Joe Biden’s Mouth: ‘If the Sparks Fly, So Be It’

"The White House isn’t the place to learn how to deal with international crisis, the balance of power, war and peace, and the economic future of the next generation," said a TV ad for Sen. Joe Biden’s 1988 presidential campaign.  "A President has got to know the territory, but that’s not enough."

The ad says, "Joe Biden thinks its time to remind the world of what America stands for. Freedom. Equality. Justice. Opportunity. He thinks it’s time to put courage over compromise, time to express America’s outrage once again towards repression, brutality, violence, the abuse of human dignity around the world. And if the sparks fly, so be it."

If the sparks fly, so be it. Not a bad slogan for Mr. Biden.

Sen. Joe Biden, D-Dela., has long said what’s on his mind with that attitude.

He’s got a mouth on him. The sparks have flown.

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, and his team are hoping it’s a mouth that does them good, not ill.

He told our friend Jeffrey Goldberg three years ago, "The Lord Almighty, or Allah, whoever, if he came to every kitchen table in America and said, ‘Look, I have a Faustian bargain for you, you choose. I will guarantee to you that I will end all terror threats against the United States within the year, but in return for that there will be no help for education, no help for Social Security, no help for health care. What do you do?’ My answer is that seventy-five per cent of the American people would buy that bargain."

Campaigning for president in New Hampshire in 1987, Biden admitted he had misstated several facts about his resume after a man named Frank questioned his Syracuse Law School resume.

”I think I have a much higher I.Q. than you do," Biden responded.

He added that he ”went to law school on a full academic scholarship – the only one in my class to have a full academic scholarship,” adding that he ”ended up in the top half” of his class (not true) and ”graduated with three degrees from college" (not true).

Five months later, Biden acknowledged that he graduated 76th in a class of 85. ”I did not graduate in the top half of my class at law school and my recollection of this was inaccurate," he said in a statement.  He graduated with one degree — a B.A. — in two majors, history and political science.

”I exaggerate when I’m angry,” Biden told the New York Times, ”but I’ve never gone around telling people things that aren’t true about me…’I guess every single word I’ve ever said is going to be dissected now.”

More recently, Biden raised eyebrows as a presidential candidate running in 2008, telling an Indian-American, "In Delaware the largest growth in population is Indian-Americans, you cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent." (Watch HERE.)

Responding to a question from Fox News’ Chris Wallace about how a Northeastern liberal like him could compete in the South, Biden said, "you don’t know my state. My state was a slave state, my state was a border state, my state has the 8th largest black population, it’s anything but a Northeast liberal state." (Watch HERE.)

He has a grittiness, a candor, a feistiness.

He said he would shove a troop funding bill veto down President Bush’s throat. (Watch HERE.)

He called former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani "the most underqualified man since George Bush to seek the presidency…Rudy Giuliani, there’s only three things he mentions in a sentence — a noun, and a verb and 9/11." (Watch HERE.)

And of course he said of Obama himself, "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy." The implication that other African-American leaders weren’t clean or articulate certainly raised some hackles.

"Barack Obama is probably the most exciting candidate that either the Democratic or Republican party has produced at least since I’ve been around," Biden later qualified. "He’s fresh, he’s new, he’s insightful."

Biden said he regretted that "some have taken totally out of context my use of the word ‘clean.’..My mother has an expression ‘clean as a whistle, sharp as a tack,’" Biden said. "Look, the idea is, this guy is something brand new no one has seen before."

According to Biden, Obama told his colleague, "’Joe, you don’t have to explain anything to me.’" Biden said he felt Obama "knew what I meant by it."

Both men are no doubt hoping he doesn’t have any similar explanations to make in the next three months.

I like Mike Barnacle’s
Obama Biden
2 guys…2 houses.
lol
again Biden’s gotten more through this partisanly broken congress in the last 6 months than anyone…
knows the world situation better than anyone…
knows what it is like to be in a family that loses everything …better than anyone in the running…(his father did)
and is going to kick the living cr@p out of anyone they put in front of him in the debate…
and when you are calling for change… nothing brings change in smoother than having the familiar walking next to you when you do it…
Clinton for SOS…and we would be taking on the world like the leader we are supposed to be.

and don’t be fooled Jake
and for Hillary supporters …
Hillary needs Obama to win…
Caroline Kennedy is either going to move to MA and run for her uncle’s senate seat…
or if Obama loses …right or wrong …chances are Hillary is going to take the hit unfortunately for her senate seat
…with Caroline Kennedy won’t have to move to MA and will run for the senate seat in NY.
and if you think that is spin…I am positive it is not…

Hilly-Billy
Biden said he was not ready yet…but that he would take the judgement over McCain’s experience …any day.
and maybe you should do a little research on that plagiarism bologne…
and see how Dukakis fired the guy who accused Biden of it.
it is sad when people accuse a guy of siting the source multiple times and one time misses it in a speech …20 years ago and you all are going to use that as the best argument against ALL the other things that he brings to the country… …that’s dumb.

