Paris Hilton Responds to McCain Celeb Commercial

ABC News’ Tahman Bradley Reports: Paris Hilton has issued a response (kinda) to presidential hopeful John McCain’s television commerial which lumps her together with Barack Obama and Britney Spears in the sometimes reviled celebrity category.

Sitting on a lawn chair in a bathing suit, Ms. Hilton says to camera, "Hey America, I’m Paris Hilton and I’m a celebrity too. Only I’m not from the olden days and I’m not promising change like that other guy. I’m just hot."

She continues, "But then that wrinkly white-haired guy used me in his campaign ad, which I guess means that I’m running for president."

And so, since Hilton has interpreted the comparison to Sen. Obama, D-Ill., as meaning that she too is qualified to be leader of the free world, Hilton, jokingly, lays out her campaign platform.

The video has some more tough words for the "wrinkly white-haired" Arizona Senator: "He’s the oldest celebrity it the world, like super old. Old enough to remember when dancing was a sin and beer was served in a bucket.," a narrator says, with a picture of Larry King and then Yoda to drive home the age point.

McCain campaign spokesperson Tucker Bounds used word of the video to take a stinging swipe at Obama. "Sounds like Paris is taking the ‘All of the Above’ energy approach that John McCain has advocated — both alternatives and drilling. Perhaps the reality is that Paris has a more substantive energy plan than Barack Obama," Bounds said in a statement.

The video is posted on the user-driven video site backed by Will Ferrel and Adam McKay, FunnyOrDie.com. Watch it HERE

Senator Obama should consider it a good thing to be in same video as Paris Hilton. Paris could teach him how to make millions using his brain and talent instead of begging from contributors. Both Paris and Britney were millionaires by age 30–Obama certainly was not.

The Paris Hilton ad campaign is actually in genius. To this day, I do not know why Paris Hilton is so popular…she is famous for being famous, and I ask what has she accomplished to make her so popular the world over?
And that is a very legitamate question for voters to ask of Obama.
Plus, everybody is talking about it, you can’t buy publicity that good. And of course, there is the subliminal message, that every time you see Obama now, you think of Paris Hilton, and what could you possibly be thinking to elect this man president?
Paris, lovely girl, but has no business being President. Ditto Obama.
Genius! kudos GOP!

Rasmussen has McCain up by 1.

Posted by: Mack | August 5, 2008, 7:29 pm 7:29 pm

Obama is falling in the polls, even with the democrat poll figured in (no bias there) he and McCain are only about 2 points apart…a virtual tie. Now consider in that the polls usually reflect a bias for demmies and this means that McCain is actually slightly ahead. Obama is sinking fast.

I think America is in trouble. Now we have another showman Obama on the verge of taking leadership from another showman Bush. China and India will eventually overtake us and then bully us all around.

For all the poll trackers Obama is up by 4 in today’s Gallup Tracking and six on the AP IPSOS. McCain is one up (47 to 46) on the Rasmussen which is the same as yesterday. It’s close but may be different in electoral vote outcome just as was the 1960 election.

Moreover, McCain is just 25 years older than Obama. Obama is now 42, and next month McCain is 72. Finally, whose got the experience – i.e., where’s the beef?

If people would compare somebody’s real stupidnes to “OTHER” people real stupidnes, you would be that “OTHER”, so far you are the only “OTHER”. That is why McCain could not find anybody better, because he is stupid also. Posted by: Chris Andersen | August 5, 2008, 8:09 pm 8:09 pm

I’m surprised that no one has noticed the obvious — perhaps because they didn’t watch Hilton’s video in its entirety. At the end, she expounds on her ‘energy policy’ — which she describes as a hybrid between that of Obama and McCain — to allow offshore drilling with strict environmental standards and to invest extensively in alternative technologies and hybrid automobiles.
The amusing point, of course, is that (i) this is an entirely reasonable energy policy and (ii) that this is EXACTLY the energy policy that Barack Obama proposed yesterday (day before?) in his major speech on energy.
Nice job, Paris.

It’s one of those ridiculous sort of questions most people wouldn’t even bother taking the time to acknowledge with an answer. “Would you vote for McCain?” That deserves an answer about as much as, “would you vote for an avacado?” The answer is so blatantly obvious, why would anyone bother taking part in the poll??

Two candidates, two birth certificates —McCain was transparent. Obama has been secretive.
Let’s review the facts reported by the Post:
John McCain’s campaign volunteered to show a hard copy of his birth certificate to a reporter that document named the hospital where McCain was born. John S. McCain Senior was stationed at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Coco Solo, which was under the command of his grandfather, John S. McCain Sr. 5. There is also a newspaper clipping confirming his birth. Roberta McCain, the Senator’s 96-year-old-mother, provided further verification when she told a story about giving birth to her son.
Now let’s look at the facts of Barack Obama’s situation (as I understand them):
Thousands if not millions of citizens have asked to see Sen. Obama’s birth certificate. Sen. Obama dodged the request for months. Finally, Sen. Obama published an image on his website that is meant to be his Certification of Live Birth (COLB) from the State of Hawaii. The reference number is blacked out, and to the naked eye, ALL of the markings required to make it a certified document are absent. The COLB form proffered on the Internet by Sen. Obama is used by the State of Hawaii as an abstract of one’s original birth certificate. The abstract includes only bare-bones information: names of the child and parents, city, county, dates, etc. The COLB form does NOT include detailed information from the original birth certificate, such as the name of the hospital, doctor’s signature, parents’ occupations, parents’ signatures, etc. Prior to 2001, the State of Hawaii’s COLB formed included most if not all of the information from the original birth certificate. Sen. Obama, by showing a recently dated COLB, would apparently have us believe that he does not possess an older version with more detailed information. There are conflicting reports about the hospital in which Sen. Obama was born. Sen. Obama has yet to show a hard copy of his birth certificate (not even the short COLB form) to a reporter. No newspaper clippings have been produced verifying Sen. Obama’s birth. Although the Senator’s mother is no longer living, his maternal grandmother (in her 80s) is alive and lucid by all accounts; yet she has been made “unavailable” by the Senator’s campaign. Questions remain unanswered about the authenticity of Sen. Obama’s birth certificate and thus the facts related to his birth.
So, what do you say, Senator Obama? Are you willing to be as responsive as your Republican opponent in showing reporters a hard copy of your birth certificate that identifies the hospital in which you were born? Or will one of those curious citizens have to file a lawsuit to see it?

At first, I was offended by seemingly pornographic entries in this forum, but then I realized we’re talking about Paris Hilton. After all, she got her start in show biz by being a porn queen. She’s come a long way when a Presidential candidate gets into an exchange of insults with her!

Posted by: Rhys | August 5, 2008, 9:16 pm 9:16 pm

The ad shows Paris Hilton can read prepared text just like Obama. The counter ad solidifies the Obama-Hilton comparison. nice job Paris.

Posted by: geevill | August 5, 2008, 9:17 pm 9:17 pm

McCain is running an awful campaign, but when Paris Hilton insults him, that should boost his poll standing by a couple of points!

Paris actually BLASTED Obama more than she did McCain…
I’m not promising change like that other guy. I’m just hot.”
She “skewered” Obama’s campaign theme…and now, when you think of Obama, you will think of Paris….so, McCain’s ad worked GREAT!

