Biden Outlines Palin Game Plan
ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe reports: Sen. Barack Obama’s, D-Ill., running mate Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., said Wednesday that, despite the personal jabs he expects to take from Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, he will continue to focus on the big issues.
"I’m not into the small bore stuff. I don’t care whether or not she built a ‘Bridge to Nowhere.’ I don’t care if she sold a plane," Biden said at a private fundraiser in Chicago. "What I care about is, what in God’s name is she going to do -– along with John McCain -– about the thousands of people who don’t have health care, those struggling with other economic problems, and the foreign policy challenges facing the country?
"What I’m going to try to do, what I’m going to try to do very hard is to focus on the issues," he continued.
"Folks, look, I know what she’s going to try to do," Biden said. "She’s going to try to make it as personal as she can. She’s going to take a lot of straight lefts and jabs at me, she’s going to try to get me to respond, she’s going to try to get me to respond in a personal way. That’s not my style. I’m not going to do it."
Biden continued that McCain’s running mate has a "compelling initial story" and personality, and said it’s a big deal to have a woman nominated to be vice president, especially for Republicans. But he said that, eventually, the momentum will return to the Democrats’ side.
"I think you’re going to see this thing change," he said. He predicted that the change will come as Palin makes her positions known on issues like Supreme Court justices and global warming.
Biden cautioned that he doesn’t know if Palin’s alleged positions on issues, such as global warming, are true. But he criticized the United States for a lack of green jobs, "because we have an asinine [energy] policy — we have a Sarah Palin policy."
The Delaware lawmaker also stated that Gov. Jennifer Granholm of Michigan has agreed to spend four days with him to help him prepare for his vice presidential debate with Palin early next month.

On November 5, Team Obama will have to face the reality of making one fundamental BAD DECISION: the selection of Joe Biden over Hillary Clinton! Obama LOST his banner of change when he picked a senator who has been in Washington just about as long as Obama has been on earth. When he made that decision, his banner of ‘Change You Can Believe In’ flew out the window! All of a sudden, their tag used against McCain — “More of the Same” — became applicable to Obama – Biden. Obama will regret not selecting Hillary! (Think that he already does!!)

where are the answers from McCain palin
Nothing is different in anything they have said.
They yell change is coming but she takes more earmarks pre capita 10 fold to any other governor. and I haven’t heard her say they won’t take earmarks at all in alaska.
$515 per capita in alaska…
so the federal government is giving them earmarks more than anyother state and she earns a 65% approval rating (that is what it was before she was selected VP) by giving that money from all of us…back to her constituents instead of paying like the rest of us for their own infrastructure?
what are they going to change…she is not different she is just from a different place.
a different place with no answers…and no changes from what we have been doing for 8 years.

all she has done is give speeches. She has not answered ane question about any of the issues. All she is , is a token female to try to get the vote from women and if women are stupid enough to vote for her because of her gender . Don’t come crying when you loose everything that you have fought for in the past.

McSame is well married but confused and he does not understand issues facing Americans. Palin is a beauty queen and after the first euphoria, people will understand that America does not need a beauty queen, but a leader who can help to get America up and running again and help us to put food on the table, pay our health care bills, have a shelter and get our children to College. God saver America from McPalin. God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA/BINDEN08.

Obama just needs to flesh out his policy to “restore” the tax on the wealthy. Over the past eight years the wealthiest Americans have enjoyed a “Bush tax break” that hard working, middle class Americans did not get a chance to enjoy. During that time America’s budget has gone from surplus to a deficit. Someone has to pay up that deficit and, like Obama, I think it should be the people who got the big tax cut from Bush’s supply side ecomomics.
BTW- Supply side economics believes that if the wealthy get a tax cut they will create jobs. 200 million jobs created under Clinton with no tax cut. 50 million under Bush with tax cuts to the wealthy. Supply side does not work and McCain still promotes it.
I love Sarah Palin but I’m voting for Obama. Can we talk about the issues now.

Gov. Palin does not believe that humans have any influence on global warming, and does believe that evolution is “just a theory.”
She also believes that abortion should be illegal for a twelve-year-old who has been violently raped by her uncle and becomes pregnant.
This isn’t a wacko rant – she’s on record. Illegal INCLUDING cases of incest and rape.
This has nothing to do with her history or inexperience, and certainly nothing to do with her gender. Her policies are simply foolish and dangerous and would be terrible for all of us.
And she would very likely become president if John McCain does. Come on, people, be wiser than that. The country would be deeply damaged by this kind of leadership.
As for McCain, here’s what you need to know: http://rawstory.com/news/2008/McCain_temper_boiled_over_in_92_0407.html

Biden can say whatever, he is old politics and does not fit the mode of the changling. I think obama is a snake in the grass. He is totally detached from anything truly American. His and the not proud Michelle’s patriotism have always been and still are in question. His banner is to say anything at anytime to anyone that he feels will get him a vote. I truly believe that he and Michelle are closet racist that do want to damn the traditional American values and create a socialist overbearing republic from our free, great and always has been great nation. Of which McCain supporters have always been proud. The man is a total narcissist with an ego the size of Africa, to which he covets his innermost feelings. How could anyone be proud of the obamas when they are only just now proud of America? Proud now because they think they have fooled enough people to take over the nation and remodel it into their twisted vision of big brother on steroids. I could never trust a man who paints his own egotistical logo over our beloved American Flag. Obama has ascended past the politician title and thinks himself a king among men. He has more questionable acquaintances, partners and MENTORS in his past than Al Capone. None of which are proud of America. But they love living fat off the land. You can’t have it both ways. Convenient patriotism is not an American sentiment.
God Bless McCain and Palin for they are the only hope for this nation.

Palin talks bigger than than Biden, but at least she has proof that she will back it up.
Why vote for the celebrity? He promises unrealistic goals of increasing clean energy, lowering health care costs, and many others all while dramatically lowering taxes.
Now think about it … If he is going to do all this, where will he get the money? IF he gets elected – Your pockets will be empty from tax increases OR he will be a do nothing president; Just like the do nothing senator he was.

If Joe Biden is the “best VP to assist him” the Democrat Party is in the deepest possible yogurt. Obama is scared of Hillary’s popularity, and the left wing of our party is losing us yet another election. Hillary’s achievements could have gone toe-to-toe with McCain – Obama has ZERO significant legislative achievements in Illinois or in the Senate. Sorry fellow dems but my vote goes McCain/Palin in November

Sarah Palin tries to intimidate people. She has used her position time and time again to threaten jobs when people don’t see things her way.
I cannot believe how she is trying to make everything comment sexist. Republicans will do anything to win an election including lie and distort their record as well as their opponents record. This feels like “00″ and “04″ all over again but worse.

