Mutual Appreciation Day
ABC’s Kate Snow reports: While Sen. Hillary Clinton was thanking supporters and formally ending her bid for the Democratic nomination, the presumptive nominee, Sen. Barack Obama was watching it live on a computer via the internet, according to Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton.
Burton said that Obama placed a call to his one-time rival following the speech but did not reach her immediately. Burton explained that her assistant informed Obama that she was speaking with supporters at the time.
Meanwhile, two new elements popped up today on both Democrats’ campaign websites today. On the Obama website frontpage there is a prominent "thank you Senator Clinton" statement and an invitation to send Clinton an email of thanks.
It reads, "Senator Clinton made history over the past 16 months — not just because she has broken barriers, but because she has inspired millions of Americans with her strength, her courage, and her commitment to causes like universal health care that make a difference in the lives of hardworking Americans…..Take a minute to thank her for her hard work and for supporting this campaign."
Meanwhile over on the Clinton campaign website homepage there is a new feature thanking her supporters and encouraging them to sign up to support Obama’s campaign. It reads, "Support Senator Obama today. Sign up now and together we can write the next chapter in America’s story."

mcCain can take a vaction because he will be elected president in 2008. The Republicans played the public and the Media like pawns saying Obama would be a problem. Yes Obama is a Problem for the Democrats now.
The whites in this country will vote like they do down south and will crush Obama in the General Election

Yes we should of left Germany after WW2 so they could build a powerfull army again and launch military attacks against the world
We should of also let Japan build a military empire after we defeated them in WW2 so they also could bomb pearl harbor like the terrorist did on 9-11

The boos and THUMBS DOWN you’ve all seen when she announce her support for Obama, reflects how many millions not caught by camera saying the same thing, AT LEAST 30% of democrats will NOT be vote for Obama, he will NEVER be President. For 40 years, the Democratic Party only occupied the WHITEHOUSE THREE TIMES, one was Carter in the 70′s next was President Bill Clinton in 1992 and 1996. I left the Democratic Party last Thursday, I’m now an Independent voter but will continue to be Hillary Clinton supporter forever. I will remember in November to vote for John McCain the next President of United States of America.

YOU EARNED ALL 18 MILL VOTES., WHILE OBAMA COASTED ON THE SHOULDERS OF HIS SUPPORTERS and his votes were handed t him on a silver platter. I will not support this cocky, arrogant political opportunist and can’t want till the Replicans start pounding him. I will do everything I can to encourage other HRC supporters to………

To all you Obama fans out there, don’t get too excited yet… You still have a LONG way to go to get to the White House.. As a Democrat, I most likely will not be voting in this election. It has nothing to do with being bitter over Hillary’s defeat.. I just can not vote for a man with virtually NO EXPERIENCE for the most important job in the world. For our country’s sake, and the world’s sake, I hope that Obama, or McCain will be a good President, and if so I will vote for them in the next election..
But really, how can any of you support a man with no experience, who has not proven himself at all, for the President of the United States??

Guys,
As I have said in march that Obama is a moving train that Hillary mache[inery can not stop him from being the nominee, my word has come true.
I will say it today that Obama is going to be our next president.
He is the choosen one to bring us back to the world glory that we lost sometime ago.
I wll come back to this topic after 6th November to remind you lot that I told you so.
God bless America.

Isn’t it GREAT to see an average American really make it big. Obama was raised by his single-mother with the help of his grandparents. He worked Hard, got a good education, and turned down large sums of money to go to work for the average American. What a great story. He raised his large sums of money for his campaign, not thru big corporate donors like many others, but thru average Americans giving $10 or $20 at a time. I suspect he is going to go down in history as one of the great presidents of all time. Obama will be Great in 2008!!!.

