Obama Wants To Be Absolutely Clear on Who Is Israel’s Friend

"Let me be absolutely clear," Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, said today at a press conference in Amman, Jordan. "Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. It will be a strong friend of Israel’s under a McCain…administration. It will be a strong friend of Israel’s under an Obama administration. So that policy is not going to change."

How true.

You can not believe obama on Israel, as you cannot believe obama on any issues.
obama has been and always will be a supporter of Palestines, he sympathizes with them, obama’s advisors sympathizes with them, (see — good friend of obama, Rashid Khalidi)
obama is a liar and a phony.

Oooh, what a gaffe! Kind of like not understanding the border between Pakistan/Afghanistan, mistaking Shia for Sunni, and referring to Czechoslovakia. This gaffe shows that Obamas foreign policy credentials are non-existent, while McCain is a foreign policy GENIUS!

Jake I saw that on c-span… I was just glad Hagle and reed didn’t step up and correct him…I think everyone knew he was saying the US is a good friend of Israel’s…
but it was funny.

No wonder they don’t let him talk. The humble one might need some aviator shades for his mouth.
Will his next act be to blow a banquet, throw up in Merkel’s lap? One can only hope.

obama wants to give birth to a Palestine Nation—and strongly supported by Rashid Khalidi—-Khalidi was one of the main people who brought Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Columbia Unv/NYC to Speak (MAJOR SYMPHATHIZER OF PALESTINES)
obama thinks he’s as wise as to bring peace to the Middle East—not only is he so arrogant—he is just as naive….
Does he think all the efforts put forth to the peace process hasn’t been made?…….really—is this obama this ARROGANT??

Jake you could atleast mention how good the rest of the press conference was…lol
and what he said about Israel and Palestine…I thought it was incredibly well said…besidesthe part about Israel loving itself I mean…lol
I thought Obama is getting to sound like the obama I saw in NH at small q and a’s across the state.
really reallly smart…crazy smart.
oh to finally have a crazy smart president…rather than crazy aggresive.

no Obama thinks he represents to a lot of europe and asia…a world chapter change… a moment where the world leader…America…actually had the brains to move us into a new chapter giving them a possible chance to breathe and look at their challenges (still there) at the beginning of a last chapter before the resolution.
that’s not arrogance (and even if it was who cares) …we need people in these conflicts to have every opportunity to take a breath and think that they can look at this with a new chance for it to work.
maybe you should try listening to what Obama is saying and not jump on what you are looking for.
one offers hope and one offers fear…

Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. It will be a strong friend of Israel’s ……
I think this is what obama really meant.
Because in the same speech, he mentions how everyone should “look in the Mirror” for the horrors over there, which in turn is really a message to his friend Rashid Khalidi that he has his support.

While this is a mis-statement…it is also quite true. I support Israel’s right to exist, and appauld their efforts.
However, I don’t much like that they have spies stealing our military secrets, and that they are taking some pretty odious steps with their neighbors.
It is time to realise that Israel needs change to live in harmony with their neighbors, and the US needs to back these changes and bring justice to the entire region.

Israel is like us, the U.S., they don’t kill their women for honor, nor to they prevent their women from going to school and educating themselves with whatever choices they want, and they don’t demand their women covered up head to toes like walking drapes.
Palestine does not.
They are still in the dark ages.
But we are a free nation, and allow everyone to continue living in their believe as long as they aren’t killing others who don’t.
obama is not secure in his belief that Israel and their existance in the Middle East is as important to us as he should—there is alot of doubt to obama’s sincerity to Israel’s cause.

I completely agree with your assessment. Somebody writes his “pretty words”, but when left on his own, he looks like a dufus. It is a perfect example of symbolism above substance. It is where “good intentions” count even when no actions result. BO is a typical political sleeze – the only “change” he’s hoping for is his change of address and his resume. For those of you who are wondering what drugs the Obamaniac Disciples have been taking in order to believe that he is some eloquent speaker, you simply have to hear the 8 minute tape that Rush Limbaugh’s engineer made of Obama’s non-press “press conference” in Iraq.
I heard 45 seconds of no-repeat clips and just about died laughing in my car today. It is non-stop nonsense -”uh”, “aahhh”, “wweeeelllll”, “eerrr”, mixed in with some idiotic, repetitive and meaningless hemming and hawing.
This guy couldn’t stand up and fake his way through freshman English. He is single-handedly making the Harvard Law Review into a new National Joke.

This guy is a mess!!!!His statement was garble. He didn’t even make sense. This is another one like “57 states”.
The media are criminals for not vetting this guy and for being misogynists. And the DNC are eletion rigging thugs. The corporate money influencing this primary election has completely corrupted the process. This whole thing is a nightmare!!!!

