Obama and Clinton Together Again at June 26 Fundraiser

ABC News’ Eloise Harper and Sunlen Miller Report: Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will make a joint appearance June 26 at a fundraiser in Washington, DC. This will be the first time that Clinton has joined Obama on the campaign trail since she conceded to him the Democratic presidential nomination earlier this month.

The event will take place at the Mayflower Hotel.

Clinton fundraisers received an email from Jonathan Matz, Clinton’s National Finance Director, to join the Democratic senators for the event, to discuss how can Mrs. Clinton can help unify the party and help elect Obama to be the next president.

Hillary deserves to be a true leader for this country. She’s willing to do anything to get Obama elected even though Obama and his supporters treat her without respect. I admire her effort.

It is clear that Obama believes that if he can win in the purple states that he will not need Hillary’s help to win the states that he lost during the primaries. It seems to me that the Democrats are putting everything on the line and taking and unnecessary chance just to keep Obama’s ego in tact. But, his actions in picking this former Clinton employee shows that He is, plainly, afraid of a running mate who has her own independent power base. This is not strong leadership. What a weak beginning to his “new” era. Furthermore, Obama’s search for an alternative to Clinton on the ticket is a pitiful display of a desire to punish the person who could help him most. Nobody else comes close, unless what he wants is a silent rubber stamp incapable of assuming the presidency some day.

Obama picking Patti Solis Doyle to be chief of staff for the VP candidate is a flagrant slap to Hillary and her supporters…sure Clinton couldve done a better job to overwhelm Obama in the beginning but that doesnt make any and all of his actions right!

Posted by: dem38 | June 17, 2008, 7:40 pm 7:40 pm

My fellow Hillary supporters, I am so proud of you all for still firmly supporting Hillary even when she is in her down time. But I have to tell you all that please don’t think even a minute that Obama would pick her on the ticket, because Obama is much dirtier than you realize. Just look at who he has chosen to be the chief to his VP candidate? Solis Doyle, Hillary’s former campaign manager. This has already told you that Obama will not choose Hillary. I have a feeling that Solis Doyle might be a spy in Hillary’s campaign working for Obama and she intentionally ran the campaign poorly so that Obama could win. This explains why Obama would still choose her even though she ran a poor campaign.
Plus, so many of party insiders don’t like the ticket, including Jimmy Carter, Nancy Plosi, Ted Kennedy etc. They and Obama worked against Hillary and forced her out of the race. Now they are just trying to take everything they can away from Hillary. Why would they do Hillary such a favor to put her on the ticket?
I think all of us should stand strong against the corrupt democratic party and dirty Obama. This whole democratic fight has made us clear what kind of man Obama is and what kind of party this is.

I will only vote for Hillary in 2012 and the people meeting at the Mayflower are the big fat cats who refuse to give money to the convention and I hope they take a stand like millions of Hillary’s supporters have. MCcain is looking fine to me.BO is in big trouble no money and losing in MI and FL and PA and OHIO it is what they get.One book and Hillary’s debt will be gone .And since she is not going to be VP thank god she has plenty of time to pay it off.

Posted by: Bishop | June 17, 2008, 8:05 pm 8:05 pm

It’s sad that people who were once Clinton supporters now see her views on which candidate is the better choice (Obama or McCain) is irrelevant.
At what point did they turn the corner to support a candidate who is against universal healthcare, for the war in Iraq, made sexist jokes about Clinton’s own daughter, and supports the same economic policies which led us into the current downturn?
Sad to see that this small, vocal fringe group can’t see the forest for the trees.

The recent Obama move of hiring Doyle is outragous — there is reasonable suspect that this woman was mole in Clinton’s camp early on to sabotage her campain. read on:
***
Solis Doyle, seriously? Patti, who didn’t have enough respect for Hillary’s campaign to answer e-mails and phone messages, who was so unmotivated that she shut down the campaign for 2 days to watch ‘Grey’s Anatomy’? Now we know that she was an Obama mole all along. Because there is no other explanation.
***
Hillary lost because of Doyle’s incompetence back in January and early February. Her campaign rebounded after this woman left.
I am furious — I always felt there was something fishy about Obama’s win. Can someone do an investigative piece on this?

Posted by: amy | June 17, 2008, 8:28 pm 8:28 pm

All of you Hillary supporters like to remind everyone that Obama can not win without your help. I am here to remind you that if Obama loses and Hillary tries again in ’12, she will damn sure need our help to win. I for one, as is the case with many Obama supporters that I know, will not be there for her. We can vote for McCain the same as you can. ( PS. It will also be harder to beat an incumbent – just food for thought while you’re seething ).

Posted by: JD | June 17, 2008, 8:28 pm 8:28 pm

I am sure that Obama is intelligent enough to understand that during election campaign petulance is not sarcasm and that insolence is not invective. He should seriously consider Hillary as the running mate for several obvious reasons to be assured of entering the White House in 2009. God Bless America!

The thing I can see is how weak Obama is being made to look by all these bitter women nagging and nagging at him. Makes you wonder how they feel about men and how they treat their own men. Obama MUST not be seen to be a pushover for these people, someone to be nagged into giving in to their demands. I hope he stands up for himself, since the press is in on the plot too, to make him look weak, constantly making Hillary the strong one and the one with the goods. Constantly nagging him to put her on the ticket, etc. Jist the way you want a prez to look, huh weak and helpless in the face of pressure, whining and demands.
LOOK HE WON FAIR AND SQUARE.

Posted by: nanao | June 17, 2008, 8:36 pm 8:36 pm

Let us not confuse a hard-working, bright person with someone who is independent.
Hillary is not an independent woman. She was told by her advisers to run for president and then she spent the entire campaign having them tell her what to do. Not once, did she have her own mind. That is why she kept changing her slogan.
If Hillary was independent, she would lose her deadbeat husband who keeps ruining her life. He lost this election for her because she followed his every order, and he effed it up! Simple.
My advice to Hillary: Trust your own judgment, think for yourself, and lose Bill.

