James Clyburn to Endorse Barack Obama
ABC News’ Jake Tapper Reports: Respected civil rights leader and Democratic House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., will endorse Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., for president formally on Tuesday, ABC News can confirm, as reported first by the Associated Press.
Clyburn is calling other superdelegates Monday to get them on board before the last Democratic primary contests.
The South Carolina congressman had expressed concern about the negative tone of the Democratic nomination race and has criticized how Sen. Hillary Clinton’s campaign has dealt with Obama.
Clyburn was incensed when former President Bill Clinton dismissed Obama’s South Carolina victory in January, comparing his win to those of Rev. Jesse Jackson’s 1984 and 1988 primary wins, and later said the Obama campaign "played the race card" on him.
"How do you play the race card on the ex-president of the United States?" Clyburn asked at the time. "How do you do it? I would like to know how that’s done and who they [are]. And I’d like to see these memos he’s talking about. That’s what’s so bizarre about this."

WOW the Democrats really want a communist rule. Does anybody really realize what a single party communist rule is like to live under. Just ask the secret police the Russians had spying on the citizens.

Next wait for Pelosi, Reid, Carter and I think Gore… Then you know Clinton wins this.
I am actually not sure about Howard Dean, he always had an independent streek in him. I always regret how the Dems failed Dean for Kerry. Let’s not make that mistake again.

What takes him so long?
He wants to pretend that he is fair? Like hell he is.
BO is the most unqualified candidate that shall funk all the CEO evaluation but the nomination of democratic party has been rigged up and tailor-made for him.
However, he still will blows himself up before November because everybody will know what an empty suit he is.
He can not hide and act behind podium or pulpit and pretend to be supreme.

Thankfully, folks like “as way,” who paint anyone left of Atilla the Hun as communist, while folks like Dubya and McBush continue to lead our country down the road to ruin, are dwindling in numbers.
We have a clear choice in November — for more years of Bush/Cheney neocon politics with McBush, or bringing meaningful change to Washington!! Thankfully, by the end of the week, we’ll be in full General Election Mode for the next President of the United States, Senator Barack Obama!!!!

1. Obama is “once a lifetime leader” and can bring “change” to America so I casted my vote for him….
2. It is mathamatically unlikely Hillary can overtake delegate lead, so I casted my vote for Obama…

And all you have to offer is spiteful whining because you want to take your ball and go home?

All Clyburn has to do is ask Obama and he can tell him how he played the race card on Clinton. It looks like playing the race card will be tried in the general but it will do Obama no good. He want be in the primary then and want have Clinton to blame.

Didn’t he endorse Obama already? First, he endorsed him, then unendorsed him. I’m a democrat but after this primary season, I may change my allegence to Independent. What I witnessed this past week-end was the last draw. Awarding delegates to “uncommitted” and taking 4 delegates away from Hillary was awful. I don’t care who is president. Republicans should clean up the mess they created. I’m so angry and disillusioned. There will NOT be unity in this election. It has left a very sour taste in my mouth. When the Democrats loose, they will have to understand that they created a system that is flawed. This was a historic primary but like everything else, they failed.

Louise the RBC was in a situation that Clinton wanted everything and yet agreed before January that Florida and Michigan would NOT count.
Then she played the let every vote count knowing that after agreeing to remove her name in Michigan she left her name on. In her words Michigan and Florida DO NOT count.
The winning Nominee would decide how to seat them after the Primaries. This is by the rules agreed to before January. Hilary thought this would be a mute point since she would win by February 5 and could do what ever was needed.
Hillary has my respect for running a hard fight. She has played a little over the lines at times though.

OK, both of them received about 17 million votes each. In the last election 2004 the winner got 62 million. The last Democrat to win 1996 got 47.4 million. Looks like a lot of work needs to be done before November.

Obama is for higher taxes, windfall taxes on oil, increased federal entitlement programs, etc. A recent study showed that currently the government has promised the equivalent of $500k per person through entitlement programs. Where do you think that money is going to come from? OUR POCKETS, that’s where. Raise taxes on oil, and they’ll raise their prices to maintain a profit margin. The oil problem is a problem that can be solved with the basic theory of supply and demand. For 30 years we’ve done nothing as a country to increase our own supply, while demand has skyrocketed. Easiest way to fix this is to drill for our own oil. By the way, not all democrats are communists… but Obama is the closest thing country has seen in a very long time. Check out the feeling on Capitol hill, Congresswoman Maxine Waters threatened to socialize (nationalize) the oil companies (great idea, nothing is as expensive or inefficient as government). Hillary threatened to “take” the oil company’s profits. The popular democratic platform is all about taking individual’s hard earned money because they feel entitled to it. Obama’s the next Jimmy Carter, and if he wins the November election, expect extremely high taxes and inflation, a worsening recession, horrible foreign policy failures that we will feel for 30 years (See Jimmy Carter and the Iranian Revolution of 1979), etc. Obama doesn’t understand the capital gains tax, he doesn’t understand the benefits of free trade, he doesn’t understand that we as a country have nothing new to say to Iran (they’re unwilling to listen, so why talk?). He also seems to be closely associated with a bunch of racists, former terrorists, etc. If he was a Republican, he probably would have been indicted for something by Ronnie Earle by now…

in a primary you never win by the popular vote. That would be the General Election and then you need them spread out over the states to bring you a minimum of 270 electoral votes.

