McCain: Obama More Worried About ’08 Campaign Than Losing a War

ABC News’ Jennifer Duck Reports: Sen. John McCain used some of his strongest words yet comparing his judgment to his opponent’s saying Sen Barack Obama "would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign.”

“This is a clear choice that the American people have.  I had the courage and the judgment to say that I would rather lose a political campaign than lose a war.  It seems to me that Sen. Obama would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign,” McCain said in Rochester, New Hampshire today around the same time Sen. Obama was speaking with reporters overseas.

McCain continued to attack his Democratic opponent on the surge.

“He was wrong then, he’s wrong now, and he still fails to acknowledge–he still fails to acknowledge that the surge succeeded. Remarkable.  Remarkable,” McCain said.  “He’s just received his first briefing ever from Gen. Petraeus.  And he declared his policy towards Iraq before he left, before he left.”

Obama was asked during a press conference in Amman, Jordan if voters should give McCain credit for his support for the surge.

“I will leave it to the voters to make that decision. And, you know, my hope is to avoid a colloquy with the McCain campaign over the next four or five days,” Obama responded.

“I think that Senator McCain deserves great credit for caring deeply about the safety and security of the American people," Obama added. "And I think he’s made a series of decisions based on his best judgment of what would be good for American safety and security.  I’ve differed with him on a range of those judgments. But I think that in each instance he’s made those decisions based on what he thinks makes the most sense.”

Rep. Heather Wilson, R-N.M, told reporters on a conference call that Obama is “frighteningly inexperienced” when it comes to foreign affairs and national security policy.  Wilson also said McCain would like to have troops out earlier than the 16 month time frame Obama has proposed.

"He would like troops to come home earlier than 16 months if the conditions allow it," Wilson, who is a surrogate for McCain, said on the call.  "Senator Obama has said it’s a 16 month timeline no matter what."

McCain was later asked if he agrees with Wilson.

“I think that they can be home dependent on conditions on the ground,” McCain told a small group of reporters.  “The surge has succeeded. It has succeeded. We are winning the war. If we’d have done what Senator Obama wanted we’d have lost.”

McCain regularly holds town hall style speeches across the country and today one anti-war New Hampshire resident caused a McCain-friendly crowd to boo as she asked three questions about the invasion of Iraq.  McCain calmed the crowd admitting those questions are on many Americans minds.

The Arizona Republican admitted the first four years of the war were “badly mishandled” but continued support for a conditioned based withdraw.

“Everybody recognizes, including Prime Minister Maliki, that we have to have conditions based withdraw.  And we’re going to withdraw.  We will withdraw. The fact is whether we withdraw in victory or whether we withdraw in defeat,” McCain said.  “We have succeeded.  Sadr City is safe, Mosul is safe, Basra safe.  The people of Iraq—and I have been there—are leading normal lives.”

McCain said, “there will continue to be spectacular attacks” adding Al Qaeda has not been “completely defeated” but they have been “set back enormously” because of the surge strategy.

OBAMA is being propped up!!! I question the media’s relationship with Obama, BIG TIME. He is a liar and a phony (period).

Obama stutters and stammers and lies. That is about all he does, and he does it well.

Thats a FLIP-FLOP. report it as one. If it was Obama, it would have been all over the news. Mccain supports anything that polls well.

mj,
Give it a rest. McCain once proudly said that the media was his “base”. Now hopefully the media will start covering McCain in all his bumpy glory.
They can start by covering the flip-flop McCain did last Friday at the GM TEch Center regarding car emissions. McCain has always said he was for Federally regulated emissions standards, but told the crowd on Friday that he now favors state regulated emissions standards (a death knell for US automakers).

McCain supporters today are saying we MAY be able to pull out sometime in 2012 or 2013. Five or six YEARS! How much will that cost???

Obama has had the stated the same Iraq policy since Nov 2006. The McCain camp is so desperate now, they just make up stuff as they go along!!
They try to create these fake controversies in hopes that the media plays along. Hopefully by now the media is catching on to what many Dems already knew: McCain campaign is spinning out of control!!!

I fully agree with McCain, Obama just wants to win the campaign, not care for the country.
Not only in the competitionon between Obama and McCain, but also in the competition between Obama and Hillary, it has shown that Obama just wants to win the campaign. All he did just wanting to win, not care what’s good for the country.
All I have learned from Obama is, not hard work, but point out what’s wrong with others’.
The young generation was misled.
His campaign is totally negative. He is a truely opportunist. He claimed he doesn’t like war, is only because he wants to attract the votes. After he visited Iraq, he claimed no timetable for withdrawl, which proved McCain is right and more trustworthy.