Palin is not a woman – she is a Republican. In the GOP it does not matter what gender you are, or what color you are (as long at it is not black. If you follow their selfish, pro-business, pro-wealthy, anti-freedom, gun-toting Bible-thumping cowboy politics then you, too, can run for VP, and the rest of the Republican SHEEP will follow. Baaa baaa bbaa.
I do not mind being governed by a woman some day. But Palin is no woman. She is a pawn in the GOP game plan.
Posted by: Not a GOP sheep | September 10, 2008, 8:11 am 8:11 am
You Hillary seriously need to get your head in the game. If she had gotten the nomination, the democrats would have easily lost in november for the same reason Al Gore lost in 2000. The GOP would have no trouble uniting against her. She is a divisive figure. In addition to that, by putting her own self-interests in front of that of the party by continuing to seek the nomination after it was statistically impossible for her to get it, SHE split the party. If Obama loses in November, that will be a major contributing factor.
So now you have these ‘PUMAS’ that plan to vote out of spite instead of voting on the issues… let’s say that works and McCain gets elected.. do you really think there will not be a backlash in 2012, assuming the country could stand 4 more years of neocon rule?

Of course Biden does not want to discuss charactor. The same reason Obama does not like to talk about it. Both have very questionable associations and neither has done much in their political life. What has Biden done in his many years in Washington except become more corrupt then he was when he stole other peoples writing in law school?
what issues has Obama-Biden covered? I hear a lot of talk, but no solutions. Raising taxes is not the answer. Stealing money from the people that work to give it to the people that do not is not a solution. Obama does not know anything about running an economy. He has never managed finances. He IS good at wasting money and giving it to radical groups, but nothing that benefits the larger population.
The fact remains that it is scary that we are forced to pick between Mccain and Obama. Neither are the best or brightest, but McCain has a better record and the country is much safer with him at the helm then someone who will simpathize with terrorist claim it IS America’s fault.

If he had picked Hillary, we would be neck-deep in “what bad things has Bill been doing lately” rumors. How fun would that be? I don’t think Obama regrets choosing Biden, and I don’t think he should if he loses, either.
Here’s hoping that he doesn’t… This is a very interesting read from a unique and surprising religious perspective regarding McCain’s choice of Palin. I highly recommend checking it out:

The real story here is that Obama has to fight at all. This election is supposed to be the best environment Democrats have ever had…and they’re still doing badly! polls are shifting back and forth, electoral states show a statistical tie, and McCain has barely started…
And Obama/Biden are already huffing, puffing, and slinging mud faster than they can think. Why can’t Obama close the deal? He couldn’t do it with Clinton (and needed the superdelegates to bail him out) and he’s showing he cannot do it with McCain.
He had his chances to make the moves that really would have made this campaign easy. He passed them up because of his hurt ego. This is Obama’s campaign to lose…and he’s losing it.
Thank God I didn’t vote for him.

Posted by: David in NC – David – evolution IS a theory. That’s why they call it the “Theory of evolution”. Personally – I believe in it, but it is still a scientific theory.
To Cindy: I agree with you wholeheartedly! Obama is going to win the election on the ground because we’re doing exactly as you suggested – canvassing, making calls, donating our time and money, registering voters. I ran a small phone bank Sunday, organized some volunteers last night, will register voters tonight, have a house meeting on Saturday and plan to canvass on Sunday – and there are a LOT more like me here in Ohio. McCain doesn’t have the organization that Obama has and for that, he will lose.
Obama’s doing fine. He needs to make sure he concentrates on McCain and let Biden worry about Palin. Heck – I think they should stop referring to her by name, just the “GOP VP Candidate”. That’ll help in the perception mindset.
As for the Karl Rove tactics you mentioned, they’re being used because Karl Rove is actually working for the campaign. Has been for a while according to the news last night.

Keeps giving the same speech over and over again. I guess she feels if its a hit stay with it. OR maybe it is the six years and six different colleges she went to in order to earn a four-year degree exposing her intellect or lack there of. She’s cute, can deliver a scripted one liner (oh boy has she ever- over and over again) but she’s not bright. She holds nothing but a four-year bachelor’s degree and it took her six years to get that.

What Obama and the Democratic campaign seem to have forgotten is that elections are never won or lost on the issues – they are won and lost by how well the candidates resonate with the American people. People vote with their gut for the candidate they connect with the best, and by choosing Biden, Obama created a ticket that doesn’t represent change, nor does it inspire the American people with any kind of real energy or vibrancy. The tide has turned and the Obama will slowly but steadily lose support from now until the election.

Plugs doesn’t want to talk about the bridge “to nowhere” anymore. Why?
Sarah Palin originally supported the earmark spending on the Ketchikan link, but then killed the project after congress screwed it up, chosing to spend Federal money on infrasture that the Alaskan people needed.
However, Biden and Obama voted for funding the Bridge, even when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn who proposed changing the earmark to support Katrina relief.
So, Biden and Obama voted for the ‘bridge to nowhere’, then voted against cancelling the ‘bridge to nowhere’. They really wanted that bridge rather than support Katrina relief efforts.

There are exactly two ways a twelve year old girl can get pregnant – rape and immaculate conception. A twelve year old girl can’t have consensual sex.
While we’re on the topic of abortion, what about their opponent’s position that the by-product of a botched late-term abortion, once outside the womb and breathing on his/her own ISN’T entitled to healthcare. Correction “rural americans”
Palin = Successful earmark expert
Sarah Palin represents the things we as a country want to move away from. That is, the federal government favoring a state, however small in population because they have a powerful senator who knows how to steer money to that state.
There are fewer people in that state than in the city of San Diego. I would suspect that the mayor of New York commands more police officers than their National Guard.
This is a good state to use for training but this should by no means be compared to being the governor of California or Georgia.
Finally, Sarah seems to assert things that she knows aren’t true about herself and her opponents. Show knows what happened to the bridge to nowhere, that she got the money and gives herself the credit for killing the project at the same time. He success will rely on the ignorance of the American people.
So far, I am not impressed. We will see the substance of her arguments when she submits to interviews and debates.

10 Ways in Which, For Women, Sarah Palin Is *Exactly* Like George W. Bush
1) Like Bush, she is completely against a woman’s right to choose (in fact, she exceeds Bush in that she is against a woman’s right to choose even in cases of rape or incest;
2) Like Bush, she opposes stem cell research to prevent fatal diseases in men, women and children;
3) Like Bush, supports the teaching of Creationism alongside Evolution in public schools;
4) Like Bush, does not believe that Global Warming is man made;
5) Like Bush, has supported abstinence-only sex education methods that have proven ineffective;
6) Like Bush, has virtually no foreign policy experience prior to running for national office–(in Palin’s case, despite a 72-year old, chronically ill running mate)
7) Like Bush, has engaged in conduct that has resulted in current government investigation of her actions;
8) Like Bush, has made statements which indicate lack of knowledge of basic elements of the office they are running for (Palin, July 2008: “What exactly does the Vice President do everyday?”);
9) Like Bush, has been sequestered to prevent her being asked questions that she has not yet been prepared to answer;
10) Like Bush, talks like a reformer–yet in her actions (i.e., relying on lobbying, supporting the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it) acts in the most typical, all-too-familiar fashion.