Ask..I didn’t even mention Obama with regard to having a job. But he must have had one at some point. You see he never married into money like the Pander Bear.
So what real average American job has McCain had, then that makes him just a “regular guy” like most of us?

Regardless of what one thinks of McCain, Obama, or Paris – the fact is this.
McCain started this little battle, and surprise surprise, La Paris struck back.
That’s how I look at this ad. Nothing more, nothing less.
What McCain has to realise is that if he is planning to attack Brand Obama, he’s going to have to get people on his staff that know what they are doing. You can’t bash the daughter of two of your campaign contributors (Hiltons). You can’t complain about how Obama is stiffing the troops, when you use footage of him playing basketball, with troops in the background.
These are just pathetic mistakes, he should just stick to the issues. Otherwise he’ll get more Creepy White Haired Old Guy insults.

Perhaps the reality is that Paris has a more substantive energy plan than Barack Obama,” Bounds said in a statement.”
Well, well, well….. if Paris hadn’t ripped off ‘the energy plan’from Barack’s new energy plan that he talked about on Monday … This would have worked. Too bad McCain’s-campaign spokesperson :(
I can’t believe I am going to say this… Paris made my day!!!!!

John McCain is an irrelevant member of society. Certainly everyone who believes that he’s of the human race should have they’re head examined. Kudos to Paris. Perhaps she ought to be his running mate that way all the young wastrels our pop-culturally, right-wing driven society manipulates would have something to pay attention to that actually mattered, made coherent sense, and stood for the constitution and not against it!

McSame is a loser, who offers his wife up for topless/bottomless beauty contests and looks like grampa hillbilly on stage. He is making a fool of himself daily.
Thankfully, no matter how much geevil, jo, dave from texas and other repugnant whiners try to think otherwise, the American Public “Won’t get fooled again,” and McSame will be back in the Senate after the November elections. He is not fit to be POTUS.

Foxisms- “Ask..I didn’t even mention Obama with regard to having a job.”
OF COURSE YOU DIDN’t BECAUSE HE NEVER HAS.
But – since your mind and memory are as good as Paris and BHO – YOU DID WRITE “So what real average American job has McCain had, then that makes him just a “regular guy” like most of us?”
Logic AND sense a foreign concept… Mccain was IN THE MILITARY and you imply that that is NOT a REAL Job or HARD WORK?
23 YEARS in the NAVY? 5 and half as a prisoner? TORTURE – real not the bs like gitmo or Abu – for years?
2 terms in the US House, and approx 20 in the Senate.
Wow -no comparison is right!!

Jim Caple described the as “essentially a topless beauty pageant. And occasionally bottomless, too.”
“During a drenching rain Wednesday night, the contest broke up into smaller groups and one woman wound up dancing naked on a bar top. Her boyfriend/husband saw her and angrily dragged her away as she struggled to put her pants back on and muttered something about how, “It’s only this one week a year.”
How sweet. Sadly, the pageant also sees its share of domestic abuse, which even the event’s organizers admit to Caple is a major problem. But that is nothing new to John McCain he has called his wife a c_nt and a trollop and had made suggestion that he has beat his wife. What a winner John McSame is. John McCain probably lost like 3 votes in California, a state that he wasn’t gonna win anyways, so who really cares what the Hilton family thinks about the election? They won’t be affected as much as most Americans. They are a Republican family that probably won’t be voting for McCain because of the personal insult, but they won’t be voting for Obama either because they are Republicans. I liked her description of McCain. I think too that he’s health and his age disqualify him to be President.

It’s too bad Paris Hilton is too young to become President. She certainly sounds more articulate than McCain – and infinitely more believeable. That’s the rather sad state of American politics, which are so dependent upon whatever GOP fear-and-smear tactics are being used that any real issues are pretty much lost for the American people.
I wonder how many more presidential elections will we have before more people just ignore them than bother voting for another extension of more-of-the-same?

He crashed an airplane 5 separate times as a pilot.
McCain’s grandfather/father were both admirals thus giving preferential treatment to McCain allowing him to continue to fly until he crashed again in Hanoi.
Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and became the President of the Harvard Law Review, a coveted and highly prestigious position.
Obama grew up middle class and never crashed an airplane. He served his country by organizing in poor communities.

Good thing I don’t rely on TV to get my news, in fact news has little to do with news and more to do with ratings.
And as far as boring, Nader is much more inspiring than the utterly predictable stories — I won’t call it news — that you report.

Why can’t we have a “none of the above” spot to check in the election? Then if “none of the above” gets the most votes we start all over.

Even Paris can see that ole man Simpson’s, I mean McCain’s, attacks are shallower than she is. His ad says Obama’s problem is that he’s popular?!? Well, Mac never again has to worry about that “problem”. He’s also finally trying to get his lips off of Bush’s posterior. Big Oil’s 2nd best friend(after Bush) can’t quite seem to separate his lips from Bush’s glutei tho.

We like Paris Hilton very much; and felt very sorry for her treatment, by the policia and the media. We also like Sen John McCain; and intend to vote for him. There is nothing incompatible in this assessment. We are liberal republicans, in the same vein as Mr Dickens and Mr Carlyle, and Mr Gladstone. Everyone should remember ‘history’; and become ‘true liberals.’ Sen Obama will probably be our next President; and that’s fine & welcome. We wish him well; I hope he;’s the next FDR. But, why can we Americans be sensible and thoughtful? Why can’t we have a better sense of history? We certainly hope that the profound and exceptional message of the DWM of the 19th cent, will not be forgotten. Good Luck, President Obama! We sincerely wish you well; you’ll do fine. Paris shouldn’t be criticized. But: I hope McCain wins. He will be the better President. VTY – J. Ruskin

After this ad, I won’t see her as a dumb blond many have tried to portray her. Yeah yeah, you are saying it was scripted speech. Well, you wouldn’t be able to present it they way she has, even if it was given to you. McCain wouldn’t read it as effectively as she did anyway. Now who is dumb?

Paris Hilton is even more of an idiot than I thought she was. The only thing the ad did was acknowledge that she and Britney are celebrities, and that a presidential candidate should have more going for him than celebrity status. There was no “insult” to these two vacuous girls. They are what they are, for better or worse. The insult was to Barack Obama, who should be more than a pretty boy if he wants to hold the highest office in the world.

You tell me white guy. Nobody’s voting for McCain because he’s white. Many however, are voting against Obama because he’s black. Just as many are voting for Obama for the same reason. Being a black guy that support’s Obama, I do take offense at the notion that ALL blacks are voting for him because he is black. My first choice was Joe Biden. He’s smart, knows foreign policy, and is more than willing to go toe to toe with republicans. Obama was my second choice for mainly one reason. His speech at the 2004 Democratic convention. The first time I was ever inspired, or moved by anything a politician had to say. I still believe in that guy.

Every time, I sit down and listen Senator Obama’s speeches, I am very disappointed at the lack of details in his proposals. His statement that getting a tune up and inflate your tires will save as much gas as off-shore drilling is not correct. Only 15% of all vehicles are driven with low tire pressure and that would not save that much gas. My opinion is that this is just more hot air put out by Obama and his supporters.
Senator McCain has stated for months that all sources of energy should be developed; Obama is against this idea.
Obama has flip-flopped about energy this week and will do so again when the wind changes direction. One can not trust this man to stick with any opinion on issues for any lenght of time. In other words, he can not be trusted.

