McCain Praises Hillary

ABC News’s Bret Hovell Reports: Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., offered what seemed to be a fond farewell to rival Hillary Clinton this afternoon at a town hall meeting in Nashville, Tennessee.

McCain was reminded by an audience member that though he had mentioned Barack Obama several times during his remarks, he had not talked about Clinton, even though, as the woman said, she is "technically" still in the race.

"Yes, Senator Clinton is still in the race," McCain said. "I have known Senator Clinton, and I admire her and I respect her.

"She has inspired generations of American women to believe that they can reach the highest office in this nation, and I respect her campaign, and I respect her," McCain said to widespread applause from what seemed like a pretty conservative crowd.

"Now she and I have stark differences on issues, and those are, those are well known," he continued. "And I have debated many of those issues on the floor of the Senate with her, and other places. But I admire the campaign she has run. I think she deserves a great deal of credit."

Recently, McCain has been speaking in these types of glowing terms about Clinton – when he speaks of her at all. Earlier in his campaign, McCain would not mention Senator Barack Obama without also mentioning Clinton, or vice versa. But as Obama’s grasp on the eventual Democratic nomination has grown increasingly firm, McCain’s speeches have more and more been peppered with criticisms of the Illinois Democrat alone.

Despite the seeming end of the road for Clinton, McCain did offer one bit of warning to Republicans, and perhaps a point of optimism for the former first lady.

"I think a few of us who have been around politics for a while, learned a lesson way back in 1992, that you better never count a Clinton out of any race," he said

Of course he praises her. DUH!! He is using their anger against Obama.
He is welcoming the drones into his waiting open arms. Come cry on grampa’s shoulder.
The pity is these people are probably dumb enough to fall for it.

She will get you more votes than anyone can guess!
LOL LOL John you must be giddy with excitement. You are going to get to kick Bush’s butt out of the WH!!!!
NO OBAMA! NEVER OBAMA!

HRC supporters, she has run a great race! I do support Obama, I don’t buy the “Popular vote” slogan when it’s reached by leaving out 10+ states, so much for every vote counting. BUT do you really think the Republicans are pushing for her because they think they can beat her? No, they can bring up alot of dirt from the Bill years in the WH. I voted for Bill 2x, Hillary 2x as Sen. Honestly she hasn’t fulfilled any of her promises here in Upstate NY, but I still voted for her in the primary, then the in my opinion, the office became more important to her than the people. Even at that moment, I believed in the Democratic ideals. I don’t want a third term of Bush! Please, this really needs to stop, it is no longer about the country but her. Health care, economy, the war (kids are being killed) Stop the madness, we need to get behind the nominee with the popular vote (that includes all states! Remember every vote counts!) The delegate count, which is the measure and defeat McBush!

Hillary-supporters who will vote for McCain. BE MY GUEST!!!!! You are going to lose your homes, lose your jobs, see your kids on the streets, pay $10/galloon, pay more taxes, have no health benefits…. You will feel the pain. And it will be YOUR mistake. Because you can’t survive, you are losers and you need a democrat administration to keep you alive on our expense.

Of course McCain loves Hillary and Chelsea, of whom he once said was ugly thanks to being the daughter of Hillary and Janet Reno. This McCain who has humiliated his wife as well is now the biggest feminist in America’s history. Sweet!!!!

Posted by: carl29 | June 2, 2008, 6:37 pm 6:37 pm

jasonlv — the ‘Clinton’ supporters who claim they’ll vote for Obama are mostly Rush Limbaugh ‘OPERATION CHAOS’ volunteers. Limbaugh instructed his listeners to assume the online identities of Clinton supporters saying they’ll vote for McCain. The Republican party thinks this type of cheap, desperate tactic is going to somehow fool people into voting for McCain. It really shows the level of panic the Republican party is in after getting soundly beat in the 2006 elections, and on their way to turmoil in 2008.