Have you ever noticed how McCain supporters make some of the most ridiculous claims? What’s even more scary is they seem to think such claims will sway anyone’s opinion.
How many people do you know who willingly tell you what they make??? Even when you ask them, do you really trust their reply? And then, to state they work for some paltry wage, like 2 cents? Wow, these folks really think we are all a bunch of idiots!
Then there are those that claim the Democrats are ‘elite’. You know, the party of women and minorities. The Democratic Presidential Candidate is so up-class, he had to pay for his own college tuition. No family fortune to put him through prepaid. Why, he only owns one home!
The Republican candidate, however, graduated at the bottom of his class in a prestigious military school. Getting into these schools requires political connections from his parents. You know, calls to senators and governors. And, the last I heard is McCain owns 8 homes! Not the run of the mill homes, but wealthy estates! Kinda makes the ‘elitist’ label hollow, doesn’t it?
Then there are the claims that the Democrats are removed from the poor and the working class. Obama was a community supporter for Chicago’s South Side from age 23, not exactly the wealthiest part of the town. And McCain, well, McCain didn’t.
Perhaps the posts from hate mongers here are stroking their own egos, but such obvious lies only support the notion that McCain’s supporters aren’t as honest as they profess. When the truth hurts, lie like hell.
Vote to Defeat the Republicans in ’08.

Who is the better candidate for creating CHANGE, the new kid on the block with the funny name, or the experienced Washington Bureaucrat with decades of history to maintain?
McCain is now trying to get on the ‘CHANGE’ bandwagon too (kind of a flip-flop, don’t you think?), claiming he is the candidate for ‘real change’. Change to what? More Iraq war? More dead soldiers? More jobs going overseas? More profits for the Oil Companies? More homes in foreclosure?
Your comments aren’t honoring Hillary Clinton. Your claim of Hillary or McCain is a slap to her face.

Posted by: J.C. | June 7, 2008, 10:57 pm 10:57 pm
I see a pattern:
Early in the Dem primary, when Clinton looked unstoppable, prominent Republicans went out of their way to praise Obama – saying they could vote for him because he “transcended politics”.
Self-styled “Independent voters” also favored Obama over Clinton, and gave similar reasons.
Later in the campaign, when it looked like Obama would win, Limbaugh launched “Operation Chaos”, encouraging Republican voters and self-styled “Independents” to cross-over and vote for Clinton – to stop the Obama Juggernaut, and basically just mess with the Democratic party.
Suddenly we started hearing “Independents” complaining about Obama’s “lack of experience”.
Now, we’re hearing again from self-styled “Independents” and “Hillary voters”. Now they claim they COULD NEVER EVER under NO CIRCUMSTANCES vote for Obama – why he’s just an upstart.
They didn’t seem to think this 8 months earlier, when they supported him!
Right….
Maybe Republicans and “Independents” were only ever interested in messing with the Democratic Party.
In McCain, they have a candidate that their own political activists despise, so their only hope of retaining control of the White House is by dividing the Democratic party.
They are trying to “bamboozle” their way into the White House.
Posted by: Bamboozlification | June 7, 2008, 11:00 pm 11:00 pm
Dallas, Obama ran a flawless campaign and you laugh. Why is that. Hillary didn’t have the forsite to look past Super Tuesday. She didn’t have a clear message. There was turmoil in her campaign and she is in deep debt. And you want her in charge, ok right. I have no problem voting for Hillary and Obama is not my savior. Nor have I been brainwashed.
Posted by: lisa | June 7, 2008, 11:01 pm 11:01 pm
I am disappointed with the attitude of many people in this country. You would think we have progressed to the point of accepting an African American candidate but people will use any excuse to chose the other guy. Obama has never disrespected Hillary and has gone out of his way to treat her with kindness especially now. But people still want to hold tight to their bitter anger and prejudice. When will this country change?
If people want to go on and vote for McCain, I suggest they kiss their rights goodbye. Women should just understand that they will no longer be able to decide what todo with their bodies and men will continue to go to war in Iraq. This economy will continue to decline at a rapid rate. So go on and vote for who you feel most “comfortable” with since you will never see the goodness in Obama because you are blinded by prejudice…really, really sad…nothing much has changed…
Posted by: Disappointed | June 7, 2008, 11:05 pm 11:05 pm
Here are some reasons why Obama is not only a jerk but a stabber.
1. He started off but putting down the Clinton presidency and equating it with the Bush presidency. Making statements like Bin-Ladin was out there because of Clinton. Amazing he put down his own colleague and party member — Hillary should have gone after him big time then.
2. He took his name off the Michigan ballot to get an advantage in Iowa and shamelessley went after Michigan votes.
3. Shamelessly stole talking points and pretended to be highly ethical when he had tons of dark issues going on — from buying his Chicago home underhandedly to his racist associations with Wright.
4. Shamelessly put his grandma under the bus just so he could defend Wright.
5. Cried race, race and encouraged his surrogates to go after Clinton when they have done so much for the African Amerian community!
None of these qualities are presidential and I will support McCain in the Fall. I understand Hillary’s reasons for showing support for Obama but I will not support Obama and be responsible for the tragedy that will befall America if he becomes POTUS.

