McCain Slams Obama on Iraq

ABC News’ Eloise Harper reports:  Sen. John McCain attacked Sen. Barack Obama’s position on Iraq today during a veteran’s speech in Las Vegas. McCain ratcheted up his language against his presumptive presidential rival, accusing him of trying  to “legislate failure” when it came to the war, saying that at first Obama had tried to “predict failure in Iraq.”

Speaking to the Disabled Veterans Association, McCain outlined Sen. Obama’s Iraq policy history stating that Sen. Obama has held “varying positions on the surge in Iraq.” McCain continued, “First, he opposed the surge. Then he confidently predicted that it would fail. Then he tried to prevent funding for the troops who carried out the surge.”

Slamming the presumptive Democratic nominee, McCain stated “not content to merely predict failure in Iraq, my opponent tried to legislate failure. This was back when supporting America’s efforts in Iraq entailed serious political risk.”

McCain’s speech was met with applause from thousands, many wearing veteran hats and pins. The Arizona senator does not have any more public events in Las Vegas today, and Sunday he will fly to Pennsylvania.

I think I can sum this story up:
John McCain today went before a handpicked crowd of veterans and filled them full of lies and distortions. His deceit drew applause from the veterans.

McCain knows how to win wars, according to a recent statement he made. I suggest we suit him up and send him into action. Single-handledly, he’ll win the war and then we can spare all of our young warriors from the senseless sacrifice caused by the tom-foolery of the likes of Bush, Cheyney, and McCain. Oh happy day!

John McCain
Should take the train
To his land of unreality
Where he wont have to use his brain

Or discussing his abysmal voting record on veterans issues!

McCain at some point will begin to stumble over the lies he espouses. His gaffs are already peaking the gaff-o-meter. The onetime respected Senator appears to be rapidly loosing his appeal among the thinking class of voters. The tired, worn class of non-thinkers will continue to buy his lies. Actually, I am unsure they buy his misinformation, only his mythology. McCain, the 40% candidate!

This is where McCain should focus. Even though I think his foreign policy stances are dead wrong, at least he can stand for something like pacifying the Middle East through force….good luck.

McCain didn’t even show up to vote on the new GI bill.

It’s the economy, stupid”. Remember McShame say he didn’t know much about the economy. Main reason why he keep talking about a war we had no business fighting.

Russia is invading Georgia while Bush and McCain are busy burying America’s economic and military might in Iraq. Putin is laughing his arse of.

Would we be content with foreign troops occupying America? We are occupying a country of people whose lives have been in many cases trampled and destroyed by our presence. The vast majority don’t want us there. McCain can’t seem to realize there’s no such thing as “winning” in such a situation, and that our strategy of trying to bully other countries for short-term gain is a bankrupt one which only endangers us more in the long run.
Getting out of Iraq will require having discussions which Iraq’s neighbors, to make plans and set up safeguards which leave Iraq relatively safe for both its people and its neighbors– even countries such as Iran and Syria. All of them want to see a stable Iraq. “Bomb, bomb Iran” McCain is no statesman, and no choice for the consensus-building that’s needed in the middle east.

Now Mc16MonthsSoundsGoodNow wants a “surge” on the economy?!?! What does he suggest??? We bomb Wall Street, we send 30,000 extra troops into the banking industry, Col. McFarland and General Petreus institute a covert coup of the housing and energy sector? This guy tries to implement a military solution to everything. After all, he says the greatest equal opportunity employer is the US Military. Unfortunately Johnny Mac, private business is run by civilians!!!

McCain is such a slime. He’s claiming Obama switched positions on Iraq? Let’s look at McCain’s positions:
First he said we should be there 100 years. Then he said we’d be out in four. Then he acknowledged that Obama’s timetable is a pretty good one (he really did once, when wandering far off script).
Then he told Russia they had to leave Georgia because they violated the sovereignty of that country.
But, senator, didn’t we…? How come they have to leave immediately and we get to stay a hundred, er, four, er, who knows how many years?
