Biden Argues McCain/Palin Are No Change Agents
ABC News’ Matt Jaffe reports: Democratic vice-presidential nominee Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., today accused Republican running mates Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin of being far from the real ticket of change.
"John McCain and Sarah Palin are talking about being the agents of change," Biden told reporters aboard a flight to Kalispell, Mont. "There may be something I’m unaware of, but what one major item do they disagree with the last eight years on? On taxes? On jobs? On exporting jobs? On education? On college tuition? On alternative energy? On not one! Not one that I know of! The only change I know of that they’re talking about in those areas is they’re gonna tax your healthcare."
"They may change the style of the administration," he continued. "They may change, you know, the feel. But on things that matter to people’s lives, I haven’t heard a single solitary thing that would affect the life of somebody struggling to keep their job, or somebody who is going to go out there and try to send their kid to school, or somebody who is worried about losing their health care. I haven’t heard a thing."
It is these issues, said the Delaware lawmaker, once on the ground in Montana, that will ultimately decide the election, not gender or war heroics.
"The fundamental issue in this campaign is not whether John McCain is a good man and a hero, which he is," Biden told a gym full of supporterts in Kalispell this evening. "It’s not whether Sarah Palin can aim an assault rifle and hit dead target, which she probably can and I hope it’s not me. It’s not whether or not she’s a good mother, because I think for everything I’ve read she is … but it’s about priorities. It’s about what are we going to do, what are we going to do and how are we going to do it."
Aboard his plane, the Democratic number-two also hit out at his Republican counterpart Palin for not being available to the media.
"Sometime Sarah Palin’s going to have to do what I’m doing right now. She’s actually going to have to talk to you, you know. She’s actually going to have to tell you what she thinks. She’s actually going to have to defend her record, I mean, not through a press release — straight up.
"It seems to me that she’s gonna be put to the test like I’m put to the test every day," said the running mate of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.. "Like John McCain’s been put to the test, and like Barack’s been put to the test.
"You’re holding me to that standard, as you should. Been holding me to that standard my whole life. Somewhere along the line, you will and she will, I think she will not avoid it, she will start to stand before the nation and the public and you know, determine whether or not her views, her breadth of knowledge, her record, is one that people say, ‘Yeah I want that person as vice president, a heartbeat away from being president.’"
Biden also accused Republicans of living in a time warp if they believe that female voters will support Palin just because she’s a woman.
"Do you know any women reporters who automatically decide, ‘Well, there’s a woman, I’m automatically for that woman? I don’t agree with a single thing she says but I’m for that woman.’ Do any of you know or hear a minority who says, ‘Oh, that guy’s a Catholic’ — that’s not a minority — ‘or a Hispanic or African-American or Chinese-American or Asian-American generally?’ So I just think people are way beyond that. I think that’s sort of a Republican time warp, you know what I mean? I think they’re just, you know, behind the curve."

Yes, these next 60 days should be exciting, and the debates will be very illuminating. I think they’ll clearly show that John McCain is just paying lip service to change, while Barack Obama has the vision, character, temperament and leadership ability to give our country the kinds of changes it so badly needs after eight years of an administration that’s given us an endless, costly war and an economy that’s in the dumps and still facing huge problems. As a member of Congress and an outspoken critic of the war in Iraq (and of the urgent need for more troops in Afghanistan), Obama clearly has better understanding than McCain and more national experience than Sarah Palin. I believe that if Americans elect McCain and Palin, they will eventually regret the choice, a choice of likability and sameness over the courage that America is known for to pioneer and take our country forward with integrity. I’m voting for Obama and Joe Biden because they will keep America moving in the right direction, rather than setting us back.

I just heard today from this message board about some really cruel comments that McCain made about Chelsea Clinton when she was just a kid during the 2000 campaign. They are really awful comments (you can find them on the web if you want to know what he said). He just lost my vote.
This should be absolutely forbidden. The poor kid. He should have attacked Bill — his policies were bad and there was monica too. But poor Chelsea had nothing to do with this! Why on earth would a SENATOR make crude jokes about an innocent girl! He’s a jerk.
I still cant’ bring myself to vote Obama, but NO WAY I am voting for McCain.

What a strange contrast, Obama talked change but brings in the “Old Guard” you know the old guys Joe Biden, Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton, that’s been in Washington sense Hector was a pup, how do you pull new ideas out of old dogs, teach them a new trick yes, let them come up with a new idea, fat chance. That tells me it’s the continuation of the party line no change there either.
At least McCain is bringing in a new generation of youngblood, ones that can still chew their own meat. Basic ideals yes but there is change in the air and it will be good.

It seems the republicans have degererated to being the party of snarking and sniping. The RNC was a huge disappointment. There was very little discussion of policy — only snipes at Obama. I’d really love to see my republicans talk about issues again — until that happens, they won’t be getting my vote.

Sarah Palin strongly believes that Men must be paid MORE than women! Sarah Palin also wants to force women/girls that are victims of rape/incest to carry such fetuses resulting from the said rape/incest to full term, then deliver the baby – irrespective of the will of the victim or even her age. And to think that women are cheering Sarah Palin from the rooftops as the poster girl of womens rights who will spectacularly smash through that presidential/Vice presidential glass ceiling.
Some folks wrongly think that being a woman she will moderate or help turn McCain around from his opposition to equal pay to women. Like this statement one Dave from Baltimore, posted on another site:”I hope Palin breaks with McCain on equal pay for equal work – it would pave the way to a better future for her four children and grandson.”
Are you kidding me?!!! Gov. Palin is even more hardcore in her opposition to equal pay for WOMEN, than is McCain. Sarah Palin believes that women must be paid LESS than men – no ifs and buts about it. Period.
McCain, when pushed about his vote AGAINST giving women equal pay as men, has tried to flip-flop saying that ‘if women are to aspire to equal pay, they must first aspire to achieve college eduction”.
In other words, in McCain’s world, only college educated women shall be extended equality with men in terms of pay/wages. Sarah Palin’s views about (rather against) equal pay for women are very straightforward, and cast in stone: Women must get paid LESS than men. College educated or not, when it comes to pay parity, women are less than men. Coming from a Woman herself, its ironic, but true!
Kind of like an Afro-American person advocating slavery and segregation of the black population!! Wierd isn’t it?
Strangely, Sarah Palin is being trumpeted as the symbol of a woman smashing through the glass ceiling!
(We are not even going into her strident opposition to abortion even if the pregnancy is a result of rape/incest, and the victim wants to abort the fetus. Sarah Palin believes that such rape/incest survivors must be forced to carry the fetus resulting from rape/incest to term, then deliver the baby. NO exceptions, no termination. If such a woman chooses to abort the baby, she commits a crime, and must be tried as a criminal and punished for opting to abort the fetus. Even if the pregnant female is a MINOR child, she would still have to deliver the baby.
Just so you know, several courts in the country have allowed visitation/parental rights to rapists and the parents or rapists to meet and bond with children born due to the said rape.
I shudder to even imagine what happens when victims of rape/incest are forced to bear the children resulting from the rape (one Sarah Palin’s wishes becomes the law), and then having to drop off the child at the rapists (child’s father) door for court sanctioned visits to dad. What would go through the mother’s mind? Would such rapists not molest these children all over again. What if this rapist rapes this child/daughter all over again…repeating this unbelievably grotesque cycle!!!!!!
Is this American women we are talking about or some burqa clad subjugated women from some Taliban country?!

