Did anybody see the new McCain ad “the One“ comparing Obama to God for the second time. This is sacrilege.
McCain has no respect for God and I hope all christians are taking not of this.
Many Blogs are encouraging people planning to attend McCain’s town hall to take 8 house keys and put them on a key ring to shake them at his town hall meetings in case he forgets how many homes he has again.
I think why McCain answered the Saddleback Forum questions with short sound bites is because he had the entire list of questions slipped to him in advance and he had practiced and edited his responses over many hours of practice sessions. On the stump McCain is not that sharp or focussed, but in the Forum several times he answered questions before Rick Warren had a chance to ask them, to Warren’s obvious surprise. A test of character? Using exam questions slipped to him by one of Warren’s aides? Not an honorable thing to do, is it? Grounds for getting expelled from a military academy, so should it be okay in a Presidential campaign. I don’t think so. He’s lost my respect by that fairly obvious stunt. Warren must be something less than amused to be made a chump of by someone he clearly was sympathetic towards. Nice way to return a favor, John!

The scary thing about house-gate is not how many houses the McCains own but the fact that McCain doesn’t know how many he owns. You would think he could count on his fingers and say, one in CA, one in AZ, etc. He admits he doesn’t know much about the economy, doesn’t know how to use the internet or email, and doesn’t know the difference between Shi’ia and Sunni. Do I think this guy should be President of the United States? Absolutely not!
Asking John McCain how many houses he and Cindy own is like asking Rezko how much money he and his family and his associates and his businesses have contributed to Barack Obama and his political aspiriations…

Decent American…you are the one who is lying. Both Michelle and Barack Obama come from humble backgrounds. They are both graduates of Ivy league schools and actually had student loans that they just finished paying back recently. They both have dedicated their lives to public and community service in Chicago. The money they have now is money they earned. Obama was not in any way connected to Rezko’s illegal activity. The people the Obama’s bought their house from have come out and said they paid the price that was negotiated. You need to stop spreading lies. The McCains were born rich. For example, associates of the bin Laden family invested in GHW Bush’s business. Does that mean that Bush endorsed the bombing of the World Trade Center? Of course not.
Richard Quinn, a notorious neo-confederate who has stated that slavery was good, and sells t-shirts glorifying the assassination of Lincoln, has been serving as a consultant to the McCain campaign, receiving money (50,000) for services for the campaign. Does this mean that McCain wants the South to secede? Hope not.

The most important point here is McCain is too insulated from the plight of the ordinary American. From choosing Phil Grahm as his economic advisor, to living the life of a multi-millionaire since he married Cindy, to his admitted ingnorance of how the economy works,McCain has shown himself unprepared and unwilling to be a president that will have ordinary Americans’ best interests at heart. And don’t even get me started at home dishonest it was to vote in Congress all those years, while he didn’t understand how the economy works. It is shameful.

Obama was cleared and came forward to papers answering all questions. Rezko tried to involve Obama in his trial to try and coast off his name, hoping for a character get-off from the jury. Didnt work. But apparently McCain wants to take Rezko’s word?

McCain did not know the answer, and suggested his staff would find out what he owns. He mumbled something about condos. Talking Points Memo noted they bought a second beach front condo during a moment where McCain said Americans would have to cut back on vacations.
In a followup piece, Politico’s Ken Vogel noted what Cindy McCain said in Vogue.
“When I bought the first one, my husband, who is not a beach person, said, ‘Oh this is such a waste of money; the kids will never go,’” she said in Vogue. “Then it got to the point where they used it so much I couldn’t get in the place. So I bought another one.”
And oh yeah, Obama’s wrong. It’s EIGHT houses.
Today’s New York Times has a piece on Aaron Spelling’s widow Candy downsizing from her mansion to a $47 million condo in Los Angeles. It’s the managing of the properties, cost of upkeep (and being alone in the house) making her choose to sell.
And in a big finally, Phil Gramm, McCain’s economic policy advisor, has been a lobbyist for UBS, and international bank. UBS is the bank blamed for causing the subprime mortgage meltdown, using Gramm’s advice. Gramm profited from the home forclosures. Worse still, his wife, Wendy Gramm, is a prime catalyst for the failure of Enron. She profited from that failure. So where Middle America needs their retirement funds and homes, Phil Gramm tells us to shut up and stop whining.
While McCain, too rich to bother counting his wealth, doesn’t know how many millions he’s spent on real estate. And doesn’t care enough to have advisors willing to help the rest of us out of this mess. His little people didn’t get back to Politico. They had to dig through the records to find what they could. Cindy McCain has not released her tax returns. Like the half sisters she suddenly turns out to have, who knows what else is buried in those things.
So ridiculous or minor, this issue is not.

