Obama is the greatest speaker of our time but he needs his notes.
That is the conservative meme after years of a semi-literate Bush & McCain who does little speaking except for simple rw soundbites?
ROFL!

McCain sentence with a teleprompter. “I’ll have my campaign get back to you”.
Teleprompter-Tiger.
His mom spent 3 hours on his english skills. That is all he has. He needs speach writer and teleprompter.
America’s biggest blunder will be electing Obama
Posted by: tom | August 28, 2008, 12:53 pm 12:53 pm
Bravo geevil, you are turning Biden’s words for the loser Guilliani who’s presidential campaign was limited to Florida into an attack sound bite for your other loser candidate McSame. Obama is a leader with a vision, a leader with a very high IQ, someone who puts his country first and an achiever. God save America from Guilliani and McSame. God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA/BIDEN08.
He is the Sultan of Stammer without a teleprompter as he searches for the nearest port of Non-committment.
And that’s for things that aren’t above his pay grade, which most are.
Obama is horrible without a teleprompter, that is a well known fact. Pretty much all his gaffes were made talking off the cuff.
The perfect example of this is the Saddleback forum and clear comparison of Obama and McCain…..no teleprompter, Obama looked like a buffoon. That is his real self.
We do not want an orator in the whitehouse, we want a President. What’s even more concerning is a lot of Obama’s speeches are not even written by him exclusively, so we are not even hearing his own thoughts.
So when Obama gets the 3 am call:
“uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh”
and finally:
“sorry, above my pay grade, go ask Biden”.
How can you possibly trust your family and country’s security to this man?
Jake, you may want to check out his Iowa Jefferson-Jackson dinner speech. No teleprompter, and it put him on the path to win the election.
Seriously, the things Republicans are desperately grabbing onto are pathetic.

wow, who cares, why invent the teleprompter if you arent going to use it
noun verb POW
The substance of the GOP arguments against Obama is comical.
He’s a celebrity. He speaks to well with a teleprompter.
I guess it will all play out when they have the debates.
That’s plain nonsense. We’ve seen Obama speak many times in TV footage, walking around the hall with his microphone, clearly with no teleprompter, answering questions fluently, and speaking with clarity. This kind of lie is made up by republicans just like WMD, just like saying they’re pro-life when they’re really pro-way, saying that they’re “fiscally conservative” when they rack up the biggest government spending and deficits in all of American history. Don’t be fooled by yet another lie made up out of thin air.
Washington Post:
OBAMA: Well, let me — let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. It will be a strong friend of Israel’s under a McCain government — administration. It will be a strong friend of Israel’s under an Obama administration. So that policy is not going to change.
08AMA will rock the house tonight!
I can only laugh at the dopey McAnalog whiners who complain because they can’t keep up.
THE TORCH HAS BEEN PASSED TO A NEW GENERATION OF AMERICANS!!!
GO 08AMA!!!
decent american has obviously not seen the two candidates in live settings
Obama is great off the teleprompter too
would like to see too many people do the amount of speaking he does…
Mccain would look even worse (if that is possible) if a camera was on him as much as Obama.
Luckily the news media give him a break.
have you ever seen Mccain answer a second follow up… yeah no …cause he’s never been able to answer one.
(His first follow up usually is the 30 second joke or grimace that has been heard a million canned times)
one thinks …one doesn’t. (unless it is to make a joke)

Not only are the some republicans annoyed by Obama, but many, many democrats.
All this country needs–another GWB; fumbling over his own words.
Obama is not what he seems–this is just one more example of it.

