Hunting for Veepy Clues
On the evening of June 5, 2004, an airplane mechanic named Bryan Smith ducked into a Pittsburgh airplane hangar and noticed that the campaign plane of Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., was being painted.
And Sen. John Edwards’s name was being added to the logo.
Smith went home and blogged about it at the USAviation Web site.
"John Kerry"s 757 was in hgr 4 pit tonight John Edwards vp decals were being put on engine cowlings and upper fuselage," he wrote.
We checked out Obama’s plane at Midway today.
No painting.
No decals.
Just sitting there safe and sound, Holy "O" sitting solo on the tail wing.
No "K"s or "B"s added.

HAAA This is so funny. The supporters will know before the media. I find that so ironic, since the media lampooned Obama to stardom. CNN is the funniest. Their so afraid it will be Hillary and they’ll have to swallow their backhanded comments. Go Obama….At least he has a sense of humor! Obama/Hillary 08

Even CNN just said the tease is going on too long, but it’s not surprising given the egomaniac we’re referring to…just loves the idea everyone is waiting for him to announce “to the world” were his exact words.
McCain would NEVER say that.
Go away citizen of the world….I can’t stand the thought of you in my White House.

McCains buindler behind Obama Ayers Ad,
The spokesman for the American Issues Project, the independent group whose ad is the most negative of the cycle and links Obama to terrorism, says the group just filed a report naming its sole donor.
The donor, spokesman Christian Pinkston said, is Dallas billionaire Harold Simmons, who made his first fortune in chain pharmacies and is now listed as the 73rd richest person in the world, with a net worth estimated by Forbes at $2.1 billion.
Simmons, a major Republican donor, gave maximum $2,300 contributions to Senator John McCain last year, as well as to former Governor Mitt Romney and to former Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
He’s listed as a bundler for the McCain campaign on McCain’s website, which says he’s raised between $50,000 and $100,000 for the Republican candidate.
He’s also contributed to Rep. Chet Edwards, the Texas Democrat who has been mentioned as a possible Obama running mate.
Simmons was reportedly a major donor to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth in 2004.
He’s also a backer of a controversial plan to store nuclear waste in West Texas, which his waste management company would administer.

Debra, evidently you’re one of the people waiting for the announcement because you’re posting stuff on this thread. If you weren’t interested you wouldn’t even be posting here.
The media are the ones who have been playing the speculation game. Obama was always going to announce it at this time. Just because the media is trying to pry it out of him doesn’t mean Obama’s waiting just to mess with us. Obama’s smart to get so much coverage out of the pure speculation of the pick.
The media will hound McCain soon enough. I hope he picks Lieberman, therefore handing the election to Obama!

obama should have been an actor. he would have been really good on “the days of our lives”, or “the young and the restless”. ya know, being that he likes to create his own soap operas. ooooooh the anticipation is killing me!!!! you dont think he is doing this all on perpose so the media just keeps focus on him do ya?? i dont think he’s that type of guy…. what an idiot…. lol

As team Obama fuels hype about his VP selection, I am reminded why I find him so repugnant. He is all hype. So while the media are all atingle, ordinary Americans would like some substance for a change. Much ado about nothing.
Get serious. NObama.

well said nancy. obama is smart in a sly way though. i mean, he is charasmatic and reads a teleprompter really well. he KNOWS he’s not president worthy!!! he KNOWS he dosnt have any experience whatsoever that qualifies him for the job. but he DOES know there are ALOT of mindless americans out there who will fall for charisma and some key words. (thus the hope and change B.S.) so there you have it. this is modern day america. 50 years ago, if the situation were identical, a canidate like obama would have never even been considered. i mean, not by anyone. so what does that tell you about what this country has become? i dont have the answer, but i wish someone could explain it to me, because im at a total loss at what has happened to our common sense as a nation.

This hype and frenzy over nothing is exactly the Obama celebrity angle. It is the American Idol Ryan Seacrest who’s it going to be, don’t you wish you knew, stay tuned. Instead of coming up with concrete policy, or real solutions to national issues, Obama plays the media like a fiddle – just as he did through the primary to distract the vetting process until it was too late for him to lose. Hundreds of news stories have been written about the fact that Obama has not chosen his VP. This is not news. It is hype and of no substance, just like the candidate himself.

do you realize that more than twice as many people watched the final American Idol, then voted for Obama? I can’t even remember who won Idol this last time. And you say that this is a “movement” that has changed America?

