McCain Ad Rips Obama on Rezko

ABC News’ Teddy Davis and Arnab Datta Report: The McCain campaign is responding to Sen. Barack Obama’s, D-Ill., "housing" attack with an ad that goes after the Illinois Democrat for his ties to convicted land developer Tony Rezko.

"If you want to talk about a housing problem," McCain spokesman Brian Rogers tells ABC News, "Sen. Obama certainly has one when he bought his million dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon."

"That’s a house that he could not have bought without Mr. Rezko’s actions," said Rogers. "It raises questions about his judgment. And you know it is an issue that we think the American people care far more about than how many houses or properties or dog houses that John and Cindy McCain have."

The McCain campaign is not disclosing how much money it is planning to put behind its Rezko ad but vows that it will air on broadcast television in "key states."

The ad from Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., follows an Obama ad attacking the presumptive GOP nominee for directing a question about how many homes he owns to his staff.

"I think — I’ll have my staff get to you," McCain told Politico in Las Cruces, N.M. "It’s condominiums where — I’ll have them get to you."

The Obama campaign responded to McCain’s ad by pointing to a report by the Annenberg Public Policy Center’s Fact Check, stating "as the McCain campaign desperately tries to find out how many houses John McCain owns, they are launching thoroughly debunked attacks.  Barack Obama offered the best price of any bidder in the market for his home – the only home he owns."

The full McCain ad attacking Obama on Rezko can be seen here.  The script is below.

Script For "Housing Problem" (TV :30)

ANNCR: Barack Obama knows a lot about housing problems.

One of his "biggest fundraisers" helped him buy his million-dollar mansion.

Purchasing part of the property he couldn’t afford.

From Obama, Rezko got "political favors" including "14 million from taxpayers."

Now, he’s a convicted felon, facing jail.

That’s a housing problem.

JOHN MCCAIN: I’m John McCain and I approved this message.

Rezko is a dead issue. That’s like talking about the Keating 5. Voters don’t care.

Obama soooooo shouldn’t have gone there. Cindy owns these properties and if I were McCain I wouldn’t be counting them either…..but a criminally complicated purchase of a mansion and empty lot….when Rezko is going to be sentenced on Sept 2….now that’s more newsworthy!

The Rezko story will haunt Obama now that he opened the door for McCain to attack him using this. Remember Rezko is to be sentenced early September. McCain can also add in Rezko’s defunct public housing projects (with public tax money that Obama gave him) — 11 of them are in Obama’s district. Obama has a much bigger housing problem than McCain.

Of course Rezco is a “dead issue” for the left. There more interested in how many houses McCain & wife own rather than million dollar deals made through convicted felons.

Obama really stepped in it today. The fact that McCain waited to unleash this until provoked by the Lamb shows exactly how restrained his “negative” ads have been.

Wasn’t it Renko who cause the collapse of the U.S. Savings and Loan Industry. Oh wait, no, that was John McCain’s best friend Charles H. Keating, Jr. I wonder how many innocent American’s lost their entire lives savings with the help of John McCain? And then there is DHL and Boeing Air Tanker. Now I wonder how many Americans lost their jobs because of John McCain? But Johnny can’t remember how many houses he owns.

John McCain is a punk. Always has been. The (insert C-word)’s money has been able to buy him a life, but truth be known, he really is just a punk. He doesn’t have balls enough to campaign on real issues because he can’t garner enough support to win on the real issues. He’s a $1500 suit walking around in $500 shoes and he’s going to punk this country given the opportunity.

It does not help you to lie for your Political Jesus, or you deny to admit what you know of being the truth.
Just to refresh you memory that is not sufficient for your tiny brain: Rezko and wife helped 0-bama to purchase his Mansion because otherwise 0-bama has not yet deceived enough money from his books from you to be able to purchase it alone. Then, 0-bama purchased the land that Rezko bought, in helping him buying the house without being caught of bribery, at below market value.
All these were done at a time when Rezko was known being indicted criminally, which has since been convicted and will be sentenced on September 4.
It’s a perfect blend of criminals, money, land deals, deception, and kick backs. If you ask why would Rezko help his buddy, the “honorable” freshman Senator from Illinois, you can count how many housing projects Rezko has obtained from the legislations that 0-bama has helped to bring back to “his” district.

