A Line That Probably Sounded Tougher to Obama Than It Did to McCain

"I am a big believer in winning," said Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, in Raleigh, NC, tonight. "I don’t intend to lose this election…John McCain doesn’t know what he is up against right now."

Why isn’t anyone covering Obama’s abortion lies and the flap surrounding it? Obama claims it’s “offensive and insulting” to say he lied about it. That’s pretty powerful stuff to be completely ignored.

Someone has a pretty lofty sense of one’s self.
“How dare you oppose the Obamessiah, McCain??!!?? You know not what you face!!!”

Jake can weigh in, but I think that story has trememdous legs where it counts. At some point the media will have no choice but to cover it.

It has been a joy watching the women’s gymnastics in the Olympics, tumbling, twisting, dancing, dreaming of gold. Obama does the same, ducking, hiding, bobbling in political gymnastics. He is a great showman.

What a sense of entitlement! An unknown, with no record, or experience, with a questionable, radical and racists inner circle whose only real drum beat is “how bad the USA is, not how great it is”. It need to “change”!
This is not the type of character that represents us as americans…..
It has also recently been pointed out that obama really doesn’t have a truly american history and experience…
Kenyan heritage
muslim father
attended muslim schools as a child
attended Harvard through his kenyan ties
DOES THIS GUY EVEN KNOW WHAT APPLE PIE, BASEBALL, HUNTING, FISHING HOME COOKING…..ETC REALLY IS ALL ABOUT?
He just doesn’t relate!!!!
Lets put an american in the white house!
Hillary and McCain are true Americans.

As my earlier post was removed…McCain does know what he’s up against…a guy who should be ahead by double digits, especially after Hillary dropped out, after his world tour…let’s hope he gets a “bump” out of the convention next week…but Mondale was ahead by 14 at this point in the race.

She won’t own up to the fact that she has a sister thatn lives in a modest home in Arizona. She was left $10,000 when their father died and Cindy has millions. There is a lot people don’t know about the McCains.

Obama will win this election, and McCain can go back to cheating on his wife, like he did to his previous wife, and left her in the kids for a woman 25 years younger than him, yes if you haven’t noticed Cindy McCain is 25 years younger than John McCain, he makes me sick.

Putsky, that’s a little bit too harsh, but I respect your sentiment. That being said, I have been one of the biggest Obama bashers, accusing him of being an elitist, especially after his San Francisco comments. After hearing him discuss his philosophy with Rick Warren I’ve decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. This will truly come down to who we want in office to make supreme court appointments, which I suppose is a higher pay grade than the Presidency. This country is split exactly 50-50 on that question, and the candidate’s personality doesn’t have anything to do with the question. I see McCain as way wrong for the country on Supreme Court appointments. I respect that others see it exactly the opposite. If McCain takes it I hope that the Supremes will hold on for four years until the baton passes to Hillary. I actually think that Hillary and Obama would appoint the same caliber people.

It is amazing how the same people who call abortions evil won’t speak out against unprovoked war.
Don’t you think babies and children die when bombs fall and bullets fly?
Do you have any idea of how many children go hungry every day, even in the U.S.? In 2006 12 million children lived in households with food ‘insecurity’. In other words without enough food for the family. I’m sure it is a much higher number now with the higher costs for fuel and rising food prices. And that is just in our country. So if someone truly cares about babies and children, they should be concerned about helping these hungry families.
Obama’s plans for our country are sound and will help our middle-class and poor fellow citizens have a better life. This is truly the only way to have a strong country.

Lydia,
Well said with regards to respect for human life. However, I don’t think Obama has the corner on this one, though. Either McCain or Obama will look out for protecting Americans. McCain is no doubt the more experienced one in this regard, though, when it comes to dealing with military types of threats. For allocating out justice in the Homeland Obama may be a better choice.

Obama must really think he can SMILE his way into the Oval Office …
If America votes Obama for their President, America will have proven to the rest of the world that we are a stupid bunch of people.
No other country in the world will hand their nation to someone whose true beliefs and whose true patriotism is in question. No other country in the world will elect a President who is as inexperienced in every area starting from foreign policies, economic issues and the list goes on.
No other country in the world will hand over their country to a man driven ONLY by personal AMBITION with no hard work to show for …
Obama is someone who wants to be awarded the GOLD medal WITHOUT having done the hard work to deserve it.
Vote Obama and show the rest of the world just how gullabla and plain “stupid” Americans really are.

Putsky,
The general election is not a caucus, so you can put your complaint back in the holster. It really is the Democrat’s turn, in fairness, after eight years of watching our tax monies burn at the hands of a Republican administration. We went from a Democratic balanced budget to a nine trillion dollar Republican debt. At this point anybody that votes for another Republican is not voting in the common interest. End of story.