Without a teleprompter:
Barack Obama accidentally introduced his running mate Joe Biden as the next president of the United States Saturday, a slip-of-the-tongue the McCain campaign is calling “Freudian.”
Obama’s performance at Saddleback was sad. He took a dive when confronted with a quasi-tough question, let alone all the uh’s and bu bu bu bu but’s.
Presidents can’t vote “present” and duck the tough questions.
Someone go ahead and tell me why I should vote for Obama. Show us all the evidence that he can accomplish the things he says he wants to do when he has accomplished nothing thus far.
I read that included in the republican party platform is provision for continuing the abusive extension of executive power employed by the Bush administration which allowed them to lie to us, hide the truth, cover up and escape penalty for their misdeeds. If McCain were truly a maverick he would not allow this. Once again he has shown he is just an extension of the Bush, Cheney and Rove team.
And the comments about Stanley Kurtz are right on. The Obamessiah does not tolerate dissent well.
If a Republican was making such an effort to shut down the press the world would be set on fire.
Obama spent part of his vacation being weened away from the teleprompter, according to his campaign people. They know it’s a problem too.
That’s why I’m surprised ABC even needs to ask. It’s an ADMITTED problem by the Obama people. LOL
The most revealing part was bringing in Rush Limbaugh to reinforce that Obama needs a teleprompter. Few people would want Limbaugh as a spox on a topic – he’s widely known as being zilch on credibility and ethics. I don’t think it speaks well that he has been presented as if he’s a credible news source.
Posted by: kat | August 28, 2008, 1:20 pm 1:20 pm
Depends on what he is talking about and what kind of audience he projects in mind before himself. Good at converting but lightweight at convincing.
kat – Rush Limbaugh isn’t running for the presidency. He’s a partisan opinion radio talk show host – not a “new” source.
But anyone who watches Obama regularly is well aware of the problem Obama has without a teleprompter. It’s been painful at times to listen to him.
Even Obama’s own people admit there’s a problem — that’s why Obama spent part of his vacation practicing without the teleprompter. He’ll get better over time.
What is the issue? lol
What would News Anchors do without THEIR teleprompter?
Is Obama preventing others from using teleprompter?
Who in politics FOOLISH ENOUGH to give big speeches without notes?
Why the hell did humans INVENTED TECHNOLOGIES? TO IMPROVE THEIR LIVES!
I seem to recall that one of the greatest beneficiaries of a Teleprompter was one Ronald Reagan who also was good at using his Hollywood lines and was a celebrity before getting into politics.

I’M JUST CURIOUS……….
Posted by: NICHOLAS | August 28, 2008, 1:35 pm 1:35 pm
Here’s the point:
With teleprompter, Obama speaks as well as Ronald Reagan.
Without a teleprompter, he tells people that a kid with asthma should get a breathalizer.
Just a tad different. And Thank God there are no teleprompters at debates!!!
I say this as a Republican. If Bush can win debates, I wouldn’t worry about their speaking style.
No matter how well or fumbled a question about Ayers is answered it will be the actual answer which matters.
Considering that Obama’s wave of support comes from people who love his speaking style and are utterly ignorant of who he really is, this is more than just a little blip in his campaign. It’s catastrophic. Heck, anyone can hire a good speechwriter and learn how to deliver it smoothly, but what happens when he’s in private negotiations with the president of Russia and can’t get his facts right without a teleprompter? We need to cut to the chase, forget about Limbaugh and look at who Barak Hussein Obama really is: a sweet talking speech reader who has some serious credibility and patriotic issues when put under the microscope.
“Heck, anyone can hire a good speechwriter and learn how to deliver it smoothly”
I agree anyone can do it.
Now explain to me why neither John McCain or George Bush have done it.

Well Nicholas, Gallup’s Daily Tracking poll just reported Obama is now up 48 to 42.
And that is tracking polls taking into account day 1 and day 2 of the convention. Day 3 has yet to make an impact to say nothing of his acceptance speech.
John McCain is GOING DOWN!

I know conservative pundits treat their audiences like they’re stupid, but c’mon, this one is ridiculous. Obama was in 22 debates and was excellent. All his town halls were without teleprompters. All his stump speeches were without teleprompters. But hey, if Rush wants to lower expectations for the debates, be my guest.
Posted by: Jim | August 28, 2008, 1:50 pm 1:50 pm
I can’t stand it when Barakulus breaks out his “Preacher Voice”.
When asked real questions in debates (about Rev. Wrong, and Capital Gains taxes), he fumbled big time. He will gack all over the place if McCain actually takes it to him in debates. Obama can’t answer the tough questions, because he knows the answers will scare people.
Oh, and EVERY candidate gets a post-debate bounce in polls. It’ll be back to even after McCain speaks next week. Read history much?
McCain with a teleprompter: “That’s not change we can believe in…hehehehehehe [creepy grin].”
McCain without a teleprompter: Czechoslovakia, veto every beer, Sunni/Shia, Pakistan/Iraq border, who am I, which home am I in? POW, POW.

