U.S. Secret Service on Way to Biden’s House; Kaine and Bayh Told Nope on Veep

The United States Secret Service has dispatched a protective detail to assume the immediate protection of Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del., a source tells ABC News, indicating in all likelihood that Biden has been officially notified that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, has selected him to be his running mate.

Sources also tell ABC News that two others said to be finalists for the position of Obama’s running mate — Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., and Virginia Gov Tim Kaine — have been told they have not been selected for the vice presidential slot.

Kaine flew to Denver earlier today, is in Denver tonight and has no plans to leave in the next 24 hours. Bayh is at his Washington, DC, home with his family.

Biden was last seen minutes ago at his Wilmington estate where his extended brood is gathering.

The Obama campaign would not comment, but Obama mentioned Biden twice in speeches on the trail this week, both times heralding his legislative leadersip in East Asia.

At the VFW convention in Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday, Obama said, "we must help Georgia rebuild that which has been destroyed. That is why I’m proud to join my friend, Senator Joe Biden, in calling for an additional $1 billion in reconstruction assistance for the people of Georgia."

And in Chesapeake, Virginia, Friday night, Obama heralded Biden’s efforts to provide economic assistance to Afghanistan.

"I joined with people like Joe Biden to increase a billion dollars of investment," he said.

How is Obama going to be the symbol of change with a senator who has been in office since 1972? I like Biden, i really do, but Biden worries me as VP.
I hope Obama can still win.

And who are these people who fell for the oldest marketing trick in the world and gave their cellphone numbers to Obama for future spam?
Biden or no Biden Obama’s problem goes beyond experience. He just can’t be trusted. People get a sense that he will play both sides of an issue to get his way. If he says he believes in something, you sit there wondering how long will that belief holds before it shifts.
That a problem no Biden or Hillary can solve.

Ridiculous choice!
Biden is a Washington insider for life. LOL! Obama really has no experience at all!

If Obama picks Biden then it’s game over for his Presidental campaign.
World events and the Republican media machine will leave Obama wondering why he didn’t do a deal and take Hillary Clinton on board. She is his only chance.
Omama can pack up and head back to Hawaii and save himself and his family the anguish and the agony of defeat of the coming months to the election.

Biden is a long term, do-nothing, washington insider. This does NOT represent change. I hope to God these rumors are incorrect. Biden would be a worse choice than Clinton. I thought Obama was smart! I will give him the benefit of the doubt, hopefully we’ll hear different tomorrow morning!

Posted by: Eric | August 22, 2008, 11:08 pm 11:08 pm

I think Biden is an excellent choice….he is a symbol of the old guard that will result in Obama losing his bid to be coronated as king of america!

Posted by: Dave | August 22, 2008, 11:08 pm 11:08 pm

What a joke about his supporters knowing first. What a joke. I’m really disappointed and feel like I got sucked into nothing but a marketing campaign. Unless he pulls Al Gore out of retirement, this process has been really disappointing and has actually eroded my trust in Obama.
I don’t know much about Biden, but he comes across arrogant and loves to hear himself talk. I’m hoping I can push that aside and look at this new ticket objectively, but right now, I think this whole campaign was a huge mistake to lead the American people, most importantly, his supporters on like this.
So much for being the first to know.

Posted by: cool | August 22, 2008, 11:08 pm 11:08 pm

I doesn’t matter who he picks because whoever it is far surpasses him in qualifications for President. Biden was the one who criticized him first for this saying the Presidency was no place for on-the-job training.

Posted by: Detcord | August 22, 2008, 11:08 pm 11:08 pm

Biden is a losing selection. He plagiarixed a speech word for work and had to withdraw from the 1988 election.
Oh, Obama plagiarized the Gov. of Mass speeches too.
Seems like a marriage made in a political science class.
Sorry, this time I have to go with the moderate and the leader: Senator McCain.

Since when is a call to give $1 Billion in US Taxpayer’s money to a foreign country that provoked a war with a neighbor considered Consitutional and wise? I’m thinking the only thing more disturbing than Biden’s idea is Obama’s embrace of him and it…

It’s highly doubtful that anyone at the Secret Service would divulge the true identity of the VP choice at this time. The anonymous source is simply not sufficiently credible.

Geez, disrespecting other people does not help making your case. I for one, understand completely Obama’s Choice. He is for change, but he has also said that to bring about Change, we must sometimes compromise. So, he is compromising by picking Sen. Biden, which I really like, so that he can have a successful bid. These right wing-nuts have no brains? Hey, if we were created by God, who created God? See if you can answer that? And, why is you are a ‘religious’ person and have ‘values’ do you stoop so low and attack other people. No wonder we have George Bush as president, some people just deserve what they get!

Posted by: Christoph | August 22, 2008, 11:13 pm 11:13 pm

I’m afraid its going to take a lot more than Biden to prop up that empty suit. The only potential VP out there who could actually help him win is Hillary Clinton. Without her, he is so toast. Biden brings nothing to the ticket besides being a liability. Even Evan Bayh could have at least helped make Obama competitive in Indiana without brining any negatives. Biden doesn’t help strengthen Obama in any state! But his tendency to stick his foot in his mouth will leave the McCain camp lots of sound bites to use against them.
If Biden is the pick, then McCain/Romney (which is likely) will clean house this November. A very, very poor choice on Obama’s part.

Just like the “free” tickets to his coronation, that cost hours of volunteer time, or $1000, whichever comes first. Wake up, Obamamaniacs! The only change you’ll get from this loser is the tiny bit that’s left in your pocket after he finishes taking it all for campaign donations, or, if, God forbid, he actually won the election, increased taxes. To the people still poking fun at McCain for not knowing the number of houses he has…all politicians have missteps, can’t recall details, etc… whether it be in the personal or professional life.
Recently Obama was asked about providing health care in hospitals to children suffering from asthma. He said if the “kids were getting treatment, you know with the breathalyzers…”. Is this as big a gaff as McCain, no. Did McCain gets his houses legally and without having to use a now convicted felon? Yes. Did Obama? No. That’s the REAL housing story. You rabid Obama supporters need to look deeper into the Tony Rezko story. Those were some shady real estate deals.

Joe Biden is one of the most well-versed, knowledgable and well-connected Democratic politicans on foreign policy, and he is the best possible choice for Obama to balance out the ticket. Joe will also appeal to white Catholic and blue-collar voters. He won’t deliver any key state, but he will help Obama’s credibility nationwide. And Biden will kick — in a debate. In all the Democratic debates, Biden was even more knowledgable and well-versed than Hillary Clinton. Obama and Biden will make the best ticket I will have the privilege to vote for.

When Bush engaged Iraq, Liberals reminded us of the “Pottery Barn Rule.” Specifically, if you break it, you bought it. We were expected to pay for the damage we did in Iraq.
Under an Obama administration, we apparently will have a reverse pottery barn rule. Obama explains “in calling for an additional $1 billion in reconstruction assistance for the people of Georgia.” Applying the wisdom of the left, this means:
If someone else breaks it, you still pay for it.
It’s remarkable what a lifetime of inexperience, association with deviant friends and guilt can lead you to believe.

Biden is an excellent choice – he has integrity and he tells it like it is. People don’t like to hear the truth but he is honest and doesn’t pull any punches. Great choice to bring back integrity to the White House. I guess having Cheney – the master of deception and deceit, the architect of hate and destruction for 8 years has made people lose sight of what a real politician stands for. Vote McCain and we will get see this country destroyed by this senile, hothead who cant remember how many homes hes has.

Biden will clean the floor with what little is left of the Republican/McCain’s pretense to knowing anything about national security.
I can only hope that McCain will actually pick the walking PowerPoint that is Mitt Romney. Might as well make things even easier for us. Time to toss the thuggish Republican gang out.

Del. is a buzz…I think the most awful part of this is that everyone was expecting the announcement today via text. The local blogging crews were even at Dead Presidents (a Del. restaurant) hoping to be raising a glass of brew to our Sen/VP nominee. I just feel like I wasted an evening watching the pundits chase their tales. By the way, we talked back in 2000 when I was campaigning for McCain here in Del. This go around isn’t that exciting…but it’ll pick up again in September…Hope to see you on the trail. See me on facebook

“Why not Hillary?”
Because of Bill Clinton. There are certain documents Bill refuses to release. There’s also a controversy brewing about his business abroad.
Hillary – Bill = VP
Hillary + Bill= Senate

Biden is absolutely the best choice. He’s been in Washington and has the experience of congress, but yet he’s viewed as a breath of fresh air of honesty, integrity, and wit. He knows what to say and how to say it. Very solid pick, probably the best possible pick.

The CHANGE that Obama is promoting is a change from the goons currently running our country down the drain, and I think if the VP choice IS Joe Biden we will all be lucky. Unlike W and Cheney, neither candidate smirks or stumbles around with a lousy vocabulary. They are both SMART SMART SMART and don’t need teleprompters (or Joe Lieberman whispering in their ears) to know what to say.

isn’t it ironic that Mccain supporters are bashing
Biden for saying stupid things. I’ll wager Biden knows whose on our side in Iraq. Also, the plagarizing happened just about the time McCain was one of the Keating Five. Do you really want to review the 80′s?I’m also willing to wager Biden didn’t graduate in the bottom .5% of his class.

