Spokesman: Obama Decision to Leave Church Not Politically Motivated
ABC News’ Ben Newman reports: Sen. Barack Obama’s decision to cut ties with Trinity United Church of Christ was not politically motivated, Obama’s communications director Robert Gibbs said this morning.
"I think what [decision] Barack Obama made in the past few days is a deeply personal, not political decision," Gibbs said in an exclusive appearance on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” (Click HERE for video of Gibbs’ appearance).
A member of the church for 20 years, Obama faced mounting criticism for his relationship to Trinity after videos from a number of controversial sermons by the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and, more recently, by the Rev. Michael Pfleger appeared on the Internet.
In April, Obama responded to growing concern over his relationship with Wright, the church’s former pastor, saying, "I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community."
Gibbs said Obama’s decision to leave was not directly related to Wright’s comments or Father Pfleger’s May 25 sermon in which he mocked Hillary Clinton, but was also linked to the church’s uncomfortable and reluctant position in the media spotlight.
"They couldn’t do what members of a church do,” Gibbs said. “They were subject to a media circus that continues today."
Stephanopoulos pressed Gibbs on the convenient timing of the announcement and speculation the Obama may be linked to other controversial sermons, but Gibbs asserted Obama consulted with his family and the church community before making a decision.
“He thought [it] was best for his family, best for his church," Gibbs said. "He understands that he’s still a strong Christian, that his faith endures, and he’ll look for a new church home."

Just a coincidence LOL
How stupid do they think the American people are.
He is the most pathetic thing of a person.
He is cold and calculated politically, and does not do anything with that being his major concern.
Pfleger conveniently dropped off the Obama campaign as spiritual advisor last week.
Blame it on the media.
Always playing the blame game.

This is not motivated by politics…..
It’s simply another issue that he’s flip-flopped on.
Remember how Iran was not a serious threat to our nation; the very next day he claimed it was a major threat.
Similarly, he could no more disown Rev. Wright or trinity united church than he could disown his own grandmother or the black community; unless of course they had a less than desireable effect on his polling-then they were tossed under the bus.
You see, I have it by a good source that they have an internal pool going. The winner will be the one who most closely guesses the number of times that the mainstream media will help him cover up these flip flops. There’s a secondary prize for how often it is that anone who calls him on this attempted jedi mind trick is villified.
The prize for these pools is a cabinet level position………..
What a pusillanimous, palavering, popinjay!
God help us all if he is the next president of the united states!

From what I can tell Obama’s candidacy has only served to embolden and fire up the rhetoric of racist, anti-American nuts like Wright,Pfleger, Farrakhan. They see him as their champion. I want those folks to go back into their holes and a message to be sent that their hate has no place in civil American discourse. It appears that only a rejection of Obama will get that message across because Obama is just playing politics in his handling of them.

“Spokesman: Obama Decision to Leave Church Not Politically Motivated”
OMG!! This is so funny!! Are we supposed to believe this? I guess running for president isn’t politically motivated. And everyone in Chicago knows that both Wright and Phleger have been the way they are for years. Obama is the one changing now. ANYTHING TO GET ELECTED!!!!! I that that was only something a Clinton would do. Live and learn kids. You have to make compromise to get in office and stay there. You guys blasted the Clintons for their compromises. So immature. Well, now live with it.
Posted by: Tony | June 1, 2008, 1:42 pm 1:42 pm
Haha yeah right not political motivated at all. He is the most calculating poltician ever. You know what they say Obama the more things change the more they stay the same. This man is not an agent of change he is just your typical politican and people may begin to realize it. I hear Oprah has a new church or some new theology maybe Obama is looking to join that. As an african American I find it appalling that Obama and the media said this is the way the most black churches are and that not really true, and if it I guess obama can’t join a new black church cause won’t it be the same thing?

Obama lies again. His aid tries to cover up that Obama is just another politician and he wavers as soon as there’s someone giving him trouble. But I have seen his true color and know that leaving his church is based on his political calculation. In his own words, he and Michelle have been thinking about leaving the church as long as he runs his campaign. What does that tell you? Who would believe this is not politically motivated but out of personal reasons?
Obama, please show your guts and just be honest to yourself. We don’t like you and will not vote for you because you’ve proved yourself time and time again that you are no different than any other ugly politician and your change is full of lies.

actually i heard that the average person forgets 80% of what they hear everyday. regardless, i believe everything i see on the internet so i think this obama ploy will work.

