Biden Blasts ‘Deafening’ Republican Silence on Key Issues
ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe reports: In his most animated performance thus far on the campaign trail, Democratic vice presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., delighted supporters Friday at a campaign stop outside of Philadelphia, going on an extended rant against Republicans and their presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
"It’s not so much what I heard in the Republican convention, when you heard John speak last night, not so much what I heard when I heard part of what the governor had to say, the vice presidential candidate — it’s what I didn’t hear: the silence, the silence of the Republican Party was deafening," Biden said, the applause of the Langhorne crowd starting to build with each word.
"It was deafening on jobs, on health care, on environment, on all the things that matter to the people in the neighborhoods I grew up in!" roared the Scranton-born senator as the audience rose to their feet.
"Ladies and gentlemen," he continued, his voice lifting over the cheers. "Their America is not the America I live in, they see something different than I see.
"Do any of you recall either candidate on the Republican ticket utter the phrase middle class?" he asked the crowd.
"No!" they yelled back in unison, and so it continued, back and forth.
"Did any of you hear them utter the phrase health care and how we’re gonna help?"
"No!"
"Did you hear them talk about aid to get kids to college?"
"No!"
"Did you hear them talk about AIDS education?"
"No!"
"Did you hear them talk about putting more cops on the streets to make them safer?"
"No!"
"I didn’t hear a thing, a thing, about any of the things that matter to the lives of the people," Biden concluded.
Speaking in a middle school gym, the colorful Delaware senator compared Republican behavior at their St. Paul convention this week to the mean kids making snide remarks at school.
"They were like the kids, you know, when you went to school and you were very proud of the new belt you had and the shoes you had. And there was always one kid in the class who said, ‘Oh, are they your brother’s?’ Remember that kid? That’s what this reminded me of. ‘Oh, I love that dress, is that your mother’s?’ You know what I’m talking about."
Not everyone in the crowd did, but Biden soon got his fans back on track, sending them into a standing ovation moments later.
"What do you talk about when you have nothing to say?" he asked, criticizing their attacks on the man at the top of his ticket, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill. "What do you talk about when you can’t explain the last eight years of failure? What do you talk about? You talk about the other guy!"

Big Mouth Biden NEVER ceases to amaze me! Anyone could have listened to the Republican’s speeches and brought up questions on issues. Biden, like his messiah, Obama, are running scared now and its evident. I loved watching Obama stammer and stutter last night with O’Reilly!
And, I can’t wait until Palin rips Big Mouth Biden to shreds in a debate. This will be well worth it!

Way to go Joe! Keep it up. The republicans definitely DON’T GET IT!!! They are not for the middle class, hard-working to make ends meet Americans! They are for the wealthy first, foremost and last!! The price of Cindy McCain’s outfit for one night could have bought 3-4 houses for the less fortunate! I’m not against anyone being rich, but it just shows how out of touch republicans are with the working class and their struggles. Vote Democratic because eight years of republican rule are definitely ENOUGH!!

Good effective speechmaking. The Republicans don’t want to talk about the middle class because they don’t want to explain how middle class wages have gone NOWHERE while expenses have gone up.
The Republicans don’t want to talk about how the dollar has toppled under their policies.
The Republicans don’t want to talk about how having a house, and giving your kids a chance to go to a university, and having savings for retirement is becoming increasingly difficult under their policies.
And the Republicans don’t want to talk about people dying of cancer or going bankrupt or being left with $200,000 in debt, simply because they got sick and didn’t have insurance. Jesus said ‘heal the sick’. Republicans say ‘socialist’.
And the Republicans don’t want to talk about how virtually all the high wage blue collar, virtually all of the industrial, and increasingly even jobs requiring a college degree are going to other countries with lower wages.
Because to the Republicans, the falling fortune of middle class Americans is of no consequence. All that matters is the welfare of those making over $500,000 a year. If you average the wealthy and the middle class together, things don’t look so bad!

A week ago, most Americans had never heard of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. Now, following a Vice Presidential acceptance speech viewed live by more than 40 million people, Palin is viewed favorably by 58% of American voters.

Over half of U.S. voters (51%) think reporters are trying to hurt Sarah Palin with their news coverage, and 24% say those stories make them more likely to vote for Republican presidential candidate John McCain in November.

Of course, with all the political hoopla from the Denver Democrats, it’s easy to forget the populist revolt against high gas prices at the pump. Sen. Obama never mentioned skyrocketing pump prices or their devastating economic impact on ordinary working-class folks. But this is the energy election. It will determine our future peace and prosperity. And Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has the energy answer: Our abundant country can produce more energy at lower cost if government gets out of the way.
Coming from the natural-resource rich state of Alaska, Palin is an experienced energy expert. She knows more about the economics of energy than Sens. McCain, Obama or Biden. And in this year of the oil-shock economy, Palin’s role will be absolutely crucial.

The Obama campaign people just don’t get it that most Americans are self reliable and responsible. They are taught early to be honest, stay in school, stay away from drugs and crimes get a job and have a spouse before having children. Obama and the socialists think we are lazy and ignorant but normal citizens.
McCain/Palin have more experienced and ready to lead. Obama/Biden’s cause is for a socialist country with citizens who are cowards or lazy in they think government owes them a life style.
A new poll just out say Palin is qualified to be VP by 92%. Obama’s poll is 43% for president.

If you make less than $500,000 a year, and you vote Republican, you must not be too smart because the GOP is pulling the wool over your eyes while they make their rich friends and their corporate sponsors richer at your expense. This is why McCain and Palin were alarmingly silent about how they propose to improve the lives of the middle class in the midst of our country’s current economic woes. They have no plan other than to extend the failures of the Bush administration and trumpet the false virtues of Reaganomics. Trickle down economics doesn’t work for the middle class because it doesn’t trickle.

“.”,
Do you know that Bush is still president and the Democratic Congress cannot pass any laws without his signature, unless (1) he does not use the veto, or (2) enough Republicans in the Congress join the Democrats to override his veto? In other words, the Democratic Congress cannot enact policies without the cooperation of Bush, or, in case of an override, a substantial number of Republicans in the Congress?

It amazes me how righteous the Republicans are. They claim they are Christians. This Christian disagrees. A true Christian does not take joy in cutting down and mocking others. A true Christian does not knowingly lie. A true Christian does not judge others lest he be judged. A true Christian works for peace. I see the exact opposite coming from the Republicans at the convention and the people on this blog. It is so very sad.

