Hey Obama, Where’s The Text?

ABC News’ Sunlen Miller Reports: As speculation swirls about his vice presidential pick, Sen. Barack Obama enjoyed dinner with the family including his wife, Michelle, and two daughters.

"Where’s the text?" reporters shouted while holding out cell phones to get the presumptive Democratic nominee’s attention as he walked into Roy’s in downtown Chicago.

At first, Obama, D-Ill., acknowledge the press but after some louder shouts, he relented and looked over with a laugh.  As he left, the intrepid band of reporters following Obama’s every move tried again.

"How’s Obama-Biden sound?" reporters yelled.  "See ya guys!" Obama replied.

The candidate has since returned to the Park Hyatt hotel in Chicago where aides advise he will burn the midnight oil, preparing for his nomination acceptance speech next week at the Democratic National Convention.

Obama hoodwinked people into giving him their address and phone number so he can build a larger database.
It is 10 pm EST and no text message!!
People could’ve just wait until a little bit longer until tomorrow morning to see who will be the VP in Springfield, IL.
WHAT A SHAM!!!!!!!!!!!

Obama’s time is just about up. People are getting sick of the fawning, the flip-flopping, the emptiness. He who climbs highest, the furthest his fall. And I can’t wait to watch.

I don’t think anyone was promised a specific time for the announcement; only that they would know before the general public…. that cound mean ten seconds before the public announcement if one really wanted to be picky. Don’t know what it would take to satisfy some folk.

The democrats are making fun of Mccain’s response to the question of how many houses mccain has, well we all know how many homes Obama has, One that cost 1.6 million and was financed with money from a felon. They got some nerve.

This is good, clean fun compared to watching McCain’s evil-tempered ads complete with Paris and Britney — Makes you realize how many good people the Dems have for an administration.
I suspect Obama was planning to send the messages a day or two ago, but he’d be a fool to step on the story of McCain’s not remembering how many houses he has. I like someone who can shift strategy to take advantage of the unexpected.

Speaking of the change candiate it looks like not only will Ted Kennedy not leave the seante after 46 years but add that he won’t leave it even though he has terminal brain cancer and a democratic governor who would pick a democrat if he stepped down. Ted Kennedy supports the candiate of change SAme olde politics same olde hyprcrocy.

The Obama Circus continues. Are people really this gullible..waiting for a text or email.
This is such a horse’s a** way to announce your choice for Vice President.
This is the biggest Liberal scam to get suckers who have cell phones and emails so they can build a database.
What a joke Obama is and i hope he picks Biden.

Obama people remember one thing:
NO HILLARY NO VOTE.

Obama and his moronic campaign is showing people why McCain is the lesser of the two evils.
If Hillary was running for President McCain would be worried.
Obama cluelessness and inexperience will ensure McCain a victory in November.
The Democratic Party and their liberal following will implode in 2008..due to the clown like circus of The Obama Campaign.

think about it, there is no hope for Hillary to be president. First, she already realized how hard was to get the nomination, even against a black man. Next time it is going to be even worst against a white male, probable former Gov. Mark Warner. Second, if McCain is elected with a very democratic congress, so many things will get done that people are going to be happy with the presidency of McCain and his VP. Guess who is going to get all that glory? You guessed….McCain VP who will be running for President.
All in all, if you analize, this was Hillary’s only chance, and she blew it. Too bad, so sad :-)!!!!

