McCain: Obama Will Take Away Your Weird Trendy Plastic “Crocs”
In his Denver, Colo., town hall meeting just now, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said that the trade policies of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, will hurt the ability of Americans to sell to foreign markets those weird trendy plastic "Crocs." "Five years ago, the outdoor footwear company, Crocs, was started by a couple of entrepreneurs with a great idea, ingenuity and drive," McCain said. "This former small business now employs 600 people in Colorado alone, and sells over 50 percent of its products in 90 countries around the world. Building barriers to Crocs or any American company’s access to foreign markets will have a devastating effect on our economy and jobs, and the prosperity of American families." Watch the VIDEO HERE. Obama isn’t “pandering” – he is just being pragmatic. There is a difference. You can read for yourself what the definitions of these two words are. Look in the dictionary. Very informative. And as for his “flip-flopping”, consider it a good thing that he will change his mind and does so. We wouldn’t want another “stay the course” guy, now would we? Look where that has gotten us.

(that’s what Obama means by “change”)…
Obama wants to tell you what you can drive, what you can eat, and what you can set your thermostat on. Well, he’ll tell you what you can do AFTER he asks the rest of the world’s permission!
Keep your freedoms. Say no to the Obama nanny state. Vote McCain.

Geece, flip flopping after years is one thing. Flip flopping within a month’s time and all the while voting “present” on most controversial issues MEANS SOMETHING ELSE.
It means Obama doesn’t want you to know where he stands.
It means he won’t be president.

“McCain is right. Obama is all for himself. Why is he trying to pander to the right now.”
Where do you guys get this stuff? Do they sell this stuff a trade shows? It’s really unfortunate that most Americans do not understand politics; yet they’re quick to formulate and spread faulty logical opinions. There ought to be law that requires Americans to pass a logic reasoning test prior to becoming registered voters.

I now know why I am VOTING McCain!
Proposed changes in taxes after 2008 General election:
CAPITAL GAINS TAX
MCCAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000
per home (couples) McCain does not
propose any change in existing
home sales income tax.
OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home sales
How does this affect you?
If you sell your home and make a profit, you
will pay 28% of your gain on taxes.
If you are heading toward retirement
and would like to down-size your
home or move into a retirement
community, 28% of the money you
make from your home will go to taxes. This
proposal will adversely affect the
elderly who are counting on the income
from their homes as part of their retirement income.
DIVIDEND TAX
MCCAIN 15% (no change)
OBAMA 39.6%
How will this affect you?
If you have any money invested in stock
market, IRA, mutual funds,
college funds, life insurance, retirement
accounts, or anything that pays
or reinvests dividends, you will now
be paying nearly 40% of the money
earned on taxes if Obama become president.
The experts predict that ‘higher
tax rates on dividends and capital gains
would crash the stock market yet
do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.
INCOME TAX
MCCAIN (no changes)
Single making 30K – tax $4,500
Single making 50K – tax $12,500
Single making 75K – tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K – tax $18,750
Married making 125K – tax $31,250
OBAMA
(reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)
Single making 30K – tax $8,400
Single making 50K – tax $14,000
Single making 75K – tax $23,250
Married making 60K – tax $16,800
Married making 75K – tax $21,000
Married making 125K – tax $38,750
Under Obama your taxes will
more than double!
How does this affect you? No explanation
needed. This is pretty
straight forward.
INHERITANCE TAX
MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)
OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax
How does this affect you? Many families
have lost businesses,
farms and ranches, and homes
that have
been in their families
for generations because they could not
afford the inheritance tax.
Those willing their assets to loved
ones will not only lose them to
these taxes.
NEW TAXES BEING PROPOSED BY OBAMA
* New government taxes proposed on
homes that are more than
2400 square feet
* New gasoline taxes (as if
gas weren’t high enough already)
* New taxes on natural resources
consumption (heating
gas, water, electricity)
AVOID THE PAIN VOTE MCCAIN!

Old fashioned, protectionism has never worked.
The “Red China” under Chairman Mao had 100% product made and bought within that country, but resulted only in poverty. When trade, even partially, was allowed, it resulted in the 3rd largest economy today.
It was simply a most recent example, taking place in front of your eyes, without circumventing the laziness of learning American history.