CHANGE you can believe in.

“Obama Biden
2 guys…2 houses.”
My husband and I have been thinking this since yesterday. If McCain picks Romney, I will love to see how much the democrats will tease them with “counting the Romneys and McCains’ houses.” The Republican ticket will turnout to “Rich/Richer ’08.”
Can you imagine Ann Romney and Cindy McCain campaigning among regular, working class, American women? This is going to be super-fun!!!!
*PS: Since the house-gate, Pawlenty’s stocks have raised with me. Romney will only reinforce the narrative the democrats will paint of the republican ticket: Rich/Richer ’08.

Posted by: carl29 | August 23, 2008, 10:45 am 10:45 am

I don’t think McCain’s people are going to bring up the flimsy plagarism claims against Biden. Because if they do, they might have to address the strange appearance of McCain’s “cross in the dirt story” that seems quite obviously plagarized… plus the changing story about Mother Teresa’s involvement in their adoption, plus addressing the rumors of McCain’s role in the USS Forestal fire, plus addressing the rumors of an affair with Vicki Isemann, plus addressing Cindy McCain’s prescription fraud and addiction, plus his disgusting serial adultery in his first marriage. Need we go on? McCain would do well to elevate the discourse of this campaign, as Obama has tried to do.

Posted by: stsw531 | August 23, 2008, 10:59 am 10:59 am

yep, thats change all right. picking a guy who has been in washington for 36 years. “i promise to bring change to washington”. how many times have we heard him sy that? ahhhhh , so mybe experience DOES mean something to obama… such an idiot… lol

Posted by: tim | August 23, 2008, 11:01 am 11:01 am

Obama/Biden is a very solid democratic ticket. If McCain wins like Bush won his second term, I am going to have very serious doubts about Americans possessing good judgment.

Posted by: Edward | August 23, 2008, 11:01 am 11:01 am

there’s a whole lotta guys like you, it doesn’t matter what Obama does you’ll mock it as contradictory, if he didn’t have Biden then you’ll argue he has NO experience, if he does have Biden then you’ll argue he selects D.C. insiders.

Posted by: Edward | August 23, 2008, 11:05 am 11:05 am

ok, i cant pass this up. american peoples judgement??!! ok, let me just ask this… dont you think the ticket should at least be flipped around??!! the guy with the experience should be on top of the ticket?! you guys have it all backwards. i just dont understand why you people still think obama is the guy for the job. biden, yeah he’s alright. i mean, i still wouldnt vote for the democratic party, but at least he has experience. alot of experience, but if the ticket were flipped around, it would make alot more sense.

Posted by: tim | August 23, 2008, 11:05 am 11:05 am

With this pick, BHO has now proven and publically accepted his lack of experience and judgement. Wright’s words were right – Obama will say and do anything to win the election. Unlike McCain, Obama will put his aspiration to be presidet above the country.

Posted by: CJ | August 23, 2008, 11:07 am 11:07 am

I am so outraged. I was inclined to vote for him if he chose Clinton. NOW, no way…no how. He’s full of hubris and ignorance. And I’m gearing up for a McCain/Romney ticket. I’ve never voted Republican, but I’ll do so this year! What a poor decision…what a missed opportunity. Here, we’ve all been waiting to find out who it was…and he gives us a boring character like Biden. Had he picked Hillary, I would have felt conflicted and voted for their ticket simply because I cannot vote against her. But now, I don’t feel conflicted at all….and I no longer feel guilty for voting for McCain. This is nothing more than another slap in the face!

Posted by: Amber | August 23, 2008, 11:08 am 11:08 am

im simply taking what obama tells his supporters, and then what he does. how many times have you heard him say he will bring change to washington??? and now he picks a guy who has been there for 36 years? you dont think biden is going to tell him to just “go with it” when it comes to bringing “change” to washington? its just common sense. if he wanted change for washington, he would have picked a govenor,. thats all im saying. he tells you guys one thing, then does another. and you guys back him at every turn.

Posted by: tim | August 23, 2008, 11:08 am 11:08 am

Goes to show he’s just more of the same. He doesn’t care about unity. And I thought this was about “change”….Joe Biden has been in Washington longer than Hillary Clinton. Oh and Mr. Biden voted for the war in Iraq (something he drastically criticized Hillary for).