Posted by: Eric | June 2, 2008, 6:39 pm 6:39 pm

Eric – you don’t actually think american people are that stupid to listen to Rush limbaugh Do you?? And how many states allow republican-registered to vote democrat?? and of that many states, how many people listened to Limbaugh to make any difference?? I cannot believe you and the obama campaign actually blam Limbaugh for losing Indiana to Hillary.

Posted by: hannah | June 2, 2008, 6:51 pm 6:51 pm

Of course McCain’s hoping some Clinton supporters will vote for him. So is Obama. Neither one is stupid, I just think Obama is more deceptive and manipulative than McCain. After all, McCain risked his life fighting for his country–a bad war, I agree. Obama has never done anything for his country; it’s all about him and his ego. And just look at Michelle Obama–talk about an ego! I can’t imagine her as First Lady.

“it’s Obama who will raise your taxes and make you share your pies.”
Obama’s prostrating White slaves will grab your pies and hand the pies to their Black masters. These White slaves will be in heaven if their master drop half a tablespoon of crumbs. Then the White slaves will, in the presence of their masters, spit on their fellow White citizens who had refused to surrender to the Black master, yelling “You White trash, you don’t even get to eat crumbs.”

Hillary supporters,
John McCain respects Hillary and her years of service to the nation.
We welcome your support in November if the media helps steal the nomination from Hillary!
If Obama loses the general election, Hillary’s 2012 campaign starts Nov. 5th.
Maybe we will see McCain vs Hillary in 2012 if McCain wins the general election.

Dear Sen Obama has been an elected official longer than your HRC! Don’t tell me she has experience being first lady, she was so close to the oval office she didn’t know what a cigar lover her husband was! I love how you all beat up on Michele, she is a strong woman like HRC! Honestly as a black woman, I was proud of my country for the first time in a long time! We have done nothing but bully other countries, kept women and minorities down, and look we had a black man and a women vieying for the most powerful office on earth! You Clinton fans hate when your labeled racist, but I find it funny you will put down a strong woman of color, who you took her comments way out of context, but embrace a woman who played the race card, lied about Bosnia, travel gate, and even the popular vote( if you want all votes to count, you have to count those 10+ states you left out of your equation, just a thought) she couldn’t handle her campaign finances, but you want her to help the economy! OK! You want to hold Sen. Obama responsible for all that come out of others mouths, but give Hill a pass on the blatant Bosnia lie she told MANY times. They hold many of the same views, so what is your issue? Your either sexist, racist or just a sore loser! Please let us know which one it is so we can pity you!
Rant over, stepping off soap box

I agree with you I am equally mad at the dems for the way they have handled this primary.Bunch of despots and fools.
Mccain has treated Hillary with the greatest respect, dignity and admiration. After the latest pastorgate he specifically denounced Hillary’s mistreatment. It was days and endless nights of political calculation after which Obama did it.
McCain is the only candidate left in the race if Hillary looses the nomination who has the experience the intellect and the integrity. No ,wait a minute, I forgot 20 years of Rev Wright experience ,15 years of Rev Flagel experience combined with the integrity of a serial liar and judgement of a door knob from Mr.Obama and the snobbery of a supermodel to top all of that.

Stop being the stereotype, petty, vindictive, short sighted! You want and equal playing field till your on the short end of the stick, then expect the rules to be changed. How dare you leave that legacy for those who will come after you, your daughters, grand daughters! Their road to the top will be a harder climb because of your “hysteria” Vote for McCain, set womens rights back further, he will have at least 2 Supreme court nominees, women will not have equal pay, the right to make decisions for their own body and lives and when you bury your child, as a friend of mine did for a needless war, REMEMBER YOU DIDN’T PUNISH US, YOU DID THIS TO YOURSELVES! BZZZ!! WRONG!
Number one the media had her as the assumptive nominee and even she thought so, but surprise… surprise… and that was the real meaning behind the ministers message. Whether the contender was black/white/asian/hispanic…. Hillary did think she was entitled to the nomination just as many of her followers. I had no problem supporting whoever won and defended her about that movie theater ad put out against her.
But her arrogance and lies began to show. And then Bill and his lies and trying to inject race to break up the Obama diverse following broke my support.
The media spent 3 months on Wright and continues this day.
Hagee/Parsley coverage is over. Done.
Despite McCain SEEKING out their endorsements.
Hillary Bosnia story was washed over as a mistake from so many trips, blah, blah, blah… but there was lil Chelsea who accounted the EXACT SAME thing. Sounds like they planned and talked about it to me. LOL!
2012 should be Obama’s 2nd term.
If he doesn’t make it in 2008 it will be because of Hillary supporters living up to that white ministers show at his former church.
If this happen there will not McCain in 2008, but McCain in 2012 because an act of betrayal such as this will not be forgotten. ;)