Snark: the problem is that the republicans are losing on the issues so they go back to non-issues.
It is hard to win on the issues when the last eight years have been republican policies, the country is now a mess, and your platform is entirely more of the same. Just read the detailed platform.. yawn.. Nothing in it is at all different from what Bush is doing now.

Nice Speech John
what exactly is he thinking to change? Is he going to move away from the Bush tax plan? Nope. Is he going to change course in Iraq? Nope.
All I heard is that somehow he’s going to veto all bills with earmarks and that he’s going to domestically drill for oil (something that won’t have any effect on the price of gas at the pump).
None of this is real change. Do not be fooled by a character narrative America! This is the same message Bush tried when he was elected in 2000. This is your chance for a do-over.

There is a 22 degree earthquake comming to republican party.
Palin may be impeached from Alaska as goverenor…
Sept. 5 (Bloomberg) — Half of U.S. voters said first-term Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, doesn’t have the experience needed to be an effective president, according to an ABC News poll.
The entire republican campaign is based on no factual facts, because they cannt give a list of any progress in USA
ECOMONY. The only words out of the past is death ,death and military. If there is one republican who is ready to stand uo and tell the american public . How many jobs have you created for USA citizens .
How many have you helped achieve home ownership..
HOW many Americans are better off then they where 8 years ago.
How have you managed the USA banking system to aviod a collaspe as when daddy Bush was in all savings and loans callaspe. and had be be bailed out . please if you have any self respect at all please explain all the wonderfull accomplishments you have completed for USA ecomony…
Her husband, Todd, twice registered as a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a fierce states’ rights group …
This is not mccains agenda I smell huge conflict and party war down road of campain…for Republican party
First, she announced that her unmarried 17-year-old daughter, Bristol Palin, was pregnant. Among the other revelations:
—A private attorney is authorized to spend $95,000 of state money to defend her against accusations of abuse of power.
—Palin sought pork-barrel projects for her city and state, contrary to her reformist image.
—Her husband once belonged to a fringe political group in Alaska, with some members supporting secession from the United States.Palin could face impeachment if she is found guility of office abuse this would really be a railroad spike in republican party

OMG!
What a horrible thing to say!
Is that really true?
She is a beautiful girl. With nothing to do with that pig McCain!
Are we to assume that all our daughters must look pretty in McCain’s eyes (womanizer), in order for them to have equal rights, equal pay or hols public office under his regime?
I am appalled to my core.
Chelsea, I am so sorry that was ever said of you.
America is belittled because of that monstrous comment.
I am disgusted!

First the Republican party poked fun at Obama’s inexperience. Then they bring in the inexperienced Palin and she is suddenly talking like Obama. On her inexperience they say that it is better than having inexperienced Obama as president as presidency is more importance. Now they suddenly voice that she will bring a fresh change or whatever, but they never say the same about Obama. They said you need experience like you have in McCain and at the same time criticize that they will have the same old ideas when Biden was selected as vice-president.

Rasmussen’s daily tracking poll also reported today that when “leaners” are included, Obama and McCain are now tied at 48 percent. That means that, by Rasmussen’s measure, Obama’s 6-point bounce has been erased. CBS News polling had shown the same outcome midway through the GOP convention.
McCain’s resurgence in the polls comes as Nielsen Media Research reported that the Republican convention earned more television viewers than the Democratic convention. Republicans earned an average audience of 34.5 million, while Democrats earned an average viewership of 30.2 million.
******
It’s amazing, after ALL the money and the Hollywood stagecraft, and the media support of Obama and the DemWits, that the Republicans, in their traditional setting, still gained more viewers than the DemWits. John McCain and Sarah Palin are not change agents. America is total disaster!! Go look new reports last three days. Worst unemployment rate over last five years. Another bank closed. ETC.
MCCAIN – I have found this gentlemen had a horrible temper. Well documented and verified. He has voted with Bush and Republicans 90% of time. McCain has sold his sole to Republicans this election. All must stay same and he must folow same- would be another 4 years of same.
PALIN – Sarah and John claim she took on “good ole Boys and cleaned up Alaska.” Not true!! FBI investigation started 2004. First FBI raid legislator offices Aug, 2006. Sarah won vote governor Nov, s006. Sarah did not start/investigate any of this. No Alaska government officials conducted investigation. Only FBI!!! Sarah just legally had to comply!!
FBI INVESTIGATION POLITICAL PARTY INVOLVED – REPUBLICAN
TO DATE 11 INDICTED PLUS OTHERS AND OIL. FBI IS STILL INVESTIGATING.
PALIN IS UNDER EHTICS INVESTIGATION AT PRESENT. MCCAIN TOP LAWYERS UP THERE. STALLING SEEN. PALIN APPEARS TO HAVE WANTED HER BROTHER INLAW FIRED. WHEN STATE POLICE LET UNION HANDLE AND OFFICER ONLY SUSPENDED HE WAS FIRED. TROOPER MAY BE JERK. BUT THERE ARE CONFLICT OF INTEREST AND HE IS STILL PROTECTED ELGALLY. I ALSO SEE SHE FIRES PEOPLE RIGHT AND LEFT. CHECK WHEN SHE WAS MAYOR OF WASILLA. FIRED POPULAR LIBRARIAN – POSSIBLE CAUSE BOOK CENSORSHIP REQUEST BY PALIN AND NONSUPPORT OF PALIN DURING MAYOR’S RACE. FIRED POLICE CHIEF. PALIN ALMOST RECALLED. PRESSURE. PALIN REHIRED LIVRARIAN. POLICE CHIEF SUED, AND LOST ONLY BECAUSE HIS LEGAL WORK AGREEMENT WAS FORGOTTEN TO BE PASSED THROUGH CITY COUNCIL PER JUDGE. PALIN FORCE TO GET ADMINISTRATOR TO RUN CITY. LEFT WASILLA TOTALLY IN 23 MILLION IN DEBT. LOTS OF ARTICLES SEEM TO REVEAL SHE LEAVES DEAD BODIES ALL AROUND HER.
These two will not be change I personally believe. Sarah Palin is new to national scene but I am quite alarmed at her lies and problems. I see her ethics investigation as Governor reveals major errors on her part. Evidence I found since she was chosen Friday is not good. Also see she lies alot for political gain!! Also noticed some problems with sites now?? Anyone lese having problems?? Why are some of my bookmarked sites no longer available??
These two are not change agents!!!
I know I will cast my vote for Obama-Palin!! Obama is quite correct!!

By the way, what’s this crap about “African/Americans” anyway. If someone was born/raised in the United States, they are AMERICAN. If you want, call them American Africans but please stop the stereotypical rederik that is totally meaningless. Furthermore, if you took the time to learn ANYTHING about NOBAMA you would know his ancestry is EGIPTION and his ancestors were SLAVE TRADERS. Sorry to burst your bubble but facts are facts.

It truly is amazing what the nomination of Sarah Palin did for the news media: the MSM, the bloggers, the magazines. All of sudden, there is tremendous praise and energy. Along with the wonderful surprise that McCain picked a successful governor far from the Washington crowd, the hate and spin machines are trying everything to discredit her and McCain. Chelsea Clinton, Janet Reno, and what else to sway the Clinton Dems to not even think about voting for McCain. Come on! We are tuned into this election like never before.
Biden doth protest too much. Obama should have been going to the Town Hall meetings with McCain and really discussing the issues up close and personal so people could see and hear a little substance. The rock star venues and concerts were not the vision most Americans find convincing. We can see by the records who is the kind of trustworthy candidates we need. CHANGE really is coming, but not from the soundbite candidate!

georgia, I totally agree with you. The DemWits are trying to use the Chelsea Clinton/Janet Reno joke to make the Clinton supporters go with NoBama. The problem is, is that the Clinton supporters basically hate NoBama because of the way he treated Hillary in the primaries and now is trying to use her to help him win. I guess now the DemWits really believe in P.U.M.A.
I see more and more, 65% of Clinton supporters according to the latest poll are moving to McCain/Palin……also, 65% of Americans believe that Palin will be the first woman President.
DemWits, you are grasping at straws. Its time to give it up. The “pied” piper, Obama, has played his last tune. True “change” is coming to Washington!