Even with 200 experts he make gaffes. Paris has redeemed herself with this witty ad. Meanwhile, McCain has offered up his wife Cindy to strip for the Hells Angels at the motorcycle gang rally in Sturgis, South Dakota. Why would McCain do this? In his words it was so that Cindy can become the first “first lady” to also be “Miss Buffalo Chip”. McCain is an embarrasement not only to his wife, but to the whole country.

How low has msm sunk when the fact that Paris Hilton’s video( a sleazy, immature socialite who’s only claim to fame is rich parents and the fact that she attends every party on the planet) is front page news while Congress has adjourned in the midst of an energy crisis for a 5 week vacation (that us middle class people couldn’t possibly afford) and that gets only a one paragraph mention on the political page.

In case you don’t know it, there was a time when McCain was against off shore drilling too. There was also a time when McCain was against the Bush Tax cuts. There was a time when McCain was for a woman’s right to choose. And there was a time McCain was for negotiating with your enemies. There was a time when McCain was against withdrawal timetables for Iraq. Now he’s adopted Barack Obama’s timetable of 16 mnths. Flip-flops? Is he not to be trusted? You tell me. By the way energy experts agree, drilling would do very little to solve America’s gas, and energy problems. They also agree that proper inflation of tires is just one of the things you can do to your car to improve gas milage. But who cares about facts, when you have good ol’ fashioned American propaganda?
Are you listening Martin? I hope I didn’t get too all “intelligent” on your ass.

Hello McBush. What goes around, comes around.

Posted by: junior111 | August 6, 2008, 9:11 am 9:11 am

It appears that Parish Hilton is more intelligent than I thought, especially when it comes to her description of McSame as “that wrinkly white-haired guy . . .” Paris Hilton also provides a good assessment of what we’d be faced with if McSame were in the White House: “He’s the oldest celebrity in the world, like super old. Old enough to remember when dancing was a sin and beer was served in a bucket, . . . ”
Leave it to McSame and Karl Rove to insult two of McSame’s supporters by using their daughter in an unflattering campaign ad. This is about as bad as McSame offering to put Sindy in a topless beauty contest, which I’m sure she would lose once people got a gander at what’s hidden under those clothes she wears.
Yes, McSame is just the guy we need for President, NOT!!!

Posted by: caliguy55 | August 6, 2008, 9:15 am 9:15 am

Funny stuff. Its amazing watching a presidential candidate get so used by this person.
Even funnier when you realize the Hilton family had (emphasis on past tense) been a McCain contributor, and that Britney is (or maybe was?) a registered Republican.
As Obama said about McCain and his team: “It’s like these guys take pride in being ignorant.”

Posted by: Paul | August 6, 2008, 9:16 am 9:16 am

Regarding the “I’m making Paris Hilton look like a recluse” quotation. First, it’s “I’m so overexposed” etc. Second, it’s a self-deprecating, humorous indictment of media coverage, not a substantive comparison. And if you don’t see the difference, I’m very sad that you can vote.

I’m not a fan of Paris Hilton, but I loved this. It was a great shot at both candidates and the intelligent speaking makes her come across as more than just a preety face. Maybe we should all write in Paris Hilton in 2008. She couldn’t be much worse than the choices we have and what we have been living with for the last two terms. If she were president, we would have the other world leaders banging down the doors to join in talks. All the old farts would be so distracted Paris could talk them into anything. Who would have thought Paris Hilton could be the solution to world peace. Okay, maybe not, but at least it would be easier (on the eyes) to watch all those state of the union and other televised presidential speeches.

Posted by: James | August 6, 2008, 9:31 am 9:31 am

Paris Hilton is a nobody with money made by her parents. Yes, a celebrity for the ignorant and a symbol of the decadent society she lives in. But then again, Obama is the beneficiary of affirmative action accepted to elite schools just because the color of his skin. Likewise, McCain calling himself a hero for being caught during war? I truly wish we had qualified candidates. Obama, Hillary, McCain – please retire.

Posted by: Paulo | August 6, 2008, 9:37 am 9:37 am

Yes, Paris, McCain is a “wrinkly old dude,” but at age 73, he has already accomplished a lot in his life. What have you ever done, besides get drunk, go to jail, and get laid by men you don’t know? When you are 73, sweetie, and your boobs are dragging and your lips no longer hold a silicone plump-up — in short, when you are a wrinkly old has-been hag — what will you have contributed to the world? Any ideas?

The republicans make me sick. On Friday Obama suggested the same idea of limited oil drilling but still trying to focus on new technology and he was labeled a flip flopper. Paris Hilton basically repeats the same line and the McCain campaign gives her credit for having a better energy plan than Obama when in fact it is Obama’s energy plan. I’m not a democrat or a republican but I am for the person with the better ideas that will take us to the next level because we are lagging behind Europe. Us as Americans can’t really visit Europe right now because the dollar is so weak. A McDonald’s value meal in the UK is about $10 when you do the conversion. It’s sad.

Posted by: Ali | August 6, 2008, 9:50 am 9:50 am

And the amazing, truly jaw-dropping thing here is that the McCain campaign released a response to Paris Hilton.
They felt the need to respond to Paris Hilton.
I don’t know if I have ever seen such a clown campaign, at any level of politics. Well, maybe some of the third party guys. The Libertarians had a candidate a few years back who built the entire campaign around rights of ferret owners. But short of that, McCain takes the cake.
They actually felt a need to respond to Paris Hilton. Mind boggling.

Colleen – McCain’s disrespect for women has been known for a long time around Washington. It’s like he never outgrew his days as a fighter pilot, when women were nothing more than “targets of opportunity” at the officers’ club.

Do you supose Obama is rethinking his cozying up with Hollywood and Oprah? Paris, Scarlett, has Carrot Top fallen in love with Obama yet, his endorsement is the one that may sway me yet to vote for Obama. Wouldn’t it be great to be a groupie for evertyhing in life, never having to think for yourself….

Posted by: Ex-dem | August 6, 2008, 10:13 am 10:13 am

It was a fair response, but I liked her Energy Plan because it was a small piece of the John McCain Energy Plan. The House went on break, and some Republicans stayed behind in the dark. The Republican Energy Act draft for 2008 that they want to debate includes everything Paris said and much more (as do the McCain Energy Plans).
However I take exception for Paris’ mention of John McCain’s white hair as though it had something to do with his age. It does not.
Navy Lt. John McCain had white hair when he left the Hanoi Hilton. A stay at this “Hilton” in no way reflects on the Barron Hilton or his hotels.
John McCain’s stay in the Hanoi Hilton was when Paris Hilton’s mother, Kathy, was 8 to 14 years old.

You McCain supporters are still as clueless as McCain is. If he had a strategy, maybe he would be offering it to America to show he actually is quality for something other than the National Inquirer. McCain is an embarassment to all Intelligent Republicans. I can’t believe he is the best you have to offer. He only has offshore drilling, Brittany Spears, Paris Hilton and now MOSES???? Seriously ?????? How do you spell biggest embarassment ever !!!!! MCCAIN !!!!
OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT, FIRST, LAST AND ONLY REAL CANDIDATE FOR 2008 NOMINATION.