To have Obama disrespect those years and the contributions made by the President and Senator is just unforgiveable. His supporters painted the Clintons as racists which I found to be laughable. I simply am left in a huge predictament. I just can’t vote for Obama, who is just an empty suit who claims to be nothing other than a community organizer, and not voting on the presidential line or maybe McCain. LeeLee,
You can’t so naive that you think women are not saying they won’t vote for Obama because Hillary as a woman lost to a man. She was a good candidate. She ran a bad campaign. She had a failed strategy, and her supporters are the ones that are mad. The won’t vote for a Democratic candidate, who is a hairs split away from her on issues. Instead, they will vote for their opposite interests, just because the one guy left is the guy that beat her!!! Now, tell me how ridiculous is that? Hillary would have made a good President, but you have to win the nomination to get a chance to become President. Now, vote for whoever you want…and get whatever you get.

“Hillary is correct…Obama cannot win and she knows it! The only reason she will be there is because the DNC is forcing her to go. She does not want obama to win…guess what…he cannot win…the whites don’t want him, the blue collar, bible thumpers don’t want him, the conservatives don’t want him, the republicans don’t want him, and most of all the Hillary supporters don’t want him”
How in the world is the DNC forcing her appear at this rally? No one can force someone else do something – they have to be either afraid or dumb because they think someone can force them do something–

Posted by: jozy | June 17, 2008, 9:32 pm 9:32 pm

You had also better email Obama too and let him know that Hillary is really, really dead and can’t campaign for him on…
Oh, Snap! Maybe Obama can get a B-rated movie for his supporters to look at since Hillary will not be able to make the fundraiser, because you know, she is really, really dead…

All that, and she lost to a fresh, relatively unknown, other minority candidate. It is a time of change and not experience (which she really didn’t have in the first place). Where exactly is Hillary anyway? Nobody has seen her anywhere. How does one simply fall off the planet like that? Is she already in Martha’s Vineyard hobnobbing with the rich and famous, or is that not until the month of September? I thought she and Bill were supposed to be out there rallying support for the democratic nominee. Really quiet, don’t you think? I hope the Clintons weren’t just BS-ing us again. Actions speak louder than words. She’s supposed to be an active Senator representing NY as well. Somebody tell me how long we’re supposed to cut her a break. Why didn’t she go to Tim Russert’s funeral or show up for the Michigan Gore/Obama rally? I’m mystified. Why should he consider her for VP, when she’s behaving like this? Again, actions speak louder than words.

You can make $71,000 OR $250,000 in a few weeks
As seen on Oprah and ABC’s 20/20
If we all work together everyone will benefit
Paypal verifies that this $6 investment
program is 100% legal and is a big hit this year see their note below

This program remains successful because of the honesty and integrity
of the participants. Please continue its success by carefully adhering
to the instructions
STEP 1: Take a few minutes to join PayPal: Remember to verify your
account.
STEP 2:
1) Once you have a PayPal account, use PayPal to post $1 to
EACH of the 6 Email Addresses below because you pay people with an
email address in PayPal. Select “SEND MONEY”
What you are doing is creating a service. This is absolutely legal!
You are requesting a legitimate service and you are paying for it!
Here are the 6 individual Email addresses that you have to send $1 to
through PayPal for this to work properly and for you to receive
money.
2) Now Send $1.00 to each of the six people on the list using PayPal,
and in the comment (Subject) section type “Please add me to your

These groups of email addresses are PayPal IDs or usernames.
Choose any group and send 1 Dollar to:

more you post and email the more money you make! This is perfectly
legal!
But you have to post a minimum of 200!
- When you post 200 letters, it is estimated that at least 15 people
will respond and send you $1 ($15).
- Those 15 will post 200 letters each and 225 will send $1 ($225).
- Those 225 will post 200 letters each and 3,375 people will send you
$1 ($3,375).
- Those 3,375 people will post 200 letters each and 50,625 people will
send you $1 (50,625).
- Those 50,625 will post 200 letters each and 749,375 people will send
you $1 (749,375).
- At this point your name drops off the list, but so far, you have
received $813,615.00.
JUST MAKE SURE ALL THE ADDRESSES ARE CORRECT.
When your name is no longer on the list, you just take the latest
posting in the news groups, and send out another $6.00 to Email

It’s ironic if not tragic that Barack Obama has been a chronic cigarette smoker for decades. He still lights up, I suppose. Having a family history of cancer and early death, such as his mother’s, this is clear self-destruction. It’s now that the press is brining up the subject. Such negatives about Sen. Obama, were purposefully hidden by his campaign staff and many in the press during the primary contest with Sen. Clinton. Although, he is only 47 years old, Sen. Obama possibly has diseased lungs, lungs of much older, perhaps 80 year old man, posing a much greater health risk for him than Sen. McCain’s age factor. Considering his drug using history, Sen. Obama should take his health seriously. Besides, he is setting a horrible example for his own two young daughters, and millions of other in the country and the world. Do we want a president who’s a poster- boy for tobacco industry? How dare he proposes to reform health care crisis, while he himself being part of the problem?

The truth is we all have some doubt about Obama having Muslim connections. Reverend Wright may be Christian but they shared some of the same views as Muslims especially when it came to 911. If there is any doubt that Obama may be sympathetic to Muslims or have any connections to them, he must be kept out of the White House. Vote McCain

I’m a Clinton supporter who has no intention of voting Obama. Normally I would read through these blogs and respond to some of the attacks from the Obama supporters towards Clinton’s supporters but I am really appalled at some of the garbage the Clinton supporters are saying on here about Obama and his wife. I won’t vote Obama based on his record and experience. I have no issues around his being black, I know he’s not muslim, I don’t care about flag lapel pins and wasn’t all that bent out of shape about Wright.
I don’t vote party rather I vote the candidate and I have voted primarily Democrat throughout my life. I’m college educated and capable of making an intelligent decision around my choice for President and am far from uninformed on the issues or the candidates. I resent some of the nonsense Obama supporters throw out about Clinton supporters who opt not to support Obama but based on some of the blogs from supposed past Clinton supporters it’s hard to defend their nonsense and justifications at times for not voting Obama. Regardless though, people should vote for whom they feel is the best candidate based upon what is important to them so I could care less if someone votes Obama or McCain and I respect their choice they made. I think both sides need to get a grip though and quit with the personal attacks.