Did you know McCain already used the POW card when he was implated in the Keating Five Scandal?
He did. That’s why he got away with just a slap on the wrist.
Earlier, calling on a Senate ethics panel to quickly issue a decision involving McCain’s case, supporter Bob Dole said, “He has been held hostage before under very difficult circumstances. So let us not keep him hostage here in the Senate,” according to the New York Times on October 23, 1990.

It’s so amusing seeing the caricature Republicans have of Senator Clinton supporters. No, they don’t care about saving a Supreme court that supports Roe v Wade, or defends women from pay discrimination, or a president who won’t veto Senator Clinton’s upcoming legacy healthcare work, or supports child care, or supports protection for working women – no of course not. When they’re pretending to be ‘Hillary supporters for McCain’ they pretend to be stupid high school girls scorned. Always good for a laugh.

Willem — what are you talking about? There is no “pow card”. That is reality, McCain, in service to his country, had to lose 5 years of his life, as part of defending our freedom and liberties, so you can run your big mouth in freedom criticizing him. You need to be forever grateful to him and all our servicemen.
Obama, meanwhile, has done nothing, absolutely nothing, nothing, nothing, for the service of this country. And that is fact. We owe him nothing. And he has used up all his victim and race cards, so the fun begins now…the GOP has tons of goodies all waiting to emerge!
tootles! LOL!

So nice to see how little you think of the work the state legislators do (yes, he wrote from scratch and got passed into law useful legislation). Or the charity work he did year ago.
When you state such completely overboard partisan rhetoric you just end up looking ignorant.

Re: “so what does that tell you about what this country has become? i dont have the answer, but i wish someone could explain it to me, because im at a total loss at what has happened to our common sense as a nation.”
Our standards got lowered with REAGAN, a dumb actor who did nothing but read a script. They were lowered more with QUAYLE, a rich kid who couldn’t spell potato. And they went into the tank with DUI DUBYA, somebody who can’t even speak properly, but because our country is so dumb, he was able to lie us into a war.
Republicans have lowered our standards and put our country trillions of dollars in debt. Obama isn’t perfect, but he is smarter than Dubya, Quayle, Reagan and Mr. Keating 5 combined.

Hillary wasn’t even being vetted all this time and I knew it. She has been giving Obama support with clenched teeth, which is more than I would do.
Obama sucks for not even seriously considering Hillary and he WILL BE SORRY. Twenty five percent of her supporters are now WITH McCAIN, AND 11% is undecided. Her heart is not in it to support this wind bag, and neither are millions of her supporters.

Big deal! Who cares who he picks for his VP? He sealed his fate when he treated all women in a sexist manner when he bashed Hillary! He wouldn’t get out votes not if Jesus came down and walked on the water for him! I know one thing for certain. It will not be Hillary because she is a person who has a brain in her head and can think for herself and he only wants people to tag along behind him blindly like his supporters. He doesn’t want anyone who might say, “Perhaps that wouldn’t be such a good idea to do this or that.” He only wants yes people in his campaign. His ego is as long as he is tall. And, he can’t hold a candle to Hillary Clinton. We have been telling her and Bill Clinton to do NOTHING for that elitist, sexist pg!!!!! And even if he picked Hillary he would still not get our votes. I think the Dems and Obama really underestimated how fed up the babyboomer women were with the way the party was treating us. And, how long we would remain furious about this. I’d like to see Obama and say to him, “You were wrong, the women DIDN’T GET OVER IT!!”" Right now 1 in every 5 of Hillary’s supporters are saying they will vote for John McCain and that number is expected to increase. Maybe next time he’ll learn to have some manners and keep a civil tongue in his mouth! Good riddance! I hope he picks another Kerryite because that would really seal his fate and his campaign. I’d be thrilled! The more he aligns himself with Kerry and those types the angrier people are getting with him. He claimed he doesn’t want politics to be more of the same and that is exactly what the little hypocrite is doing. I will dance in the streets when he gets defeated in November!!!