Oblah-blah just doesn’t get it. HALF of our party voted for Hillary Clinton. Half of them aren’t pleased. The nominee cannot win with a full quarter of the party sitting out the election/voting for another candidate. It’s simple mathematics. Then there is simple truth: old women vote. Religiously. Frat boys don’t. Statistically. Hail to the chief: John McCain. I can’t wait to see in Obama’s eyes (and those of his supporters) what I saw in the eyes of so many Hillary supporters after the nomination was stolen from her. I can’t wait to see them EAT it.

Sorry to burst your bubble about McCain. He and Cindy have had plenty of real estate transactions with CHARLES KEATING of the Lincoln S&L scandal. Not only real estate, they were best friends and he made use of Keating planes, etc. etc. Rezko can’t hold a candle to the corruption of Charles Keating and the poor judgement of John McCain.

I join my fellow posters in their impostering.
Biden just called me and told me Pelosi was Obama’s choice. I would have preferred Obama choosing himself as VP. Then everyone could have choked on the “The One” and “The Two”! That would turned all the wingnutz back into whirling dervishes. The Constitution doesn’t prohibit it. I checked with the psycho-pubic hair Clarence Thomas and his fellow fascisti, Il Duce Alito.
See you in January with President McCain and his fellow dead-enders and thugs…

I think Biden is the best possible choice. He’s brilliant on foreign policy and he’s brilliant on judicial and Constitutional issues. He adds experience and age to the ticket in addition to his expertise on foreign policy and the Constitution.
As to the text messaging, I think it’s brilliant on behalf of the Obama campaign. There’s been a few bumps in the road, but this campaign has been run so well. Those text numbers can be used for get out the vote, other messages from the campaign. Brilliant move by the campaign.

I’ve watched Joe Biden at too many Senate hearings where he tries to grandstand and badger whoever is testifying, and then flash his little fake smile. Reminds me of an oily used car salesman. Obama obviously was trying desperately to choose someone with gravitas, but there really aren’t any Democrats who fit the bill.

Posted by: NoBama/Marx '08 | August 22, 2008, 11:33 pm 11:33 pm

It’s really precious to see Clinton supporters complaining about Biden being a Washington insider who said bad things about Obama during the primary campaign… might I remind them of how much of an insider their ‘chosen’ one is? Or that she endorsed McCain over Obama? By comparison Biden’s comments were flattering.
As to the other ‘crap’ and yes, folks that is what it is. I don’t care who you support or what party you belong to – there is little question that this Administration and Karl Rove don’t believe in rules when it comes to elections. Obama needed a VP candidate with serious foreign policy chops just to avoid the melt-down from ‘lemmings’ (those who panic and run) WHEN this admin would have a ‘terrorist alert or threat’ in October. Surely you can see that -
McCain – plaigarizer, elitist, womanizer, hothead who called his wife a c*nt (this is easy to verify too)… I find it hard to complain about Obama or Biden in light of all that.
Keep in mind, we have people coming back from a year in Iraq with serious PTSD and they weren’t POWs. McCain was a POW for 5 years and never got ANY help when he got home… you REALLY wanna believe he’s stable? Dream on. Take a few moments to look up what other Republicans have said about him in the past. They are the ones with whiplash now… scared to death of him but lining up in march step to get him elected. Congratulations if you succeed…. I just wonder how you would call yourself a Patriot in that event. Being loyal to a Party is not the same as being loyal to your country or the world.
Can’t we PLEASE have a President that believes in getting along for a little while?

Clinton — Obama’s main rival during the primary season — has been informed by Obama’s campaign that she is not his choice to be his vice presidential candidate, the source said.

To all you Hillary “supporters” voting for McCain and his neo-con backers:
When your sons and nephews end up drafted for an ill-conceived effort to “spread democracy” to Iran or Sudan, when your daughters and nieces end up dying from complications from third-world abortions, because there’s no place for a safe procedure here, when your grandchildren are suffering through the Second Great Depression because our oil-dependent economy has collapsed and the dollar has lost all value, there will be no one to blame but yourselves. But I will remind you every single day of what you have done to ruin your country. A vote for McCain is a vote for Lindsey Graham as Secertary of State, Trent Lott as Secretary of Health and Human Services, and two more Scalias on the Supreme Court. It’s a vote for tax cuts for the rich and budget deficits, and a vote against universal health care, reproductive rights, and peace in the Middle East.

If it’s Biden, Obama has really hurt himself. Biden adds no regional strength, no executive experience, no military service, and no credibility on issues important to centrist-right voters. I mean, Biden has run for president several times and shown he does not attract voters. Beyond that, Biden is notorious as a blowhard, self-centered personality who’s signature moment in public life was to be confirmed as a serial plagiarist. Finally, he muddles from Obama’s “newness” There’s absolutely nothing fresh about Joseph Biden. What a self-destructive choice for Obama, very much like Edwards in 2004.

Posted by: SARileyMan | August 22, 2008, 11:41 pm 11:41 pm

Amazing. Joe Biden can’t possibly be Obama’s choice. Is the memory so short as to have forgotten Biden’s failed attempt at the nomination which was spurred on by his plagarism? There is no bigger ego in the Senate and his style of grandstanding and ‘used car salesman’ persona are major negatives.
McCain would wisely counter with a clean cut, articulate and charming Romney and if the VP debates have any influence would have a major advantage.
I have to believe this is some form of political feign to disguise who the REAL candidate is.

Obama is a joke. I’m from Illinois and I can honestly say he has done nothing since he was elected to office. It is laughable that since he sounds articulate people are falling head over feet for the guy. He has no experience and clearly will work to bring a socialist agenda to Washington. Is this the kind of change you want for America? Don’t take my word, research it. In fact I suggest everyone research these guys before voting. Look at their voting records. Does Barrack Obama really represent your views? Read his comments while he was running against Hilary. Amazing how his views have moved to the center since he locked up the nomination. Don’t be lazy, be informed.

Can’t wait to see Biden eat the Mittster alive. Hey Mitt, my son is shipping out to Iraq in September, McCain’s boy is there now. What did you say your FIVE sons did in lieu of military service? Drive around in the MittMobile? Should be fun to watch.
Maybe McCain will think twice and nominate Bobby “”the Exorcist” Jindal. Now that would be worth the price of admission.

Fact: John McCain has 8 plus houses and his wife spent over 500,000 in AMEx in June. With daughter spending 50,000. They really feel Williams pain and everyother person who will never see this kind of money in their bank account to blow in one month. Reading these comments is horrifying. Is it impossible to be level-headed about any candidate? How does it help any of our country’s problems to trash these people who are, at least, trying to make things better? I’m distressed for our population if this inane (at best) and stupidly vicious (at worst) chatter is a true sampling of our electorate’s mindset. Vote whichever way you want, but slinging extremist slurs at McCain, Obama, Biden, Clinton, etc. is just depressing to read and disspiriting to consider. My sons and grandchildren deserve better than this.

Christie wrote the Dems needed Hillary. I agree. She would have added real strength to the ticket where it matters: OH, CO, NV, and FL. Biden? The man ran for president and got no where. He has been proven to have almost no appeal in presidential-level politics. He’s a gaffe machine with a short shelf life. He’s on the record, recently, opining that Obama is not up to be being president. This is a huge, huge mistake if indeed it is Obama’s choice.

Posted by: SARileyMan | August 22, 2008, 11:46 pm 11:46 pm

I’m sort of shocked that people would say they won’t vote for Obama because they didn’t get his VP pick first on their cell phones before someone broke the story that Secret Service were sent to the Biden residence. Are you really that self-centered? I mean, really and truly?

Posted by: mlk | August 22, 2008, 11:47 pm 11:47 pm

Absolutely terrible pick if it is Sen. Biden. Like most VP selections, choosing Biden will not influence voters in the slightest come November — he’s not going to win Sen. Obama any votes, nor is he going to really cost him any.
However, picking Gov. Kaine of Virginia could potentially tilt Virginia in Sen. Obama’s favor, thus dramatically increasing his chances of capturing the White House. Gov. Kaine is not nearly as popular as his predecesor, Mark Warner (who will win his Senate race by 40 points), but Kaine could probably deliver 2-3% of the independent vote here, and that might be just enough to win the state.
As a McCain supporter, I hope Sen. Obama chooses Sen. Biden because it won’t help him win in November.

Any Democrat that claims that they will vote for McCain over Obama regardless of the VP choice is not a DEMOCRAT!! Obviously you don’t care about Abortion Rights, HEalthcare, The Economy, our standing in the world and the Supreme Court to name a few. Biden is a good choice, precisely BECAUSE of his sharp tongue.
Obama is too cool, too calm, to really lace it into McCain and the Republicans. On DailyKOS, they were hoping that Obama would nominate a real attack dog as his running mate, and put McCain on the defensive.
Biden qualifies. If it’s red meat the Democrats want, Biden will give it to them.

Obama does this long striptease on the VP pick and he comes up with Biden. It’s disappointing. I see Biden countering and making strong srguments (when he doesn’t put his foot in his mouth) but I don’t see him doing anything for Obama on the electoral map. I like Biden but he’s more like a lefty Cheney type than an energetic young change agent. And again, I can already see the Hillary folk heading for the door.

I was at the Des Moines airport and had an opportunity to meet Mr. Biden as we were both going through security. Nice guy, and very easy to talk to. As a life long Republican I admired his willingness to speak to the issues in Iraq, he was never in favor of cutting and running, though the dividing Iraq into three states was a stretch.