Obama, his advisors and supporters absolutely and irrationally despise the Clintons. There is no way at all that Obama will pick Hillary as VP. The choice of Solis-Doyle to be VP Chief of Staff is completely baffling unless you factor in how much he despises her. In Obama’s world, the Clinton years were as lousy for America as the Bush years. Clinton’s 65 % approval rating is equal to Bush’s 30 % approval rating, and a personal indiscretion is equsl to lying our nation into an endless war. The only failed presidents of my lifetime have been Jimmy Carter and George Bush.
Bill Clinton was a great president and will be remembered as such long after Obama’s “legacy” has passed into history.

Check out how Osama got into Chicago politics. He had to get rid of his competition. That is the only way he could win because when he got his competition out of the way he was the only one running for state office.. The truth speaks for itself.

Rodney,
I actual think Hillary is a good candidate. She just ran her campaign on a failing strategy. She sqaundered money, let Bill run amuck, attacked a fellow Democrat like a Republican(actually gave them footage that all they have to do is stamp “I’m John McCain, and I approve this message” on), and played with these lower educated, emotionally bankrupt, racially charged peoples heads. She knew she’s lose back in April. Instead, she kept stoking the fire, and now the maxi-pad army is screaming “NOBAMA, without Hillary I’ll vote for McCain”. I’m from Missouri, where we raise Democrats and corn. Vote for whoever you vote for, and get whatever you get!!!

A lot of Democrats who can’t bring themselves to vote for an inexperienced candidate are finding they’re more conservative than they realized. The Democratic party tries to hold women hostage with Roe V Wade, but the truth is, the Republicans have had 8 years to do something about it, and didn’t. Its

AGAINST obama and the DNC. We are organized, united and ready for November! Obama is NOT qualified to lead our country and we will NOT vote for him!
To the obama group – STOP saying that anyone who will not vote for obama is a racist – we are not – we are highly educated and know that obama is NOT qualified – the obama supporters seem to be voting race only – So….2nd choice – McCain.

Its incredible how the Obama camp works hard to get Hillary’s supporters but they do not want her on the ticket. He [Obama]wants Bill and Hillary and Chelsea to campaing for him but just his campaing leaders have diminished the Clinton’s since the primaries. Do they think that is the correct way to unify the party? Do they think that the 18 millions voters who supported Hillary are going to vote for him just because he says so? I’m so sorry but I am not for the party, I’m for the leader and I do not believe in his wonderful, magical words of change.

It’s great to hear that Senator Clinton and Senator Obama are working together like this. I’m glad to see they’re unifying to stop Bush’s buddy – McCain. It also sounds like a lot of Senator Clinton’s supporters are starting to see that McCain is NOT an ally to women. In contrast, Senator Obama has a much better record of supporting women. some comments I find interesting:
The November election is, and remains, Barack Obama’s to lose. Usually, candidates whose victories are entirely in their own hands make it through. It is clear Obama’s path to victory is through the teleprompter. Let him give a big speech and he drives it like Tiger Woods hitting a fairway, as he did Sunday with his stunning sermon about the importance of fathers. But let him sit for an interview with a well-prepared reporter who isn’t interested in shilling for him and Obama makes mistake after mistake. This is what happened the other day with ABC’s Jake Tapper, who got Obama to talk about how we need to treat terrorism as a law-enforcement matter — which is exactly what he should not be saying if he wants to solidify those less-liberal Democratic votes in the states where he was shellacked by Hillary Clinton — and how he opposes all forms of school choice — which works against his vague message that he is a vague agent of vague change.
I suspect this is why John McCain is so eager to get Obama into those town-hall meetings Obama seems intent on avoiding. McCain has been doing them for 25 years and is very good at them; it’s a mark of how good he is at them that he doesn’t make career-threatening gaffes during them. McCain wants Obama off that teleprompter, which is sound strategy. But he can’t make Obama go anywhere Obama doesn’t want to. The media pose a different challenge for Obama.

Posted by: amy | June 18, 2008, 1:09 am 1:09 am

I am still donating to help Hillary with her debt, and I have donated twice to McCain already. I will not support the DNC with my dollars or my vote in November no matter who Obama picks as his VP. The end does not justify the means, and I can’t think of one good reason to vote for the inexperienced, arrogant, race-baiting, lying Barack Obama. Party unity, you say? PUMA!

Posted by: Grammy Barb | June 18, 2008, 1:16 am 1:16 am

I think you are all afraid of Obama because he is a black man. Stop demonizing him and accept him for who he is…an intelligent, articulate leader. John Mccains inability to form a sentence and make sound judgement impairs his ability to become president. Admit it!

What they have against Obama?
Label Pin?
Rumors of being Muslim?
Radical left wing voting? (Check his actual voting before believing this radical right wing smears)
Elitist? (really?, someone who grew up on foodstamps and sold books to pay off his student loans vs. someone who was a son of Admiral and dumped the wife in wheelchair to take off with a billionaire heiress?)
Inexperienced? (What a mistake we did to let inexperienced Lincoln to become president, twice)
Unpatriotic black liberation radical (this is the most ridiculous of smears, even if you have no brains or analytical thinking ability, how would you justify of Ted Kennedy’s and other great politicians’ support and endorsements for Obama. Does the right wing brainwashed audience really believe our greatest politicians and public servants would rally around Obama if he was an unpatriotic black liberation Muslim terrorist embracer?)
Right wing is out of games to play against Obama and out of its own mind hoping any intelligent person would buy this insane rumors and smears. They have NOTHING OF SUBSTANCE against OBama
What do they have against McCain?
Favoring, promoting and advocating a war the reasons of which are more than questionable and the sheer existence of which has been hurting our country greatly.
Offering no change for economy that has been failing so poorly.
Offering no options for addressing the healthcare (his plan is identical to Bush’s). How do we think healthcare would improve if McCain continues the same policies?
Saying NO to GI bill that would help thousands of veterans who risked their lives for ours. Why No? So our veterans have to serve term after term to qualify for benefits.
Saying no to women rights and civil rights issues.
Having serious anger and attitude issues, not something you are looking for in a president at times when we need to be so careful and diplomatic in the international community.
Having ties, being financed by and protecting lobbyists and their interests (don’t take my word for it, research and check yourself).
Cutting taxes for the wealthiest and corporations (get educated in economics. He is touting this will help create jobs and help economy. If you don’t want to bother to check economics, just use your logic to see how the same tax cuts Bush executed “helped” the economy and unemployment).
My list can go on, but the point is THIS IS SUBSTANCE and this is SERIOUS. Label pins and rumors fade away in comparison. I am no Obamanican or Obamanat. I am independent of any party association or emotional bounding to any candidate. But McCain presidency will put our country in a serious internal disaster as well as serious foreign threat