Not that I want to argue Obama’s case, but he did make a good case for speaking up against genocide, human trafficking, unjust wars, and providing educational resources so that more women would not have abortions. Frankly, I don’t hear the right speaking up on these important issues of human life, which I think is truly a moral failure. Isn’t it time that you show some consistency in your position?

Both McCain and Obama want to bridge the gap between both parties, so just smearing the character of either candidate is stupid. I am an Obama supporter but I’m not going to attack McCain. The only reason you should criticize a candidate is because of their policies, not because they’re un-American.

Lydia, unprovoked war? After 12 years of diplomatic efforts to pressure Saddam Hussein to comply with the conditions of the 1991 cease fire; and after the UN Security Council decided not to follow through on its final ultimatum; President Bush offered his own final ultimatum. When Saddam Hussein still refused to comply, President Bush rescinded the cease fire. We resumed that war which began with Saddam Hussein invading Kuwait in 1990.

In the Ohio poll this week, Obama and McCain are tied. Obama had been ahead, but no more. You remember Ohio, big swing state, that Kerry lost to Bush? The one that HIllary beat Obama by more than 10 points? But more enlightening, is that 89% of Repubs in that state support McCain, while only 75% of Dems support Obama.
How pitifully sad, embarrassing, and pathetic, that ONE QUARTER of your own party, doesn’t even support you! What does that tell you, super D’s, about the gross mistake you are about to make? DNC you just made the stupidest error, falling for the hype, and pushing a fraud and loser, who can’t even get support from his own party!!!
LOL! President McCain, count on it.

It’s amazing that the supporters of McCain seem to think this guy has not changed his mind about anything, and IN FACT, he has switched his position on EVERY MAJOR ISSUE to get the support of the right-wing nut cases of the GOP !!!
As usual, the GOP uses themes to describe the opponent. . .and actually it DESCRIBES THEMSELVES !!!! Classic.
One problem this year. . IT WON’T WORK.
There are many progressive internet sites; radio; blogs, etc. . .which EXPOSE McCAIN for the fraud he is. . . .because just because he was a POW, DOES NOT MAKE HIM PRESIDENTIAL.
He has to Earn that position like everyone else. . . .so with his $$$$, and lies, and Corporate lobbyists, he thinks we can’t put it all together !!
Obama may not be the Best candidate, but to continue the superficial, “I’m a legend in my own mind”, Bush administration policies, would be a disaster for this country !!!!!

Character before marketing; country before party. America cannot take another four years with an inexperienced egomaniac as POTUS, especially one who like Bush can’t make a coherent sentence without a teleprompter.
There is absolutely no substantive similiarity between DR Martin Luther King and Obama, or JFK and Obama. (How sad that Ted Kennedy tried to feed us that bullcrap.) MLK and JFK were men of personal courage and experience(like John McCain). They didn’t have trouble talking without a script, because each spoke from their heart about his vision for America (like John McCain).
God bless America and John McCain, the 44th POTUS!

And Obama’s so intent on winning he’s looking for more cash! And let’s see how he’s getting it — by charing fat cats $1,000 for good seats to his coronation speech. And I believe really big donors can lounge about in the luxury seats.
So really, this whole “bring the speech to the people” was more a way to turn his acceptance/coronation speech into a massive fundraiser.
Hmmm, remember how santimonious Obama was about not taking public funding? What a hypocrite.
[[Barack Obama’s big-money donors are being offered premier seats to his acceptance speech at Invesco Field at Mile High, according to information obtained by The Denver Post.
Top fundraisers for the “Obama Victory Fund” were offered club-level seats through the end of Monday for $1,000 apiece. Also, the biggest donors to the Democratic National Convention’s host committee and select VIPs are getting ultra-plush suites at Invesco.
The Obama campaign and its partners at the Democratic National Convention Committee have 8,300 club-level seats. If all were purchased, it could mean a cash infusion of $8.3 million.
That can be added to the million-dollar price tag the DNCC has put on the luxury suites at Invesco. All in all, the acceptance speech delivered by Barack Obama is turning out to be a fundraising bonanza for a party looking to sell out to the kinds of contributors Obama publicly eschewed in June:]]

I know for a fact that Democrats rig elections by busing people to multiple voting sites to vote many times in an election. The UNIONS bus the people who are illegal aliens usually from Mexico. It is all very easy because the people are not required to show identification. These people are very dependent on assistance and they do as told. The UNIONS get huge contracts back from the governement after the election.
This is true becauxe I know a top union man who brags about it. They also bus the people to stores to shop lift. they then buy the stolen goods at half price from them. the union people say they are helping these people earn a living. That the only way for them to earn a living is to steal. So aparently it is good for the unions to help these people steal.

