Obama is From Mars, Hillary From Venus

So you think Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are having some communication issues, maybe?

At 11:06 pm ET Obama called Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin and left Clinton a phone message, reports ABC News’ Sunlen Miller.

Obama congratulated Clinton on her South Dakota win and asked that she call him back.

Later Clinton called him back, reports ABC News’ Eloise Harper. They spoke very briefly and the the call dropped out. Clinton called him back and got his voice mail.

- jpt

UPDATE: Obama left a second phone message for Clinton at 12:08 am.

UPDATE 2: At 12:18 am ET, Clinton called Obama back and they spoke. Obama reiterated his desire "to sit down when it makes sense to you." The Obama campaign characterizes Clinton’s response as, "I’m sure that will happen."

I think the Obama from Mars, Hillary from Venus is a good way of putting it. There are two parallel universes at work right now. One reality awaits America if Obama becomes president, and another awaits America if Hillary becomes president. I felt that way in 2000 too with Gore and Bush: there were two parallel universes at work. For 8 years America got the Bush universe and boy has that sucked.

You are all crying over what is now spilled milk. Obama in now the democratic Party’s nominee. Deal withg it. There is no more hope. Clinton can take it to the convention if she wishes, but she knows that will be poitical suicide. For the first time, The Clinton Machine has been defeated. And this was done by a newbie.
Some of her supporters will vote for McCain no matter what Obama or their savior, Hillary Cliton says. Lets face it. Obama could have had more Senate experience, and a resume’ more impressive than Clinton’s and some of these people will still not vote for Obama. He will face this challenge like he did when he was 20 points behind in the national polls. Obama, like the Clintons does not back down from a fight. But, unlike the Clintons, he will fight this one with dignity and non-smearing tactics. Some may consider this trait to be a weakness, but I ask you, will he be the nominee tonight if he were truly weak?

AFTER NOT ACKNOWLEDGING OBAMA’S WIN OF THE PARTY’S NOMINATION HILLARY DOESN’T DESERVE TO BE OFFERED THE VP SLOT. I DON’T CARE HOW MANY VOTERS SHE HAS AND DOES NOT CONTROL. HER VOTERS ARE JUST LIKE HER AND WOULD NEVER VOTE FOR OBAMA HE JUST HAS TO REGISTER MORE NEW VOTERS AND TRY AND MAKE UP FOR THEM. I KNOW HE HAS TO REACH OUT TO THEM FIRST BUT I DOUBT IF THEY WILL EVER COME AROUND.THEY ARE SMALL MINDED JUST LIKE THE CLINTONS!!!

140 years ago, Members of the democratic party began passing a series of” Jim Crow” Laws in he southern US states which created divisions between Blacks and Whites giving them a “separate, but equal” status. How far we have come. Almost 143 years after the passing of the thirteenth amendment abolishing slavery and almost 45 years after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” Speech, Barack Obama has become the first African American to gain the nomination of a major US political party — The Democratic Party.
And he is an African American true to the definition. His father was a Black African native from Kenya, and his mother, a White American. He has become, to many people, the embodiment of what America truly represents at its core.
The question now is, “Can Obama seal the deal and win the Presidency?” The latest electoral polls show that he has his work definitely cut out for him. What will his chief rival for the nomination, Hillary Rodham Clinton do? My sense is that she will not concede unless she is sure that her political future is safe. She is probably going to want in on the ticket, or be given special ranks (Senate majority Leader) in the Senate. Or perhaps a guarantee to be part of Obama’s cabinet.
Does Obama’s nomination mean that America has finally overcome the demons that cloud Its origins? If he wins will tha be true? I will not be so conceted as to claim to have the answer to that question. But, if anything Obama’s success has proven that this Country, in 150 years has come farther than other countries have come over 1 millineum. There will alway be people that hold on to the prejudices of the past from all races. As those people grow further into a minority which each passing generation, they will never be completely extinct.
This is truly an historic night. Even if Obama loses the General Election, my 7 year old son will be able to tell his future children where he and their grandfather were on this night.
A word on Hillary Clinton:
Before this campaign, I had nothing but the utmost respect for the Clinton family. They were political legends and I cheered when she announced her candidacy. But as this campaign continued, my respect for her bagan to sour. Her true colors and her ambitous nature began to show. But, if anything, her devious political skills became ever so clear. Regardless of that, I still see her as an admirable woman. I believe that she cares about the underpriviliged and she will eat her own young to achieve her political goals. So, I still respect the Clintons as politicians. I believe that she she deserves a lot of credit for all that she has achieve.
But nake no mistake about it. This coming election will be about Young vs. Old, Experience vs. Change, and Old Politics vs. New Politics. This campaign will be one for the history books, that’s for sure.