This is one HRC supporter that will never vote for Obama. I have always respected John McCain and contrary to Obama supporters belief, McCain has always respected HRC and has worked with her in the Senate for years. As long as McCain picks a moderate VP I will vote for him in November. If he does not I will stay home for the first time since I was 18 years old.
So while you Obama supporters ridicule me, remember you’re part of the problem, you could have been part of the solution.

Posted by: Regina | June 2, 2008, 7:43 pm 7:43 pm

“Everyone respects Hillary. Even Karl Rove.”
Karl Rove called her both ‘fatally flawed’ and ‘unable to win’. Mccain’s recent ‘respect’ is born out of a desire to court her conservative blue collar constituency (that rove has forever lost), and not a sign of honest respect for her, just for the people she’s been able to court.
Like her or not, she’s neither great nor as mediocre as mccain. She was able to take large chunks of Mccain’s base because he failed to appeal to traditional conservatives due to inconsistencies in his ‘straight talk’ vs ‘actual business’ , while at the same time unable rachet up the next level of insanity required to court rove’s neo-conservative base.
This is the little secret of Rove’s ‘genius’, his dixie cup constituency. He sold them a bill of goods ( a promised christian sharia, a tiny government run by blue collar nazcar loving liberty-u educated holy men, along with a new empire and crusade ) and then didn’t deliver, now he won’t get them back unless he can convince them satan is running against mccain, and that mccain’s first action will be to restart the civil war, then rid america of anyone whose not ultra right wing and whose direct ancestors weren’t on the mayflower.

We don’t spew hate! You dislike a man for no reason! He and HRC pretty much have the same views, the difference is he is black and she’s a woman. While I didn’t care for or like the campaign she ran, if she was the fair and square winner I would vote for her because of the ideals of our party and what they hope to achieve. You HRC supporters want it you way or no way at all. You would rather subject this country to another Bush presidency than try and make both Obama’s and Clintons view of this country come true! You dislike a man and continue with innuendo, bias with NO proof! If there was something out there Fox would have found it, they have a very large file on Hill, small on Obama. So who is spewing hate? Who wants to bring more soldiers back in body bags because you didn’t get your way? Think about it.

Posted by: bruce becker | June 2, 2008, 7:52 pm 7:52 pm

the reason you angry female Clinton voters are supporting Mcain is because you wanted to see a woman president. I agree that it is full time a woman becomes president …but you should think with your brain not your emotions.

Posted by: Jim-Bob | June 2, 2008, 7:53 pm 7:53 pm

I am a Hillary supporter and I really don’t know what I’m going to do. It’s not a matter of revenge or not being able to put the needs of the country before my emotions.
It’s that I really don’t think Obama has shown he is qualified for this position. McCain also seems risky in a lot of ways & disagree with him domestically on most issues.
I feel like we’re left with two loose-canon, bad choices. I wanted to like Obama, but so often when he speaks it’s all style and deflection, and no real substance.
So…for the first time in my life I am thus far undecided. I might not vote at all. I might write in “Hillary”. I might vote for Obama, I might vote for McCain. It depends on what I’ll see in the debates and on the campaign trail.
But it’s not about revenge and all this anti-Hillary spewing does not reflect well on Obama’s supporters as far as I’m concerned. I wanted to like Obama but from the bottom of my heart I just find his ‘inspiring’ rhetoric empty and lacking.