I want to know who/what is propping OBAMA up????? If someone doesn’t vote for OBAMA, they are a hater…gee, could there be any other reasons for not wanting him as our President. He speaks in riddles and mumbo jumbo. He sends fake interviews to the press. HE IS A TOTAL PROP. LISTEN TO HIM.

Posted by: bpower | July 22, 2008, 11:21 pm 11:21 pm

The only card he has left in his sleeves is when he is rejected, he’ll hurl the race card. People won’t vote for him because he’s a racist, but not because he’s a fraud, an otherwise babbler, a thug, and an elitist. Please, if he didn’t have the MSM propping him up and people voting for him only because of his skin color, he would have been back to his street activist gig! As much as I despise Clinton, he was always prepared, gave great speeches even when the teleprompter failed. BO will come back and claim he’s a friend of Israel, knows foreign policy like the back of his hand, and demand a parade…

It’s funny to see Obama channeling Bush Jr. But it’s scary too. Somehow we let Bush get elected, er, selected — and look where Bush’s idiocy got us.
We’ve still got till Aug 25 to get an intelligent, electable person nominated: Hillary. Let’s not let the nomination go like we did the 2000 non-count in Florida.

it would have helped if the DNC super delegates had selected the qualified, experienced candidate instead of another bush

It is quite clear that Mr. Obama point out a basic fact:
Israel will do what is good for Israel,
regardless of what is going on in the USA.
His comment goes back to an often asked question: ‘Is it good for Israel?’ or ‘Is it good for the Jews?’
A pragmatic wisdom put into action:
‘Israel is a strong friend of Israel.’

Wow! To think I’m a Democrat. What a shame the DNC gives us a complete idiot to vote for. Well, guess what DNC, I been through 8 years of a idiot and this country cannot sustain another 4 years with Bush of a different color. First time in my life that I will not vote for my party. This guy is such a farce it actually scares me.

Posted by: dave | July 23, 2008, 6:32 am 6:32 am

And the late night folks say there is nothing funny about this guy! This guy may be President of all “57 states” for the “next 10 years”.

Posted by: JERRY | July 23, 2008, 9:11 am 9:11 am

I’m so happy to hear that Israel supports Israel. I was really worried for a while there . . . thought israel might decide to support Iran, or Pakistan, or Afghanistan. The worst part of this “mis-speak” is that the American retarded-media are still fawning over this guy. Makes you want to scream at them; “what part of “stupid” don’t you get?”

Posted by: Lynn | July 23, 2008, 9:54 am 9:54 am

We are moving into a communist state. Obama sold himself as change, and this guy is the direct opposite of why people voted for him in the primaries.
Look at this trip and how he censored the press. Change you can believe in?????
OMG – this is one of the scariest characters in our history to run for President. It borders on bizarre that he made it this far.

Barack Obama’s 300 Spartans (Advisors)?
It seems that you claim to be truthful and advocate CHANGE, and yet you enlist 300 soldiers, (advisors) to give advice on “as the world turns”, is quite alarming. If you sir, need 300 paid advisors to help you make a decision then you have not done your homework. You have managed to create your own independent congress of people that are burning thru your $5.00 internet donations like sand thru an hour glass. It alarms me that if THEY decide to place you in that office, your staff would double?
If your 300 were like the Spartans and lead by a leader like King Leonidas , of which you are not, then your 300 advisors are justified.
But in this case they are not.
You wish to be the President of the United States of America, and yet you still lie, you hire an outrageous staff of succubus’s that have their own interests, you do not attend to the poor, you are too concerned with keywords and false policy that fool those that really want CHANGE, you cannot stroll thru an American neighborhood unless you have your SS officers with you, not allowing Americans to protect you, you are so concerned that you will say the wrong thing, because you are not allowed to speak your own words, you have taken from the American people their hard earned $5.00 and given them nothing in return, you have no idea how big and deep the rabbit hole is that you have started to go down. The 300 Spartans defended their freedom and their Homeland, and you sir, are defending those that wish to rape the land and enslave Americans like Xeres attempted to do.
You are making policy on the run, without regard to the outcome, and we Americans will suffer for your mistakes and blunders.
These next four years will be yours, but the next four years after that will be for the American People.
CHANGE FOR AMERICA FOR AMERICANS!
The American Republic
A Sovereign Republic

This is what happens when you speak from both sides of your mouth! This is better than Dan Quayle’s “potatoe”! Proves again that you can be senile even at 47! Lol!