1. A few months ago Sarah Palin said she didn’t really know what the Vice President does.
2. After being Mayor of Wasilla she left the town with 20 million in long term debt – a town of 8000 people.
3. She was FOR the “bridge to nowhere” until it became politically inconvenient – and when it was killed kept the money.
4. She went to six colleges in six years.
5. She had a man removed from a job for personal reasons.
6. She favors “abstinence only” sex education – and has a pregnant 17 year old daughter.
7. She said she doesn’t believe global warming is “manmade.”
8. She ridiculed Obama’s out-of-college job as a community organizer…what was her out-of-college job, sportscaster?
9. She wants creationism taught in public schools.
10. She is a Far Right wing Republican.
11. If this country falls for the “aw shucks, I’m just a regular gal hockey mom” bit – we are asking for another Bush all over again – AND WE ARE SCREWED.

I love watching all these Obamabots squirm and complain and lie about McCain/Palin. I love hearing them say that Palin will be indicted, that John McCain is senile, and that the Republicans are just for the rich.
However, the reason why they are doing this is because they know that Obama, the “pied piper” of the DemWits has played his last tune come November 4th, when President McCain and Vice President Palin win the election.
I see the Republican posters all cool and collected because we ALL knew this day would come. The MSM have taken their eyes off the “golden” boy and he and his followers can’t handle it. He even said the surge worked beyond his wildest dreams. And now, he is for drilling as well. It appears that the Obama piper likes to pander and flip flop, which, has inevitably cost him the election.
So keep it up, little DemWits…keep spewing your hatred and lies, your fabrications and denounciations, and all that makes you feel good about yourself. However, one thing is for certain…..we all will be welcoming President John McCain and Vice President Sarah Palin in office come January!

One interesting thing missing from the Republican Convention was that no one mentioned that John McCain broke his arms and leg by failing to stay tucked in his ejection seat. The pilot that crashed three other planes let his arms and legs flail out; that’s why he can’t lift his arms. Not torture. His own mistake. None of the other pilots shot down – who knew McCain in the Hanoi Hilton – had the same injuries. Lame-brain McCain.

The is no middle class in the Republic of America.
What I did hear McCain say is that he was going to fight the unions to help Americans.
What scant few Americans are those he would be helping by doing that? Oh, that’s right, Corporate Americans – those that no longer employ but a few American workers and provide so few jobs today that it is absurd to even call them American corporations at this point.
You know the corporations McCain wants to help;
- The toy companies that sell our children toxic toys from China
- The pet food companies that kill our pets with poisonous foods from China
- The Pharmaceutical/Drug makers that kill our loved ones with tainted drugs from China
- The financial institutions and banks from China that own most of America’s newly found debt, thanks to Bush over the last 8 years.
Those are the corporations McCain wants to help.
Let’s face it, China practically owns America because a few politically and morally corrupt politicians sold us to them under the table. We were all looking at some stupid war in Iraq/Afghanistan and we were sold out to the Chinese in the mean time.
Follow the money, follow the money. Look at almost anything you own.
Do you really believe it cost you less? Do you honestly think the Chinese garbage you call your possessions, clothing, stereo, TV, medicines, etc are well made and worth the fortune you spend on them?
[N]IKE sneakers cost $0.21 each pair to MAKE AND SHIP into the US from CHINA! How much do you pay for them? Is it cheaper than they were way back when they were made in Seattle? NO! In fact, they cost MORE now! Not to mention that the quality SUCKS!
Ironically, these Republicans voters have been duped by the Republican political machine and the few that run it (Corporate America) and want to vote for more of this because they don’t even know we’ve been sold out.
It didn’t use to be this way. The GOP used to stand for all the greatest virtues of Americans. Sadly, the people aspiring and entering office were easily lured into creating the situation we are now in and yielding and enriching themselves thanks to Corporate America and lobbyists.
We hemorrhage jobs and manufacturing at such a rate there won’t even be an Economy in 20 years.
Where are we all going to work? Banks and fast food restaurants? Who will be our customers? Chinese and middle eastern businessmen?
OH, that’s right – we’ll all start up our own small businesses. Sure, that’ll work – NOT.
The Republican voters have been lured into thinking the Democrats want to impose socialism upon Americans.
The Republicans have already sold us, lock – stock & barrel to the Communists!!!

They all could have given speeches that helped bring trhe country together. Instead they mocked and divided people. I am an Independent and I vote issues. Obama’s defiance of his previous oath was announced in a creepy video to supporters in which he praised ordinary Americans for “fueling” his candidacy with donations of “five dollars, ten dollars, twenty dollars, whatever you can afford.” He said, “Let’s build the first general election campaign that’s truly funded by the American people.”
Too bad the system he’s rejecting is funded by taxpayers who give $3 to the presidential election fund when they file their taxes.
Too bad Obama is disproportionately funded by people from the top 1 percent of Americans, who own nearly 40 percent of the nation’s wealth ands who account for more than 80 percent of campaign contributions above $250. Through April of 2008, the Campaign Finance Institute reports, Obama received more than $89 million in contributions of $1000 or more, just $8 million less than McCain’s total take ($97.3 million).
According to the Center for Responsive Politics Obama’s top contributors include Goldman Sachs (#1 at $571,000), UBSAG (#3 at $365,000), JP Morgan Chase (#4 at $362,000), Citigroup (#5 at $358,000), Lehman Bros. Obama’s campaign finance comments are pretty damn disingenuous: not exactly the “straight shooter” talk he claims to represent.”

“Why do the dems. hate Bush so much? We republicans don’t hate you guys. We are just smarter than you guys, so take a chill pill”
The asssholee has taken us into a war without any reason and is responsible for the deaths of over 500,000 people. He has enabled corrupt politicians in America and Iraq to steal millions of dollars off US citizens. He took a federal surplus and turned it into the largest deficit in history. His administration politicized every aspect of American life, from the Justice Department to PBS. He placed corrupt and incompetent individuals in positions that harmed American citizens. He has wasted over 600 billion dollars in Iraq while our countries infer-structure is failing. He has alienated every ally we have in the world. He created an energy policy for the US that took $30 a barrel oil and turned it into $140 a barrel oil. His administration has referred to the Constitution as “just a piece of paper”. He routinely breaks our laws and stonewalls any attempt by Congress to do their job. Bush is a criminal, Bush should be on trial and McCain is nothing but BUSH III.
The question should be, why DO you neo-cons want to keep Bush in power by electing McCain? Bush is un-american, are you?

