GOP Lumps Obama With Madonna and Clooney in New Quiz

gop site 080801 blog GOP Lumps Obama With Madonna and Clooney in New Quiz

Seeking to further push the notion that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, is an out-of-touch empty-headed celebrity, the Republican National Committee this morning launched a new interactive website
– where users can guess whether Obama or a member of the glitterati uttered a particular quote.

For instance: "You have only a short period of time in your life to make your mark, and I’m there now."

Was that said by Obama, Madonna, David Beckham or George Clooney?

Or: "Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula?" (Choice: Obama; Cameron Diaz; Jessica Biel; Matt Damon.)

We had our own quiz on this subject yesterday, though we were trying to make a slightly different point.

Once again the GOP doesn’t have a positive agenda what so ever so they in turn try to denigrate Obama.

Obama put this on himself. If Obama participated in the political race as a “normal” candidate it would not be so easy to attack.
Truth is Obama must debate and answer hard questions, if not McCain is right to question his leadership. Do we really want a president afraid of debating? Come November Obama will discover teleprompter debates does not a president make!

Some day, the Republican party will be something to be proud of. Until then, I guess they can alienate George Clooney etal.
Lets talk about empty headed people: McCain vs middle east tribes for 100 Alex.
How about middle east geography for 200.
People who live in glass houses . . . . . . .

By the way, I’m so sick of these polls. They are basically calling the same people over and over again. The error they’re making is that most people have cell phones and they aren’t being polled. This is why the Republican party is terrified! They know that this is race isn’t as close as it’s being reported. Now, I myself am an Obama supporter who does not own a cell phone and I’ve never been called. You have to wonder how many others are out there like me?

I am getting so tired of repulicans and all the stupid ads. Wait till november and see the landslide happen! If anyone has any common sense take a look at where this country is today….Do you really think McCain is interested in the real problems? Take at look at those good ol’ boys and it is time for a BIG CHANGE!

McCain is desperate, old, a racist and probably not the war hero he says he is. He is out of touch and angry,
If this country is to survive, we need new thouhts and ideas. McCain provides none of these.

The McCain campaign tactics are backfiring. According to a national study, 61% of Republicans reported they were disturbed, saddened and skeptical after viewing the Britney/Paris juxtaposition ad. His campaigning strikes me as careening out of control.

I’m sorry but you may not know that Obama has already had as many debates as any presidential candidate in history – 22 in the primaries. Does that mean he’s afraid? Please. McCain is just desperate for attention and knows the only way he can draw a crowd is hang out with “the cool kid.” The GOP and McCain do not offer anything at all positive. Watch for the backlash.