Hillary WE NEED YOU!
today was one of the sad days i’ve ever seen. Media pushed the super delegates to ‘declare’ for obama. Not to VOTE. Not consider the VOTE of 18 Million Americans. Not to consider the strong coalition you put together. Not to consider the powerful electorate map that you have crafted. But to ‘declare’.
The pundits knew that this is a democratic process designed to end at the Convntion.
They knew that obama did not have sufficient pledged delegate to win. They knew that you weer going to deliver yet another big victory tonight.
Now, we ask you to deliver on your promise. If you truly believe that every vote counts. If you truly believe that every vote should be counted. If you are as true to those beliefs as you made us believe then, you MUST stand and fight this to the end that has been designed by the democratic process.
It is not over until everyone gets an opportunity to VOTE. it’s not over until you have an opportunity to make your case in front of the entire Convention!
We stand with you all the way – we got your back!

Eva ,
Did you see this today ?
Wes Clark floats Obama-Sebelius
Wes Clark stopped out in Texas yesterday to drop by a fundraiser Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius headlined for Michael Skelly, a Democrat running for congress in Texas.
Clark introduced Sebelius and, according to a regular correspondent and reliable source who was there, said:
“The London odds-makers say that Kathleen Sebelius is the odds-on favorite to be the next vice
president. I can tell you, she’d make a great vice presidential choice.”
He then introduced her as “The next vice president of the United States….”
Sebelius is typically considered for the slot only if Obama is the nominee.
A sign of the times from a Clinton loyalist.

Mars and Venus indeed.
Hillary’s trying to influence the calculation by making herself more important to the “reconciliation”, indeed making herself central to it. But, I don’t think she understands her opponent.
He’ll pick her if he calculates it’s better for him to do so than not. But, going into that calculation is going to be the notion that he’s seen as a rookie. And he’s a rookie who’s already volunteered that he’s willing to open negotiations with the bad guys. And McCain is going to be all over that. Last thing he wants to be working its way into the collective consciousness over the next five months is: The first rattle out of the box he got steamrollered by Hillary Clinton. Not a good way for him to start.
The more she makes it obvious that she’s stoking the “accept Hillary” movement, the more resistance the “accept Hillary” movement is going to meet from none other than Barack Obama his own self. So, question is: Can she fire up the movement high enough to overcome the resistance she’s simultaneously firing up to the movement.
She thinks the answer to that is “yes”. She thinks he’s weak and her people’s passion is strong. I think she’s wrong; she doesn’t understand him; she’s interpreting the signs wrong.

Fatal Election (movie summary coming out Summer 2010):
Dan (Will Smith) is a family man whose year long politcal relationship with Alex (Glenn Close) turns into a nightmare when she insists on continuing the campaign, claiming to be carrying his dreams of election in her heart. Alex systematically terrorizes Dan, even temporarily kidnapping his daughter, in her attempts to win a place on his ticket. Douglas’ besieged family man guiltily tries to preserve his campaign and family from the consequences of his gall to run against her. Close’s performance as the power hungry psycho-candidate becomes her signature role: She conveys the buried feminist message of the film in her challenge to Dan to take responsibility for his gender’s behavior past and present.

Of course it not being her would give Hill some motivation to do whatever it is she plans on doing.