Although not convicted of anything, McCain intervened on behalf of Charles Keating after Keating gave McCain at least $112,00 in contributions. McCain has admitted to using his influence on behalf of Keating, meeting with regulators twice to press his case.
Cindy and her father got into a sweetheart deal with Keating on a shopping center and made a bundle. McCain got free trips from Keating that he only paid him back for after Keating started getting in trouble.
McCain said of his involvement – “it was the wrong thing to do”. The ethics committee rebuked him for ‘poor judgement’

Governor Crist receives letter with nontoxic powder

TALLAHASSEE – Authorities are investigating who sent Gov. Charlie Crist a threatening letter containing a suspicious white powder.
The letter, which tested nontoxic, was intercepted at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s mail center at the state capitol. It was immediately sent to the Florida Department of Health for analysis, and preliminary results showed the substance wasn’t harmful.
The threat was first reported by a South Florida newspaper on Thursday.
FDLE spokeswoman Heather Smith says investigators believe the letter was unrelated to one received at a John McCain office in Colorado. Smith says the FDLE is satisfied Crist is safe and secure.

McCain’s gaffe was not to tell the reporter “None of your beeswax how many homes I have!”
It was a below-the-belt punch meant to ambush McCain and doesn’t merit a reply.
He should know he’s dealing with a biased media, and a vicious klan. Blow them off and show your feisty self again!
So Obama claims he’s in touch with voters because he has a mortgage. Not exactly.
A complaint is being filed with the FEC and the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Ethics about the sweetheart deal that Obama got on his $1.32 million mortgage. For this super super jumbo loan, he locked in a below average rate, and didn’t have to pay origination fee or discount points. What does Northern Trust expect to get in return? It would be hard for the rest of us to shave off $125,000 in interest payment from heartless mortgage bankers.
You’d think investigative reporters would check this smelly deal instead of asking Gramps how many homes he has.
This election is historical in the way that American voters have to do their own research if they want a balanced report on the candidates.

You see, the media bias in favor of McCain appears in the Politico article, Washington Post piece and Atlantic Monthly…suggesting McCain’s not knowing what he owns is not a big deal. For a guy who says he doesn’t understand the economy, yet owns property worth almost $14 Million Dollars, it’s a stretch to understand why he doesn’t know even that. Anybody can file a complaint. His mortgage rate was standard considering he had excellent financial prospects (his book was doing great) and mortgage lenders considered him a catch to have him as a client.

Rezko was convicted on charges which were not related to Obama. Much to the dismay of the press and the Republicans.
What McCain did went far, far, far, beyond any *appearance of impropriety*. He acted improperly. And he acted improperly in a case which ended with several people in jail, and with a loss of billions for the taxpayers and almost 300 millions for 21.000 mostly elderly investors.

Cindy and John McCain are rich, prosperous Americans. None of their wealth is ill-gotten gain. What’s wrong with them buying houses?
Furthermore, at least two of their houses were purchased for family members.

Obama’s remarks about McCain’s seven houses is going nowhere as far as the public is concerned. McCain can buy 15 houses and no one cares but Obama. Rezko paid for Obama’s mansion and if Obama was smart he would invest like Cindy McCain. Those condo’s were purchased for an investment which is the logical thing to do. So many people are having foreclosures on their homes and condo’s mainly because they didn’t put 25 to 30% down and bought property at a price over their head. McCain has nothing to do with foreclosures. If Cindy McCain was the heir to an estate and her two sisters were left out there had to be a reason for that. Besides that what she buys is her own business and not the business of Obama or Biden. Its her money. And who knows if Cindy gave or did not give her sister’s money. The trouble with politics is people dig into people’s personal business.

I think why McCain answered the Saddleback Forum questions with short sound bites is because he had the entire list of questions slipped to him in advance and he had practiced and edited his responses over many hours of practice sessions. On the stump McCain is not that sharp or focussed, but in the Forum several times he answered questions before Rick Warren had a chance to ask them, to Warren’s obvious surprise. A test of character? Using exam questions slipped to him by one of Warren’s aides? Not an honorable thing to do, is it? Grounds for getting expelled from a military academy, so should it be okay in a Presidential campaign. I don’t think so. He’s lost my respect by that fairly obvious stunt. Warren must be something less than amused to be made a chump of by someone he clearly was sympathetic towards. Nice way to return a favor, John!