Most of these comments seem pretty bizarre to me. The issue raised here has to do with Obama distancing himself (No matter what anyone says) from his former Pastor for political reasons. What seems more interesting here, rather than making asinine assertions about Obama’s religious beliefs and them some how taking over the country, is the fact that in order for any prominent politician to win office requires so much deceptive political maneuvering.
Further, if you want to challenge political candidates viability one should go beyond simple pundit equations regarding someones religion or race. If you have a problem with a candidate speak to the policies and political record of them.
Posted by: Forest | June 1, 2008, 1:55 pm 1:55 pm
It seems pretty clear that Obama used Wright and the “Million Man March” troops for black street cred and to solidify the 95% black vote through the primaries. But he’s systematically retreated, first with his speech on race in America(not politically motivated), then with his denouncement of Wright (not politically motivated) and now with his leaving his church (not politically motivated). I love his brand of “New Politics”. So refreshing.

NOT POLITICALLY MOTIVATED, yeah, right, announced right in the middle of the deliberation by the Rules Committee, the outcome of which represented the disenfranchisement of 600,000 Michigan voters. He was after one thing and one thing only, divert the headlines away from the Michigan debacle, in which he stold votes from the voters, and from Hillary Clinton. Don’t give me “well it wasn’t even supposed to count” garbage, the only reason he took his name off the ballot is because the polls showed he would be crushed. He ran an active robo-calling campaign for uncommitteed votes. I do admit he is a very sly politicisan, or at least Axelrod is. Obama is ALL ABOUT politics as usual surrounded by the same usual suspects, a bunch of liberal losers.

As a Christian, this is all stuff that would bother me if Obama were going to be a bishop or a pastor, but he’s not. In a society that is suppose to keep church and state separate a good president can be of any or no religion.

As the liberal Democrat adult child of a (now deceased) Republican right-winged fundamentalist minister, I can appreciate Obama’s cunundrum. Although there is no Constitutional religious test for office, there will forever be the people’s test in that we cannot sever ourselves completely from our religious or biological genealogy. I would hope that thinking Americans can rationalize that Obama, although shaped by his family and religious ties, is an intelligent, compassionate person who has the integrity and intellect to lead the nation in the changes that are so desperately needed.

Finally, here are the cracks in the PR image. The man is a politician. D’uh. Too bad it’s taken this long for his negatives to emerge. We could have had a truly vetted candidate so that the general campaign could have been about the issues. Now we’re in for a half a year of nasty revelations how much american voters have once again been played for fools.

Damage Control Again
Obama said he was saddened by leaving the church and of course he would NOT denounce the philosophy because he believes the philosophy…so why leave the church? Because he is in an Election where people do not think a man running for such a high office should sit and listen to sermons of “hate against whites” every Sunday. And, no one believes that he was just there to pray and never heard any of the sermons. So nothing is over—this man’s judgment is really awful. Wonder what he has instore for all America?

McCain will give us perpetual war in the middle east. We shell out $100 billion a month now in Iraq and Afghanistan. Imagine adding on Iran to that. Bush squandered away Bill Clinton’s $1 trillion surplus. We are in a $3 trillion deficit because of Bush’s economic policies. McCain vows to continue with those policies – even make them permanent. He will build schools and hospitals in Iraq while our schools and hospitals degrade and decay. He will reward the rich. Phil Gram, the lobbyist for investment banks, wrote his economic platform.
You want to plunge the US into deeper debt and make it less safe simply because you don’t like the idea of a black man being the POTUS? That is repulsive.

Only a fool will argue with McCain’s military experience. I have several friends and family in the military. Will I support them for the presidency? No, so but it take quite a bit more than that to hold such a position of influence. I love the renegade spirit McCain showed on several of his votes his years in the senate. The way he speaks right now just does not bring me the confidence that he will maintain his non-partisan sort of thinking. I cannot vote for Hillary at this point because there is no way she can get that nomination honestly. I am all for women–went to all-girls’ schools from elementary through Midway College, KY. I will vote for Obama because he won, he’s a democrat, and in essence, he and Hillary share similar policies.