I think it’s sad that many of you are bickering over a situation that is all but finished. Like it or not Obama will be the democratic nominee by the end of the week. I know some of you are shocked/pissed about a black man winning the nomination (yes I played the damn race card). And I realize that even more of you are over the top feminists who would rather see the second coming of Bush than see Obama as president (hell yes I played the sex card. Let’s put aside this petty argument once and for all. The personal jabs do little for your argument and in the end the votes have already been cast. Obama/Clinton in 08!

Typical W A. Always blaming others for their own personal woes and previous decisions they made.

It would have only been news if a Clyburn endorsed Hillary, since it would have meant that Clyburn really does believe in civil rights and that he doesn’t care what the color of a person’s skin is or what gender he or she is.

Nat Turner
1) I never said I had any personal woes. , and suggesting personal responsibility as a cure goes against everything Democrats stand for. They don’t think the person is capable of being responsible, so they take people’s money, mandate that they have a retirement fund, health care, and whatever else they can get away with. Personally, I’d prefer to be in charge of my own money, and be personally responsible for any mistakes I make. Another example, Democrats want to bail out home owners who overextended themselves and now can’t afford the mortgage. Guess what, most of them tried to cash in on the real estate market by getting a second mortgage or buying a bunch of properties on speculation or getting an expensive home they can’t afford because of a teaser interest rate. Personal responsibility would dictate that they pay the price for their bad gamble. If they lose money, they lose money. If they lose their home, they everyone should learn from their mistakes and live within their means. Pretending that Obama believes anything like this is delusional.
2) Your response has nothing to do with anything I said, and like Obama’s responses to questions on how he’s going to do what he promises, is empty rhetoric with no plan. He’s going to fix our mess with hope and change? Well I hope he has a LOT of change in those pockets, because it’s going to take a lot. Problem is, higher taxes doesn’t mean higher returns; in fact it likely means the opposite. Every economist on the planet can tell you that one. And Bush didn’t put us in this position, partially yes, entirely no. It takes Congress to pass legislation ya know, and they’re they ones that have been spending like they won the lottery (every other day)… with W’s and Clinton’s and W1′s and Reagan’s, and Carter’s, etc, help.

Again, completely failed to address the arguments presented. I guess that personal responsibility stuff was just a guise to make people think you weren’t a hardcore lefty, but by ignoring what someone said in order to try to label them you’ve proven what you are.
As far as my cynicism goes, I have plenty of hope, like the HOPE that Obama doesn’t win the presidency. And if keeps on going like he has for the last 3 months, there’s a very good chance of my HOPE coming true.

Enough with the “Hillary’s experienced” and “Hillary gets things done” BS already. She’s a junior senator who’s only “experience” includes a failed attempt at health care reform, the inability to curb her husband’s philandering, and tea with the first lady of Kosovo. Other than that she hasn’t negotiated a single treaty, introduced any significant legislation, or brokered a single peace treaty. As she continues to fracture the party with her scorched earth tactics she is handing the white house to John McCain. And if that happens, we better get used to the idea of seeing more flag-draped coffins. And we better accept the very real possibility that our own children may be filling them by the thousands as he continues his “100 year war” and sets his sights on Iran.

He never said 100 year war, and several news outlets have called the DNC out as flat out liars for spreading that crap. He said he can see a military presence in Iraq for 100 years, just as we’ve had a military presence in Japan and Germany since WW2, and in South Korea since the Korean war. In the very same breath, McCain said that this presence would be conditioned on American troops not taking casualties. Now that you’ve been provided the accurate statement, you should Google the definition of the term “war”. As far as Iran is concerned, they’re a huge problem that every administration since Carter has tried to address, and failed. We’ve talked to them, we’ve tried to normalize relations, we’ve tried to bribe them to give up their nuclear program, etc. They’ll never talk to us with the goal of reaching a resolution, and they’ve said as much. So, what’s there to talk about? Whether or not we’ll abandon the middle east and let Iran try to exterminate the Jews in Israel? Sounds like a winning foreign policy! (sarcasm)

Is the Obama Campaign Racist?
Did we forget that McCain voted against the Martin Luther King Memorial Holiday and his state was the “last” to adopt it in the entire union !!!
Not to mention the Clinton’s off-handed remarks about blacks, Obama and even whites to win votes…
Its not a matter of Obama was at that Church for 20 or 100 years !!! There is some form of racism in “every institution, everywhere” !!! If he had left that Church, I’m “sure” he could have found racism in the next one !!!
Obama knows this, and was “the first” to come out in this election process to promote that we “come together in this country as Americans”… and work to promote the abandonment of racist attitudes !!! Also the first to promote the idea of “change”… “then” Hillary and McCain decided to use the term themselves after they saw it was working !!!!

