Virginia Governor Out of the VP Race?
ABC News’ Jennifer Duck Reports: After a private meeting between Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine intensified the vice presidential drumbeat, does Kaine’s schedule (and verb usage) reveal he’s not actually in the running? Following an event in Virginia, Kaine spoke to reporters and revealed that he’s flying to Denver Friday night and that his whole family will be with him. "We’re also trying to make a family vacation out of it," Kaine said. Obama has plans to appear with his running mate on Saturday in Springfield, Ill. Kaine’s reflections on being in the vice presidential mix were also tinged more with past tense than present. "It makes me feel good…flattering," Kaine said, "I’ve always thought it seemed a bit unlikely but I’m not going to tell you it hadn’t been fun." Asked if he has been let in to any conversations surrounding the Democratic veepstakes, Kaine said "I’m going to let the campaign take from here. They’re going to reveal what they want to reveal when they want to reveal it." "It’s been nice to be mentioned but I’m going to let them do the heavy lifting at this point," he added. Pressed by the grammar police press corps on his usage of past tense, Kaine said "I’ll let you be the grammar judge although I’ve never been known for accuracy in grammar so it would be hard to scrutinize my grammar and make a conclusion." Kaine said he had a "calm feeling about it all" and that his obsession with the veepstakes ran lukewarm, particularly compared to the press. "There have been ups and downs, I gotta admit," Kaine said of the process, "but I just got a good, calm feeling about it. It’s going to work out the way it’s supposed to."

Sen. DeMint: GOP Race Could Go Until Convention
Obama Avoids Questions on Contraception Rule
You guys in the media clearly need a hobby to get you past these slow news periods.
You know, slow… as in times when we aren’t involved in two wars, taking sides in a third, and staring down the barrel of a bad economy. Slow times like that.

With more and more coming out about Obama’s much cozier relationship with the terrorist Bill Ayers, I’ll bet people are rethinking being Obama’s VP. Plus they don’t want that humiliating loss in November.
Just sayin.

If Obama had done anything illegal, wouldn’t he have been arrested? He wasn’t even mentioned at Rezko’s trial and let’s face it. At least it was just 1 house. Mr. McGoo is toast!

Yes, he should have been arrested in the court of law, and he has been arrested and sentenced to lose in November in people’s court. He has lied, repeatedly, from his associations, brainwashing to voting for Cheney’s energy and Bush’s spy bills.

—”It makes me feel good…flattering,” Kaine said, “I’ve always thought it seemed a bit unlikely but I’m not going to tell you it hadn’t been fun.”—
The tense is wrong in this sentence . . . shouldn’t it be ‘hasn’t been fun’, not ‘hadn’t been fun’.
It seems like a little thing, but I think it shows it’s him and he’s an honest guy who’s not very good at bluffing.
Maybe he’s lying about going to Denver on Friday although his family is going?
The question to ask should have been if they were going to attend the convention because he’s not slated to speak . . . unless he’s VP and he knows it!

Of all the stupid things to print…yesterday it was Obama referring to the VP as a “He” and today it is a conclusion based on the usage of a certian verb tense.
Ok, ABC I will do your job…why not run an expose on how the VA hospitals in TX and around the nation are woefully underfunded and are unable to properly care for soldiers returning from battle in Iraq.
Go to any Vetran’s hospital and see for yourself…support our troops is a motto our President and Congress seem to cling to only when they are shipping our soldiers out not when they return home injured and in need of proper care.
ABC, how about producing journalism that informs and inspires people because right now your “news” reporting is a joke.

There’s only one: Hillary Clinton.
His failure to act, the resentments from the Obama campaign to agnolish Clinton won big has put Obama in a terrible squeeze. Is he picking someone else with negative Electoral Map…
She acts, Clinton was selling the Dream Team after Texas, saying she’d have him as VP. It was tactic, it was political savy and it respected what had happened in the caucuses.
Since “winning it” 3rd of June, Obama should have given it to Clinton 4rd of June. He failed to act. He lets it fester, plays like there are a dozen other candidates to choose from, half of them woman. Never Clinton. Obama is not ready to lead because he fails to act from political realities. He wants to moll on things, see it from all sorts of angles, find the neuances. Is he ready to lead?
Being president is above Obama’s pay grade.