It seems as though Obama excels at whipping up his supporters into a hateful hysteria that demonizes his opponents. His political tactic throughout his career has been to drive his opposition from the field. He has “inspired” those who call Hillary a “Monster”, an “entitled white person” etc. I do not see how this talent to whip people up translates into being an effective, productive leader.
Posted by: hopesprings52 | June 1, 2008, 3:58 pm 3:58 pm
Obama continually insults the intelligence of the voters. He’s nothing but an “old politics” politician just like the others. He’s a rank and file Democrat with absolutely nothing impressive enough in his record to indicate he’s capable of making all the changes he promises. He’s a corporate candidate just like the other two. He’s no different then either McCain and Clinton and what’s insulting is that his campaign tries to convince the voters he’s some type of new politician. He clearly has, while insulting the intelligence of the voters as a whole with his charade about not taking special interest money
and not engaging in dirty politics, been able to convince half the Democrats he’s something new. The funny thing is that it will be his supporters who inevitable end up the most disappointed in him once it becomes too obvious to ignore, that he’s just the same old, same old.

Bishop: The only thing Obama brought was trouble to the campaign with his pastors. However, no matter what he does, he could have a prison record and people will still vote for him because they think like him. He is a racist, anti-american and dislikes white people but will use them for his own benefit. The blacks would vote for him if he cheated on his wife and had children out of wedlock because they lack common sense. They don’t care what’s right or wrong they just vote. And this generation of young college students are in the same category. I read on the internet that 52% of college students have to take drugs to keep going to class. I wonder how much booze they drink. Obama did the same in college and that’s why the college student’s of today like him. He is just like them.

However, Those Democrats who are for Hillary should consider this; Voting for McCain as a protest vote is just voting for another loser. I would submit that those people consider voting for a third party candidate. A third party candidate that the disgruntled Republican voterss can also vote for. Throw out the “BUMS”" in both MAJOR parties. We would all be better off! Any suggestions for what third party to vote for are welcome. Something HAS to give. The STATUS QUO is not working. What kind of convictions and values does Obama have? non. He is the worst kind of politician, an oportunist and a liar.

Cadone: Yes, Obama is the best candidate to get us into another war with the enemy. Their just waiting for him to get elected. In fact they will be dancing in the streets. And Obama wanting to talk to Hamas and Iran. The head of Iran is ten times smarter than Obama and could teach him. I know Bin Laden would get a good laugh at America.

hahahaha RIGHT how stupid do “they” (the DNC?) think we ARE?! C’mon ya’ll… we are not blind mice being led by a slice of cheese.
However the DNC might be !!! Considering the state of affairs and the fact that they seem hell bent (for what unknown reason? Money? Historical impact?) on shoving Obama up our throats! Well, looks like most of us that I know will be joining the Democrats for McCain party in the next week or so – unless the DNC puts this right, and I do mean quickly. I won’t stand for ANY committee dictating to me where MY vote is meant to be assigned and where it is not.

Obama is not just a politician, he is a very bad politician. It’s pretty clear for anyone willing to see that he preaches exactly opposite of what he practices. And, his new direction remains undefined and becomes more frightening as new details about his past emerge. Add to that, the fact that nobody can explain what he stands for, and the conclusion about his ability becomes increasingly clear.

Blah, blah, blah, blah
YAWN
No one cares what you think. Really! You’re opinion isn’t at all important to anyone but yourself. Get over your ego.
You’re also not nearly as smart as you think. Your rants prove just the opposite. You’re simply a parrot who just repeats what you hear- a lemming who is being led off the cliff.
Quit while there’s still a doubt as to how incredibly rediculous you really are.
There are no “undecideds” on these blogs. Even if there were, they wouldn’t listen to you.
Go outside. It’s nice out. Get some friends. I’m heading back out again now. Just thought I’d say hello.

McCain is the most electable Democrat running! Everything he has said and done is as political as what Obama has said and he’s already GOT a nomination. It would be ironic if Democrats were the ones to get McCain elected, especially considering that a whole lot of Republicans have abandoned him.

That’s a load of cr*p. Of course, it’s politically motivated. Why would anyone be so defensive to at least admit the obvious.

I really think this campaign is getting alot of excitement on these blogs. Does anyone else feel these are addicting? I came in as democrat and may join the republicans I don’t know. But is that the effect of the blogging? I look at peoples arguments like a lawyer though I am not a lawyer. For awhile I wasn’t even reading the blogs in all caps. Wasn’t it the republicans that championed civil rights in the 60′s and democrats opposed? Another thing. Didn’t Clinton champion civil rights in his administration? I think we will all pay for the gas that will be like giving up a meal. But I want a strong representative in the negotiations not someone green and untried.

I think Obama,s decision to leave Trinity was both personal & political. If he were not running for president, all of this would not have come out. I am supporting him because of his character and political issues. Though I am African American, I initially supported Hilliary, but switched because of her dirty campaigning. Show me a politician who has not lied in his/her campaigning. Anyone who has sinned not, let him/her throw the first insult.