McCain said we can withdraw in as soon as 2 years.
McCain said it has to be conditions based of the iraqis taking over.
Obama wants to run out without turning it over to the iraqis.
Obama will leave a vacuum.
Obama said u.s troops more u.s troops in iraq would create more violence. Now he is saying they reduced violence before saying the military didn’t affect anything.
Obama is flip flopping all over the place.
In his first two years in the senate Obama voted for more funds for the troops until he voted agaisnt the funds to win political points during the primary.

McSame, said that 100 years in Irak is good and that the withdraw of troops is not a priority. But if McSame wants Irak as a future friend and ally of the US, then the occupation has to end, you do not continue to occupy a friend and that is what Obama is about, he can build a good relationship with Irak and keep that country as a very close ally in the future. Boots diplomacy and cowboy talks will not make it, McSame has to know about that. God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA08.

How can you lose a war that you went into based on lies? McCain, Bush and all the others, lied to the American people, they took us into the war on lies, we should never have gone into Iraq, for the Republicans to keep using the excuse that those people needed to be free, is like china coming here and telling us we should not.
McCain has a lot of nerve to say anything about this war. Bush had no plan, McCains plan is to keep Bushes going. The Republicans are so bad that they are now using Obama’s plan to end this war to try to make McCain look good. They make my stomach turn.

Posted by: becky | July 22, 2008, 4:28 pm 4:28 pm

Oh golfgirl…c’mon. . .I think the American people have figured out that the current crop of Republicans are the real “phonies” out there. Isn’t it bad enough that conservatives love America sooooo much that they have to engage in outright lies and deception to get support from the American people?
And yet the GOP trots out the very same candidate they threw under the bus eight years ago – in favor of George W. Bush – and expects us to trust them that they can make a good decision THIS time.
No thanks. You had your chance, and the American people are paying heavily for that mistake.

Talk about “inexperienced”. . .the media hauls out wingnut/dominionist Heather Wilson as if that moron possesses an objective brain cell in her head?
I can’t imagine what Heather Wilson has ever done to give her “experience” in identifying the needs of the presidency. Last I read, she is going to be struggling to hold onto her own congressional seat this year.

Posted by: kevinbgoode | July 22, 2008, 4:33 pm 4:33 pm

Wasn’t the Surge supposed to mean we could start withdrawing US troops? Wasn’t that the point? So how come McCain says its been succesful but we can’t start withdrawing troops? I think McCain is clinging onto one thin hope that people will think the Surge is working. Otherwise he could go down to a very heavy defeat. And histopry will say that he lost because at least in part, he didn’t take full advantage of that coupld of months head start he had in the national campaign.

————-
What are you talking about? McCain said he could imagine most U.S. troops home by 2013. I think he’s unsure what his position is now. Both sides are talking about a timetable or a “time horizon,” as the Bush Administration is now calling it, so McCain isn’t sure where he stands anymore. He supported establishing permanent bases in Iraq–as did President Bush. He also thought it was a great idea to invade the country. That demonstrated good judgment, didn’t it? Obama has never talked about withdrawing troops without evaluating conditions on the ground. He wants to have the country run by Iraqis–it’s their country, isn’t it?

McCain is still whining like a baby complaining that Obama would rather lose a war than lose an election.Senator McCain is pathetic he thinks that what he says is Gospel and anything Senator Obama says is always wrong.McCain wants to force his views on Senator Obama and let no one else speak. He is upset that Senator Obama has more coverage than he does, so he cries about it and makes ridiculous statements just to get air time. He is an angry old man who is just stuck in his old ways and will not listen to anybody elses reasoning.Senator Obama keep doing what you are doing to get ready for the Presidency.

The MAINSCREAM media has failed the US so badly that covering for their errors is what many of us now focus on. Notice they do the bushbabys bidding by failing to list any war dead count either from IRAQ or Afghanistan, which was never added to the WAR ON TERROR totals ever. Now you will only see the monthly dead from the new Afghani front and perhaps you can forget the 5000 or so previously dead soldiers. Did you get the newsie story about how all the participants in the PAT TILLMAN cover up now employ the ronnie rayguns, don’t know and can’t remember defense? Wonder which MAINSCREAM outlet will total the cash payouts to the IRAQI insurgents to quit fighting in order to pretend the surge worked? FILM AT ELEVEN folks right after the DESPERATE NETWORK show…

There is no definition of “winning” in Iraq that can be explained publicly. But Bush, Cheney and the oil company executives like Lee Raymond know that we won the war as soon as we invaded. The problem for them is to keep it going longer so they can sop up more hard earned money from the middle class in exorbitant energy pricing.