The actual reason for this meeting is for the Democrats to figure out how Obama is going to raise funds to:
1. Pay off Hillary’s fantastic campaign debt, since she hasn’t been able to acquire at least one dollar from each of her supposed eighteen million supporters.
2. Make up the shortfall of funds necessary to present the Democratic National Convention since Obama has mandated that no funds from lobbyists shall be accepted for the DNC.
Maybe Obama should decline the meeting.
He’s going to win whether there’s a convention or not. As for Hillary, she can go stomping down the old campaign trail with her hat in hand to collect those almighty dollars while McBush cheers her on, and does flip flops on the side.

She has to back him whether she wants to or not. If she didn’t back him politically she would be dead in the water.
That doesn’t mean we have to. I am still undecided at this point as to who I am voting for. It may be nobody, because the best person for the job is no longer there and the other 2 haven’t shown me squat. In this case there is no lesser of two evils.

Hi Obama supporters,
Your candidate is not making any headway with Hillary’s donors and that’s why Hillary and Obama are making a joint appearance. Let us not kid ourselves. Hillary supporters do not like Obama and Obama folks do not care for Hillary. The only way Obama will have support (money and votes) from Hillary’s side is to have Hillary on the ticket. Otherwise, I will stay at home even if it means John McCain wins the election.

Posted by: Kris | June 18, 2008, 7:12 am 7:12 am

Obama will be seen as a weakling if he bows to the pressure to give Hillary the VP slot. Clinton brings NOTHING to the ticket; no foreign policy or military experience (we won’t go into her exaggerated fantasies of sniper bullets right now). Obama DOES NOT OWE her the position; she did not earn it, nor is she entitled to it. Why can’t you Clinton supporters get that through your thick skulls – HILLARY CLINTON LOST THE RACE. GAME OVER!! Obama can’t make her VP, she is “old school,” the old way of doing politics and does not represent the change that has been the base of Obama’s campaign. If Obama falls to the pressure and offers Hillary the pathological liar, the VP slot, I will be unable to cast my ballot for Obama.
NO CLINTON ON THE OBAMA TICKET! OBAMA DOES NOT OWE HER.

Are there democrats out there that really do not see what their (my former)party has done this election cycle? BruhMan: The vote of the masses does not necessarily prove intelligence. Look who voted for G.W. They voted for the winner, but I would’nt be too proud of it. Sometimes the real visionary is the one who stands away from the crowd.

Posted by: roberincharlotte | June 18, 2008, 9:59 am 9:59 am

Rober,
Of the nominees (in both parties), who was that visionary? Obama!!! Throughout, every single candidate, by the end, claimed to be about changing Washington. By September, you watch and see, McCain will change his mind about Iraq. Just recently, he changed his mind about Global Warming. Yesterday, he changed his mind about off-shore oil drilling(I agree with him over Obama on that). Two weeks ago, he had a TERRIBLE speech about CHANGE. I’m from Missouri, where we raise Democrats and corn, and that flip-flopper hasn’t SHOWN me anything.

Theres more to being a visionary than a nice suit and an elegant speech. Actions speak louder than words and Hillarys actions speak of someone who is dedicated to the middle class and helping those who need a boost. Not to mention the depth of her knowledge in foreign affairs and domestic policy far outweighs Obama. I have said that I will vote for him, but I dont have to like him. That sounds hypocritical, but I beleive he is the lesser of 2 evils. I can still hope that Obama will put Clinton on his ticket to give him some substance ( unlikely, but I can still hope ).

Neil,
McCain – national security? Based on what? He had a pampered military career based on his father, and grand-fathres rank. Those days are over, that’s why his own son is a Corporal in the Marines. Daddy hook-ups don’t fly anymore. Foreign policy? Name one foreign policy agenda he’s proposed on his own? It’s the same old, “Protect Isreal (which we must), bomb the Muslims, talk to no one except Great Britain, Japan, and Germany.”

By hiring Clinton’s former manager Pati Solis Doyle, Obama has clearly and loudly said that Hillary will not be his VP pick. They have clearly and loudly said they don’t want her and they don’t need her supporters. Same tune the DNC has been singing the whole campaign.

I wish Hillary would not appear anyplace with Obama, nor help him with fundraising. Hearing all the boos from Obama’s supporters in Detroit when Gov. Grandholm mentioned Hillary’s name made me sick. I refuse to be a part of his campaign in any way and I refuse to support the DNC after the way they threw aside the best candidate to come down the pike in many years. Hillary supporters, please go to Hillaryclinton.com and contribute to help her retire her campaign debt so that she doesn’t have to take anything from BO. And that includes the VP slot! McCain Democrat,
You may have a point. The party is certainly planning on moving ahead with or without Clinton supporters. This country is bigger that the Clintons, I’m sorry to inform you. This Party is bigger than the Clintons. The issues are bigger than the Clintos. But, you are just stuck on the name Clinton and can’t see that. Vote for whoever you wanna vote for, get whatever you get. I’m from Missouri, where we raise Democrats and corn!!!