Posted by: Amber | August 23, 2008, 11:09 am 11:09 am

it wouldn’t make sense for various reasons, plus you are operating on the unstated premise that experience is the God of running for presidency, when sometimes a man who inspires confidence and good leadership is more important. That’s how King David took Saul’s job, for example.

Posted by: Edward | August 23, 2008, 11:09 am 11:09 am

BHO wants to hire Biden to give him on-job training. We Americans can not afford this inexperienced, naive and bone headed man as president. With BHOs’ radical and terrorist connection, he will not get ‘security clearance’ (if he dares to apply) then how can we let me to be our President?

Posted by: CJ | August 23, 2008, 11:11 am 11:11 am

If they want to bring up the plagiarism dustup from twenty years ago, then Biden will be quite quick to point out that at the same time he was accused of not properly citing a campaign speech, McCain was being rebuked for “poor judgement” by the ethics committee for being one of the Keating Five.
Biden not citing a speech, versus McCain taking money and free trips from a guy convicted of buying political influence (Keating’s successful bribes led to the the S&L scandal – the mortgage crisis of the 80′s). As a Democrat, I’ll take that fight any day.

Posted by: jhw539 | August 23, 2008, 11:11 am 11:11 am

jhW539: BHO is already digging his political grave by making personal attacks on the war hero McCain. This opens doors for McCain to get out of his pledge and bring Wright, Ayers, Farrakhan, Moss, Rezko and many others out of Obama’s dirty closet.

Posted by: CJ | August 23, 2008, 11:14 am 11:14 am

CJ: Cute. Waving the “war hero” flag, but no substantive response to the actual allegations (McCain took bribes and showed poor judgment as one of the Keating Five). And I’m afraid I agree with General Clark that getting shot down and sitting in a cage for 5 years is a commendable sacrifice in the service of your country, but exactly zero qualification for being president.
Any facts, or just “He was a POW and has a strong jawline!!11!!” boosterism? May as well vote for him because he still has hair.

Posted by: jhw539 | August 23, 2008, 11:17 am 11:17 am

The elitist and arrogant BHO showed NO RESPECT to Hillary during this VP selection process. It is going to back fire big time. The Hillary supporters will overwhelmingly vote for the better candidate McCain (Hillary would have been the best candidate).

Posted by: CJ | August 23, 2008, 11:18 am 11:18 am

I really despise that whole “he’s got a mouth on him” line that is going to run rampant in the media for the next several months. They’ve tagged the running mate, stuck their lousy label on him and will filter history and all statements according to their defective thesis that “the guy has a mouth”. Hey, who gave any of you the right to decide who has a mouth? Did he decide “you got a mouth on you, boy”? No, and the description could just as easily be respun into “he has the courage to speak up and say what he thinks, even if he sometimes expresses his thoughts in ways that the malicious media likes to twist. How is that different? Only in its negative or positive judgment.

Posted by: Edward | August 23, 2008, 11:19 am 11:19 am

jhw…
it shows character. you’re right, it dosnt qualify him to become preident, but you HAVE to know the canidates history! you have to be able to make a judgement in their character. what they have been through and accomplished. so, being a war hero dosnt make him a shoe in, but it definatly helps make a judjment on his character. a ver important thing to do.

Posted by: tim | August 23, 2008, 11:21 am 11:21 am

Picking Biden will hurt BHO even more. It shows own admittance to lack of experience and proves that he is afraid of dealing with Putins of the world. He hopes to hide behind Biden when dealing with Iran, Russia, China etc.
What a lame duck BHO is.

Obama Biden
“2 guys…2 gaffe machines”

Posted by: st | August 23, 2008, 11:29 am 11:29 am

I will never get how those who supported Hillary can jump off the Demoboat and swim for McCain. That seems retarded since the philosophy, beliefs, platforms and background of Hillary is antithetical to that of McCain, and is actually similar to Obama’s outlook on America. I can only hope there are not that many people silly enough to go from backing Hillary to backing McCain.

Posted by: Edward | August 23, 2008, 11:29 am 11:29 am

Around that time, Biden in an interview with the Huffington Post, he assessed Obama and Hillary Clinton: “The more people learn about them (Obama and Hillary) and how they handle the pressure, the more their support will evaporate.”

Hillary had always been 2-3 steps ahead of BHO (bone headed Obama) in rolling out detailed policies on economy, energy, security, foreign etc. BHO is an empty suite and will remain empty.