Sarah Palin does not believe in evolution, which means she does not believe in science or the scientific method. Yet we need new technology, which is based on science, to help solve the energy crisis and global warming. Of course, she also doesn’t believe human activity is causing global warming.
Given her positions on abortion and sex education, she is step back to the 19th century for all women. The same for gay rights.

Dear Just Plain Americans,
Please vote for my husband George. He will help make America America again. He will not make African America nor will will continue to make it Mexican America. He will focus on American issues and promises not to cut down any Cherry trees again. Look where “Diversity” has led you! Diversity means seperation. Amercians should be Americans. The rest should leave.
God Bless America! Can I still say that?

I will tell you what “some people’s problem is”.
8 years ago, I was fresh out of college. In the eight years since, I have worked hard, changed jobs three times, gotten married, had 2 children and purchased my first home. I, and my family, have medical insurance that I pay for- not my government.
In other words, the last eight years have been GREAT for me. When my first job got shipped overseas, I got a different job and worked hard- and was rewarded. That experience led me to another job that paid more and will give me the experience I need to move up again in the future.
The economy is not as great as it was in 98. It is also far from a recession. And statistics show that America is doing well compared to other countries the past 8 years. This is not an “American” slump- this is a world slump. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122039890722392873.html?mod=rss_opinion_main
The price we pay for being addicted to oil and having a global economy.
Stop waiting for your government to save you. Buy what you can afford. Save what you can. Improve yourself and move up in the world. The government is NOT your mother!

Those of you that talk about Obama being racist, having questionable ties,he is a muslim etc etc. Stop watching Fox News. It is NOT real news. They have to print more retractions than any other “news channel”. Sean Hannity and Bill O’reilly are not journalists.
If you really want to go there, speaking of racist see how McCain voted on the rebel flag in SC, how he voted on MLK holiday, speaking of questionable ties- can you say Keating Scandal?, and religion- check out Palins former church- she said the Iraq war was gods will, and an infrastructure was gods will. There are proven facts about these things with republicans- it is all on video tape. Every time you make this stuff up on democrats you have no proof, its just more republican lies, smears and hot air.

I just love the hypocrisy being generated by Johnny’s camp. They can be nasty, Obama can’t. THEY can decry ‘rock star’ status, but it’s okay when it’s them. They can twist and lie and flip and flop and then whine like a pinched baby when someone calls them on it. Grow up.

Proud Republican, why are you so protective of the fetus, but your obligation to the child stops once it is born? You are against feeding and clothing those born into need, but feel you can tell a woman what she HAS to do and bear after the child is born. You are a hypocrite, the worse type of human I can imagine…

No Norman, they obviously thought that the Katrina Relief Efforts were doing fine without the extra $200M+ dollars they wanted to spend on the ‘Bridge to Nowhere’.

“Biden cautioned that he doesn’t know if Palin’s alleged positions on issues such as global warming are true.”
“She’s going to try to make it as personal as she can. She’s going to take a lot of straight lefts and jabs at me, she’s going to try to get me to respond, she’s going to try to get me to respond in a personal way. That’s not my style. I’m not going to do it.”
“because we have an asinine [energy] policy – we have a Sarah Palin policy.”
Is anybody else amazed by these three statements appearing together in one article and all attributed to the same guy?

I am speechless with disbelief at how many people claim strong support for Palin. Why?? What do you know about her, other than that she’s supposedly typically middle class average American and gave one speech and appears to have a nice spunky personality? Is “spunk” the only qualification for the second highest office in the land?
If you support McCain, fine; you can base your support on his record and his policy statements. To be so EXCITED about Sarah Palin is like trying a new ice cream flavor and then declaring it the greatest food ever created by mankind. It may well be, but how the heck do you know after just one taste?
Once again, as with the re-election of GW Bush, this proves that one can never underestimate the shallowness and stupidity of American voters.

Can’t we be civil? No one has all of the answers to our problems not Oboma and not McCain. All of us want something from the government without wanting to give something. I know people who can afford to buy their own health insurance but prefer to spend the money on second and third cars, big homes, tickets to football games, etc. I know people in my own family who feel that way. Don’t you? I know people who could send their children to college if they began saving when the child was born like my husband and I did. No one wants to save for the future any more. Again, we all want someone else’s money to pay for what we want. Let’s get real about this.

Obama needed additional foreign policy experience to round out his ticket; Biden is an excellent choice, he has been a senate expert in foreign policy for years.
McCain needed to bolster the conservative, right-wing evangelical base of the republican party to even have a chance of winning. So he picked a hard-core evangelical: no abortion unless you are dying due to pregnancy; no gay rights of any kind; no sex-education in schools; no need to address global warming. She has limited experience (20 months) as governor of a state with a huge surplus, some of it due to earmarks; how hard is that job?

Gawd I was doing back flips when Obammy chose Hairplug Joe. He is, was, and always will be a LOOOOOOOser. If he had picked Hitlery, I would have been worried.
Now, back to the most amazing thing I have seen in 28 years – SARAH PALIN!!!!!
Sure, she did earmarks for Alaska, kept the bridge money, and did other things to promote Alaska. Hey, NUMNUTS!!! She IS the guvnor of Alaska!!! Her job was to improve that state, not help the whackos in La La Land. Therefore, she did a damn good job.
You want her to jump up and face the left wing talking heads RIGHT NOW? Who have been doing this since she was wearing bloomers? Can you see Blabber Mouth Matthews? He would ask her a question, 3 times, then before she can answer he would cut to a commercial. They ALL are like that. Face Dirtbag Noberman?
Give her a little practice first, let her get her feet wet.
After all, can any of you out debate ME here without some practice? Never.

Palin says a whole lot of nothing. She’s mouthing slogans and not discussing issues. She’s spinning her experience to make it look like she’s something she’s not. She takes an enormous amount of earmarks then says she’s against earmarks. She’s a bully. As the new mayor, she asks for the resignation of every one of Wasilla’s town management and then “gives” their jobs back saying it was a “loyalty test”. For pity sake people, she’s bate and switch. It’s the oldest con in the book!

This is too much! We can’t elect someone just because we like the way they look!