Americans are truly stupid people. You would vote for or against someone based on their name?? Or lies told in a book that should be classified as “fiction”?? You voted for Dubya in 2004 because he scared you into fearing another attack from Al Queda. You bought into all his and Cheney’s lies and this country is now going bankrupt — morally and financially bankrupt!! McCain only seems to want War and more war. He shoots off his mouth about Russia invading Georgia. What’s he going to do about it? We don’t have an army to go in there and beat up the Russians now do we?? No, our military is tied up in two other wars – one of which was totally unjustified–at the cost of $10Billion a month. But, hey, better kill them over there than over here, right?? You people are just so stupid.

Obama and Ayers worked together on a program administering money from a grant from the Annenberg Foundation to improve education in Chicago. This foundation based on publishing money including TV Guide also funded the Communications Schools at USC in Los Angeles and the University of Pennsylvania. As Obama said on the debate when Hillary brought up Ayers name that he was only 8 years old when Ayers was involved with the Weatherman faction of SDS and Bill Clinton had given him a pardon. The committee included many respected citizens of Chicago and Ayers has been a professor for a number of years and the last time I checked had not been in trouble for anything. Once again the overly zealous McCainiacs are trying to make something out of nothing. By the way, they might want to read what Mr. Corsi said about John McCain too.

In an interview with “Fox News Sunday” in April, Obama said he “deplored” Ayers action in the 1960s.
“Mr. Ayers is a 60-plus-year-old individual who lives in my neighborhood, who did something that I deplore 40 years ago when I was 6 or 7 years old,” Obama said then. “By the time I met him, he is a professor of education at the University of Illinois. We served on a board together that had Republicans, bankers, lawyers, focused on education.”

The Arizona Republic – October 17, 1989″ . . . both in telephone conversations with reporters and on a live radio talk show, the Republican senator was far from calm. He was agitated. Angry. And the way he dealt with unpleasant questions was to bully the questioners . . . ‘You’re a liar,’ McCain snapped Sept. 29 when an Arizona Republic reporter asked him about business ties between his wife, Cindy McCain, and Keating . . . ‘That’s the spouse’s involvement, you idiot,’ McCain sneered later in the same conversation. ‘You do understand English, don’t you?’ “. . . Not content with just bullying reporters, McCain tried belittling them: ‘It’s up to you to find that out, kids.’ . . . McCain wasn’t talking to liars. He wasn’t talking to juveniles. The senator was talking to two reporters.”
The Arizona Republic – October 17, 1989 — “McCain, in a radio talk-show appearance last week condemned disclosures of his family’s ties to Keating as ‘irresponsible journalism.’”
The Phoenix Gazette, November 13, 1989 — “Reporters also ‘discovered’ that the senator’s wife and father-in-law invested $359,100.00 in one of Mr. Keating’s projects in 1986 . . .”
The Arizona Republic, April 29, 1990 — “McCain’s involvement with Keating . . . when reporters called him with questions last year about previously unknown ties to Keating, an investment by wife Cindy McCain in a Keating shopping center and trips to Keating’s Bahamas home, McCain went into a rage.”

Reflecting his character as a Kerry-like shallow, arrogant, platitude-spouting, inexperienced, elitist, narcissistic, flip-flopping gas-bag, hussein will likely pick a running mate who is so bland, unknown and undistinguished he won’t even have a shadow. That is the only way the empty-suit hussein won’t be upstaged by a VP with all those things he doesn’t have, like experience, competence, skill, good judgment, accomplishments, etc.

At the “Saddleback” conference, Obama said that America’s moral failing was the failure to abide by that basic precept found in the Book of Matthew: Whatever you do for the least of my brothers, you do for me.”
What greater shame can Barak Obama bring upon himself than what is now known today about his half-brother George Hussein Onyango Obama?
Of course George was useful enough to Barak Obama to mention as a vignette or portraiture in establishing his own image in Dreams of My Father. But the stark reality of his young bother’s life can be witnessed today in Nairobi. We now know that George lives in a filthy shanty that is the size of one of our bathrroms. To sustain himself, he makes less than a dollar a month.
At their last meeting two years ago, George talked to his famous half-brother. That was when Barak Obama traveled to Africa with his wife and daughters. Nothing much happened. But George has more pressing matters to deal with daily than his half-brother’s presidential bid: community violence, poverty and disease.
If I knew that George would get it, I’d send him a kick-start check for two hundred dollars right now: one hundred from me, and another hundred to cover for his half-brother, the next President.
Who knows; maybe Barak Obama will reach into that cloud of transcendence and pull out another best-seller: The Nightmares of My Brother.

