Petty
I didn’t think much of it at the time but Sen. Clinton gave us a clue as to her intentions when her campaign folks blasted Tom Petty’s "Won’t Back Down" before her speech.

Len:
Regarding your “18 million reasons to celebrate”… here’s a little factoid from the DNC counts:
Votes without Caucus States:
Obama 17,389,253
Clinton 17,364,667
Votes with Caucus States:
Obama 17,745,430
Hillary 17,616,750
States Won:
Obama 34
Hillary 20
Enough of your irrational fuzzy math.
Cheers!

Give me a break. Obama gave her the finger after she destroyed him in the last debate. That was petty. The PA debate was the one that convinced him never to get in the same ring with her again.

Could you imagine hillary lossing a GE amd telling people after it she has to think about what she is going to do ?
Really what planet is she on ?

Wes Clark floats Obama-Sebelius
Wes Clark stopped out in Texas yesterday to drop by a fundraiser Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius headlined for Michael Skelly, a Democrat running for congress in Texas.
Clark introduced Sebelius and, according to a regular correspondent and reliable source who was there, said:
“The London odds-makers say that Kathleen Sebelius is the odds-on favorite to be the next vice
president. I can tell you, she’d make a great vice presidential choice.”
He then introduced her as “The next vice president of the United States….”
Sebelius is typically considered for the slot only if Obama is the nominee.
A sign of the times from a Clinton loyalist.

Clinton is petty. She is going to have baggage and drama even without Bill. I wonder what her audience thought when they came out of the basement and found out they had been prevented from finding out that Obama was already the nominee.

she doesnt have to back down,he won..
im not sure what she was trying to prove tonight. she never does anything just to do it and this talk about she wants to leave on a “up” as though she isnt a loser just not the winner i feel is far fetched. think about why does she need “love” from those who already follow her? and how would she have looked any better by those who dont?
i think this is another “teen age defiant” moment from her. maybe her way of saying i was going to back out but my supporters begged me to stay in and no one else is “willing” to look out for them i must be on the ticket or must keep fighting against him.
what i think she forgets is the moderate followers she has that will think well im upset it isnt hillary but i must now stop looking after her and look after my family and i have childen tha could be dragged into this war and mccain can not help me with economy..even if your willing to dump the party and fight on where would you go? mccain? if you backed hillary her issues where what brought you to her should be what keeps you from being able to back mccain..
plus hillary needs to think about how this will follow her with black, men, and young voters in new york if she wants to keep the power she holds and pull in more power? my thought not good!!

CNN SAYS NEITHER CAN :

This popular vote crap is just that. She didn’t win anything. Remember that Obama gave her votes from Michigan that she would not have otherwise won. It was like Obama won the lotto and gave her the ticket. She didn’t win it, it was given to her!
You Clinton supporters are so pathetic!
And her asking people to go to her website? Doesn’t she have some $100 million dollars?
RUBES! Dale Carnegie was right!
Suckers! Go ahead, throw good money after bad!

“Obama shares the views of Jeremiah Wright, Michael Pfleger, and Louis Farrakahn”
Where’s the video of that speech? Aparently you Clinton supporters aren’t aware that Rev Wright went to the whitehouse during the Lewinsky and impeachment scandals and prayed with the Clintons! Do the Clintons share Rev Wright’s views? I’m guessing that none of you were aware of this!
LOSERS!

For what it’s worth…Hillary’s campaign has been playing “Won’t Back Down” for weeks now at her rallys. Nothing new on the music selection.

Yeah she isn’t going anywhere. She’s going to make hell for all of us. It’s really sad, the primaries winner is whomever wins the delegate count unless you’re a clinton.
It’s just really really sad. I’m just tired of the threats, tired of the clintons and just want to move ahead for nov. She’s gonna be a real spoiler and Obama just doesn’t deserve any of this and NEITHER DOES THE AMERICAN PUBLIC.

Giving her website, talking as if the race is still active. She lost. I hope the party leaders sit down with her and have a very frank conversation with her. Its a shame she acted like that on national tv.

The DNC Committee threw this election into Obama’s lap. They lost millions of democrats in this stupid act. Obama did not win any delegates in Michigan.

Gee I thought the music was a nice touch.
Look guys do you want to unify the party or not? We are dramatically split. Clinton said she wouldn’t concede tonight and she didn’t….Obama had a very great PR even orchestrated by the MSM….He gave a fantastic speech where he …he was incredibly photogenic and he said all the right stuff.
So why are you so angry that Hillary didn’t break down? Enjoy the moment…she will do exactly what she said she’ll do….Work her heart out for Obama and help unite the party….What more do you want her to do? Maybe she should be playing some sort of defeated song…perhaps you would prefer some sort of tearjerker music…
The reason why we love Hillary is that we know that Obama may have won but Hillary is NOT defeated….I’m not sure you get it…
Posted by: Jackie | June 4, 2008, 2:06 am 2:06 am
Hillary never said she would concede.
The media said that.
No hurry!
The convention has the delegates vote, then they announce the nominee.
Unless they got rid of the super delegates?