This is what Wikipedia says about McCain’s involvement in the Keating Five scandal. The scandal that caused the savings and loan crisis in the late 1980′s. The crisis that caused thousands of innocent American’s to loose their life savings. (Even if McCain wasn’t guilty it certainly gives reasons to question his judgement.)
QUOTE: “McCain and Keating had become personal friends following their initial contacts in 1981.[8] Between 1982 and 1987, McCain had received $112,000 in lawful[14] political contributions from Keating and his associates.[15] In addition, McCain’s wife Cindy McCain and her father Jim Hensley had invested $359,100 in a Keating shopping center in April 1986, a year before McCain met with the regulators. McCain, his family, and their baby-sitter had made nine trips at Keating’s expense, sometimes aboard Keating’s jet. Three of the trips were made during vacations to Keating’s opulent Bahamas retreat at Cat Cay. McCain did not pay Keating (in the amount of $13,433) for some of the trips until years after they were taken, when he learned that Keating was in trouble over Lincoln.[6][16]”
Even though he wasn’t found guilty of anything, it sure does seem like McCain was in bed with this guy. As they say, where there is smoke, there usually is fire.

“Obama Engaged In Deal With Convicted Felon To Get Deal On House That Had Four Fireplaces And A Wine Cellar:
Obama Paid $300,000 Less Than The Asking Price For His Mansion, While Tony Rezko’s Wife Paid Full Price For A Vacant Lot Next Door On The Very Same Day. “Two years ago, Obama bought a mansion on the South Side, in the Kenwood neighborhood, from a doctor. On the same day, [Antoin 'Tony'] Rezko’s wife, Rita Rezko, bought the vacant lot next door from the same seller. The doctor had listed the properties for sale together. He sold the house to Obama for $300,000 below the asking price. The doctor got his asking price on the lot from Rezko’s wife.” (Tim Novak, “Obama And His Rezko Ties,” Chicago Sun-Times, 4/23/07)
The Seller Of Obama’s Home “Wanted To Sell Both Properties At The Same Time.” “On the same day Obama closed on his house, Rezko’s wife bought the adjacent empty lot, meeting the condition of the seller who wanted to sell both properties at the same time.” (Brian Ross and Rhonda Schwartz, “The Rezko Connection,” ABC News’ “The Blotter” Blog, abcnews.go.com, 1/10/08)
Obama Later Purchased A Portion Of Rezko’s Land For $104,500; It Was Valued At $40,500. “Later, the Obamas bought a 10-foot-by-150-foot piece of the lot for $104,500. An appraisal put the value of the strip at $40,500, a spokesman said, but Obama considered it fair to pay one-sixth of the original price for one-sixth of the lot.” (Peter Slevin, “Obama Says He Regrets Land Deal With Fundraiser,” The Washington Post, 12/17/06)
Rezko Was Convicted Of Wire And Mail Fraud, Money Laundering, And Aiding And Abetting Bribery. “A federal jury today convicted developer Antoin ‘Tony’ Rezko of corruption charges for trading on his clout as a top adviser and fundraiser to Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Rezko’s guilty verdict on 16 of 24 corruption counts could have broad repercussions for Blagojevich, who made Rezko a central player in his kitchen cabinet. It could also prove a political liability for U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, who once counted Rezko as a friend and fundraiser, as the likely Democratic presidential nominee heads into the general election campaign against Republican John McCain. … The jury convicted Rezko of wire and mail fraud, money laundering and aiding and abetting bribery. He was acquitted of attempted extortion.” (Bob Secter and Jeff Coen, “Rezko Convicted Of Corruption,” Chicago Tribune, 6/4/08)
NOTE: The 3 Story House Has Four Fireplaces And A Wine Cellar. “When Obama and his wife, Michelle, a hospital executive, decided to move with their two young girls from their Hyde Park condominium, they chose a spacious three-story Georgian revival home on a tree-lined street in the Kenwood neighborhood, not far from the University of Chicago. The owner had listed the house — nearly 100 years old, with four fireplaces and a wine cellar — and an adjacent lot as separate parcels.” (Peter Slevin, “Obama Says He Regrets Land Deal With Fundraiser,” The Washington Post, 12/17/06)”

Keating 5 will not be an issue for McCain. IT was more the 20 years old. McCain has done so much for this country, and his achievements in senate has already help him regain people’s trust and respect. But Obama has nothing — has no record, no achievements. His questionable associates will come out as big headache for him. He has not gained people’s trust (including me). No matter how sound his policies he tout to be, I just don’t feel he deserves Americans giving him the president job. He didn’t earn it!!!