They are the one’s that ruined Hillary’s chances of becoming the nominee due to the fact they made deals with the superdelegates for favors granted and Obama was another one. Still waiting for the “text” message, how about reading this in the meantime.
August 22, Deception, dishonesty and perjury and Judge Philip J. Berg denied the injunction and says he will look into the matter soon.
Obama’s mother expatriated her U.S. Citizenship when she married Lolo Soetoro, a citizen of Indonesia and relocated her and her son (Obama) to Indonesia.
Obama’s mother returned to America and divorced her husband but failed to take the oath in order to regain her U.S. Citizenship. Therefore, Obama would not have been able to regain his U.S. Citizenship until he turned eighteen (18) years after he took the oath of allegiance before a diplomatic or consular officer of the United States, or in the U.S. before the Attorney General or the judge or clerk of court. Plaintiff is informed, believes and thereon alleges Obama failed to regain his citizenship by taking the oath of allegiance. Since the oath of allegiance would have been entered in the records of the appropriate embassy, legation, consulate, court or the Attorney General, if Plaintiff is incorrect, then Obama should be able to produce in Court a certified copy of the proceedings, including a copy of the oath administered.
Investigation further showed in 1981, Obama traveled to Pakistan using his Indonesian passport. At the time of travels to Indonesia, Obama was twenty (20) years old. He was well aware he maintained his Indonesia citizenship, and failed to regain his United States citizenship. Indonesia does not allow dual citizenship. Had Obama regained his United States citizenship, he would have been traveling on a United States Passport.
Further investigation led to Obama’s State Bar Registration and Public Disciplinary Record. On the Illinois State Bar Registration and Public Disciplinary Record it specifically asks for “Full former name(s). Obama put “None,” when in fact he went by the name Barry Soetoro, and Barry Obama. It is further believed Obama has used the name Barry Dunham. Obama lied on the State government form that he signed under the penalty of perjury.

After listening to the mocking and condescending tone of Obama’s recent speeches, one must wonder what happened to the pledge to run a different type of campaign.
But, most of Obama’s promises made during the primary are falling by the wayside or being “revised” as the scorch and burn policy of Obama emerges.
Change we can all see…

Posted by: Mariann Pepitone | August 22, 2008, 10:59 pm 10:59 pm

I’m just stating the reality. Called it whatever you want, even sexism, but the reality is that the primaries were not a cakewalk for Hillary, even running against a black man. Now, just imagine running against a charismatic, WHITE southern MAN, flushed with anti-Hillary money. Hillary always knew that she is a very polirizing person, and this primary fight only showed it.
If you notice, Obama campaign in the primaries was based on “I am NOT a clinton,” and “trashing the Clintons.” So, if Hillary is so loved, how does it come that Obama got so many votes? There is an anti-Hillary clinton waiting to put her out, time and time again.
My gut feeling is that next time it will be Mark Warner, in 2012 or 2016.

It was also just stated on CNN that a source close to Hillary said she was not chosen as his running mate so that leaves big mouth Biden. Bayh and Kaine are not chosen either. But Kathleen and Chet Edwards are still open for VP. None of his picks so far have the qualities to be VP and if people think McCain is too old Biden is no young chicken. That would be true EXCEPT he moved to Indonesia with his mother and father who both had citizenship there and he was given Indonesia citizenship. When he returned to the US and by his 18th birthday he would have had to file some paperwork and give his allegiance to regain the US citizenship back. He was still using his Indonesia Passport by age 20………….there is no record of him ever doing this??????And, he committed perjury by filling out federal forms stating that he NEVER went by another name—misleading and deceiving voters.

Ann: Actually, he never gained Indonesian citizenship, and even if he had, U.S. citizens can hold dual citizenship. I had a friend who held dual German and U.S. citizenship (though Germany makes you pick one or the other when you turn 18).
You don’t automatically lose U.S. citizenship for any reason unless the other country makes you relinquish it (and Indonesian doesn’t, plus he never had Indonesian citizenship) or you commit a federal felony.

My first is question: What happened with all the money you supposedly raised for your “girl”?
My second question is: If you PUMA’s are such strong supporters, 2,500,000 according to your own numbers, how does it come that you haven’t at least contributed with $10 each to help Hillary?
My third question: Why are you not putting your money where your mouth is?

As one of my first law professor used to say: You can sue the woman walking down the street with a yellow dress if you want. Will the lawsuit survive? I really, really doubt it!!!!

Snopes.com wrote this back in June. A lot of evidence and checking was completed since then. Written documents with Barry Soetoro (alis Barack Obama) have been obtain. I’m not sure if Obama was born in Hawaii, but given that he was born there he left the country with his parents and received Indonesia citizenship. He went by the name of Barry Soetoro for years and years and there are documents to prove this and other things. He told the Illinois Supreme Court that HE NEVER went by another name. He has been deceiving a lot of people.

Using your stepdad’s last name in a conservative religious nation like Indonesia as a small child doesn’t exactly constitute political intrigue, if you ask any sane person.