Fortunately, I am not running for president, and I do not have to devise a strategy for BO to explain to the good people why NAFTA is good in a global picture of the economy. Yet, protectionism is surely to bring you even worse pain in your lives and in the lives of the entire country.
It, nevertheless, does not demiss the importance of basic principles, and there are smarter and braver candidates who were squeezed out by BO and companies.

Perhaps all of you don’t understand how dependent we are on the rest of the world buying what we have. It is not just us buying theirs.
That is not protectionist.
Do you all understand what voting for McCain does for the American “brand”.
Think for once.
Think about all those people who use to say I will only buy an American car.
Across the world there was a time when “buying American” meant you were buying a piece of America.
That concept does not work so well when our own approval rating is as low as Bush’s…
anyone who has traveled outside this country knows most of the world is waiting… they say “we don’t blame America…we blame Bush…America made a mistake electing him”
to them a vote for McCain is a vote for Bush…and suddenly it is not Bush that is the problem…it is actually the country.
Do you all get that?
duh.

Your pain might be tens or hundreds people’s gain. The question is how your “leaders” can help you to find a newer, better job, to train you, and to prepare you for that better job.
The problem is that they, including Obama, have failed you, in that rather than proposing and developing ideas to create, create not save old – new jobs for you, BO spent his 3 years in the Senate making plans to deceive people to win an election.
Ask what might happen if BO had spent 100% of his time to devise a strategy, being as smart as he is, to create jobs for people like you.
What did he do? Nothing. Zero. Accomplished not a single thing good for the people of Illinois that he represent, or the people of the entire country that he is supposed to serve.

You meant “controlled economy”, “planned economy”?
Which part of capitalism taught you “trade to protect jobs and everyone”?
Which part of “Made in China” is unfair; simply because perhaps labor is cheaper in that country?
What about Innovation in America so that you will have jobs? What Innovation does BO have? He even dismiss the future energy resource, nuclear power, by having no research nor innovation nor creation in the next 10 years.
Posted by: skinny dog | July 7, 2008, 3:57 pm 3:57 pm
Maybe John McCain wants to take a closer look at the guy who founded crocs (western brands a little closer)
this was taken from an artivle a year and a half ago in Forbbes…this is the guy they wanted to give that loan to.
Other woes abound. In May George B. Boedecker, Crocs’ cofounder, largest shareholder and former chief executive, abruptly resigned from the board the same week he was arrested on an accusation that he threatened to slit his brother-in-law’s throat over his sister’s nasty divorce.
Perhaps more worrisome for the company, in a recent SEC filing auditors found “material weaknesses” in Crocs’ internal controls and financial reporting for the years 2002–04.
that’s right give the little company a break
bad example Mr. McCain

China’s products and manufacturing are cheaper because you have overwhelming lapses in labor standards.
So not only do American workers get hurt with the trade policies as they are…but so do the workers of China.

BIG DISCREPANCY IN MCCAIN’S BUDGET COMMENT HE MADE TODAY.
On April 15 McCain backed off a February pledge to balance the budget in his first term. John McCain in an interviewed with Michael Cooper of The New York Times said that McCain said “at a news conference … that ‘economic conditions are reversed’ and that he would have a balanced budget within eight years.” Just today McCain said he would balance the budget in four years and McCain advisers admitted that the document is a “repackaging” of previous policies. Why hasn’t the press and media call McCain a flip flop since he stated in previous interviewed he would balance the budget in eight years?
— What is the different between “repackaging” and “reshaping”? I don’t see any media going frenzy about McCain’s budget discrepancy. McCain can “repackage”, but Obama should not reshape his policies on Iraq.

Who said I would support McCain? But, at least, on nuclear energy, McCain is better prepared, although not enough, than BoO. Obama has no idea on this issue. He is only bogged down by the petty problem of “disposing waste” to water down restrictions because some company contributed to his election campaign.
Have some new ideas, Innovation, to solve the small inconvenience of “nuclear waste”. With 10%, or even 1%, what you have spent in Iraqi, there will certainly be a solution. Carry it to the Sun if you have to.
What BhO does? Nothing in the next 10 years. Do you think you really have the time to waste, talking about waste?

Unfortunately, if he had used even 50% his smartness in the US Senate in the past 3.5 years, he might have had helped to create some jobs for the people like rodney and linda n carolina and ANGIE.
Yet, he used his smartness in the wrong place.

Skinny Dog: Come on; I want to see you dish on McCain for not doing anything the last 4 years.Tell us all the great things McCain has done the last 8 years except vote with Bush 90%.