Rezko is not a “dead issue.” It’s a part of Obama’s political past that is real and was never fully investigated by the “in the tank” for Obama media. I think those seeing the ad will question his judgement, and it doesn’t matter if people who have time to blog think it is a dead issue. It matters what people sitting in front of the TV eating dinner and watching TV think.

The real issue here is that ONLY THE WEALTHY CAN RUN FOR PRESIDENT, in this country.
Every candidate who ran for President this year is worth A LOT MORE than the average American.
People who complain about Obama’s perk, the $300,000 discount are just as stupid as the people who complain about the many properties that are owned by the McCain’s, just like they were stupid to criticize Edwards over a $400 media production expense, even though they didn’t criticize Romney over his $300 make-up jobs, Obama over his expensive suits, Hillary Clinton over her $6,000 hair and make-up jobs, or Clinton Obama and Dodd for receiving campaign contributions from the Hedge Fund that Edwards worked for.
ALL CANDIDATES HAVE MORE MONEY THAN MOST OF US DO, therefore, their money should be NON-ISSUES.
The real issue here is the SYSTEM, that says that only WEALTHY PEOPLE have a right to become President.
Too bad most people aren’t astute enough to understand the underlying issue, here.

What more ethical standards for a legislature to exemply to the public than purchasing his home ( though not revealed from Rezko but of course the conclusion could have been from him from their long friendship of give and take favors) and adjacent lot from Rezko’s wife. What more should every American voter think about choosing a presidential candidate who has the record and the propensity to use the publci office to gain financial gain. What more should every citizen of this country would conclude on how Obama’s ethics are standing to the time honored priciple of self integrity and honor. Pray tell, this country should have a review course on what is a good moral character.

Rev Otis Moss
Terrorist & Cop killer William Ayers
Terrorist Bernardine Dohrn
Felon Tony Rezko

Posted by: John | August 21, 2008, 6:55 pm 6:55 pm

the Rezko connection has already been exploited to death. It’s a dead story. And the point of Obama’s ad wasn’t houses, per se, it’s that John McCain is so rich and so out of touch that he doesn’t even KNOW how many properties the McCains own. Of course Cindy owns everything; she’s McCain’s sugah mamma. Plus it’s a great way for John McCain to dodge taxes.
The point is that John McCain lives a VERY luxurious lifestyle while opposing even a modicum of support for housing and health care for ordinary Americans. This guy is a bagman for the same corrupt characters who’ve been sucking on the public teat for the last eight years. Not to mention the fact that his age is really really showing. A lot.

I feel a vice presidential pick coming real soon to overshadow this little ad that is coming out. McCain could have not have picked a better time to open his big mouth. And Obama could have not picked a better time to release the ad which will probally end up being a day before he announces his pick. The damage from the ad running today will stick, and all media attention will shift to Obama’s pick rather than McCain’s rebuttal, which I think pretty much everyone in America already knows about Tony Rezko and know nothing about John McCain forgetting how many houses he owns.

McCain calls Obama an out of touch celebrity elitist and then runs an ad about how he got into a house he couldn’t afford?
Can’t have it both ways John. They guy is either an elitist or can’t afford a house, but not both…at least not to the average voter.
All this noise and so little substance. How about asking ALL candidates to speak to the very serious problems we’re facing in this country and leave the fluff where it belongs?
Course then you’d have to convince the media to cover the substance rather than their favorite shiny new object as well.
Likely neither will happen and it’s killing our election process.

I warned Democrats NOT TO MAKE HOW MANY HOMES the McCains own the issue, simply because Obama has “ONE HOME,” because the question of how Obama actually RECEIVED THAT HOME would become the focus of all of this, which meant that Tony Rezko would become the focus.
When Rezko is brought out of the closet, expect Ayers and Khalidi to follow…SOON.