“ass-inine”?
Not Biden’s style for personal attacks?
The Palin policy looks like a pretty good policy to me. I guess Biden doesn’t like the fact that the oil companies give back $12-1500 to each tax paying citizen of the state of Alaska. Where’s the “ass-inine” in that policy Mr. Biden? And what is the Obama-Biden policy? Oh, no mention of specifics there, another hypocritical sound bite, no substance just the right words at the right time. It’s more of the same. It doesn’t matter about substance to Obama & Biden, just that you say the right words at the right time while doing the exact opposite in reality. No absolute truth with Obama & Biden, just what’s relevant for today.

Lets be focus, what we need is a greener planet (weather can no hold it anymore), not dependency of petroleum (our pockets are about to get broken), support to the small business (who gave more jobs), no more war- and reconstruction with not sense (so tax-money don’t go to the never-land).

Palin = change? are you kidding? WHY? Pleae give me an example of a policy that will be change?
She wants to change the fact that polar bears are endangered. So killing polar bears is change?
She wants to change the right of a women to choose what is best for her body. So less American freedom, is that the change you want?
She wants to drill for oil when everyone knows that just drilling will not help Americans, just the oil companies. So giving more profit to oil companies is change?
The only change in the McCain campaign is the change from sneaky pandering from “right in your face” pandering.

The top 10% also control 90% of the wealth in this country. If we were really interested in everyone paying their fair share, we would go to a consumption-based tax (ie Fair Tax), but since we as a nation dont seem to be, perhaps the tax burden of an individual should be more directly proportionate to the amount of wealth they control.

You lap dog liberals continue to repeat the sound bites that are fed to you by the democratic campaign machine. Here’s an eye-opener for you … the congress, both houses, (for you patriotic folks that watch MTV and didn’t take Civics – they make the laws and determine budget appropriations) are controlled by the Democrats. This is their economy. All Pelosi and Reid can do is demoralize the military, oppose drilling, and slam Bush. Why haven’t they served the American people? Most people in this country really do want the partisan crap to end and “Put America First”. Joe Lieberman put it very well at the republican convention and the dems piled on him immediately. With the dems it seems to always be party first. You can’t be helped until you recognize you have a problem.

Fear, sex, violence and personal interest…This is the coin of the RNC. Ok let’s put it in their language. Let’s elect an 82 year old man and if he dies in office (God forbid) we can have a president with a pretty face and little experience with a dangerously fallable record. If there is a real emergency, she will know how to skin a Moose.

I wish you libs would at least get the facts right about Palin. Everything you are saying is WRONG! Look it up….just like the ones about Obama that were not true. Palin has never tried to push her religion in the state of Alaska…ever. All this “leaves the state in debt” stuff is bull. An arena was built with a mortgage on it. How many of you pay cash for your house? That Arena will bring in revenue for years to come.
Obama is not ready to be President. He is too inexperienced. I am not going to say horrible things about him either. I think he is a decent guy who needs more years in the political arena. Taxing those “rich” people to pay for his plans…..that would be us small business owners. What will we have to do? Cut jobs and benefits. Great plan.

Does McCain know how to deal w/ the nuclear waste he proposes to generate without wiping out all the vertebrates on the planet? He and Palin have a history of ignoring and even surpressing basic facts on environmental issues. The America lost its best wind and solar development companies to Denmark and Germany because of republican voting aginst tax credit extensions for alternative energy research. Be a big world power and have sustainable economic growth… corner the market on wind, solar and hydrogen power, (there’s no such thing as “clean coal” Palin). We need smart people to shape energy and environmental policy if we want a future.
Posted by: Duane | September 10, 2008, 8:45 am 8:45 am
What is Biden trying to say when he said “…because we have an asinine [energy] policy – we have a Sarah Palin policy.”?
Sarah Palin’s RNC speech on Energy
1.I fought to bring about the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history.
And when that deal was struck, we began a nearly forty billion dollar natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence.
2. Our opponents say, again and again, that drilling will not solve all of America’s energy problems — as if we all didn’t know that already.
But the fact that drilling won’t solve every problem is no excuse to do nothing at all.
Starting in January, in a McCain-Palin administration, we’re going to lay more pipelines … build more new-clear plants … create jobs with clean coal … and move forward on solar, wind, geothermal and other alternative sources.
We need American energy resources, brought to you by American ingenuity, and produced by American workers. I’ve noticed a pattern with our opponent.

I like the way you think but I don’t like the “fair tax” because it just taxes comsumption. It does not tax income or capital gains and it does not tax barter. There are ways around it. I think it will generate less revenue. But we’re talking issues and that’s a no-no this election.
But some one needs to say why taxes are important. They fund federal prisons, roads, our space program, bridges, law enforcement, military, education and a host of other things. I know taxes are not popular but I love America and I think this country gives me a big bang for my tax buck. We can battle tax abuse and wasteful spending, but I’m paying a part for our efforts in Iran, the trips to mars and I’m paying to keep thugs off the street– not too bad for a working class joe. I don’t mind taxes- just don’t over do it.

So when white men are helping other white men, is that also offensive? Because that is everday life. It is amazing how offended you get when you are not the object of attention. White men have been helping white men, for hundreds of years but I don’t see you being outraged about that. If you read his book, which I seriously doubt, it talks about his mother, grandmother in great detail, is is actually mostly about them, you are making yourself look foolish. It seems like a lot of folks are afraid of a black man being in office because you are afraid of being the outcast and ignored like black people have been treated for the last 200 years. Stop showing your racist views.

why is it ok to expose women to the danger of, and cause the death and/or mutilation of women who will get abortions (always have, always will), but not ok to use birth control, the morning after pill, and safe abortions?
This is what I’ve never understood. And how many anti-legal/safe abortion advocates have become foster parents or adopted the many, many, many, children lost in the system? If you are going to be anti something, one whould think you need to be pro something else. Like taxes to pay for the care of all the lost children, or providing loving homes for them. I can’t believe we are still fighting about this. How is lack of legal abortions going to save our country?

Sorry, Hillary never had any achievements other than using Bill’s name to get herself elected senator.
It’s funny to hear McCain supporters claim he loves this country so much also considering he has supported the Patriot Act & ignoring the Geneva convention, thus ignoring the constitution & the idea that America is supposed to be an example. From the IRS for 2006 (latest figures available), which is 3 years after the “big Bush tax break”:
“The top-earning 25 percent of taxpayers (AGI over $64,702) earned 68.2 percent of the nation’s income, but they paid more than four out of every five dollars collected by the federal income tax (86.3 percent). The top 1 percent of taxpayers (AGI over $388,806) earned approximately 22.1 percent of the nation’s income, yet paid 39.9 percent of all federal income taxes.”
The top 1 percent of tax returns paid about the same amount of federal individual income taxes as the bottom 95 percent of tax returns.
Obama only has one place to go to pay for his programs … if you have an AGI over $65k he is going to redistribute your wealth even more than it is today.