Samantha,
Corporate America contributes to BOTH sides in an election. They’re not stupid.
You’ll readily see that the corporations you mentioned made the same or more contributions to the Republican candidates.
Corporate America buys into politics by donating money. The amount they invest is returned a thousand fold.
They have to warm up to both sides because inevitably one will win and they need the favors their contributions buy.

Palin has never been to Russia. She’s never demonstrated any expertise on U.S. policy toward Russia. She doesn’t have any background in international relations at any level. But for Republicans, the fact that she’s lived in a state near Russia is somehow a qualification for national office. She’s like McBush, to hear the neo-cons talk, being in a prison is qualification for president, “my friends”.

In Obama’s stump speech during the long campaign leading up to the Iowa Democratic presidential caucus, the Maytag workers of Galesburg, Illinois played a central role. Obama repeatedly told the story of how their jobs had been shipped to Mexico. “It is a ready applause line, for the Illinois presidential hopeful,” Chicago Tribune reporter Bob Secter noted four days before the Super Tuesday Primaries, “one that he has been reciting almost verbatim since he was a candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2004, when appliance giant Maytag was in the process of shutting a refrigerator plant [in Galesburg], putting 1,600 people out of work.” Obama was trying to steal John Edwards’ laborite thunder in Iowa by inveighing against mean-spirited corporations who used trade pacts to replace highly paid union workers with cheaper labor abroad
Despite Obama’s claims of deep concern for Galesburg’s proletarian victims, however, Maytag union members told Secter that Obama had done remarkably little to save the Galesburg workers’ jobs. Those workers belonged to the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, whose president noted that “Obama’s support for Maytag workers was more show than substance.”

For the last 60 years we have been told that communist countries like the People’s Republic of China, Cuba, Laos, North Korea, the USSR and Vietnam are based on totalitarianism.
Communist parties maintain themselves in power by using secret police, propaganda spread through the state-controlled media, repression of free speach, mass surveillance, and fear. They can be indetified by their limitied economic development, human rights, foreign policy, scientific progress, and environmental disregard.
Doesn’t that all sound like the republicans?

ALL politicians have to be kept a close eye on. when they arrive in washington they may be good people, but washington has a way of making even the good turn bad.

Windfall profits tax
McCain says whatever his audience wants to here. I must admit, McCain troubles me. I think he has PTSD from his time as a prisoner. He often shows the signs, “trouble concentrating, irritability, anger, poor concentration, blackouts or difficulty remembering things, increased tendency and reaction to being startled, and hypervigilance to threat”.
Do we trust this guy with the worlds most powerful military and nuclear arsenal? I don’t.

I marvel at the Republican Morons on this site. After 8 years of the “duh, uh, um” pResident you still haven’t learned your lesson. I don’t know what planet you people live on but it is not planet earth. History will prove that you supported the biggest Moron ever to occupy the Oval Office and yet you are now ready to send an older version of that same idiot to office along with his side kick, Madam Bimbo. Do you really think supporters of Hillary are going to flock to the Moron ticket just because there is a woman on it? We voted for Hillary because she is intelligent and a proven leader. It didn’t take her 6 colleges in 6 years to get her degree. Sarah Failin must have gone to the some college as Dumbya Bush. Did they read My Pet Goat for their Thesis? By the way, loved that way McNut looked last night against that Green screen. What did someone say? – he looked like cottage cheese on lime jello!

McCain and Palin’s stance on abortion is flawed. The Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision specifically says, “that neither biologists nor doctors nor theologians can agree upon the moral status of the fetus.” But there is “absolute certainty that the woman herself does have moral status, then the conservative thing to do is to protect the woman’s interests first,”
McCain and Palin’s opinion that human rights attach to a fetus at conception doesn’t deal with what to do when there is a conflict with the rights of the woman, it in essence says that a woman LOSES her rights the moment she has sex and conceives.
Maybe that’s why Palin’s daughter is HAVING the kid.

I think they’ve got the right idea; honestly, who gives a hoot about Palin – after her speech the other night, which was very well-delivered, it seems pretty clear that what you see is what you get from her. The problem is she’s got about as much depth as a piece of loose-leaf paper. Palin’s divisiveness seems to prove Obama’s point about the current state of affairs in Washington.
Anyway, the underlying problem remains Bush’s policies. It seems that McCain suddenly wants to run less on his experience and more as an agent of change. That’s a losing proposition in my humble opinion – it’s hard to run as outsider when you’ve been in Washington forever and you’re part of the incumbent party.
Posted by: MIguy | September 5, 2008, 10:16 pm 10:16 pm
They don’t talk about the issues, because they don’t believe in governmental intervention.
They want small government.
They believe the market will take care of itelf – kind of like – survival of the fittest.
They are afraid that if the government gives handouts, the people will become lazy and dependent, etc.
That’s my guess. I am not a Republican.
I like the idea of community organizing/rebuilding all across the country. It’s something new, worth trying. That’s what I look forward in your presidency. It’s unfortunate that Sarah Palin makes fun of them.

Samantha, the important concepts of pulling your own weight and not leeching off of society are alien concepts to Blacks. They realize that on their own, they will never have very much so they happily take all the welfare and other hand outs they can get even if this makes them parasites. They don’t have any qualms about stealing millions of jobs and promotions thanks to racial quotas, the last government-approved racial discrimination program.

I watched both conventions and witnessed history.
Barack Hussein Obama is smart and has a great personality but he is not believable and cannot be trusted. Obama “HOPES” we won’t notice how many times he has “CHANGED” his mind. He has based his entire campaign on lies. He has too many ties to terrorists and anti-Americans (Ayers, Rezko, Said, Farrakhan, Pfleger, Wright ['God Damn America'], etc.). If you are the leader of a country — or a business for that matter, there are no “present” votes — That’s how Obama voted most of the time. He worked 142 days in the Senate and spent the rest of the time running for president. Obama will bankrupt America — especially with his capital gains taxes. His death tax will hurt our children and grandchildren. No one is experienced on ALL issues; however, he is not experienced enough ON ANY ISSUE to run this country. Obama is unqualified and unfit to become Commander-In-Chief. In fact, his association with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, among others, would prevent him from getting the security clearance needed to enter the military as a private. HE HAS NEVER SERVED OUR COUNTRY!
Joe Biden does have political experience. If Obama wins, he will be the puppet and Biden the puppeteer (vie Bush/Cheney). The only difference is that Biden doesn’t know when to shut his mouth or turn on his filter! In the debates, Biden himself said Obama was not prepared to be President and that it wasn’t a position to “test drive”. Biden was right — we do not need a president in training! Obama knew how his own colleagues felt about his inexperience.
The Honorable John McCain has worked for our country for all of his adult life. He brings years of experience. He has proven he loves our country enough to die for us! John McCain is a Hero and true American Patriot. He has shown his integrity. He is genuine — A man that I trust. As for his choice of Sarah Palin, she has a lot of good points herself. As one Proud American, he gets my vote!
Sarah Palin is smart, accomplished, believable and likable. She brings a breath of fresh air and offers change we can believe in. She has more executive and leadership experience than any candidate. She is governor of our largest state. She crossed party lines to do what was right for Alaska and will do the same for the United States of America! PALIN IS A STRONG COMBINATION OF GRACE AND STRENGTH. I have no qualms about stating that SOME DAY, Sarah Palin will most assuredly be the first woman President of the United States!
COUNTRY FIRST! THE HONORABLE JOHN McCAIN IN 2008 !