Sen. Obama is nothing but a big “empty” and “meaningless” media production. Take his trip abroad for example. What he was doing was “pretending” like a head of state that he’s not. This sort of thing suits Barack Obama very well. This is what Barack Obama is all about; pretending and pretending who he’s not. I try to listen to him seriously. But to me he sounds hollow and empty. I don’t think he has new ideas or plans. The best he could do if he becomes the president try to reinstate Clinton Administration. That’s the best suggestion he had come up so far. Sen. Hillary Clinton would have done a much better job of that. But Sen. Obama has lot of people cheering for him in the media. That because this sort of “pretending” is what the media is all about. The “image” is everything for the TV and movie people. People in the media don’t care for “truth” or “substance.” They have no use for that. That’s why we have so many crisis plaguing our country; I don’t think the big media is interested in what’s happening to us. I think the media is also exploiting Sen. Obama. In media terms “image” of younger black man is very desirable and marketable. He’s the kind of man who’s the “flavor of the season” for the American media people. But to me this sort of blind media adoration is very scary. For a moment take away the stylish TV images of Sen. Obama. You will instantly realize that Sen. Obama’s ideas for our country is nothing out of the ordinary. He’s certainly not a great political figure like MLK or JFK. But he borrow their words, actions, even try to mimic events that were part of. His claims greatness is all on TV; without the hard work! But TV people don’t mind. In fact they love it. Sen. Obama doesn’t say anything, new, useful or substantial. He says the most inane and obvious things! For the most part Sen. Obama is just a very ordinary “copy-cat” politician. He claims to be MLK and JFK. But in reality he’s almost nothing. Did he say anything “new” in Berlin? He said that “All walls should come down!” That was said by Kennedy and Reagan before. And many others said such things before them. Did he have any useful ideas for Israelis or the Palestinians? At 10, Downing St, he talked about gas prices and mortgage crisis in America? How absurd? He went abroad to “act” like our president. This is like “pulling wool over your eyes.” That’s what Fredrick Nietzsche called this sort of fraudulent play acting. But isn’t he the one who want to “change” this kind of political fraud? He was acting like a former president. But he’s only a candidate; It’s not ok to act like a “head of state” when you’re not. That’s obviously fraudulent. Obama is a mimic man. It would be helpful to understand a politician like Barack Obama if you read V.S. Naipaul’s novel “Mimic Men.” It’s a story of political imitator; a tragic story of an ordinary politician’s accidental rise to power in a time of crisis. Overwhelmed by media images we are ignoring reality; I feel with Sen. Obama we have another crisis or tragedy in the making. There are so many red flags, but in the midst of this swoon created by the media images of Barack Obama, we are missing the critical points! The obvious fact that nobody points out is that Barack Obama was best helped by George Bush. As far as I am concerned Barack Obama could be the worst thing that can happen to our country in long time. I feel our media people are ignoring “truth” and “reality” and as usual leading America over the cliff.

Their desperation this far away from Super Election Tuesday is astounding.
It is wrong headed. Why would the Republican attack machine go after celebrity culture in this way? I would think it makes Obama more widely known not less.

John McShame has gone from maverick to prostitute, which is sad to me that he’s sold his soul to the RNC. All his negativity smacks of desperation, and if Americans are ignorant enough to swallow the lies about Obama, then we don’t deserve any better, and we will continue our decline into that of a third world country, instead of being the most powerful country in the world. And BTW, it is the McSame camp who began the racist meme, NOT Obama. To relate celebrity, the McCain camp could have used a great number of folks, yet chose white-blonde young women who are known for their sexuality. Disgusting, and they should be MADE to stop the BS immediately. The polls are wrong, as they call the same idiots and never any cells, which is totally archaic. Democrats will win so huge in November, it will make the Rethus heads spin. AND KARL ROVE WILL GO TO JAIL, so he won’t be available for the racist, divisive ads he’s so famous for. Didn’t any Rethuglicans learn from 2006??? Take all the polls you want, Obama is going to win hands down, all the the while retaining his decency and respect. Mclame has lost all credibility.

It’s been said that we get the president we deserve. ——– On Monday Obama held an intensive and high-level conference with top economists, from all schools of thought and political background. It was behind closed doors but still I thought there would be some comments, some leaks, some bits of news coming out on what was said about this most vital and critical issue. —- In looking for those tid bits that might shed light on Obama’s economic point of view and the type of options he is considering, or at least learning about, I found a list of attendees, a statement that Obama had made opening remarks before the door was closed (although nothing about what the remarks were) ……. and all I ever wanted to know, and much more, about Britney, Paris, Tom Cruise and their “role” in the presidential election. ——— Which is the chicken and which the egg? Are Americans so shallow that, while we want to complain about the economy, we only want to *think* and *learn* about the unimportant but sexy? Or is the press so eager for cheap stories that drive up ratings that they ignore important issues and important news about those issues? —- We get the president we deserve. Sometimes that is a very frightening thought.

Obama’s energy plan: 65 Billion-dollar tax on oil. No drilling for American oil. No nuclear power. Put more air in your tires.
Obama’s foreign policy: Surrender – now!
Obama’s economic plan: raise taxes on Americans and American businesses.
Obama’s multi-cultural back ground: The right and rightous reverend Wright.
Obama’s committment to America: Okay, allright, I’ll wear your stupid flagpin – if it helps me get elected.
Nobama!