It amazing to me that so many opened minded democrats have divided themselves. I am an AA and I am voting for Obama because he is the realization of the dream that our founding fathers had for this country. We need change in washington, we need better health care, we need tax cuts for the middle class, we need ways in which our bright stars that we raise can acheive their dreams through a college education.I have experienced my share of hate and racism, but I also have experience my share of love and acceptance in this country. BUT in a country like ours that exemplifies everything great in regards to freedom and equality no one should have to apologize about being black, brown, white, red, or yellow. Racism and deception has been the corner stone in this election as protrayed by the Obama campaign. No wonder Clyburn chose Obama. He chose deception. Obama idea of change is socialism and communism.
There is no way Obama can bring people together. He is the big reason we are so divided now. Obama is stomping the dreams of many Americans.

I hope that some NY supers listen to Clyburn before it’s too late for him.
We in NY know a bit about empty suits. The party forced the totally unqualified HRC on us in 2000. She has done absolutely nothing for NY except for get pork mostly for Bill’s clients & donors.
Yet our state party turned over its entire apparatus to her, marginalized supporters of all other candidates, did not even count votes for Obama in some districts & stood by while Ferrarro spewed her racist bile .
So to all of them, we will support a man who had the intellect to be president of the Harvard Law Review & the character to use that credential for public service. The rest of you we will remember in November & every November to come. (IOW Schumer start looking for a broker now.)

to maggie and frisco,
You constantly claim that Obama listened to a racist preacher, tell me is every one who opposed the civil rights movement to be held accountable, those were destestable times for our nation. What about Mc Cains opposition to MLK day? Does that make him racist? What about the many people in all of our lives who make a racist comment, and if you are honest you didnt disown them. The entire concept that Obama is responsible for the foolish words of anyone other than his own is a witch Hunt. The sad truth is, is that no matter what there are some people who will not vote for Obama because he appears to be black. Who determines what race he is any way? Isn’t his mother white and his father African: So How did he end up black. Oh, Plessy vs. Ferguson, read up on it. We are so busy identifying the differences in each other we can never reap the benefits of the similarities. This is a sad truth across all spectrums. Some blacks are to light to be accepted by others, some whites are to poor to be accepted by others, and some immigrants to old country to be accepted by the assimilated. Racism is the greatest cancer this nation has ever had, it is what shadows its greatness, in reality no one is truly free from its venomous bite. Walk down the street in the ghettos of chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Harlem, and Atlanta. Lets see how racism free you are, how non judgemental you are, how we are the world you are.

Am so amazed how republicans scared of a whitewash in the GE are pretending to be democrats and Clinton supporters. Clinton and Obama never had your vote right from the start and they won’t get your vote in the GE. McCain will need your vote so spare us the vitriol and go home to Ma-cain. Like Cain of the bible who killed his brother Ma-Cain is been fighting to be President so he can revenge his capture. So get your sons and daughters ready to die in their prime for Ma-Cain’s personal vandetta.
remind’s me of a chicken factory.

JAMES, YOU SAT ON THE FENCE, YOU WAITED, HOWEVER, YOU DID WHAT IS RIGHT AND FAIR AND JUST FOR THE DEMOCRATS, AND FOR ALL AMERICANS. SEN. OBAMA, YOU CONTINUE TO BUILD IT, THEY WILL ALL COME OVER. ONLY TIME WILL TELL, HILLARY AND BILL WILL JOIN US TOO – BECAUSE WE HAVE A MAJOR CHALLANGE AHEAD, THE GOP. Sincerely, Lake Hart, a Native American Writer.

Obama gave Hillary a free ride since March-he has not attacked her. He gave her a ‘place in the spotlight to make her curtain calls’. To use a sports metaphor, why ‘run up the score in the last quarter’. The victory was his- so in favor of party unity why should he just destroy her? He instead went after McCain…
To many Clinton supporters this was a ‘weakness’ on Obama’s part.In fact it points out his strength. If you have the upper hand why rattle sabres?
Now that this primary season is ending, we, the Democrats, need to come together. With 35+ million voters who voted Dem. that is an awesome number…with it WE the Americans can take back America from the big buck interests who have hung us out to dry.
Enough- no more hatred in the blogs/posts. Starting tomorrow WE ARE THE DEMOCRATS. CHANGE WE ALL CAN BELIEVE IN-YES “WE” CAN…

The DNC is a black party now, because all whites have left the party. I said before, I predict that if Obama is the nominee the DNC will not take the White House for the next 40 years. That’s how long it takes for one generation to forget the Obama affect. There will not be another black candidate for the next 100 years because the next one will have their garbage go through with a fine tooth comb. And believed me, no one is that clean.

Simple Mr. Clyburn, if you are Senator Barack Obama or his campaign, you first take ANY innocuous factual comment spoken by a white candidate or her family; then, you take them out of context, twist them to suit your own political purpose, and make sure to label them as “RACIST”. This entire campaign, the underlying racist message subtley and expertly put out by Barack himself, is that if you are not with him, you must be a “racist”. White guilt and extreme political correctness helped the nomination along. If Senator Hillary Clinton was a member of a church that was anti-American, anti-black, and hate-filled, she would have been tossed out of the race on her ear. I am a lifelong Democrat, but I cannot WAIT for Sen. John McCain to wipe the floor with Barack’s phoney baloney smug butt in November. Its not that he’s black, its that he is a major hypocrite.