Everytime someone (usually MSM) says that Obama speaks so eloquently, I laugh. Virtually every time he speaks extemporaneously, which is when he is asked a question where he wasn’t supplied the answer in advance, he sounds like a bumbling fool. No wonder he backed out on his promise to debate John McCain ‘anytime, anywhere’. What a joke.

Pretty sad to see how many people have fallen for O-Bush. I’ll never vote for him. No one knows where he really stands…now Obama loves Israel. Obama has been pro-Palestine for a few deaceds in Chicago, oh, I forgot–those are not the activities and thought he knew for 20 years.
What a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Israel supports Israel.
YA! I KNOW!

Posted by: kat in your hat PUMA | July 23, 2008, 3:55 pm 3:55 pm

FlaLady – Excellent point! The fact is, it’s hard to speak eloquently off the cuff when (1) someone else writes your speeches, and (2) it’s hard to speak clearly and with conviction when you can’t disclose your real values; instead, the emphasis is to pick your words carefully to be sure that it fits the audience even if it is a lie. It’s sad. He’s campaigning as someone who is “different.” Yeah, right.

Er, sure. Do you have a deep philosophical gloss for the 57 states, the 8-10 years in office, the Great Lakes of Oregon, the dead soldiers that he saw in the audience…?
Let’s justsaynodeal to Bush III. PUMA.

REmember the wonderful old movie Topkapi? Ustinov got an Oscar for playing the inept con man Arthur Simpson, who often made gaffes like this.
With politicians it’s easy to pass this sort of thing off as minor, not sporting to focus on. But look at the people who have this problem: Bush Jr, Dan Quayle, Obama….
Maybe it’s a sign of being too focused on your image or your delivery to pay attention to the content of your words. That is, of dishonesty. Or forgetting your lines because someone else wrote them for you, you’re just trying to do what your handlers told you to….

The worrisome thing about the Brave New World
as see through O’s wavery looking glass
is not that, in a possibly intended gaffe
(he’s capable of inuendo, we’ve seen that)
Israel is the friend of Israel
it’s that, In Obama’s warped world view,
America is NOT the friend of…America
At least, from the comments they make,
HIS Americans…aren’t.

Just what do these visits to these countries have to do with the election in November? Just more opportunities to make a fool of himself. Bring it on BHO. We need some good laughs in these times.

Barack Obama as next President of The United States of America
The die is cast and for reasons that only a privileged few know, you Sir, will be the next President of the United States of America. Your next 4 years will be a turning point in US history and planet earth. CHANGE, your advisors and high stake investors offer the nation will undoubtedly be the same rhetoric and empty promises that make up a political campaign, that campaigns for appointment for any public office in America.
The White House will be the Black House to some, the Aryan Brothers of America will not be so happy, but yet will blame you and your staff if you fail, which will reinforce their belief that the Aryan Nation is the true leader for America. The religious zealots will be busy bees making nests to survive the onslaught of lies, corruption and deceit. Business enterprises and other competing nations will capitalize off of your inexperience in the art of corruption and murder. The organized crime organizations from different nations including our own will benefit from the lack of control over national crime.
Military governments including our own will test your tolerance to pain and deception and trick you into needless and profitable domestic and international conflict. You will no doubt attempt to colorize your staff to soften the race conflict once in office.
As President you will be President. Nations will respect you only for your title of office. Americans will soon see after your appointment as President that your intentions were manipulated by those that make the rules. You will fill the spot in history as planned, and nothing more.
You will never while in office be able to pull the troops from conflict in any land we are engaged in. As a matter of fact we as a nation will be engaged in a new conflict of war, which will galvanize Americans to seek a different form of government and a different and honest Congress.
You will attempt to shore up Americas problems with false promise and lies, because you cannot directly affect the CHANGE you promised.
Your frustration will be your downfall while in office, and your co-dependence on those that you trust will also add to your demise.
Our Armed Forces in rank will respect you as good soldiers they are, but those under them will not, and for good reasons, that only a good soldier knows.
America will not be America until its government respects the People, and tells the truth. America is a Republic, not a Democracy or Fascist Government or is it?
Until you can walk thru the streets and neighborhoods of America unaided by Secret Service or any other law enforcement agency you will not be respected by the many, only by the fearful and selfish few. Americans can protect their leaders if they are honest and respectful of the people they were elected to serve. Our Government has forsaken us for many hundreds of years, and now we will wait until your 4 years are finished for us to come to fruition.
CHANGE FOR AMERICA FOR AMERICANS!
The American Republic
A Sovereign Republic