I’m not fan of Palin’s, but Dr. Tantillo (‘the marketing doctor’ – http://blog.marketingdoctor.tv ) did a recent post on the Obama/Biden brands and the McCain/Palin brands.
He argues that McCain’s choice of VP now makes him, rather than Obama, the candidate of Change:
“Brands are combined for two reasons:
1) To complement one another;
and/or
2) Because they are consistent with one another.
The best brand combinations are when both 1 and 2 are happening.
[Palin] complements [McCain's] brand by bringing several demographics to the McCain brand, but she is also consistent with the brand because she is a party- and Washington-outsider, a fighter of waste and corruption and a straight talker. . . In fact, what Palin does is remind the electorate of what the McCain brand was all about in the decades before he ran for president and opponents painted him as an out-of-touch, wealthy guy who forgets the number of houses he owns.”
Full post: http://blog.marketingdoctor.tv/2008/09/01/brand-advisory.aspx
Tantillo also just did a follow-up post on Palin (and Microsoft), highlighting how Palin has done a great job of building her brand (in contrast to Microsoft):
“At bottom, what Palin did was prevent people from being distracted from her brand’s core features. Every possibly fatal distraction (i.e., her daughter’s pregnancy) she turned into a strength (every family has its struggles).”
He also points out how pull marketing has been at work in this election.

Nobody can fix education without fixing society first, and nobody can make parents read to their kids and teach them how to behave and to do their best and be responsible for their own actions.
College-tuition…how about at least 0% interest on student loans and more programs like the Florida Bright Futures Scholarships for students with good GPAs and passing SAT/ACT scores?
What educated people give back to society is too important to mess around with. However, those who can’t read, do simple math and just want to smoke dope and drink are a waste of our college resources. There should be no excuse for children who are willing to work and learn not going to college if they desire. But, the entitlement angle has to be eliminated.
Also, how does one define a ‘good teacher’? We have bad policemen and judges and politicians…anyway we can get rid of them, too?
To the most vocal parents bad teachers are the ones who actually expect their kids to work and to learn and to behave. The good teachers are the ones who teach nothing, expect nothing and hand out A’s to everyone because in this Age of Aquarius everybody is equal and deserving…awwww. :-)

Rose, why are you so upet? Or, are all those “caps” you’re typing with is because you don’t know how to release the “caps” button. I have not posted anything about the last 8 years…I, with most all Americans, agree that George Bush has not been a good President. Ronald Reagan, on the otherhand, was a very good President. I’m voting for McCain because he has stood up time and again to his own party for the sake of change. Many in the Republican party do call him a “maverick” because of his stance on change. If you remember, McCain and Bush have been at words with each other many times over the last eight years. I see now, with McCain/Palin, a new personality being taken on by the Republicans. I haven’t seen the Republican base this charged since Reagan. McCain/Palin are about “change”. The change America needs to move forward on all the issues. Whats more, they will stand up to their own party and reach out in bipartisan efforts to bring about this change. With Obama, its just words…..he NEVER used the word “victory” in his acceptance speech…he said “change” but NEVER gave steps on how to bring about this change. Americans need to feel successful, to be “victorius”….this will happen with McCain/Palin.

It may be true that the Republican party is more supportive of the “rich”… I appreciate their efforts to serve the rich business owners and financial powerhouses that have realized the ultimate American Dream. I am a working class white male with a total household income of just under 100K with NO college degrees in the house. It is NOT poor white people or poor black people that I work for; it is wealthy business owners that make it possible for me to pay my bills through my hard work and effort to further THEIR desires to become MORE rich than they are. I have NEVER been offered a job by a poor person (black or white). I hope that McCain/Palin make it into office and continue to support my employer and others like them, that allow people like me to earn a respectable living and care for my children. I don’t want welfare, SSI (crazy checks), and foodstamps or the other handouts that the DemWits have given to the people of this country that are too damned sorry to work for their keep. I for one am proud to pay my taxes and be able to look down my nose at the DemWit supporters in the grocery line paying for their rib-eyes and filets with MY tax money. They who are too lazy to work are subject to ME and others like me who have too much pride and ambition to be perpetual wards of the state. If someone ligitimately can not earn a living; by all means give that person all the help they need to live a decent life. If your too damned sorry to work and choose to be a baby-factory and can’t peel the mattress off your back long enough to hold down a job; then root hard or DIE!

What change has McCain stood up for? Will he suddenly start caring for the troops? Will he suddenly start caring for the poor? The Republican National Convention was a true reflection on the people McCain values: the rich and white. He had an opportunity to stand up for the less fortunate but unlike Obama, McCain couldn’t even vote present because he was absent. And Sarah Palin is an agent for change? I know, she’ll change the Constitution. That pesky 1st amendment may get in the way of her ability to ban books. And St. Ronald the Magnificent was a very good president! Give me a break! He was just George Bush with a better personality. Although come to think of it, Ronald Reagan did defend us from that horrible danger the country of Grenada posed. He bravely sent our troops in to take care of all 7 Cubans who were threatening our country, right after sending 242 Marines to their deaths in Lebanon for no apparent reason. Ronald Reagan and George Bush were just alike, warmongering and John McSame will give us 4 more years of the last 8 years.

“Sarah Palin is a joke and a pitbull that is trained to kill people.”
I suppose that you would prefer a prim and proper FRENCH poodle be 2nd in command of this great country?
I prefer to have my country led by someone who can fully appreciate my right to keep and bear arms, in the event that some DemWit hopped up on crack (or whatever it is that they buy with their welfare checks), shows up at my door wanting to take what i’ve worked my butt off for, rather than work for their own. For this problem, I have the solution, and it isn’t E-911 until after the fact (to take the trash away). McCain/Palin will ensure that I keep the solution at the ready. I believe that Hussein / Biden will believe that I, as a reasonably successful wage earner should relenquish my property to further the advancement of the depraved af society. After all, I have a job and insurance, so I can replace what has been taken from me, and the DemWit who just took my belongings is not capable of earning a living because society has rendered him unemployable through all the entitlements that he has become accustomed to. Thereofore he has somehow become my responsibility. If this scenario ever presents itself; I will render the DemWit unemployable by way of a properly placed .40 S&W, made legally available to me by my 2nd Amendment right.

Seems it’s OK when 95% of AA’s vote for obama just because of “race pride” – BUT if a Woman wants to VOTE for another woman – we must be crazy???????

What – only AA’s can vote to “Make History” – Maybe women want to “Make History also! Hillary Clinton is the best qualified to lead our country – but obama & the DNC pushed her out.
McCain was always my next choice as obama is a FRAUD – now he picked a very qualified GOV as his VP – so looks like he gets my vote.

Character:He joined poker games because he wanted to know key person to help him going up his career.
Leadership:In US senate, he agreed on bipartisan bill, but changed position when it was on floor because he wanted to please his party for his future.
Vision: no actual achievement except speech.
It is a big joke! Wake up guys.