The ad showing Britney and Paris smiling and showing off to the cameras and Barack Obama doing the same thing is not racist. It merely showing that Senator Obama big PR and photo-op overseas was for attention. There was nothing racist about it anymore than seeing a black and white person on the same TV show or together watching a ballgame in the stadium. Those who say this is racist do so because they are racist themselves. Every time, it has been Obama who is race baiting. End of story. By the way those two young women are very well off from selling their music and fashion goods around the world.
The Obama campaign is losing points in the polls and do race baiting for all the wrong reason.

Sandra E – just one comment there Obama admitted to being a drug addict in his book!!
But that is not the comparison, it is to compare how the media puts them on a pedlestool and are awed by them. the Media are acting like Entertainment reporters not true journalists
Sandy – What is Obama’s agenda? please all he is doing is crying about being questioned or what attacks that have not happened!!

He’s only passed 2 bills, one to fund The Congo (wasted) and another to rename a post office. He’s never negotiated on any legislation and remains the farthest left winger in the Senate. Obama’s biggest resume brag point is working as a community organizer for ACORN which was found guilty of registering tens of thousands of nonexistent voters in many states with such names as “Jive Turkey”.

We’ve had eight years of scare tactics, eight years of corruption.
Eight years of one republican being indicted after another for various crimes.
Eight years of being lied to and deceived.
Can anyone really say this tactic by McCain and his party is any different?
Can the group that had total backing from the religious right over those years really tell me the republican party reflects their christian values?

I’ve yet to see Obama’s Columbia and Harvard records. We know where McCain placed on graduation; what was Obama’s GPA?
Still remember the 2004 where all knew Bush’s Yale records, but Kerry kept his secret till a year+ after the election was over. He allowed himself to be billed as the “smart” one during the election…only to be know once the record was out that he had the same academic average as Bush.

He chose not to visit our troops overseas because cameras couldn’t be present. This guy loves publicity and the average American loves a celebrity. I am not your average American, I voted for McCain in 2000, he is independent and votes how he wants. He is not looking to be a star but instead is looking to continue to make a difference. He is much different than Bush and I think he will be one of our greatest Presidents. So many Americans are just too caught up in celebrity status that they dont care about experience.

T lost all respect for BHO when I found out how he managed to win his first state senate seat. It was by eliminating all three opponents by devious means. He whole political career has been through devious and corrupt means. No credibility at all–just talk and bogus promises.
His policies were stolen from other candidates or manufactured by Axelrod.

I’m confused as to why the party that celebrated Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger is trying to get traction with an anti-celebrity argument. Isn’t Reagen the conservative ideal to aspire to? Wasn’t there talk among conservatives a few years ago of changing the Constitution to allow Schwarzenegger to run for President? The inconsistency is puzzling.

Republicans have a positive agenda. Actively defending the country against terrorism, instead of simply responding after their next attack against civilians. Energy independence. Reducing taxes. Reducing pork barrel spending. I could go on, but that is 4 more agenda items than Obama has produced although he pretends to be the candidate of “Change”. He keeps saying “Change” but the only “Change” he comes up with is changing him from a senate trainee into a President trainee.
I’m glad that Obama is so arrogant he just doesn’t get it when everyone starts laughing at him and his dimbulb toadies. This is like Laurel and Hardy coming back to life and running for President!

Obama’s friends are rappers like Ludacris and Fity Cents. He said he loves to listen to that stuff and his ipod is full of such vulgar music. Can you imagine foreign dignatories in the White House presented with vulgar lyrics from Ludacris and Fity cents as “entertainment” during dinner parties? They say that a person can’t be that different from the friends he has chosen.