Is that true that they’ve been played along with these whole things?
Beginning with Rev.Wright came out against him and force him to denounce his pastor.
Still people don’t believe him because he still belonged to this church and came out another pastor to force him to quit from this church.
So now,,,he thinks nobody can say anything about him relates to the church anymore.
That’s what he expects.

We’re a big country. We allow a freedom of religion ( at least in some areas I know as fact). That includes Islam. I subscribe to another religion and I am proud that America allows that freedom over a country that has no tolerance for religion. I vote. I hear MLK in my minds eye, occasionally. I know people are sacrificing for me in the war. I am happy with all three candidates. I see “jesus’s message” in the race for 2008. Civil rights. Let’s get on with this.

Obama is portraying himself as an agent of change. If he could not change the hate and bigotry of his chuch members (did you observe how those members in the background) applauded the priest hateful comments) in the last 20 years, how could he change America in four years?
He has neither the skills or the experience to be president. It’s time for America to wake up!

DON’T BE DUPED AGAIN AMERICA !!!
IT’S ABOUT ELECTABILITY !!!
Large numbers of BUSH_McCain Republicans have been voting for Barack Obama in the DEMOCRATIC primaries, and caucuses from early on with the backing and help of the medical and insurance industry. Under the direction of the George Bush, and Karl Rove vote fraud, and vote manipulation machine. Because they feel Barack Obama would be a weaker opponent against John McCain. And they want to stop Hillary Clinton from fixing the HUGE! American, and Global mess they have created. shocking!!! isn’t it. Just gotta love those good old draft dodging, silver spoon Texas boys. Not! :-(
You see, the medical and insurance industry mostly support the republicans with the money they ripped off from you. And they don’t want you to have quality, affordable universal health care. They want to be able to continue to rip you off, and kill you and your children by continuing to deny you life saving medical care that you have already paid for. So they can continue to make more immoral profits for them-selves off of you, and your children’s suffering.
With Hillary Clinton you are almost 100% certain to get quality affordable universal health care for everyone very soon. And you are also certain to see major improvements in the economy for everyone.
The American people face even worse catastrophes ahead than the ones you are living through now. It will take all of the skills, and experience of Hillary Clinton to pull the American people out of this mess we are in. Fortunately fixing up, and cleaning up others incompetence, immoral degeneracy, and mess is what the Clinton’s do very well.
Hillary Clinton has actually won by much larger margins than the vote totals showed. And lost by much smaller vote margins than the vote totals showed. Her delegate count is actually much higher than it shows. And higher than Obama’s. She also leads in the electoral college numbers that you must win to become President in the November national election. HILLARY CLINTON IS ALREADY THE TRUE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE!
Just look at Oregon for example. Obama won Oregon by about 70,000 votes. But approximately 79,000 Bush republicans switched party’s back in January to vote for Obama in the democratic primary. They are not going to vote for, or support any Democrat in November. Are you DEMOCRATS going to put up with that. Are you that stupid, and weak. The Bush republicans think you are that stupid, and weak.
As much as 30% of Obama’s primary, and caucus votes are Republicans trying to choose the weakest democratic candidate for McCain to run against. These Republicans have been gaming the caucuses, and open primaries where it is easier to vote cheat. This is why Obama has not been able to win the BIG! states primaries. Even with Republican vote cheating help. Except North Carolina where 35% of the population is African American, and approximately 90% of them block voted for him. African Americans are only approximately 17% of the general population.
Hillary Clinton has been OUT MANNED! and OUT SPENT! 4 and 5 to 1. Yet Obama has only been able to manage a very tenuous, and questionable tie with Hillary Clinton. This is even more phenomenal when you consider she has been also fighting against the George Bush, Karl Rove vote fraud machine in the DEMOCRATIC primaries, and caucuses. Hillary Clinton is STUNNING!.
If Obama is the democratic nominee for the national election in November he will be slaughtered. That is crystal clear now. Because all of the Republican vote cheating help will suddenly evaporate. And the demographics, and experience are completely against him. All of this vote fraud and Bush republican manipulation has made Obama falsely look like a much stronger candidate than he really is.
You will have another McGovern catastrophe where George McGovern lost 49 of 50 states. And was the reason the super-delegates were created to keep that from happening again. Don’t let that happen to the party and America again super-delegates. You have the power to prevent it. The only important question now is who can best win in November. And the answer is HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON. That fact is also now crystal clear.
And YOUNG PEOPLE. DON’T BE DUPED! Think about it. You have the most to lose. As do African Americans. Support Hillary Clinton. She will do her best for all of you. And she will know how to best get it done on day one.
The democratic party needs to fix this outrage. Everyone needs to throw all your support to Hillary Clinton NOW! So you can end this outrage against YOU the voter, and against democracy.
The democratic party, and the super-delegates have a decision to make. Are the democrats, and the democratic party going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee to fight for the American people. Or are the republicans going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee through vote fraud, and gaming the DEMOCRATIC party primaries, and caucuses.
Fortunately the Clinton’s have been able to hold on against this fraudulent outrage with those repeated dramatic, and heroic comebacks of Hillary Clinton’s. Only the Clinton’s are that resourceful, and strong. Hillary Clinton is your NOMINEE. They are the best I have ever seen. Probably the best there has ever been. :-)
“This is not a game” (Hillary Clinton)
Sincerely
jacksmith… Working Class :-)