Dynahog: “However I take exception for Paris’ mention of John McCain’s white hair as though it had something to do with his age. It does not. Navy Lt. John McCain had white hair when he left the Hanoi Hilton. A stay at this “Hilton” in no way reflects on the Barron Hilton or his hotels.”
Granted, McCain suffered as a result of getting shot down over Vietnam. But do those five years in a POW camp really buy him this many passes?
An ignorant man shouldn’t win the presidency just because he suffered a long time ago.

Posted by: Paul | August 6, 2008, 10:38 am 10:38 am

And besides, Dynahog, look at what you said. You take exception to Paris Hilton’s message?
This is Paris Hilton you’re talking about.
And McCain felt a need to respond to her ad.
My gosh, how this guy has lowered the conversation to clown levels.

I am thrilled to see Paris join Obama as the two candidates with NO experience and NO record of accomplishment in politics. Our War Hero, John McCain, will now have to shoulder the burden with his experience, long record of accomplishments and the trust of all Americans. Very dismal campaign season and John makes it palable for us as we await November to vote for John.

Karen: “oh yeah i’m still gonna vote for mccain!! anyone or anything is better than obama!”
Fair enough, Karen. By all means vote the candidate you think would make the better president.
But let me ask you why it is you think even a candidate as poor as McCain would be better than Obama? Do you believe the stuff that’s gone around in those anti-Obama e-mails?
That I could understand. If you really thought Obama was an anti-American, Manchurian-Muslim candidate, then I could understand how you’d even vote for McCain over him.

Bwahahah…..Obamanuts think an airhead blonde who is famous for making porn callling some presidential candidate an old wrinkly white guy is actually a reason to vote against a guy…perhaps if you are 12-14 years old. Geez, is Obama really this pathetic that Obamanots would get excited over what Paris says?

Posted by: chattyway | August 6, 2008, 10:43 am 10:43 am

chattyway: “Obamanuts think an airhead blonde who is famous for making porn callling some presidential candidate an old wrinkly white guy is actually a reason to vote against a guy.”
No chattyway, that’s not what Obama supporters are saying at all.
Your candidate has engaged this “airhead blonde” in a back and forth of “campaign” statements and responses. That’s jaw-droppingly sophomoric.
What we’re saying is that a serious candidate would have ignored Paris Hilton’s ad. McCain didn’t – he felt the need to respond.

Posted by: Paul | August 6, 2008, 10:47 am 10:47 am

Oh wait Obamanots can always scream that McCain’s first marriage didn’t work out and that some book writer claims he called his second wife a bad name (all while not mentioning that all the reporters that supposedly heard this newsworthy exchange never wrote an article about it.) This along with using tire gauges to combat our entire need for oil should surely convince Obamabots to vote for their idiot? Oh-loooooo….Don’t you guys worry, no matter how disappointing your guy is, you guys are always good for chuckles.

The new video of Paris is funny and it does show that she is probably much smarter than she acts at time. I’d vote for her over Obama any day. She again turned things around and helped her own image on this.

Posted by: chattyway | August 6, 2008, 10:54 am 10:54 am

I don’t like Paris but her McCain attack ad where she compares McCain to Colonel Sanders and Yoda had me LMAO! It’s funny that none of the major news networks played the intro where she specifically singled out McCain. On msnbc ‘The cup of Joe’, they made it appear as if the entire ad was about her ‘funny energy plan’. I guess the major networks don’t what ‘old’ people to see what young people think of ‘the old wrinkly white hair dude’.

This just solidifies what McCain was saying about Obama. It’s all about celebrity status with Obama.
I bet Obama is vetting Paris for VP right now, announcement should come anytime. Fire Kerry – make Paris your new surrogate, Obama.

To sit there and not even blink an eye when Oil Companies make Absurd Profits off the average American, it just makes me sick. If we are going to save the USA for future generations we better vote in OBAMA. McSame will NOT do a damn thing to help the country out. He is B.S. you when he blows smoke up your A$$. I don’t know. It just means she reads her prepared lines better than he can. But just because she can beat McCain doesn’t necessarily make her smart.

Posted by: Paul | August 6, 2008, 10:58 am 10:58 am

I don’t mind Paris hitting back – but I didn’t like the way she did it. I think the jerks that wrote the ad are just McCain ahters and it showed.

OMG: “If anyone is actually listening to Paris Hilton, their right to vote should be taken away.”
Under your criteria, McCain and his advisors couldn’t vote. They actually responded to her ad.

Paris has given us the energy policy. Now on to the rest of the economy. She certainly knows about money. . . maybe tax and spend for the super rich. Maybe Big O will have a spot for her under the cabinet, just like the other old white haired guy, Bill.

Posted by: Brian | August 6, 2008, 11:00 am 11:00 am

Paul….it means she or her handlers have a good sense of Marketing which is more than I can say for Obama who doesn’t have the sense to stay on teleprompter. Paris is showing she is better prepared than Obama for leadership and presidency than he. Atleast, she can stay focused and can choose good support personel.

Posted by: chattyway | August 6, 2008, 11:02 am 11:02 am

citizen: “I don’t mind Paris hitting back – but I didn’t like the way she did it. I think the jerks that wrote the ad are just McCain ahters and it showed.”
Citizen, you do realize the context in which McCain tried to use Paris Hilton, right? To get his ad, you have to think of her as a meaningless person who is only a celebrity for being a celebrity.
And you’re upset that her response seemed to be written by McCain haters? What did you expect?
And let’s not forget that this whole episode was brought to us by the McCain campaign, who not only thought it was cool to make fun of these two girls in a political ad, but then who have the sophomoric instincts to respond to Paris Hilton’s response.

Posted by: Paul | August 6, 2008, 11:03 am 11:03 am

Whats real funny is that the Obama nuts have nothing they can use but McCains age. Thats about all you read and hear from them. He has accomplished more than Paris, Obama and Hillary put together. I am glad to see her support Obama because this team up with him will most likely wake up more voters and they will realize whats in store for them with the loly pop gang. Maybe she is bucking! for a position under Obamas desk?

Posted by: Jim Rod | August 6, 2008, 11:03 am 11:03 am

Paul no….because this titt for tat is probably helping McCain. Think of it as marketing for McCain’s charges that obama is a celebrity and this back and forth makes it seem McCain has a sense a humour (which since you obamabots don’t have a clue I will tell you…..increases his likeability.) You seem to forget that Paris’s fan base would not have been voting McCain (and probably don’t bother to tear themselves away from porn to vote for anyone.)

Posted by: chattyway | August 6, 2008, 11:04 am 11:04 am

Chattyway: “it means she or her handlers have a good sense of Marketing which is more than I can say for Obama who doesn’t have the sense to stay on teleprompter. Paris is showing she is better prepared than Obama…”
Try as you might, there’s no way for you to turn this McCain embarrassment into a credible attack on Obama.
McCain opened the door to this, and McCain felt the need to respond to her response.

Posted by: Paul | August 6, 2008, 11:04 am 11:04 am

Jim Rod: “Whats real funny is that the Obama nuts have nothing they can use but McCains age.”
Again, you McCain supporters are confused. Paris Hilton made fun of McCain’s age. Obama supporters are just making fun of the fact that McCain felt the need to respond.

Posted by: Paul | August 6, 2008, 11:06 am 11:06 am

I think the media is influencing polls… I mean, if an Obama is projected to win by a landslide, there’d be NO NEWS til November. They have to keep that old, wrinkly guy around for headlines for a few more months.