Posted by: hiendurance | July 22, 2008, 5:09 pm 5:09 pm

McCain can try to slam Obama all he wants. The fact is that McCain has reversed course on his convictions and adopted Bush’s policies because he can’t figure out any other stategy that will win for him. He is engaged in a sisyphian task, however, because no matter how you paint it McCain wants to stick with the old and Americans have had enough and are going to go for the new, and that means Obama. McCain may have bucked his party on some things in the past, but now that he’s lost in trying to figure out a winning strategy, he’s clinging to his security blanket of the neocons and far right and it’s just not going to work. George Bush has f-cked McCain in every way he can.

Regarding McCain’s comment that “there will continue to be spectacular attacks” adding Al Qaeda has not been “completely defeated” but they have been “set back enormously” because of the surge strategy, have we found any Iraq-Al Qaeda connection yet that would be affected by the Surge strategy or is he referring to a future surge in Afghanistan as Senator Obama has suggested?

Posted by: Tom Olson | July 22, 2008, 5:13 pm 5:13 pm

okay which candidate never mentions his push to go into the war?
which candidate never says the war was a mistake?
which candidate never mentions that this surge cost us 200,000,000,000 dollars and we don’t know whether it will work
which candidate flipped on almost every principal they had to get the right wing base?
which candidate thinks it is more important that his surge look like it worked at the expense of afghanistan and pakistan falling into chaos?
which candidate…
this is joke mcCain… when the surge wasn’t working on it’s own he used the exact playbook from afghanistan and started giving millions and guns to muslim extremists (insurgents) to fight with us against the taliban…
the exact same thing we did in afghanistan and ended up with al qaeda and osama bin laden
he is an old man who is stuck in bad old outdated war strategy from the 80′s. which brought terrorists back on our soil and gave them their biggest recruitment tools they have ever had.

About the only thing McCain can say is repeated whining and finger pointing. It’s so pathetic! Every statement he makes is a criticism of Obama but you don’t hear Obama returning the mud slinging! If McCain expect to win the election by mudslinging and criticizing his opponent, he’s a sorry case for president. Haven’t we had enough of Bush finger pointing at others and blaiming everyone else for his mistakes? It doesn’t take much charactor to deamonize someone else, is that all the Republicans have to offer? – A disenchanted independent.

It was John McCain who voted to send our soldier to war with a country which was no threat to us, a country which DID NOT have ANY weapons of mass destruction, AND IT IS John McCain WHO HAS SAID THAT HE WOULD MAKE THE SAME DECISION AGAIN. John McCain said that even with the faulty intelligence,(LIES)the war was premise on, that he, John McCain still felt that war with Iraq was justified, AND THAT HE WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN.
This is even though John McCain knows that the Iraq war has resulted in 4000 of our soldiers DYING in IRAQ!!! THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL TERRIBLE JUDGEMENT!!! JOHN McCAIN SAYING THAT HE WHO WOULD STILL SEND SOLDIERS INTO A WAR HE KNOWS WAS BASED ON A LIE!!!

Obama has shown bad judgment. He wants to lose a war by simply pulling out. That is a judgment Americans should not support.
Obama’s opposition to Iraq war is not based on good judgment. But it is based on the fact that he is anti-war. Remember his association with William Ayers, the domestic terrorist, who is an anti-Vietnam war terrorist.

Someone in here said that Obama was dishing out lies and blaming the opponent for everything going on. Upon reviewing this article and the one about the NYT snubbing McCain’s OpEd letter (and reading McCain’s intended letter) I can say that this is a false statement.
It appears that, in fact, it is McCain doing the finger-pointing and the ridiculing, whereas Obama is staying above that level of child’s play. He makes positive statements that do not villify McCain, and don’t question his opinions.
In the NYT post that McCain was going to put forth, McCain was going all over Obama about the surge. The OpEd articles from both candidates are to be about their goals about how and where they will lead this country if one becomes president. Obama kept that focus in his editorial, but McCain railed on him about his going to Iraq and harping about how ‘successful’ the surge was and that Obama must admit the surge worked.
Frantic are the cries of a drowning man.