Posted by: Richard | June 4, 2008, 1:09 am 1:09 am

I believe people are not being objective at all. it seems people get caught up in their emotions so much. That’s why the politicians take advantage of the voters. Yes, yes, yes, we allow the nonsense in politics! I am a strong supporter of Hillary, but the truth is, Obama’s strategy was just amazing! He understood the delegate process quite well. He focused on caucuses and targeted states that Clinto ignored. Good for him. Believe me, as much as I wanted to see Clinton win the nomination, she made some serious errors along the way. And it would be foolish for me to suggest that Obama stole the nomination. He claimed to be an organizer and he proved it. Sounds to be he can do wonders as a president too. Everybody though that Rudy Guliani and Hillary Clinton would represent their parties in the general election. Both made terrible decisions in their campaigns. That is not Obama’s or John McCain’s fault.
And it is foolish for the Democrats to suggest that they will vote for McCain because Hillary lost. Well, if you would like to continue with George Bush’s policy then be my guest. Feed your crazy emotions and then talk to me after four years when you loose your job, house or you cant afford anything because you have elected McCain who has no clue about the economy. The way I see it, Hillary and Obama have similar positions so I dont have any issues voting for Obama. But if you are having a hard time voting for Obama because he is black man, then you need to deal with your God to help you with your racism or sexism. And by the way, if you are a racist or a sexist. I can’t help there! I am not judging but simply stating the fact that you are on the wrong side (not God’s side by way. And oh, wrong side of History). And looking at the young generation that is now involved in the political process, it appears to me they dont have issues with racism or sexism. So it is going to be painful for you for a long time to watch these youngsters living life to the fullest while you are stuck with your racism or sexism! Good luck because hate is not a pretty thing to live with!

Just for the record:
Obama has won nothing! Denver is where the brass-ring resides.
At present, Obama, like McCain, is the “presumed’ nominee.
Neither party will have a “confirmed nominee” until after the first ballot of the respective conventions.
Many of the numbers being used are simply hypotheticals. Some states like Texas, for instance, have not even officially determined their delegate allotments, and will not do so until the coming Saturday.
Much could and may transpire over the next couple of months to alter expectations.
Still a long way from a done deal, especially for Obama!

Sebelius is typically considered for the slot only if Obama is the nominee.
A sign of the times from a Clinton loyalist.
I trust Sebelius to get us Health Care not just to promise it :
Sebelius is credited with bringing the agency out from under the influence of the insurance industry. She refused to take campaign contributions from insurers and blocked the proposed merger of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, the state’s largest health insurer, with an Indiana-based company. The decision by Sebelius marked the first time the corporation had been rebuffed in its acquisition attempts.]

Catleya check the general election polls. Obama does just as well as Hillary against McCain in the Electorate vote. He makes up for Florida with other places she can’t get like Iowa etc.

Posted by: J P | June 4, 2008, 1:25 am 1:25 am

This nomination process was so close for the Democrats. If you flipped the coin so that Hillary was the winner and Obama lost, we would be saying the same thing that she is going to loose because Obama’s supporters would not vote for her. The young people involved in the process for Obama would not go to the polls in November (they would be watching MTV!). Yes, the 18 million people who voted for Obama would be voting for McCain. So the way I see it, we Democrats need to rise up and unite and win in November! The sad thing is we are tearing each other apart and the Republicans are just having a good time about it! I refuse to be taken for a ride! Hillary is my girl but I can’t let my emotions get in a way that I vote for John McCain. That is simply foolish. I choose to be smart and objective!

Debra,
if what you say is true, if some of Obama’s voters would revote for Hillary, then why is he leading her in every national poll?
Your argument is as ridiculous as your candidate presently. I join Kate is asking, “What happened to Old Hillary?” What happened to the Hillary Clinton that I once adored and respected? What happened to the Hillary that put the interest of her people and party above herself? If she truy cared for her people and democratic principles, she would acknowledge that she has lost and do everything possible to unite the party behind Obama so the principles can not only prevail, but be carried out beginning January of 2008.

Here’s how I see it. Obama will meet with Hillary later this week. Clinton isn’t conceding defeat, while at the same time putting it out she wants the winner to put her on the ticket as VP? Translation? “Pressure Obama to give me the VP spot or I’ll take the campaign to the convention or the courts and cause untold harm to the Democratic Party.”
The Party should not accede to this blackmail, and Obama would be crazy to put her in the White House where she and Bill would seek to upstage and undermine the most promising presidency in a generation.
But who is going to fund the continuation of a futile and divisive campaign? Rush Limbaugh, Rove? Perhaps she could speak to Robert Mugabe. He has lots of experience with election campaigns.
It will be a cold day in hell before I vote for an Obama/Clinton ticket. I’d rather go back to the Republican Party.