So james from alabama, you basically agree that it is OK to kill people.
Having read all the comments, I just realised how republican could actually win this election – since so many rednecks states are supporting the murderers pitbulls campaigns – look at this list – Texas, Alabama etc etc. Well thats your chance America, to prove to this whole world how racist nation you are – that is, once you elect mccain
Posted by: nazzina | September 7, 2008, 11:45 pm 11:45 pm
It is so absurd to even think that McSame would pick a woman VP just for political gains. He may be a war hero and I respect him for that, but it dosn’t deter from the fact that he is a Washington insider for a quarter century and has really no record to show what exactly he has done and playing old Republican filthy games just to win the election. His pick for that Pig-bull with red lipstick is just to manipulate American peoples’ mind and get the votes to win. America, just think about it, how can we forget the hard times our country is going through under 8 years of Republican-Bush administration. Bringing this unknown woman with no experience and very thin resume on his ticket may draw some attention from republication base, but won’t take away from the fact that the tricks we cannot fall for. Our great nation is at stake, so many losing homes, unemployment is at highest ever, no health care for poor and middle class, really our nations livlyhood is at stake and here we have McSame trying to trick people into voting him by using pitbull Sarah to attack democrats and running away from real issues. Really, as an American I want to vote for the right candidate not somebody for popularity contest. As an independent as I watch Republicans slam and sling mud to democrats and lies after lies from republicans, and after Sarah Palin pick I am voting definately democrat.

naz,
Have you seen anything in any post by James from Alabama that even remotely resembled racism? I think not. Why would you assume that the DemWit who shows up at my door to rob and steal from me and ultimately gets what is due to anyone who tries to take by force what is rightfully mine would be of any race other than white? Now, who’s the racist nazzina?
And to answer your question in regard to killing people…If that person is stealing from me or attempting to harm my loved ones, or even you naz, YES, it is OK to drop him/her in their tracks (even though you would probably testify against me in a court of law for very possibly saving your life / property).

An observation from a Canadian.
I encourage Americans to vote for McCain/Palin not only because they favor trading with Canada but also because having a first woman VP is more significant than having a first black President. Gender should be more important than race. Right? Besides, Obama offers merely words whereas McCain (and even Palin) not only have the words (and they are strong) they also have the experience and therefore can act on their words!
If Obama had only picked Hillary, he would have a better chance, even against McCain and Palin. Then it would have been truly a first. First Black President and First woman Vice-President. But No! Obama went for Biden instead. Which is why it is truly brilliant for McCain to have picked Palin!
Go McCain/Palin

Well there might something that you’re hiding and thats why youre saying again and again what is “rightfully” yours. I dont get it, man. What sort of rights you’re talking about? The rights that allow you to kill foreigners who didnt bomb your country? Illegally jail and torture minors from others countries just because they were caught and predicted to have bombed your country? Cashing on more fossil fuel that drawns my country? Do you think you have the only right in world to protect your loved ones but not any other innocent individual? So the rest are just okay to die even if they are innocent but its only fine if you and your loved one live rich healthy happy life spending cash in vegas and buying tickets to somewhere where you wont see your Jesus.

Did anyone see Joe Biden schooling Tom Brokaw on “Meet the Press” this morning? Say what you want about his verbosity, but Biden KNOWS his stuff when it comes to foreign affairs. I’d like to see a REAL debate between him and Palin, not the staged “recite your talking points” debate that will not show as clearly how superior his knowledge is to hers.

America needs to know these facts about Palin.
• In a videotaped speech to students at her church this year she claimed that the war in Iraq is God’s will.
• In the same speech she also claimed that it is God’s will that Alaska build a $30 million gas and oil pipeline.
• As governor, she advocates teaching creationism in public school classrooms.
• Also refuting overwhelming scientific evidence, Plain states that global warming is not due to human activity.
• She opposes abortion even in the case of rape or incest.
• As mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, she secured almost $27 million in earmarks for her hamlet of about 6,400, assisted by a lobbyist closely allied to now-tarnished Sen. Ted Stevens. Now she says that she is opposed to earmark funding.
• Palin, who has zero experience in foreign policy and only last year received her first U.S. passport , told Alaska Business Monthly that ‘I’ve been so focused on state government, I haven’t really focused much on the war in Iraq.”
• She is under investigation as to whether she abused her power as governor by dismissing the state’s public safety commissioner for refusing to fire her former brother-in-law from the state police.
• She opposes Sex Education in schools and has a 17 year old daughter who and is now pregnant and unwed.
• For two years in the 1990′s, Palin was a member of the extreme fringe Alaska Independence Party, which has at times sought a vote on whether the state should secede.
• As mayor, she pressured her town librarian to ban books.
• Palin is a NRA member and opposes any bans on assault weapons
(Do you need an assault weapon to kill a moose?)
• Palin flip-flopped on her support for the “Bridge to Nowhere.”
Clearly she is prepared to continue the Bush legacy of hypocrisy, ignorance of science, cronyism, and promoting the agenda of the extreme religious right. Palin can count herself among the members of the “Flat Earth Society.”

naz, what country are you from? Do you not understand that in the United States legal citizens are guaranteed rights by our Constitution? If the country in which you reside does not provide you with such rights, i’m truly sorry. Perhaps you can, through legal channels, come to America where you will have such rights. Here in Alabama, we have laws that PERMIT me to defend my home and property that is RIGHTFULLY mine by virtue of the fact that I and my wife have worked hard and earned the money to pay for it. If you will re-read my last post, I stated that I would defend even you, if I observed you being threatened (and I don’t even know you and don’t count you among my loved ones). I would not assume that because you are from the middle-east that you somehow deserved to be threatened. I have friends of mid and far Eastern decent that I would defend as quickly as I would Dave from Texas. If you have a problem with the oil being drained from your country, please take that up with the leaders of your country, not me. I have never been to Vegas and believe that Jesus came to earth, was persecuted, died for my sins and yours as the ultimate sacrifice, was raised from the dead after three days symbolizing the gift of salvation and eteranl life through the grace of God that is available to you and me, should we choose to accept it. If not, we can die and go to hell with Allah, Budah, Joseph Smith, and the other false prophets. I’m going to bed now. Good night all.

Cuabns here in Florida ar voting for John McCain because he has the experience and is a National Hero, i told a group of them that if they had to choose between a 47 yeard old with new ideas and talent and Fidel Castro they would choose Fidel because he has 50 years of experience and he is a national hero — they went nuts, i almost get killed — Experience doesnt matter when you have the talent, im 21 years old and i run an office with 30 people with far more experience working for me and we are doing great, Talent makes a person not experience ( ask Jeff Gordon ) and OBAMA HAS THE TALENT, GO DEMOCRATS — REPUBLICANS ARE FAKE!!!

A few questions for Obama/Bidden:
-In 2006 which candidate started the bipartisan group of 14 senators to get judicial nominations voted on the senate floor?
John McCain
-In 2002 was it Bidden or McCain who authored the Campaign Reform Act (Obama was not in office)?
John McCain
-Who was the harshest and loudest critic of the Bush policies over torture, Abu Grave and Guantanamo Bay?
John McCain
-Who was one of the few Republicans to go on record supporting stem cell research?
John McCain
Who in 1998 introduced legislation to take on Big Tabbaco on using cartoons to target teen smokers?
John McCain
Who in 2003 sponsored a bill to bring about Kyoto standards to US?
John McCain
The list goes on and on folks. McCain brings about not only change but also change that reform.