Posted by: cubistcat | July 22, 2008, 5:44 pm 5:44 pm

SURGE ALL YOU WANT McCain, but the fact still remains that your best judgment would not have been necessary had you listened to Obama not to go to Iraq in the first place.
I can’t agree more with one comment above that likens McCain’s best judgment to someone who sets fire to his house and then asks everyone to call him a hero for dialing 9-1-1.
But besides, I think the bigger and better question to focus on is what to do now. Here too the difference couldn’t be more stark. While McCain wants to find any excuse for continuing to stay with talks like oh, well, we don’t know what might happen if we leave, Obama says let’s have a goal to get out of here and let the Iraqis be the sovereign nation we’ve spent money and blood to create.
The conclusion? Obama got it right first about whether to go to Iraq or not and he is still right today about the timing to leave. And McCain? well, I reserve my comment but you can judge for yourself.

IT IS JOHN McCAIN WHO HAS SAID THAT EVEN WITH THE FAULTY INTELLIGENCE (LIES) HE WOULD STILL HAVE VOTED TO INVADE IRAQ.
THIS IS EVEN WHEN JOHN McCAIN KNOWS THAT OVER 4000 U.S SOLDIERS HAVE DIED IN THE WAR!!!
THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL TERRIBLE JUDGEMENT, HOW THE HELL COULD JOHN McCAIN SAY THAT KNOWING THAT 4000 US SOLDIERS DIED, HE WOULD STILL MAKE THE SAME DECISION TO GO TO WAR WITH IRAQ AGAIN, EVEN WITH THE FAULTY INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION!!

Becky, I want you to get this into your head. Losing a war has nothing to do with the reasons given to start the war.
That was George W. Bush’s war and I think it was stupid of him to start the war.
However, at this point, there is a situation. USA cannot simply walk away from Iraq without winning. Losing is not an option for most of us. Of course, Obama would like to win this election by removing troops from Iraq even if it means losing a war.
However, I am not sure what Obama does. He is trying to get elected. May be he will refine his policies after getting elected. He may claim situation has changed and he cannot remove troops. He has zero credibility. Obama is a politician. The worst kind. If you are a young person, then my advise to you is to see what Obama does, not what he says.

Some One: Why do you want us to stay in Iraq. The war was started because they were supposedly in control of WMD. There were none. We aren’t even at war. We are occupying the place. One day, we will have to leave. It’s not going to be the 51st state. So why should we stay for another 5-6 years? Why not get the hell out of there as fast as possible? There’s an Iraqi government in place, there’s an Iraqi police force in place, let them be.

Some One how can you lose a war that was already won????? Did you lose your mind??? Our military defeated the Iraq army commanded by Sadam and his sons. Sadam was hung and is grave yard dead so our Military can come home any day having won the war they were sent to win in Iraq, now we need to finish the one in Afganastan.

McCain: “Obama would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign.”
That’s a rather large assumption, coming from a man who ditched his cancer-stricken first wife to marry a beer-heiress trophy wife.
Obviously, he couldn’t handle the hard battle against cancer that would come with that first marriage. He couldn’t afford the time out of the Senate spotlight to be by his first wife, and bailed out.
Hypocrite.

Thanks to Mccain for bringing up the issue about judgement.
He is going around talking about how right he was about the surge in iraq.
The question about judgement is ‘who was right about preventing the war in the first place?’.

Posted by: Independent | July 22, 2008, 6:54 pm 6:54 pm

McCain is just dodging now that Maliki has endorsed Obama’s position and even Bush is open to a quasi-timetable. McCain will need to answer questions about withdrawal very soon. He must make a palpable shift.

McCain has done nothing throughout his whole campaign thus far but bash Obama and talk about his “war experience.” Saying that Obama “stutters” and is a “liar” only makes me more supportive of the Obama campaign because if that is the best argument tnat a McCain supporter can come up with against Obama I personally think it makes Obama look more competent and revals that the McCain campain is seriously lacking. GO OBAMA ’08!

This talk about being willing to win a war than to win a campaign sounds to me that mccain is effectively saying he is willing to act unilaterally to take the country to war against the wish of the american people.

Senator Obama did not listen to the troops on the ground in Iraq and is going ahead with his preconceived ideas about Iraq. His whole assessment is childish and phony. He certainly is proving he lacks judgment to be the president. He is a pathetic candidate who will do anything to get a few more votes. He is a dud.

