’t be running for re-election in 2010.
Obama, though? The government announced – at the start of the trial – that they’d found nothing linking Obama to any criminal activity. This is after a six-year investigation into Rezko.
(For those of you conspiracy theorists who have trouble with arithmetic, the investigation was going three years BEFORE Obama bought his current house.)
Bottom line: It’s news because of Rezko’s political connections. But the story has no repercussions for Obama, because he was never accused of any wrongdoing, or even remotely connected with any illegalities during the trial.

A few words about Sen. Hillary Clinton, from an Obama supporter.
She was better than the campaign she ran. For that, her advisors are responsible.
She was better than the Sybil-like messages and strategies she switched between for the first 3-4 months of 2007. For that, she must bear the blame, as she made the decision to have her chief pollster double as her chief strategist.
She did MUCH better once she got away from Penn’s microtargeting and started trying to connect directly to people. If she’d dumped Penn after Iowa, the truth is she may well have won the nomination.
Finally, she’s better than the disservice she got from her President spouse. Next to Penn, I’d say Bill Clinton is the biggest reason she is planning an exit, rather than a general election campaign.
His inability to control his temper, and his refusal to adjust to the unblinking, everyone’s-a-reporter media coverage, caused him to make one blunder after another.
But, despite all this baggage, Hillary Clinton never backed down, and never gave in, and never let Obama rest or coast. For that, I thank her – because Obama is now a much stronger candidate than he was at the end of February.
I don’t think she’ll get the VP nod – nor should she. But, I am sure she’ll get the keynote at the convention, along with a number of other perks (possibly her version of universal health care?). She deserves that much, and I’m sure Obama will be happy to concede that to her.

I am with Debra too! My nominee is Hillary Clinton and none other. I am highly educated, a long time Democrat and voluteer for numerous causes throughout my life. This primary is the most unjust, disrespectful spectical I have ever witnessed other than when the Republicans were relentless and brutal with the Clintons too. No way in hell will I ever support a system that has tried to tear Hillary down in order to uplift the elitist Dems choice. I know I am one of MILLIONS and I am PROUD to be a Hillary Clinton supporter all the way.
Posted by: irma | June 4, 2008, 5:55 pm 5:55 pm
How can Hillary supporters say she should run as an independent when she couldn’t win her own party’s nomination? How would she pay for that run when her supporters didn’t “support” her? Look at the parallels to Bill Clinton in 1992 to Obama in 2008. How can you think that Obama is somehow more liberal than Hillary? Is it because he didn’t say he’d obliterate Iran? That doesn’t make Hillary sound tough, it makes her sound naive and inexperienced.
Posted by: MarkieBee | June 4, 2008, 5:58 pm 5:58 pm
To the post that accuses us of being racist because we support Hillary. Stop being childish, irrational and ignorant. There are a lot more things we are concerned with than the pointless focus on skin color. We do not like your candidate for a lot more deeper reasons.
Posted by: irma | June 4, 2008, 6:00 pm 6:00 pm
Hillary’s campaign was good enough to beat every candidate but one, and that is darn good. Obama’s staff devised the best way to snare the maximum number of delegates. Hillary did not tune in to the specific details of getting the most delegates. Most glaringly, I’ll never understand why she never grasped the mechanics of the caucuses. Even after several caucuses, her campaign never learned how to handle them. That is Politics 101.
Posted by: hopesprings52 | June 4, 2008, 6:03 pm 6:03 pm
I worked on the Gore campaign, which pains me to this day. I also worked on the Kerry campaign, but on that one I was not as shocked. This is not hurt we feel, this is anger against a DEM system that deliberately and systematically tried to tear her down because they wanted Obama. That is NEVER acceptible to true DEMS. What we witnessed was a disgrace to the Clintons and us.
Posted by: irma | June 4, 2008, 6:05 pm 6:05 pm
No you don’t know that Joe, there is no past record of Obama having to deal with anything like that or being around and involved in any of that type of decision making.
Posted by: irma | June 4, 2008, 6:09 pm 6:09 pm
BMR, we could discuss experience vs. change. However, what helped Obama was not his message; which he had problems with as well since his speeches were somewhat recycled. We longtime voluteers for the DEMS are more able to focus on how a message is delivered, or what message is delivered. I personally thought it was a mistake to switch from experience to change. I thought it showed weakness in strategy by copying what was already Obama’s. I was really concerned because it was done after she “found her voice.” Something the campaign completely let slip through their fingers. I mean they didn’t even try to go with it. She speaks for the working class; it would have been brilliant. So yes, I see the weaknesses, but I saw weaknesses with Obama’s campaign as well. What Hillary was up against was wrong and deceitful propaganda that was delivered with fury by pundits on cable news 24/7. Of more concern was the push for Obama by Republican pundits specifically on CNN and MSNBC. As usual the rest of the media followed suit, just as they did when they called the election for Bush in 2000. The average voter was exposed to the media campaign for Obama. Most of them are not really focused on a candidates message as they are on the image that is portrayed by the media. We all know that. I did not have these strong anti Obama feelings in the beginning. My feelings were very neutral until the Clinton bashing began. That was a mistake that the Dems supporting Obama made. The Clintons are well respected and loved by the Democrats who know they were mostly well served by Bill’s administration regardless of the preposterous Republican fixation on destroying him. We know Hillary’s history, work and accomplishments. I feel betrayed by a party who was willing to take down a member who has so much of us on her side. That is something against US as well. One last point I would like to make and that is the concern I have with Republicans who mostly switched party afiliation in order to vote for Obama. So who really selected our nominee. I would love to see those numbers of original DEMS vs. Switched Republican DEMS.