They are both graduates of Ivy league schools and actually had student loans that they just finished paying back recently. They both have dedicated their lives to public and community service in Chicago. The money they have now is money they earned. Obama was not in any way connected to Rezko’s illegal activity. The people the Obama’s bought their house from have come out and said they paid the price that was negotiated. You need to stop spreading lies. The McCains were born rich. John is the son and grandson of Admirals. Cindy is the daughter of one of the biggest beer distributors in the country. It’s easy to be charitable when you know you don’t have to worry about money. republicans keep bringing up William Ayers, a guy who gave $200 to Obama’s re-election board and both men sat on the board of an anti-poverty group set up over 60 years ago by a telephone executive in Chicago. That is the extent of their connections.
Ayers is a distinguished professor at the University of Illinois and has never been convicted of a crime, yet is unapologetic about his involvement in the Weathermen, a group that set off 12 bombings to protest the war in Laos and Cambodia, during which nobody was killed (three Weathermen did die when a bomb they were making blew up). Obama was eight years old at the time.
Even if there was a relationship between the two men, so what? It is the height of idiocy to say there is any connection between what Weatherman did or stood for and Obama.
For example, associates of the bin Laden family invested in GHW Bush’s business. Does that mean that Bush endorsed the bombing of the World Trade Center? Of course not.
Richard Quinn, a notorious neo-confederate who has stated that slavery was good, and sells t-shirts glorifying the assassination of Lincoln, has been serving as a consultant to the McCain campaign, receiving money (50,000) for services for the campaign. Does this mean that McCain wants the South to secede? Hope not.

The most important point here is McCain is too insulated from the plight of the ordinary American. From choosing Phil Grahm as his economic advisor, to living the life of a multi-millionaire since he married Cindy, to his admitted ingnorance of how the economy works,McCain has shown himself unprepared and unwilling to be a president that will have ordinary Americans’ best interests at heart. And don’t even get me started at home dishonest it was to vote in Congress all those years, while he didn’t understand how the economy works. It is shameful.

Obama was cleared and came forward to papers answering all questions. Rezko tried to involve Obama in his trial to try and coast off his name, hoping for a character get-off from the jury. Didnt work. But apparently McCain wants to take Rezko’s word?

Again, for those so desperately trying to defend McCain…and being clearly unable to, here’s the deal.
A site owned by a GOP supporting board asked McCain how many houses he owns. Politico is owned by a group that once owned ABC (Capital Cities).
McCain did not know the answer, and suggested his staff would find out what he owns. He mumbled something about condos. Talking Points Memo noted they bought a second beach front condo during a moment where McCain said Americans would have to cut back on vacations.
In a followup piece, Politico’s Ken Vogel noted what Cindy McCain said in Vogue.
“When I bought the first one, my husband, who is not a beach person, said, ‘Oh this is such a waste of money; the kids will never go,’” she said in Vogue. “Then it got to the point where they used it so much I couldn’t get in the place. So I bought another one.”
And oh yeah, Obama’s wrong. It’s EIGHT houses.
Today’s New York Times has a piece on Aaron Spelling’s widow Candy downsizing from her mansion to a $47 million condo in Los Angeles. It’s the managing of the properties, cost of upkeep (and being alone in the house) making her choose to sell.
And in a big finally, Phil Gramm, McCain’s economic policy advisor, has been a lobbyist for UBS, and international bank. UBS is the bank blamed for causing the subprime mortgage meltdown, using Gramm’s advice. Gramm profited from the home forclosures. Worse still, his wife, Wendy Gramm, is a prime catalyst for the failure of Enron. She profited from that failure. So where Middle America needs their retirement funds and homes, Phil Gramm tells us to shut up and stop whining.
While McCain, too rich to bother counting his wealth, doesn’t know how many millions he’s spent on real estate. And doesn’t care enough to have advisors willing to help the rest of us out of this mess. His little people didn’t get back to Politico. They had to dig through the records to find what they could. Cindy McCain has not released her tax returns. Like the half sisters she suddenly turns out to have, who knows what else is buried in those things.
So ridiculous or minor, this issue is not.
John McCain is too rich to care how rich he is.
No one can justify such stupidity.