Obama is raised by a black Communist Party member in Hawaii. Frank Marshall Davis. He inspired Obama to dump his white mother and embrace black. Look at all his programs and positions they are Marxist Communist positions. I do not want Putin as President of USA. This will be my first election voting for a Republican. As a Virginia resident, I happen to know that most, if not all the time, Virginians vote for a Governor who is on the opposite political party from the President. The reason? Virginians want a check and balance system.
The reason why they voted for Tim Kaine is because the President of the United States was Republican. When Bill Clinton was President, who was Virginia’s governor? A Republican named Jim Gilmore.
The Obama supporters think that if Obama picks Tim Kaine for his running mate, that means Virginia would vote for Obama in the upcoming Presidential election. They need to know that according to the most recent polls, most Virginians have already made up their mind to vote for McCain.
Picking Tim Kaine for a running mate would hardly have any effect on these voters since the only reason they voted for Tim Kaine in the first place was to act as a check on the President.
The last time Virginia voted for a Democrat for President was in 1964. At least from a personal point of view it would make no more sense for Obama to even campaign here that it would for McCain to campaign in Washington DC, or Massachusetts which everybody knows would never vote Republican.

Because reporting the truth about what each candidate does or doesn’t support, wouldn’t get much attention. The majority of the people ignore the important issues and things about each candidate and only cling to little trashy tidbit rumors in order to make their decisions.
“I’m voting for McCain because Obama’s name scares me.” stomp stomp
“Well I’m voting for Obama because McCain forgot how many deeds he has in his name.” the rich SOB
“Well McCain is older and wiser so there”
“So, Obama is young and intelligent and will actually live through his term”
Oh, it is just so much more fun to play in the dirt and reading a truth filled informative article just wouldn’t cut the mustard.

Thats called money laundering. How about Obama donations from foriegn countries. Its all there for you to read about.Read something other than Obama distributed talking points. The net is way ahead of you and so are many of your readers.

ABC news has become a national disgrace. Peter Jennings must be rolling over in his grave. Replace Charlie Gibson with a newsman (or woman) now!!! No more morning talk show hosts for news anchors!!! Get rid of all the brainless pretty boy (or girl) reporters. Lets get some ugly people on TV that know what they are talking about! Boo!!!

McCain is so old (72 next month)and senile that he cant remember how many houses he owns. His senility explains why he couldn’t remember the names of all the different factions fighting for control in Irag. He also couldn’t remember the name of the president of France. We need a senile old man as president to try to undue all of the screw ups of the Bush administration.

I would prefer Biden, but I’d have no problems if Obama selected Hillary.
On that subject, I implore those Hillary supporters who refuse to vote for Obama unless their candidate is the VP to reconsider.
Think of the consequences if McCain gets in. Think of a Supreme Court packed with conservatives.

McCain is not a marxist.
Mr. Obama has espoused marxist ideology until it wss found to be politically unpopular (in reserve for when he calls the shots?).
America is not a failure.
The socialist paradises are demonstrable failures.
McCain wants victory in wars we are now engaged in and to stand up to those who would bully their neighbors. (Afganistan and Iraq were justified, “USSR” in Georgia, pure assasination.)
McCain doesn’t want to squeez the working class, regardless of income. Especially in economicly uncertain times.
Quite a start without name calling and ad hominem attacks.

“Think of the consequences if McCain gets in. Think of a Supreme Court packed with conservatives.” – Lefty
Think of a court not legislating from the bench. I believe that is still congress’ job. Although I would understand the belief that congress has delegated that responsibility for the last year and a half.
We need a POTUS and congress that is responsive to the needs and desires of the citizenry without exceeding their constitutional obligations.

Hey Lefty’s, You blast McCain for cheating on his wife but I bet when Bill was in you said “leave his personal life out of it, he is a good president.” Same double standard as always. Plus I want the bad guys to think our guy is one bad day away from hitting the button. Everyone is a little afraid of the unpredictable guy.