Hillary has no power now. She lost. Just like Romney and Huck. None of these folks has any power now. It’s all up to Obama and McCain as they go forward. He can do whatever he wants regardless of Hillary’s insurgents. He’s a lock to win the White House with or without Hillary. Easy with her, harder without her, but still a lock. McCain is acting like a dottering old fool, that broke out of a nursing home, and thinks he’s running for President. Every Republican I’ve talked to saw how pathetic McCain was in New Orleans last night. They told me they knew after that one speech that McCain was going to lose in a landslide in November. Goldwater again, anyone? BTW, Bill Clinton clearly disrespects and dislikes Obama.

Everyone in here sounds like a Republican. Hillary said she’d do everything she can to get a Democrat in the White House. Any true Hillary supporters would believe her when she says we can’t afford McCain and his policies.
The funny thing is people can find nothing questionable about Obama so they spew lies and mention the conduct of certain acquaintances. You’ll find nothing like McCain’s Keating Five scandal with Obama. This is the best the spinsters can do!
I would hate to think Hillary supporters would turn their back on her now. It’s now time to rally the Democratic Party to elect Obama in November!

Obama supporters are still insulting Hillary, even though the race for the nomination is over.
This is another reason why Obama won’t win on Election Day.
Many Hillary supporters won’t forget how rude and obnoxious Obama’s followers are.
They are almost as bad as Obama’s and Jeremiah Wright’s shared values for the last 20 years.

For those of you who want Hillary to run as an Independent :
I ask you, have you asked her if she would want to leave the Democratic Party? She has repeatedly stated that she will do whatever it takes to get a Democrat into the WH. SHE has no plans to abandon her PARTY because in her heart she is a Democrat. Most people cannot just wash themselves free of their Party affiliation as easily as the people who claim they will vote for McCain if their favorite candidate did not get the nomination.
There is a WORLD of DIFFERENCE between a Democrat and a Republican. I get the impression that a lot of people do not recognize the basic differences between the two, or they could not just switch parties.

I am a core, moderate Democrat who has voted for a Democrat in every Presidential election since I was old enough to vote. I have been upset about the last two elections, so I volunteered for Kerry in the general. After all that our country has been through in the last 71/2 years, I vowed to get involved early with this election, so that I could help select the strongest and most qualified Democrat to represent our party and to take over the white house. I have talked to thousands of people all over the country, and other Republicans, Independents and Democrats WILL vote for Hillary, but they WILL NOT vote for Obama because he is too inexperienced and too untrustworthy. I will NEVER vote for Obama…he has more links to criminals and hate-filled racists than there are dollars earned by the oil industry! Everyone was caught off guard with him because they wanted an intelligent Democrat with charisma, style, sex appeal and captivating speeches; in other words the OPPOSITE of George W. Ted Kennedy and Howard Dean must have been in heaven when they discovered that he had so many talents with organizing. Oprah was all he needed to launch him into the stratosphere. Everyone got on board the
band wagon because this guy represents change in every way possible except for the fact that he is a man. He carries more mystique than the Kennedy’s and makes everyone feel good when he talks. He replaces the nervousness of G W’s speeches with his mesmerizing tone. Anytime anyone says anything about his family, his heritage, his religion or his ethnicity, or even mentions his middle name, it is considered an attack. In fact almost any questions raised about his personal behavior, past or present, he and his campaign find it offensive. Beware of Barack Obama. America cannot afford to take a chance on a man with so many serious red flags associated with him.