I am a republican who is Pro Choice. No one can agree with every issue from a candidate. I like Sarah because she is a strong woman who has successfully run a town, the largest state in the country (11 Billion dollar budget and 29,000 employees) and is also a wife and mother. She comes from a middle class family and still lives the middle class life. Not one of you has even given her a chance….for goodness sakes, it hasn’t even been 2 weeks yet!

All around this country, blacks have been elected to office by voting constituents that were predominantly white. I would like to think that this was based on their abilities (except for Kuame in Detroit). This shows me that racism is dying a well deserved death in this country. But now, it seems to be a given that blacks have to vote for Obama simply because he’s black. If they don’t, they are traitors to their race. This folks… is the epitome of racism!

Democracy is about the freedom of choice. I am looking for a president and vp that offer me the most choices in my life. Choice in meaningful work, at a fair wage; economic freedom to save, to provide for my family’s food, shelter, education, old age; choices on how to live without damaging the environment; choices to maintain good health; choice to hold a different opinion and respect others; choice to belong and contribute to my community.
I found Palin’s speech was based on the belittling of anyone the doesn’t agree with her, not on a leadership to offer me choice. Her strength is based on having an enemy to put down. Bush has led this country by playing on a fear of others, a greed that their is not enough so we have to grab everything we can get, and lies. My choices have been limited by the last 8 years- economically, environmentally, in health, in US’s role in the world. I am not interested in more leadership that is based on dismissiveness and uses me to benefit themselves. Obama/ Biden seem to offer the best hope of leadership that balances interests to allow me to again make my choices. My vote is for a government that gives us choice. In 2008 it is Obama/ Biden.

Hey T/C in VA, Why does a race thing come up all the time? Libarals are obsessed with racism. There are black presidents all over Africa – nothing new here. Race has nothing to do with anything! I don’t care what colour a candidate is (purple with green spots will be OK) as long as he/she really loves this country and is against socialism.

Palin promotes general after he changes his stance on her experience
Last Wednesday, Maj. Gen. Craig Campbell suggested to the Boston Globe that Gov. Sarah Palin’s role as commander of the state’s National Guard was largely ceremonial, thus blunting attempts by the McCain campaign to assert she had foreign policy experience

“Tim, you have as much brains as a pig wearing lipstick.
Change. The “community organ grinder” used the word change but by picking Obiden he shot his wad. Obiden has one foot in the grave.
YOU, here in your Madison Ave appartment, know more about Polar Bears than someone who walked among them? I think she knows a bit more about wildlife, the enviromnent, and conservation than someone dumb enough to listen to millionaire Gore.
Woman choose what’s right for HER body? How about letting a poor, defenseless baby get to choose too? You liberals are so rightous, want death row killers to walk free, but a baby? Uhh, just kill them.
Anyone with at least a 2nd grade education, sorry if that lets some of you out, KNOWS supply and demand economics. We increase the supply, the demand goes down, the PRICE drops. Got it, kiddies?
Pandering? The democrats wrote the book on it.
Palin – 08″
So you start off with an insult. Great way to start off by proven you weak minded and can only fight with insults instead of facts.
Biden will be a great VP, with years of experience, and the mentality to fight with truth and not fiction.
The fact is polar bears are dying off. They are endangered. Sarah Palin doesn’t walk among bears. If you watch Discovery channel, national geographic, or the science channel instead of american idol you might understand that.
Lets make abortion illegal, take away a woman’s right to choose, and we can also take away freedom of speech so i don’t have to listen to idiots try and explain how their way of life is better then mine. I do not like abortion, but I HATE when someone is telling me what is goof for me. I am an American, and if you try and tell me what is good for me, I will die for my freedom.
All of you economic knowledge must have been from the 2nd grade. If our oil supplies are 2% of what the world produces, then the prices will DROP BY ONLY 2%. So yes, gas will fall by EIGHT CENTS A GALLON.
If you actually do research you WOULD KNOW THAT REPUBLICANS ARE CURRENTLY FIGHTING A BILL THAT WOULD ALLOW DRILLING FOR OIL. The bill, that was created by a group of 10 senators, 5 repub and 5 dem(bipartisan), who want to drill in new offshore spots, force oil companies to use the land they have or lose it, and INVEST IN RENEWABLES.
If you have a 2nd grade education you would understand that if you get 2% more energy IS NOT EQUAL to being 100% energy independent.
You are a fool.

Sorry, if we had the Patriot Act in 2001 there might be 3,000 alive Americans today. Thank you Slick Willie.
The Geneva Convention? So, you want to allow terrorists who kill women and children the right to American trials? So a slick lawyer can get them off to kill you? Sorry. We capture them, we torture them to save YOUR life, then we hang them. NO fair trials. No 9/11′s.

Just as a side note CNN pointed out that Sarah Palin actually increased special needs funds by 300% while she was in office. Please do your fact checks before you repeat what you read in a blog. Democrats are imploding and it is HILARIOUS to watch.. They will lose the election because they preach of how horrible we are and how they will change it while the republicans preach to how great america is and how much better we can be.
PS- Quick question what actual fact backs up that Mccain voted the same as Bush 90% of the time when the president doesnt actual vote. Dem’s drinking that koolaid… Any why doesnt the press talk about how Obama seems to make friends with felons, racists, and terrorists.. Great choice for president DEM’s!

You are wrong again. Obama reverses the take breaks on those earning $250,000 or more. Personally, I think the reversal should start at $1 million. I know a lot of hard working people earning around $250,000 (jointly). Many doctors can hit that mark. I think it’s too low. But McCain has to cut programs to balance his tax-free budget. What gets cut- road building and repair, public education, what? He wants to privatize everything. That would mean the rich will afford good schools and the working class will only afford poorer quality schools. Without an even access to quality public education, American becomes a class-stratified society. That’s just what the founding fathers left behind in Europe.

I can live without that. Why not just sit her down in the studio and let her answer some questions about her stands on policies and issues? This week’s interview will be a P.R. setup- a get to know Sarah and see her ship her son off. We can all weep together.

Just a quick reality check -
When you encourage EVERYONE to vote, the majority of voters will be largely uninformed and vote on superficial grounds. The winner will be he (or she, I guess) who radiates the most personal appeal.
For quite some time now, Obama seemed to have the election in the bag, but not because of his position on the issues. He had far and away the most personal appeal. Sarah Palin has put a dent in it because she, too, has a lot of personal appeal. She’s an attractive woman and a mother who is cheerfully coping with some of the biggest family challenges mothers have to face.
Attacking her stand on the issues will make little to no difference.

2006 Income Tax Revenue: $1,024 billion”
Two Questions: Who made up the increase if the wealthiest Americans got a tax break? And, if 2002 was a budget surplus why is 2006 a deficit with more revenue collected and conservatives in charge of the government?