It makes me sick to see Super Delegates being so byist. It really doesn’t matter to the Dem’s that Hillary has the popular vote, they are going to try and get their pupet in there no matter what the cost. Party of the people my A@%^! This is what Social Elitism is all about. They don’t care about the people of this country: they only care about their own corrupt agenda, all the while pointing that finger at Hillary Clinton. I am so sick of this party, they are not the party they once were. If they get away with this and Nominate Barac Obama, I will never vote Democratic again!
Posted by: Cynthia | June 2, 2008, 9:39 pm 9:39 pm
Think about it, Senator Barack Obama, the weakest Democratic nominee to come along in over 30 years; a man who was not able to win more than ONE “Big State”, a man with NO solid voter base, is being handed the nomination by Super Delegates. Despite the fact that Sen. Hillary Clinton won nearly every Big State and is the stronger candidate against McCain in November. So, basically Mr. Clyburn and his black activist politicians want to prove a point at the expense of the Democrats in November. Thanks!
Posted by: PhillyPaul | June 2, 2008, 9:41 pm 9:41 pm
If Hillary is not the nominee, McCain wins in November.
When McCain is in the inauguration ceremony, voters should then drag Pelosi on to the street and get her out of the Congress for ever.
She is a MAJOR contributor to Democratic loss in Nov.
Pelosi is good for NOTHING.

I see some people threaten here, “I will vote for Mccain if Hillary does not get it”. Pls hurt yourself and hope I feel the pain.
Does Mccain not sound too grumpy and sturbornly war-like without commonsense? Over 4000 American soldiers have died for a lie. 10′s of thousands of Iraqis and this man still talks like a fool. I hear him call Obama naive. In the most important decision of his life, his wisdom failed him.

I am all for being “progressive” [a term that the "analysts" @ MSNBC LOVE to toss around-with the singular exception of that last bastion of reason, Pat Buchanan]; but just being a Black candidate does not automatically mean that you are progressive. If you compare their platforms, it is Sen. Hillary Clinton that is actually the more progressive candidate. But, unfortunately, according to liberal elites, “White” does not equal “Change” any longer. You gotta be Black.

Michelle Obama Rants About “Whitey” as Farrakhan, Pfleger, & Wright Sing the Chorus
No Quarter Blog was the first to pop up with this interesting tidbit:
I learned over the weekend why the Republicans who have seen the tape of Michelle Obama ranting about “whitey” describe it as “STUNNING.” I have not seen it but I have heard from five separate sources who have spoken directly with people who have seen the tape. It features Michelle Obama and Louis Farrakhan. They are sitting on a panel at Jeremiah Wright’s Church when Michelle makes her intemperate remarks.
Barack may have quit his church but his religious problems are not over. Barack Obama has a Nation of Islam problem that will receive more attention in the coming days. Before Barack came on the scene, THE MAN in his political district was Louis Farrakhan. No one could take Alice Palmer’s seat without Farrakhan’s blessing. No one. I do not fault Barack Obama for seeking out the blessing of Farrakhan, but the story of what was done behind the scenes to get rid of Barack’s predecessor—Alice Palmer—has not been told. A knowledgeable source tells me that Tony Rezko played a direct role in this feat. And Rezko has been tight with Farrakhan. It also should come as no surprise that Barack hired two members of the Nation of Islam to work on his staff—Jennifer Mason and Cynthia K. Miller.
In probing those matters we begin to understand that the Nation of Islam has been a critical component of Barack Obama’s base of support. And, I am told, Louis Farrakhan has been careful to use Tony Rezko as the intermediary in his relationship with Barack. This is not guilt by association, this is guilt because of actual relationship.
And Michelle Obama is guilty of being angry about a lot of things. If you don’t think she could be capable of using the “W” word, watch this video documenting some of her intemperate malapropisms. (The soundtrack is kickin’, too.)

The French Are Tougher Than Barack Obama
Mon, Jun 2, 2008 at 9:49:47 am PDT
Barack Obama: more defeatist than the French.
French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner said on Sunday that the security situation in Iraq was improving and reaffirmed France’s willingness to help rebuild the war-ravaged country.
“I have the feeling that things are better. Statistics show a drop in security incidents,” Kouchner told AFP after a working lunch with his Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zebari on the last day of his two-day visit to Iraq.