Posted by: BruhMan | June 18, 2008, 10:41 am 10:41 am

dkihnley,
It is obvious you have novice political experience. Hillary cannot run as an Independent. She lost her Party’s Primary, therefore…she is done. No write in, no Independent, nothing. There will be no Hillary rising, there will be no fight on the Convention floor. She lost and, and is now supporting her Party’s winner. You can or cannot do that. But, clinging to some fantasy, is exactly why she lost. She, not her supporters know the rules…

Posted by: BruhMan | June 18, 2008, 10:48 am 10:48 am

The Democrats wanted a person with little or no experience. Someone who came out of no where, created by the Chicago “political machine”.
My guess, there will be a big old skelleton in his “closet” and once again the Dem’s will regret their foolish choice of denagrating Hillary…

No one ever misspeaks Clintons name as they often call obama..OSAMA!
It sure is embarrassing, wait till they call him president OSAMA, and some will make that mistake every day! But not if we never ever vote for that empty suit, loser, phony, inept stammering, stuttering embarrassment!

Emotions, race, politics, and religion don’t mix. You obviosly have all of yours in a wad together. He did nothing of the sort, throwing anyone “under the bus”…(ie. Michigan, Florida, white omther-grand mother, church, asians, mexicans…what have you). He speaks to bring everyone together…young, old, black, white, asian, native american, hispanic, pacific islander, christian, jew, muslim, budhist, rich, poor, in between, EVERYONE!!! Where as Clinton played on the “Working, white working, hard working white” voter. Now, alot, not all are emotionally bankrupt and have nowhere to turn. But, vote for McCain, and get what you get.

Did I ever say or imply that I’m afraid of Obama because of his name or character? My point is, OBAMA IS NOT FIT or QUALIFIED AS PRESIDENT. This is a lot scarier than his name. Everyone knows that. Did you know Bill Clinton pardoned three such members? How about Rezko? He gave Clinton and Obama campaign denations. They are all connected. That’s politics. Policies the same as Clinton, just very minor differences. I’m from Missouri, where we raise Democrats and corn!!! Vote for whoever you wants, and get whatever you get!!!

You are entitled to your opinion. I disagree and have a right to. G.W. Bush, owned a baseball team, and was a governor with no foreign policy experience. Clinton was a governor of the 50th rated state with no foreign policy experience. Reagan was an actor, governor with no foreign policy experience. What exact experience MUST Obama achieve? The all allusive military general, mayor, governor, senator, vice-president experience. Point is, no one has experience until they do it.

Senator Obama was an Illinois State for eight years, has been a US Senator for four years. And rightfully so, using the Senate as a stepping stone to becoming President. What’s wrong with that? He’s gaining the “experience” right?

neil,
Would that satisfy your high government office work? You all act like Senator Obama walked in from a job at Circuit City and decide to run for President last week. That “experience” BS is nonsense. Let me see, McCain was in the Navy and a life long Senator. Hillary was the WIFE of a governor, and first lady, and Senator. I don’t see a huge leap in experience there.

Posted by: BruhMan | June 18, 2008, 2:08 pm 2:08 pm

Bruhman, the following is their experience levels:
Regan was governor of CA for over 8 yrs…maybe 14 not sure.
Bush was governor of TX for 7 yrs
Clinton was governor of Arkansas for 12 years total (not consecutive)
Your right about the foreigh policy experience with the above mentioned unless someone else knows something that I don’t know but they ALL have experience running a state government. Obama has no experience running a government agency of any sort. Condelessa Rice has a better experience record than him. I like her, she is VP material for sure, McCain should ask her.

Obama,
Whatever promises and pledges you make about salvaging the economy, they will fall on deaf ears. Don”t you know why Senator Clinton earned 18 MILLION votes? Then I”ll be happy to fill you in. The economy was never so GREAT as when William Jefferson Clinton was in power.
When he was harrassed and stalked by that Stupid Bimbo, Monique what”s her face, Bill soldierded on, and the economy did not falter. That is what I call showing courage in the face of adversity. I was among millions of people, who wanted this POINTLESS WITCH HUNT of President Clinton to cease, and indeed, the American People did not suffer any ill effect from this senseless onslaught of Clinton, who continued fighting hard to keep the economy STRONG AND RESILLIENT.
Obama, look at yourself in the mirror. You possess neither the FLAIR, PANACHE, NOR THE WISDOM That Bill Clinton had, and you will ot be able to salvage the decrepid state of the American economy.
What this economy desperately needed was another CLINTON to salvage it. Now it will fall into the hands of Senator McCain, who is far more capable and qualified to salvage it than you are.
Obama……dream on, and on and…….

“Elizabeth Hasselbeck says Obama isn’t brilliant”.
NO WONDER!!!!! Look at him on debates with Hillary. He’s too dumb subjective. He is unable to talk in-depth about any of his so-called policies that he actualy stole from Hillary’s briliant ideas as proven at the 4 debates he had with her.
Ben Stein was on Jimmy Kimmel last year promoting his new book. Stein knows how to make a dollar or several million. Kimmel asked Stein if Obama should read his book. Stein said no, he should start with something more suited to his education level on the economy like simple addition and subtraction.
Obama took private lessons in economy just last year but apparently without great success according to his teacher:. He said Obama was slow on the uptake.
I now question Obama’s credibility of being a Magna Cum Laude from Harvard… HOW IN FACT DID HE EARN IT?… he can hardly debate sensibly on the spot without a prepared speech written by a paid speechwriter… he’s typically slow at impromptu speaking and most of the time he stutters and at the loss for words and he hardly uses or knows the right terminology like the difference between denounce and reject … evaded crunch-time debates with Hillary and now evading McCain’s a number of requested debates… evading public view of McCain-Obama debate by Obama himself selecting only one debate on the date that falls on a holiday which is July 4th when everyone is out vacationing… things like these do not make up an intellectual that has achieved higher if not the highest honor in the academe… not to mention the fact that as an adult he still practiced classroom-type of cheating like he plagiarized his speeches, bribed DNC delegates/superdelegates to seal his nomination, lied to the highest degrees… plus the fact that he as well as his wife had more black professors than whiteys and so on and so forth…And Besides, Obama & his wife were afforded the luxury of 230 points added to their SATs in order for an african-american to get into an Ivy League school. It pretty much points out that they must be too dumb that they need to be given the extra 230 points before they can even take the SAT!!
With Obama’s nomination, who is totally inexpert, amateurish, inadequate and unqualified for the job as President, Democrats have sealed their ultimate defeat. With Hillary’s nomination they may have perhaps had a little chance of winning the GE: they gambled it away. From now on they are doomed.