The republicans do not want to pass the offshore oil bill because not only does it allow offshore drilling but it:
1) forces oil companies to use the land that American has leased them, or give the land back. Oil companies want as much land and money as then can get, and repubs will do whatever will make the oil companies happy.
2) Provides billions in incentives for renewable energy research and production. Something that may compete with oil companies, lower gas prices, and make pil comapnies lose money. Obviously repubs don’t like this.
So in a nut shell, Republicans want to drill for oil only, because it will make the oil companies money and will not make American independent.
Democrats want to drill and research renewables for a better chance and becoming independent, but can’t pass the bill because republicans want only the oil companies to make money.

Try thinking for yourself for a change…or maybe that’s just not possible. Continue to follow her (as you did the mean girl in high school) and see where that gets you. By the way the mean girl forgot about you the day you graduated high school, just as Palin will when she’s VP if elected. You will see your job go away due to high unemployment and their lack of concern for the average american and global warming will get to the point that our climate will be so bad we willsoon be at the point of no return to help it. But she doesn’t think humans are causing it. That’s sound thinking. Also, gas prices will increase as they have the past 8 years and as she is “in” with the oil industry. Forget the economy…John McCain has done NOTHING to help keep the budget balanced, as it was when “W” took office. Wake up you narrow minded fools.

THINK: Nobody can buy Obama’s claim that he will only increase taxes on a few rich people and give the rest of us tax cuts – the bottom 50% of wage earners barely pay taxes. He HAS TO hit the middle class to pay for ANYTHING. Realize that his platform programs and tax-cut promises come to a trillion dollars and that his tax increases represent only one-tenth as much. Everyone who pays taxes will end up paying more if Obama is elected. The question will be: Is it worth it?

Welcome, Doug, a true black American????
You are correct, I pay nothing, I am retired. I PAID my dues while you were still sh*tting yellow. Serving in the Marines, working full time jobs.
And, thanks to George Bush, my taxes are zero, my medical is zero. Can I say it again, Obammabots? THANK YOU George Bush.
Tell me Obammabots, IF the “Community Organ Grinder” gets in, will I still pay zero taxes and have zero medical payments?
Don’t all snort and grunt at the same time.

Sounds like Biden’s reading from the Obama teleprompter – “They’re gonna tell you I have a funny name…I don’t look like those guys on the dollar bill…” Biden – “I know what she’s gonna say…she’s gonna make it personal…”
Fact is, team Obama is testing the fear tactics again. They can’t beat a relative unknown. McCain figured out that the best way to challenge Obama is to pick Obama 2.0 – with less skeletons and broader appeal. On top of that, she ain’t at the top of the ticket. Shouldn’t be about her. But, gosh, these guys can’t shake her from their minds.
I’m looking forward to a post-election shot of Obama standing in an empty hall, with his campaign signs littering the floor and a look of bewilderment on his face.

LARRYMAN,
I’VE ALREADY PROVED YOU ARE AN IDIOT. So SHUT THE FUCH UP.
You want to toture terrorists, but the CONSTITUTION SAYS, “ALL men are crated equal.” So you are WRONG, or at least you are NOT AMERICAN.
You want to drill for oil and you explain that supply and demand will make gas prices lower. You are right to a point, “HOW MUCH LOWER?” is the question that you DO NOT understand.
THE ANSWER IS 2% LOWER. AMERICA WILL BE 2% LESS DEPENDENT ON FOREIGN OIL. YOU ARE A MORON IF YOU THINK 2% WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Like the rest of the repubs, if you do not get your way you fuch it up for the rest of us. DEMOCRATS WANT TO PASS A BILL THAT LETS OIL COMPANIES DRILL OFFSHORE. Why are the republicans blocking it? PLEASE EXPLAIN THAT, if you want to prove to me that youi KNOW ANYTHING WORTH READING ABOUT.
I can not beleive that I explained facts to you, with math, and you still do not understand that if the supply goes up 2% and the demand stays the same, the prices go down 2%. Did you take 2nd grade math?

Please explain to everyone how a National Debt which 28 years ago was a mere 960 Billion, which today is 979 Trillion dollars, wasn’t the responsibility of three Republican Presidents and for the largest part a Republican Congress and Senate. Remember only 8 of those years between 1080 & 2008 were the Clinton years then only time period the National Debt started to get paid down ujntil the Village idiot was elected and the borrowing skyrocketed to fund your presious tax cuts.

“Let us make the frenzied media assault our WAKE UP CALL that if we do not take action now we will lose this election. Let the attacks of the elite media on this special woman be constantly remembered and rally us to victory.
Many (especially older voters) are fooled by the supposedly unbiased anchors. When we listen to the elite media and see their comments. These are the people who vetted Obama with the same tenacity as a mother vetting her child. In contrast we all watched as the elite media salivated like wolves snarling and slashing at the Governor and her little daughter before Governor Palin’s speech. Then immediately after the speech (when they had gathered the entire pack for the vetting kill of “this woman”), we saw fear on their faces. They had that undeniable acute depressive look of a bad cop caught with his hand on the throat of an innocent woman.
Some in the media had the integrity to apologize and some (like Olberman and Mathews were fired but others (like the Cooper CNN crowd) are unrepentant and now they are reuniting the pack. Like herd out of a Thomas Kuhn novel they are intellectuality rationalizing their abhorrent behavior and reforming as would a clutch of corrupt policemen.
The pundits on both sides are excused –they admit their bias but these “Journalists” are like a doctor who prescribes you a drug without telling you he/she is getting a kickback! For all those professionals who use the public trust to advance their own agenda— the Olberman firing is your wake up call–that one is for you!!
We must recognize that the founders of America never planned for a biased media with a stranglehold on most of the news America reads and sees. The field is unbalanced yet we must win, in part because those who unbalanced this election must not be allowed to prevail. All of us must dig deeper to support Senator McCain and Gov. Palin. Get involved NOW and/or send as much as you can afford NOW –The media is doing their best to elect their chosen one –lets all do our part ASAP. Dealing with Media bias is like dealing with a corrupt police force –they will always self justify. They will not fix themselves. Go to the McCain site and get involved and/o donate as much as you can afford today. Let’s get America back and show for all of history that in America the media cannot anoint our leaders.

Why has Sarah Palin been stifled since the convention? Her convention speech was written for her, and since then, in each campaign stop, she has read the same speech verbatim. Does she have a brain? Are her handlers afraid she might say something stupid? Maybe we’ll witness her brilliance tonight with Charlie Gibson on ABC. Maybe we won’t.