OBAMA IS DUMBER THAN BUSH. Just look at some of Obama’s gaffes and lies:
Obama claimed that his uncle helped liberate Auschwitz in Germany. Problem is Auschwitz is in Poland and the Soviet Union liberated it, not the US. Or Obama’s statement that America has 57 States or his Memorial Day Speech in New Mexico where he indicated that America’s “fallen heroes” were in the audience listening to him speak. Obama has also distorted his family history when he claimed that his birth was inspired by events that took place four years after he was born. On a handwriting questionnaire he claimed that someone else filled out the questionnaire on his opposition to gun rights until he had to fess up when someone proved that it was Obama’s own handwriting on the questionnaire. In Orlando Florida, Obama said he would meet with Hugo Chavez, who supports FARC, unconditionally. Than the next day Obama stated that any Nation who supported FARC guerrillas should be subjected to “regional isolation”. When Obama came under fire for stating he would meet unconditionally with the leaders of Iran, North Korea, Cuba and Syria in defense, Obama claimed that JFK’s 1961 summit meeting with Khrushchev led the the end of the Cold War. Just the opposite, JFK admitted that the meeting with Khrushchev made the US look weak and two months later the Berlin wall was built and stood for 28 years. Obama’s lies and ignorance of World history is stunning. If President Bush had made similar gaffes the main stream media would be all over it twenty-four/seven. The question is why is the mainstream media giving Obama a pass? The public has a right to know about the fact Obama is pretty ignorant of world history and has a track record of lies and gaffes when not in front of a teleprompter.</

First I think people need to think before they express their opinions because some of the comments here reveal an underlining sense of prejudice (and I’m talking about whites and blacks). We are all human. And we are all neighbors. And we (speaking of mature adults – a rare internet find) have to act like we can civilly hold a discussion without throwing “the race card” or whatever.
Second, just because Sen. Clyburn is an African-American doesn’t mean that he was naturally going to support Obama over Clinton. There are African-Americans who support the other candidates including McCain. Clyburn seems like an intelligent man who wanted to weigh things before he publically endorsed a candidate.
When people make comments about “race” being a factor in the election, I hope you realize that it exposes a level of ignorance and hypocrisy on the part of Americans who promote American ideals of democracy and freedom.

IF YOU WANT MORE WAR AND DEATH, VOTE FOR OBAMA. The facts on the ground now in Iraq is that the surge has been successful and the US is winning the war in Iraq. That is why Obama’s plan of pulling defeat out of the jaws of victory in Iraq is so idiotic. Al Qaeda is on the run in Iraq but if the USA retreats and turns Iraq over to them, Al Qaeda will have access to Iraq’s large oil reserves and thus the means and opportunity to attack us and attack us hard. Our Middle Eastern allies will have no reason to trust our word and abandon us. Not to mention the boost a withdrawal from Iraq will give to Iran, Syria and Hamas. Think WWIII, If Obama is elected his defeatist policies will put us all at more risk of another 9/11 attack and even worse the blow up the middle east which will mean more will die, just like what happened in WWII when people thought Hitler could be appeased and were wrong, very wrong. Whats more, the killing fields of cambodia could be played out again in Iraq by Al Qaeda, Only this time the people murdered could be the very people that risked their lives to support the US. Question, if Obama wins, can you sleep well at night if you get what you want and this happens? I hope not.
P.S. If Obama had got his way and Saddam was still in power the West would be dealing with TWO major middle eastern powers on the brink or already in possession of nuclear weapons thumbing their nose at the US.

OBAMA WILL DESTROY THE US ECONOMY AND MAKE THINGS WORSE NOT BETTER, FAR WORSE.
Government is not the benevolent force that delusional Obamaites believe it is. Quite the contrary, government uses the force of law to seize money and property from the workers and uses it to feather the beds of a bunch of self serving bureaucrats and politicians. Little if anything is trickled back down to the people. In fact what’s left over, if anything, typically goes to a bunch of corrupt hanger ons and sycophants like Rezco. Obama’s Marxist friends and associates hate the free market and want to replace it with the all powerful force of the State. Problem is the track record of Marxist style run governments are not so good. Just look at the loss of freedom and millions of lives that were lost in an effort to create a “Utopian State” in the Soviet Union, Cuba, China and North Korea. The dead hand of a Marxist style government (that Obama’s friends believe in) is anything but benevolent. I ask you to listen closely to Obama and if you do, you will hear the echo of his friends Marxist beliefs in Obama’s flowery speeches. Don’t buy into it.

Now let me ask just 1 simple question why do we have to say african american, why not just americans, If you ask me he is making this a race issue, If all we white people are racist, then why do most of the black people have to say African americans instead of just Americans, Cause arent we just all Americans, White black yellow pink purple green……

MR USA, Obama will make the US economy worse, far worse Obama want to raise taxes which will force business to raise prices and lay off staff, maybe even go out of business. As to the war in Iraq, even the French are tougher than Obama The French realize the US is winning war in Iraq and want to stay in Iraq, not retreat as Obama does. The bad housing market is the fault of the Democrats who wanted the banks to make more loans available to people who could not afford them. So if you want the kind of change that will destroy the US economy and pull defeat out of the jaws of victory in Iraq, vote Obama.