Posted by: Sarah | June 2, 2008, 7:56 pm 7:56 pm

————————-
Please just post ONE example, ONE! I beg you please! She has been nothing but nasty, he gave her a pass on the RFK reference and the next week she was beating him up saying he didn’t say enough about the Catholic priest. He gave her a pass on Bosnia and she road him on Rev. Wright, things that didn’t come out of his mouth, but things that came out of hers! What do you know what Michele would do? Did you speak to her, did she EVER say she wouldn’t? I’ll be waiting for the links to the disrespectful comments.

Vic…
The only person with experience to be the president is a RETURNING president.
Sitting in that seat is different story.
The experience message has already been proven to be way overblown by the Hillary camp. Being a spouse does not count as experience. Sorry.
Again, unless you knew Rev. Wright for 20 yrs and Obama and went to their church you are doing nothing, but quoting rhetoric. The same goes for this other minister.
Ministers do not determine your intelligence or your character in most cases. Anyone who attends a church knows this. Church is filled with battles, bad characters, etc… as well as the good. This is what makes it a great place to learn how to get along.
Entitlement is the issue here for Hillary and the hard pressed supporters with her losing a FAIR election. If the tides were turned and they somehow gave Obama the lead after Hillary had the lead then she would have been cheated.
She is living the real “Shock and Awe”
Get over it! Putting McCain in office would be the biggest mistake her supporters would make and would make you wonder what do they really stand for.
Having Obama in the white house means your voice is still strong and will be heard. McCain will just send off our troops to more wars with a higher possiblity of torture and come home with no benefits.

And about that short term memory loss, no testing for the extent of that either. Why not? I hear you plan to keep Sen Lieberman by your bedstand for that 3 AM call.

Sen. McCain at least has the insight to realize how upset many Clinton supporters are at the way she has been treated in the press and by Obama supporters during this campaign. It is actually refreshing to see one candidate treat an opposing party’s candidate with the respect she has earned. There has been so much manipulation of this campaign by the Obama camp, so much disloyalty and backstabbing by former friends of the Clintons, and so much hatefulness by Obama supporters, I am not at all surprised that many older Democrats are turning independent and vowing to vote for McCain. Older Democrats and working class Democrats have been ridiculed as being a thing of the past, unimportant, and uneducated. Many of the young “educated” voters who voted for Sen. Obama haven’t even had to deal with real problems yet in their lives, yet they chastise those of us who have dealt with managing too many bills on not enough income, skyrocketing insurance premiums, skyrocketing property taxes on our homes, how to put our kids through college, inadequate or no health insurance, and too many other issues to even mention for not supporting Obama. Sen. Obama’s campaign didn’t worry about their underhanded tactics earlier in the campaign, but in Nov. they just may reap what they have sown. Even today, the blogs are still full of hateful remarks about Sen. Clinton, that sure isn’t helping to “unite” the Democratic Party.

There is truth in old sayings such as catching more with honey than vinegar. It does seem like the McCain camp has found that out on this blog. Part of success is being able to turn on a dime and I hope the Obama people can see that their knives need to be put away while they are trying to court those they still need. Your vote count is currently less than a third of the vote that the current President received to get put back into office. Even Obama said the he would talk to Clinton at a time and place of HER choosing. So many of you just want to dig the knife in deeper and deeper, but you don’t kill us … you only increase the resentment.

Many HRC people saying they will vote for McCain also told exit pollsters that they voted for HRC over Obama based on race.
This election will be won in September when new people are asked to register. Dems will be more organized and quite a bit more involved, since they realize we are fighting to restore the Constitution, from habeas corpus to your right to see the evidence against you. McCain is for waterboarding prisoners and Obama wants to restore your right to not have to testify against yourself, on a waterboard. This election is now about civil rights. I suspect women will notice that. Republicans will be abusing the religion of the fundamentalists to get out the vote against the civil rights of men or women who prefer to be intimate with same sex partners. They used to complain that gays were promiscuous, and now that they want to marry and settle down, that is also a target. Basically the right wing campaign is about attacking people who are different from you. Color, race, sex, religion. All of it. Anti-Muslim rhetoric, Anti-French fry jokes.
On and on, with division and denial of the rights of others, the main theme of the right. That ought to quell a lot of the nasty talk from disappointed HRC women, when they get a sense for the kind of repressive judges McCain has to appoint to appease the fundamentalists. Abortion will be gone. Just because HRC’s most grumpy supporters are post-menapausal doesnt mean that dont know what that means to the rights of younger women to choose a lifestyle out of poverty.