The news daily never ceases to amaze me.There are still Hillary backers that are whinning, you all talk abt punishing Obama how sad. That is indeed if they are not Rep plants on the blog which also wouldn’t surprise me. Hillary lost, i think it’s time for all of you to put your big girl panties on and move on. She will run again and I truly feel it is in your best interest not to be so hostile against Obama you will need his supporters next time and if the hostility grows again she could loose I think it’s time we start acting like grownups. As far as Palin goes i have heard nothing from her of importance other than bashing the other side. The Rep are the whinner’s here they can sure give it, but can’t take a hit doesn’t say much abt their strength. To me they are nothing more than a bunch of bullies in the playground what the other side truly needs to do is throw one good punch the Keating 5 could do that, playing fair just can’t be done with these jerks who call themselves change people. The only change in their campain will be their daily change of underware if they even do that.

Energy Crisis:
Repubs want offshore drilling, but not if the bill includes making oil companies use the land they have or give it back. They also do not want drilling if the bill inlcudes renewables.
IS IT NOT OBVIOUS THAT REPUBLICANS DO NOT CARE ABOUT AMERICAN ENERGY INDEPENDENCE? They think that 2% more oil will somehow make a difference. They are fighting solar/wind power tooth and nail at the same time.
Looks to me like they say they want energy independence, but what they really want is more Oil Company Control over America. Why else would they not want to break the monopoly of energy by creating new energy sources?
IF YOU THINK THAT AMERICA SHOULD BE ENERGY INDEPENDENT, TAKE A HARD LOOK AT WHAT THE REPUBLICANS ACTAULLY WANT TO DO. I BET YOU WILL BE SURPRISED.

In two weeks we’ve seen enough. Palin won her first election with a TOTAL of 600 votes. That’s a total not a margin of victory. She won the second term as moyor with a total of 909 votes. She holds nothing but a bachelor’s degree. She runs the largest state with the smallest population- smaller than Chicago. So small the governor worked to her brother-in-law fired because he was a bad guy. She also charged the state for time she spent at home.
What makes her VP material?
There are a great number of bright women in America. Palin’s not at the top of list for brains. Obama is.

See, you are WRONG.
Obama has repeaditly said that he SUPPORTS Nuclear Power as long as we first determine what to do with the nuclear was that will ruin miles of earth for thousands of years if not handled properly.
Obama also supports the bill that is currently being pressed in the Senate that ALLOWS offshore drilling in the GULF OF MEXICO as long as it also supplies RESEARCH FUNDING for renewables.
McCain and the republicans are against this bill, and therefore either against offshore drilling of against renewable energy. Either way, THE REPUBLICANS OBVIOUSLY ARE AGAINST ENERGY INDEPENDENCE. Why else would then stump this bill?

Yes, Peggy, I do believe Obama is the better candidate. What he may lack in experience he makes up for in better judgment. Bush had a lot of experience and look where that got us. McCain’s first decision in picking a running mate shows he lacks what it takes to due his homework and pick someone ready to takeover on day one in his absence. If Palin isn’t ready to talk to the media, she isn’t ready to stand up to Kim Jong Il or Putin or anyone else. John McCain lost my vote.

What does this comment prove? You have STATED NO FACTS about McCain supporting anything that you suggest. Obama openly supported drilling offshore, as long as it supports renewables. Roger – good questions. Lets let the facts lead us to good decisions.
2002 Income Tax Revenue: $797 billion
2006 Income Tax Revenue: $1,024 billion”
Question: Who made up the increase if the wealthiest Americans got a tax break?
Answer: Tax RATES (for everyone) went down. RATES go down, INCOME goes up as the economy grows, so TOTAL TAX REVENUE goes up. The IRS data shows increases in individual incomes across all income groups. The top tax brackets actually INCREASED their percent contribution during the period 2003-2006.
The net result has also been a sharp rise in federal government tax revenue from 2003 to 2006 compared to previous years.
Question: If 2002 was a budget surplus why is 2006 a deficit with more revenue collected and conservatives in charge of the government?”"
Answer: Obviously expenditures outpaced revenue. Social program costs continue to outpace economic growth, and exceed growth of defense spending.
Which candidate do you think stands the better chance of changing spending behavior in Washington?

I, for one, agree with the following:
Follow it carefully!
Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100.
If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:
The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.
So, that’s what they decided to do.
The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve.
‘Since you are all such good customers, he said, ‘I’m going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20.
Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.
The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.
But what about the other six men – the paying customers?
How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his ‘fair share?’
They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33.
But if they subtracted that from everybody’s share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer.
So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man’s bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.
And so:
The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).
The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).
The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).
The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (2 5% savings).
The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).
The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).
Each of the six was better off than before.
And the first four continued to drink for free.
But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.
‘I only got a dollar out of the $20,’declared the sixth man.
He pointed to the tenth man,’ but he got $10!’
‘Yeah, that’s right,’ exclaimed the fifth man.
‘I only saved a dollar, too. It’s unfair that he got ten times more than I!’
‘That’s true!!’ shouted the seventh man.
‘Why should he get $10 back when I got only two?
The wealthy get all the breaks!’
‘Wait a minute,’ yelled the first four men in unison.
‘We didn’t get anything at all. The system exploits the poor.’
The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.
The next night the tenth man didn’t show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him.
But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important.
They didn’t have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!
And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works.
The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction.
Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore.
In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.

**T** that, unfortunately is NOT how the US tax system works. You’re basing that analysis on earned income (salaries). The wealthiest people in this country don’t get thier money that way. They get it from investments which is taxed (at most) at around 15%. This is why Warren Buffet said that he actually pays at a lower tax rate (15%) than his secretary who pays at 35%.
I know its hard for working stiffs to fathom how much money there people get from investments but consider this…in the state of NY the Wall St brokers who earn most of their money from “bonuses” (investment gains)which are taxed at 15%, didn’t get those big bonuses this year because the investment banks tanked. Consequently, the state of NY is on the verge of bankruptcy (in the governor’s own words) largely because they lost so much tax revenue from just these guys. So yeah, they pay a lot taxes, but they KEEP a MUCH higher percentage of their money than we working stiffs do.
And THAT’S how the system really works.

*DTP* that is EXACTLY how the system works.
BTW bonuses (like those investment bankers receive) are taxed as income whether they are cash or non-cash. If the non-cash portion appreciates over time and is then sold it is TAXED AGAIN at 15%. Read the beer analogy again several times it is spot on.

Sarah supporters know? We know all we need to know, that she is for less taxes, more oil production, for gun rights, and for saving the life of a poor defenseless baby. And YOU????
So, “Cc”, what do you know about the community organizer? You like it that over 140 times he couldn’t make a decision, just voted “PRESENT’?????
A real leader, huh????

