Sen. John Edwards, D-NC, tells ABC News’ Bob Woodruff that he did indeed have an affair with novice film-maker Rielle Hunter.

In an interview to air tonight on Nightline, Edwards — who continually argued to voters that he had greater electability than did Sens.. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, and Barack Obama, D-Illinois — denies, however, that he is the father of Hunter’s baby daughter.

We’d always heard that Clinton remained in the race so long because she’d heard a bombshell would drop on her rival, Obama.

So she’s partially vindicated — she just had the wrong rival.