Can’t afford Obama’s taxes to spread the wealth and move towards socialism. Can’t afford Obama’s questionable alligence to THIS country. Can’t afford Obama’s anti-American associations.
McCain headquarters in Denver received a suspicious white powder in the mail today…cops and investigators all over the place….25 employees sent home.
WHO would do that? A crazy Obot.
Also, why don’t our late night comics ever take aim at Obama? Apparently Hillary and McCain are triple the jokes. White Liberal Guilt….geeze.

Those of you saying it’s a dead issue are obviously Obama supporters.
It is NOT a dead issue for those of us who are undecided or leaning somewhat towards McCain – but could still go either way.
I have to also say that Obama supporters have been a major turnoff even when I was ready and willing (nay, HOPING) to be convinced.

How many of the houses belong to Cindy as separate property? You men should know that we women know how to keep our assets and watch OUR money. While we are talking about houses, Obamas let a convicted felon buy there home. They should have waited and used the million dollars (from Obama’s books) that they, the Obamas placed in a TAX FREE fund; that way they could have paid for a house instead of relying on a crook. You Democrats who are always talking about McCain’s divorce should look in the mirror; more Democrat politicans have had extra marital relations than the average man: FDR, LBJ, Hart, all the Kennedys and one killed a lovely girl. Why not mention them in your post esp. Kennedy. By the way, he was also drunk and ran away.

Posted by: Fisher | August 21, 2008, 7:02 pm 7:02 pm

This is very damaging to McCain
By his own admission, he doesn’t know much about the economy.
He thinks the economy is in good shape.
He thinks you need $5 million dollars in order to be regarded as rich.
He doesn’t know how many houses he own.
His economic adviser thinks Americans are whining, that economic recession is in their minds.
He will need a miracle to extricate himself from the “out of touch” tag.

Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people “cling” to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who’s in touch with regular Americans?

Someone needs to get legal advise. If Cindy owned the homes prior to marriage or bought with her separate money, they are not community property so McCain himself does not own the, only the amount of value they have gone up since marriage.

Good luck and good night Obama. McCain isn’t nearly as bad for this country as you would be.
Nothing like wealth redistribution, eh guys? Thank God Obama is going to lose. Watch and see. His polls will plummet. With the amount of media coverage he gets, and getting a pass on virtually ever issue from the media, he should be 10 or more points ahead in the polls, but he remains virtually tied with McCain. I think people are waking up.

1. Obama was “helped” by REzco because the seller would only sell the adjacent land and house together, so Obama bought the house and the Rezco’s bought the land
2. Obama made two lower bids on the house which was on the market for 1.6 million. He eventually got it for 300,000 less than the asking price.
3. When he bought the adjacent land later from REzcos, he paid 1/6 the price Rezco paid for the land for 1/6 of the land.
How is this a problem, other than Rezco fooled everyone and is a crook?

If McCain’s involvement with the Keating Five is a dead issue, then so is Obama’s involvement with Tony Rezko. I heard about it months ago, someone thought he’d be finished off in short order, and he wasn’t. People are willing to give McCain a pass after the S&L bailout of the 1980s, and Charles Keating was no better than Tony Rezko. Can we PLEASE have some REAL issues, people?! And yes, I support Obama and plan on voting for his this November. I also agree with the guy who said a lot of politicians have made shady deals–remember Whitewater? Yet the Clintons perservered. Remember the Iran/Contra scandal? Didn’t hurt Reagan a bit (but then, not for nothing was he known as the “Teflon President”).