Quotes from both of them recently:

Posted by: st | August 23, 2008, 11:34 am 11:34 am

You seem to have BHO’s judgement in calling the people who put their country before their party. Anybody voting for BHO must first think about his character, the company he keeps (Ayers, Wright, Farrakhan, Moss, Rezko, Pfleger …) and then ask a question to yourself – if BHO can not obtain security clearance how can he be our President?

Posted by: CJ | August 23, 2008, 11:36 am 11:36 am

All you do is attack Obama, and your arguments are inevitably spurious or otherwise fallacious. You use guilt by association in your last attack, but that is very unfair, especially if we were to look at McCain associates, but I would not do that because I think we should look at what he says and thinks (not much there) to make our decision. It’s the same with the way you select what defines character. Vote McCain because he got shot down from being a bad pilot and didn’t know how to sneak past the enemy in the jungle? Eisenhower was a five star general and managed an entire war campaign, those are credentials I would by as valuable military experience, and Eisenhower was an able statesman, but to vote for some marine who graduated at the bottom of his class and married some beer campaigning money to get into the senate, well, you spin it how you want and I suppose I’ll do the same.

Posted by: Edward | August 23, 2008, 11:36 am 11:36 am

Now that BHO does not need the black vote (as he will never win the southern red states), he is trying the smoke and mirror tacticts to attract white vote. It is going to back fire big time. BHO has a false sense that he can fool everybody but forgets that the TRUE Americans will never put the party above the country.

Posted by: CJ | August 23, 2008, 11:39 am 11:39 am

Is BHO ready to take the challenge of passing a ‘security clearnace’ test? Do you really think he will pass? NO WAY. I hope you know what a ‘security clearnace’ is.

@dl: or if Obama loses …right or wrong …chances are Hillary is going to take the hit unfortunately for her senate seat
That line isn’t going to fly. Hillary supporters will vote for her to spite you after this election. Obama supporters will be denying they were after he loses just as republicans have been carefully scraping the W stickers off of their SUVs.
Meanwhile, desperately and spitefully, you’ll keep insulting the one voting block Obama has to have to win if those registration drives don’t produce enough supporters for Obama. And they won’t.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a campaign or a candidate so determined to adopt the smug chin in the air strategy of arrogance that he’d rather be The One than win. It’s nuts and THAT is what the voters are perceiving that is driving down his numbers. They don’t care for the snotty kids who think they are entitled and pitch fits when they don’t get their way.
His own supporters are defeating him.

Posted by: len | August 23, 2008, 11:44 am 11:44 am

CJ, what are you going on about security clearance? You’ve been watching too many action spy thriller movies and too much CSI Miami or whatever those silly shows are that sell the kind of mentality that has struck you ill. My answer to you is very clear and very simple: YES, of course Obama is a “True” American in the sense that he loves his country and is not a “domestic terrorist” as guys like you think every other person is. Hey, that New Yorker cover was a joke, please take it off your wall and stop believing Obama will burn a flag on day one in the oval office.

Edward: Here are some excertps from Obama’s Resume/Quals – You Decide:
• Obama calls small town hard working Americans – bitter people who cling to religion and guns to express their frustration.
• Obama says – “I would not punish my daughters with babies”
• For 20+years Obama is friends with anti-American, racial radicals like his anti-American Pastor and a former Pentagon bomber – Weather Underground William Ayers and another radical Louis Farrakhan
• Obama voted “Present” to a bill that would stop “Adult Porn Shops” from opening up next to our children’s schools
• Obama knew that his church gave life time achievement award to Farrakhan who says ‘Judaism is a gutter religion’ and also knew that his pastor visited Lyba’s terror monger Gaddaffi.
• In order to come clean he threw his grand mother under the bus. Compared her private statements with his pastor’s public bashing of America, Called his grand mother (who raised him) a ‘Typical White Person’. HOW LOW can you GO?
• Obama does not wear American flag lapel pin, he does not believe in holding his hand on his heart for national anthem.
• Michelle Obama says: For the first time in her adult life she is proud of this country and AMerica is a mean country.
• Obama made statements about NAFTA in Ohio to fool the voters and provided behind the door assurance to Canada that his statements should not be taken seriously.
• Obama requested $1 million in federal funding in 2006 for a new pavilion at the University of Chicago Hospitals where his wife, Michelle Obama, was a vice president at the time and Michelle’s salary went up to 320K (from 121K) within weeks after Obama became senator.
• Obama claimed he did not friendly relationship with Rezko but later acknowledged that he had met him many times including at each others homes. He also attended a party in honor of a billionaire Nadhmi Auchi who used to be ‘close friends’ of Saddam Hussein.
• Obama is endorsed by New Black Pather Party which is an extremist hate group
• Lied to American public on national TV that he was never in the pews during the anti-American, non-patriotic statements made by his pastor an in his ‘great speech’ agreed that he was in the pews.
• Obama is involved with Tony Rezko for years even after he knew all about his corruption and ties with the UK’s corrupt businessman who helped terrorists. He admitted recently that Rezko contributed 250K for his presidential bid and not 60K as told by Obama earlier.