But truth be told, I don’t require any money to speak what I believe. I don’ insult Clinton supporters generally. Just the spammers that spread smear attacks, false hoods, and other lies. You know what I am talking about. I respect that Clinton supporters like her. I like(d) Clinton. I understand why she is liked. But, its time to move on from this contest and focus on wha’s important. A true Hillary supporter knows that Hillary’s chief project of Universal Heath Care does not have a prayer with McCain in office. YOU HEAR THAT? NOT A PRAYER!!! True Hillary supporters KNOW that the troops will not be coming home unless a denocrat is elected. The posts here answer the question. If an otherwise Democratic voter hates Obama so much vs. Hillary that they will stay home or vote McCain, then putting her on the ticket makes no sense to either HRC or Obama supporters. Doing so would be a net detriment because 1) the repub base would be more fired up, 2) they would have at least double the 527 material to use in October, 3) there are more than a few anti- Clinton independents who would go McCain, 4) making Hillary VP may not be enough to placate some of her supporters in any event, and 5) who knows what Bill will do or say next.

But when Jeremiah Wright came out again making fun of Obama’s campaign, I realized that they don’t share same beliefs. Think about, if I had a friend who was running for office and I knew that my actions would cost him the election, I would simply lay low till he got elected. Only then would I come out and push OUR agenda. The way I see it now is that Jeremiah Wright wants to position himself as a prophet. He doesn’t want Obama to win so he can say that America is so racist and will never change! I think a lot of people figured it out that he is full of crap (He doesn’t come out in Jesus’ love and compassion). They didn’t buy it even though Fox news wants people to believe that Obama and Wright are tight. It would be a shame for Obama to believe all that nonsense when he was raised by a white mother and grandparents. It’s possible but highly unlikely that they share same beliefs.

It occurs to me that Obama has already made it public that he’s asked to meet with Hillary, face to face, at her convenience.
It was that he made the gesture public that got me to thinking…
She now has to request the meeting.  The offer’s out there; the time and place is hers to choose.  She has to make a choice and then she has to get in touch with him to ask for the meeting to actually take place.
I think he just boxed her in a little bit.  And he made it look like a gesture of respect.

Precisely Jackson!!! Wright actually hit Obama in his second major speech.
Unfortunately, FOX News especially Sean Hannity are not interested in facts.
Sean Hannity it appears, has been replaying the same show since the Wright issue emerged.

Lee, sooner rather than later he is going to move on and win without her.
If you think Hillary has suffered a political blow – just wait until he wins without her help…

The clock is ticking on the 11 million dollars loaned to Hillary by Hillary.
Storming the palace in Denver would make her loan a total loss. Campaign finance laws make the time of the convention the deadline to repay all loans to a campaign.
While Hillary plays the tell me what you want me to do card, or the I’m buying time and using my supporters as cover card, shes really trying to figure out how to get that money back.
I am amazed at those extra testicles that Carville said Hillary has. With the style of campaign shes run she now will ask her opponent, to pay off her loans, and put her on the ticket. Yes it takes mucho cojones to do that.

You guys wondering where the old Hillary is…the one you respected. Do you not know how smart this woman and her husband are and that they may know something we don’t, and can’t do or say anything about it? If she hangs in the wings it may be because she knows he isn’t electable against McCain. I really believe she feels she would be the best President and work her a-s-s
off for this country. She deserves everyone’s respect…most of us would buckle under one days worth of the attacks she has withstood for years.

Debra see the post below from Richard.
P.S. Hillary deserves to be respected for teaching politicans HOW NOT TO RUN A CAMPAIGN.