Someone wrote on here that “why can’t Obama close the deal”, well in the sad reality of it all, he is still a black man. I’m not playing the race card because I’m a white 24 yr old man, but from what I have heard and observed, his skin color is an issue for a lot of people whether they admit it or not. People say they are color blind until they are faced with a black man being president. I think that’s why he appeals to so many people my age because, thank God, we have moved passed race more in our generation, and he does well with more wealthy dems because they don’t have animosity towards and black man who is smart and has done well for himself. They don’t feel like he has taken something away that is deserving to them. I notice that people call him arrogant but if he was a white man he would just be confident and he would be admired for it. I’m proud of my generation for coming so far with the race issue and I’m proud of other affluent white people who don’t see him as a threat.I think my generation is the key to making change for america because we don’t hold on to old ideas and old traditions.

“People say they are color blind until they are faced with a black man being president.”

Obama is lost without a prompter and he will be lost as president.
He knows it–we know it. That’s why Obama had to chose someone that had been in Washington 35 years as VP.
And now Biden, Clinton, Kerry all lie to America and say Obama is ready.
Obama won’t be leading the country–it will be his 300 advisors and Joe Biden.
McCain does not need Adult Supervision or on-the-job training. But he does have his own teleprompter issues.

You guys are missing the point, and it is hilarious. Of course, all major candidates have speechwriters, and of course, all speakers do better with teleprompters. But, you see, Obama’s speeches are ALL THAT THERE IS OF HIM….that is what got him this far, there is no major accmplishments to speak of, no major highlights of his very thin resume.
57 states? inflate your tires? Iraqi interpreters speaking the same language as Afghans? “President Biden”?????
Teleprompter…he is good.

Jack: actually, it DOES matter what skin color you have when running for President. Without a doubt, with his very thin resume and complete lack of major accomplishments, Obama would not have had his meteroric rise without his skin color and his speeches. This is affirmative action in it’s worst form, and racism at its most evil.
The great MLK would be shocked that we are electing this man on color of skin, NOT content of character.
Disgraceful.
The fact that you McCainophytes repeat lies about Obama does not make it true.
Obama is smarter than McCain and this is a fact. While Obama was topping his class in Havard McCain finished among the bottom six in his military class of 900 students.
Obama will smoke McCain in any face to face debate any time, anywhere and on any topic.
McCain can not think on his feet. Do you remember the viagra question, sunni and shias, number of houses, snobbing the reporter from NY times? That is typical McCain who has to be coached before he takes questions. If not he wont answer any.

He admitted before he decided to run that he didn’t have enough experience, his fellow Democrats have attacked him for not being ready. Bottomline is that he has been the one that had brought race into the mix. Everyone else is afraid to touch it with a 10 foot poll.
If he was white with his resume, he would not be where he is. And before you call me a racist, he admitted as much.
riley-
Apparently McCain’s campaign believes he needs adult supervision, since they’ve declared that he doesn’t “speak for the campaign”. How exactly can you NOT speak for your own campaign??
“Obama will smoke McCain in any face to face debate any time, anywhere and on any topic.”
Just like Obama did in the primary debates? Why do you think Obama won’t do townhalls with McCain? It’s because his handlers know what a complete waste of space he is if they can’t feed him his words via a teleprompter.
Krista-
Agree 100%! Good points!
And, while many posts speak a lot to candidates having speech-writers, they should keep in mind that Obama writes the vast majority of his own speeches. Given his limited IQ, I doubt that McBush could come close to doing the same.
decentAmerican: What about Colin Powell? He has credentials and a thick resume, but he isn’t threatening as a black man. White America don’t see him as black. He’s none descript in terms of race. If you look at him, he looks like he is the one with the white mother, and I think that appeals to people more. When they see Obama they see a black man not a biracial man and they see all of his flaws and they find all of his short comings. They study his credentials more than they would a white man with the same exact situation Obama is in. If he didn’t take as much black and more white, he wouldn’t get so much resistance. Colin Powell is a great man, but he is none descript as a black man.

One last thing before I go. There was something said to the effect that attacking Obama’s reliance on a teleprompter is similar to the ju jitsu approach of attacking the opponent’s weakness. Actually, attacking Obama’s speechifying is attacking a strength. He’s repeatedly shown his ability to speak without a teleprompter. His speech tonight promises to be pivotal, so to put it politely, the timing of a critique on his speeches is perhaps more than ironic. Ju-jitsu is really such a misnomer to apply when attacking a proven strength.