Don’t you people realize the facts? If McCain gets into office, he will stack the Supreme Court with conservative justices who will rule (with Bush’s appointees) for the next 30 or 40 years. He has said so himself. He wants to overturn Roe V Wade. Even if HRC gets in for 2012, which is no guarantee, it will simply be too late to stop the changes in the Supreme Court- justices are appointed for life, for those who missed civics class. This isn’t high school, this is real life and real lives. Please think about it, and put aside your anger and resentment, even if it’s justified, and think about the big picture.

If Obama has chosen Biden as his running mate, then McCain should pick Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate. That way, McCain can pick up a lot of female voters who were disappointed that Hillary didn’t get a shot this year.
Because if McCain wins, and President McCain is too old to run for re-election in 2012, then Vice President Sarah Palin will be in a good position to be America’s first female president.

Man, the attack ads on Obama featuring quotes from his own running mate are just going to be brutal:
ABC’s George Stephanopoulos: “You were asked is he ready. You said ‘I think he can be ready, but right now I don’t believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.’”
Sen. Biden: “I think that I stand by the statement.”

You are as stupid as Mc894( that was his rank out of 899). Wow; and you would
have another idiot in the white house; we already have two. If Obama loses, there will be no Hilary 2012; she will be blamed for the lost; trust me on this one.
She will not receive any black or hispanic votes and she will lose.

If McCain wins this country will continue to have little respect globally. I have travelled to many places internationall for my job ..it is true. Many folks in the European country I was in apoligized to me the day after the 2004 election. They said..we are sorry for your country…..This is why Georgia and Russia is so screwed up…Our foreign policy….Wake up…to see what is really happening.

This is gonna work out alright. Obama/Biden will be easily defeated, clearing the way for Hillary in 2012. After Obama loses this election, he won’t be elected the nominee again in 2012. Thankfully, President McCain will be too blasted old to run for a second term. Bush/McCain politics will continue until then, and the Clintons will step-in at 2012 to help the country recover from the mismanagement of Republican Americans. Every Republican voter will be responsible for the ruin of our country until 2012. It will be the Democrats in 2012 that will restore America to its former grandeur, prior to the disasterous Bush/McCain years: 2000-2011.

Biden, a great man. Is this after he stands in the mirror and repeats to himself I must get my comb over and wig piece just right for the lights. lol. To me, he’s so shallow and has such a big mouth. McCain has won. Take it to bank. Obama is not CIC material. He’s not much to not even try to be respectful to Mrs. Clinton. I can see that.

HELLO PEOPLE!
Why does everyone assume that the votes Hillary got in WV, KY, OH, PA etc…were HER “supporters”?
///////WRONG///////
They were majority anti-Obama and saw Hillary as a “lesser evil”.
Putting her on the ticket does NOTHING to help Obama get those voters. A dual minority ticket would be a tough sell. Get it through your heads people and use some sense.

ONE HOUSE, ONE SPOUSE — OBAMA/BIDEN ’08

Posted by: HOPE | August 23, 2008, 12:02 am 12:02 am

To Hillary fans that claim they’ll vote for McCain:
You do realize you are planning to cut your nose off to spite your face, right?
McCain said he would like to replace every “liberal” judge on the Supreme Court. In other words: Goodbye Roe v. Wade.
McCain is also fine with requiring insurance companies to cover Viagra, but not birth control.
McCain also recently voted for the bill that allowed “enhanced interrogation” (aka torture). So goodbye civil liberties.
McCain doesn’t want to leave Iraq until we’ve won. We’ll know we’ve won when we have won it. In other words, there is no real point that we will leave.
McCain is ready to hand over offshore drilling to the big oil contributors, oops, I mean companies knowing that it will actually do nothing but make oil executives even richer than they are now.
McCain wants to privatize Social Security. His plan for healthcare is the exact opposite of Hillary’s (and Obama’s) leaving you to fend for yourself against insurance companies determined to put profit above health.
I understand that you are not happy with the results. If you want to abstain, then that is certainly a choice. But to actively vote for McCain is truly a self destructive act that shows a bitterness of the soul and a complete lack of respect for democracy.

Posted by: Huh? | August 23, 2008, 12:03 am 12:03 am

What I’m saying is McCain is an elitist who is out of touch with the average American. He [McCain]owns 11 homes. Drives a cadillac. He wears $500 shoes while his wife Cindy McCain drives a lexus in a $3,000 suit.
No wonder he’s has an economic policy that benefits the rich.

Correction to my last post. I misidentified the disasterous Bush/McCain years as 2000-2011. I meant 2012. Technically, Hillary will take office in January, 2013.

Well, it doesn’t get any better than this! For the Republicans, that is. What happened to change in Washington? To turning the page? To the new day, America? LOL… BHO goes and picks someone almost as old as McCain, who’s been around as long as McCain, and who actually likes and respects McCain. I guess he realizes he does need an “adult” to show him the ropes, after all.

Steve L wrote: “Biden is a good choice, precisely BECAUSE of his sharp tongue.”
Biden’s sharp tongue has usually hurt himself more than his opponents. And if what you say is true–that Obama needs an attack dog–it’s just more evidence that Obama is in deep trouble. You don’t need an attack dog if you’re confident.
It’s truly amazing how poorly Obama is doing. He should be 15-20 points ahead, yet he’s sinking in the polls and the electoral map is slowly turning red. The turning point came in Berlin, of all places, when Obama overreached. If you have an impressive resume, you can make mistakes. Obama has no resume, so in the minds of millions, maybe even a majority of voters, his candidacy is met with heavy and growing skepticism. This is why Obama is not doing very well in a year that the Dems should positively own.

To ALL REAL Demarcates:
Demarcates need to get over Hillary Clinton. She did not win the nomination. I supported Hillary all the way, but I always believe Barrack Obama also was a good 2nd choice.
Obama was certainly a better choice than John McCain or anyone the Republicans could put up.
I was one of the people that said a few months back, I would never vote for Obama.
I came to my sences this election is NOT about Hillary, Barrack, Bill, John, Joe, or Mitt- It is about us. We are the American People that really need someone to fight for us.
Senator Clinton asked us to support Senator Obama-The Democratic- I will do as asked.
Just as I did-Get over it she did not win and maybe she will not be ready in 2012 either.
Hillary and Bill have their place in my heart, but they can afford to pay $4.00 for Gas, $6.00 for milk, Their Million Dollar Home in New York, and I know they will be voting for Barrack Obama in November.
Joe Bidden is not a bad pick if it is him.Even if I did not like Obama because he lacks some World experience, I can’t say that now.

Biden, on Obama’s Iraq plan in August 2007: “I don’t want [my son] going [to Iraq],” Delaware Sen. Joe Biden said from the campaign trail Wednesday, according to a report on Radio Iowa. “But I tell you what, I don’t want my grandson or my granddaughters going back in 15 years and so how we leave makes a big difference.” Biden criticized Democratic rivals such as Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama who have voted against Iraq funding bills to try to pressure President Bush to end the war. “There’s no political point worth my son’s life,” Biden said, according to Radio Iowa. “There’s no political point worth anybody’s life out there. None.”
You fool Biden’s son is going to Iraq to fight right now and he’s one of the few in Congress that has a son or daughter over there in Iraq…
Biden is a good choice and knows McOld inside and out and will compliment Obama , who doesn’t need another “yes man”…
HRC can still help out in the Senate…

I am glad that is not Hillary because her supporters were not going to support Obama anyways. I really hope that is Joe Biden, he was one of my fav candidates early on. Clinton would have been a good choice but the negativity from the whole Puma thing, I think, made it impossible for Obama to now all of a sudden choose Hillary. Now let’s the issues lead the debate… Nobody knows who’s gonna win, but I really hope that Obama and the Democrats win this November, before the Republicans destroy our country.

Another win for Obama. Picking Biden is excellent. He brings a bulldog to the fight, along with his undisputed expertise on foreign affairs and judicial and Constitutional issues.
And this text message announcement is another brilliant move. Look how everyone is talking about it. And Obama’s campaign gains access to probably a million cell phone numbers to use later for messages and get out the vote. Smart. Very, very smart.
Obama/Biden ’08. Can’t wait!

Posted by: Denise | August 23, 2008, 12:06 am 12:06 am

Of it is Biden, that’s a good choice. No choice would have been perfect. Biden’s got the foreign policy credibility and can help get across the point that Obama’s judgment has been vastly superior to neocon John. He delivers one-liners well. He’s not a yes-man type, which is how Kaine comes across to me, so that shows Obama will surround himself with smart, independent-minded people. That’s going to be a contrast with Romney if McCain chooses him. Granted, a Senator from Delaware doesn’t put any new states in play, but I think that’s a really over-rated consideration. When it’s obvious that’s the point of the pick it seems like the candidate hasn’t chosen based on who’s best for the job which reflects poorly.

McCain is worth $40.4 million. His wife net worth is $100 million. McCain owns 11 homes. Drives a cadillac. Cindy drives a lexus in a $3,000 suits.
Romney is worth $202 million. Another elitist of his own.
Obama is worth $1.3 million
Biden net worth is $100,000-150,000
Elitist. Yes indeed. Its the McCain/Romney ticket.

Biden to the Brookings Institution in 2005: “We can call it quits and withdraw from Iraq. I think that would be a gigantic mistake. Or we can set a deadline for pulling out, which I fear will only encourage our enemies to wait us out — equally a mistake.”