Good night everybody.
This was a historic day by any measure.
I’ll be back after Clinton’s next maniacal move…

Posted by: Tracey | June 4, 2008, 2:08 am 2:08 am

A Clinton to the end. She is going to go as an independent Democrat for the White House.
Obama has his supporters. Even if he has 0% loss, McCain would lose supporters to Hillary. This makes Hillary a viable threat to win.
If she concedes this opportunity is lost.
If she doesn’t concede she can lie low and run as an “independent democrat” after convention.
She will not concede so mark my words she is really thinking she can run as a third candidate. She will claim she is the most suited to be president. She has more votes than McCain or Obama will be her argument. Her electoral college argument will be her support.
It will be HRC Democratic Unity Party. Seig Heil! Seig Heil!
This must be in Revelations somewhere.

Richard
Hillary Clinton could care less about money.
She really has had a career that has been about helping people all across the county.
And it’s not over yet…She may not be President in 2008, but despite the negative press, the personal attacks, the calls to quit since before Texas and personal attacks from Obama’s church….this woman is NOT defeated…I love it!!!

Posted by: Jackie | June 4, 2008, 2:13 am 2:13 am

Kate! They were shutting her out since Iowa and treating her like crap. The media were salavating over the newbie Obama and his liberal billionaire supporters were bundling money into his campaign. She never had a chance…Obama knew his time had come, the country was ready for the first real black candidate…UNFORTUNATELY, WE REALLY DIDN’T KNOW HIM…STILL DON’T. But Wright, Ayers, Trinity, Angry Michelle HAD NOT HAPPENED BEFORE HIS 11 WINS IN FEB. WHICH CHANGED THIS GAME.

Debra, the reality is that Clinton started out as THE INEVITABLE NOMINEE with the BIG POLITICAL MACHINE.
Obama was always the under dog and it is to his credit that he is now the nominee.

To alleviate the concerns of all of those worried about Hillary and the VP thing.
True Clinton loyalists do not want her to go near the Obama campaign.
Thousands have told her so tonight!
Women have trained men for higher jobs for decades.
She doesn’t need it, absolutely no benefit in it for her, and we told her tonight that we would never vote for Obama even if she were on the ticket.
Also made it plain that we would support a suspension of campaign, or an independent run, what ever she chose.
But to never ask us to assist, campaign for, or vote for Obama. We will not follow her there if she so chooses.
This is not just about electing her, it is also about destroying the DNC leadership!
Making them 3 in a row losers, hoping they implode along with Obama.

Posted by: UnderTheBus | June 4, 2008, 2:22 am 2:22 am

Oh how the mighty fall.
Clinton never saw this one coming. Feb. 5 was all she budgeted for.
Best moment this evening: Obama saying he would continue to campaign WITH HUMILITY AND AN ACKNOWLDGEMENT OF HIS LIMITATIONS…
Humble people are the most realistic planners and strategists.

Posted by: Yolanda | June 4, 2008, 2:24 am 2:24 am

Obama has been a villian for how long now?
Hillary is fine, she has the right to wait until the convention.
Nothing no one can do until the super delegates cast their vote.
Besides Hillary is still the only on who can beat McCain.

Posted by: seah | June 4, 2008, 2:25 am 2:25 am

UnderTheBus has it right….I and many of my friends communicated the same…stay AWAY from the Obama VP thing….she could never wash the stink off. He needs to crash and burn on his own. Do you think Madonna, Jack Nicholson, Clint Eastwood and Rob Reiner (all big Hillary supporters) will jump to Obama now…or are they wishy washy dems like me WHO CONTRIBUTED TO McCAIN TONIGHT?

I went to her website and suggested the same thing: i.e. that she go independent. (Plus I offered a donation of $200 if she did). If thousands were to do the same thing, Hillary would stand a good chance of winning most of the swing states. The hidden bonus is that it would almost certainly deny him any chance of the White House.Tempting, isn’t it?

Obama is one lucky black guy…the timing was right, but not Wright…we are a “pc” country and should pat ourselves on the back for that, but this is not the OJ trial and no passes to the WH. Too friggin important. College kids will not determine the outcome of this election, but I’m glad times are changing and our kids are growing up with less racism…too bad Obama’s judgement is poor in his associations….should have had the foresight if he’s eyes were on the WH.

Posted by: Debra | June 4, 2008, 2:36 am 2:36 am

Clinton did two things: 1) She says he can avoid floor fight if he stops dissing her and offers something, perhaps VP, and 2) She released the superdelegates of hers not willing to go to the convention. She probably is not going there, but if she is, only because he fails in the first regard, and then it’s on him.