And, now, Obama and Old Joe are behind in the polls.
With the obvious sidestep of questions concerning Hunter Biden in this morning’s interview, the numbers may even get worse this week.
The attacks and mud slinging from Axelrove and the Obamabots will undoubtedly escalate in response.
But, attacking the vibrance and popularity of Sarah Palin could backfire into an even deeper poll drop.
Women will not respond well to an assault on the soccer mom from Alaska.

To be fair, Palin wasn’t a member of the AIP, her husband was. And she has given speeches for them as well, so it’s not like she doesn’t support them.
She does put Alaska first, though, by hiring lobbyists to get earmarks worth lots of money for the state. This is the state that takes $1.87 in federal money (our money) for every dollar it pays out. And it does that while paying every resident money to live there. Last year, it paid $1,654 _per_person_, and that was an increase of about $500. That increase was due to Palin. She helped in taking in more non-Alaskan tax money to pay for things so they could give away money the Alaskan government had.
Alaska is the Ultimate Welfare State and it is *strongly* Republican. Anyone who tells you Palin is “libertarian” is trying to sell you something.

Carbon dating is funny because the science assumes that the rate of carbon 14 is constant. They have no prove that it is. If you want to play that way then I’ll ask another question.( you still haven’t answered mine). The sun continously is shrinking. Now, (since your using a science that assume, so will I) the sun is continuing shrinking. How much, I’m not sure, but If the earth was millions of years old. Wouldn’t that sun be a little to big for life to live on this earth. The Moon also moves away from earth every year. You can’t explain this, and I need bed. Good night mister Genius who didn’t answer the question!

For most of the world, the controversy over creation and evolution was settled way back in the 19th century, after the theory of evolution was presented in a paper by Charles Darwin to the Linnean Society in July 1858. During the five-year around-the-world trip of the Royal Navy ship Beagle, Darwin had collected a variety of specimens from South America and across the globe, including the various finches that inhabited the Galapagos Islands and which now bear his name. Darwin’s study led him to conclude that species were not, as was generally accepted at the time, fixed and immutable, but changed over time to become entirely new species, through the process of natural selection.
Darwin’s theory of evolution was accepted universally by the scientific community. Conservative religious groups, however, particularly in the United States, were outraged by the idea.
The creationist movement surged into prominence in the 1980′s, when the fundamentalist Religious Right took up the anti-Darwin cudgel, and allied itself with the conservative elements of the Republican Party to form a powerful political constituency that has dominated American politics for the past 25 years. During this time, anti-evolutionists, first under the name “creation scientists” and then later as “intelligent design theorists”, waged pitched battles against evolutionary science, culminating in a series of Federal court fights in Arkansas, Louisiana and Pennsylvania.
In 2005, a Federal judge in Dover, Pennsylvania ruled that ID was nothing but creation “science” renamed, and was unconstitutional to teach.
This website has one very clear objective in mind — to present a history of creation “science” and its latest reincarnation as Intelligent Design “theory”, and to lay bare the political and social roots of this movement. There have been several excellent websites and books that have dissected the scientific distortions and errors made by the creationist/ID movement and the devastating effects they would have on science education — this website, however, aims to go beyond that, and examine the underlying social/political aims of creationism/ID. It must be recognized that the evolution/creation debate is, at core, not really about science or education. The creationists/IDers are not concerned in the slightest about scientific questions, or about correctly interpreting data, or about forming better explanations and understanding of the natural world. Instead, creationism/ID is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the fundamentalist Religious Right — it is a religious and political movement, not a scientific one, and its goals are entirely religious and political, not scientific. The ID/creationists are a part of a larger political movement with radical theocratic aims, and their anti-evolution and anti-science efforts are, as they themselves declare, simply the “wedge issue” which they have chosen in order to gain entry for their wider anti-democratic political goals.
It is my opinion that the ID/creationists (along with the rest of their Religious Right companions) represent, in their attempts to re-mold all of American society in accordance with their own narrow sectarian beliefs, the single greatest threat to freedom and democracy in the United States today.

It is an irony that people are bad mouthing McCain. He was a POW in Vietnam man. and he has seen the worst things happening there. That alone is a handful reason for him making such a remark of Chelsea. It didn’t make him any small. but that definitely made it obvious that he cannot be the right man to be elected for a country we have fought for.
He has deranged mind. He isn’t sound. McCain as much as i appreciated your bid so far, that single comment made you lose 9 of our votes. me, my wife and my 3 daughters and son, and my 2 son in laws and 1 daughter in law.

Try this one on. Pretty well documented, but still…
“Three reporters from Arizona, on the condition of anonymity, also let me in on another incident involving McCain’s intemperateness. In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, “You’re getting a little thin up there.” McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, “At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cu*t.” “

Most women, and that definitely is most Hillary women, will not vote for the McCain/Palin ticket just because he put a female Evangelical in second place.
The female gimmick did NOT work with Democrats or Independents.
We are not stupid enough to vote against our female best interests.
Voters want change.
Voters will choose ‘change across our society’ to return to democracy and the Constitution or we will choose to ‘change the face in Washington’ from Bush to his 90% supporter–a consumate Washington insider from the ruling (destructive) party.
That is the choice–a Republican con game or shell game of ‘what change is’.
Cultural wars all over again with Republicans who are trying to redefine change as a change of face or real change for all of us.
A perfect example of cultural wars is the disgusting smear on Hillary Clinton and the cruelty to Chelsea Clinton contained in this blog.
Neither woman is running for anything.
Why are you wasting everyone’s time attacking them?
Let us talk about the kind of real change McCain or Palin will bring. Policies. Policies. Policies.
Since Obama has been campaigning for 18 months on change, we know what he means.

Of course, Biden knows when he see’s a “change agent”, right?
He’s only been in Washington for as long as McCain… except he’s never bucked his own party, he’s never done much of anything bold except run for president. That and the occasional rambling speech that meant nothing but make him look goofy.
Sen. Biden, I suggest you stop doing interviews and start boning up for the Veep debate on Oct 3… it should be a doozie.

If I remember correctly Hillary morphed into a Change agents– remember when her campaign signs changed? Now Mac is
hopping on the bandwagon. If you can’t bet’um join’um
Over the past week this campaign has reached its dumbest double standard heights.
Just a few weeks ago, Mac tried to plaster the celebrity status on Obama, now Sarah is being covered like one by the fickle media. She’s all glitz and glamour nothing substantial to contribute to America just the image of her large family in tow. BIG DEAL.
I have also noticed after Mac accused the media of biasness, CNN and ABC seem to be going harder after Obama and Biden. This is the 2nd time this has happened. The first time was during Obama’s trip abroad and arrival back home. REMEMBER?
I bet the questions Palin gets in the Charles Gibson ABC interview will be right in line with the typical beauty pageant questions.
She is receiving preferrential treatment by the media since everyone is afraid of being called sexist. owever; Michelle Obama was attacked with a severe viciousness. I see a clear double standard in the way the females of the campaigns are being treaed based on race. Do the right thing ABC and vet Palin the way Michelle Obama tortured by misquotes and ignorant misinterpretations on what she said. With all of the LIES Palin has spoke it won’t be too hard; fair is fair.