Look.
The media was contacting people at that church at home. They were contacting the sick and elderly off of lists that were intended on letting people know who needed help.
There were death threats and bomb threats.
Whether you like the church or not, no one deserves bomb/death threats.
I’m surprised he didn’t leave before now, after the first death threats, but better late than never.
That church doesn’t deserve to have a media field day camped around it 24/7. A media by the way who aren’t even attempting to show people what the church is REALLY like, just hanging around like vultures for some new dirt.
So disgusting.

Obama lied to his constituents in Illinois, why do you believe he will tell the truth now?
On the January 22nd 2006 edition of “Meet the Press,” Tim Russert and Obama had the following exchange:
Russert: “When we talked back in November of ’04 after your election, I said, ‘There’s been enormous speculation about your political future. Will you serve your six-year term as United States senator from Illinois?’”
Obama: “I will serve out my full six-year term. You know, Tim, if you get asked enough, sooner or later you get weary and you start looking for new ways of saying things. But my thinking has not changed.”
Russert: “So you will not run for president or vice president in 2008?”
Obama: “I will not.”

If not politically motivated then what is the motivation? Could it be after 20 years he has had a tide of morality? Doubt it. Could it be after 20 years he now thinks this could be bad for his family? Doubt it. Could it be after 20 years he now thinks this is the best way to get the white vote? YES, By George I think we have it!

What the Obama fanatics amazes me most is that they believe everything their idol says. When he says sit, they would just sit like puppies.
When Bo says, it is not politically motivated, the Bo fanatics would just shake their fluffy tail and go home satisfied with no political motivation.
Bo can take himself out of the church, but aint nobody can take the church out of this man.
Bo will do the self-destruction after his lethal friends, worse than enemies, begin to see the daylight of payday.

God Bless him. He thinks we are all so gullible to be believe this little announcement. He knows he is damaged by his defense of, explanations for, and so-called ignorance of rantings and ravings of such good “Christian” men. Do they sound like they are giving “The Sermon on the Mount”? Incredible! If he is so dumb to live with such rantings for twenty years, then we are even dumber for thinking he is truthful.
Of course, this is political expediency! He thinks if he is no longer a member, that the record goes away. It will never go away. And he cannot win against McCain.

Oh give us a break – he is “leaving” the church because it has become too detrimental to his nomination for the presidency. WHO DOES THIS CREEP THINK HE IS FOOLING? Hope and Change? Yeah, he hopes he can change the beliefs of the the “typical White person” to believe everything he and the media TELLS you to believe.
How can you obama followers be so blind?
He is only doing this because he will do anything to become president. What are you going to do when all these dubious characters wind up on one committee or another for the destruction of America? obama will give this country to Iran and anyone else- he will enforce reparations for slavery and he will try to destroy the white person. Bet on it.