Kate…her numbers are down 14% and her primetime show tanked. Seriously, her Q # is way down. Not that it matters she has more money than God. I just don’t like her anymore. It’s her right to choose race over gender, but even she knew enough to leave Trinity/Wright and she wasn’t even running for office. Belonging to Trinity helped him win Senate, but will lose him the Presidency. Repubs will kill him with this.

Obama will be US President in the year of 2029 because he was twenty late to distant himself from Wright and the Church that hate US and Americans the most in the world.

I will risk a prediction:
NOT LESS THAN HALF OF CLINTON’S 17M votes will come round to Obama’s millions.
WITH HIGH VOTER TURN OUT (he started a voter registration campaign some time back), OBAMA WILL WIN THE NOVEMBER RACE.

Posted by: Melanie | June 4, 2008, 2:48 am 2:48 am

Obama is definitely making history!
Years from now, decades from now, some second place candidate will be asked why he persists and won’t drop out since he’s so far behind and can’t possibly accrue the needed delegates, and he’ll say:
“It was June when the Whitey Tape was leaked, so, you never know what’s going to happen. So I’m in for the long haul.”

She is in a very difficult position. If he loses in November, they will blame for anything, because she doesn’t support him for instance, if she is VP not all of her supporters like the idea, not all his supporters like the idea.
They just want her to go out there and be a good girl work for him so he can win.

Typical of Obama game-playing.
Pretend to be nice and talk with Hillary and then phone went dead on Obama’s end. When poor Hillary who is too straight to know the games called back, she could only get his voice mail.
Obama is skillful in putting up a totally different appearance than what he really is inside.
After he showed such respect and friendliness with Hillary in Calif debate, he scared the public by saying “the Republicans will dig up a load of dirt on her.”
That is the moment of epiphany for me to realize what kind of phony Obama is.

“If she were considered as vice president, her husband, former President Bill Clinton, might have to release all records of contributions to his foundation and presidential library and agree not to give paid speeches, according to a person close to the Obama campaign.
Major Impediment
That could prove a major impediment to her being selected. Bill Clinton, who has made some $52 million from giving speeches over the past seven years, has said he won’t disclose details on past contributions, only those going forward. “

America is “TIRED” it’s time for a new road to be paved and AMERICA in all its colors can see threw all of the negative politics…and if McCain’s not careful it will come back to bite him in the ass just like it did Hillary…

Obama as usual was classy, gracious, to both Hillary and McCain. What was so incredibly dispicable, was on the most historic night for African American people McCain was dismisve and claimed that Obama’s victory was due to “party bosses” even though by the end of TONIGHT when all the votes all counted even with all the “cheating” he still would have won more states, won THE POPULAR VOTE, AND YES THE DELEGATE COUNT. This was Obama’s night he played fair and square, and to not let him enjoy it was sicking. Btw I am an Irish American woman and I remember when Kennedy was elected. McCain, showed no respect for Obama and the historic nature of what happend tonight, HRC seemed to grin and bear it but couldn’t bring herself to accept the obvious. I am a woman and I just expected more from this “experienced” genereation. Seeing the young and the old in Obama’s crowd made me proud to be an American. McCain and HRC, should be ashamed of themselves.

CONGRATULATIONS to Barak Obama. Against all odds spouted by self appointed prejudiced opinionated political analysts so called emanating from the kitchen strategy mass production theorist factory of the old school politics, who punched and crunched inflated and suspected polls to “authenticate” their predictions of a win by anyone else other than Barak Obama.
The Obama 08 political machine went into overdrive and there you are , Obama raced across the finishing line whilst the broken down kitchen sink strategy truck was pushed and shoved by half committed supporters tired of a long long race that had already been decided along time ago.
Now there is talk about this and that and the VP spot. Let the dust settle first. The Obama camp can pick their own Vp. They earned their right to do so. They don’t need a losing party and self appointed disgruntled political analysts to dictate strategy to the Obama camp. Peace to all.Errol Smythe.