Obama looks pretty, sounds pretty but if you look at how he won his first seat in Illinois by “back stabbing” his opponent and then the people that” I didn’t know them as being like this” now under the wheels of his bus. For all the years we heard the moans and groans of democrats whining about the money republicans had and now seeing box seats to the “well heeled” being sold to Obamas grand acceptance speech – it does my heart good to see hypocrites in action. DemocratNoMore2, you wrote: “Obama’s communist marxist ideology is also getting through to the public.” The latest Reuters/Zogby poll has McCain UP by 5 points!
With years of tutelage from Frank Marshall Davis and later Saul Alinsky; twenty years of mentoring by the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr.; and some spiritual advising by Father Michael Pfleger; it is impossible to believe that Sen. Obama does not share at least some of their radical views.
Wake up America! Do your homework before you vote in November. If you share these radical beliefs then Sen. Obama is your man. The Left will call you a racist for not voting for Sen. Obama. Don’t fall for that! Race has nothing to do with it! If you disagree with these radical ideas and theology, then vote for someone other than Sen. Obama.

I am not charged up over either McCain or Obama.
All of you who blame Bush for you woes the last 8 years should be blaming Congress for the last 2. The last 2 have been the worst.
Pelosi and Harry Reid have done more to ruin this country in the last 2 years than any previous leaders (and I use the term “leaders” loosely) of Congress. NEVER in the history of the USA has Congress had such a low approval rating. So much for the promise of getting things done in the first 100 days.
Pelosi and Reid went on vacation instead of addressing critical issues in Congress. Pelosi has been busy promoting her non-bestseller and welcoming the “blessing that God has sent” to Democrats.
To all of Congress — it is way too partisan. Whoever is in power spends too much time trying to make the other guy look bad and playing “gotcha” so they can win elections, have power and spend tax dollars.
None of them put “America” first. They all put their party first because they want POWER!
Congress has accomplished absolutely NOTHING since the Dem’s took over.

Threatening wrinkly old white haired guys has a way of looking thuggish. Obama doesn’t look the part so the walk and the talk don’ jibe.
Obama looks silly when he tries to get tough. I guess because his being humorless, it is hard to tell the difference. One thing is certain, given recent world events, Americans won’t vote for a guy who can’t make it believable because he is passionless in a fight.

Polls are meaningless, but so are Obama’s answers. uh, uh, you know.

Of course McCain doesn’t have a freaking clue about anything except getting himself elected.
He doesn’t understand the economy. He thinks your middle class if you make 3 million a year. He has 10 mansions, owns his own jet, and shops for shoes like Imelda Marcos.

I have never met so many Hillary supporters in my life. It’s like the whole GOP supports Hillary… Who knew?

The Obama campaign has not really gone after McCain and the Republicans. And there’s plenty to go after, especially McCain pushing for the Iraq war even before Bush. I think they’re saving all their ammo for the fall campaign.

Cincyr, you wrote: “I think they’re (the Obama campaign) saving all their ammo for the fall campaign.”
There is just one more week before the roll call vote. Now that one poll has Sen. McCain up by five, IF others show a similar lead within the next couple of days there may be some vote-switching going on next week. Sen. Clinton only needs about 3 switched votes per state to rob Sen. Obama of the nomination.
You Obama supporters tout Sen. Obama’s great judgment. Sen. Obama should NEVER have allowed Sen. Clinton to have BOTH a speech and a roll call vote. There was nothing he could do to stop a roll call vote since Sen. Clinton had more than the required signatures to place her name in nomination. HOWEVER, Sen. Obama could have told her that she gets one…either the roll call vote OR the speech, but not both. Sen. Obama used his “great judgment” to let the Clintons right back into the picture!

“I am a big believer in winning,” said Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, in Raleigh, NC, tonight. “I don’t intend to lose this election…John McCain doesn’t know what he is up against right now.”

John Mcain is not a presidential material, the WORLD is now in big caos, so we need someone who would NOT start a war, just because we want to as Bush and Mcain did,but let use all other option what we have and we would NOT loose so many Young lives. So people wake up, we had enough of Bush-s and Clintons, we need a new blood in the WHITE HOUSE. Marika from Texas

Marika, how many years would you have wanted us to wait for Saddam Hussein to comply with the conditions of the 1991 cease fire? After 12 years of diplomatic efforts, including sanctions, failed should we have waited another 5? Another 12? And what if it had turned out that he had WMDs and used them once again on his neighbors? The UN Security Council thought 12 years was enough so the gave Saddam Hussein one final ultimatum. HOWEVER, the UN Security Council made it very plain that they would not follow through on their ultimatum. So President Bush made his final ultimatum and kept his word, when Saddam Hussein still refused to comply, by rescinding the 1991 cease fire and resuming the 1991 Gulf War.

Comrade Obama said, we are not allowed to question his patriotism.

Unless you take Obama literally. As in, McCain is so senile he really doesn’t know what he’s up against – in fact he doesn’t know what happened ten minutes ago.