Posted by: Doug | August 6, 2008, 11:06 am 11:06 am

So I am sure the rapid response team of the McCain campaign will be challenging Paris Hilton to a topless town meeting at a biker rally. Of course, Mrs. McCain will be John’s surrogate.

Chattyway: “You seem to forget that Paris’s fan base would not have been voting McCain…”
Um, this has nothing to do with winning Paris’ fan base, however big or small that might be (I really have no idea).
The fact that you’d even bring that up speaks volumes, about which side is more obsessed with celebrity.

Paris = the majority of people supporting Obama. Not a good sell.

She has no respect of person place or thing this shows her true colors and that is a fact.

Point taken. However the people that run the country (news media) demand a response and “no comment” is a death warrant.
At what point in our lives did we crack up? We allow drug, alcohol, and sex addicts to be the examples of good sound judgement.

And I’m guessing most of those viewers are supporting McCain, lol.

Posted by: Paul | August 6, 2008, 11:13 am 11:13 am

Paul, you still don’t get it. Paris comments aren’t going to help obama, and McCain’s response back isn’t getting help Obama—but you goofy Obamabots with nothing good to say about your dog of a candidate still cling and proudly broadcast this as if it were going to help Obama. It doesn’t and again, you missed another important point…McCains response wasn’t censorship or playing a race (or womar or age card) like Obama does when someone says something about him, it is just a bunch of funny videos and comments back and forth. It increases McCains likeability showing he has sense of humour while pointing out that Obama is fascist marxist. Obamabots know nothing.

Posted by: chattyway | August 6, 2008, 11:14 am 11:14 am

OMG – the media didn’t demand a response. My understanding is that the McCain campaign pushed a release to media outlets, to the surprise of all who assumed they’d never bother with this trite thing.
I guess next we’ll see McCain responses to Jib Jab videos.

Posted by: Paul | August 6, 2008, 11:15 am 11:15 am

Boy, talk about ‘jumping to conclusions’ here.
The McCain camp sure are being work-up over that vid by Paris. Paris was making a huge joke that if McCain compares Obama to her, that means she has what it takes to be President. She’s just a huge joke to tell the McCain camp that their ad was stupid and silly.

Posted by: GWP | August 6, 2008, 11:16 am 11:16 am

Oh and Paul…one other point that Obamabots failed to grasp—Paris wasn’t trying to hurt to McCain (old white wrinkley dude?) Older people are loyal voters—–they actually tend to actually follow thru on voting unlike kids—–the video gives older (the most realiable voters) more reason to go out and vote against the celebrity and kids all while not hurting McCain.

Posted by: chattyway | August 6, 2008, 11:16 am 11:16 am

Chattyway… just because McCain shows a slight sense of humor (and really, it’s his speech writers’ humor, not his own) doesn’t do anything to change the fact that he’s running a miserable campaign.

Posted by: Doug | August 6, 2008, 11:17 am 11:17 am

Carol: “She has no right even getting involved whith this because she has no idea what she is speaking about.”
Well, neither does McCain, but that’s another conversation, lol.
I think Paris Hilton has a right to get involved with this, because McCain’s political ad poked fun at her (and also because she’s an American with the right to speak out, but that’s another conversation).
She has a right, but we don’t have to pay attention. McCain, for some odd reason, not only paid attention but responded.
He engaged her, thus lowering himself to the level of debating Paris Hilton, lol.

Sounds a lot like McCain stammering into the microphone how Obama just doesn’t understand Iraq, lol.
Yeah, I guess Obama doesn’t understand how al Qaeda would take over when we leave, despite being part of the Sunni minority when even most Sunnis don’t like them. And I guess Obama doesn’t understand how Iran is supporting this tiny Sunni group.
But then Obama doesn’t even understand that Czechoslavakia is still a country.

Oh give me a break -
My comment was simple – PARIS HILTON – are you kidding me – my choice for president will not hinge on Paris Hilton, any other celebrity, or the all famous news media. I try to sort thru the garbage, learn what I can, and make my own decision. If I make my decision based on her, God help me and this country!
And, that was my point.

Trey: “Funny how Paris’ mom was so upset and outspoken against McCain’s ad featuring Paris but why wasn’t her mom as outspoken about her daughter showing her coochie to the papparazzi or getting arrested, or getting herpes, or using drugs, etc, etc, etc.?”
We don’t know what Paris’ mom said to her about her lifestyle. I’m sure whatever was said was done so in private. If this was your daughter, wouldn’t you say this to her in private?
And wouldn’t you be upset if a presidential campaign tried to exploit your daughter’s troubles for a joke?
The mom’s response made perfect sense to me.

McCain is doing really well and Obama may yet lose to the republicans and the most unlikely of republican candidates Mccain. Hint…..one more little scandal of Obama getting national media attention is likely to put a nail in Obama’s coffin. You may want to research Obama taking contributions from terrorists that is just leaking out this week.

The question is not why Obama has only 6 points lead despite his EU trip, the question should be on Mccain, despite his 26 years in the gov’t, war hero, fighter pilot, look very much presidentiable, talks as if he is more than THE ONE, but why is he still behind by 6 points against this new guy with funny name that most people never heard off. Why ?

Actually the only thing I’ve seen on fundraising embarrassments is a McCain bundler who bundled a bunch of California donations from people who say they have no interest in politics; and when the guy was asked where the money actually came from, he said he has a lot of business friends in Saudi Arabia.
Why is it whenever you scratch a Republican, you find a trail of corruption that leads back to Saudi Arabia?

Posted by: Paul | August 6, 2008, 11:27 am 11:27 am

Chatty–You obviously missed my comment earlier. I don’t trust polls any more than I’d trust McCain with a rich, single young woman… much like Paris. I think the media is influencing the polls, because a close race adds to their bottom dollar. I’ve spoken with enough people (Republican, Democrat, young, old) to know that there’s no way, even in a traditionally red state like Indiana, that McCain can win.

Posted by: voter100 | August 6, 2008, 11:34 am 11:34 am

Here is the ad…..for all you Obamanots pay attention…she is basically saying she is as qualified or better qualified than Obama. Hey America, I’m Paris Hilton and I’m a celebrity, too. Only I’m not from the olden days and I’m not promising change like that other guy. I’m just hot,” Hilton said, speaking as she reclined in a pool chair in a revealing bathing suit and a pair of pumps. “But then that wrinkly, white-haired guy used me in his campaign ad, which I guess means I’m running for president. So thanks for the endorsement white-haired dude.”
“I want America to know that I’m, like, totally ready to lead,” she said.
She then discusses energy policy, and suggests a hybrid of McCain’s offshore oil drilling plan and Obama’s incentives for new energy technology.
“Energy crisis solved! I’ll see you at the debates,” she said,
McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds said Hilton appears to support his candidate’s “all of the above” energy solution.
“Paris Hilton might not be as big a celebrity as Barack Obama, but she obviously has a better energy plan,” Bounds said.

While I’m sure that the average citizen wishes that they could express their views on the political scene and have it played by the media, there is a grain or two of truth among the chaff. While the overall message is tongue in cheek, I’m surprised that Paris understands the energy issue so well. In fact, her plan makes more sense than either of the candidates.

Paris, is just a blonde bimbo, who has a celeb status because of her last name. She just alienated herself from anyone who is of serious age. Paris, do everyone a favor and go take a long bubble bath, maybe it will help clear up the bubbles in your brain.