It was a woman who gave birth to Senator Obama, it was a woman who supported him to get into the Senate, and it’s a woman who is winning the popular vote NOW, so yes, she needs to offer Senator Obama a VP position; this way Senator Obama will have an opportunity to gain more experience. To act on your guilt now, may be too costly….
Both Senator Obama and Senator Clinton will be the Presidents, just in slightly different order. Allow American People the opportunity to get to know and observe the Obamas.
Remember that Superdelegates can and will change their positions by the end of August.

As a soldier who has been to both Iraq and Afgan in less than two years to fight for this country. I am so ashame of how you all are acting on this bored. It sadens me that my brothers and sisters are dieing over there to fight for this country. On that was built on the blood of this country. however each of you are still looking at it as she or he black and white men. When those same enemies we are fighting over seas dont give a damm if we are black or white, men or women. As long as they kill an American they have served their purpose. Barack is the only one that Saw through the shields of why we are really in Iraq and As far as McCain goes ask him when he comes to Iraq who knows. Not the soldiers fighting the fight. But the ones that they have the cameras setting up around that set the table for the real soldiers. Huuuhhhhh

The winds of change are blowing in America. When strong winds blow the great oak tree bends and sways in the wind but never breaks. It’s strong roots burrow deeper into the earth to find water and mineral sustenance and to find support in the safety of the earth’s rich soil of certainty.
Ancient landmarks should not be removed for the sake of change. Radical change brings chaos. Change can be good but change for the sake of change can ring warning bells in the silent corridors of the walls of power where kingsmakers sit in silence and observe the fallacy of immature agents of change who try to impress everyone only to find out that you cannot please everyone and still be popular.
Election 2008 is not a popularity contest. No. American’s know what they want. They will vote you in andf they can vote you out. The honeymoon lasts for a short season before the predator wolves circle for any sign of weakness.
Now is the time to mend the fences that need to be mended and to tear down the walls that need to be torn down. Now is the time to build bridges that need to be built and to remove barriers that need to be removed. Change that brings progress is good. Change that brings chaos and anarchy is bad.The Democratic party will unite around a common purpose, yes for the good of America. “….All the steam of hissing this and that on you tube will blow over. People got to let off steam. Let them scream, but not too loud. The neighbours might hear them. They might be Republicans and they might say “ What’s happening next door? I hear screaming. I hear ranting . I hear %$@! ….” I hope they can get their house in order before November! ….” Errol Smythe,

Hillary preferred Mccain to her democratic colleague, Obama. She campaigned heavily in favor of Mccain at the expense of Obama.
First thing you want from your VP is loyalty.
Obama would be dumb to pick her as VP.

Jake,
Some time ago I said I’d never post on this blog again. Never say never. :)
Yesterday I congratulated all the campaign supporters and staff of the Clinton campaign and asked them to reconsider voting for Senator Obama in the fall.
Well……the response was short, sweet, and rude. As a Senator Obama supporter I’ve tried to be respectful of other campaign supporters. It’s easy to blog nasty things on here when you’re not face to face with someone. And, a lot of folks have done just that. I’d hope that in person they are kinder and gentler to their fellow Democrats. I know I am. We really are all in this together.
I would certainly hope that by August of this year that some Clinton supporters would have had time to reconsider what 4 more years of the Bush administration would do to their jobs, pocketbooks and gas tanks.
Women supporters of Senator Clinton: just a reminder that Senator McCain would have the opportunity to appoint at least 2 and maybe 3 Supreme Court Justices during his 4-year term (if elected). Say goodbye to Roe-v-Wade! Once that feat has been accomplished, say goodbye to other female rights as well.
Thanks for the opportunity to sound off. For now, we still have the freedom of speech.

we need an old,old wise man for president..a man who loves war and all he talks about is Iraq,Iraq..He said the other day that he does not know much about the economy..this is the man that some people are considering voting for. He is old but says nothing about domestic policy..what about our economy? Vote McCain, feel the pain and don’t complain. Four more years of McBush..the silly votes for a continuation of the poor economy by voting for McBush. Vote Dems 08

Hillary ready on day one………….. to be the the last person in the world to know she lost!