JUST the FACTS – LET AMERICA DECIDE
1. Hillary won in 17 large, mostly BLUE states (and 297 electoral college votes) Democrats have any realistic chance of winning – Arizona (10), Arkansas (6), California (55), Nevada (5), New York (31), New Jersey (15), Texas (34), Tennessee (11), Ohio (20), Florida (27), Michigan (17), Pennsylvania (21), Kentucky (8), New Mexico (5), Massachusetts (12), West Virginia (5), Indiana (11), Rhode Island (4), and Puerto Rico (Commonwealth).
2. She already proves she can take 297 electoral votes. To become president you need only 270.
3. These mostly BLUE states have the majority of the Electoral College votes – which determines the presidency.
4. Unfortunately, Obama won in mostly RED states where mostly GOP out number democrats 3:1 – so it’s Gore, Kerry, and McGovern all over again.
5. Obama won in the Republican majority RED states of consisting of only 199 electoral votes. Win the primary battle but lose the election war with McCain.

Call it the “willful suspension of disbelief”. “Yes, they will” destroy the party, after all none of them need Roe vs Wade anymore, they have retired with 75 to 100 percent benefits, and they won’t live long enough to be REALLY affected by McCain’s policies. And, damn any children or grandchildren they may have to save face.

Mr. USA, President Bush did not lie about the reasons behind the war in Iraq. Every intelligence agency in the world believed Saddam was in possession of WMDs. In fact, documents obtained from Saddam’s files after the war show that Saddam was lying to his own Generals about WMDs. Another fact obtained from Saddam’s files is that Saddam had every intention of restarting his WMD program as he did not think the US would invade him. So if Obama had got his way and the US did not invade Iraq, the US and the West would be dealing with both Iraq and Iran close to having Nukes or already in possession of Nukes. On top of that, Al Qaeda could very well have established bases in Iraq as Saddam was starting to get pretty cozy with them. What a mess.

The mainstream media as usual is covering up the real story about Obama’s resignation from the Trinity Church he belonged to for twenty years. The real story is the fact that Obama stated: “it’s not a church worthy of denouncing:” Obama “I’m not denouncing the church and I’m not interested in people who want me to denounce the church,”
Since Obama has made it clear he is “not denouncing the church” the question becomes does Obama thus agree with the below Black Liberation Theology teachings of his former church? Per the founder of black liberation theology James Cone: “Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community. . . . Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love”. This is the self-proclaimed basis of Rev. Wright’s beliefs and his churches teachings which Obama refuses to denounce. The media is not doing its job by not reporting the fact that Obama is refusing to denounce his church and not asking Obama if the reason he is not denouncing his church is due to the fact Obama believes in the Black Liberation Theology teachings of his former church.

Mr. USA, The high gas prices are also the fault of the Democrats. President Bush has been trying for years to get the Democrats to let oil companies drill for more oil here on our own soil and build new refineries. If this had been done eight years ago (as President Bush wanted) the US would not be experiencing the high gas prices we are now and would be much less dependent on Middle Eastern oil.
If Obama gets elected our energy crises will get even worse. Obama is for placing even more restrictions on energy production. Obama is trying to con the public into believing there is some type of magic bullet out there that will replace oil when there is none. Obama is using Global Warming fear tactics to justify higher taxes. As Obama stated “We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.
“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.

To be frank, Reverends, preachers and priests should not make political comments in their churches, separaton of church and state. That applies to Hagee,Robertson, Wright, Fledger and any other. The use of Religion is just making matters worse and these religious leaders know they hold some influence among their flock.

YES!!! Let them drill for US oil and sell it to China and India. Smart. It may bring down the price per gallon by .05 (until China and India’s demand outpace the supply). You are for free markets, right? They can still sell on the global market, right? You know, it’s the speculators that set the price(as oppose to say, the US government, certainly not the executive branch), right? So, what are you going to do, the oil drilled in the US (oh, gas companies say they DON’T believe they should invest in new refineries to process the crude) should only be SOLD in the US? What happen to the free markets? This is a nuts in a vice senario and no President can unring the bell.

Rita, Have you not heard of supply and demand? The higher the supply the lower the prices. More oil in the marketplace no matter what its source leads to lower prices. Also, think about the shipping issues including the environmental damage oil spills have done to the environment. Thus all around it would be better if the US could take advantage of the oil here at home.

I was being sarcastic. If the oil in Alaska is now being sold to Japan. Who makes the oil companies ONLY sell it in America? If, this is a capitalistic society, how do you prohibit the oil companies from selling it to other nations? The new economies in China and India will ensure that demand outpaces supply. So, your statement, “The higher the supply the lower the prices” will not be sustainable.

I don’t care what color Barack Obama is. There are some real truths that were uncovered during these primaries:
1st) Barack and Michelle Obama felt comfortable enough to welcome and have a long-standing personal relationship with two outspoken racists and haters of America: Rev. Wright and Rev. Pfleger.
2nd) Despite all his talk of unity and a “different kind of politics”… Barack Obama made sure his lawyers BLOCKED a revote in Michigan and Florida…see New York Times article on May 24th.
3rd) At a time of war and recession… Barack Obama has so little experience on his resume that I am really concerned about our leader being taken advantage of when dealing with oppositional leaders from other countries.
4th) How much bi-partison leadership can there be with a man who was the most liberal voting democrate in Congress…?
5th) With his inability to sustain the middle class American white vote… he is clearly looking like a Liberal elitist…definately along the veins of McGovern, Dukakis, and Kerry…all big time losers in the general election.
So again…I can’t vote for Barack because of what I have fairly learned about his. He is just a bad candidate.