He is connected by his own will to radicals who use profanity from a church pulpit and who bombed the Pentagon. Yet somehow he has risen in fame to national icon status by the dem party. The get lefter and more radical every election.

Just look at whose under the unbrella of Obama: Ayers, Rezko, Pastors Jeremiah and Pfleger. Now qadd the fact that Obama has a predetermined policy to cut crucial missle defense of our military. Oh and you know haow the left likes to criticize our standing with our allies….well I guarantee that Great Britain, France, Italy and all major NATO powers are praying that Obama doesn t win the election. They are trembling because they know US leadership will decline which puts more pressure on them. On the otherside Russia, Iran, and yes Alqeada are hoping for an Obama victory.

It’s very clear that Obama and his camp and followers are beginning to get scared. The RNC was a success, immersed in the issue of true “change”, and the base was extremely charged.
Obama got an 8 pt bounce in the polls after his convention, I feel McCain will get in the double digits with his bounce. It’s true, that McCain is not a great orator, but his speech last night was one of passion and from the heart. With a speech like that, you don’t have to have the polished rhetoric of Obama, because America could feel the passion, the insensity, the servitude of John McCain.

In a speech to a Selma, Alabama crowd meant to pump up his civil-rights movement authenticity and his Kennedy Camelot image, Barack Obama claimed that the Kennedy administration paid for his Kenyan father to travel to America on a student scholarship and therefore was responsible for his “very existence”. However, the first march on Selma took place on March 7, 1965. Obama would have been about three and half years old at that time. For some reason the media never did the math on this.

Debra,
Im one that believes just because one who claims to be an intellect or scholar of the law says something, It does not mean whatever comes out of their mouth is right. Scholars many times take common sense reasoning and deny it. If a judge even gets to decide when life begins we might as well bring back the holocaust. Roe vs Wade marked a point in history when the court disregarded moral conscience in its application of the law. It was arbitrary legislation from the bench.

Senator Obama kept saying I will, I will, I will, but never how he is going to bring back all those jobs back from China, or how he would force insurance to collect only $25 a month for someone whose medical cost is $50,000 a year. Or how he will bring gas prices down by using wind power that is much higher in cost. Obama makes promise after promise and not one of this promises has a rational or workable solutions. He seems to believe handing out more money for food stamps, health care for unmarried moms with babies. To me, Obama represents those who are irresponsible in their life choices and mades mistakes, going to jail, getting pg, doing drugs, dropping out of school.
Our country was established by responsible people, not socialists.
Obama did not say anything I had not heard in the last 10 months. He runs his mouth and his oppoenent runs the largest state.

Sarah Palin is going to be able to say with the facts to back it up that she fought incumbent corruption, that she has a history of energy development and that she hasn t been in governement for 35 years like the bureaucrat you are.
You are nothing more than a liberal democrat who has resided in a do nothing Congress while gas prices have risen to 4.00 a gallon. Your party has managed to do its at least half of the mess without you pointing out its failures.
im tired of your party’s gaff and criticism of Bush. At least we haven t been attacked since 9-11 and the surge worked which your side is strangely silent on. Why? Huh? Why?
McCain showed character by criticising his party and I might add alot more integrity than Obama not voting 130 times.
You are a career politician who lives on tax dollars. And how the heck did AIDS education become part of this debate?
Gas 4.00 a gallon while Harry Reid made an indifferent snide remark about it. Your whole platform is to pump as much anti-capitalist venom into the public mindset, so the people will vote Socialst.
Little man big mouth from little state. You should hear what real ordinary Americans are saying about this election. We know what the issues are we don t need wanna be elitists to tell us.

if she goes after biden like that, she is going to get the Bentsen-style smackdown. if she lists the PTA as experience again, i’m gonna have a heart attack. she should just stay to script and not be too cute; biden is a good debater and he is going to draw her into an argument that exposes her weaknesses. again, stick to the script and don’t go off the deep end.
Posted by: 1percenter | September 6, 2008, 12:54 am 12:54 am
1percenter…Biden has already lost the debate. The American people including your side are obviouly not looking at longevity in government as qualification. They want real change and leadership. Palin has a record of high achievement, taking on not PTA but incumbent big government corruption. McCain has gone against his own party to end special tax breaks gained by lobbyists and special interest. That alone is more than Biden or Obama can come up with. The volume of Biden’s voice is going to get smacked down. I think he is going to upstaged.

Samantha, I think the only thing that is going to happen by Nov $th, is your sudden realization that Obama Biden are going to lose. Because of the comments of followers like you.
One difference between our two sides is that we respect our candidates we don t worship them. We are not obsessed with gender and racial politics which confuse issues instead of bringing clarity to them. Sarah Palin has character. When her good moral decisions in her personal and professional life bring recognition to her through transparency, your side tends to become jealous and digs for irrelevency. i don t think Obama is part of this, but I believe he is going to lose because of the folowers under his umbrella who engage in it.

The reason we had such a surplus during the Clinton years was because he gutted the military. He gutted the CIA. Clinton ignored threats we were attack 3-4 times with no response. The 9-11 incident was a result of Clinton’s ineffective leadership. No the lies are on the otherside. Bush responded to legitimate intelligence wihich everyone believed. I heard Tom Dashle’s interview. The dem congress also led us into Iraq and they have the same responsibilty but no backbone except to criticize Bush.
Obama wasn t in the Senate to vote and therefore can not get credit for saying he was against it. But everyone’s so blind they can t remember this or choose not to.
TR said it, “the credit belongs to the man in the arena not the critic” obama was not in the arena but all these idiots want to give him credit. No Not this American. And Im not going to let people distort the facts with lies and insults about Bush.