Bruhman and Neil, this election should not be a black vs. white issue although we all know it is for most people. When voting for a candidate it is difficult to identify who will be honest and who will not be honest. Will they keep their campaign promises? Should try to evaluate their past voting records and experience levels? I personally despise partial birth abortion. This is a “single issue” but I dislike this issue. It sickens me and personally and I feel that every Congressman who votes for this procedure should have to view it! But they won’t. Someone once told me that “God will not bless a Country that kills its unborn”. What I am trying to say is that I can’t focus on this one issue because it will cloud my viewpoint on what all the issues are. Whether Obama wins or loses is irrelevant, eventually there will be a Black President however I would rather see a qualified person to be the first Black President, same applies for a female or Italian that’s me!

neil is trying to get some racial back and forth. I guess that has worked before, and he got some satisfaction from it. I’m grown, and can debate with anyone, anywhere, anytime with stooping to an ants belly level. I just stated I am unashamedly supporting Senator Obama, and someone pointing out because I’m black I do this is not an insult to me. It’s part of it, and I do not apologize. I’m from Missouri, where we raise Democrats and corn, and I would have voted for Hillary had she won. The go back to Africa, black moron stuff shows his intelligence…not mine. But, you are right, issues will decide, but race will undoubtedly be a factor. i was not 100% convinced with Senator Obama from the beginning, but I gave him a chance, studied his stance along with others…for myself without Fox, CNN, MSNBC, ABC…and now I support him 100%.

Bruhman, Come on… he has the experience. McCain has 18 years as a Senator not to mention his military career. Read below!
“McCain graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1958 and became a naval aviator, flying attack aircraft from carriers. During the Vietnam War, he nearly lost his life in the 1967 USS Forrestal fire. Later that year while on a bombing mission over North Vietnam, he was shot down, badly injured, and captured as a prisoner of war by the North Vietnamese. He spent five and a half years as a prisoner of war, experiencing episodes of torture; his war wounds would leave him with some lifelong physical disabilities.
McCain retired from the Navy in 1981 and was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Arizona in 1982. After serving two terms, he was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1986, winning re-election in 1992, 1998, and 2004. While generally adhering to conservative principles, McCain established a reputation as a political maverick for disagreeing with his party on several key issues”

During the election the Empty Suit has his people tell Canadians not to worry about Nafta Opposition, “just politics”. During the election he tells us he will get us out of Iraq in six months. During the election his people fight giving the delegates in Michigan and Florida a full vote. So he pulls out the win (sic) over Hillary and now suddenly the timetable to get out of Iraq is much longer (as it would be if anyone with half a brain thought about it) and now he promises to give the people in Michigan and Florida a full vote.
Does anyone really know what this guy stands for? Oh right, we need change.
He spends all those years in that church (listening to the hate) but the election gets tight and he bails. What will he do when he gets in a tight situation in the White House, bail?
Remember “the buck stops here”?
We need a leader, not an Empty Suit.
Luckily for him he is running against Bush 3. We can’t afford another four years of Republicans.
Better yet maybe a twist at the convention will put Hillary into the nomination.

I guess you believe Rev. Wright greeted the church every Sunday with a big “Welcome congregation…GD Amerikkka, pass the collection plate, Amen…see you next week” That is ridiculous. Listen to the ENTIRE sermon and you will understand what he said instead of what FOX, CNN, and MSNBC played. Empty suit? Senator Obama was a state Senator, and a US Senator longer than Hillary’s years as a Senator. Prior to her home NY, I mean Scranton PA, I mean Arkansas, I mean Hyde Park Ill., I mean DC…she held no job AT ALL!!!

BruhMan, I’m beginning to sense that you are seriously well misinformed. There’s no such thing as US senator. Obama has just been Illinois Senator since 2004. Hillary has worked as NY Senator since 2000. What makes you think he has served longer as a Senator than Hillary?
You just say things irresponsibly in every which way just to justify his qualification.

That was for all the “experience” aguements. Senator Obama was in Illinois States’ Senate for eight years. Therefore, giving him more elected office “experience” that Hillary. Read more than what is in front of your eyes.

Lets go before her Senate terms. Eight years in the White House as First Lady, heavy involvement with Bill’s Administration in Health Care in public as well as countless behind the scenes activities. Are you saying that being a First lady is not a job? Remember the term “two for one”, that Bill used so often.

Name one thing she accomplished as First Lady…go ahead…I’ll wait. Healthcare…failed…that’s it, not a GD thing else!!! She had no security clearance, Co-President is not an elected office. BILL CLINTON MAY HAVE HAD AN AFFAIR WITH MONICA LEWINSKY BUT HE NEVER HAD ANY HOMOSEXUAL RELATIONSHIP LIKE OBAMA DID WITH LARRY SINCLAIR AND DONALD YOUNG. OBAMA’S NAME WAS EVEN LINKED TO DONALD YOUNG’S MYSTERIOUS DEATH BUT MEDIA GAVE HIM A FREE PASS. JFK IS EVEN WORSE THAN BILL CLINTON BECAUSE HE HAD A NUMBER OF WOMEN ASIDE FROM MARILYIN MONROE AND ANOTHER WOMAN (televised in showtime 2003 as BEAUTY AND POWER)THAT HE SHELTERED UNTIL HIS DEATH. YEAH RIGHT, OBAMA IS LIKE JFK AS IF JFK IS THAT CLEAN.

Posted by: reaganfan | June 18, 2008, 3:34 pm 3:34 pm

Bruhman ok, this is irritating to me please explain why?
The Senate historian lists Obama as the fifth African American Senator in U.S. history, and the third to have been popularly elected.[49] He is the only Senate member of the Congressional Black Caucus
The Congressional Black Caucus is an organization representing the African American members of the Congress of the United States. Membership is exclusive to African Americans
Why the need to be separate….just like the Miss Black USA pageant. Blacks segregate themselves.