How can anyone think that voting Republican is supporting Hillary Clinton? If you truly support her, show some respect for her and what she stands for. This is harder for her than for us.If she can do it, so can we. We cannot afford another 4 years of Republican policies.
Remember the Supreme Court. Voting Republican is a vote for a more conservative Supreme Court. And then it is all over- civil rights, women;s rights, gay rights, .. any rights….
Republicans know how to band together, that is why they won more in the last 40 years. Voting against Obama does not make you a racist, ..it makes you a Republican,. and this is just what they want. You are making Bush, Cheney, Rove and FOX news very very happy. Is that what you want??

I would think the object is to put a democrat in the WH, but why select the candidate that will split the party and make it harder to attain such?
Its not like the DNC did not know this was going to happen, what where they thinking that people were just going to talk and not follow through?
During the primaries I was hearing if Hillary get the nod they will lose the black vote, the young vote and all the new people that came to the party because of Obama.
Now am hearing they need Hillary to get her people in order to beat McCain, Hillary has to endorse him, Hillary has to campaign for him, Hillary has to go to her people and tell them to support him, did they not think of all this before now?
People were telling them Obama would the be hardest candidate to push but they went with that anyway, at that time he was the best thing since slice bread, now it seems Hillary is needed more than ever to help Obama beat McCain.
So exactly who was the better candidate in the first place?

She absolutly right. No one is asking who Barack is. But here is some insight into who he associates with. Remember his shady house deal? Rezko, who was bankrupt at the time, had his wife purchase the lot next door even though she didn’t have the income to support such a transaction. So where did the money come from and why on earth would Barack purchase something he couldn’t afford? Why would we want him as the steward of our economy? And who does he associate with. Here’s a clue….
Several US political fundraisers are currently on trial for corruption in connection with loans received from Auchi. Auchi is currently barred from entering the US.
Nadhmi Auchi was viewed with a lot of suspicion by the Iraqi opposition to Saddam Hussein’s regime, regarding him as a front-man for Saddam’s intelligence service.[4] Auchi was involved in several multi-billion dollar business deals in the post-Saddam era too, such as the Orascom mobile phone network (IraqNa), and at least one power generation contract involving Chicago-based tycoon Antoin Rezko and Iraq’s former Minister of Electricity, Aiham Alsamarrae, who has been convicted over corruption charges in Iraq and is now living in Chicago.
There’s your change you can believe in…..Wright.

Just two enocounters highlight this man. The senate snub of HRC post NH and “I like you enough Hillary”. NOBama for ever. He will never be my president.

People,
There is an eruption of articles analyzing Hillary’s loss. To a person the analysts leave out the sole reason for the results. REASON NUMBER ONE: the press DID NOT VET OBAMA!
—————————-
ACTUALLY:
REASON NUMBER ONE: Obama won more states, got more votes, earned more pledged delegates, and more super delegates saw him as the best candidate…but go ahead and pick whatever reason makes you feel better.

The best candidate won, by ALL counts, the democratic primary.
More states, more votes, more pledged delegates, more super delegtes = NOMINEE. It’s not that hard to grasp.
Now Obama will beat McCain in the general election.
McCain graduated in the BOTTOM 1% of his class. Americans do not need another moron GOP “yes man” in office.
McSame admits he does not understand economics. Just what we need now?
And his “experience” in foreign affairs? Let McSame’s own words tell you about the Iraq war:
“There’s not a history of clashes that are violent between Sunnis and Shiahs. So I think they can probably get along.” [MSNBC, 4/23/03]
“It’s clear that the end is very much in sight.” [ABC, 4/9/03]
“We’re not going to get into house-to-house fighting in Baghdad.”[CNN, 9/29/02]
“But I believe, Katie, that the Iraqi people will greet us as liberators.” [NBC, 3/20/03
"But the point is that, one, we will win this conflict. We will win it easily." [MSNBC, 1/22/03]
BEING OLD IS NOT THE SAME AS BEING WISE.