Some here never mentioned that despite the strategical (gender+right wind conservative) choice of Palin, Mc Cain take lots of risks bashing Bush and his friends. There could be also a dissaffection in the republican party.
Regarding Sarah Palin, can someone explain to me why his Husband Todd never register Republican ? If she can change her husband, how can she change the country ?
Mc Cain is ambiguous. He picks Palin to gain the conservative vote, let his friends and VP trashing Obama and then, come and speak of change to win the election. Mc Cain=me first, then the country.
Bush and Mc Cain have the same ambivalent relation that Barack and Hillary have.
Biden is a good guy. But I’ve read somewhere that Hillary refused to be considered as VP and if no one spoke about this, was to unite the party. It’s clear that if Hillary refused to be Obama VP could have far more damaged the Obama candidacy, that the official version, in which Obama chose Biden.

TAX AND SPEND PALIN THANK’S BUT NO THANK’S
No one ever talks about how Palin raised property taxes when she was Mayor of Wasilla, spent money on projects that only she seemed to want (a sports complex that never gets used) , and left the city of 9,000 with 23 million of debt.
Sarah is not really change she’s just another tax and spend republican, who just talks like she’s a small government reformer.

Governor Palin is a refreshing face in this Presidential election.
She represents the “All American” girl.
Obama seems so far left. How could anyone relate to his values and associates.
Reverend Wright, Black Liberation Theology, Tony Rezko and William Ayers have a dark cloud around them.
What a ray of shunshine Governor Palin brings to the corruption seen in the Democratic Party.

This is so fantastic, Sarah has created panic for the left and its obamatron drones. Obama the ‘man child’ had a tantrum yesterday blasting John McCain for choosing Sarah Palin. Yes, he was sobbing his little heart out to reporters that his campaign is badly effected by McCain’s VP choice. He is also very sorry that hillary isn’t his VP. Iran’s leadership has expressed “great pleasure” at the prospect of a Barack Obama victory in November, according to Menashe Amir, the Iranian-born head of Radio Israel’s Persian language service.
Iranian religious leaders said if Obama will enter the White House, then Islam will conquer the heart of the American nation
The Iranian leadership likes Obama “mainly because he is a Muslim,” according to Amir. His first name, Barack, comes from “al-baraq,” which is the name of the horse that Muslims believe Muhammad rode on his way to paradise. If he wins the election, Muslims will be very proud of such a conquest, such a win.

Tnanks, Samhiguchi, but NOOOOH ! a well spoken politician as OB mis-spoken of his faith? I believe he finally wanted to come clean with the Americans and told us the truth. There will be many more truth to come out as long as his number is going south. It is strategically designed by the libs to get their followers being ready for their real agent of change: a Muslim in disguised being a Christian.

mtr2311, I think in some aspect you might be right, but I believe this is a slip of the tongue. He’s frustrated, his number as you say are going south. Surely Axelrod knows that coming out as a muslim will alienate a good many people, I mean it’s the whole reason he couldn’t carry the rust belt. I think only his die hard followers would go for that. I think it was a slip, the truth none the less, but a slip.

David, Your posts are always clear observations of what is really happening with the candidates in this campaign. I agree with you at least “90 percent of the time”, or is it 97 percent? Ha! I still have not decipered just what the 90 percent means, procedural rules, or what?

Doesn’t it say something when some of you seize the whole Muslim thing about Obama instead criticisng his policies? I’m not from the United States, but I live in a multi-racial Asian country where we have a sizeable Muslim population. It’s sad that because of a few individuals who parade around a thoroughly distorted version of a religion and use it to justify terrorist attacks that being a Muslim seems to immediately invite suspicion. This is how the terrorists win- creating fear and suspicion to only further divide the society.
Besides, he comments were taken out of context- he was discussing about some people spreading rumours that he was Muslim, not as though somewhat caught a video of him reciting the Koran or something. I mean, people do make those kinds of slips when they’re talking about something in general and get it mixed up, and sometimes we don’t even realise it-it’s happened to me, my friends first-hand- until someone points it out, we’re like “Oh YEAH.”
Sarah Palin? She blatantly lies about her not supporting the Bridge to Nowhere, although official documentation says SHE DID until your Congress killed the whole thing. Her plane sold on eBay? She ended up selling it elsewhere for a loss after she couldn’t sell it online. She didn’t fire her cook-she TRANSFERRED the cook- which = no cuts in spending. She left her town in a DEFICIT over the sports hall. This is precisely what bugs me about her. What does it say when she says all this stuff to appear “normal” and real, but in reality she has either lied or omitted details. If you’re real, you don’t have to go out of your way to appear so. Executive experience? She appears to be blowing all of it- whatnot with her abuse of power ethics investigation. Don’t even let me get started on the earmarks. Goodness knows what kinds of things a McCain/Palin admin will gloss over- Patriot Act? Situation in Iraq?
I am rather galled that McCain’s campaign says they will limit Palin’s interview- for the benefit of the ticket. Whatever happened to all that “Country first” thing? Do you NOT AGREE it would be BENEFICIAL to the country for the citizens to get a feel of Palin, her views, and other things in an unscripted situation so they can make an INFORMED decision-as has been done with the other candidates? If she’s so prepared and together, why are they hiding her-won’t it benefit the GOP to go out an show how great she is?
The issue why we are coming down so much on Palin’s inexperience as opposed to Obama is because of McCain’s age and state of health, there is a higher possiblity she will have to step up. Obama is younger, and Biden will make up for his inexperience.
Yes, Biden may have been in the Senate for a long time, but I don’t think he has agreed 90% of the time with your previous president’s disastrous economic and veteran care policies. Go look up his record.
Really, those of you who can vote, please think it through carefully- we who are not Americans have no say in this but whoever you choose to be your next President will profoundly affect the rest of the world. I’m tired of the same cowboy politics of Bush that McCain claims to differ from-when all his policies are similar. I’m tired of this whole “You’re with us or not with us” kind of labelling who is isn’t the enemy in the world. Your international standing has dropped because of this president. With the right leadership and mentality, your country can do a great amount of good.
We would like change too.

Thank you, NOT AN AMERICAN. You also need to remain to be one of not-an-American and stop drinking the kool-aid. Gallop poll today 50/46. The libs indeed are in hot seat. Biden may be fired very soon and Hillary may need to come back and to be on top of the ticket to save the libs from their biggest failure in the history of the USA.

I would appreciate it if you could engage in a constructive discussion instead of speculating over my dietary habits.
I’m sure you know about the Electoral College do you? Obama has a huge advantage there. No candidate in their right mind will change their running mate at this point of time unless they’re really being massacred at the polls.
Failure? Who crashed your-one of the world’s richest-economy into the pieces it is in now because of the overspending in a wasteful war? We are now all feeling the brunt too because of Bush- and McCain’s policies are all too similar. WHO cuts taxes when our country is engaged in a five-year war?
I’m very open to hearing why you support the Republicans (it seems so, I apologise if I’m wrong). Maybe you can inform me of something I have not considered before.
Posted by: not an American | September 8, 2008, 10:35 am 10:35 am
I have a right to vote and you are not. Now, go drink some more kool-aid while you are hoping for the wealth re-distribution from THE ONE. The Global Poverty Act that has been pushed hard by the libs will not happen so do not dream about it. Free money is the root of all evil, indeed.
Posted by: mtr2311 | September 8, 2008, 10:44 am 10:44 am
Geez, I don’t even know what’s up with this whole kool-aid joke. It sounds amusing, though.
Wealth redistribution? I’m no socialist. But in my opinion your country for now indeed needs higher taxes for corporates and the higher income to pay off the big deficit from the Iraq war fiasco in order to allow the economy to rejuvenate and to climb out of the huge hole it has fallen into- and ours too. Other countries, including mine, are having their growths re-revised down goodness knows how many times this year because of the weak economy.
I’m not too eager for China to become the world’s superpower, you know, as disastrous as I find some of the Bush admin’s policies, I do prefer democracy over communism.
The issue it’s not just the economy. It’s the US’s world standing. America can show the way for the rest of the world, but how are you going to do that when you make so many enemies? I’d sooner have a president who’s willing to negotiate and compromise with Iran-with preconditions and sanctions of course to be considered than to start another war that no doubt my country will end up being part of coalition of. Going back into a Cold War or WWII Axis of Evil/Us and them is hardly what we need now.
Well, what is it you agree with with McCain? I’d like to know your point of view.