Two Muslim women were prohibited from sitting behind the podium at Barack Obama’s Monday rally in Detroit, apparently so their headscarves would not appear in photographs with him, according to a report Wednesday in the Politico.com.
So much for Obama’a “Unity” speech.
Like so many Hillary supporters, I will be staying home this year as the two choices available are unpalpable.

The Caucus does have dozens of honorary members who are white, Hispanic, and Jewish.
Study history and you’ll understand. What more do you need? The Caucus was founded in 1971 by a group of black members of the House of Representatives, including Shirley Chisholm of New York, Louis Stokes of Ohio and William L. Clay of Missouri. Black representatives had begun to enter the House in increasing numbers during the 1960s, and the formation of the Caucus reflected their desire for a formal organization. Originally a “Democratic Select Committee”, which was formed in January 1969,it was named the Congressional Black Caucus in February 1971 on the motion of Charles B. Rangel of New York.

Is there an all White Caucus that they are not allowed to join??? Why is there a Miss Black USA when we have a Miss USA pageant with representation from the black community? Why

Two Muslim women at Barack Obama’s rally in Detroit on Monday were barred from sitting behind the podium by campaign volunteers seeking to prevent the women’s headscarves from appearing in photographs or on television with the candidate.
The campaign has apologized to the women, both Obama supporters who said they felt betrayed by their treatment at the rally.

And so it begins – the consumate politician – Obama. This is change we can believe in? Oh, and that unity thing too? LOL!! This Hillary supporter will be sitting this election out. IMHO, ther are NO viable choices here.

Bruhman, my point is that in order for everyone to be viewed as equals there must be no separation in who belongs to various organizations. If there was an all White Miss USA would it be ok? I would say no, but what do you think?

Posted by: dkihnley | June 18, 2008, 4:02 pm 4:02 pm

dkihnley,
Obama has NOT thrown the black people, his church, and the pastors. White voters must understand the strategy that is being placed here. Black people, Obama’s church, and the pastors all understand that Obama needs the white voters to win. And, they are willing accept any things Obama needs to do win. If you listen to black talk radios, the black people are being told to be quiet and let Obama do what he needs to do. And, to keep their focus on the bigger prize which is the White House. So if Obama needs to throw the black, his church, and the pastors under the bus it is okay because they know he does not mean it. Obama needs to do it for now so the white people can feel okay to release their votes. We are being played. Watch you will not hear any more from his old pastor, the new crazy white pastor, or his black supporters nor will you see a drop in his black supporters for leaving his church. They will be awarded once Obama get into the White House with policies in favor of their needs.BHO (Bone Headed Obama) is a WIMP, chameleon, hypocrite and WOLF in Sheeps’ skin

I am not happy about how things have turned out, still no third party, no write-ins. We can’t waste our votes. Every non-vote is a vote for the Republicans. We need to support the Democrat. Can’t afford another four years of Bush. Even with a Democratic Congress, McCain will still do damage.
There are enough good people around to serve in a Democratic Administration to keep Obama from screwing up too much.

BruhMan
Some info for you on Hillary’s background. A lot of firsts and like Obama, trailblazing for those who follow.
A native of Illinois, Hillary Rodham first attracted national attention in 1969 for her remarks as the first student to deliver the commencement address at Wellesley College. She embarked on a career in law after graduating from Yale Law School in 1973. Following a stint as a Congressional legal counsel, she moved to Arkansas in 1974. She was later named the first female partner at Rose Law Firm in 1979, and was twice listed as one of the one hundred most influential lawyers in America. She was the First Lady of Arkansas from 1979 to 1981 and 1983 to 1992 and was active in a number of organizations concerned with child welfare, as well as sitting on the boards of Wal-Mart and several other corporations.
As First Lady of the United States, her major initiative, the Clinton health care plan, failed to gain approval from the U.S. Congress in 1994. In 1997 and 1999, Clinton played a role in advocating for the establishment of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, the Adoption and Safe Families Act, and the Foster Care Independence Act.
After moving to New York, Clinton was elected as senator for New York State in 2000. That election marked the first time an American First Lady had run for public office; Clinton is also the first female senator to represent New York. She was reelected by a wide margin in 2006. In the 2008 presidential nomination race, Clinton won more primaries and delegates than any other woman in U.S. history, but after a long campaign, Senator Barack Obama became the party’s presumptive nominee in June 2008 and Clinton endorsed him.
Put aside all the background stuff – bottom line she would have had a greater cross-section of people (that actually vote in November) come out for her. We would be competitive in more of the states that are up for grabs. It is all about electoral college results and her numbers were better. The media and the DNC insiders don’t want a Clinton and that is what it came down to.
Just remember, you won’t win without us.

The whole thing stinks. Will anyone even bother vetting osama. He has some pretty shady friends that he considers friends. We do not know anything about this guy or his wife who has also said some pretty stupid things, it sounds as though she is not to crazy about white people.

Hillary has just the right combination of strength and compassion, grace and grit, intelligence and appeal. No man or woman, before or after her, can hope to win the hearts and minds of such a broad and diverse coalition of Americans as she has. I have no doubt the DNC passed up on a once in a lifetime president. Now, it seems, Barack wants to derail her from the VP slot, too. If he were truly a unifier and man of hope as he claims, he would show more courage in working closely with his former rival. Is he afraid of her intelligence, her charisma, and her ability to garner as many votes as he has? His VP choice shall reveal a lot more about him. For many Clinton supporters who already doubt his strength and integrity, his VP decision is the last and final test of whether they will commit their vote to him. Some other Clinton supporters may fall in line with the party and just vote for him b/c the political climate seems to warrant no other choice. However, wouldn’t it be better for him, even if he became president, to have behind him a more passionate, concerted coalition of supporters?