“Obama is smarter than McCain and this is a fact. While Obama was topping his class in Havard McCain finished among the bottom six in his military class of 900 students.”
Haven’t we had enough of Harvard elites in power? Are they really better and smarter or do they have better connections? At least with McCain it would send out a message that having attended an elite Ivy school is not a prerequisite to becoming President.
Teleprompter or not Obama is still smarter than McCain.
Now tell me who failed their military class? McCain
Who attended Columbia and Harvard? Obama
Who has better judgment? Obama
Who got affirmative action to be an air pilot because of his father? McCain
Who was chair of Harvard Law review? Obama
Who wasn`t smart enough and grounded 2 fighter jets and the USS forrestal? McCain
Who took more than 20 years in the Senate to run for president? McCain
Who took just 3 years in the Senate to run for president? Obama
Conclusion: Obama is smarter, more intelligent and has better judgment. this is a fact.

Mack: I didn’t call you a racist, but I see white men every day with no experience and not enough qualifications get positions that they don’t deserve. This is my last semester in school and I know that my friends have gotten positions they aren’t qualified for because they have connections and I know that I will be able to do the same thing. I know my chances and my friends chances of getting to the top is pretty good, and we don’t have to start a entry level.

Attending a racist church for 20 years, having a domestic terrorist help kick off your political career, and running for President with so little experience shows a lack of judgment and should be an insult to all Americans.
I wonder how Obama’s teenage voters will like it when he forces them to perform 50 hours of community service?

I wouldn’t be surprised if Obama required adults to volunteer. And he will choose which organizations.

I know we have to be safe, but we also want to be apart of something other than fighting. My fraternity and my friends do a lot of community service and we aren’t forced to do it. For all you who claim that Obama has “good judgement” …. let’s see, the first ammendment:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
I judge this as meaning we all have freedom of speech. Apparently Obama sees that as “try to remove anyone who disagrees with me (see WGN).”

Who cares what they want. It would be a good way for children from inner cities to find out what potential they have.
Many have not been given the opportunity to learn what potential they do have. It would also give the privileged teenagers a sense of what the common man has to deal with.
In either scenario it would be a good thing for this country.

Teenagers are not “forced” to perform community service as a part of graduating high school in many places.
Then we have programs like AmeriCorp which in exchange for young people teaching in urban areas and other community services they get money for college.

Ryan C, you have no clue. We Republicans are among the most charitable. We make our money, then we give back. I know I certainly do, and so do most of the people I know (R or D for that matter). And I volunteer.
But when you MAKE someone do it, it’s different! That was the original point, I’m sure. Kids today don’t want to get out of bed, let alone volunteer.
And BTW …. selfishness can be very good. It can get you to the point where you have more money to give to charity! Duh! You think only Democrats do charity? LOLOLOLOL!!!

krista – Did you READ our answers???
Obama, despite offering to debate McCain “anywhere, anytime” has refused to debate other than the 3 mandatory debates. Despite McCain’s offer to do townhalls with him, he has refused.
Obama is running so fast from those “anywhere, anytime” debates that he has smoke coming out of the back of his shoes!
Although, after seeing him Live at the Forum, I can’t blame him. LMAO!!!
PUMA!
@J Yeah, and you could call the program Obama Youth!
FYI, It’s a parent’s job to instill morals and values in their children. It’s not the governments job to forcibly conscript and indoctrinate them with a government approved set of morals and values.
I’m all for charity. I’m sure most of us are – in America for that matter. And it should be encouraged at every turn. Especially for those priveleged. But it cannot be forced if it is to be genuine (or even constitutional for that matter!!!).
One way to encourage young people to volunteer …. show them the way, lead by example!
@Pos3r -
We might as well forget the debate issue with the Obama Supporters. They are too far gone in the kool-aid to make sense out of anything we say. :D

McCain is all talk and has no substance. he like to talk tough but can not deliver. He couldnt even drop a bomb in vietnam and escape the enemy territory.
When the Georgia Crisis came up McCain rushed into issuing a statement even before the prseident. How arrogant and presumptuous. It turn out his aid was even a lobbyist for Georgia.

D’Obama,
If you’re “outraged” by the actions of the McCain, why not express it?
And perhaps you can tell me where in the 1st Amendment Stanley Kurtz is granted platform to speak to millions but the public is not allowed to call in and exercise their free speech rights.

Ryan Ryan Ryan …. the public is allowed. What I’m talking about is the Obama campaign’s concerted effort to “stop” Mr. Kurtz. They do this RATHER than go on the air to debate the issue. They were clearly offered the opportunity and did not! That’s the point!! Plus, he’s trying to use the courts to get the similar ads off the air. Why not – instead – tell us WHY these charges are false, not just that they are. That’s like telling your kid, “Because I told you so!” But news to the Obama campaign …. we’re not your kids!!!
I don’t fear disagreement by any means. Otherwise …. why would I bother posting here? Disagreement is part of our history, and one of it’s core core core values!!