Why are we talking about Hillary Clinton. Get informed and read the Atlantic Magazine article that reviews Hillary’s inability to make decisions and poor strategy. For weeks from January to March she keep changing her strategy and talking points. She was not on message and it was that period of time that Obama won 9 primaries in a row. This is what changed the outcome. Also winning NC and almost betting in Indiana. I almost forgot the bad financial management is the reason for her lose. She still has debt. Which she could pay off by doing some speaking engagements. Stop allowing her to continue to never take responsibility for her own actions. She has done this for over 10 years. Remember its the right wing conspriacy. Hillary clinton takes no responsiblilty for her own mistakes. Especially given her and Bills experience. Right winger go home and stop stiring the pot as we know its you how is spreading lies…Wake up people stop the lies.

Most American are scared to death of change, otherwise we’d have voted for it long before this election! I’m a Democrat but am surprised that Obama has gotten this far. Maybe there is hope yet. No way can the man offer the VP role to someone that is on the outside like him – way too much of a change for people to accept. But a ticket with one well-spoken outsider, and one well-rounded but outspoken insider makes sense to actually WIN the election. People gravitate to personalities, and Obama and Biden have that in spades.

This ticket sounds upside down to me. That said, I might have reconsidered voting for Obama if he picked Hillary. Now I need to decide whether I’m going to write her name in, vote for Nader, or maybe even vote for McCain. I have some soulsearching to do before election day. Unfortunately, the one thing that is certain is I will not be voting for the democratic presidential candidate this year. Although, to be sure, the rest of my ballot will be straight Dem. After the racist, dishonest campaign Obama ran (against a fellow democrat, even!) he doesn’t deserve to be within shouting distance of the White House.

Some of you are suggesting picking a failure to be president? Did we send are failures to Beijing for the olympics? Do our best companies choose inexperienced unsuccessful people as CEOs. Sorry, I am all for a successful person to be president. Guess that is why I lean Republican. Democrats are ashamed of success and think if we all can’t be rich, then no one should be. Why do Obama supporters like this guy. Give me a few reasons… Do you want more taxes, more government control, more of being told what you can and cannot do? Obama is your guy then. Sorry, that is not me

as a very dedicated hillary supporter i’m willing to reserve my judgement on biden until i know more about him.
the only thing i know about him is that he has been a politician for longer than mccain and that he is old.
it will be humorous to watch obama supporters who have been so critical of mccains age, attempt to defend biden who is also an old insider.

Obama didn’t pick Hillary for 2 reasons:
1.)She threw a month-long tantrum when she lost, dividing the party in a way that Karl Rove would be proud of.
2.)If he picks her, he mobilizes the GOP base for them, taking care of ALL that McCain had to worry about.
People that think Hillary should be, or even WANTS to be number 2 are seriously delusional…either that, or you’re truly as dumb as the average American voter. . .

Posted by: Ctilghman | August 23, 2008, 12:23 am 12:23 am

I personally like Biden but it is unfortunate if Obama doesn’t choose Hillary because it is dissing the second place choice of the Dems. Plus, he blows the opportunity to make history with a multicultural Pres (why does everyone keep saying “black candidate”; he is MULTICULTURAL!!!) and a woman and the two most popular Dems. That would be a sign of overcoming pride, having great judgement and being a true agent of change and reconciliation. If he doesn’t choose her, he blows it! I just pray the idiots in this country wisen up and don’t vote McCain his 3rd Bush term. It baffles me how stupid the people in this country are, I swear! So freakin’ susceptible to the most feeble ploys of game playing politicians. Idiots screw over themselves, like with their 2 term Bush idiot! Okay I will stop my rant now!

And as for the Hillary lovers – get over yourselves, she lost. Nice lady, great race, but she lost. And now, to spite yourselves, you’re going to vote for the other side? You need a big pacifier, pampers and a good burping. Here’s a thought for you, how about a Cabinet post as Secretary of Health Education and Welfare, where she really shines, and can REALLY make a difference? Have a little faith, and if not, we don’t need you, vote for the other side,

Obviously a lot of you didn’t pay attention to the early part of the primaries this year and last year. Biden, by all means, deserved to be in the top three contenders for the nomination. He was always witty and articulate in the debates, and hardly acts his age at all.
He’s the anti-McCain.

What does money have to do with anything? All the spoiled politicians in DC are rich and out of touch – That is part of the problem. You dems have some of the richest, most out of touch – Pelosi, Gore, the Clinton’s, Kerry… and you knock McCain for being rich. Please, they are all spoiled brats. We need to create a pool of money that candidates can draw from and when it is gone, it is GONE. No fundraising, no special interests. This is the solution. Think about it… you need to raise hundreds of millions to get a job that pays $500k?! What is wrong with that picture. Only the presidency the past 50 years has been a life long career-builder. Used to serve a term and go back home to what they did before they served. This is the way it should be. Until these changes are made, we will continue our deep decline into socialism.

Posted by: horseman | August 23, 2008, 12:29 am 12:29 am

well, I never really thought it would be Biden, but that’s because I actually really *like* him. I mean, I would’ve voted for him over any of the Dem candidates we’ve had in my lifetime (and yeah, that even includes Clinton/Gore, for whom I cast my first happy, innocent votes). So while I may lose my VP bet, I’ll count it a win if Biden really does turn out to be the pick. wow. Maybe this Obama guy is gonna work out after all… ^~^

Posted by: thisniss | August 23, 2008, 12:29 am 12:29 am

It boggles me to see anti-Biden here in these responses. This man was the youngest elect in Senate, has the longest record of experience, understands and is passionate about the current flaws in this administration’s actions and policies, and gives me, for the first time in my life, a little faith in my country, that the intentions of large corporations aren’t the only considerations when it comes to law making, that the health of the all societies in the world equals the health of our own. The Obama/Biden ticket is one of integrity compared to our current President and VP. A senator who has been in office since 1972 offers a serious look into what the history of a situation is, where the real dangers and delicacies are, what must be taken into consideration in order to achieve a balance again, for all of the countries in the middle east. If this can’t be achieved, with our leaders at the forefront, we are looking at the situations that could trigger the next great war of history. I don’t know about you people, but I don’t want that to be the great legacy of my lifetime. What happens now decides so much, and McCain lacks the integrity to lead us in a safe world. He can only lead in a world where war is every frontier. Is that the world you want your children to inherit? Is that the world you want to retire in? More scars or steps towards healing, that’s what this vote is about.

Posted by: gina | August 23, 2008, 12:30 am 12:30 am

Well, what it is –Obama disrespected Hillary even Susan Estrich said that. He said she was a treasure for any ticket. He was too afraid of her. She got 18 million votes and he picked Biden. This helps McCain. McCain has won. That Wright guy mocked Mrs. Clinton while the media laughed along. I don’t like Mrs. Clinton’s ideas but she was treated badly by her own party that she has been so faithful to. The dems in power only care about winning. They don’t care about joe jane american. Mrs. Clinton would have been a force to deal with. Glad it’s done but still think they did her dirty.

Posted by: Justin | August 23, 2008, 12:31 am 12:31 am

You can quote Biden’s statements all you like and you will note that while not always “politically correct”, they are correct and to the point and, usually, what a lot of ordinary people are thinking. He has a lifetime of significant life experiences; a long career of working in the Senate and on the Foreign Relations Committee; he is responsible for negotiating in Bosnia to end genocide; he is articulate, has the kind of smarts that does not test well or do well in school but soars in real life experiences. I think he is cute, handsome! He is an ordinary fellow, very pragmatic. Was it Biden who said “everytime Guiliani speaks he uses a noun, a verb, and a 9/11?” I am a strong Hillary supporter and have been waiting to see the VP choice….I can support this choice wholeheartedly. A President and a VP are to govern and lead; they are not directly responsible for steering the economy, etc; they need to be smart enough to pick competent, knowledgeable people, expect accountability, give direction. Biden will be a great President of the Senate which is what the VP does, I think. I had thought he would be a great Secretary of State. There are many ways Hillary’s talents and skills can be used and I will always be her supporter. I am proud of all she has done on behalf of children, especially, but, also with the Family Leave Act, and Legislation on behalf of Child Abuse and Neglect and Adoption while serving with the Childrens Defense Fund. She is smart, capable, informs herself. It was not meant to be and I have grieved. I know there is something more for her; she is in no way finished!

You are all sheep. It doesn’t matter who Osama chooses as his VP, he will not win. Obama has 147 days of actual work experience (days the Senate was in session during his Senate run). He cries for change and the masses begin to cry out in support of him. The liberal media attach themselves to anything new and fresh. But lets not kid ourselves… College kids, hippies & Europeans do not vote in Presidential elections…Middle America, the elderly & our military members do. Now we have to wait four more years to have any chance of winning the White House.

All of you Hillary supporters need to get a life! She lost the campaign fair and square, and you claim to be Democrats, it seems to me that you all are spoiled brats, because your candidate didn’t win, now you want to whine and complain and say that she was treated unfairly. If the tables were turned, and the shoe was on the other foot, you all would be saying that Barack and his supporters weren’t being fair and couldn’t except reality.
As far as I’m concerned Barack has appeased her more than he should have by giving a speaking roll, not to mention putting her name in nomination. He had just as many if not more votes than she did during the primaries, if he had demanded his name be put in nomination, she and her supporters would be crying “FOUL”.
My point is that Hillary supporters say that they won’t vote for Barack, are wishing for him to lose, so that Hillary can run again in 2012. Let me tell you something, if Barack Obama loses in November because of you , I will guarantee that she will lose just about all of the African American vote. Now she can’t win without it, just like her husband couldn’t have won without it. JUST THINK ABOUT THAT , I KNOW BECAUSE I AM ONE OF THEM, AND THERE ARE MILLIONS WHO THINK JUST LIKE ME. JUST TRY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Republicans are praying for Biden. Bring the retread on….so much for “Change coming to America!”. How much time before Time Magazine replaces another Obama celebrity cover story with tales of Biden’s history of plagiarism and lies about his acedemic credentials. Biden is a horrible choice. The Dems only chance was Hillary, but Obama is so green he can’t even figure that out. On the upside, maybe Biden can actually speak without a teleprompter and not look like a stammering boob? Wag the dog Obama, you’ve done nothing and are just a media darling creation. Hey Dems..Is San Fran Nan and Harry the Hack back to work yet?