My father left when I was 7 months old. He had children with other woman. Now, Why am I supposed to support people with whom I have no relationship whatsoever? It is just non-sense, in my opinion.
Barack has a sister with whom he was raised and lived with. That is his sister. Just ask “only child” Cindy McCain. She has 2 half-sisters although she considers herself an only-child. I am not blaming her for that.

Further, if we as Americans vote for a Republican after 8 years of the Bush administration, we deserve everything that’s coming to us.

It’s more than a relative, Carl – it’s his half-brother who has a tethered copy of one of Obama’s book because the half-brother was six months old when his father died. Obama has met his half-brother and he lives in squalor. Obama is a scam artist and I don’t care who his VP pick is – I will vote McCain to keep away the snake oil salesman Obama. Ann: I just checked Indonesian citizenship law. Although if you assume Indonesian citizenship Indonesia no longer recognizes your US citizenship, this does not invalidate your US citizenship, and the US still recognizes it. Add this to the fact that there is no evidence, and consequently no reason to believe, that Obama was ever an Indonesian citizen, and your case is nonexistent.
I couldn’t find anything but apocryphal references from posters whose messages were suspiciously similar to yours on various forums about a supposed story about Obama using an Indonesian passport to travel to Pakistan in 1981.

No one said it invalidates your US citizenship. He lived with both parents in Indonesia. The Catholic Church has submitted documentation that he was Barry Soetoro and Indonesia Citizenship. Maybe the Catholic Church falsified the signed paperwork. Why don’t you think Jimmy that this should be verified?

what is the definition of a elitist:
1: leadership or rule by an elite
2: the selectivity of the elite; especially : snobbery
3: consciousness of being or belonging to an elite
Bush and McClain both consummate elitist.

Posted by: gman | August 23, 2008, 12:06 am 12:06 am

I looked into Obama supposedly using an Indonesian passport, and the only story I could find was one with no sources or backing claiming he traveled to Pakistan with it in 1981, no doubt saying that because Pakistan is also predominantly Muslim.
I found one source, WorldNetDaily (very very untrustworthy), which says that he was registered in school as an Indonesian citizen named “Barry Soetoro,” and even they said this was likely a lie on the part of his stepdad, if nobody else, because it made it easier to enroll him in public school.
It hasn’t been verified and never will because it’s false. I seriously doubt that all news media and high-profile organizations like the DNC would have let this little factotum slip through if it’s so obvious.

Posted by: Jimmy | August 23, 2008, 12:08 am 12:08 am

Jimmy: Indonesia does make you relinquish citizenship of another country. Indonesia does not recognize dual citizenship.
The document “Surat Pernjataan Keterangan Melepaskan Kewarganegaraan untuk Tetap Mendjadi warganegara Republic Indonesia” has to be issued by a Court and is needed for school and college enrollments.
I don’t know whether Obama was legally adopted by Lolo Soetoro, a Muslim.
But I have read a Los Angeles Times article from a reporter tracking down Obama’s childhood friend and his teacher in Catholic school. Both claimed Obama was Muslim and that he went to the mosque.
I find it odd that he was registered as Muslim at the Catholic school he attended. It defeats the purpose of attending a Catholic school (considered the best in Indonesia) unless he was really a Muslim.

First, as the daughter of a “lost” father, I find totally irrational for me to support my father’s children. I have seen them like in two ocassions, but imagine how many people fill that bill? I just have a brother, raised every single day with me and my mom, knows everything about me, my partner on everything. That is my brother.
About my father’s children? No comments
This is exactly the case with Cindy McCain. She has repeatly claimed that she is only-child. I think she really means it in the whole sense of the word. Ah…did his father have other children with other women? Probably, but DNA alone doesn’t make you family in my book, and apparently it neither does in Cindy’s book as well.

Skipping down in the injunction to article 36 — it is very certain now that Obama lied when filling out the forms to the Illinois Supreme Court when he stated that he NEVER used another name in his life.
36. Further investigation led to Obama’s State Bar Registration and Public Disciplinary
Record. On the Illinois State Bar Registration and Public Disciplinary Record it
specifically asks for “Full former name(s). Obama put “None,” when in fact he went by
the name Barry Soetoro.
Obama lied on the State government form that he signed under the
penalty of perjury.
So what you are saying is that this is not important to for a President to be somewhat truthful. Obama is trying to cover his past to get elected. He has deceived the voters in many ways.