Its absolutely hilarious to watch McCain lower himself to Paris Hilton’s level, and then see his supporters somehow try to turn this on Obama.
“Its like these guys are proud of being ignorant.”
That has to be the best line of the campaign season to date.

Posted by: Paul | August 6, 2008, 11:42 am 11:42 am

Hee hee! McCain is funny. I like how he accepted campaign contributions from the Hiltons, and then turns around and uses their precious daughter as a mudball to sling at Obama.
Politicians are precious!

McCain (White-haired-dude) tried to have a litter fun at Paris Hilton and Britney Spears expensive, only he didn’t think that Paris would take him on.
White-haired-dude, it’s your turn. This time you got your butt handed to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doug, keep telling yourself that…..but I gotta tell you that the people I talk too aren’t as loud mouth as Obama’s supporters, but they will vote and they will be voting against Obama. This election was Obama’s to lose, and with all his stupid comments and actions he is working hard to lose it.

“Tucker Bounds of the McCain campaign boasts that Paris Hilton has endorsed John McCain’s “all of the above” energy plan.” This one is too ripe. I’ll start with:
Tucker should know. While showing McCain how to use the Internet he ordered all the Paris video tapes.

Posted by: Ricky | August 6, 2008, 11:44 am 11:44 am

On the other hand, maybe we need to take Paris more seriously. Rather than over promise, “an end to the age of oil,’ she has come up with a better energy plan than Obama without the advice of 100`s of Democrat advisors! Her presentation is much better than Obama`s as well.
The “age of oil?” I thought the elites buzzword was the “information age.”

Maybe she did and maybe she didn’t – we don’t care because she’s just Paris Hilton. Remember, its Republicans who are obsessed with celebrity.

Tucker Bounds says Paris Hilton endorses McCain’s “all of the above” energy plan. Too bad. Last night McCain endorsed all of the Obama energy plan he understands, keeping air in your tires.

Sam: “This is so funny, Obama has to resort to Paris Hilton fighting his battles now?”
The Republicans are in disarray. They haven’t got their talking points figured out yet. Half are trying to argue that Hilton was agreeing with McCain, and the other half are trying to argue that Hilton is Obama’s new surrogate.
“Its like these guys are proud of being ignorant.”
Remember, this is just Paris Hilton, who John McCain actually responded to in a press release, lol.

Can’t you people see that you are being used? You’re just tools that he’s using to help him get something that he really wants. He is doing it for himself and his own gratification, not for you. You served his purpose in the primary and then he abruptly moved to the center. He’s been doing it his whole life. Please reference TUCC, Grandma, Mentor Wright, etc..

But then perhaps the Hilton thing is serving another purpose for McCain. Though embarrassing to see the guy so obsessed with celebrity, it isn’t changing the conversation away from offering his wife up for a topless contest.

Was she driving in the pumps or on four flats?

I am serious….Paris is smarter than Obama and doesn’t have all the hate America, terrorist, and marxist ties that Obama has. She actually sounds like she understands the energy crisis better. She is a more interesting communicator than he to boot…..why not get rid of Obama and put Paris in his place? I thought you McCain supporters were arguing that Paris Hilton was joining McCain. Please, someone check the morning talking points.
But since we’re talking about accomplishments, it should be noted that McCain also has none and he’s been there for 26 years. That’s really sad.
Oh wait, he did have that campaign finance bill that got passed, which everyone acknowledges now was a complete failure.
Twenty-six years, and just that?

Mary, how dumb and errotic your comment must be? Paris was a millionare by default – not self-made. Obama is not “begging” for money – it is just the nature of our our presidential road. At least people are giving the money to him voluntarily, instead of using tax or government funds.
Even if people do not approve of Obama, don’t we need someone else with new ideas rather than someone like, John M, who agrees with the same distructive policies of (our biggest national shame) Bush? The man cannot even make a speech or gather a crowd, he goes to the crowd and reads his remarks, even the “funny” ones from a previously written document. How sad are republicans-clinging to desperation and cheap shots to make a ‘political statement”

She was slamming him. If it was an Obama Ad, they would have played it all. John McCain is old and has to read what others write and he even stumbles what he is reading. Why yes Obama does still have those people still given him over the internet.
Do you like his slick cuteness, listing GAZA as GA to be confused with GEORGIA (USA)?
Palestinian brothers inside the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip are listed in government election filings as having donated $29,521.54 to Sen. Barack Obamas campaign, according to WorldNetDailys (WND) Jerusalem bureau chief, Aaron Klein.
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?f...
The donations would violate election laws, including prohibitions on receiving donations from foreigners and guidelines against accepting more than $2,300 from one individual during a single election, Bob Biersack, a spokesman for the Federal Election Commission, said in response to a query.
The contributions also raise numerous questions about the Obama campaigns lax online donation form, which apparently allows for the possibility of foreign contributions.
Last week, the Atlas Shrugs blog outlined a series of donations in 2007 made to Obamas campaign from two individuals, Monir Edwan and Hosam Edwan (See 8/4/08, below). In an online form on Obama’s campaign site, the Edwans listed their street as Tal Esaltan, which they wrote was located in Rafah, GA.
Rafah is not a city in Georgia. The Atlas blog immediately raised concerns that the money may have been donated from the Gaza Strip town of Rafah.
A WND investigation tracked down the Edwans, who are brothers living in the Tal Esaltan neighborhood of Rafah, a large refugee camp in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
Speaking to WND, the two brothers praised Obama and admitted giving the money online to his campaign. They said they are not U.S. citizens or green card holders but are citizens of Palestine.
Monir and Hasam Edwan denied their financial transactions online were actual donations to Obamas campaign. Instead they claimed they purchased about $30,000 in Obama T-shirts from the presidential candidates online store — a contention that did not hold up during a WND interview, when they changed their story several times.
Monir Edwan claimed he sold the T-shirts in Gaza for around $9 and that a profit was made.
But it was pointed out to Edwan the T-shirts for sale on Obama’s website are listed as $20.08 and that selling the merchandise for less would not yield a profit.
Edwan could not explain how he managed to get shipments of T-shirts into the Gaza Strip during the months he claimed to have purchased the merchandise, since Israel imposed a tight closure of the Gaza Strip starting in June 2007 that lasted until June 2008.
We don’t want to cause any damage to Obama’s campaign, was Edwan’s reply.

It amazes’ me how little respect we have for our elders in this country. My Mother is 75 and works over 40 hours a week. Paris Hilton sits on her boney butt with her hair extensions and spray on tan mocking working Americans. I am offended by this tramps attitude. Obama or McCain it does not matter she is a selfish lazy leach. If not for her parents she would be on the streets. This country better wakeup and take a close look at what is important. It is not PH and her disrespectful attitude towards 70% of the American population. Change comes with action not lip service. If young Americans really want change, then do like I did in the 80’s, protest and fight for legislation that will make a difference in our children’s future. Wake up and get a clue, no politician is going to change anything that big business does not want changed. It will never pass in the House or the Senate. God Bless America!

