McClellan on the Podcast
EmailScott McClellan came by the ol’ ABC News Shuffle Podcast today (listen HERE) to chat about the personal toll the reaction to his critical book "What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception" has taken on him.
We also discussed how he as press secretary hammered the tell-alls of other former colleagues, why he didn’t speak out against the problems he saw at the Bush White House while he worked there, why he thinks Karl Rove was bad for President Bush, and how he’s torn between Sens. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, and John McCain, R-Ariz.

Yes, I agree. That McCain is just another phony in a long, long list of Bush administration phonies.

You were able to ask McClellan about why he didn’t criticize his employer while receiving a paycheck from said employer with a straight face? Guess that’s why you made it to the top of the pile and get the big Disney bucks, Jake. (We don’t expect you, Jake Tapper, to criticize ABC or Disney while on their payroll, after all). Weren’t those of us who didn’t go to J-school taught that that’s unprofessional in any line of work? Understandably, however, unprofessional disloyal “leak jockies” are a reporter’s bread and butter. But don’t expect any of us to admire the Scott McClellan’s of the world even if reporters need and value them.

Scott remained in the Bush administration for quite some time. If he thought they were doing bad things, especially if he thought they were breaking laws, he should have resigned much earlier.

I suppose it’s difficult at best, to know confidently what is or is not against the law in this administration. The boss kind of makes it up as Cheney tells him to.
Don’t believe for one minute that Bush is this smart. He’s not. He’s the same puppet that McRerun will be.