TO BISHOP: “Obama has done something no one could do he has brought unity”
Before you make comments like this, PLEASE TELL ME WHAT/WHERE OBMAMA HAS BROUGHT UNITY TO WHAT?
He has DIVIDED the Democratic Party; he has divided the Nation where Civil Rights are concerned; he has run the most racist, bigoted campaign EVER. Yet you think he has united? What has he united. And why cannot you obama followers show the rest of us what he has united? What.
What I am seeing is more hate (is this united?), more demeaning of other candidates (is this uniting the obama followers to spew more hate? This is your vision for uniting?)
I feel sorry for you cult followers. McCain will be the next president if obama is elected. DO YOU REALLY THINK THE REPUBLICANS WILL ALLOW THIS PERSON TO BE ELECTED? THINK AGAIN.
Posted by: Lou | June 2, 2008, 1:37 pm 1:37 pm
It has always been very obvious that obama hates Clinton and he does inspire his follower to incite hate. obama does not apologize to Clinton ever – he makes some lame, insignifcant statement about how he “disapproves” of what is said about her, but he won’t apologize -he just smirks.
It is this side of obama that I cannot stand. He thinks he is better than everyone and that he can incite his follower to demean Hillary Clinton, but the Clinton supporters cannot in any way disparage his motives. He is such a hyocrite and a patronizing, self centered individual. It is obama who feels he is entitled to the presidency because he his black.
He will incite riots in this country if he is not nominated and not elected. And the DNC is so frightened of these threats that hey are giving in to him. This is a leader? Of what? A cult that will kill for him and all he has to do is give the word. Will it be given for the blacks to kill whites? YES
Posted by: Lou | June 2, 2008, 2:34 pm 2:34 pm
I have been reading and litsening to all of these comments in these e-mails and on the news, and I’m real tired of this SH?T. It’s hard to be black and not see racisim, and it’s even harder to believed that white America can’t see it either. Either they have blinders on are just blind.
I can remember not to long ago white people came up with a new class of race Bi-racial, because they didn’t want their grandchildren or children being called Black anymore. Who ideal was it anyway to called them Black? White people. Remember the 1/10 rules you came up with, or if not you your ancesters.
Now you have a candidate which represent both races and thats not good enough for you either. He has one black and one white parent, that should made him the BEST of both worlds, but racisim is a live and kicking, because the white people, not all can’t get pass the Black. I just hope when we start really treating people equal we as Americans will one day see the good any and all Americans can do for this great country.
This person Mariann Pepitone should just stay off the net, I know its a free country, but nothing you wrote made any sense.
No one talking about the minister Jonn McCain has ,who gave a speech about hating all moslem.Saying they all are devil and need to be detroy. The media didn’t even give it must air play. Why? because white people can say or do anything and its ok.
The reason alot of you can’t understand our pain as a race, is because to you salvery happened a long time ago and I understand that too, but alot of us is old enough to remember only 40 some odd years ago we couldn’t vote, eat at the same couner or even go to the same schools. We’re not talking about 2 or 3 hundred years ago. We still have great-grand parents or even grandparents who are living who were in some part of salvery. We know we have alot who were under the Jim Crow Laws, so maybe, just maybe you need to consider where we are today and where were just let than 60 years ago.
Anyway my point is Obama could be the Best of both worlds, He represents the Best of us and the Best of you, because he comes from us both. So next time you start talking negatively about him note that you are talking about you also.

This is to those of you who said Bin Larden and the rest of our enemies will be dancing in the streets if Obama wins, well where have you been for the last seven years? They’ve been dancing since 9/11, and they’re still celebrating, with all the technology we have and we have alot we can’t find Bin Larden, or we just don’t want to. Look at all the money being made off of our soldiers and their family pain. This war could have been over years ago, but it wouldn’t have benefited the rich and powerful. This country never have money for our own citizens health insurance,or to help out elderly, but we can built police stations in Iraq with swimming pools and gym. We can award big contracts to companies which our Vice-president use to be apart of without even bidding on them.We have spent billions and billions of dollars on a war no one wanted, but we can’t give our less fortunately health care. Why do this not bother people who are supposely smart people. Back when Hillary was trying to get National Health Care, THe big insurance companies spent millions and millions of dollars to defeat it, couldn’t those millions been spent on helping the poor. They didn’t care how much they spended to defeat the bill ,because our government gave them big write-offs.It was suppose to be a government for the people by the people, but it the government for the haves and not the don’t haves. Most of us are in the same boat black and white, but they keep us poor people fighting amongs ourselves why they rob all of us blind. Making rules to benefit them. Our elective officials tell us what we want to hear and when they get to Washington they jopin the good old boys club and we’re left in the dark. Wake up people it neither black or white, it’s the Big business aginst us. They fought over raising the minimal wage for over ten years and when we finally get it it takes 2 hrs pay to get a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk. Some of our officials say welfare is hurting our country, they get welfare. With all the money and preks they get why can’t they buy their own health insurance and then we’ld see have they like it, but as long as they can vote to give theirselves raises, what they have to worry about. We need to wake up America and start looking out for our weak and not everyones elses. WE give money to almost half the countries in the world, but never seems to have any for us.
My 13 year old daughter sees a problem with that, so how come the smart and so call educated can’t see a problem.