Posted by: Ann | August 23, 2008, 12:12 am 12:12 am

Some of you get it and I applaud you…however, some don’t understand the liberal mind set:
#1. Young people who have problems “rocking” the vote on election day will now have a reminder the DAY OF the election sent to their phones/email…this is genius.
#2. Some of you who are tired of Obama will undoubtedly be wooed by his speech during the convention and will have a shortly fueled butane torch lit in you to last up until Election day or at least until the October suprise.
His campaign is genius in playing his strengths, dodging obvious weaknesses, and getting a younger crowd following.
It’s because liberals are emotive and do not think or pay attention to history. Socialism never worked/works but oh well let’s try it again. He is an empty suit who has a big Emotional Bank Account with his followers (those of you who are Stephen Covey fans know what I mean).
Another thing, the whole bumper sticker thing means one of two things. He either was lying about his choice for VP and it really will be Bayh (so he is a liar) OR he is so fiscally irresponsible that he paid a company to make up useless bumperstickers….you want either running a country?

He was not adopted, and was not raised as a Muslim. I haven’t yet seen a shred of credible evidence that he ever registered at school as a Muslim.
At any rate, non-Catholics attend Catholic schools all the time, especially in places where the public education is lacking.

I find it intriguing that you accuse of a then-six-year-old child of “going by” an “alias,” as if he would have even necessarily been aware of this unless his parents made it clear to him somehow, also with no evidence. Just because Mr. Berg mentions this in his frivolous lawsuit doesn’t make it factual. Find some real evidence.

About Hillary’s money:
I understand that active candidates ask for money, just ask McCain; however, a losing candidate who claims to have an army of 18,000,000 people could do better than raising $1.3MM in a month when the PUMA’s claimed having raised around $10MM among their organization members.
If the PUMA people hadn’t gone on TV making such powerful claim, I wouldn’t be saying anything about it. However, all ended up being hot air, nothing else.

Ann, Jimmy is right. And it’s obvious you have minimal knowledge of the legal system, as well. Just because a lawsuit is filed does not mean it has any merit. Ever hear of ‘nuisance suits’? This is one.
The requirement for running for President is being born on US soil. Obama was born in Hawaii. Hawaii is US soil. No brainer – Obama has met that requirement.

I don’t see why supporting my father’s relatives is my responsability. Sorry, but I am not responsible for them. If Obama starts giving money to this relative, then the next will come, then the next, and the next and the other, never ending.
Maybe if I were not in a similar situation, I could be harsh on Cindy “only child” McCain or Barack Obama; however, I walk on those same shoes, and understand the dynamic of those periferial “relationships.”

Hey maybe Obama could debate Mr. McCain through text-message! Then maybe he wouldn’t have to stand up and show how much of a leader he really is! Obama is weak, Mr. McCain is the only true leader in this election, besides Hillary.

Matthew, He used the 48 hour window to let the McCain Houses gaffe get full blown coverage…why not? It allowed for McCain to be shown as the rich man he is – elite and out of touch with us middle class hard workers! Why not hold off with the text and let the ‘Houses gaffe’ play out? I think holding off was a smart move! So I, for one, didn’t mind waiting for that text at all!

“The democrats are making fun of Mccain’s response to the question of how many houses mccain has, well we all know how many homes Obama has, One that cost 1.6 million and was financed with money from a felon. They got some nerve.”
That’s it, keep devouring that fox news, right wing conservative bull…and why shouldn’t the guy have a house that cost a million dollars? Wouldn’t you want one too if you busted your butt for years and then wrote a book that did well, gave you your first annual income of over $200k, and suddenly had a little money to spend on a nice home for you family? Give me a break – if you want to hate the guy, let’s see some real debate, not this crap that’s spoon fed from the hatemongers and the Karl Rove wannabees…

obama can draw the biggest crowd of supporters in any state, BECAUSE he has the most support and will win by probably over 300 electoral votes, its about states guys, if he can topple hillary he can topple mccain.
btw he raised another 52 mil last month. so that wont slow down.