“As A State Senator, Barack Obama Wrote Letters To City And State Officials Supporting His Political Patron Tony Rezko’s Successful Bid To Get More Than $14 Million From Taxpayers To Build Apartments For Senior Citizens.” (Tim Novak, “Obama’s Letters For Rezko,” Chicago Sun-Times, 6/13/07)
The Letters Show That Obama Did Do A Political Favor For Rezko. “Obama’s letters, written nearly nine years ago, for the first time show the Democratic presidential hopeful did a political favor for Rezko – a longtime friend, campaign fund-raiser and client of the law firm where Obama worked – who was indicted last fall on federal charges that accuse him of demanding kickbacks from companies seeking state business under Gov. Blagojevich.” (Tim Novak, “Obama’s Letters For Rezko,” Chicago Sun-Times, 6/13/07)

It’s funny how the GOP posters think it was Obama that *opened a door*.
Nope… Obama did nothing wrong, or illegal, in buying his house. So, as usual McCain/the GOP is lying, and the sheep are buying.
But, there’s the Keating 5 issue… there’s the McCain’s not paying taxes on a California Property… there’s a lot of *goodies* on McCain’s plate.
If he was smart, he would’ve debated real issues, and let the people decide.
Instead, he’s chosen to go to bed with those that slimed him, in 2000.
The same people that slimed his child & his wife. What a weak-kneed shell of a man… and yes, I know he was shot down, like thousands of others. I’m not a jet pilot, but I could get shot down too.
I am a Vet, though, and have been played by the GOP/McCains, for too long.

So McCain will counter his confusion about how many houses he owns with futile attempts to link Obama to Rezko. Attempts already disproved in Rezko’s own recent trial.
Then Obama will counter with the much more serious linkage of Mr. Keating (McCain’s principal campaign contributor) to McCain – and how Keating went to prison for influencing McCain’s decisions, while McCain got a great big slap on the wrist from his colleagues in the Senate, for doing favors year after year after year for Mr. Keating.
That’s fine with me. Everyone needs to know about McCain’s well-documented and proven felonies.

Well, DaveS, if you have any intelligence whatsoever, you’d understand that:
1) THE MAJORITY of foreclosed homes in this country belonged to WHITE, MIDDLE-CLASS families (the rate of foreclosure is just higher in minority and low-income communities), and most of those people WORKED, but they couldn’t pay their mortages because…
2) their payments SHOT UP THROUGH THE ROOF OF NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN, so it’s not about PAYING your bills, since most of them paid theirs.
It’s about your bills INCREASING TO A NUMBER THAT YOU CAN NO LONGER AFFORD, of no fault of your own.
But, thanks for playing…YOURSELF.

Tony Rezko, his family, and his associates have spent years pouring thousands of dollars in campaign contributions into Barack Obama’s climb from the Illinois legislature to Capitol Hill and helped him raise tens of thousands more.
Everyone know that…
Now, since the great Obama has decided to bring the personal homes of John and Cindy McCain into the political spectrum of consideration, he needs to explain his and Michelle’s home and the Rezko connection to voters once a day from now until November 4.
Obama could start by explaining how Rezko got tangled in the purchase of the Obama family home.
Then, Obama could continue by explaining his other ties to Rezko, some of them going back more than 15 years.
Because of the findings of federal prosecutors, the Obama campaign has already had to return unwittingly accepted money generated by Rezko’s illegal activities.
And, the Obamabots want the Rezko questions to go away?
Yeah, right…

John McCain is bad for America. His has a low IQ and he is out of touch with reality, partly due to age.
The other day, he couldn’t define what it means to be rich, and most of his responses to serious questions were his one line campaign rhetoric. He’s been in Washington too long to make any difference even if he wanted to. After 8 years of GW making the US a laughing stock, It will be a sad day the day
America elects John McCain

Obama that crook did a land deal with Rezko while he was under investigation from the U.S attorney’s office.
Rezko’s shady dealings had been in the papers since 2003.
It was widely known at the time that Fitzgerland was investigating Rezko at the time.

I don’t see this as a dead issue. I think, with the press coverage of McCain, supporters outside the Democratic convention giving television interviews, McCain’s ads about Obama running all over the place…its going to take the fire out of the Democratic Convention.
Way to go, GOP!

Jimmy1LegRobibson…You ought to do something about that cough…Here this may help..Fact: The Keating Five involved 4 Dems and 1 Republican..Those that were cleared of any wrong doing were John Glenn (D) and John McCain (R) by the Senate Ethics Committee…People look up the facts of any accusations..most people will try to spin it to favor their candidate.

I really hope Obama does not win, I am SO sick of hearing, uh, about, uh, uh, him. Obama hints of supporting slave reparations and not wanting to “punish” his daughters if one of them had an unwanted pregnancy.