Posted by: CJ | August 23, 2008, 11:52 am 11:52 am

What proof do you have to prove that Obama is patriotic? All his associations, text from his own book suggest otherwise. do you just take BHO’s word for it? I am not that dumb and nor do the TRUE Americans.

Posted by: CJ | August 23, 2008, 11:55 am 11:55 am

CJ, nobody needs to “google security clearance” in regards to Obama. Evidently you don’t get it. You want me to think Obama is an unpatriotic possible domestic terrorist who cannot pass “security clearance”? No further comment to you about this, but you are wasting everyone’s time with your wild-eyed right-wing gobbledygook.

Posted by: Edward | August 23, 2008, 11:55 am 11:55 am

BHO’s radical views and terrorist associations might be distractions for you but they do matter a lot to for us TRUE Americans to ensure that such a radical person can not be our President. BHO will lose the election and then later his senate seat too.

Posted by: CJ | August 23, 2008, 11:57 am 11:57 am

Edward: Again you are showing your ignorance. Security Clearance is not to prove that you are terrorist. It is to prove that you do not have any past associations with radicals, terrorist and you can be trusted with the ‘classified’ information.

You can not win in a bar fight without kicking someone in the down and dirty and this is a down and dirty bar fight, and so far, Obama does not want to kick or hit anyone. I want to see Obama hit McCain where it hurts. He must attack him and the republicans where it hurts them. Show American how dirty republicans really are. We need to see some blood. So much for change? When will the left realize that Clinton is a better candidate for them. Obama screwed them over when the Senior Dems Mentor Program failed to get their own men Dole and Biden. Obama was the backup, included to take the African-American vote. All was part of the key plan: Get the woman out! Dems leadership screwed themselves and us, underestimating bigtime the Clinton appeal, thinking the African-American vote was enought.

Hey, I’m not voting for McCain, because my party has let us down. Bush, our leader has given the Dems the Congress. We had it all Delay, Cheney, Cunningham all Crooks and they took us down. More so Bush with Gonzales, Rumsfeld all villians with Power to push our Republican agenda and it has failed. From the Lies to get us in Iraq to the lies of Libby and Bush. I’m sick of our party and I know McCain would try to clean up our Right Wing, but serious..we can’t afford to take a chance with McCain. It will only get worse. Go for the Change and Chance. After all we took a chance with Bush and we are still swallowing his garbage. Right Wing, moving over to Obama. Sorry Old man..

What’s the deal with Obama supporters running against ex-Presidents and soon to be ex-Presidents?
1. Keep punching Bill Clinton and telling Hillary to get a divorce or else. Wow. What a nice strategy. Such family values.
2. Keep insulting a war hero and the biggest most reliable voting bloc, senior citizens. That oughta put Obama over the top. Oh, tell them about your plans to take apart the military and convert them to civil engineers while you’re at it. That’s a defense we can believe in.
3. Keep telling the Boomers the Millenials are taking over. The Boomers are your bosses except in the Valueless Valley outside San Francisco. There, they are your owners. But hey, we like nasty kids. They remind us of … Us.
What a disciplined campaign you are running. It has all the snap of the Brown Shirts and all the smell of Altamont. Real geniuses.

‘obama – biden: 2 guys, 2 houses.’
good one.
of course, it might not be a good idea for the obama campaign to bring up the subject of houses when obama bought his own house in a shady deal with the financial assistance and personal favors of a convicted felon and noted chicago political sleazebag who currently is under indictment on still more corruption charges.
must not have been the tony rezko that obama thought he knew. or perhaps that decision to buy was above his pay grade.

High Strangeness Obama and McCain political ads.
Watching the random political adds showing up it first appears to be an Obama or McCain ad but then a few strange twists leaves one wondering did the Obama campaign do an ad for McCain and the McCain campaign do an ad for Obama? Or is it some others?
Are some creating the appearance of being from a certain source only to disparage in subtle ways?