How about ‘No Romney No Vote’?

Posted by: K Webb | August 23, 2008, 12:50 am 12:50 am

The reason the lady that called from York, PA to Larry King said that she couldn’t support the ticket because Biden had plagarized 20 years ago; however, she supports Hillary who lied about landing on snipper fire just 4 months ago. There is nothing rational about that thinking.
Barack did very well in picking Biden, whose resume will appeal to the voters really interested in the issues of reasonable Americans.
Good for Obama. I love Biden!!!

The most inmediate way for those 18,000,000 voters to show muscle is to give each of them $10 to Hillary’s campaign and retire her debt. The minute the world sees that 18,000,000 army rallies to Hillary’s side, Obama will see whether or not he made a mistake by not picking her.
The problem is that dispite all the huffing and puffing, the Hillary-army hasn’t even delivered to her.

Wow, I can really feel the love and calm rational thought coming from Dems like JC. JM may or may not own any houses. They may be in Cindy’s name or owned by some trust. So, no matter what JM answered he would be nailed by the Dems. A number of the homes were bought for family members. They also did not come with strings attached.
The financing for Obama’s house was not from any American bank or S&L but instead given by an Iraqi with questionable dealings in food for oil deals. The price Obama paid was negotiated to his advantage by a known crook. It is reported Obama provided special favors and government contracts given to Obama’s “friend” and neighbor.
It is also strange that while JM gives houses to family members Obama has a brother that he met last year who tries to get by living on $12 PER YEAR!! Seems Barrack and Michele couldn’t even find it in their hearts to give him $20.
Although Obama won’t give his relatives a dime, he is all for the US Government trying to end 25% of all poverty throughout the WORLD within 5 years! All we have to do is to give more money.
It seems a number of Dems confuse name calling with making a point.

Do we all know that if we lower the price of oil, by drilling, developing oil shale, wind, geo, solar and nuclear while cutting subsidies for ethanol jobs will be created, inflation will drop, gas prices will go down, the deficit will be lower, our trade imbalance will improve and the dollar will rise?
Do we all know the Dems want high gas prices which causes high inflation? Do we all know this hurts the middle class the most?
Add Barrack’s plan to increase payroll deductions to FORCE working people to save whether they want to or not and the middle class is hurt the most by the Dem policies.

Soldier, do you know that JM’s plan for Iraq may well bring soldiers home faster than Obama’s plan? Obama wants to bring them home based upon a fixed plan regardless of the facts on the ground over 16 months.
JM’s plan is based upon events on the ground which now looks like all or most combat operations will end 5 months after JM takes office! It is HIGHLY likely JM will have a faster redeployment out of Iraq than BHO.
JM will also listen to and support Petraus and the local commanders on the scene. Know it all BHO will order them to do his bidding. After all, BHO knows more about military strategy than any person in the armed forces. Didn’t you see that in his resume?

Posted by: Dave in lv | August 23, 2008, 1:59 am 1:59 am

Dave in lv: Telling any American soldier or Marine that John McCain crashing his plane and blowing up another one on the deck of a carrier and killing dozens of servicemen has the equivalent combat experience of anyone serving in an infantry unit is like spitting in our faces.
McCain uses the idea of the military serviceman to serve his political ambitions. He smiles, wears a navy hat and all of you smile with him and say ‘oh, isn’t that great! he’s a military man!’
What he endured in that POW camp is incredible. He is to be commended for enduring that. But he didn’t do it for country. He did it for his family and his friends. That’s why we servicemen do what we do. The flag isn’t what we defend- it is a symbol of what we defend: the constitution. And by his refusal to defend that grand old document- the one that guarantees our rights as human beings being given by a power higher than anyone on the planet- he has urinated on the ideals of the American serviceman.
As an addendum: American servicemen overwhelmingly have donated more cash to Obama’s campaign than to McCain’s. To assume that we’re all stupid and just march lock-step to McCain because he wears a ‘navy’ hat and are dumb enough to vote for him when his policies run counter to our own best interests as soldiers lends us no credit. We are smarter than you give us credit for.