Some of my very outspoken liberal friends who hate Bush with a passion, and are usually nonstop talk in support for the democrat nominee(Kerry, Gore, Clinton), they never bring up Obama! Last time I heard watercooler chat was when Rev Wright was making his world press tour. I don’t bring up politics, because they are hard core, don’t like my candidate, I don’t like you, but no Obama defending! Makes me wonder?

ODE TO OBAMA OPUS 1
Now some think Obama’s a white knight
But really, he’s not all that bright.
Just bright enough to climb
Up the ladder with slime
Like Rezko, Ayers, and Wright,

“Obama couldn’t have bought that million home with Rezko’s help,”
Obama is a back-scratcher. Probably never did a hard day’s work.

Obama has been thoroughly acquitted of any criminal connection to Rezko…over and over and over again. All of American followed that one and knows how it came out. Obama’s staff says “you wanna do Rezko, we’ll do Keating 5, bring it on!” Now, McCain went before the ethics committee for his Keating 5 involvement, and Obama’s peeps have been sitting on a ton of tax records and documentation concerning the Keating 5 scandal, just waiting for the right moment to bring it out. McCain is incredibly stupid to threaten with the Rezko crap, he’s practically begging to have his criminal connections put on public display. What an unbelievably stupid man.

Obama has never been tried in court. The FBI still have an ongoing investigation.
Would it surprise anyone if right before Denver, Obama gets federally indicted and Hillary gets the nomination?

Hey man if the ad has no effect then why all the typing?
Could Obots be more obvious. Keating 5? He was cleared. But go ahead and bring this “knife” to a gun fight. There is still Ayers and Wright out here for Obama ads. Those would be “guns”.
I hope you bring it on because McCain has more ammo on Obama he just needs to be able to justify it like this attack.

McCain Aide Claims Letters a McCain Hoax

Posted by: Headline | August 22, 2008, 3:10 am 3:10 am

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) called lobbyists “birds of prey” Wednesday and vowed to enforce a lifetime ban on lobbying for members of his administration.
“Whenever there’s a corrupt system, then you’re going to have these birds of prey descend on it to get their share of the spoils,” McCain said in a half-hour interview with Politico following a town-hall meeting in the southern part of this swing state. […]
The senator went so far as to say: “Lobbyists don’t come to my office. Because they know they’re not going to be an earmark. They know they’re not going to get a pork-barrel project.”
Even by McCain standards, this is transparent nonsense. Putting aside the fact that McCain, like every other senator, has sought and received earmark, the reality is lobbyists do come to McCain’s office, and as a rule, once they get there, they’re given influential jobs in the McCain campaign.
McCain’s campaign manager is a lobbyist. His chief strategist is a lobbyist. His top foreign policy advisor is a lobbyist. The man he tapped to run the Republican convention is a lobbyist. His top two senior advisors are both lobbyists. His campaign is being financed by donations from lobbyists, bundled by other lobbyists.
In one rather dramatic anecdote, McCain actually had a corporate lobbyist conducting business directly aboard his campaign bus.
Of all the lobbyists involved in the McCain campaign, the most prominent is [Charles] Black, who has made a lucrative career of shuttling back and forth between presidential politics and big-time Washington lobbying…. [E]ven as Black provides a private voice and a public face for McCain, he also leads his lobbying firm, which offers corporate interests and foreign governments the promise of access to the most powerful lawmakers. Some of those companies have interests before the Senate and, in particular, the Commerce Committee, of which McCain is a member.
Black said he does a lot of his work by telephone from McCain’s Straight Talk Express bus.
By one count, McCain has at least 159 lobbyists, on leave from their firms, running his campaign operation. It’s why McCain has defended lobbyists and the lobbying industry over and over again.
“Whenever there’s a corrupt system, then you’re going to have these birds of prey descend on it to get their share of the spoils.” It sounds like the corrupt system McCain is describing is his own presidential campaign.