Posted by: Richard Thomas | August 23, 2008, 12:11 pm 12:11 pm

For those of you who want us to prove that Obama is a patriot, I have this to say, Prove that McCain wasn’t brain washed by the commies when he was held captive. Or this, prove that George Bush didn’t kill someone. You can’t. My point is this: It’s impossible to prove someone didn’t do something, but that is why someone must be proven guilty instead of them proving they are innocent.

Posted by: The Unshrub | August 23, 2008, 12:12 pm 12:12 pm

Unshrub, I had the same thought and agree with you, but the entire mentality of a certain portion of “national security Americans” operates on the premise that you are guilty until proven innocent. You know, you must have something to hide if you mind our looking at your personal records and conversations, we wouldn’t have arrested and have the “domestic terrorist” held in our detainee prison if he weren’t guilty, etc etc just like the way the Soviet Union worked, or the Third Reich. They sacrifice individualism and personal liberty for the :safety” of the nation. My butt, they are dupes who have fallen for the scare rhetoric of those who want all the power over the individual. And it relates to that whole, “prove you are a patriot” mentality.

No question that Biden is to Obama what Cheney is to Bush. It appears that to this loyal and honest democrat that the Democrats have lost there heads AGAIN with Obama. First the feeding frenzy of hatred towards Bush and now the feeding frenzy of love towars Obama. Ten minutes of HONEST research on the internet about Obama and any honest person can see that the American public will never elect this empty suit.

Posted by: domingo | August 23, 2008, 12:22 pm 12:22 pm

Obama had three major blunders last week that the media failed to report. (1) His campaign had to admit he lied about why he voted against the born alive bill (2) Obama stated that the infrastructure of China was far “superior” to the US. (3) Obama compared Russia’s invasion of Georgia to the US invasion of Iraq.

Posted by: tim | August 23, 2008, 12:22 pm 12:22 pm

So, Barack “followers” what do you say to your “One” basically admitting that he has zero foreign policy experience credentiala need to be President? What do you say to his false promise of “CHANGE”? The more important question is, “Do you think at all?”. This pick is a shame to me because I LOVE Joe Biden. Always have. It makes me cringe now to see him paired with such an empty suit politician. It is beneath Joe to be beneath Barack. But, this is politics; not much actually makes sense. This Democrat is still voting McCain. He is, after all, better friends with Joe Biden.

You’re going to see a lot of Joe Biden saying that the country would be better off with John McCain than with Barack Obama, and that Obama is not ready to be President.
This is just too good.

Posted by: drjohn | August 23, 2008, 12:33 pm 12:33 pm

Barack Obama has made all the right judgement calls: Iraq..set a timetable, now a reality; Afghanistan…add more troops and go after BinLaden in Pakistan, becoming a reality; Georgia…involve NATO and European heads of state, now working. Conversely, McCain has blustered, bumbled and falsely claimed credit.
Now we have Obama-Biden; Joe Biden is broadly acknowledged to be, as Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, the most knowledgeable Senator in Washington on foreign leaders and foreign policy, plus he is polite, fair minded and is a man of integrity.
America finally will get to rejoin the world community. Is there a better option in November?

Here are some of BHO’s lies, misjudgments and boneheaded decisions and flip-flops.
• BHO has AUDACITY TO HOPE that Americans will not look at the character of the person to be president and he will be able to mislead them with his smoke and mirror tactics and speeches.
• BHO claims to have good JUDGEMENT, but contradicts himself by keeping relationships with anti-Americans, terror-mongers and racists for 20+ years
• BHO claims to be the MESSIAH of HOPE, but says ‘people cling to religion and cling to guns’ out of frustration. Is BHO equating Americans to ‘terrorists’ where the terrorists usually claim that they ‘cling’ to religion and guns out of frustration and economic woos?
• BHO claims to be a UNITER, but always tried to divide America on RACE and ECONOMIC INEQUALITIES
• BHO Says he is PRO-LIFE, but also said that he would not PUNISH his daughters with babies.
• BHO claims to be INTELLIGENT and EXPERIENCED but proves that he is DUMB and NAÏVE by rolling out plan WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING the real situation by visiting the war zone and getting briefed by the Generals on ground who know the best.
• BHO talk about leveling fields as a non-politician. BHO entered public office not by leveling the playing field, but by clearing it. BHO back stabbed his friend and mentor Alice Palmer by nullifying Palmer’s nominating petitions, forcing her to withdraw.