If you just reverse the perspective of that comment, you cannot help notice that McCain is fixated with winning the war. What please tell me defines Winning the war? I have never heard a definition of when this is won, except of course Bush’s “Mission Accomplished”
which should have been followed by immediate withdrawal.

An example of Media Bias:
Oh holy Obama, our global savior, our global king tax us into oblivion, destroy our will to fight, make the audacious folks “you know who” pay up!
Get all of us to give the United Nations our hard earned money to blow on whatever folly they wish, give them our sovereignty, disarm us, Oh great Marxist imposter King. Stutter, Stammer, the media will clear it up. Ms. McKinney shines with radiance in your secular incompetence. Oh great audacious folk hater, bring us to our knees so that we might worship you.
Do you think this is biased? If so, do you think the media will start selling relics of Obama’s hair? Where can I buy some of his hair or worn shoes? Is he God or just some lesser demagogue, sort of like Xerxes or Mao?

lying. They are both pathetic.
This war should have never been started

Neither one of the them are man

No, they have to continue their lies

Americans pay for their ignorant mistake. Is it November yet?????

Mary, let’s talk logically. I know this is a foreign concept so I’ll cut you some slack as I explain how it works.
A president is the commander in chief, which means he’s the top person in charge of our military. The president is not obligated to implement all or any advice generals, admirals etc may give him. He sets the mission and they are obligated to carry it out. Pure and simple. Personally I like his preconceived ideas about withdrawing our troops. You prefer that troops stay and die. And I bet you claim to be pro-life, right?

iraq politics analysis up to date

Posted by: haithem | July 23, 2008, 4:45 am 4:45 am

So John Sydney McCain III wants everyone to acknowledge that “the surge” has made Iraq safer and that the commanders on he ground should dictate any withdrawal. But he himself is ignoring the facts on the ground. The Anbar Sunni Awakening and the many awakening councils that followed were well under way BEFORE the escalation known as the surge was even announced. The locals had gotten tired of being used by foreigners, even Muslim foreigners and began to systematically work for their ouster and the stability of their own regions. The addition of 10,000 local police and the cooperation of all of the factions in Anbar province became a model for other provinces. These facts continue to be ignored (and lied about) by McCain so at this point he has zero credibility when it comes to the “facts on the ground” or the notion that “the surge is working”. Besides, a surge is defined as a temporary increase or influx. Since we have 17,000 MORE troops in Iraq now than we did before the surge, this is clearly an escalation and is far from temporary.

Doesn’t matter how we got into the war, fact is we are there, can’t change the past and you’re acting a fool to keep harping on something that can’t be changed. What matters is what we do now and in the future to WIN the war and Obama has proposed NOTHING that would indicate a win. McCain like Bush is wise in choosing to base any withdraw on the conditions on the ground in the combat theaters affected. It’s one of the few things McCain has been right on. Obama on the other hand put out a plan before he even talked about the ground conditions with those in charge, even before setting foot in the theaters of operation. That’s juvenile, actions you expect from teenagers not a president.
For those of you wanting to quote post surge and presurge troop levels, you apparently have no military experience. Such fluctuations are normal as various units are replaced on the battlefield and overlapping dates where arriving units are brought up to speed by departing personel. So drop the rhetoric when you don’t know what you’re talking about. Also, the Surge did work, several Iraqi troop commanders credit the surge with the stabilization of Iraq’s trouble spots. I trust their input more than any politician simply because they were there where the metal met the meat. It’s why the president needs to continue to ignore congress’s press for a timetable and stand firm on a conditions based withdraw, that is the only sensible way to conduct military operations.

Posted by: Norm | July 23, 2008, 11:39 am 11:39 am

The people in Iraq are living normal lives, even though suicide bombings continue? If we have succeeded in Iraq, as McCain said, even though he conceded that Al Qaeda has not been completely defeated, why don’t we start withdrawing troops from Iraq? We did the same thing in Afghanistan, right? We removed most of our troops from Afganistan before Taliban and Al Qaeda were completely defeated, so that we could start the war in Iraq. Why can’t we do the same in Iraq?

Obama needs to stop pretending to be president–it is harming foreign relations. But wait—it is all about him, isn’t it?
Amazing how so many will go for fluff instead of substance. God help the US if Obama “don’t have a clue” wins.
And no, I am not a Republician. I am a proud Independent and more of us are going for McCain because we need true leadership, not fake “change” or a empty image.