HEY, EVERYBODY!
Have you had any problems with access to affordable health care for you or your kids?
Are you better off than you were eight years ago?
Do you care about MOST OF US or just making sure that the top .8 percent of income earners pay NO TAXES via Queen Mary-sized loopholes for the wealthy and access to tax havens?
DO YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR FRIENDS?
Or are you looking for a way OUT of ACTUALLY STANDING UP FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS BACKBONE OF THIS COUNTRY?
Are there shadows within that block your view of how THE ISSUES EFFECT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY?
ARE YOU WILLING TO VOTE WITH THE INTERESTS OF THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS AT HEART?
Or are you afraid, divided from one another by the hate and fear mongers on the EXTREME RIGHT?
SIX MONTHS AGO, I MADE A PLEDGE TO MY BEST FRIEND.
I PROMISED TO TURN OFF FAR RIGHT (OR FAR LEFT – THOUGH THERE REALLY ISN”T ANY IN MY MARKET) RADIO . . .
AND EXAMINE THE ISSUE FOR MYSELF.
Having listened to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly for well over a decade, I SIMPLY HAD STOPPED QUESTIONING WHAT THEY SAID.
THEN, I read – right wing, left wing, centrist; Republican and Democratic, even Libertarian.
NOW . . .
I don’t care about THE HOMES, OR BRITNEY OR WHO’S WHITE/BLACK/OLD/YOUNG . . .
I care about:
=HEALTH CARE for my family
=THE ERODING INFRASTRUCTURE OF OUR COUNTRY
=ENDING THE IRAQ WAR
=PRESERVING OUR FREEDOMS
=ENERGY INDEPENDENCE
I could go on . . .
You ARE A PATRIOT NO MATTER WHO YOU VOTE FOR . . .
BUT PLEASE – JUST THIS YEAR . . .
Turn off the tripe and READ and REALLY PAY ATTENTION TO THE ISSUES . . .

There is plenty of ammunition left in the GOP weapons about Obama. It’s funny how the lefties want to start repeating the “old news” , or “move on” mantras when one of their heroes gets caught with his hand in the cookie jar. This time it won’t work! This is not “old news for many Americans who don’t pay a lot of attention to political news throughout the year. It along with all of the other baggage Obama has will stick like napalm to him and in the end the country will come to its senses and elect McCain.
The last thing we need in the white house is a glorified porch monkey with his America hating wife!

Shy doesn’t Obama rip McCain on his ties to crooked real estate developer Robert Diamond or on his ties to indicted Arizona congressman Renzi who was indicted for money laundering? What about McCain’s campaign staff being replete with tons of lobbyists?
Why doesn’t Obama get off his duff and attack McCain for all his corrupt ties? This is outrageous that McCain is getting the advantage on something like this where McCain is really vulnerable. Why isn’t the Keating 5 scandal ever brought up. McCain was only let off the hook because of the influence of Ronald Reagan and George HW Bush, not because he wasn’t guilty but because Republicans cover for their own.

“…uh francis, its not a problem of him having 7 houses, it’s more that Mr. Straigh Talker doesnt even know how many houses he owns – had to “check with his staff”. You are ok with that eh?”

Yep, Obama is a new kind of politician who ‘won’t resort to the low road” during the campaign.

Obama knows how many homes McCain owns (which he doesn’t really own), yet doesn’t know anything about the major nuclear dump site in Washington state?

Posted by: geevill | August 22, 2008, 10:30 am 10:30 am

Incredible! Looking outside the two housing bashings. Can any Obama supporters explain to me why they would vote for someone who has said he is intrigued by dictators and wants to meet with dictators from around the world to gain insight on their practices despite a UN ban? Or his constant voting recors and pro-choice voice saying he thinks that post birth abortions should be legalized? The fact that his campaign has thrown his minister and pre-election spiritual inspiration (though I really dont blame him, how can you possibly let your mentor for twenty years make people think you think like them when they are anit-american), his wife, and his “friends” who are facing felony charges under the bus. The fact that after a “legal” campaign contribution he flip flopped on his view on offshore drilling, which in turn caused Pelosi to have to flip-flop. McCain has his flaws, but comparing him to Bush is absolutely ridiculous, he won the Republican vote because he was nothing like Bush. And all those crying at the economy, o the economy look at pre-pelosi, post-pelosi, thats what I thought. Now Obama’s campaing has resorted to sending powder in an envelope?! And about throwing people under the bus what about the Muslim school which he attended for grade school?! Not to mention Obamas comments regarding his aunt who, “Is a typical white American, racists and feels everyone else is inferior…” Just wondering… if he’s surrounded by and influenced by anti-american, anti-white, pro-post-birth abortions, criminals, and will flip-flop on things he feels strongly about for money, then are you? Or do you just ignore Wright, Michelle, His schooling, his voting record, and his constant flip-flopping simultaneous to a spike in his contributions. Just give some insight on how your might contorts him to be a better canidate, if its anti-republican views, then re-check McCains voting record, and research economic fluctuations following the last house race. Vote for whats best, not out of spite.