“All of you Hillary supporters need to get a life! She lost the campaign fair and square, and you claim to be Democrats, it seems to me that you all are spoiled brats, because your candidate didn’t win, now you want to whine and complain and say that she was treated unfairly. If the tables were turned, and the shoe was on the other foot, you all would be saying that Barack and his supporters weren’t being fair and couldn’t except reality.”

To all those claiming that I (or anyone else) is a republican plant because I will now vote for McCain, sorry. You are wrong. There are many of us and we are real. I would have voted for Hill. Obama’s way too Socialist for me. His first three “priorities” are Reversing the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, reversing the Defense of Marriage Act, and pulling the troops out win or lose. I can tell you, while I may or may not support those positions, in NO WAY are these my PRIORITIES! Hillary was just left of center, which is in line with me. I really liked her ideas and priorities. McCain is just right of center. While I agree with him on some things and disagree on others, his beliefs are closer to mine than Obama. Plus, I think Obama treated Hillary very poorly and hasn’t given her supporters due respect. So I have no problem crossing the aisle on my vote. I don’t believe in blind Party Loyalty. The Democrats abandoned Lieberman in his state election (remember???), and McCain was one of the few high-profile politicians who stood by him. I’m hoping he’ll be VP, but will understand if he isn’t. Regardless, after reading the US News and World Report story that McCain personally penned when he returned from Vietnam all those years ago, I knew if it wasn’t going to be my girl Hill, that McCain wouldn’t be a bad choice.

I am a lifelong Democratic voter along with my entire family. However, the last four years has seen my party go so far left that I cannot vote for any of these people.
This has become the party of Obama, Pelosi and Harry Reid…neither whom I respect or agree with. They are all kooks.

First off…..for all of the poll watchers, Reuters/Zogby polls likely voters. The people polled are folks with LAN lines and they are not necessarily REGISTERED voters. Can you name at least 10 people with LAN lines that have been surveyed by the pollsters? They usually poll approx 2-3000 people. That’s a small city in my view. Don’t be fooled by the media. And for the HRC supporters…. She lost!! Sure she made history but so did Obama!! Any female HRC supporter who decides to vote for McCain be prepared to give up your rights.

Those of you who are bashing Hillary supporters for not jumping on board are missing the point. It is not like any of us are eager for McCain to get the White House. We are eager for unity. When we have a neck in neck race for the Democratic ticket, it would make sense for Obama to listen to 48% of registered Democratic voters. That is what would drive unity. He is throwing 18 million Democrats opinions to the wind and tossing this race. If I cannot vote with confidence, I won’t vote. Thank God I held out giving to his campaign to see who he chose for VP.

Why in the world would Obama accommodate Hillary after she spent months bashing him and stopping at nothing to tear him down? She used the most shameful Rovian tactics against him and was rightly rejected by the voters.
The Democratic Party needs to permanently get over the Clintons. They are people who seek only personal ambition, wealth and power. Their deceit and phoniness knows no end. There are far better people of character to put your trust in.

Think about what you are saying, think about the values you have that led you to believe in Hillary in the first place. Will you forego your intelligence to turn from what you KNOW is the right party, because she didn’t make it on the ticket?
Where have you been? Do you honestly think she would have been the right choice, while Bill Clinton STILL has not endorsed his party’s nomination? Hillary didn’t lose, Obama didn’t lose it for her, our hero, Bill, lost it for her, plain and simple.

I would have to say to all Hillary supporters as I was – if you truly worked for her, wanted her, believed she was the choice … then you in no way could think McCain is the better of the 2 candidates on the ballot. I have read her and her husbands books, I campaigned and met them both when they came to my state. Their stance is the same as Obama’s and my bank account, my children’s future can not take 4 more years of a man riding around on the golf course, bumbling through foreign relations, and living the rich life at the expense of our economy. I want our troops to come home, I want our Exports to exceed our imports, and I want the money we are spending in Iraq to go to fix our border issues. McCain wants to keep troops overseas, he hints at the possibility of a draft being needed, he pushes more assistance with Mexico and a friendly lift of the fence for illegal immigrants. Who are you trying to punish with your vote? McCain’s values equal adultery, Miss Buffalo Chip, and viagra. His education was pitiful and he is not a business man – his wife’s family made him who he is. Senators Biden and Obama both have strong educations on their resume, strong family values, and have both devoted part of their careers to helping communities. If you are voting for McCain, why not write in Miss Buffalo Chip 2008 herself.

I thought perhaps he picked her and hence the big drumroll (she’s earned it, and it would be a big story). I even thought, “Heck, if it ain’t my girl Hill, it must be someone really really outstandingly shocking. Like maybe he was gonna pull Al Gore out of the Hat! Or someone deserving of that kind of major publicity. Instead it’s Blah Blah Biden, the ultimate Washington insider and stooge. Whahh? Hillary Clinton lost because she and her staff ran a bad campaign. One of the tests the primary season demonstrates is how well each of the prospective candidates do in organizing their campaign and making it grow. The Clinton campaign ignored the imporance of the caucuses and were playing catch up the rest of the way until they had to admit defeat. Obama ran a campaign that was well organized and left no stone unturned. He deserved to win. Obama’s probable choice of Joe Biden as his running mate his also a demonstration of his good instincts. Biden is experienced, well respected by both republicans and democrats, and will have no problem running circles around any running mate McCain chooses.

The media made Obama the shiny new object and flavor of the day and treated Hillary like ####. That SNL skit was right on about how the media treats NObama. They fall all over themselves when it comes to him. They reported that he bought snacks the other day…SERIOUSLY, buying snacks is newsworthy. The Repubs are using this to their advantage, showing what an empty suit he is…and IT IS WORKING. I can understand the desire for Hillary or someone associated with her to have been the VP, as it would have been a somewhat smart move from Obama.
However, I can’t quite see how her failure to make the ticket means it’s good to vote for McCain. Is it really worth another 8 years of “the same” just to get revenge against Obama? I don’t think so.
Hillary will be back. She’s really passionate about this and won’t let her loss keep her down. Obama didn’t destroy her political career altogether, so I don’t think it’s worth punishing him.

Joe Biden’s history of plagiarism and “stressless scholarship” gave plenty of ammo to his enemies, one of them choosing to circulate a so-called “attack video” to demonstrate Biden’s outright plagiarism of a British politician’s speech. But this appropriation from Neal Kinnock was not the first occurrence of unacknowledged lifting by the senator from Delaware.
In 1965 Biden plagiarized while writing a paper as a student at the Syracuse University Law School in a legal methods course which he failed because of that copied paper. Such “stressless scholarship” as it is euphemistically called has become all too common in the modern Internet era with countless cheatsites and “research services” offering to sell students papers on topics from A to Z.
Biden’s case demonstrates that student plagiarism is nothing new. Only the methods of cheating have changed. Today, cheating has gone digital with the proliferation of Internet based paper filing and distributions systems, but the principles—or lack thereof—are the same. And as the Biden case illustrates, getting caught for such academic dishonesty may have serious ramifications for one’s political career. Joe Biden’s failed bid for the Democratic ticket is a case in point.
“Stressless scholarship” may seem like a pretty good idea at the time that many students make that decision to ‘crib’, copy, or dowload a paper off the Internet, but in Biden’s case the plagiarism of his student days came back to haunt his bid for the democratic presidential nomination like a spectre from his past.
In an article entitled “Biden’s Belly Flop”, Newsweek printed Joe Biden’s yearbook picture from his college days and a copy of his law school transcripts with the big “F” in his transcripts circled. Biden was given a chance to repeat his legal methods course, and above the “F” his retake grade of 80% was eventually penciled in. Being a repeat offender when it came to plagiarism made things much, much worse for Biden than they might have been otherwise in his failed bid for the Democratic presidential ticket in 1987.
Senator Biden’s plagiarism of a speech by British Labor Party leader Neal Kinnock took place at a campaign stump at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. In closing his speech, Biden took Kinnock’s ideas and language as if they were his very own inspired thoughts, prefacing Kinnock’s ideas with the phrase “I started thinking as I was coming over here . . . “. Little did Biden suspect that video footage of this speech would be spliced together with footage of Kinnock’s speech in an “attack video” which would be distributed by members of the Dukakis campaign.
Making the headline news in the New York Times, and the evening news on TV, the video was a stab in the back for Biden by his democratic competitor, and although he insisted that “I’m in this race to stay. I’m in this race to win,” the resulting publicity surrounding his unacknowledged use of Neal Kinnock’s speech was what eventually forced him out of the race. Name recognition was no longer a problem for Biden, but not the kind of name recognition which would assist his campaign for the democratic presidential nomination. His name was now a byword for plagiarism. His situation became a classic example of plagiarism for high school teachers and college instructors across the nation lecturing on the evils of unacknowledged source use.
Biden initially denied any wrongdoing, claiming that this was just an inadvertent lack of acknowledgement. Yet there were other instances of rhetorical borrowing from speeches made by Robert F. Kennedy and Hubert Humphrey. And the fact that Biden had given other speeches using the Kinnock passages without acknowledgment suggested that the lifting was more than just an inadvertent oversight.
As with Al Gore’s case, the perception existed in the public mind that Biden just wasn’t the real thing. He wasn’t authentic, didn’t have thoughts and ideas of his own, and was a malleable piece of clay being molded by his handlers to suit the political whims and fancies which they thought would appeal to voters. A Time magazine article by Walter Shapairo was pretty much on the money in offering the speculation that “In the end, Biden may be remembered as the candidate who truly offered the voters an echo and not a choice.”
William Safire, former speechwriter for Richard Nixon, gloated in the New York Times over Biden’s demise, quoting a supposedly “embittered Democrat” who said, “I’m going back to Gary Hart . . . At least he didn’t steal that girl from some far-lefty in England.” And he concluded his op-ed column with a swipe at Biden’s ability to think apart from his speechwriter: “So my advice to candidates like Joe Biden is this: Do justly, love perorations and walk humbly with thy speechwriter. (I forget where I got that, but it has a nice ring to it.) ”
With all the press he was receiving over his Neal Kinnock plagiarism courtesy of the Dukakis “attack videos”, Biden was quickly becoming the “most famous political plagiarist of our time”, as Thomas Mallon describes the unfortunate Delaware senator. It was just a matter of time before Biden would have to bow out of the democratic primary.
Biden himself thought that all the attention to his rhetorical borrowing was “frankly ludicrous”, and the media analysts generally agreed, stating that is was “hardly a capital offense”, but as William Safire put it, “times have changed; you can’t get away with borrowing anything these days – not even an oratorical technique, much less a phrase or paragraph – unless you are willing to give the attribution.” If Gore’s loss of the presidency to George W. Bush in 2000 was more indirectly related to plagiarism, it is evident that Biden’s case is without question a direct result of his unacknowledged use of Kinnock’s speech as if it were his very own. This instance of plagiarism and the public exposure it received cut short the presidential aspirations of an otherwise gifted orator and statesman.