Posted by: Jane | July 23, 2008, 1:00 pm 1:00 pm

Jane — “harming foreign relations?” I really don’t think anything Bush has done, especially his foreign relations (including giving his sexually-harrassing shoulder rub to the German Chancellor) can be made worse. Just by meeting with foreign leaders and showing the world that not everyone who puports to speak on behalf of the American people is a kook, Obama has already immeasurably improved our foreign relations. To call what he has said “fluff instead of substance” is to demonstrate either that you haven’t actually listened and comprehended, or that you don’t want to. Why do you view McCain as offering “true leadership?” He has now adopted most of Bush’s policies, completely reversing his prior tendency to be somewhat independent from the neocons and far right.

Barry O is a politician just like all of the other slimy politicians out there. He is adept at spouting platitudes and the media just adores him. At least with McCain I don’t have to worry about the media becoming his propaganda wing.
Also would be nice to be able to disagree without all the race-baiting and apologizing.
Might just have to go with the experienced, smart, veteran, POW, Naval Academy grad on this one.

Oh yes, McCain is so smart. Wants
to keep us in Iraq for 100 years.
Whines all the time about being a POW.
It is a well known fact that Bush and
McCain were at the bottom of their class.
Oh yes Smart!!!
Vote for McCain and get what you deserve
another four years of failed policies
and a another Liar on top of it.
I expect John McCain since he was a
military person to have a heart and
brain and treat our military with dignity, honor and do right by them.
He is another failure as a human being.
Only cares about himself.
AMERICA DESERVES WAY BETTER!!!

Norm your logic has many flaws. Don’t tell us it doesn’t matter how we got into the war. Because it does matter. It shows the kind of faulty judgment McCain would use in the future. McCain’s mentality is stuck in a 60 – 70′s time warp. He is incapable of seeing things in a way that stress diplomacy over military. I want a president that negotiates first and uses our brave troops only as a last resort. McCain simply wants to star in the sequel Cowboy Diplomacy 2 to reprise Bush’s old role.

Posted by: CC | July 24, 2008, 8:47 am 8:47 am

I agree with the previous post by CC. McCain is the same as Bush, but older and not a draft dodger, or ex-drug/alcohol abuser, and he didn’t get ALL his lifetime’s jobs and support from his daddy, just his entry and graduation from the naval academy…. well never mind, McCain is ten times the man Bush is, but who isn’t? My grandmother is 10 times the man Bush is. But calling your opponent a traitor over and over in the national press is a little Bush-like don’t you think? There can’t be enough dopes left in America to make the same mistake THREE times, can there?

For McCain to say that Obama would rather lose a war to win an election is DISGUSTING!!!Any fool that would believe that is SICK!!
And for McCain’s Camp to say that Obama would sit back and watch another holocaust happen is DISGUSTING!! Would really say the darker skin bi-racial candidate would sit back and watch the killing of any human? Any fool that would believe is beyond sick and just plain evil!
But when its said and done! God doesn’t like ugly! If someone has to lie on and demean another candidate in such a way to get to the white house, it says a lot about McCain and his supporters.

I am a independent/libertarian that has watched the Republican party become more and more corrupt and inept since 1980 when they elected a bad actor to run our country head on into the first of many foreign policy and economic crisis. The Democrats and Republicans do not have a whole lot of differences when you cut through the noise, but overall the Democrats have sold out to much less scarier special interests. Wouldn’t you rather have teachers and union members’ hands in the taxpayer pockets than the oil multinationals that are stopping America from advancing energy technology to the 21st century, and defense companies that depend on government welfare for their miserable business of manufacturing overpriced death machines?

Posted by: Bob | July 25, 2008, 9:49 am 9:49 am

Angie and Melissa, you should upset cause Clinton didn’t win!
Well, as a women I can sad that I am sad to hear your stance on McCain vs. Obama. But will we win without you!
By the way, I strongly encourage you to take a look at McCain’s voting record on womens’ right.
Did you know that he voted against early mammograms being covered by insurance companies, equal pay for women (Clinton mentioned that), BC pills being covered by insurance companies (he voted against it twice but can’t rememember)
To every PUMA everywhere, if Clinton wants to come back in 4 or 8 years to run for president. She and you will need Obama supporters to get her there. Be kind to us because Karma can be sick. If you mess over us, we will mess over you!