Again, so Obama is the only person in this country to volunteer? LOLOL
Millions of us do, Republicans too! And I am a big help …. when I volunteer!
D’Obama,
So what is the problem with a campaign asking its supporters to speak against someone who is smearing their candidate?
Granted Obama’s response to criticism is more people involved then McCain claiming his POW status makes him immune from criticism.

What universe do you come from?
Obama has refused repeatedly to debate in any Town Hall settings.
McCain would maul him, as he did at Saddleback.
Tough decisions are above Obama’s pay grade.
DrJohn,
Of course McCain is afraid to debate.
He’s afraid to even answer national reporters’ questions in the wake of Housegate and hasn’t done so since.
Obama went thru 20 debates that were more slugfest than tea party. He’s ready.
McCain got his ass handed to him by Romney in the last debates they had.
Then he refused to debate Huckabee.

“Loudly shout down”? Or threaten to shut down TV stations? Sounds more like Hugo Chavez than MLK. Nice slanting of the story there, pal.
McCain didn’t air anything, it was a 527. Yes, the left has 527 organizations, too. Yawn. “Misleading and negative”? Misleading, we shall see. Negative, certainly. As a great Democrat once said, if you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.
So Ryan, what is Barack so afraid of with these adds? He can easily sue for slander if he chooses. Of course, in a slander case the ultimate defense is the truth. Let’s see if he files a suit!

“McCain didn’t air anything,”
McCain has aired half a dozen ads in the last month. Every one of them has shown to be misleading even outright dishonest.
“it was a 527. Yes, the left has 527 organizations, too. Yawn.”
Actually that group claims to be a non profit and is fighting their classification as a political org. Why? Because then they have to disclose their donors.

OBAMA: “Well, let me — let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s..”
Even his introduction of Biden last week as “our next president…”… and of Clinton last night as “president Bush”….

McCain on Leno? He was doing well(crowd was loving the back and forth about age) till he pulled out the POW card when questioned about houses.

I heard comparisons of Obama’s acceptance speech last night to Kennedy. One big difference between the two is that Obama writes the majority of his major speeches. Kennedy had Theodore Sorensen, Arthur M. Schlesinger, John Kenneth Galbraith and Richard Goodwin among others writing his speeches.
There’s more than the teleprompter going on here. We’re hearing directly from the man himself largely in his own words. It’s more direct, genuine and from his own heart.
As well, it isn’t just the technology of his delivery that’s moving and impressing. It’s what those words he has chosen are saying to the American people.
Some say that an essential quality of political leadership is the ability of that leader to inspire their people to do good things. I’d say Obama does that as well as any leader we’ve seen since the Kennedys.

The most revealing part was bringing in Rush Limbaugh to reinforce that Obama needs a teleprompter. Few people would want Limbaugh as a spox on a topic – he’s widely known as being zilch on credibility and ethics. I don’t think it speaks well that he has been presented as if he’s a credible news source.

kat – Rush Limbaugh isn’t running for the presidency.

But, you see, Obama’s speeches are ALL THAT THERE IS OF HIM….that is what got him this far, there is no major accmplishments to speak of, no major highlights of his very thin resume.

This is affirmative action in it’s worst form, and racism at its most evil.

If not he wont answer any.

decentAmerican: What about Colin Powell?

Obama

Teenagers are not “forced” to perform community service as a part of graduating high school in many places.
Then we have programs like AmeriCorp which in exchange for young people teaching in urban areas and other community services they get money for college.

D’Obama,
If you’re “outraged” by the actions of the McCain, why not express it?
And perhaps you can tell me where in the 1st Amendment Stanley Kurtz is granted platform to speak to millions but the public is not allowed to call in and exercise their free speech rights.
Do you freak out when a boycott is called for against something you disagree with?

Obama without his teleprompter is like a bicycle without wheels. It is a piece of junk.

Joe Biden is one of the guys that make McCain look like an amateur when it comes to foreign policy and national security.
Now that McCain has been neutralized in that regard, what is he going to run on?
Surge?