Posted by: Everest | June 19, 2008, 3:14 am 3:14 am

It is just this simple. Hillary needs money to pay off her mismanaged campaign debt. Obama is a huge draw to bring in funds. She can better pay off/down her debt. Now, here is the question, Those of you who are HRC supporters, why don’t you help get her out of debt? HELP HER PAY HER BILLS! Afterall she is your diehard choice in the tune of ‘So Called’ 18 million people. C’mon each one of you should at least give a dollar. Now that should help solve the problem. Now, if that doesn’t work she will have to reach into her and Bill’s $109 million pocket and eventually pay it or they will continue to get those 3am collection calls. Go Away Hillary, your such a drama queen.

Most of us (Hillary Supporters) feel that Obama is not qualified to be President. Hillary waxed his butt during the debates, where she showed her in-depth knowledge and ability to run this country. Obama, on the other hand, stuttered and stumbled his way through, all the while saying, “I agree with Hillary.”
Hillary was the victim of a vicious smear campaign by Obama and the MSM. The DNC did not bother to defend her, not once. They allowed 4 delegates to be taken away from her and given to Obama, delegates she had rightfully won. Then, they urged the SDs to come out and endorse before the primaries were officially over and before the convention was held. SDs are supposed to endorse at the convention, not before. For the record, Obama is not yet the official nominee, he is the presumptive nominee. Those are just some of the things that happened. The list is long. Women as well as men supporters of Hillary watched all of this occurring and we are leaving the Democratic Party in droves because of it. I have changed my party affiliation to Independent, the first in my family to do so, but not the last.
I doubt if I will ever return to the Democratic Party…

And BTW why is HRC still in debt? Put your money where your mouth is. Pay up. C’mon you can find some $$$ somewhere in the folds of that couch or in that used to be grease can in the kitchen.

You are soooooooooo easy. You have to be,to be a HRC (certified) supporter.

Posted by: The Real Marie | June 19, 2008, 9:09 am 9:09 am

Neil, your right:) Obama will not be able to end the war as he promised, it is not going to be that easy. If he is elected he won’t be able to end the war in Iraq as he stated and he will have ever excuse on why he couldn’t. He basically just feeds people what they want to hear instead of being honest. Ending the war is not going to be overnight and definitely not easy for anyone who is elected.

NO, MARIE. I’M NOT EASY. I HAVE MONITORED THE ELECTION SINCE JANUARY AND I BARE WITNESS TO OBAMA’S QUESTIONABLE QAULIFICATIONS, CHARACTER AND ASSOCIATIONS. I ALSO BARE WITNESS TO HOW HILLARY WAS TREATED BY THE OBAMA CAMP, MEDIA AND DNC. I ALSO BARE WITNESS TO THE FACT THAT THE SO-CALLED EDUCATED PEOPLE WHO SUPPORTED AND STILL SUPPORTING HUSSEIN ARE EASY TO DISSUADE OUT OF NOTHING… GOD DAMN THE OBAMA SUPPORTERS….

IT’S JUST OK TO BE FOOLED ONCE…LEARN FROM IT…BUT IT’S JUST SILLY AND DUMB TO BE FOOLED TWICE OR MORE…NEVER LEARNED FROM IT…. THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN, OBAMA SUPPORTERS… FOOLED AND TRICKED BY OBAMA MORE THAN ONCE….

Would someone from the DNC or the media please continue to investigate Senator
Obama. Sentor Obama needs vetting. Senator Clinton was the only candidate ready to serve the post of President of the United States.
If you would think of this as a job interview:
Democrats should all run from Obama
His resume has no substance Referrals and past co workers consists of racist, Anti American pastors and criminals such as Rezko. His co worker was William Ayers, a domestic terrorist
Please for the sake of our country, read about this man.
His name alone speaks volumes:
Barack Hussein Obama
What do Americans expect to hear from Sen. Obama “Yes I think like Wright. I knew that Ayers was a terrorist. I have Muslims in my family.”
He’ll lie about everything and throw everyone under the bus, including his
church, his white grandmother, his Muslim followers.
*check out the Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. Farrakhan had 20,000 muslims meeting in Chicago a few months ago to support Obama
It’s scary.
Obama is a deceptive politician, ignoring voices of the voters, practicing unfair voting tactics. He is for Obama only.
Stop with the “he’s cool” ideas and think! Investigate. For the sake of our
country, this is serious.

People in my workplace is not taking Obama seriously…He’s a laughing stock in wallstreet…They are either McCain or Hillary….

Posted by: neil1785 | June 19, 2008, 1:19 pm 1:19 pm

He won’t put Hillary as his VP because he is scared that she would take his limelight. He would rather put her ex-manager there to make sure that Hillary won’t take the position even if offered. How pathetic on his part. I think I would respect him more if he was just honest.. yet she gave such a beautiful consession speech.. good for her she did what a good Democratic would do. She stood by her party even though her party did not stand by her. If Hillary is not on the ticket.. McCain gains many votes.

There is no way I am voting for Obama. Who cares about party unity. The Democratic Party was a traitor to Hillary,so why would I even care to unite them? From the very start, they were so biased in favor of Obama, the dubious neophyte. It shames me to be called a Democrat. There are so many hypocrites in the party and they are no different from Republicans. At any rate, I would give my vote to McCain than Obama. This man has way too many questionable friends and views. His gullible oaf supporters are so blinded by his pretext for change. What a pity, what a shame, that they can’t see the light. They must be in lala-land.

NO Hillary on the ticket. Obama will never get my vote, no matter what.

Obama and Clinton will land up on the same ticket.

I chose Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton, because, he is Barack Obama, and not Barack O’Clinton. There are similar and competing ideologies; but to meld the Obama camp and the Hillary camp into a competitive party to take to Denver, therein lies the rub. It cannot be done. Politics makes strange bedfellows, but some things do not mix. Hillary Clinton is well on her way to becoming a billionaire. She can drop $22.5-million and still have money to burn. Does Hillary Clinton worry about the price of gasoline? Is she concerned about the cost of groceries? Does Hillary lose sleep over retirement? Where are all the people who say hooking up with the Clintons was such a good idea? I know what you’re thinking. Did Hillary go down 22.5-million or only 20-million? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as Hillary Clinton is the most powerful politician in the world, and would eat your gizzard in a heartbeat, you’ve got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya: http://theseedsof9-11.com