Although not convicted of anything, McCain intervened on behalf of Charles Keating after Keating gave McCain at least $112,00 in contributions. McCain has admitted to using his influence on behalf of Keating, meeting with regulators twice to press his case.
Cindy and her father got into a sweetheart deal with Keating on a shopping center and made a bundle. McCain got free trips from Keating that he only paid him back for after Keating started getting in trouble.
McCain said of his involvement – “it was the wrong thing to do”. The ethics committee rebuked him for ‘poor judgement’

Governor Crist receives letter with nontoxic powder

TALLAHASSEE – Authorities are investigating who sent Gov. Charlie Crist a threatening letter containing a suspicious white powder.
The letter, which tested nontoxic, was intercepted at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s mail center at the state capitol. It was immediately sent to the Florida Department of Health for analysis, and preliminary results showed the substance wasn’t harmful.
The threat was first reported by a South Florida newspaper on Thursday.
FDLE spokeswoman Heather Smith says investigators believe the letter was unrelated to one received at a John McCain office in Colorado. Smith says the FDLE is satisfied Crist is safe and secure.

McCain’s gaffe was not to tell the reporter “None of your beeswax how many homes I have!”
It was a below-the-belt punch meant to ambush McCain and doesn’t merit a reply.
He should know he’s dealing with a biased media, and a vicious klan. Blow them off and show your feisty self again!
So Obama claims he’s in touch with voters because he has a mortgage. Not exactly.
A complaint is being filed with the FEC and the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Ethics about the sweetheart deal that Obama got on his $1.32 million mortgage. For this super super jumbo loan, he locked in a below average rate, and didn’t have to pay origination fee or discount points. What does Northern Trust expect to get in return? It would be hard for the rest of us to shave off $125,000 in interest payment from heartless mortgage bankers.
You’d think investigative reporters would check this smelly deal instead of asking Gramps how many homes he has.
This election is historical in the way that American voters have to do their own research if they want a balanced report on the candidates.

No Peach, Obama acknowledged that it might have created the *appearance* of impropriety, and stated “I consider this a mistake on my part and I regret it.”
Rezko was convicted on charges which were not related to Obama. Much to the dismay of the press and the Republicans.
What McCain did went far, far, far, beyond any *appearance of impropriety*. He acted improperly. And he acted improperly in a case which ended with several people in jail, and with a loss of billions for the taxpayers and almost 300 millions for 21.000 mostly elderly investors.

Obama’s remarks about McCain’s seven houses is going nowhere as far as the public is concerned. McCain can buy 15 houses and no one cares but Obama. Rezko paid for Obama’s mansion and if Obama was smart he would invest like Cindy McCain. Those condo’s were purchased for an investment which is the logical thing to do. So many people are having foreclosures on their homes and condo’s mainly because they didn’t put 25 to 30% down and bought property at a price over their head. McCain has nothing to do with foreclosures. If Cindy McCain was the heir to an estate and her two sisters were left out there had to be a reason for that. Besides that what she buys is her own business and not the business of Obama or Biden. Its her money. And who knows if Cindy gave or did not give her sister’s money. The trouble with politics is people dig into people’s personal business.

Willem van Oranje: Cindy probably doesn’t have mortgages. And for the records who cares how many homes or condo’s they have or that they are millionaires. Obama probably doesn’t owe on his house either since he has 4 million in the bank If Obama is so worried about McCain’s houses he should buy about 4 condo’s at the price of $275,000 and pay cash for them then he would have one mansion and four condo’s. Obama should campaign on the issues and not on property. People want to know what changes (give me a break) he is going to make since that was his slogan.

Arthur: I believe your dead wrong about McCain. McCain can answer questions much better and quicker than Obama and everyone knows that Obama lost debates before because he hesitates too much before answering. There were no answers in advanced to those questions you just use your brain. Someone started a rumor because Obama failed. McCain is good at answering where Obama has to think. McCain doesn’t have to cheat, he is ten times smarter than Obama in politics and foreign policy. Biden will have to teach Obama in order for him to run the country if elected. I think they should make a switch. Biden should be president and Obama VP.

Khan: You said the right statements. Obama should mind his business and keep his mouth shut about McCain’s houses. It is based on fact that Rezko purchased the house Obama is living in because Obama had no money to buy it. Of course Obama wanted a mansion that he couldn’t afford. Now he has turned his back on Rezko after Rezko paid for his house. What Obama should be concentrating on is the issues of change and what changes we can make to help the poor that some are living on the street. The price of oil. Passing a bill for the vets to have hospitalization and transportation free. I know that the VA is charging the vets for medication. I sincerely hope that McCain wins the election or god will have to help us.
