The Candidates and Crocs
EmailRegarding Sen. John McCain’s Pro-Croc position as outlined earlier today, some supporters of both McCain and Sen. Barack Obama have weighed in via email. Notes a McCain fan: "They’re very good footwear…Good in water and land. Not to mention, they have a global market, employ a lot of people, and pay a business tax rate that is the 2nd highest in the world!" I am an Obama supporter and I wear Crocs every day. I am wearing some red ones right now and also have sea-blue and yellow. Let’s not cede the Crocs vote to the Republicans. They are comfy and comfortable. Footwear we all can agree on.
On the trade side, however, I definitely am seeing a lot more Croc knockoffs around than actual genuine Crocs, which cost more. Is the US version truly prevailing overseas against cheap imitations?

If “McCain is NO George Bush” please differentiate their policies on Iraq, the economy, Health care, abortion, Supreme Court justices, drilling etc

Smart guy as Webb has always shown. It shows some judgment. Distance as far as you can without being too obvious.

I know I have been saying biden for months as inevitable (and I liked Webb) but McAuliffe came out today and predicted the same thing.
I am pretty sure it is a done deal…he brings too much to the table not to.

I don’t think Biden would be a good choice. He’s not from a battle ground state (Obama will win PA regardless of what the pundits say). I don’t see it. He’s ran for the presidency 3x and failed each time. He has the experience but what group would he carry to the ticket. I’m not sold on Biden.

and running for VP is very different than President.
I tell you I knew it when I saw them in NH. They both are consistent on the measure of “diplomacy is the problem” not military force.
It’s “easy” for the US to occupy…it’s not easy to establish self sufficience in a government that is not pushed.

Biden is a reasonable choice, Vanessa. Obama has real credibility problems with the people he has to win to win. Biden brings horse-sense to the table and is a straight talker.
It is easy to overthink the math of the campaign, keep going after niches and lose the confidence of the voters because they can’t track all the shifts in position. Biden has the charm that he was consistent in his own campaign message even if it wasn’t what people wanted to hear. Obama keeps saying only what he needs to say to get this or that niche. The overall perception is he has no center even if sweetly perfumed.
If not Clinton then Biden will do. He will have to do something soon or his numbers will slip even after the convention and he may not be able to come back from that.

His presidency has been catastrophic, like his fashion sense. Though I like the picture because he’s brought down to the level of a goofy schmuck. So now, will my critique survive the examination of an erstwhile blog censor?