Again, Obama supporters claim racism if you do not vote for him but they call McCain old and criticize his abilties because of his age which is ageism.
Obama supporters will say and do anything to brainwash you. Hillary is the Old Bill. MCCain is the new Bush. These are all Obama tactics.
This man stinks on ice. I am black and I still think he stinks. He will not choose her for VP because he is a megalomaniac and most likely fears her being stronger than he, which is true. I am sure she will do most of the work while he is running around speaking of change and doing photo ops.

Hillary is doing what a good Democrat does, despite her loss she is completely supporting the nominee for the party. I’m going to do the same.
Go Obama!

Yeah, let’s support barack and let it be know you can step all over women anytime in the democratic party and it won’t matter
I live in a swing state (NH) . I’ll be voting for McCain.
the democratic canidate can go shine shoes.
(did you find that comment as humorous as when Clinton was told to “go iron shirts?)

OBAMA made a statement at the AIPAC conference in Washington last Wednesday that he now has labeled the “Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization”. ANOTHER FLIP FLOP. Remember the debates where he stated that Clinton had overblown the Iranian nuke threat and he criticized her vote to brand Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization. He called it “saber-rattling”. The whole world heard both statements by this youngster.

Hillary has done an amazing feat over the past year and a half; and deserves our praise for it. She’s broken many barriers, removed many obstacles and blazed a forward looking vision for America.
Hillary has supported Obama, because Obama’s vision is nearly identical to hers. While she may be the stronger candidate, Hillary and Barack are pulling in the same direction. With both of them working together, amazing things can be accomplished.
John McCain has a different vision for America. His vision is to reconstruct the barriers that Hillary has fought so hard to overcome; to return to the ‘business as usual’ approach of the Bush Administration. If McCain succeeds, Hillary’s ideals will not happen.
In her speech, Hillary strongly endorsed Barack, not because he won, but because his struggle for the American People is much closer to her own. Let us honor Hillary by winning the White House back for the Democrats! Her challenge to us is to pick up the torch and continue the race – to remove the Republican empire from office. Help support that goal!
Defeat McCain and the Republican Machine in ’08. Together, we can!
Obama ’08.

Obama and his supporters tried to paint Ms. Clinton racist. True supporters of Ms. Clinton will recognize that Ms. Clinton will benefit only if Obama loses. Please vote for McCain.

I wonder how people who happens to watch a video that was made during the civil rights march and see themselves or their grand parents turning dogs aloose on black people, all of the hate that was in their faces just because.. how ashame they must feel when their friends called them and say I saw you on tv. This will also happen to the people who write in and say such terrible things because of hillary. This let you know the real people she attracted because of who she is. To God Be The glory.

Hillary has always been a centrist and knows how to reach across party lines. She does not need an Obama to get what she needs. The DNC rats have brought doom on the democratic party. I will vote McCain. He is Hillary’s friend and is closer to Hlllary’s policies that Obama can ever be. McCain will never surrender and bring an honorable end to the Iraq war. Obama will make a mess. He has no vision and all that he will do is pull the troops out and we will end up with a failed state.

Stupid comment. Who is the ‘Scoundrel’? Most believe thats a label belonging to the Republican party. So, why should we help by voting for McCain?
But then, you already knew that.

Hillary would have been a champion for our children and families. She has accomplished so much more already than what Obama can even dream of. All that he wants is a ride in Air Force One. He has no vision for America. Now unfortunately, because of the DNC rats, we have to be content with the second choice McCain. Sigh!

Chris Matthew asked if Hillary can help Obama to get her supporters voters for him.
He said asked Hillary to promote him with saying this guy is 99.9% bettter than McCain.
He is really bias, no shame at all. After all this time bashed Hillary so badly.
His other pundit said if Obama won KY and WV was like he won 50 states already.
They did not remember Hillary won landslide with those states and the msm did not even care to announce it.
Shame,,shame,,shame,,,

Jimmy Carter and some of his backers don’t want Hillary becomes his VP.
I hope Hillary would think twice before she accepts the offer if Obama offers her.
Anything bad happen to Obama the MSM, his backers would blame her especially if he lost.

I am changing parties – the democrats no longer represent my values. I am NOT voting for Obama. The DNC is very short-sighted – guess what happens when glass cracks?