“[Sarah Palin is]… the object of the cultural disdain of a left that loves the working class in theory, but is mystified or offended by its lifestyle and conservative values in reality. If there’s ever been an exemplar of the rural America that, in Barack Obama’s telling, ‘bitterly’ clings to its guns and religion, it’s Sarah Palin. It’s her misfortune to be a pioneer with the wrong ideology. So much bile was directed at Clarence Thomas because he was the ‘wrong’ kind of black man. Pro-life, pro-gun and a down-the-line, if populist, conservative, Palin is a traitor to her gender and thus encounters the sort of fury always directed at apostates… A lot of Palin-hatred is couched in terms of her lack of experience. Fair enough, but there’s a tone of contemptuous dismissiveness about the experience that she does have—fueled no doubt by her career in ‘fly-over country’ so remote no one really flies over it. The Obama campaign is loath to admit that she’s governor of Alaska, pretending instead she’s still mayor of tiny Wasilla, and the outraged commentary in the press makes it sound like the vice presidency is an office of such import that it would be better if the newcomer were at the top of the ticket and the wizened pro at the bottom—just like the Democrats.” —Rich Lowry

I am trying to figure out which party McCain/Palin have joined and are running for. I didn’t know that you could switch parties mid way through you campaign. Is there an Evangelical party in the US ? or is McCain/Palin an extension of the Alaskan Separatist party that Mr. and Mrs. Palin belonged to ?
Posted by: Ron | September 8, 2008, 11:26 am 11:26 am
= do prefer democracy over communism= WOW, you are talking out of both sides of your head. I guess you have enough of the kool-aid. Please do not over-dose your self. The libs will love you for supporting higher tax on the big corp and better yet 28 % increase on capital gains that will improving the already slow-down economy. Who will end up paying for all that extra tax once it is passed on to the consumers or investors ? Brilliant thinking! 20% of this goverment budget spent on welfare and assistance and any other sources of hand-out , Is it a times to balance out the fiscal budget and most importantly, we need to stop that S.2433 namely Global Poverty Act, the wealth re-distribution to the third world country that will cut down another 843 billions dollars for the next 13 years. No bigger goverment with bigger budget.

Stick to real issues…what does Palin Believe in… stand for…
America needs to know these facts about Palin.
Palin has close ties to the extreme fringe Alaska Independence Party, which has at times sought a vote on whether the state should secede.

I believe the tenets of democracy and communism are defined not just by the economic policies.
Things like free speech (that allow us to have this discussion) and freedom of assembly. The right to choose who you best feel represents you.
I suppose your point on higher costs from the corporations passed down is possible, but of course the govt can take steps to limit the effect.
However, I wouldn’t agree with McCain’s foreign policy. He calls Russia a bully and then says he wants to work with them. He so quickly lables Russia to blame, when it’s well accepted that Georgia started the hostilities in Ossetia. I mean, Russia isn’t exactly an angle either but that’s not very smart for diplomatic relations. And I can see him only alienating more Middle-Eastern countries who may feel he is “bullying” their brothers in Iraq and also Iran (should he start another war there over the whole nuclear thing or simple refuse to negotiate with them). Osama will be glad to have more misled people to support his cause.
What are your takes on global warming? Palin doesn’t believe in it, and she wants polar bears- who have been reported to be drowning and starving- taken off the endangered species list.
If you would refrain from those tasteless kool-aid jokes, which are getting old, I would think that this discussion would be alot more constructive.

Venezuela invites Russian over for a “playdate.”
A Venezuelan Naval Official said four Russian warships would visit the Caribbean in NOVEMBER…
“Russia will send a nuclear-powered battleship to the Caribbean for a joint naval exercise with Venezuela, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said on Monday.” Sept 8/Reuters
Just a thought about the REALLY IMPORTANT STUFF…
Posted by: Rene'e | September 8, 2008, 11:52 am 11:52 am
Voters need to understand what is going on before they vote this November. First of all, Democrats need to stop trying to align Senator McCain with President Bush. If you follow politics you should know that the Iraq war was voted for overwhelmenly by both parties including Senator Biden. Mr. Obama wasn’t a U.S. Senator at the time to cast a vote. If he was he would of probably voted along with the rest of his party because he is a follower, not a leader like he pretends to be. Congress was given the same intelligence report indicating Saddam Hussein was a threat to our nation and WPD was a concern. So on this issue you can’t single out Sen. McCain for supporting President Bush.
Secondly, most of our country’s problems started after President Bush’s second term when the Democrats and Nancy Pelosi took control. A President can’t work efficiently when there is such partisan hate between both parties. Senator McCain has proven to work both sides of the aisle and is well respected for this reason by his Congress counterparts, something President Bush failed at and is the reason for his low approval numbers.
Regardless, the main sworn duty of a U.S. President is to keep our country safe. No matter what you may think of President Bush, he has kept our country safe since 9/11. In 2000, President Bush inherited a slipping economy and right behind that the 9/11 attack which was due to lack of being proactive from past administrations. Even with all this, President Bush was able to keep the economy going, an increase in home buying and job employment. Most of these declines came after the control of Congress and the installation of a far left liberal Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House.
If you think Mr. Obama and the far left Democrats can take over and lead our country then vote for him. Senator McCain is a proven leader and patriot to our country, more than I can say about Mr. Obama.
Don’t be fooled by a liberal media who is pushing this man. America needs to recapture it’s morals and common decency. The decay of our society has come far left liberals. Mr. Obama is as far left as they get. With him in office with a far left V.P. and Speaker of the House our country will never have the hope of regaining a proud and moral society. Just look at the following Mr. Obama has…Hollywood(The heart and soul of America-stated by John Kerry), MTV, violent anti-war demonstrators, long haired freaky people. If Mr. Obama becomes President it is not the beginning of the end, IT IS THE END!!

NotanAmerican, Thank you for point out my kool-aid remark is boring. That’s what I expect from you. It’s boring and tasteless to repeat the same thing over and over: Maccain = Macsame= 4 more years of McBush. I guess I am not parroting the 90% the same of Mccain with Mcbush since I do not like repetition either. The bottom like is I prefer a free enterprise and I oppose to the admistration that tells me what plans of health care I need to buy and which doctor I have to visit. I prefer to visit a physician at my choice and at my own expense. I do not need the admistration to tell me which TV station or which radio station I can listen to. The socialized health plans and the fairness doctrine are the another forms of communism that I opposed to. I value my constitutional rights and I will do my best to protect my rights. The left wings believe in diplomat solution…Go tell that to the Russians and the terrorists. Diplomacy only works when all the talking is backed up by a strong military base. Remember the Ronald Reagan’s era and the collaspe of the Soviet Union. You cannot put your cards on the table once you have no cards left.

If you think the Chelsea Clinton joke is bad, heres another McCain favorite:
“Did you hear the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die?”
The punch line: “When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask, “Where is that marvelous ape?”
And now Palin is going to make her keep the baby. Sad.