Senior Citizen McCain has forgotten about his affairs, his admitting to falsifying tax returns (gifts from Keating). Wait until people find out his idea of health care will eliminate employer provided health care, with pre-existing conditions limitations. He also wants to privatize Social Security just like…ummm…who was that – oh yeah BUSH!

It was a package deal whereby Mrs. Rezko bought the yard and the Obamas bought the house – a 100-year-old mansion.
Mrs. Rezko apparently paid over market value.
Obamas paid a sum $300,000.00, less than asking price.
Why would the Obamas, two (2) Harvard educated lawyers, need the help of a fund raiser & campaign contributor to purchase a home?
What lawyers with good judgment would want to own a mansion without its yard?
Much less have the yard owned by a campaign contributor and fund raiser who is now a convicted felon?

Who needs Rezko? Try reporting on the connections between Valerie Jarrett, Obama’s friend, senior campaign advisor, and CEO of Habitat Co. Jarrett’s company (she was also Michelle’s old boss in Mayor Daley’s office). Habitat was hired by Cecil Butler’s now “bankrupt” Lawndale Restoration (a collection of more than 1,200 subsidized apartments, which included the Grove Parc complex) to manage the complexes in 2000. In 2006 the Federal Government foreclosed on Lawndale and shut down the units after inspections revealed more than 1,800 code violations. That Jarrett managed!
Butler has apparently bought into Habitat which is also known as LFW Inc. Allison Davis, Obama’s old boss, is not only a lawyer, but also is a developer who was involved in the buiding of Grove Parc and other subsidized units that are closed or in disrepair.
Cullen Davis manages the subsidized New Evergreen/Sedgwick apartments in which a child was killed by a falling gate because of disrepair of “managed” buildings in July 2008. Cullen is Allison Davis’s son.
Obama (as a lawyer) represented the nonprofit company that owned Grove Parc at the time, Woodlawn Preservation and Investment Corp. Which brings us to the relationship between Jarrett, Davis, Butler (Jarrett with Chicago Housing Authority & the University of Chicago board) & Woodlawn’s “non-profit” minister founders: Arthur Brazier and Leon Finney.
The Millions of $$$ paid to developers in subsidies for maintaining, managing, rebuilding or restoring units, multiple times.
Obama had to have had his head in the sand not to have known about this wheeling & dealing.

Exposing hypocrisy with humor is invariably effective. People get it.
McCain’s Team is a political cartoonist’s dream. The McCain ad featuring the Chicago Machine and Tony Rezko pales before prospective Obama ads featuring Jeb Bush (Tenet Healthcare Board Member), Newt Gingrich (Center for Health Transformation — a cover group for promoting Big Pharma and other healthcare special interests), Rudy Giuliani (Giuliani partners wrote an absurd report on the ills of allowing RX drug importation from Canada on behalf of his drug industry clients and represented Perdue Pharmaceuticals in the Oxycontin debacle), and Phil Gramm (the Senate architect of deregulation of the financial services industry, which led to the most recent disaster on Wall Street).
This isn’t the pot calling the kettle black. This is the difference between painting Obama with guilt by association and McCain’s cronies, whose greed leads them to promoting clients and defending products, which imperil millions of Americans.

All I have to say God help us if Obama is elected into office. You want “Change” your going to get it, just not the change you thought. Obama has told so many lies, I don’t understand how people don’t do their research.
RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH. It’s his lies, it’s his social and politcal upbringing that everyone is wondering about.
