Stevens to Join Bush in Alaska
EmailABC News’ Jennifer Duck Reports: Embattled Republican Sen. Ted Stevens of Alaska will be with President Bush in Fairbanks, Alaska tonight.
Bush stops in Alaska before heading on to Bangkok, Seoul, and Beijing for the Olympics. Bush will give remarks to troops at Eielson AFB and sources say Stevens will be at the base with Bush. This is the first time Stevens will be seen with the president since he was indicted last week.
Stevens is pleading not guilty to seven counts of corruption for failing to report gifts he received from an oil company, but the longest sitting Republican has not been hiding. Stevens spoke on the Senate Floor Wednesday and was seen on the Floor chatting with congressional colleagues.
On Friday, Press Secretary Dana Perino seemed unaware if Stevens would be in Alaska with the president but said Stevens was still invited if he wanted to come.
"I don’t know if he (Stevens) is going to be going on that trip but protocol is that any member of a state is invited to travel with the president and that did not change in his case," Perino told reporters.

Senator Obama received a $300,000 free equity in his mansion when he and Tony Rezko conspired to buy property the very same day. Did Senator Obama claim this $300,000 as a gift or assets received on his legal tax and senate forms. I bet not. Same as Senator Stevens or worse.

He’s the only Senator in the U.S. that wants to be seen with Bush. I guess standing next to Bush, by comparsion, he doesn’t look like such a terrible crook.

Obama is calling for a future free of oil. Just wonder how Obama expects to use air force one to jet to all of our enemies and kow tow to them for all of the so called wrongs Obama seems to think the US is responsible for. Mean while all of our enemies will have more access to the world’s oil while the US takes a dive economically and militarily all thanks to Obama, should he be elected.

This is the senator that was over the sub-committee in 05 when oil company CEO’s were called in about price gouging, he REFUSED to swear them in. Had they been swore in then anything they said un-truthful could come back to haunt them. Now indicted for taking kickbacks from an oil company and lying about it, who would have thought! He and Bush should get along great!!!

and his trial starts just before the election. I think repubs want dems to wins because they have no idea how to fix all of the problems they have caused since they took over. Just like ’92 all over again.

There are tens of thousands of people sitting in prison tonight for relatively minor crimes (drug possession, bad checks, car theft, etc.) who are silently screaming, because they know these crooks, who have committed major crimes, will not see a minute behind bars. Damned shame.