China’s products and manufacturing are cheaper because you have overwhelming lapses in labor standards.
and Obama has lots of energy plans…

What labor standards you decry? Be a man, stand up, and fight and compete. Why would one act like BhO – it’s all other people’s fault? Finding your way of competing is a better thing to do than whining.
Obama only has lots of energy plans to air his unsubstantial feeling-good speeches. Name a single accomplishment he has made as a US senator, or as an adult?

we need nuclear power but
Mccain oy…
McCain’s plans call for 45 nuclear power plants and their waste removal to be built in the next 20 years.
45 NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS!
When we haven’t built or successfully figured out how to get high marks on security with many that we already have…and their is no simple solution to it’s waste… and McCain has not offered any plan as to how all those power plants waste is going to be stored.
Is it ALL going to Yucca mountain? How is that ALL going to be transported across from these regional plants? or is he planning on having ALL these plants built and approved in the desert to charge the whole country?
45 nuclear power plants…
and why don’t you look at all the ones that have closed because the upkeep was too expensive…and all the waste that is sitting in those abandoned plants.
we have 100 plants in this country in the past 60 years…
the average for an accident right now is about 1 in a 1000. You like those odds near you?
45 PLANTS IN 20 YEARS…
McCain is once again pandering to people who don’t know enough to know he blowing smoke or just incredibly dumb and dangerous.

competing mewans we compete on level ground… they need us to buy
(we needed them to buy and we needed them to want us to buy over the past 8 years that we have already screwed up)
we need to be in that market but we need to have more power in influencing how their markets will evolve…
both for Americans and all the peoples’(children) of those countries who have not yet been able to hold their governments to the standards that we believe as a nation should be inalienable rights.

if we suddenly say that we have to switch such a large section of our power resource to nuclear…
how much harder is it for us to tell rogue nations they can not.
Nuclear is in the mix…but McCain is going for simple campaign statements that could backfire enormously on so many levels…
that is not what we need in the President.

McCain is no concern of me. He has had enough record to show what he could do and is capable of. He is more likely than not to collaborate with the dems congress to do a few good things.
As to Obama, he is a known unknown. He scares the hell out of me, to be manipulated. It is almost certain that anything he wants to do will be fillabustered in the Senate – nothing get accomplished as his record shows.

Oh brother! Another example of McCain doing the Bush/Rove tango and making lame stupid comments that are supposed to upset people. When are these yahoos going to learn that THIS ELECTION is about more than that same old swill they’ve been peddling since Gingrich? This election needs to be about REAL issues. The American people are going to be stupid again and vote for someone based upon who they want to have a beer with. The stakes are too high and the people of this country realize that. Wake up McSame! And Wake-up MSM and realize that you’re boring the crap out of your news viewers with this same old rehashed tripe. Give us news we can REALLY USE!

I wonder if McCain has flag pin charm on his “crocs” since it isn’t on his lapel.

McCain is the source of a great deal of serious concerns. His mental stability is questionable. He can’t remember squat. His physical health is very questionable. His shoulders, skin and joints are shot. His moral values are nonexistent. He lies until a video is put in his face. He has a very foul mouth and and uncontrollable temper. He cheats on wives then up grades to the latest model.

I think McCain’s image handlers are trying to update him by bringing in the crocs. I’m sure he thought beforehand that crocs were reptiles of the river, or could refer to the crocodile tears his surrogates cried when anyone questioned how his POW experience related to executive decision making.

Jesus, are you all ever gonna stop fighting? It IS obvious, McCain is goin to win, finish the fight in Iraq, give this country decent nuclear power, and revive the nations economy.

God forbid, if we don’t have any dangerous plastic shoes to wear (read about accidents involving people’s feet getting chewed up by escalators when wearing Crocs and flip-flops). They’re cute on kids, but I don’t understand why adults wear them. I don’t care how comfortable they are, they’re as good looking as Birkenstocks, and I definitely would not date a guy who wears them.

Man, don’t you people get it?? We need more nuke plants so we can turn the depleted uranium into weapons so we can start more wars and contaminate more countries with our depleted uranium. Iraq and Iran will be the new Yucca mountain!
It is also a VERY smart idea to put these little nuke terror targets all over the country because nothing says “don’t bomb me and cause mass contamination” like a operational nuke plant.