Posted by: Kate | June 4, 2008, 6:49 am 6:49 am

If you love war and enjoy the fighting thats going on in Iraq vote for McBush. Because with McCain there will be a continuation of th war..we may even try to invade Iran and North Korea..while the country’s economy is going down the tubes..Anyone who believes that there is no connection between the war in Iraq and the faltering economy needs a head check..McCain is all about war..Iraq is all this man talks about..I am sick of it..Lets fix our economy so that people can get jobs, educate their children and buy affordable homes..Iraq, Iraq, Iraq! enough already. Obama/Hillary is going to fix this country and concentrate on what is important..domestic policy..domestic policy..domestic policy..The unthinking and war lovers votes for McCain. Lets vote Dems 08 and turn this country around. Obama/Hillary 08. Obama cannot win without Hillary..that is as true as the words in the scripture..No Hillary! No win..thats a fact..So if Obama is smart as he portends to be..he’ll ask Hillary to be the VP..OBAMA CANNOT WIN WITHOUT HILLARY! Word! Vote Dems 08!

NO second 9/11 in our country.
Sen McCain-08

The key to winning in Novemeber for the republicans, is if Bush pulls a surprise attack on the dems, and starts pulling out and shut down the war in Iraq. Then the issue is off the table for the fall campaign. That the single issue the dems have running against Mccain.

Obama will pick his own VP
McCain’s speech was lame imagine him as a president!

alex, what are you talking about?..911 happen under Bush..McCain and Bush is the same..the only difference is that McCain is older and I think likes war a little more than Bush..They both love war but McCain is worse..He cannot wait to invade Iran and North Korea. Heaven help us all. Vote Dems 08

Posted by: Earl | June 4, 2008, 7:30 am 7:30 am

Kucinich can still win this thing.

Posted by: jwm | June 4, 2008, 7:31 am 7:31 am

There is no way Hillary and Bill would accept “second place” and Obama would be nuts to pick her as VP. Who would want Bill second guessing every move. I just hope she stays with the Dems, if she don’t McCain will be the winner and we DO NOT need a 72 yr old same ole Bush policy president.

Posted by: mike | June 4, 2008, 7:35 am 7:35 am

Billy wants second place that gives her an in to the white house.Watch out Obama if they are there strange things happen to people who have anthing to do with the Clintons and BOOM she is sitting in the oval office Think twice .She last night put herself ahead of her voters again .You would think they would wise up ..This woman is dangerious and she will get what she wants come hell or high water..Be aware It is bad that she has to come to this She is a sad person …..Who lives for nothing but power

Earl,
How did it take terrorist to plan for 9/11 event? years or months not days.
9/11/01, it means G. Bush just got in the office few months. It proved that President Clinton was so weak to gainst
terrorist at that time.

I hope Obama is left alone to pick his own VP. Clinton wants to control this whole deal. The states she won were a”
closed primaries” which means onluy Dems can vote. Obama’s wins were all in “open” primareis were any registered voter could vote. This proves his can win in the GE without her.BTW, I was thoughly disgusted with her “attitude” speech last night.

Posted by: formerhillary | June 4, 2008, 8:34 am 8:34 am

Krissy…keep dreaming. Hillary sealed her fate with that speech last night. She doesn’t want to unite the party! She is more interested in her own personal agenda. Her whole speech last night was Me Me Me.

Posted by: formerhillary | June 4, 2008, 8:36 am 8:36 am

She was blunt in stating it was all about her.
No doubt with Hillary’s character she would make a fine president….NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
She would make a horrible VP.
AMERICA HAS SPOKEN ….. MOVE ON HILL … SEE YOU IN THE SENATE!!!!!!

Although I won’t vote for Obama I want to congratulate his supporters.
Especially African Americans–they deserve this historic breakthrough. They must be so proud.
I am proud of America–we have come so far. A woman and a black man with a real chance to be president-never thought I’d live to see that. I still hope it will be Hillary one day.

So you think Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are having some communication issues, maybe?
Hi,
Which is correct???
At 11:06 pm ET Obama called Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin and left Clinton a phone message, reports ABC News’ Sunlen Miller.
Obama congratulated Clinton on her South Dakota win and asked that she call him back.
Later Clinton called him back, reports ABC News’ Eloise Harper. They spoke very briefly and the the call dropped out. Clinton called him back and got his voice mail.