Bruce I don’t care what race a candidate is, I care what the candidate stands for, whether they are qualified for the position, and whether I believe they are the best choice.
I do not believe Obama is the best choice and never will.

Thank you for being honest and not nasty! :) I don’t know how much you know about black churches, his has thousands of members, I am no Rev. Wright fan, but you can’t expect him to micro manage his church. He is there to praise god, and try and get a bit of why we are here. My great grandmothers church in NYC was an very much like his, for the 2% you heard that was bad, there is 98% good. Community food banks, out reach, drug counceling, it’s more than a few sound bites. When she was alive I didn’t always agree, but I took the time to understand. Rev Wright and those like him are from a different generation, they know dogs and hoses to just be able to have the a little piece of the American Dream. They also preached inclusion, education and standing on your own two feet. Many of these churches believe in self improvement, they are against affirmative action, welfare. They believe in lifting yourself up. It’s not all black and white.

Lets see. Florida & Michigan had NO VOTES or DELEGATES.
The DNC met them halfway and they did not have to do this. They have votes and delegates now part of the process.
If you want to complain about the DNC make sure you remember those that did not vote in the primary with the belief as officially stated that it would not count.
How do you count their votes fairly?
The reality is we don’t know what the portion would be but you don’t just vote those that showed up because that is similar to voter fraud.

If Obama people really don’t believe Clinton supporters will defect to John McCain en mass, they will get a rude awakening come November 3rd.
My vote goes to the best candidate regardless of party and THAT IS NOT OBAMA.

Ok that is your opinion! Remember, the economy, the supreme court appointments, the war is all on you! How many more children need to be killed? Greg said “but you don’t just vote those that showed up because that is similar to voter fraud.”
You must consider every election ever held to be voter fraud since it is rare for over 60% of the eligible voters to ever participate.

Your right in some ways. Saddam was a bad man, but how many honor killings have happened since he is gone? It’s very high, he didn’t tolerate them. How many women have lost jobs, not had a chance to be educated because of the conservative religious zealots we allowed to take power? Women who owned property have had it taken. Jews and Christians in Iraq could worship, now they have to in secret or leave. This is the same thing that happened in Afghanistan, we repeat the same thing, and think the outcome will be different. Isn’t that the definition of insanity?

Sarah…
Both candidates are pretty much the same. This has been filtered out so I’m not sure how people get rhetoric from Obama and not Hillary. Deflection?
Hillary response to questions was never to answer. It was always… “Well the American people know… blah, blah, blah..” but she never answered. Then when the Meet the Press guy pushed all candidates for answers everyone felt she was the only one pressed. George Stephanopolous worked for them and him asking hime about a guy when he was 8 yrs old was just ridiculous. But it did its damage because everyone ignored this and just automatically ran with the association thing.
Google search on: Peter Paul Clintons will reveal more about Hillary than many are willing to recognize. She says she has been vetted, but in reality I found out recently that there is something ongoing this day that can’t be covered because of some that clause everyone had to adhere too.
No candidate has the answers.
They only have ideas. She said she has solutions, but they don’t becomes solutions unless adopted. I’m sure you have ideas or solutions, but until it becomes adopted and tried in the real world they are not solutions.
I’m a software engineer and testing is critical. And many times testing needs to be done by an outside source/tester otherwise things will be missed.
No president does it alone. They have advisors and cabinet members, etc…
I think Obama will do fine.
I’d go along with Hillary having a cabinet spot.