Government cannot help poor people. FDR tried it with The New Deal and LBJ tried it with The Great Society. You know what has helped poor people? Capitalism. Poor people in America have a better standard of living than most people in the world. In fact, I would venture to guess that America’s poor are among the top ten wealthiest people worldwide.
The same is true for peace. The UN was created to prevent wars. Have they? No! However, when countries intertwine themselves economically, they are a lot less likely to go to war. Again, capitalism to the rescue.
Therefore, if peace and prosperity are your top goals, you need to vote for the party that promotes capitalism. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case with the Democrats since JFK.

As you know any professional that seeks to work on any DOD/Government contract/position that may provide access to ‘classified’ or ‘national security related information’ requires a ‘security clearance’ where they scrutinize your background for current and past associations/friends/relatives, where they live and their current and past associations too. Getting ‘Top security clearance’ is even harder. Knowing Obama’s radical views and terrorist/anti-American friendships, do you think Obama will get ‘security clearance’? I do not think so. In that case how can he run for President of USA and Commander-In-Chief?
This is an important issue and may answer many of Obama supporters who take an issue with giving importance to the ‘character’ and ‘judgment’.

Yeah, Joe Biden of foreign policy experience that wanted to give $200 million to those Arab Iranians after 9-11. LMAO! Iranians are Persians and it would be just like someone with soooo much foreign policy knowledge to want to pacify a terrorist nation with money and not military strength.
He is going to appear like a giant bobble head doll standing next to THE ONE. If this is to demonstrate Hope and Change what a laugh! Non compos mentis is my mantra on THE ONE’S choice.
I would like the thank the DNC for providing us with the most laughter we have had in this nation in such a long time. Is this a SNL skit or is this reality? I cannot tell the difference! LMAO AGAIN!

BHO’s lies, misjudgments, boneheaded decisions and flip-flops: (Part 1)
• BHO is trying to court the PRO-LIFE Americans by lying about his voting record, but also publically said that he would not PUNISH his daughters with babies.
• BHO was DEFENDING Wright’s anti-American, racist rants until his lack of credibility was exposed by Mr. Wright when he said “Obama had to say what he said as a politician”, thus bringing BHO down to the ORDINARY politician level where he really belongs.
• BHO claims to be ‘TRUE’, but he is full of lies like – he never opposed hand guns, He never heard Mr. Wright making the incendiary quotes, He never said – he will not wear flag lapel pin, He is against NAFTA but had his adviser meet privately with the Canadian government to assure them he didn’t really mean what he said about NAFTA and the list goes on and on
• BHO wants us to BELIEVES in CHANGE, but the kind of CHANGE he is really talking about is to go down to his knees to negotiate unconditionally to Iran’s Ahmadinejad, Hamas and other terrorist groups.
• BHO’s claims to be a STRONG speaker – but only when he is reading a teleprompter. Look at his goofs when there is no such aid available – “I have been to 57 states and 1 to go” or “veterans who lost there lives, some of which are in the audience” or “Arabic translators taken from Iraq and sent to Afghanistan” or “he’d like to meet with “President Maliki” when he travels to Iraq.
• BHO is TOUGH enough to throw his grand mother under the bus, but he neither has GUTS to repudiate his anti-American, racist pastor nor has GUTS to vote NO to stop Adult Porn Shops from opening up next to our children’s schools.
• BHO took 20 years to finally accept that his pastor is an anti-American. BHO is an opportunistic liar.
• BHO Claims to be a PATRIOT, but refuses to wear flag lapel pin and his wife Michelle says: For the first time in her adult life she is proud of this country and America is a mean country
• BHO claims to be the better Commander-in-Chief, but how can he get that position if he can not even obtain the Top Security Clearance?
• BHO says WORDs MATTER, but is always short of words and steals them from others and constantly demands the people whom he insults to give him the benefit of the doubt for his misspeaks.
• He says he is Washington Outsider, but admitted in the debate that his campaign played negative tactics against Clinton in PA. BHO has more Washington Insiders endorsing him thus OWEs to them something that will MAKE HIM BIGGEST WASHINGTON INSIDER.

Biden will not help Obama’s performance in the polls. Face it, people have already dug in and made up their minds, and they have made up their minds that they will not support Barack Obama. They don’t like him, they don’t trust him, they don’t have that “warm and fuzzy” feeling of familiarity, warmth, and a comfortable sense of identity with this man. McCain is a known quantity, and right or wrong, he is known as an independent person who is a maverick and has worked across the isle and gone against his own party. Obama, doesn’t have any sense of identity, he can’t and doesn’t even try really, to connect to the masses. And guess what, you need the masses to win an election. Hillary’s supporters, of which I am one, have dug in. They aren’t going to support Obama no matter what. Now they might not vote for McCain, but in all liklihood, they will probably just not bother to vote at all. And that can really hurt the down ticket Dems. Republicans will support McCain simply because Obama is a worse propect. We shot ourselves in the foot. And we will get what we deserve because of it. John McCain.