Biden needed to come on board. I mean he said he doubted that voters were going to elect a “one-term guy who has served for four years in the Senate” and who he didn’t “recall hearing a word from Barack about a plan or a tactic” when it came to Iraq and that the more people learn about Obama and how he handles pressure that the more his “support will evaporate”. But he always liked Obama and said ” you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, I mean that’s a storybook, man”. Geez, Bill Clinton was just referring to Obama’s positions on Iraq as being a fairytale and he got crucified. But Biden understood that “when this campaign is over, political slogans like “experience” and “change” will mean absolutely nothing”. Biden should in particular enjoy this VP run in comparison to his past failed VP run because he’ll be up against McCain and according to Biden “McCain is a personal friend, a great friend, and I would be honored to run with or against John McCain, because I think that the Country would be better off, be well off no matter who..” Well, his friend Lieberman may already have the McCain VP slot so I guess that Biden will have to make do with the Obama VP slot. Oh well, maybe next time.

We are all praying you are right! If Loserman gets the VP nod from McSurge it will be the biggest gift the Dems could ever hope for this election cycle! Loserman or that Mormon Romney – either one would be a gift to Obama & Biden!

It’s pretty sad though that the VP Obama brought on to compensate for his lack of foreign policy experience- the one on the ticket now who is the foreign policy expert- had positions identical to McCain. Does that mean McCain was right ? Biden has the foreign policy experience remember not Obama. Biden supported invading Iraq and increasing our troop presence there right alongside his friend McCain in fact he said in 2005 “I’ve been calling for more troops for over two years, along with John McCain”. Say what? In 2007 Biden said when talking about WMD’s
” Well, the point is, it turned out they didn’t, but everyone in the world thought they had them. The weapons inspectors said he had them” and “this was not some, some Cheney, you know, pipe dream”. Thank god Obama has someone on his ticket with foreign policy experience to take on McCain.
I hope this doesn’t ruin their “great friendship”.

When Obama loses in November, what are his plans? Another best-selling book perhaps? I’d like it if he came over and made me pancakes in bed…

Davis …the bumper stickers are being printed….Obama bin Biden!
McCain campaign just released a statement reiterating their agreement with Biden that Obama is not qualified to be POTUS…..they have tons of tape and audio that will make for fabulous ads. What idiots they were in chosing Biden. Hillary didn’t slander as much as Biden.

Sounds a little weird for me. Should I let her do it?

So Obama texted his BFF Biden at 3 a.m.?
What kind of unpresidential garbage is this.?

Barack Hussein Obama and Joe Biden. The administration of the “empty suit and the stuffed shirt”. This is rich.
I always said that Obama is the affirmative action candidate. Do you think the Democrats are having “buyer’s remorse” today?

Used to be a Democrat. Obama inspired a “change” in me…to Independent. I’m now voting McCain.
Thanks to Pelosi, Dean, et. al. for destroying the Democratic party. Way to go, guys.

He picked a 35-year veteran of the Senate — the ultimate insider — rather than a candidate from outside Washington, such as Govs. Tim Kaine of Virginia or Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas; or from outside his party, such as Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska; or from outside the mostly white male club of vice presidential candidates. Hillary Rodham Clinton didn’t even make his short list.
The picks say something profound about Obama: For all his self-confidence, the 47-year-old Illinois senator worried that he couldn’t beat Republican John McCain without help from a seasoned politician willing to attack. The Biden selection is the next logistical step in an Obama campaign that has become more negative — a strategic decision that may be necessary but threatens to run counter to his image.
Democratic strategists, fretting over polls that showed McCain erasing Obama’s lead this summer, welcomed the move. They, too, worried that Obama needed a more conventional — read: tougher — approach to McCain.

Lets not forget about the fact that Barrack Hussein Obama is still a black man in America. When it comes time to pull the levers, I gaurantee Americans will remember.

Whos’ more demented?
McCain who can’t remember how many houses he has? (Its a demented question to begin with).
Or Obama, who can’t remember any of the promises he has made and not kept? And, I don’t have enough time to list ALL of them.
Ex-60′s liberal now neuropsychologist voting independent
PS: I agree with Asif Ali Zardari, we are losing the war on world wide terrorism. Time to wake up!