“Maybe next time he’ll learn to have some manners and keep a civil tongue in his mouth!” I think you’re overplaying it just a touch…

Dear Bloggers,
The important ting for all of you to pray hard about tonight is that McCain
does not choose Romney as his VP. Don’t know about your ecopnomy but mine is worried enough about how we will pay for all the services to John’s multiple houses for secret service etc. plus Mits 6 or more. Doesn’t matter that he’s not in them, if the kids are they still have to cover them. That debt could easily be comparable to the Iraq war debt. Don’t know how we could do that without adding to the deficit which you younger people are going to inherit.
Posted by: aw | August 22, 2008, 8:48 pm 8:48 pm
jhw — hmmm, are you referring to the more than 100 “present” votes Obama dropped in the Illinois senate? That was useful to Illionis? Or how about the bills that Obama authored in the US Senate, that became law? One was naming a post office, the other was supporting democracy in the Congo. Yep, lots of service to his country there.
In regards to charity, according to Forbes, and based on available tax records for the most recent years, the Obama have donated no more than 6% of their income to charity. The McCains, meanwhile, have donated about 28% during the same time period.
And many Chicagoans will tell you that Obama had done diddly squat for their state as well.
Yep, that’s service to you? LOLOLOLOL!
I actually pity the poor sucker that Obama ropes into the campaign with him, as they will see their career sink along with Obama’s campaign.
Posted by: decentAmerican | August 22, 2008, 8:48 pm 8:48 pm
Vanessa — you are clearly confusing wealthy and successful with elitist, and that is ridiculous. Elitist refers to one’s attitude, not one’s pocketbook. It is what one does with that wealth and success.
Shall we discuss a few things? Michelle was on the board of the U of Chicago hospitals, making 6 digits, in this non profit hospital that made hundreds of millions of dollars, while thousands in her husbands district went without healtcare, and an important healthcare bill folded in the senate, while Obama did NOTHING.
john McCain, growing up, had never owned a home, as he was always moving around with his military father. While he could have lived a lazy life of “luxury”, he instead chose to go into the military, and risk his life, for YOU. John McCain’s son, despite the family wealth, also could have a Paris Hilton existence, living off his trust fund, but instead, the same….he enters the military, risks his life, for this country, for YOU.
Now……who is the elitist?
Deeds, not words. Americans know the truth.

decentAmerican: No, I was clearly referring to the laws he wrote in Illinois, such as the requirement that interrogations and confessions in serious crimes be video recorded. Orginally opposed by both Democrats and Republicans and promised a veto, it ultimately passed easily and was signed into law. Because it was a good law and Senator Obama did good consensus building.
If you quit being such a partisan hack and spewing lies and you might realize that Senator Obama has done more than “nothing, absolutely nothing, nothing, nothing…” There are plenty of reasons to support McCain – you want to see abortion outlawed, several forms of birth control banned (the only moral action if life begins at conception), tax cuts biased to the top 5% of income earners, and a hard push to extend the primacy of oil as America’s largest energy source. Complaining about Senator Obama’s “Present” votes just shows a profound lack of comprehension of the Illinois legislative process. (As a side snark, do you know when Obama was rated the “most liberal” senator for one year McCain wasn’t even in the rankings – he didn’t make enough votes to qualify for ranking.)

I guess all these journalists and lawmakers don’t have as much knowledge as you, oh great anonymous blogger!
Stop posting lies about McCain. It is Obama who wants to raise taxed, not McCAin. He has already indicated he wants to keep taxes low for everyone. Obama’s policies shifts depends on who he talks to, and who he wants vote from that day. he has flipped on privacy monitoring, oil drilling, “Iran is not a threat”, to a few days later “Iran is a threat”.
Obama will destroy this country, and more and more Americans are seeing the truth about this horrible man.

He has had a completely privleged childhood, and has been completely out of touch with the average American.
Did you see polls from today that he is losing by over 23 points in Kansas and Tennessee? That’s the heartland of America, that’s the average American, that’s the heart and soul of this country. Obama has no idea what they go through with his arugala, and comments about “bitterness”. My goodness, Obama is not even winning his home state by that wide a margin!

WHAT WE NEED NOW IS THE BEST CANDIDATE…AND NOT THE BEST PARTY… OBAMA IS NOT THE BEST FOR SURE…HE’S NOT EVEN BETTER… THINGS WILL JUST GET WORSE WITH HIM AS A JOB TRAINEE IN A PRESIDENTIAL SEAT….WHAT WE NEED IS ANOTHER CLINTON TO CLEAN THE MESS FROM THE SECOND BUSH BECAUSE THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB IN CLEANING UP THE FIRST BUSH MESS…..