Catleya…
His following proves he can unite people. His church is diverse as well or do you not see the white people that are members of his former church.
What has Hillary done to unite people?
Since their rant and whining all they have done is divide the party.
She used the emotion of Florida and Michigan not getting to vote as a front to continue her own agenda and again split the party.
The polls show that SHE has split the party not Obama. Obama compliments her, seats her during debates (so why not get him a pillow to sit on), acknowledges her wins something a person with character will do. She doesn’t acknowledge Obama wins.
Sad.

Ann,
I can’t force how you vote, but if you vote for McCain and the same stuff is going on don’t complain. And you will be doing just that. LOL!
Obama and Hillary are pretty much the same with a few differences. So a vote for McCain is actually a vote against Hillary because if she goes back to being a Senator now she will have to deal with yet another Republican president.
Somehow I don’t think even in a losing cause she wants that. ;)

Joe…
How many kids were killed TAKING Saddam out of power.
That was NOT our mission as we were told.
China neglects as well, but we won’t attack because they really have WMD.
Pakistan has WMD and is the reason Bin Laden is still alive and hiding there.
The casualties on both sides, especially since it was over a lie, was not worth it. I’d rather have my troops shoring up our port security and other areas. McCain wants you to go to war before you get benefits, so this guy is crazy. LOL!

Posted by: Greg | June 2, 2008, 9:27 pm 9:27 pm

Regina…
I support the democratic party first.
Then Obama. If Hillary won more delegates come November I would have voted for her. The same with Edwards, Biden, Richards, etc…
So I am not the problem.
I am the solution.
You have put a personal favorite ahead of the party agenda.
No one has taken this race from her.
Votes were cast and she LOST!
Simple as that. She wants the SD’s to overrule OUR votes which is not democratic at all.
If you want to stay home, I can’t stop you, but again, putting a republican back in at President will make work harder for Hillary as a Senator. ;)

A lot of people are hiding behind really thin reasoning and poor logic for not voting for Obama so I’m wondering.

If Hillary’s opponent at this stage of the race were Senator Dodd, Senator Biden or Senator Edwards, I would have no reservations about supporting any one of these fine candidates if they were to go on to win the nomination. Supporters of Barack Obama are no doubt inclined to believe that the willingness of some of Hillary’s supporters to vote for McCain is just sour grapes and out of spite, but this isn’t true. Not in my case, at least.
I just do not believe Barack Obama is qualified or ready to be president. I’m sorry, but I don’t see it.

His church is a black church, everybody knows that.
No argue about it.
I don’t ask what Hillary has done to unite this country but I asked about him because he keeps saying he can unite this country.
If you promise something, please would ask you back.
She doesn’t split the party. If she split the party she would not get popular votes.

” “…
Shows a good example of taking a quote out of context. LOL!
I’ll remove the percentages because they mean nothing in this context.
Yes I said this as quoted:
Greg said “but you don’t just vote those that showed up because that is similar to voter fraud.”
” ” response was…
“You must consider every election ever held to be voter fraud since it is rare for over 60% of the eligible voters to ever participate.”
Now… here is the problem with ” ” response. ” ” blank is talking about participation in a primary that counts. In a situation like no one has a right to complain. You either participate or you don’t.
In this case with Florida & Michigan it was stated OFFICIALLY that the PRIMARY WOULD NOT COUNT.
So by counting those that showed up suddenly is not fair because some will argue is there more to this announcement then meets the eye. It could be used to intentionally mislead people or keep them from voting.
So lets not confuse the two.
The best way to settle this was to not move up in the first place. They blamed the republicans for this, so why would you now turn and vote for the party that caused this issue?????????????
Obama didn’t cause this.
The leaders of those states caused it and it makes no sense to hate the DNC for enforcing the rules to keep order for our primaries, after all they did meet them halfway.
But if people want to vote for the party that created this fiasco then more power to them. LOL!