Obama’s foreign advisor said to the German press that “Obama bows to no-one in understand the world.” She also defended Obama’s “President of the World” speech in Germany saying “The President does not give political speeches in foreign countries”, and a reporter had to interject “Obama’s not the President”. Obama removed the flag from his airplane and replaced it with his “O” logo before his World Ego Trip 2008 (like he was ashamed of it). Obama made up his own presidential seal (against the law). Obama pretended to be president all the way through the Middle East and half-way through Europe before he finally admitted by Paris that “America has a tradition of only one president at a time”–but he’d been violating the Logan Act for a week (high treason). What we’re seeing is a level of self-coronation, delusion, conceit, disrespect for America and its offices that is indicative of someone with mental illness actually. He reminds me of a 2 year old who will always push the envelope to see what they can get away with. So far, nobody really confronts him, like his ridiculous advice to fill up your tires to end the oil crisis. Nobody confronts him over his blatant lies, like his uncle with ptsd in the attic who saved Auschwitz. Obama has no uncle, his great uncle Charles T. Payne was in the Navy (ancestry.com Kansas state historical society) and never went to Europe, and the Russians liberated Auschwitz. He’s gotten away with pushing the envelope, he’s now believing his own hype.

As always, the losers demand a debate, and the winners spend their time getting their message out.
A close examination of John McCain’s legislative record seems to indicate it is just about as lackluster as his military career. But what do we need with facts when we have the great media hype machine.
Actually, I think McCain would make a good President. After four years of lobbyist-approved malfeasance, even Hilary would start looking like a reasonable candidate, Bill and all.
Obama spent the first half of his campaign chastising any member of his campaign, no matter how peripheral, who made personal comments against Senator McCain. See what being polite gets you?

There is a old saying “be careful for what you ask for” Wait until after the conventions and then the debates will happen at which time we will see who is the better man. All this talk about Obama being afraid to debate is hog-wash. A man who was the edtior of the Havord Law Review is not some one you wish to get into a debate with, unless you have all your ducks in order. All I say here is be careful what you wish for and in this case you will get it at the right time and place and it will not be pretty for McCain for sure. In a debate forum you will have to be able to think fast and answer with facts and you will be judge by your mannerism, body lanague and other factors. Is McCain up to facing this type of pressure with out his handlers next to him? We will see come Sept and Oct. Good luck McCain, for you are going to need all of the luck you can there.

The strategy that Camp McCain is trying to use is the belief that the highest level of notoriety/fame an African American can attained in America is that of celebrity.
They are tapping into the psyche of a group of Americans who are ONLY comfortable witnessing African Americans ascend to popular status as entertainers and sports legends. Goes back to “they can only sing and dance.” The underlying theme is RACE, RACE and Negroes, please “stay in your place.”
So if you cannot understand why McCain used Britney and Paris alongside Obama, the man who has shattered the glass ceiling on what an African Americans can achieve– now you know. It’s all about psychological exploitation.

Posted by: clarity | August 3, 2008, 4:31 pm 4:31 pm

I called it when the Obama-Britney-Paris ad first aired, namely Senile John was insulting one of his richest campaign contributors, the Hiltons. Now Kathy Hilton speaks out….”It is a complete waste of the money John McCain’s contributors have donated to his campaign. “It is a complete waste of the country’s time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs. And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next president of the United States.” John McCain allowed his temperment to get the best of him as it obviously clouded his thinking. John ‘Dangerous MInds’ McCain lacks the mental fortitude required to be our next president! OBAMA 08′

The “Straight Talk Express” has been hijacked by the GOP goons headed by Karl Rove. The latest string of despicable campaign ads are testament to this.
McCain, the so-called “clean guy” is increasingly engaging in lies, innuendoes and outright slander. He even has the audacity to admit that it was all for fun.
Fun or not, he has crossed all boundaries of decency when he cynically depict Obama as the the “Chosen One”. This is outright blasphemy. God-fearing people of faith cannot forgive this old man who has gone senile and allowed himself to be overwhelmed by scumbags like Karl Rove and his cronies in directing his campaign to the sewage.