Even the Obama campaign needs to leave him alone, they shouldn’t worry or wonder if he will help or hurt otherwise they shouldn’t have selected him, period. It is only in the USA rational people like Obama and Biden has question marks over them. The lunatics like McCain pass off as some patriotic bastard everyone should love. Certainly every country has their own bastards but they need to make sense but McCain takes the biscuit, for he’s a class of his own in rank stupidity.
The USA need to resell itself to the world. That even the USA can even still look at McCain as the one to sell USA to the world is in itself a complete idiocy and out of touch with reality. Only a country that wants to accelerate it own down fall can think in that direction.
McCain has got absolutely nothing to offer other than some tried tired and irrational dead ideas.

Obama can’t tell the same story twice and cant speak without a teleprompter telling him what to say. He kisses up to a radical that tried to blow up the pentagon and congress, and blew up police stations and brags about it, has a minister that hates america and went to the biggest elitist university around. He overtly and subtley used gender bias to his own advantage and when it would really help him he would throw the race card at anyone who said anything negative against him. I liked Joe Biden but my opinion of him has gone down the drain the moment he said “yes” to being Barack Obama’s running mate.

No foreign experience, very little national experience and totally out of touch with the American middle working class. Then he picks a guy who has been in the Senate for 30 years. Yes, sir that is real change. In truth he is nothing but hot air and trying to make the American people think he is another John F. Kennedy. My 19 year old son has as much experience to be President as Barack Obama does.

The only person shares money with his himself and his corrupt puppet master handlers like Rezko. He raises taxes (and has voted to raise taxes on all making $32,000 or more a year) to pay for scams like building faulty dangerous public housing that his puppet handlers make millions/billions $$$$$ off of and then pay him under the table. Voting for Obama to raise someone’s taxes thinking is going to help the poor is a scam. Obama is a scam. If you want to donate to charity, donate your own money to charity just ensure it isn’t a scam like Obama supports.

16% said they were more likely to vote for Al Gore in 2000 after he chose Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman. In 1992, Gore gave Bill Clinton much more clout — 33 percent said they were more likely to vote for Clinton because of his running mate selection.
We know the history …only Clinton won the GE.

If Joe really thinks he can support abortion and be a good Catholic – he’s a fool and a liar.

Biden provides familiarity and gravitas to the ticket. For those intrigued by Obama but have reservations because he is less familiar Biden will add some comfort. Biden is well known highly respected both at home and abroad.
Obama/Biden will improve Americas image around the world.

I read these supposed opinions and there are so many disingenuous remarks, but what should I expect?! This chat is just politics, where accountability doesn’t count and inverted hyperbole passes for sincere home spun humor. One liar even said he was a Dem going over to vote Rep for the first time. Oh, yea, right, and he had such big issues with Geo Bush. Hey, you want it sraight, say it straight. Try that for a change, because unless we go bi-partisan, everybody loses.

A week ago you couldn’t have paid us to vote for Obama, but now he has shown that he really does have good judgment by selecting Joe Biden for VP. Now we will both be there for the ticket because with Joe Biden on board we know that the country would be in good hands.
We volunteered for Joe in Iowa and he was wise and genuine and wonderful. I will now not only vote for Obama/Biden but will likely volunteer to work for the campaign as well.

I have voted dem every election – except I did vote for Schwarzenegger- since 1972. Now I will vote for McCain. I will vote Dem downticket but not for Barry O. I can’t stand him, he is a joke, half baked fake creation of the Daley machine. I have detested him and his more disgusting wife from the beginning. Go back to Illinois. In fairness to the people there they had no choice – him or Keyes. I feel sorry for them. He will lose in a landslide. I will not feel safe if he is elected. Our enemies are waiting to test him. He will be the liberal Bush – another incompetent unqualified joke.

These two gaffe machines were meant for each other! LOL, this will be a laughable convention if nothing else.
First Obama calls Biden ‘The next president of the United States’ then it’s Biden’s turn to shine by calling Obama, ‘Barack Amer…Obama’, LOL
All of this hoopla to elect the next democrat losers!!

I was really offended with the opening sentence of Joe Biden’s VP acceptance speech last night. I quote “This has been a h— of a week.” Also at least two times he used God’s name in vain. Is this the kind of rhetoric we are going to have to listen to over the next two months? He may not drink or smoke but he could use a little more class in his oratory and a little less profanity in public speaking.