McCain outfoxed the Obama camp … stole the march on Obama right after his coronation with a brilliant announcement of a relatively unknown VP.
1. Media went into a frenzy trying to covering that news less than 12 hours after the DNC Convention; firing up GOP base, Palin’s hockey / soccer mums and all.
2. Media went into another feeding frenzy trying to uncover scandals, mudsligging; firing up GOP’s social conservative base rising up to the defence of Palin’s daugther.
3. Media had a pleasant surprise on DAY 3 of Convention: Palin is really no push-over, she bites back with vengeance and lipstick !!!
Vintage McCain ~ this will be a new textbook benchmark on how you can outgun an opponent who is outspending you in campaign dollar.

Republicans say Obama lacks experience to be President!
McCain days as President: 0
Obama days as President: 0
Bush as President: 7.8 yrs. of over taxing the middle class, padding rich Texas pockets with inflated oil and gas profits, and spending $350 million dollars a day in Iraq on a war that he never should have started.
Republicans say Obama lacks judgement to be President!
McCain voted for Iraq war! He thinks our economy is just slow.
Obama voted against going into Iraq! He sees the economy as broken. He sees the 1/2 a million more people who have lost their jobs, just this year, and wants to change the Republican business as usual policies.
Republicans say Obama will raise your taxes and McCain will cut them:
The “your taxes” they are referring to are incomes taxes for people making over $2.8 million dollars a year whose taxes are the lowest percentage they have been since 1930′s.
Obama wants the rich to pay their fair share and give you a tax cut and raise the minimum wage. McCain has voted against the wage increase 17 times.
Unless you are rich or heavily invested in oil, you don’t want McCain and more Bush policies.
McCain voted against solar and wind power tax incentives to keep us dependent on the same foreign oil that funds terrorists around the globe. Bush, his family, his friends, and his state have made a fortune since the Iraq war interrupted oil supplies and of course is not seeking a solution. Now McCain is running with Gov. Palin from another state relying on oil profits. Do you think for one second they will work to find alternitive energy sources…No!!!
Whether you are Pro-Life or Pro-Choice, you deserve to be able to live in America, make a living, afford groceries and raise your family as you see fit.
I am proud of how we the people have impowered women over the last 30 years. This year has been historic for women in politics. For the first time in our lives we know a little girl can grow up to be the President of these United States.
I hope you will stand with me and support Barrack Obama and let’s make a difference. I want my sons to grow up in an America that they can be as proud of as I am. An America they can work and raise families in peace.

No, bonnie, I’m not that shallow. That’s what the LEFT is doing to Governor Palin as we speak. “Open-minded, progressive” liberal feminists, in particular. The hypocrisy is breathtaking.
I want to defeat leftist ideology that is a cancer on our republic, one that out of some idealized notion of “compassion” has grown to a point that it has totally degraded our country’s moral and economic underpinnings and threatens to destroy our childrens’ futures. I and millions like me, who form the backbone of this great country, want that cancer eradicated.
Reformers like McCain, and particularly Palin, are the first step. And the left knows it. Thus the spectacular display of hysteria and vicious personal attacks this week. Could it BE any more obvious?

A report was just released that there were more deaths over the summer in Obama’s Chicago neighborhood than in Iraq. Guess Obama’s community organizing work did not work out to well.Is it possible that B Hussein O is a kind of Chicago combination of Muqtada al-Sadr and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad?
Whereas Iran enriches uranium to weapons-grade levels to intimidate the Middle East, BHO devalues Chicago neighborhoods down to weapons grade community agitators to extort from the rest of us?

Carolina Girl,
You said:
“I have no qualms about stating that SOME DAY, Sarah Palin will most assuredly be the first woman President of the United States!”
I agree with you and I believe that’s precisely why Palin, a VP candidate, is being compared to Obama rather than McCain being compared to Obama. This is unprecedented.
Without actually saying it, the left has admitted that the next political revolution is encapsulated in the up-and-coming Governor Palin! She is in every way the TRUE CHANGE people have been yearning for.
Make no mistake. I’ve studied this woman. Palin is the type of leader who will have an amazingly POSITIVE transformational effect on our country, and mainstream Americans sense it and are rallying behind her almost instinctively. It’s amazing to watch.

OK, so because McCain was dropping bombs and killing men, women and children merely because they wanted their own government and choices in life, he’s the hero. Right.
Sure, let’s put him in office so he can reassert himself after the failure of killing innocent people in a war we should never have fought and lost horribly where he rode out the war in prison, where he belongs. This way he’ll finally be able to prove to us that he wasn’t really a coward or a failure after he was caught.
He deserves to re-live the Vietnam war in Iraq, Afghanistan and God knows where else (Iran, N.Korea) so he can finally feel like a true hero instead of the failure he really feels about himself for the horrible acts he committed in Nam. He deserves to pick a war he can finally win. Loser.
Good idea. Let’s send more American soldiers to die so McCain can re-write his own personal history. Pig.
I’m OK with that. It’s cool to kill people in other countries we don’t know who never posed any threat to us, terrorism or otherwise.
McCain, the coward, murderer and loser ’08!!!

Just a few months ago McCain was saying over and over that he was so proud that he supported the president over 90% of the time, more than almost any other senator.
And he says he is offering some sort of change.
I voted for Bush in 2000, and I was so disappointed with him that I couldn’t bring myself to vote for Kerry in 04, so I sat out. But I’m certainly not going to vote for a Bush third term.