If you don’t have an increase in refineries, then there is still a bottleneck. Refineries apparently can’t run year-run. And, as I have read, the oil companies decided not to build new refineries when Bush brough out the corn/switchgrass ethanol option last year. You know, with corn, the “we gotta eat some of it” quote. So, gas will continue to go up and food prices are rising because alot farmer is switching to corn for the subsidies and that depletes wheat, grain and dairy production.

The public has a right to know about the fact Obama is pretty ignorant of world history and has a track record of lies and gaffes when not in front of a teleprompter

I will bet that 90% of the John McCain supporters have never taken the time listen to Barack Obama (1.) Because hes Democrat (2.) Because he is a black man. You figure out the rest more George Bush.

P.S. If Obama had got his way and Saddam was still in power the West would be dealing with TWO major middle eastern powers on the brink or already in possession of nuclear weapons thumbing their nose at the US.

PS: If Saddam was still in power the Iraqis would have means to stop terrorism from happening in their country. There would thousand of people (Americans and Iraqis alike) still alive. There would be a weight against the religious regime in Iran.
Oh my all that would be so bad ….

The democratic nomination process is the biggest bunch of bs I have experienced since the US Supreme Court hijacked the presidential election 4 yrs ago. The people’s vote is basically ignored whereas a bunch of ‘superdelegates’ decide their nominee. Why even have a primary season? This year, the media and a bunch of flakey members of congress perverted the process. Well, this democrat is leaving the party for good and will tender my vote to McCain as a repudiation of their party. You can count on it.

One more thing. We the American electorate are so stupid (put GW in office twice). Please note that experience counts. Whenever I interviewed for any job, the first question is what type of experience do you have and not what are your dreams. We will continue this lovefest until we are scre*ed over with an intern at the helm on the very low part of the learning curve.

This election will go down as the first Affirmative Action presidential candidate to lose.

Oh, what a huge surprise, spread the word!
McCain 2008 – Yes, we can! The man in the center!
Sincerely,
A reformed democrat

All this time, James Clyburn sat back acting like he had not made a decision on endorsing Obama.
He is just looking for his “15 Minutes of Fame”.
Seems like everyone who wants to finally be somebody, comes out and make their solo announcement. Whippee!
Like I said, he just wants to be recognized!!!

THIS ELECTION HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST HIJACK BY THE SEXIST DELEGATE “BOY’S CLUB” BEGINNING WAY BACK FROM THE TIME EDWARDS OPENED HIS LAWYER MOUTH AND COULD COME UP WITH NOTHING MORE THAN CRITICISM OF HILLARY’S PANTSUIT, TO TODAY, WHEN YOU SEE THIS OTHER BLACK-RACE-CRY BABY, ENDORSEMENT. LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, WHEN IT BECAME EVIDENT THAT THIS WAS ALL ABOUT SLAPPING A WOMAN IN THE FACE AND CLOSING THE DOOR TO THE “CLUB”, THEN I KNEW WHAT MY OWN HUSBAND WAS TELLING ME ABOUT AMERICAN POLITICS, IT’S ALL ABOUT DEEP POCKET GREED AND NOT ABOUT WHAT’S BEST FOR THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY. YOU TALK ABOUT THE TREATMENT OF WOMEN IN MUSLIM COUNTRIES BEING BAD, WELL AT LEAST IT’S OUT IN THE OPEN THERE.

You know it truly is amazing that so many people care about race and racism all of a sudden.Boy the Hillary supporters are HOT TODAY,they’re calling names making insults towards people, cursing. I think they all need to read the comment Nat Turner made at 6:16,say it again Nat Turner.Mr.USA thank you for your comment.I read the comments from Hillary supporters that say they will vote for Mccain in Nov,they say it like they are hurting Obama, well they really are but most of all they will be hurting the American people of Good Ol AMerica. Some of you had a fit when Rev.Wright made his comment about your Good Ol America but you’ll go to the polls and vote for a candidate that doesn’t have any issues to put this country back in a positive direction. So go right ahead and vote for Mccain, you’ll be hurting yourself also.

Let all of the supporters of race baiting leave along with Clitons crying about the race and how it went. They started using race and it blew up in their face. She steals his platform and loses. She only addresses caucasians. Way to divide Clintons! I don’t understand why the delegates weren’t with him in the beginning. Those illiterate voters who would rather have 4 more years of Bush are as stupid as they look. I’m sure it runs in the family, like bigotry. It’s ashame that we never addressed the racial issues that still plague us. It’s now showing at a theatre near you, everywhere. They have brought the truth out about how dummocrat politicians and redumicans think. Let all of them be excused from dealing with the real issues and talk about one persons pastor. Great job media! Fooled some people, BUT NOT ALL.

The Reagan democrats and indpendents are doing what is best for their country, voting for McCain.