Biden said Obama was not qualified to be POTUS after Obama announced his run, and during the debates Biden said “I stand by that assessment”.
Looks like everyone else turned down Obama’s invite to the dance and he got stuck with the dopey date.

All best wishes for Obama and Biden if this scoop is indeed true. A nation sledding into the muck, our young people overseas, our economy and our future deserve the good that the Obama Biden ticket can do. Enough of the gang that brought you the disasterous Katrina non-response, the disasterous entry into war with Iraq, the nonsense of a war on a word and the senselessness of a man who, in his wealth does not know how many homes he owns while all over the country, people are losing their homes. This crew should not be in the White House. This gang should not have the Executive Branch. Our future will be better with Obama Biden.

As a woman and a Democrat who struggled between supporting Hillary and Barack (and ultimately chose Obama), I am ashamed of some of the posts on this board, particularly by women who claim to be Democrats, but are willing to throw this country down an even bigger hole than it is already in just to make the Republicans happy. Guess what? Voting for McCain may feel good for about a second after you mark your ballot but who are you really hurting? After you cast that vote and the euphoria of sticking it to Obama wears off, you’ll be bemoaning the fact that we now have a draft, Roe v. Wade was overturned, we’re in a war with Iraq AND Russia, and even though we’re drilling in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge, gas is still $8/gallon.
Ever hear of the phrase, cutting off your nose to spite your face? Stop acting like five year olds – if Clinton gets on board, as all Dems should, then she will be doing herself a favor by putting herself in a good position to run again in 2012, 2016 and/or 2020.
But if you still vote McCain and he wins, please, keep whining because it will make SUCH a difference (not!)

I realize that there’s no point in having a civil conversation here…but dammit, I’m going to try.
What is with people claiming Biden is racist, for attempting to COMPLIMENT a guy who happens to be black? Oh, he said he was “articulate” and “clean”.
If he had said those things about Hilary or Edwards, would anybody have cared?
How many white people here…who haven’t a racist bone in their body…have ever stumbled over whether to say “black”, “African American”, or something else? Yes, it’s an awkward part of our history, and we don’t want to be tied to it…but, really, we’re not allowed to say articulate anymore?
You know what? I like Obama. I really do. And one of the first things I noticed about him was that he was…wait for it…articulate and clean.
If that’s racist, then give me my damned white cloak already, because I give up.

No matter what anyone says here, it is all based on emotions. Vote for whomever you want but use your head and don’t cast a useless vote. Get over all our hang ups and let’s move forward. Enough is enough. Hillary supporters should remember that if she ever wants to run again she will need all the milllions of Obama supporters. She can’t win without them and if she doesn’t get 100% behind Obama she is just killing any chance she has for the future.

I have one thing to say to all of you Democrats who are bitching because of the likelihood of Biden as a running mate for Obama. Quit acting stupid and recognize that to win this election you guys have got to grow up and understand that you can’t get everything you want on one silver platter all at once.
Biden brings a lot to the table that Obama desparately needs to get the undecideds off the fence–heavy foreign policy experience, bipartisan respect, and “elder statesman” status (to combat that stupid “inexperience” argument from the McCain campaign).
Now get over it and let’s punish the G.O.P. good and proper for ruining this country for the past eight years. It’s time to unite and rumble!

Reports reflect that Obama’s mother traveled to Kenya during her pregnancy; however, she was prevented from boarding a flight from Kenya to Hawaii at her late stage of pregnancy (which, apparently, was a normal restriction, to avoid births during a flight). By these reports, Stanley Ann Dunham Obama gave birth to Obama in Kenya, after which she flew home and registered Obama’s birth.”

Keith, I used to think like you but have decided that it’s worth the fight, both to save our Democracy and our way of life and to save our unborn children. That’s why I cannot, in good conscience vote for a man who would make it illegal for a physician/healer to medically assist a helpless newborn in a botched abortion. My reply to your apparent hostility and bitterness would be to keep you in my prayers and repeat what I have already said before: Jesus was the first women’s liberator. He gave us a choice to honor our own bodies, keep them pure and love of our unborn children. Vote John McCain and save our rights to choose life.

1. Senator Clinton’s negatives were 48% before the primaries even started. This is probably due to a decade of Republican sliming, but it’s still not what one wants in a VP candidate. 2. Unless Obama was going to pick her, it would have been wrong of him to ask her (and Bill) to disclose to him info that they (the Clintons) weren’t willing to disclose in the primaries. There was no insult in not “vetting” her. 3. Sen Clinton may prefer to become a dominant force in the Senate (a la Teddy Kennedy), but if not, she could end up in the cabinet. 4. Politicians who can’t influence (“deliver”) their supporters are considered weak by other politicians.

This is SOOOOO left, they guy with the experience and ability to lead is the first to bail out durring the primaries because the guy with the least amount of experience wins the nomination ( while the most qualified of all Rep and Dem is left with crap)only to later be selected as the VP!! This is atrocious!! “Hi Mr Smith, my name is doctor Obama I will be performing my first open heart surgery on you today. Answer the question… what would you have Senator Obama do about his half-brother, who by all accounts (including his own) is perfectly happy with the life he leads?
And why won’t John McCain acknowledge his half-sister-in-law? You’d think a ProLife paragon of virtue like John McCain would have stepped in years ago and urged his wife to acknowledge her own flesh and blood living in the same town…
You can’t have it both ways… family is family…
Hey, I know… maybe the McCains can adopt Obama’s half-brother and let him live in one of their 11 houses!!! How’s that sound?

Question, wingnuts… what would you have Obama do about his half brother?
Gee I donno…. But after Ibama quoted Matthew in the New Testament “What you do for the least of my brothers you do for me”, you’d think that Obama would be a little more charitible, especially to a blood relative.
Ibama’s brother, George Hussein Obama, lives in a one room hut, and gets by on $1.00 per month.
When Ibama visited his ancestral village in Kenya, he promised funds to support the school and orphanage.
The total Ibama donated to date: ZERO
Just like Ibama -

I’ve been reading some of the comments on this board and I am confused. People say this is not a race affected presidency. But I think it is. Why? Well if you read some of the comments throughly you will find people saying “i am black and voting for Obama.” Is this not a racist statement? What if someone said “I am white and voting for McCain.”? What would happen? Who cares what color you are. I don’t. But it seems to me that when you put comments out there like those you lead people to believe that you are a racist and will only vote because the canidate is your race. If this nation wants to rid us of the race card and racist ideas and thoughts than US ALL OF US need to stop with the comments. If not it’s not fair to get pissed if the other side says we’re white or whatever race you and I am voting for one of my own. So sad. We are in the year 2008 and most of us want to change our way of thinking but certain groups have not. Please people pick your canidate for the right reasons and not because he is your color.

GMH, Cindy McCain has released her tax returns.
But good to see the hope and change is officially dead. Good luck painting McCain as a washington insider when you’ve got Biden who’s been in washington longer then I’ve been born. Not to mention like Obama he was completely wrong on iraq (saying Bush was postponing losing with the surge that turned out so succesful) and Biden himself highlighted the fact obama skipped meetings on afghanistan.
Also that bipartisanship claim by Obama is also officially dead. I mean it should have been already as Barry never once risked anything in the name of bipartisanship (if he risked so much on campaign finance reform why did so many dems vote yea?). But Biden has never reached across the aisle on any issue of risk either.