You guys are all so polarized, no argument is going to sway your vote one way or another.
I am a true middle of the roader, and I’m still undecided. So convince me.
I like Obama because he offers real change for a country desperately in need of it. I do believe that McCain is mostly more of the same.
I like McCain because he is pro-life — which I want — and Obama is not — although Obama seems to be a man of faith too, this is an issue that is important to me.
On the other hand, if Obama keeps us out of a war that McCain does not, he could save a lot of lives that way.
Most of the other arguments are just partisan finger pointing to me.
Posted by: polarized | September 6, 2008, 9:42 am 9:42 am
The fact is that there are quite of lot voters still un-decided which way to vote … but for those who are supporting Obama and worried that Palin is eclipsing his popularity, then this sets of polls, pre-PALIN effect is something for you all to chew on :
“In its three-day rolling survey conducted Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Rasmussen Reports finds Barack Obama with only a one-point advantage over John McCain (with leaners included, two points). Two-thirds of this survey was done before Sarah Palin’s speech Wednesday night, and all of it before John McCain’s speech last night. It seems likely that when the full impact of the Republican convention has been absorbed, McCain will be ahead.
Gallup, based on interviews conducted the same three days, finds the same effect, but from a different starting point. Obama was up eight points in the Gallup poll when the Republican convention began on Tuesday; now his lead is down to four points. It seems likely that over the next few days, as the impact of the last two days of the convention is felt, the race will draw even.
So the McCain campaign is coming out of the conventions in good shape and with an energized party.”
… and this before PALIN SURGE kicking in

Everyone,
You are being duped by an imposter. My name has been hijacked (which is easy to do here). The crazy posts you see above are being written by a moron who is just trying to discredit me because he doesn’t have anything substantive to discuss and is unable to rebutt my points. It’s disgusting, but not unexpected. Not only am I not anti-gay, I’m not even a Republican, and I certainly disagree with McCain on numerous issues as you can see in my posts this past week. I haven’t even contributed to his campaign.
Think about it. If I were an operative for McCain, why the heck would I reveal my plans on a widely read board and discredit myself? Don’t be so gullible. The imposter is simply trying to shut me down, but he’ll fail.
I’ll be back to make my points but under a name.
So from here on out, if anyone sees “Jim in OH” as a poster, you know it’s not me. I’ll post this message in other places as well.

Hey, I’m contacting ABC News to see what can be done about this name hijacking issue. The psychopath that hijacked my “Jim in OH” name has hijacked others. I’m in information security. He can be traced.
I’m going to urge that they implement a name registration system like the other ABC blog and record IP information. That way, if nuts like this continue to cause problems, their IP provider can be contacted and they can be blocked.
Anyone who knows me here knows that I would never write in such a crass, outrageous way to incite others. I have a very unique writing style that looks nothing like the imposter’s, and that’s true for others here as well. This moron seems to be going back and forth hijacking different people’s names, making them seemingly attack each other. He’s a mental midget. In fact, some of the phraseology he uses is laughably sterotypical and designed to exploit to do nothing more than anger people and pit them against each other. It’s beyond the pale, but that’s where we are.
The real shame in all this is that this is a forum for the discussion of ideas. This is what makes America great in my mind. Attempts to discredit the integrity of other posters who have dissenting opinions for the sheer purpose of agitation is sick.
One thing is clear. Some Obama supporters will stop at nothing to stifle dissenting opinion of their candidate. Nothing. So just know that and question posts that look nothing like the user you’ve interacted with in the past. Everyone has a very unique style, and this idiot’s is nothing like mine. He has the intellectual capacity of rock.
I’ll likely check out for awhile or maybe post on a more secure blog. But know this, agitators. You will NOT stop dissent against your candidate. You are powerless to do it, even as you smear the rest of us.

They are obviously revealing my IP address so the impostor can readily identify me as I change names here.
ABC, this is really an unfair, leftist tactic that will not work. I am in Information Security, so I know how they are doing it.
Otherwise, if ABC wasn’t working with them, they’d never know how to spot all of my IDs here.

A more Obama-leaning CNN is officially declaring :
“According the latest CNN Poll of Polls, Obama now leads the Arizona senator by three points, 45 percent to 42 percent. Last Thursday’s Poll of Polls showed the Illinois senator up by four points, 47 percent to McCain’s 43 percent.
The latest CNN analysis of several recent surveys DOES NOT include any post Republican National Convention tallies.
“While the race appears to be tightening up a bit, it’s worth keeping in mind that we still haven’t seen any polling conducted after the Republican Convention,”
This is closer than many pundits are making it out to be … never rule out the MAVERICK / REFORMER combination

The last thing Obama needs now is a scandal on his VP …
Already the poll numbers are not looking good …
AND ..
On the international front …
With a Resurgent Russia and the likes of Medvedev today reported to be saying “THAT RUSSIA MUST BE RECKONED WITH”, AND a SURGE STRATEGY is that succeeding in IRAQ; there appears to be an unfortunate conspiracy of events that is working against OBAMA and his game plan.
On a domestic front …
On Palin. even his campaign strategist, Axelrod admitted “I can honestly say that we weren’t prepared for that,”. Obama camp is in a little disarray. Biden, a loose cannon, is relatively mute, threading carefully and hoping for surrogates to do the attack dog these days.
A New Game Plan / Plane is in order to stop this slide

Senator Obama has made hundreds of speeches of “I will”. The problem is he has never come up with a viable solution to anything. Even his pundits are saying he should define his solutions. McCain has talked about more concerns than Obama and is sincere in putting his ideas and solutions to work. Just look at how Obama, Biden and his Democratic Party has run Congress. The biggest problems came after they took over. A do-nothing congress amd do-nothing candidates on the Democratic side. The 13th senate district lost 11% of jobs while Obama was at the helm for 8 years. Some fixer.