I wonder if the “leverage” that was discussed on Tuesday might have been related more to the Clinton simmering future legal troubles ( related to campaign money ) than the VP slot.
Don’t believe just because shes suspending her campaign she will now just quietly return to the senate. Her campaign has a lot of stories that have yet to be written.

I detest the Democratic Party for the way they, the media, the Obama campaign and it’s supporters treated Hillary Clinton, the very best candidate we had. I plan on voting McCain this fall. Perhaps the worm will turn and Obama will FINALLY implode, as is his due.
Signed,
Proud Clinton McCain Democrat

Actually, this is the beginning of the end of the unique superpower.
Why OB? Have you guys read the article in “Atlantic” back to Nov last year? If you read, you will not be surprised on why DM leftist fully support OB. It is the idealogical war. DM leftists are so frustrated in many years that America failed to produce any strong idealogical thing to show off their image. Now, seems suddenly, they can produce one black president to show whole world that America is a strong country to produce idealogical things. So, they will never give up this chance. They do not really care about the consequence, and reality. They do not even want to see the fact that OB will be the killer of this superpower.
Now, DM leftist did it. It is up to GE. If in GE, OB gets the office, Ha Ha, that will be super interesting. One group of super greedy people will gain big power. What will they do? Of course, to abuse the power in their hands to maximize their own interests. The consequence is clear: The Doom of the superpower.
It might not be a bad things. Well, we will see it.

This is all shadow boxing folks. The people claiming to be angry and willing to vote for McCain are the same “republicans” who jumped parties to mess with the election process. This is all interference from Rush and his “operation chaos”. I personally have not heard from one true Hillary supporter that they would vote for McCain over Obama. Yet I look in these anonymous blogs and forums and see tons of them. I have a colleague here at work who has been running around for weeks saying if Hillary doesn’t win he is voting for McCain. Yet I know for a fact that he was bitter when Tancredo dropped out. Its time to avoid all this static and vote with your hearts and your minds. If you are younger, like me, there is too much at stake to see another 4 to 8 yrs of neocon rule. A split vote between H and O will be devastating for the country, the middle class, and my family. We have not see increases in pay in over 7 years. The cost of health care has doubled not just once but twice in that same time. The price of gas has eaten up any other money we had, and then food jumped 20+ percent. If these people are to be believed then it appears that they are wealthy enough for these issues not to matter. They also don’t seem to care that McCain in the white house also means enough new Justices in the supreme court to overturn Roe v Wade. Don’t believe the deceivers folks. Do whats right, get the neocons out of the white house.

HILLARY SUPPORTER PUTTING FULL SUPPORT BEHIND McCAIN!!!!
NO AMOUNT OF HILLARY ENDORSING COULD EVEN CHANGE MY MIND.
I BET CLINT EASTWOOD, ROB REINER, JACK NICHOLSON, MADONNA, SARAH JESSICA PARKER WILL ALSO HAVE TO RETHINK THEIR PARTY SUPPORT TOO.
ALOT OF DEMS WILL HAVE TO CHOSE McCAIN THIS YEAR BECAUSE OBAMA AND WIFEY HATE WHITEY, JEWS, OUR COUNTRY!
UNACCEPTABLE.

How short sighted.. all these angry Hillary people are ready to shoot themselves in the foot because they lost a primary. It’s about beating McBush, so we can fix the economy and end the war. Have you all forgotten why you got into the fight to begin with? Are you so selfish and egotistical about a loss that you don’t remember? Get a grip! Go vote! Geesh!

There are so many idiots out there that don’t seem to understand that as Dems are main goal is to stop the war. Those who vote for McCain should just walk to the next recruitment station and volunteer to die for the civil war overthere. This year isn’t about Hillary or Obama, it is about stopping the war and the GOP. There are virtually little differences between the two Dems except that Clinton voted for war and was never able to recover from that. Lets join together and stop the war and improve healthcare. McCain is going in the opposite direction, can you live with that? Talk about the issues not the personalities.

Stanium, I was not talking with you, why are you shouting at me? What’s wrong with asking Party Unity? You don’t want our Dem Party to be unified? Why?