Sooooo, if McCain is better than Obama as far as judgement goes, I can’t tell…He just made a commercial against his opponent using one of his maxed out campaign contributer’s daughter!!! Paris is a voter, ditsy as she may be, she could convince others not to vote for him just for the fact that he dissed her. Or she may by able to convince her friends to vote for him (would be smart to TRY to get the youth vote if he really wants to win) Paris’ mother, who may be a more intelligent woman than her daughter and Paris’ father who must be smart since he owns a huge hotel empire, can also lose interest and withdraw a vote for him. McCain could lose those votes on top of those of their family, friends and supporters who don’t like what he did to their daughter! Yeah, good judgement Mr. Senator, all of your years have made you VERY wise. What a hideous campaign! He needs to get rid of the karl Rove referred campaign heads and get back to the straight talk express pronto if he wants to try to salvage this campaign while there is still time. I AM SICK OF THE CRAPPY, SHALLOW INFOMERCIALS AGAINST THE OPPONENT!!!!!!!!!!!
SENATORS BARACK OBAMA AND JOHN MCCAIN TALK TO ME, THE VOTER, PLEASE!!!!!!!!
The commercials Senator McCain approves are ridiculous in that they show absolutely no depth to the elder senator and what his plans really are for this country. I see he is trying to appeal to “low information voters” but does he really think these voters are STUPID??!! I was a supporter of Senator Mccain when he ran in previous campaigns because he seemed to be a little different than the “regulars” in Washington and I HAD a lot of respect for him (The same went for Hillary Clinton when she tried the bad mouth approach instead of trying to really talk to voters, I lost a lot of respect for her judgement and her campaign). But now I have become so disgusted by his campaign of late that I am wondering what I should do; stay home on election day or vote for the new blood? Hey, we have had many, many, many, men who have run this country, some did a good job and others not so good. I don’t think having different, younger type of presidential candidate would kill us. Who said someone with different experience is a detriment to our country. The last time I checked, NO ONE had presidential experience before they ever held office, so can we please kill that argument already. I also like the fact that Obama seems to be more of a straight talker than his opponent. I KNOW, I KNOW SAY WHAT YOU WILL BUT, hey they are both politicians or have you forgotten that small fact. gET OVER IT THEY ARE BOTH GOING TO SWITCH OPINIONS SOMETIMES BUT IT IS THE DEGREE TO WHICH THEY SWITCH OR “compromise” on certain IMPORTANT issues).
Lastly, I hope people are not voting against a candidate but for one. I hope people are really going after the facts about these candidates and where they stand (TRUELY AND HONESTLY) on the “ISSUES”. Go to their websites, listen to their speeches in full. Compare what they said last year, the year before, hell last month or week to what they are saying now and then make your decisions.
Good Luck to all we are going to need it.

Mary, Aug 5, 7:20pm – The only reason why Paris and Britney were millionaires at a young age is because American media and Hollywood has their priorities screwed up. If America didn’t have pro-sports and movie-mania to siphon off our hard-earned dollars, we would be able to eradicate poverty and homelessness in America. Think about it.

Posted by: Paula | August 6, 2008, 2:20 pm 2:20 pm

Just goes to show you how easy it is to come up with a “plan” to do anything.
A lot harder to push it through. And McCain isn’t going to be getting much done with the majority Dem Congress he’ll be walking into.
Better if Obama wins. I’m sick of deadlock.

Before we come down too hard on all the rich celebs, remember that 52 cents out of every tax dollar goes to the military industrial complex, or paying off old debt to that same MIC.
We spend more than the next 20 top countries in the world spend (most all of them are our allies) on defense.
We spend too much on defense.
That is where all our money goes, not to Holleywood. One single B1 bomber costs more than Paris and Britney are worth.

Posted by: pissed American | August 6, 2008, 2:34 pm 2:34 pm

Paris’ response had me ROFLMAO! That was great, especially the dancing is a sin and beer in a bucket thing had me on the floor. All the people in the office (from project managers, senior engineers, alll the way down to the co-ops/interns) thought it was hilarious! Keep up the good work Paris, I dont like you, but keep it up (heck you might even beat McCain if you were running for president!)

I am NOT a fan of Paris Hilton, but have to give her credit for this one. Her ad was hysterical! Maybe she has more brains than we thought…. Mccain brought this one on himself but putting that juvenile ad out there to begin with. I was leaning towards voting for him at one point, but the longer this campaign continues, the more immature he appears (at 72!!) and the less appealing he is. I like that he’s a straight talker, but he needs to try and show SOME dignity.

AH HAHAHAHAHAHA
GOOOOO PARIS!

F*** Paris Hilton…can’t wait till she’s a wrinkly ol’ broad.

Posted by: BabsNJ | August 6, 2008, 2:51 pm 2:51 pm

I also do realize there are a LOT of haters and jealous people on this board. Don’t hate Paris for having money ya’ll, use her as an inspiration. Say to yourselves, Imma make as much money as Paris Hilton mooched off her parents, use that as a motivation factor. How you go about making this money is totally up to you! Instead of sitting behind your computers and worrying about how Paris didn’t earn her money, why don’t you start worrying about how you are going to get YOUR money.
America is becoming the land of the wellfare dependent, uneducated, constantly complaining, and scared group of people. What ever happened to the American Dream? Oh sorry, that only exists in the mind of foriegners who come here dirt poor and in a matter of years have more money than most natives!
Grow up, get an education or a skill and then go out and make some money instead of sitting here complaining about how you work 3 jobs and Paris works none and she should give you money.
By the way, I am not defending Paris in any way shape or form, I cant stand her (money is not the reason unlike a lot of ya’ll)

Actually entitlements are going to break us. America can’t even afford all the promises we made with Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. But Obama wants to nationalize health care – roughly 17% of our economy – and pile on new mandated federal programs. All in the name of creating a workers’ paradise.
The country is being taxed to death – worse, the tax system punishes success and pushes people down the economic ladder. Let’s cut the size of government before it consumes us all. America is supposed to be the land of opportunity, not a nanny state.
Republicans goofed leading up to 2006 with their abandonment of fiscal responsibility. Ultra-liberals Democrats now have an opening and we are all going to suffer the consequences.

Posted by: Rebel | August 6, 2008, 2:53 pm 2:53 pm

Paula, Hollywood and sports are not why people are poor and homeless around the world. Get a grip of yourself hippie, what your saying is that Africa is poor because of Hollywood and Soccer, not because of their crooked governments and the fact that their governments totally failed them, and their education/financial system.
I dont know if you are a bible thumper or just some crazy hippie, but I do know that Hollywood/sports are not the cause of homelessness and poor people!

This is the greatest Anti-Mccain video ad I’ve seen to date and doubt it will ever be beaten. Paris Hilton is swift, brainy, good looking and young plus plus plus. Mccain is made to look like the jerk he started out to be—to try and elevate himself by denigrating OBAMA at the expense of Paris and Britney. McCain’s dumb moves obviously didn’t work. And this video will become a classic in years to come—if it isn’t one already— of how careful one should be in politics today. In today’s world almost everyone in the U.S. has a computer. This video clip should be passed on to everyone willing to look at how stupid McCain is as a Presidential candidate. Let’s face he has already proven he is not Presidential calibre.
We thought Bush was the dumbest. Well guess what folks get ready for this guy. Only thing is he he might not make it.Let’s hope he doesn’t.No,impossible, he can’t. America can’t be this dumb. I refuse to believe it
I hope Paris doesn’t let up. Her family donated campaign money to McCain. Then he tried to embarrass her with his desperate video. McCain is a loser.
This video really is a CLASSIC. Great going Paris. People can see you’ve got it all together baby.
Everyone who has seen this clip thinks its hilarious and it says a lot about McCain. For those undecided voters out there come on— time to give OBAMA a bump in the polls and keep himn ahead from now on right to the election.. What are you waiting for? McCain to wake up some day and be intelligent? It can’t happen. OBAMA is the man with the brains.