The idea that many Republicans are comparing Palin to Obama is laughable. Let’s review: a former beauty pageant queen with a degree in communications from the University of Idaho, 1.5 years of experience as governor of a state with fewer people than Dayton, Ohio, and prior experience as Mayor of a village of 6,500 vs. a former community organizer with a law degree from Harvard who has worked as a constitutional law professor, a productive state senator in one of the largest states in the country for 8 years, and a U.S. Senator for 4 years is laughable. And, just for the record, “no experience” Obama has done the following:
Illinois State Senate:
a) Led sweeping, bipartisan ethics reform;
b) Led an effort to expand health care to 150,000 people (that’s 1/5 the size of Alaska);
c) Led an effort to pass the Earned Income Tax Credit;
Senate (and, to those who say Senator Obama has spent all of his time running for President, somehow he has also achieved the following):
a) Passed the most sweeping Congressional ethics reform in history;
b) Led a successful effort to improve the medical care provided to our noble veterans
c) Fought against so-called loyal-vet McCain to EXPAND the GI Bill so that our brave vets have a chance at a better future through education when they return home;
d) Led the fight for legislation to reduce the number of nuclear weapons in the hands of rogue states and actors (somehow more impressive than commanding the Alaska National Guard as governor of Alaska where, at best, she’s authorized to deploy them to dig Anchorage out of a big snow storm)
e) has traveled extensively internationally PRIOR to this campaign, and, at this point, has met with the leaders of most of our major allies in Europe and the Middle East;
f) Spoke out against the Iraq War when it was unpopular to challenge the Bush administration (and when Sarah Palin was still presiding over a village smaller than my high school);
h) Challenged Bush and McCain to focus on real threats to our security in Afghanistan and Al-Queda instead of costly, Bush-created threats in Iraq;
i) Developed a nuanced foreign policy based on engagement as a first principle, and force as a last option. After mocking him for arguing for the importance of engaging Iran to reduce their nuclear threat, the Bush administration is now doing just that!
Not only do Obama’s achievements stand up to those of McSame, who voted with Bush 90% of the time, they dwarf those of Palin.
Let’s review here: Former Mayor of a town of 6500 who has been Governor for 1.5 years being compared to Senator Obama, who has been in state and national office for 12 years. Senator Obama has already influenced and helped to shape domestic and international dialogue on U.S. foreign policy, and his positions have been proven right on Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran. Laughable comparison.
The Republicans are shocking in their bravado, which is why they nominated Dubya twice! People voted for Hillary Clinton because she had REAL experience and credibility, and McCain insults them by picking this neophyte. Her record of independence from the corruption of her party is admirable; her abuse of her authority to punish her ex-brother-in-law was not, and sounds awfully Karl Roveian.
Ladies and Gentleman, Sarah Palin is NO Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama has my vote. He has a better record on women’s issues than this feaux-feminist, “Trophy VP” nominee, who opposes a woman’s right to chose and saddled up with a candidate who voted against equal pay for women and the Family Leave Act. McCain picked her after meeting/SEEING her ONCE over much more experienced women like Kay Bailey Hutchinson in Texas and Elizabeth Dole in North Carolina. Those two must feel like the disabled wife whom McCain left for his current trophy wife (whom he recently offered to enter in a nude beauty contest in exchange for the the votes of some biker dudes). Women of America, this is a slap in the face. I’d rather wait until Claire McCaskill, Kathleen Sebelius, or a number of other MUCH more qualified Democratic women have their chance (and think Obama will pick one of them as his VP for his second term).

I just can’t wait until the debates. Then we’ll really see who’s ready to be President. As far as I’m concerned, all of the candidates have been reading from scripts. I want to see who can actually think on their feet and say something of substance that they actually thought of themselves.
By the way, Anna, what’s so shocking about the Republican bravado that they nominated Bush twice? If that’s shocking, then I’m even more shocked that the Democrats picked two men who sucked so much that they couldn’t beat him! Seeing Al Gore today, it’s little wonder he’s losing credibility and relevance. He’s a complete tool.

Also, Anna, will you please provide me links where I can read up on some of these supposed accomplishments of Obama? I sure haven’t heard of any of that except what Obama himself says in his mind-erasing speaches. I just want to make sure you know the difference between “voted for” and “led”.
Posted by: Brian | September 6, 2008, 2:47 pm 2:47 pm
It’s simple:
If you think we as a country are doing better under Bush than under Clinton, vote for McCain/Palin. McCain/Palin will follow the same policies as Bush at least 90% of the time.
If you think we’re worse off under Bush than Clinton vote for Obama/Biden.
There’s little more to say or squabble about.

If either candidacy team could get past the Dem/Rep b.s., then maybe something would get accomplished. Let’s face it, neither side will accomplish all that they promise, but the Obama/Biden Team is most able. I mean, come on…a “Maverick” who votes the along the majority line the far majority of the time. A governor of a state with less people than Cleveland. They’re both underqualified.
Posted by: Nate | September 6, 2008, 2:59 pm 2:59 pm
If a “Maverick” who votes along party lines 90% of the time is bad, what about a “change” agent who votes along party lines 90% of the time? Same concept to me.

Anna can’t say where she got those “facts” because they come from Moveon.org. They are totally unfounded and are as credible as “Dodging Sniper Fire in Bosnia”.
The trouble with being better off today is so many of the unwashed listen to the left wing media bash Bush every day and they believe it.
I am 10 times better off than I was under Slick Willie.
And, I don’t have to “Dodge Sniper Fire in America” because the 2nd Amendment has been restored by Bush.

Let’s all look calmly and rationally at the situation or country is in. Our economy is in tatters, the unemployment rate has skyrocketed and we’re currently involved in two wars. It’s going to take a huge amount of effort and brainpower on the part of the next administration to solve our problems and dig us out of the enormous hole George Bush has dug for us. Do you really think that a 72 year old man who graduated 5th from the bottom of his graduating class and has voted with Bush 90% of the time has a better chance to solve these monumental problems than a man who graduated Summa Cum Laude from Harvard Law School and has demonstrated a selfless desire to help the the everyday person? The crux of this election is who really is most qualified, and I’m talking about brain power, to take on the enormous 9.5 trillion(!) debt we’ve been saddled with by the Bush administration. McCain, who has said that he knows nothing about the economy, and Palin have dodged the issue of the economy and instead have chosen to engage in character assassination and push for some undefined “change” in Washington. If we are the employers and we compare their resumes, it’s clear who has the better chance to effect real change and begin to solve the enormous problems we face.

It is very telling that every Republican speech has skipped the big topics of the economy tanking, unemployment rising, the housing crisis, record number of bankruptcies, a huge federal deficit owed mainly to the Chinese, etc. and instead the Repubs talk about how the Democrats are unqualified.
Face it citizens who happen to be Republicans, your party isn’t what it used to be. From being the conservative party, your leaders are now the biggest spenders. With the presidency and the majority in Congress for six of the past 8 years they have raised our national debt to record highs with very little to show for it. They have pushed us into a pre-emptive war, going against their previous conservative nature.
We need an intelligent leader like Obama, who has spelled out workable solutions to all the issues, (viewable on his website under ‘issues’) that will not involve raising our national debt, will give tax breaks to 80% of Americans, 10% will see their taxes remain the same and only around 10% will see them go up, only to the same rate they paid under Clinton. But since those ultra-rich must be patriotic, I’m sure they won’t mind helping out their country in peril, especially since the rest of us are having a hard time just paying our bills.
Truly conservative Republicans, help your country end the control of the few greedy corporate leaders who have wrested control of our nation’s direction and vote for Obama. A nation is only as strong as all its’ citizens.