Neil: WHAT WE NEED NOW IS THE BEST CANDIDATE…AND NOT THE BEST PARTY…
That’s what the Republicans always do. They make it seem like Dubya is the problem. The problem is the whole Republican Party. McCain will continue Dubya’s failed policies. He will probably choose Romeny as his running mate because that’s who Cheney’s daughter endorsed. Then they can keep looting the American people through bogus wars.
GOP=Bad Economy!!

CLINTON IS THE BEST…MCCAIN IS BETTER…OBAMA IS WORST OF ALL…. MCCAIN HAS BEEN IN SENATE AND CONGRESS FOR DECADES NOW AFTER HIS MILITARY CAREER… LONG EXPERIENCE IN HIGH OFFICE AND DISPLAY OF LEADERSHIP FOR YEARS ARE WANT WE NEED RIGHT NOW AND NOT CRASH COURSES WHICH OBAMA TOOK FOR BARELY FEW YEARS….145 DAYS OF ACTUAL SENATE EXPERIENCE….GEEEZZZZ….YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME….YOU ARE QUESTIONING MCCAIN’S CHARACTER WHEN OBAMA HAS THE WORST CHARACTER AND ASSOCIATIONS OF ALL….THE LATEST NEWS ABOUT OBAMA IS GETTING WORSE — HIS AFFILIATIONS WITH THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF USA WHICH WAS INTENTIONALLY OVERSHADOWED BY JOHN EDWRADS’ EXTRA MARITAL AFFAIR….PEOPLE ARE NOT THET STUPID NOT TO KNOW AND REALIZE THAT OBAMA IS NOT FIT OR QUALIFIED AS POTUS

You forgot to mention Obama attended these schools through schlorships. Meaning he’s SMART.
Unlike a certain individual whose also running for the presidency who graduated at the very very VERY bottom of his class.
I forgot to mention McCain also wear $500 shoes.

Re: …Kansas and Tennessee? That’s the heartland of America, that’s the average American, that’s the heart and soul of this country.”
Oh bull. I’m tired of the media making it seem like the midwest and south are the heart and soul of America. That’s baloney. People there are not more American than people in other parts of the country. There are hardworking people ALL over America.
The midwest and south voted for Dubya and his failed policies. Not too bright!

Biden on the death of his first wife and daughter…
the accident that killed Neilia and Amy
: “I got elected when I was 29, and
I got elected November the 7th.
And on Dec. 18 of that year,
my wife and three kids were Christmas shopping for a Christmas tree.
A tractor-trailer, a guy who allegedly
—- and I never pursued it —-
drank his lunch instead of eating his lunch,
broadsided my family
and killed my wife instantly,
and killed my daughter instantly,
and hospitalized my two sons,
with what were thought to be at the time
permanent, fundamental injuries …
They’re both, thank God, healthy and well.”

ROBERT, I couldn’t agree more, buddy. Obama’s polls are getting slimmer and he’s circling the drain….at a train station, obama employee is asking for voter’s registration…they are that desparate….

I used to be in that group, until I heard that Bayh and Kaine were not the picks. That leaves either Biden or Hillary, both of whom are great choices. That’s why I’m now on board.

So there is and “O” and nothing else..
They need to keep it empty for his VP pick. So lets go through the cast of “usual suspects” to see what else will be painted on the plane…
1)”UF-O” for Dennis Kucinich
2)”O-thank God he’s not driving” for Ted Kennedy
3)”carb-On footprint 1″ for Al Gore
4)”Say it isn’t s-O” for Hillary Clinton
5)”O-h not again” for Bill Clinton

If anyone is still around and wants to know the truth about those 129 present votes (out of the about 4000 he cast), I recommend a simple google for “obama Illinois present vote.” The first few links have good reviews of the issue (for example, 50 appeared part of a party strategy). But don’t bother looking if you’re just waving a partisan foam finger and don’t care about reality.

If its Biden, then McCain should pick Sara Palin as his VP. She is smart, honest, and good Gov. as far as I can tell. She can also hold her own in the “boys” club, she defeated a sitting Gov., she would be real change…. just my opinion.

Obama won Scholarships?
When is Affirmitive action a Scholarship?
His years prior to college were private schools paid for by his grand parents.

How can you say “same old Washington politics” “change” and pick someone who has been in the Senate since the 70′s. I don’t konw who Obama is or what he really stands for other that he wants to be President bad. My guess is he is a hard working white guy who can do Obama’s dirty work.
I like Biden and would have considered voting for him.
Hope McCain doesn’t pick Pawlenty (bland) or Romney (phony)