What is Paris Hilton famous for? She’s a model, but that’s not it. She’s had her own TV show, but that’s not it either. She’s young and attractive, but that’s not it.
She’s a heiress to a large fortune someone else made!
Just like the McCains!

Paris Hilton has an IQ equal to her age. Everytime she opens her mouth, stupid comes out. The only thing her mouth is good for is ……………

Posted by: ihatecrime | August 6, 2008, 3:11 pm 3:11 pm

Can I ask why anything Paris says is worthy of news? I mean is there anyone out there that actually takes this girl seriously? She is an idiot for crying out loud! Not to mention a horrible actress!

Posted by: Jason | August 6, 2008, 3:12 pm 3:12 pm

Yeah, I see the republicans on the board trying their best to joke it off and insult Paris and Barack……But, Paris got you guys on this one.
McCain just gets SLAMMED at every corner.

Posted by: Raider | August 6, 2008, 3:16 pm 3:16 pm

It was a joke! It was a comedy skit like-SNL or Leno. What’s wrong with you people? I thought it was funny and happy to have something to laugh about, FINALLY! With all the backstabbing and baiting and lying, I am tired of politics with a long time to go. But this was funny! I laughed! It was even in better taste than The New Yorker cover! Don’t tell anyone, but John McCain KNOWS he’s older than Obama. It’s what he campaigns on: experience! Who’s the better leader? That’s what we need to find out without personal insults. We are entitled to our own opinions, but not our own facts–paraphrased from Senator Daniel Moynihan.

Posted by: L. M. Moon | August 6, 2008, 3:16 pm 3:16 pm

I laughed real hard when I saw the ad. Libs will not get it. This has turned real fun and taken the power away from Obama calling McCain old. Now what will the libs attack? I want more!

Posted by: Kurt | August 6, 2008, 3:25 pm 3:25 pm

L.M.Moon I’ve got news for you, being old does not equate to experience. McCain has nothing to say that interest anyone so he spend all his time talking down Obama. I’m sick of the white-haired wrinkled man trying to distract us from issues that matters.
As far as his age is concerned, McCain has been given a pass. If Obama had made all of the mistakes he has, like not knowing where Iraq is, the media would be all over him.

Posted by: voter100 | August 6, 2008, 3:28 pm 3:28 pm

What’s to argue? There is no excuse for a Republican anyway. After 12 years of pillaging this country and destroying it’s reputation, why do Republicans still think they are fit to retain power? Answer: They are so corrupt, they don’t care about the damage they have done. This McCain ad including Paris Hilton is just plain stupid, childish and a waste of money (as stated by Paris’ mom – a McCain contributor). And for anyone who thinks this ad works against Barrack Obama, is just plain “stupid and childish”.

Posted by: Will | August 6, 2008, 3:29 pm 3:29 pm

Will………You need to look around and see that the liberals are in control of most of the country. the SS system is going broke because the libs gave it to the boat people for over 20 years. and they are giving it to Mexicans who haven’t put any money into the system. The liberal collages promote robbing programs that were to help others by giving to people who don’t have the right to it. Look at your self you twit. Your the cause of your frustrations!

Get over yourself. Why so rabid when all I said was it’s a joke! and not news to Senator McCain that he’s older than Obama. McCain IS campaigning on experience. Let’s talk about Bush not knowing about Katrina or that gas was $4 a gallon a while back. We are trying to elect the new leader of the free world, thank God. I happen to believe Senator Obama will be better for the future of the United States. MY OPINION.

The self-proclaimed hot one
had complained that her image
in the ad was used without
her permission. The fact is
images like that are owned
by media organizations and the
McCain campaign almost certainly
paid the copyright holder for
its use.
She also babbles on about some
energy plan of hers which is
actually Obama’s word for word.

I don’t understand what the big fuss is over being a celebrity/polotician is anyway. Wasn’t Ragen a movie star, and Arnold Schwartznager and the governor of Montana, wasn’t he a big time wrestler? If anything, this ad from McSame helped the other candidate.

From Mccain reading off prepared script , telling the nation he is supporting his wife going into a topless( and sometimes bottomless) pagent, to win; to him trying to compare britney and paris to obama..??? What gives?? he’s disrespectful to women, for one thing….( remember what he called his wife?) And he tries to use Paris’s backfire as a positive thing…..
At this point, this guy, just might be insane…
ANyway, all i look forward t onow, is BRITNEY’s RESPONSE:….
too much stooping low, and disrespect, something mccain said he wouldn’t do… it’s harder to see the diginity in him…Britney, time to take after Paris and not let him step on you

Hilton’s response is in the same
league as what went on between

like a lot of people think Hilton
is funny in her attack video.

When you are an elected official,
or running for national office,
your political opponents may be
fair game but you can never treat
a citizen disrepectfully.
Hilton and Spears are citizens
not contestants in a race for
political office. McCain should
have never used their images in
his ad.
To make matters worse he went
about licking his chops
announcing to everybody it was
a fine ad and he enjoyed
watching it.

Put Paris in a North Vietnameese rathole, beat the stuffings out of her everyday for six years and see how “hot” she will look. She’s unfit to be a pimple on McCain behind. She silly and superficial.

John McCain has no manners these days-The kids learn from the old. Too bad the Old Guy is not that bright. He disrespected two females to knife Obama. Good for Paris and her mother-THEY doubled teamed McCain and made his look stupid like he is. Obama has more class–What happened to those family values the Republicans talk about. McCain acted like a jealous teen.

We all remember how Paris couldn’t even handle her stay at the LA Hilton, crying like a little b—h, let alone what McCain went through. She was too above handling her own mail. I heard this got 3 million hits, that just makes McCain’s point even more.

Posted by: pennsylvaniavoter | August 7, 2008, 1:17 am 1:17 am

Sorry pennsylvaniavoter, but being able to suffer years of torture in a vietnamese prison might make you a good candidate for prisoner of the year…but it doesn’t make you a good candidate for president of the united states. I could be wrong, but I don’t think presidents of the usa have to spend much time being tortured or in vietnamese prisons. So I don’t see how that experience is very relevant. In fact, like Bush showed us during 9/11, they just hide out in a plane far away from any danger and brag “Bring it on” from thousands of miles from the front while our troops get blown up in response.

Paris Hilton may be a really nice
person if you get to know her.
But at 27, she says and does things
that she may think are cute and
funny, and Valley Girl- like, but
they are not.
Calling a presidential candidate
“that wrinkly white-haired guy” and
“super old” and “that white-haired
dude” is not funny. It’s tasteless.
Of course, the video was written
and produced by others. But she
should have declined to perform in
it when the sketch was presented to
her.

Posted by: Latecomer | August 16, 2008, 2:15 pm 2:15 pm

Paris Hilton’s comeback was funny, but comparing her intellectually or otherwise to Obama cleary shows the ignorance, which most is influenced by racism, of many of the respondents to this article. Paris hasn’t earned anything but an inheritance and whatever money she has made from the publicity she thrives on. Get real and grow up!