Posted by: Greg | June 2, 2008, 10:06 pm 10:06 pm

Scott…
Ok, but what makes you ready for the president of the US????
The experience Hillary sports is exaggerated, so what makes her ready and Obama not?
The president of the US is a unique job that you don’t receive training for unless you were VP. Other than that it is all new.
I am tired of the old politics. I’m tired of being mislead. I know of about 30 people who didn’t believe me about the Iraq war and some other things, but now see I was right.
I’m not voting for Obama out of emotion.
I’m voting for him because I believe in what he stands for and what he brings to the table.
I just heard Hillary making a speech about making the decisions as president.
She said we will not know until the cameras are gone and the lights are out whether they know how to make the decisions. This is true. Every president on his first term is being given a CHANCE.

catleya…
I’m quite sure you know a lot, but many people are quoting media and others on things they know NOTHING about. The 20 yr statement is proof of this. Knowing someone for 20 yrs doesn’t mean you’ve heard something for over 20 yrs.
The popular vote that she has is by her own math. And this math goes against what she claims she stands for which is counting every vote and this is the issue I have with her. She will MOLD things to make it look favorable to or about her even if it means misleading people. She is not counting the Caucus states which goes against counting every vote and including everyone. THAT IS NOT UNITY!
It is the OLD POLITICS we need to stop to progress in this country or it will fall. We are not above that possiblity if corruption continues to go unanswered.
The polls show that SHE has split the party. Before all of this misleading of looking out for Florida and Michigan and making false statements about her being treated oh so badly both sides of the stream would support the other.
Now Hillary supporters said they will not support Obama.
How is that not splitting?????????????
Ickes called the delegates hijacking.
They had NONE to begin with.
You cannot say a primary doesn’t count and then decide later on, “Oh we will just count those that showed up.”, because then you’ve just done an injustice to those that believed the primary wasn’t going to account by officals.
Now there is talk about how Obama can reach out to Hillary supporters.
They are so much a like there really is no reaching out he can do.
I think the Hillary supporters at the end of the day need to look at what they would turn to as pointed out by someone else.
We are talking about judicial appointments and various laws that could take away womens rights among other things.
Obama will do fine.
He will have a good cabinet and a favorable congress to get things done.
Bill, George, Ronald, Jimmy, Richard, etc… all got their chance. Why not Barack? The same would be said about Hillary, Edwards, etc…
People keep saying we know who McCain is. No we don’t. This guy has flipped on just about every issue. McCain knew those pastors history and thought he could squeeze it by because of what was going on between Obama and Hillary. To a degree it did because talk and media loops ended after a week. To this day I’m still seeing Rev Wright video and Hillary says she is being treated unfairly? Please!

No he didn’t sit in that Obama church for 20 years he hasn’t sat in any church for any long period of time but he judges. What he did do was step on the Martin Luther King Holiday for 20 years and when he became the Rep nominee he comes to memphis to say 20 years later I was wrong. He pleaded for the endorsements of Hagee and Parsley to Evangelical ministers who preach hate. He Flip Flops all the time says he is against torture then votes to allow it to continue, He has voted in step with Bush 95% of the time more then any other senator. He stood there laughing when at a town Hall meeting and a male got up and asked him how do we beat the bitch.

Hillary and McCain are politicians with backbone and would not duck fights. They would not let the others hand them the victory. They would earn it.

McCain’s graciousness and voice of moderation is exactly what we need to transition away from Bush. He is not Bush. He has experience and knowledge, and he knows all the ramifications of our security. Hillary is the best candidate. However, if Obama is the nominee of the Democrat Party, McCain will win.
We will not support someone with so little experience and troubling double-talk and backpedalling. The news media has helped push Obama to the forefront, and we are still not buying it. No Party is sacred, no matter what its history has been. Parties change, people change, and new parties come onto the horizon. While we ponder the new Party, McCain is the qualified candidate who can be trusted. He is fair, and he is balanced.

Ten percent of Hillary voters in Indiana said in the exit poll that they will vote for McCain over her in the general election. It’s not Hillary’s fault.
I didn’t vote for Obama because he has so little experience and he is a typical dirty politician pretending that he’s not.
McCain is a moderate Republican and with the Democratic Congress, we’ll be OK. It will be better than having an inexperienced novice like Obama who would be way in over his head as President.
The Obama supporters need to realize that many of the Clinton supporters who are voting for McCain have actually put some thought into it and are not voting on “sour grapes.”