Anti-liberal, thats why they call you “Reagan Democrats”. They can have you, what the heck is a Reagan Dem?? Kinda like a Nixon Dem?? Anyway, we didn’t need you with Bill Clinton, and we won’t need you with Obama.

With Barack Obama as the democratic nominee, race will be front and center in determining our next president. You will not be able to hide your racial feelings in the closet anymore. If you are a white Obama supporter, good for you. You obviously are able to see past the color of his skin and feel a real connection to his message. We should all be so lucky. I am addressing my fellow white countrymen/women who are card carrying democrats who choose to turn their backs on their party because their candidate is not the nominee. I have heard too many lame excuses as to why you will not support Obama…from ‘he’s too inexperienced, he’s a radical, racist or shady, or he’s not patriotic or he’s a Muslim’. This are simply lame excuses to disguise your real reason for not voting as you HAVE ALWAYS VOTED, the truth is he’s black! If you truly think that our country needs a new direction or change, if you think our current foreign policies, economic, educational and social systems are in shambles, then how can you as a TRUE DEMOCRAT justifiably spurn Sen. Obama’s message of change? It’s rather interesting how my fellow white Americans cringe with the subject of race in America is broached and many want to deny that racial issues still exist altogether. You cannot deny what is undeniable. Race will always be an issue in America but it does not have to be an issue in this election. Our country is more diverse than every before and what better time could there be to elect a president that TRULY can relate to ALL Americans, the minorities and the majorities of this country. Again, if you’re a HRC supporter and you don’t support your democratic nominee whose policies are virtually identical to those of Hillary Clinton, ask yourself why? Is it the color of his skin? Vote for Change, vote Obama’08!

Folks wont vote for Obama because he is too liberal, has no experience, and has a freaky preacher and angry wife.
Apparently those reasons arent good enough for Obama radicals.
Their rationalle is if you dont vote for Obama, you are a RACIST.
lol……….
Posted by: cgeast | June 3, 2008, 10:45 am 10:45 am
cgeast, my post was directed to HRC supporters, no one else. Side by side Obama and Clinton policies are identical. If you vote for one you can surely vote for the other. Read thoroughly before you inject your comments into someone else’s post.

Reagan democrats originated from the democrats that voted for Reagan. He was more in the center, represented them best. It is those central people that will be supporting McCain. Obama is too liberal – he does not represent the working class.

Matter of fact, its been PROVEN that if Gore and Kerry carried as much of the AA vote as Clinton they would have won.
Posted by: The Oracle | June 3, 2008, 10:56 am 10:56 am
Oh Robert…..I think you have Obama confused with Hill and Bill. If you are honest the race abiting started when Hillary took credit away from MLK nad gave it to LBJ and Bill remarks in Sc. So, stop the lies and be honest because we all know when the race baiting started. I will have to agree that race was bought in to play yhe minute Obama announced he would be running for president, and that is simply because he is black, nothing else. I am so sick of people saying Obama supporters drink the kool-aid, are racist, brainwashed or are cult memebers. I am here to tell you that I am none of those I simply believe that Obama will be a better president than Hillary or McCain. I was all Hillary when this thing first start but I began to see things that were very desturbing to me and I had a hard time making the decision to support Obama, but that was my choice and I don’t appreciate anyone telling me the reason I did what I did because I did what I thought was best and I have been a person that normally have good judgement! So, my decision is my choice and I have that right so stop telling me that I made it for reasons that I did not!

I’ve been sitting on pins and needles wondering who Clyburn would endorse.
Now if I could just figure out who Donna Brazile will endorse.
They are not fooling anyone by waiting.
The DNC and superdelegate concept is a joke.
Hillary08/2012 or McCain08

I just don’t understand why the Obama supporters keep saying that his policies are the same as Clintons. They are so different. The only way it seems as if its the same is when Obama tries to hide behind Clinton’s policies so he can pretend they are the same. It is almost like just because you keep repeating that something is similar it becomes similar when in reality they are totally different. Taxes for one and Iraq for another. These are the two most important policies that will affect us.
Posted by: voter | June 3, 2008, 2:00 pm 2:00 pm
The problem isn’t policies. The problem is trust. We trust Senator Clinton’s judgement and experience. We do not either Senator Obama’s judgement or experience. He spent 20 years in a far, far left cabal in Chicago with Wright, Phagler, Ayers, Dohrn etc. He supports their causes personally and with tax payer money. We are appalled. We do not trust him to have the best interests of the US at heart. He can make all the speeches he wants to make. We do not trust him. We will not vote for him. We disagree, respectfully, with Senator McCain on the issues. However, he is a true American hero and he will have the best interests of the US at heart.

Obination…. Another pre-mature victory declaration by Obama. Before the polls close he’s saying he’s won. Even though he won’t have enough pledged delegates. He did the same thing two weeks ago declaring victory when he had majority of pledged delegates. This guy is REALLY an elitist. Can’t he wait until the super-delegates declare. Whats up with his arogance. Hes doomed in Nov. Vote McCain or nader and send this smug -elitist a message.