Now McCain should put Condoleezza Rice on his ticket and he’ll pick up the disgruntled females who supported Hillary and even a few African Americans. I don’t think Obama had much choice, if he had picked Hillary it would have been seen as an act of desperation especially since he’s plummeting in the polls. And can you imagine what the cabinet meetings would have been like. Hillary would have to constantly explain how things work in the real world, since he’s only been operating at the national level for three years and one year of that time has been spent running for the Presidency.
As a 53 year old lifelong Democrat I would have gladly voted for Hillary, but I cannot in all conscience replace a Republican Village Idiot with a Democratic version of the same, John McCain you have my vote!

Votergal, you must learn the 21st century. it is not racist for a black person to say they’re voting for Obama because he’s black. Its only racist for a white person to vote for a white candidate regardless of their reasoning, didn’t the democratic primaries teach you anything? When Hillary got 85% of the white vote, it was due to racism. When Obama got 95% of the black vote, well that was all about issues.

Posted by: Zaggs | August 23, 2008, 1:54 am 1:54 am

A vote for Obama is a vote for another billion dollars disappearing from our increased loan portfolio to fix up a country we did not damage. What ever happened to examination and discussion? The tip of Obamas iceberg of irresponsibility to Americans. How much has he promised to other world leaders on his trip?

Posted by: Gary | August 23, 2008, 1:56 am 1:56 am

Some of the comments on this are really making me have even less faith in the American voter. Someone said that just because he didn’t pick Hillary means that 18 million women are going to vote for McCain instead?! That’s complete lunacy. You don’t vote for someone who has the complete opposite views as the person you endorse just because the person you’d rather have running isn’t available. You chose a president based on your convictions and beliefs and vote for who you believe will live up to them. If you are a Hillary supporter and are switching parties because Barack Obama is not a woman means that you have no convictions in the first place. The number of people in this country that are willing to throw their convictions and beliefs away for the smallest of reasons just astounds me.

MY CRYSTAL BALL: Clearly, Obama/Biden will lose in 2008, giving Hillary a clear shot in 2012. Obama won’t be the nominee in 2012 after losing his run later this year, and President McCain will be too old to run for a second term. (Thank God!) McCain is already suffering signs of dementia in not knowing how many houses he owns. President McCain’s/Bush’s disasterous world politics will continue until 2012, when Hillary will emerge again to return America to its granduer and restore peace and order in the world.

For those of you upset that it’s not Hillary, I understand your disappointment.
But I don’t think Obama could ever have taken Hillary as VP. Not because of Bill or because of how the Repubs could attack her, but because the danger to Obama’s personal safety would have been too great.
Would someone really be tempted to take out Obama so that Biden could then become President?

As a (white 30 male) Hillary supporter, yes, it is asking too much to ask for civility, or to ask us to just “fall in line” behind Barack. Maybe it wouldn’t have been too much to ask if we had counted FLA and MI *when they voted* … maybe not if Hillary, WHO GOT MORE POPULAR VOTES THAN OBAMA, had even been on the VP shortlist… maybe not if Obama had honored his pledge to pay down Hillary’s debt. He has done nothing to acknowledge the pssion and commitment of Hillary’s 18 million supporters, and now he wants us to just vote for him?? Sorry, but Biden is the final slap in the face. McCain ’08! Too funny. Voters think McCain looks old? Biden looks just as old. Obama still has his cult following of voters so he will still win whether anyone likes it or not, maybe not by a landslide but he will still win.

Biden point person on Iran and pakistan? This is the guy who said to focus on positions rather then people, now we got a pakistani parliament more then happy to let the Taliban roam free on the afghanistan border. Brilliant plan there Joe. Not to mention he was against labeling the revolutionary guards as a terrorist group, something supposedly Obama was for but didn’t vote on.
In fact Biden has had no ideas on either country. Instead of admitting he’s clueless all he’s done is rail against Bush and can’t get that right.
Biden’s only recent good claim on foreign policy is Russia-Georgia, where he mimicked not Obama, but McCain.

“Cindy McCain Mother Teresa Story Fabricated.” Posted by: David | Aug 23, 2008 1:51:53 AM
The CSM story you reference confirms that Cindy McCain adopted a girl from Mother Teresa’s orphanage.
The discrepancy over whether and when the McCain’s actually met with Mother Teresa seems pretty petty.
The McCain’s are doing their part for charity, donating 25% of their income. That is pretty impressive.

Posted by: Johnny | August 23, 2008, 2:05 am 2:05 am

I love it! All the Dems have been putting down McCain’s academic record. Well here’s Biden’s.
1. Received F for plagerizing paper at Syracuse Law.
2. Grades were C’s and D’s (He got an A in phys Ed)
3. F in ROTC
4. He lied and said he graduated at the top of his class when he was 76 out of 85.
5. He lied and said he attended on a full scholarship, didn’t get one.
6. He lied and said he received 3 under grad degrees, he only got 1.
Let’s not forget the plagerized BIOGRAPHY speech about his father being a coal miner, in his run for pres in 1988.

Again, Clinton supporters are unwilling to “fall in line” behind Obama because they feel slighted over the way she was treated during the primary, so they’re going to fall in line with McCain who’s spent his entire political life slighting Hillary Clinton and everything she stands for…
Great idea…enjoy your noseless faces…

Posted by: Keith | August 23, 2008, 2:08 am 2:08 am

I really don’t under why people are mad Mrs. Clinton isn’t getting the VP pick. Both Obama and Clinton have identical voting records. I think person most responsible for her not getting the position is Mr Clinton. Think about who in there right mind would want former President and his wife second guessing him all the time. BIDEN is the best possible choice this year for VP.

Keith, actually if you check out the PUMA movement its more about the fact McCain is a better leader in their opinion then obama. its not about Hillary losing, its about the democratic party scheming (follow Pelosi’s money) against their best candidate just so they could give it to Obama.

Posted by: Zaggs | August 23, 2008, 2:10 am 2:10 am

I look at these comments, and it really upsets me, that half of them are a fairly pathetic, almost worthless brew of comments, with hints of racism everywhere. His VP pick may not have been the most popular choice, but may be the best, hell this blog might not even be true. Also to everyone playing McCain as a great hero for being in war, take a look at the hundreds of thousands of other often greater “heros” that get no attention or help from our society, do something about them, then maybe i will listen to McCains amazing storys.

Posted by: jt | August 23, 2008, 2:13 am 2:13 am

There is no way in hell that this appointment will fly with us Hillary supporters. After Hillary received MORE POPULAR VOTES than Obama, HOW DARE HE not even consider her for VP? Instead, he picks an old grandpa that is a plagiarist, does not represent “change” (with over 35 years in the Senate), and is not committed to the Clinton mission that is the Democratic party’s essence. Screw this. I am going to vote for McCain, so Hillary can run in 2012. I hope Barack and Joe have fun on their magical mystery tour.

Biden also is quoted as saying that Obama is not ready to be Prez, and furthermore, was also accused of plagiarism in the past, as well as calling Obama “articulate”. Really stupid and nonsensical choice. But, as I dislike Biden already, a perfect sucker to go down the tubes with Obama when his campaign quickly sinks like the Titanic.

He only bothered to show up to the Senate for 143 days during his three years under the employ of Illinois. Prior to that, he voted on traffic appropriations in the State of Illinois, while Hillary has run a large portion of a major Arkansas law firm, has stewarded major initiatives at the state and national level, and worked FULL-TIME in her job as senator from NY. Similarly, McCain has an experience-rich resume…something we need in a crisis-filled world like ours. Obama thinks that pretty words and a pretty face qualify him for the presidency. If we can’t have Hillary–by far the most credible executive this year in the race–then McCain seems to be the second best choice.

Why did the McCains lie about Cindy McCain meeting Mother Theresa and why did they change their website within hours after the truth emerged that Cindy McCain never met her?
Remember, nobody’s questioning whether or not they adopted a child… the question is about Cindy’s embellishment of the story which has been proven false…

I will remain forever equally disgusted with some of the Obama supporters who trashed the Clintons with such venomous disrespect. Aside from all of that I am happy to say as a staunch supporter of Hillary Clinton, always, with Obama’s choice of Joe Biden I will get fully on board with the Obama campaign and do everything I can to help him win.
I strongly urge all of my fellow Hillary supporters to please put aside your anger and do the same, McCain will destroy what is left of America. Just take a break from the infighting and listen to what Obama has to say. It’s pretty good stuff and very much in line with what Hillary believes in and would have done as President herself. We need this more than some of you may think. America is falling. Obama is the only hope there is and with Biden’s help things will get a whole lot more hopeful.

Hillary08–get your head out of the sand. Obama merely patronized us — so we would “get on board” — when he lied and said that “Hillary would be on anyone’s short list.” She was never even vetted. All he wants is our votes, and he thinks he is entitled to them. He’s not actually concerned about the many people who supported Hillary — just saying and doing whatever he thinks is required to win those people over, even if it’s vaporware.

Keith, since you avoid the question. Find a source QUOTING Cindy McCain saying it was mother teresa that asked her to take the babies. notice the McCain website did not quote her. Neither did she mention mother teresa in the 2 articles I posted.
In all likely hood whom ever wrote that part of the website got it wrong and thats why they changed it so fast without putting up a fight.

Beautiful whoppers from Obama:
· Last May, he claimed that Kansas tornadoes killed a whopping 10,000 people: “In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” The actual death toll: 12.
· Earlier this month in Oregon, he redrew the map of the United States: “Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.”
· Last March, on the anniversary of the Bloody Sunday march in Selma, Alabama, he claimed his parents united as a direct result of the civil rights movement: “There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.” Obama was born in 1961. The Selma march took place in 1965.