All that glitter in the O’ convention!! Did you see how well color cordinated O’ and family were? Amaizing! It must be nice to have someone to take care of all the very details for a grand presentation. As opposed to the other convention, I don’t even want to mention…They did not look together. The colors were mutted and regular. Ah, I guess I would have liked to see something different. Maybe they should have spent a little more TIME to chose a designer or hire one those ppl to do their outfits. Or maybe they buy at the outlets I go to. LOL

After watching both Conventions, I must say that the Republican Convention won on substance and appeal to all Americans. We know that Joe Biden is a part of the last eight years, and so is Obama. What are their records and what did they stand up for? They are just as disappointing as Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. McCain stands out as someone who did fight for something. Biden and Obama share some of the failures of George Bush. Leadership in the Executive Branch is important, but so is the Legislative Branch. Obama has no claim worthy of note. He spent most of his time running for President before he had built up any noteworthy experience. We have listened to all the candidates and heard where they stand on the issues. They did not need to spell out every detail at the Conventions. Personally, I could have done without the grandeur setting and the laundry list given by Obama. The Greek temple and the fireworks appeared to be just as superficial as his “words”.

Thank you Senator Joe Biden for saying exactly what we Democrats were thinking when we were watching the Republican convention. Nothing they said had anything to do with improving the economy or uplifting the middle class –the backbone of America. All they could talk about was John McCain’s military career — which is commendable — and trotting Giuliani out along with a 9/11 video. Frankly, I’ve no idea why even a Republican would want to vote for another 4 years of rising gas prices, a slumping economy, failed foreign policies. Perhaps they are out of touch with reality like their candidates….
Posted by: jado1101 | September 6, 2008, 10:40 pm 10:40 pm
Joe hit it out of the park with a Grand Slam home run today! Of course that was easy since the Republicans have provided so much ammunition.
As Joe said, “Deafening’ Republican Silence on Key Issues” which is because Republicans have no solutions. All they have is the failed policies of the Bush administration for the past eight years. Bush/McCain, McCain/Bush… no difference.
McCain voted with Bush 95% of the time. If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting. The people are fed up with the same old failed policies.

Do you idiot Democrats really not see the big picture? Guess what? The DEMOCRATIC controlled Congress is just as much to blame for the bad economy as the President! It’s CONGRESS who approves budgets and CONGRESS who sets fiscal policy. If Bush’s plans were so bad, why didn’t the worthless, spineless Democrats like Pelosi do anything about it? Because they had no plan of their own! News flash: they still don’t! Maybe Obama should stop blowing smoke and actually admit that his fiscal policies suck just as much as President Bush’s!

Joe!!! Amazing. WTF with the mole comments? Seriously, the last year years have been awesome for you people?? Wake UP! Obama’s job is NOT to fix every little thing in Washington or bring his breadth of experience to the office – LOOK what experience has been doing for us for YEARS NOW??? It will take years and years of reform and policy work across party lines to actually make that happen. His job is simply to INSPIRE people to MAKE CHANGES IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES to VOTE to have FAITH IN THE PROCESS so that we can DO THIS IN OUR OWN COMMUNITIES. THAT is the sort of change that the young people are clinging to. Because for years and years and all the years that I’ve been alive, I’ve never believed in the f’ing government – I’ve only ever believed in people in my community and local government. Watch him speak – it makes you think differently about the world and life. That is NOT something you see or hear everyday. This man is something from a history book. We haven’t had that in a long-ass time, if ever. I continue to donate, volunteer, make calls, rally communities and build support for this man. I beg you to get on board and pray to God that the wars and divisiveness ends. God bless BHO and his team. We are REALLY going to do this.

Hey Brian, you must not be paying attention. The Repubs controlled both Houses of Congress until 2006…for 6 of the last 8 years. When the Dems did take control, Bush vetoed or threatened to veto all the substantive bills that they passed including trying to control the astronomical sums for the war in Iraq. So it hasn’t been a case of a “do nothing Congress” but more a case of an obstructionist, lame duck (and I mean REALLY LAME) president.

Posted by: argh! | September 7, 2008, 10:37 am 10:37 am
You go Joe!
I would like you and the campaign to take it one step further. Please remind us where we have been and more importantly what we have lost in the last 8 years:
1. Record loss of homes in foreclosure!
2. Loss of our civil liberties by “executive orders”.
3. Loss of Habeus Corpus / Miranda rights for thousands.
4. Legitimizing torture, which John McCaine experienced himself, then reversed his stand on it, to gain political ground!!! Talk about selling your soul to the devil…
5.Loss of standing in the world.
6.The reason Russian is resuming agression in the world is because it knows America can no longer effectively fight back. We are a paper tiger.
7. Unemployment
8. Workers rights-what the heck are they?
All the Republicants have to say is Obama, an American story if there is one, a person of color, raised by a single parent, went to college, fighting for the voiceless, is a socialist and an elitist?
I am not one who uses language and even has to disguise it here but if there ever were a ” W-T-F!!” question about misplaced values and morals in this country, please tell me where that responsibility lies?
Posted by: Ginette43 | September 7, 2008, 10:58 am 10:58 am
Unfortunately, here’s still more:
- Gas prices-woah!
- Price of groceries
- Incomes fallen
- Soundbites have replaced actual dialogue.
- Homelessness has increased, greatest among women and women with children
- No healthcare for millions, including children & the elderly, who, regarless of who you are have to admit keeps them from going out and earning enough to afford….
We have become cold and arrogant fools. I included myself in that because I allowed my ego and selfish needs to override the needs of others at one time as well. My ignorance and complacency served its purpose for the neocons: It took my eyes off the life I had built for myself and allowed them to steal it from me.
Mr. Obama, Biden and whoever has a VOICE, PLEASE keep reminding people of that!

Hello??
Who is running for President, McCain or Palin? If Americans vote for McCain with the hopes that something will happen to him, so Palin can step up to the plate, well that’s just sad…
I am casting my vote for Obama because I think we need his voice, as eloquent as it is to lead us. Biden is just the icing on the cake that makes me feel that the country will be ok if for some reason and God forbid something happened to Obama… Those considering the alternative, please consider that carefully.

Look Brian, it’s simple arithmetic. Bush got us into an unnecessary war draining BILLIONS of dollars a month while he cut taxes cutting billions more in revenue. That’s two BIG minuses on the Federal Treasury and so now we’re 9.5 TRILLION dollars in debt. Meanwhile the Dems are trying to stop the bleeding where they can but Bush keeps vetoing their bills to do so. The economy was starting to tank well before 2006. Bush took Clinton’s budget surplus and immediately started building HUGE budget deficits year after year. Look it up. It’s well documented by the Congressional Budget Office. Deal with facts, man.
Don’t just spout what you hear from the AM radio talking heads.