If you still want to support Hillary please go ahead as this is a free country, but talk is cheap, put your money where your mouth is and go to her web site and donate to her campaign debt so she can get her money back. Stop talking and writing Hillary suporters and do something for your candidate. I will be keeping my money in my kid’s college fund.

It really doesn’t matter what HRC does from this point forward. If she wants to have any shot at being President -ever- she will work to help Obama win, whether he offers the VP slot or not. He could have her in his cabinet, but her primary performance would serve her better in the senate to get things done. At any rate the race in November is on the table and the choices are clear, you are either for continuing the war indefinitely, or not. You are for an overturning of Roe vs. Wade or not. You are pro-torture or not, you for universal health care, or you are not. You are for the continuation of the most unproductive governmental department, Homeland Security, or not. You want the next generation to be better educated and have more opportunity than you did, or not.
Whether you candidate won or lost today it is time to get over it and do what is necessary to make sure that what has gone on for the last 7 years does not continue.
Posted by: Louis | June 4, 2008, 2:45 am 2:45 am
HRC won’t run as a third candidate because not only would she lose, she would destroy the Democratic party which would end her political career as everyone would point to her as the reason McCain won.
Posted by: Louis | June 4, 2008, 3:05 am 3:05 am
hillary never said she would concede tonight. the media said that and threw a fit especially over at cnn when she did not follow their script lol. cnn was on the brink of hysterics they had their little coronation ceremony all planned out…very amusing. also remember the delegates do not VOTE until the convention in denver. both obama and mccain are officially the PRESUMED candidates so why should she concede. she will concede when she is ready.

I will not vote for Obama even if he puts Hillary on the ticket and she calls me personally begging me to do so.
I hope she does not accept a VP offer. I sure would hate to have to vote against her but, sorry, country first.

You can always learn more about a person when they lose and how they do it. I have all ways support the Clintons. I can truely said they way they conducted themselves during this campain was not very good. The blinders I will say for a lot of people is off. Hillary does act like she thinks she has a since of entitlement. If Hillary would have one there is not Question I would have voted for her. But she did not, There is no question that I will vote for Obama, I don’t care who you are or what color you are. Any one who votes for Mcclain is a fool. Another four years of what we have now would be laugable if it was not so tragic. You know the old saying”Fool me once, shame on you,”fool me twice shame on me. I was one of the millions of people who got voting right both times before In 2000 and 2004. Do you really think we can afford to put the wrong man in again.

I was at a large gathering of some of the her lead volunteers from Hillary’s NH campaign on the seacoast last night
(thought it would be more interesting to understand their mindset going forward)
and they were not happy…
with her speech.
at all.
sometimes it is a little comforting to watch someone realize something even though you can empathize with how painful their realization is….
hate to say again but didn’t want to say it to them last night but this is not about any of you who were supporting her and voted for her…I think a lot of Hillary supporters realized last night …yeah… this really is about her.
Posted by: dl | June 4, 2008, 7:45 am 7:45 am
I feel bad for all those people who had gotten hijacked by she and Bills ability to make people think this was about some noble issue.
Last night really was her finally really clearing that she will ignore the process if it does not suit her…
a few of you on here may say yeah she is going to fight on… but you are almost entirely alone that small group.
What she did last night was a slap in everyone who was voting for the issues and for all those things she said she was fighting for and then attempted to damage the nominee who is carrying those issues over her candidacy.
Sad that once again the Clintons will put themselves ahead of the country.

Jake – For all of us Clinton supporters out here, what has been truly petty is the attitude of the media and their disdain of Clinton and her supporters during this election.

This is her right to take it to the convention in Denver.
Every other president candidate have been allowed to take it the convention if they so choose.
WHY not Hillary?
WHY are the media so upset if she wants to exercise her right?
Hillary all the way to Denver!!!!

I was so proud of Hillary last night.
And so proud of America.
Congratulations to the 18 million of us supported Hillary. And to the women who dreamed of a woman president, with patience and perseverance it will happen one day. We won’t give up.
Hopefully it may still be Hillary.

In past history, the nomination has been challenged at the convention with a far broader pledged delegate spread between the candidates – Kennedy’s challenge to Carter in 1980 for example.
The instant gratification generation, who is too young to remember and to lazy to learn about political history, is ready for this to be over now, as though a new American Idol has been crowned. The media, in their fervor to direct public opinion on this election, has told you it is all over. It is if, and only if, Hillary says it is. They’ve done you – and America – a disservice by taking advantage of your ignorance.

While socially conservative, John McCain is a moderate, like the Clintons,he just leans right and they lean left.
He actually DOES have a track record of working across the aisle with Democrats to create legislation unlike the FANTASY of bipartisanship Obama tries to create.
He also has a track record of going against his party for something he believes in..unlike Obama who doesn’t take a stand.
I believe he will have a bipartisan cabinet and hope he appoints Hillary to it.