You’re right, diplomacy is often more effective when there is a military to back it up. Unfortunately, Bush and the war which McCain was advocating even before 9/11 has stretched our military dangerously thin and has exposed us as a paper tiger.

Remember when men signed up for the military to fight for us. We do not put guns in our kids hands when they are old enough to get the weapon off the ground. We have come complacent with some one else will do it. Military trained to kill and die when babies needs to be defended by our military. Our population is growing and the military isn’t. Where are Dems. support for a stronger military. A country defending themselves with a weak military becomes defenseless. Check the history books.

Are you kidding. They can steal your Change and run with it. They have duped you. They have put Media on defenisve. They have put politics before Country. There temper, impulsiveness, and stubornness will increase global warming with using nukes on Iran. I hope the leaders and their voters will expose this duo with the help of media.

MSNBC changed their political anchors. They had to change because people saw through the anchors lies and deception. Bottom of ratings. The dems. can not even win in the TV ratings. I go there once in awhile when I need laugh from the desperation.

Since neither McCain nor Obama meet the legal birth qualifications for the presidency, why not just do the right thing and vote for Ron Paul as should have been done in the first place? It would save everyone a lot of trouble and allow America to keep its freedom and constitution a little longer besides. Why wait until the last minute and go through all this wrangling and infighting only to figure out that neither Obama nor McCain are eligible for the office? Just get behind Ron Paul so we can have a real president that is not controlled by the New World Order. He was close personal friends with Ronald Reagan and Reagan even campaigned for Ron Paul.

To HuH:
If I recollect correctly, President George H. Bush (A Republican) won the Persian Gulf War!! Yes, it was a 3 day war….

No McCain-Palin will not be change. Candidate for President is John McCain and he definitely will not be change. Funny he just started this change theme. But I know better. America is a disaster today after 8 years of Republican President. Last few days – Friday worst unemployment 6.1% in last five years, Sunday another bank closes, Sunday Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac taken over by US government – mortgage crisis.
America has gigantic debt- worst in whole history of America. America is in a war. The American people and legislators were lied to about going there by our Republican President. America has huge debt and still paying for war & Iraq has surplus??? Oil factor is playing big issue here. Republicans have always been oil, oil. Republicans – No to any environmental concerns. Republicans – No to pollution control from corporations/industries – say ok people get ill & die- proven fact. Etc. Republican platform and ideas not working – this is what we all know and we are hurting!!
I will vote Obama-Biden. I have found them much more honest during my research. I see Obama has always worked for the people in America. I see Biden has very close relationship with his home state.
McCain I find is more unstable, has horrible temper and loses temper quite easily, he has spent his whole lie playing games to get ahead, have concerns about his wife’s father who made millions in Beer Industry & his Federal indictments x 2 at least & association with mafia in Arizona early days of Arizona, involvement in Keating ive. McCain has voted with Bush about 90% of time. I see he may try to go other ways, but fact is he always caves in and goes with Republican votes!
Palin. I see where she has lied – verified. She didn’t clean up Alaska Politics. Go google Alaska Political Corruption- note date when investigation started. FBI was cleaning up way before she took office. Her government did not do any of investigation. Republicans were Party responsible. 11 legislators + others were indicted. FBI still there. All of government in Alaska walking a fine line since 2004. Sarah Palin just had to ride wave while FBI is doing clean up. Not Sarah Palin, but she still claims the fame. As some legislators up there reported – is stretching truth – in reference to her claims she cleaned up. Google Fact Check – find truth. I am disturbed at what now appears to be a possible cover-up of her ethics complaint upon her as Governor and her administration. Since chosen as Vice President there have been 10-12 top lawyers from McCain Campaign up there working to deal with. All has been “hushed now” for a few days. No reports?? I do have the reports all in PDF file that I was able to get about this “Troopergate Scandal.” She said she would be open and – boom – all secretive – attempts to oust legislative and judiciary branches of government & private attorney they hired. Investigation was voted on & approved by these branches of government. Palin wants her own lawyer to handle all and has taken depositions?? Turning it then over to Ethics Board which is appointed board by governor??? Palin appears to want to control what is seen, presented, and what is heard?? This trooper may be a jerk. He may be a danger, but Palin family provided no legal proof. This is a day of modern technology – lots of ways to catch if he is. All testimony – hearsay – he said – she said. And all in family complaints. This appears to be a family issue that has totally gotten out of control!! Palin sure did not legally approach this issue of her brother in-law correctly. Even in divorce trial transcripts -judge states he was concerned about the continued Palin family vendetta against Trooper Wooten. Maybe he deserved big time. Legally it is easy to get though – just need to do it legally. Records indicate it was not done. This is so sad if Trooper Wooten is a danger.
FACT NOW- But Republicans appear they are trying to now cover Sarah Palin ethic investigation up. And I can’t take any more cover-ups by Republicans. Seems Alaska still has some Republicans problems present in Alaska.
Not willing to take a chance after official agency/state/court documents I have gotten on trial, complaints family, Sarah Palin emails, testimonies etc.
I think she is beautiful. Appears quite strong. Just info gotten/found not good.
As a white college educated medical profession woman, registered Republican for years, I am voting Barack Obama – Joe Biden. These are the more honest candidates for change. America needs a Democrat as President now. America can’t take anymore. I can’t take anymore. And I have done alotif investigation to support my personal stance.

I am a white American woman and I can say that woman will not vote for just any woman. Sarah is no Hillery. I voted for Bush, twice I am ashamed to say. We have to wake up and pay att. McCain made a HUGE mistake with Palin.Beside that he is to much of the same and we need real change. Health care should not be taxed ect, Go Obama&Biden My Prayers are with you&America

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Sheila, Sarah is no Hitlery?
So are you saying that she never FACED SNIPER FIRE IN BOSNIA?
Or, she never tried to shove a billion dollar healthcare boondoggle down our throats?
Or, she never said her husband’s lies were caused by a “vast right-wing conspiracy?”
Or she didn’t steal all the knives and forks out of the whitehouse when she left?
Or, poor SArah is not HATED by 50% of the country?
Or, Sarah isn’t trying to take away our 2nd Amendment rights?
From where I stand, I am DAMN glad that Sarah is not Hitlery.
And Bush – The best dad gummed president we ever had. He kept blogs like this safe for idiots.
Palin – 08

McCain/Palin don’t care about Black people! They’re not in touch with the general public nor are they willing to reach out to middle class america. McCain/Palin= Buch/Cheney all over again. Besides, I’m sick of turning to every news channel with McCain/Palin still preaching that same old tired ass speech they delivered at the RNC. BottoM line is the repblican party does little to appeal to blacks along with other minorities for that matter, and quite frankly, as much as I hate to say this, white republicans along with many closet racists, don’t want to see a Black man become president…hence the heightened hype of Sarah Palin. Republicans should be scared, very scared. They’re unwillingness to accept or adapt to change is apparent especially at the RNC. I could count the number of blacks there with both my hands and thats just flat out RIDICULOUS! SO to all you nay sayers who don’t want Obama as president: Take your redneck asses to the backwoods you’re from and chew tobacco!

Rose, rather than just repeat the democrat talking points that you pick up at dailykos, can you name one, just one, lie that Republicans have told? I will wait.
So, are you saying that the “community organ grinder” picked a gray old fart who can’t keep his mouth shut to have change?
Which woman should McCain have picked? One of the OLD ones like Hairplug Joe? One of the ones who believes in killing babies, like you?
I know, you are gone…