First of all, I never claimed that there was a direct quote of her saying she had met Mother Theresa there, although according to the Monitor, it is a claim she has made or insinuated more than once…
Second of all, thanks for proving that the McCain website was hastily changed as soon as the Monitor story emerged…

AS much as you want to spin, exaggerate, fabricate, distort, import, twist change the facts:
McCain has never by even the opposition been called a LIAR, proven to be a liar, etc.
anyone with a normal brain can assume that they do have to defer to their staff and employees:
The McCAin lives are complex, demanding, often times he being a Senator, she running her businesses, foundations, trusts and possibly because their priorities are their vast charitable giving and foundations and trusts many which are managed by their employees it is reasonable to assume that they may not have trite information which changes daily to speak on without verifying it: etc.
HOWEVER the illiterate are so consumed with irrelevant trite soundbites looking for that “SCANDAL” thinking that the McCains going back to the Keating 5 and Cindy’s medical challenges will kill the deal for voters:
Everyone over the age of 28 has heard it all about the McCains for 10 years or more:
OPPOSITION reseach against the McCains has been perpetual since he has become a Senator:

Roxanne: Hillary lost because the media was stacked against her, because the narrative very early on became “Florida and Michigan don’t count” (though suddenly, they did once Obama had a lead in delegates). Most important, and most sadly, she lost because it became “cool” to be for Obama — after all, who doesn’t want to believe that “we are the change that will change the world”? But when you ask people what this “change” actually entails, they don’t know.
Sadly, people opted for a cool brand over seasoned executive leadership style. Hopefully, they won’t make the same mistake in November.

Keith, once again I exposed you as a liar. Cindy McCain never made that claim. The “retelling” your article refers to also does not say Cindy retold the story. It says it was retold by media, not by Cindy (you did read your article right?).
Why did they not change it before, probably because neither Cindy nor John nor anyone close to them reads their bios online.
As I noted Obama had that Iraq was involved in a civil war on his website long after any sane person could come close to making that claim. Why was it not changed to match the facts (the change came only last month)?
Perhaps campaigns don’t pay attention to their websites, or are you now going to rail against obama for what you should term (going by your own standards) as lying?

Keith, Hillary can unseat either Joe Lieberman or Mitt Romney in 2012. Probably with 350+ electoral votes. If McCain resigns, she will have any of McCain’s potential veeps on a silver platter. So it will only be a four year thing. But both of those people have more executive leadership experience than Obama.
McCain ’08! Clinton ’12!

“Hacienda, What happens when McCain resigns for “health reasons”"
“McCains MOTHER is going strong at ’92. I see no reason why McCain will have failing health.
McCain survived 5 plus years of torture as a POW. He can manage 4 years as POTUS.
Ibama on the other hand cries to the Mayo Clinic because he has a boo boo on his hip.
Ibama is the fragile one. Not McCain”
Well you got me on one. FEEL BETTER NOW??? I was thinking of my grandmother who is 92.

Posted by: Johnny | August 23, 2008, 3:04 am 3:04 am

As for McCain’s life expectancy, he can only be killed by taking his head off with a sword when there can be only one. Otherwise he’s immortal. He survived the Forrestal fire, being shot down, tortured in Vietnam, Cancer and hasn’t succumbed to suicide from dealing with congress.

As I stated before, if Obama has scrubbed his website without explaining why he did so, that’s weak…where did I say Obama is perfect?
I think it’s interesting though that you appear to think the McCain website scrubbing was perfectly legitimate and understandable, and don’t criticize it at all, yet for some reason you’ve been breathlessly scouring the internets for instances of Obama doing so… I suppose there’s no chance of a reasonable explanation for any of those though, right?
Nice consistency…

Posted by: Johnny | August 23, 2008, 3:12 am 3:12 am

Keith–I guess I can overlook those things when I compare them to Obama’s other intellectual deficiencies, which would impair his judgment and executive leadership capabilities:

THE ONLY good thing about BIDEN is that
King OBAMA will be impeached within a year:
And then Biden will be POTUS
at least Biden will NOT destroy this country as Dictator Obama will.

Posted by: B2Slim | August 23, 2008, 3:14 am 3:14 am

Hacienda,
You haven’t addressed how you’re able to overlook the fact that Hillary Clinton has endorsed Barack Obama and urged her supporters (presumably you) to vote for him…
I originally backed Wes Clark for president… when he decided not to run and endorsed Hillary Clinton, my logic was, if I trusted Wes to be president, why not trust his judgment as to who ELSE should be president if not him… and I voted for Hillary in the California primary… she lost my support when she started favorably comparing McCain’s experience to even her own… but that doesn’t change the fact that you’re planning on voting for the person who’s been doing everything in his power to undo what she and her husband have spent their lives working for on the off chance that we’ll tread water for 4 years and she’ll be magically elected…
I’m sorry, you seem like a really smart individual, but that’s just insane… and in no way reflective of your support of Hillary Clinton…

Posted by: Keith | August 23, 2008, 3:18 am 3:18 am

Keith, the reason that I am able to overlook Hillary Clinton’s endorsement of Obama is quite simple. I believe that everyone is capable of forming individual opinions. I also believe that it is highly implausible to find a candidate with whom you are in 100% agreement, 100% of the time. The fact that I supported–and continue to support–Hillary Clinton does not compel me to follow her EVERY direction.
She gave a moving concession speech — I was there. But, rather than convincing me to support Obama, the speech simply cemented my loyalties to her. And the events since her speech have reinforced for me what made her candidacy so compelling–the need for sound and seasoned executive experience and judgment. McCain brings that to the table; Obama does not. And Obama’s statements subsequent to securing the nomination highlight the lack of substance and grasp of the world in which we live.
So, this is why, despite Hillary’s instruction, I do not see the path to voting for Obama, and will simply hold out for her candidacy in 4 years.

Posted by: Hacienda76 | August 23, 2008, 3:29 am 3:29 am

So you agree that a vote for McCain is spitting in the face of everything the Clintons stand for, but in honor of her, you’re going to vote for McCain on the off chance that he’ll just tread water for 4 years? He won’t appoint 2, possibly 3 more Roberts or Alito’s or Saclia’s? Won’t get us entangled in more and more horrific wars?
What guarantee do you even have that she’d be the nominee in 2012? What if another Democrat beats her again? You could find yourself voting Republican for quite a while…
I hope you’ll reconsider… I sincerely do…

Posted by: text-bandit | August 23, 2008, 3:42 am 3:42 am

I MIGHT reconsider. It actually pains me to think about voting Republican this year. It would be my first time voting Republican for president. I was very excited about the prospect of voting for the Democrats, with Hillary at the top of the ticket. But I have yet to see Obama paint the vision for his judgment, competence, and executive leadership style (which I saw from Hillary, and, to a lesser extent, McCain). I have heard a lot about “change” (don’t know what that means) and houses from Obama. This year, judgment and leadership trump ideology, though, and Obama has not yet presented himself as a credible executive. Btw, I live in swing state Virginia — this is what is holding him back there among other people I talk to in our state.

A drama worth nothing – It’s been Joe all the time, why did Obama turn up so much heat? This is indeed an ego-centric man — he wants all the light on him by faking the drama, yet, the reflection is not that good. The more Obama does this, the less respect I have for him.

ryan j – “nice pick – byebye mccain”? Surely you’re not serious. As a DC insider, Biden totally inverts Obama’s “Hope and Change” message.
keith – Why do you overlook Obama’s gaffes and sieze upon McCain’s? McCain no more believes that Afghanistan borders Iraq than Obama believes there are 57 states. They both make gaffes occasionally.
I think the public is realizing how empty Obama’s suit and dreams are. The election will not even be that close. The Dems found a way to blow another presidential election. Nice work, nutroots!

Biden appearing on The Daily Show, August 2, 2005: “John McCain is a personal friend, a great friend, and I would be honored to run with or against John McCain, because I think the country would be better off, be well off no matter who…”
Let the landslide begin.

Posted by: geevill | August 23, 2008, 5:46 am 5:46 am

Oh, come on HACIENDA, you doubt Obama’s judgment and competence? You think Hillary is more competent and has better judgment? If that is true, why is she in big debt now? Doesn’t that tell you she has poor judgment and is not as competent as you thought her to be? And if your, her supporters, do love her and support her that much, why don’t her 18 million supporters help her pay her debt? If each of you will give her a dollar, she will be able to settle her debt.

so much hate why? Obama/Biden is a far more appetizing ticket than McCain/Romney or should I say 4 more years of McSame/Cheney the average taxpayer can’t afford 4 more years of republican tax breaks and war mongering. It’s time to end the Iraq war and get the veterans the help that Bush promised them in 2004 “A Promised Made Is A Promise Kept” he lied just ask the 22,000 PDO discharges that were actually PTSD cases the Army didn’t want the VA to pay for, so much for caring for the troops, and where are the groups Vets for Freedom, Pete Hegseth and Eric Egland and “Troops Need You” on this issue “AWOL” they don’t care about the veterans of this war, just the fact that it keeps going, and Ari Fleischer and Freedoms Watch same thing keep the republican war machine in motion and keep raising the national debt and leave it to our grand children, whatever happeneed to paying for our wars as we fought them?
We can’t afford 4 more years of Republican leadership, this nation needs Obama/Biden
I am a disabled Infantryman who served from the Vietnam era to Desert Storm and 100% disabled by the VA I earned my opinion the old fashioned way, in uniform.