“One way to encourage young people to volunteer …. show them the way, lead by example!”
Like Obama did when he went to Chicago to register people to vote.
Man you have been a big help today D’Obama.
But I must tell you selfishness is never good. The quality you refer to as being helpful in getting ahead in ambition.

McCain afraid to debate?
What universe do you come from?
Obama has refused repeatedly to debate in any Town Hall settings.
McCain would maul him, as he did at Saddleback.
Tough decisions are above Obama’s pay grade.
Posted by: drjohn | August 28, 2008, 3:27 pm 3:27 pm
DrJohn,
Of course McCain is afraid to debate.

Krista:
“yes you lost the debate because you couldnt give a good excuse at to why McCain refused to debate Obama not once but twice.”
_____________————
You have that a tad backwards.
Obama was the one who chickened out on the debates…. not only with McCain but also with Hillary!
Possibly, that was because, as Geevill so cogently pointed out,
An “Obama sentence without a teleprompter is a noun, a verb and an “uh”.

Hey McCain lovers,
There are still PLENTY of tickets available for his rally tomorrow.
His staffers are hard at work creating very realistic looking homemade signs as we speak.

This is hilarious!
According to the right wing, Obama calling on his supporters to loudly shout down smears against him is a disgusting tactic.
McCain constantly airing misleading and negative ads even though McCain himself has repeatedly denounced such ads?
Well that’s just politics.
Ah the rw mind, where rationalization is just a blink away!

There’s a problem with that though, they didn’t tell us which house to go to to pick them up. Oh that’s right he doesn’t know how many he has!

That was hysterical…good piece…ending wiht the man who can’t speak Period. Who! Just the current POTUS.
Whether these guys use a prompt or notes they are both better than GWB.
Everyone has a different comfort level…both will be heard and then we can all decide in November.
Although Mac’s pre announce of his VP during BO’s speech tonite should change things up abit.
It ain’t over till it’s over and how I wish it were over.

But Ryan, he ended up bloodied and speechless after all of them!…. although I disremember 20……
I think he was asked to participate in about twenty….. but declined after he realized what a poor showing he was making……..

When? I watched that convention twice on CNN and the only reference was he started to call him President Bill Clinton and changed it to President Clinton.

America-centric
The number of debates that Obama (and Hillary for that matter) participated in was actually more than 25 during the Democratic primaries.
He won some. He lost some. He did quite well in most of them.
McCain hasn’t spoken to reporters after embarrassing himself when asked how many houses he owns.
Posted by: Ryan C | August 28, 2008, 4:28 pm 4:28 pm
Ryan,
BHO hasn’t held a press conference since before he went on vacation. He’s still looking for one with a teleprompter.

Ryan C says,
“According to the right wing, Obama calling on his supporters to loudly shout down smears against him is a disgusting tactic.

Obviously you Democrats want 4 more years of the same old stuff. You must have the money burn, unlike most of us.

Ummm having supporters call into complain is the same as the government removing a station’s right to broadcast?
“McCain didn’t air anything,”
McCain has aired half a dozen ads in the last month. Every one of them has shown to be misleading even outright dishonest.
“it was a 527. Yes, the left has 527 organizations, too. Yawn.”
Actually that group claims to be a non profit and is fighting their classification as a political org. Why? Because then they have to disclose their donors.
The GOP thanks you for your ignorance and hopes to count on your vote in Nov.
“As a great Democrat once said, if you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.”

RYAN,
He won none.
As for McCain, He was on the Jay Leno show the other night and acquitted himself magnificently!
As for Obama, for a young man he has an awful lot of trouble sticking to the message:
OBAMA: “Well, let me — let me be absolutely clear. Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s..”
Even his introduction of Biden last week as “our next president…”… and of Clinton last night as “president Bush”….
I think his head is so far up in the clouds his brain isn’t getting sufficent oxygen .

Americentric,
You do know that Luntz’s focus group declared Obama the winner quite a few times right? And that most punditry did so as well. Hillary certainly won her share but Obama held his own quite well.
McCain on Leno? He was doing well(crowd was loving the back and forth about age) till he pulled out the POW card when questioned about houses.
Audience sat in silence until he stated a campaign line at the end and then the applause was more respectful than the cheering earlier.

Saddleback was a joke. Saddle back was a Republican home base and Obama took the challenge and face them head on. McCain would never attend Democrat home base against Obama.

The only way you can waste your vote this year is by voting. Pray and listen to Rush, before, during and after the show.
Posted by: Dave Kessler | August 29, 2008, 2:20 am 2:20 am