Has anyone even thought of the possibility that Hilary DECLINED the VP spot, and then told Obama that if he made her decision to decline public, he should not count on her support? Think about it: Bill and Hill are power-hungry politicians. Their goal was AND STILL IS getting back into the White House so they can complete their china set. The best case scenario for them is an Obama loss.
Oh, and I couldn’t resist…
Tim says: I can not beleive that I explained facts to you, with math, and you still do not understand that if the supply goes up 2% and the demand stays the same, the prices go down 2%. Did you take 2nd grade math?
LOL +2% supply=-2% price? That’s some crazy 2nd grade math you took.

Pam, yes, I LOVE the way George Bush has run the country. Until democrats took over the House and Senate, that is. We were doing fine until then.
Bush, to the delight of 99% of democrats who supported the war, went after terrorists instead of waiting until they came here and blew you to smitherines.
Sure, we lost 4,000 Soldiers, it’s a WAR remember. We lost that many in an hour during WWII at D-Day. But we also got probably 50,000 terrorists, democrats won’t talk about that.
Global Warming? Hey, I don’t drink Gore Kool-Aid. I don’t want him to get more than the $100 MILLION he has already milked from Americans. If you want to believe his garbage …. BTW, now “they” are saying there is Global Cooling on the way. Who you gonna blame that on????
Education is important except for democrats who want to pour more and more money into it. How about getting rid of incompetent teachers? Nope, union members.
Palin doesn’t have to step up against Kim Ill. All she has to do is prepare to step up against democrats, the real enemies of this country succeeding.

Palin just got her passport for the first time 6 months ago. Her husband was a member of AIP, a party campaigning for Alaskan secesion, and while Sarah’s membership is disputed, she attended their convention in 1994.
The republicans accuse Obama of being a socialist for proposing a taxcut for middle and lower class families. The truth is that the republicans endorse welfare of the rich, socialism for the rich. In other words, corporate wellfare. Bailing out financial institutions, more tax cuts for the oil industry regardless of their record profits, etc. But for the People republicans say NO, you cant have any, that would be big government.

Democrats SUPPORTED the war until it was obvious that it was going to make Bush look like a genius. Then all of a sudden, “War Lost, Slaughtering millions, WRONG WAR”!!!!
From where I stand, on top of the Empire State Building (not really, but sounds good), this country looks pretty safe. Terrorists, like democrats, have their panties in a wad, running for cover, cowering under the bed. Pretty good Bush strategy to me.
Bin Laden? Is he still alive? Do you know for sure? If he is, his rotten kidney is DODGING SNIPER FIRE. He is insignificant, except for democrats who hate Bush. Is that you?

Origin of the term “maverick”:
A Texas cattle rancher by the name of Samuel Maverick had a practice of not branding his cattle. So, cattle without brands came to be known as “mavericks”.
Put into more accessible language:
An ambulatory source of B.S. that doesn’t show any external signs of ownership, but is commonly known to belong to wealthy businessmen.
I’d say the term fits.

Hey Clintonites:
A vote for McCain=another run for the White House for Hilary in 2012 (at age 65)
A vote for Obama=no possibility of a Clinton run for the White House until AT LEAST 2016 (at age 69!)
Conclusion: a vote for McCain in 2008=a vote for Hilary in 2012

MB: “Anonymoose, Canada is just a short trip to the north. Don’t let the door hit you.”
Ladies and gentlemen of the most gullible, and backward “civilized” nation on the face of the earth, I rest my case. You’d rather whine and take cheap shots at each other in the name of party than to preserve what little is left of representative democracy in America.
Guess what? While you’re busy calling names and tossing around epithets like “organ grinder” and “McSame,” the politicians in Washington are LAUGHING at you. Democrat, Republican, “Libertarian,” it doesn’t matter. They love this stuff because you’re now taking care of all the divide and conquer for them. You’re so good at distracting yourselves from reality that they don’t even have to blow in your ears and pat your ample fannies any more while they pick your pockets.
The world is laughing at us. We’re an embarrassment to humanity. And honestly? No matter who gets elected we’re probably going to be a greasy nuclear smear on the face of the globe within a century, because we’re just too goddamned stupid to live. This election is proof of that. This message board is proof of that. The name-calling and childish, boorish sniveling you idiots engage in is proof of that. If this is the best face we can offer the world, then there is no hope left and humanity is a doomed, damned thing. The only question is how much time we have left. And if this stupidity is any indication, that ain’t much, chilluns. We’re sentencing ourselves to our own fate this very minute.
Congratulations, morons, for screwing up what’s left of American representative democracy, and damaging it hopelessly beyond repair. You’ve shown the politicians how easily led you are, how easily fooled you are, how easy it is to get you to bend over and take it while they screw you. Way to go. Hope you enjoy that.

Biben is Obama’s puppet and will say what he is told–what a minute–did I get that backwards?
Obama has the least experience of all of this years presidential candidates and he is going to tell a very, very, very experienced senator, who has more TERMS than Obama has Years in the Senate, what the platform will be?
Northeastern, Ivy League Senators, Kennedy, Kerry, Biden, McGovern all failed at their attempts to become president, and they came out to champion a junior senator against Clinton, who at least earned her stripes–guess she’s not cut out to be a good-ole-BOY!
Are these two Parties’ candidates the best we have?
The DNP likes to attempt to raise the past in comparing Kennedy to Obama, when McCain has more in common with Kennedy that Obama! Kennedy had his ship shot from under him, he ended up in the water, and had injuries that affected him the rest of his life.
Obama seems like a cool guy, but the DNP errored big time by not giving him more time to establish himself as a qualified candidate. If he loses, it will be the DNP’s fault, not Obama’s.
I like Biden, sometimes you hear just what he is thinking.

I believe in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and individual responsibility. I do not believe that taxpayers money should be used for peoples personal mistakes and irresponsibilities as Obama and his supporters do. Read the above, it say nil about helping you with mortgages or health care. Obama has far too many hand-out programs and the funding comes from hard-working Americans. He is a socialist/communist, not fit for our President.

Smart strategy VP Joe Biden. McCain-Palin know they will NEVER win on the issues. They haven’t addressed any of the issues thusfar, particularly health care and education. So no wonder Palin will try to gear the debate to personal attacks. This is all she knows and all we have heard from her since she stepped on the national stage. She talked about herself, about McCain, and then nothing but attacks against Sen. Obama and Joe Biden.
They haven’t any answers for the issues that concern the American people. They certainly can not explain one thing that they would do different from Bush. They can not explain the last 8 years of their bad and failed policies that has put our economy in a hole. So it’s apparent, McCain-Palin-Bush stance is to stay on the personal attack track.
Certainly it is true – “a pig in lipstick is still a pig.”
I truly hope the American people will get it right this time and vote for REAL change and that is Obama. It’s definitely time for REAL change in Washington, it’s time to elect Barack Obama for president !
The Obama-Biden team are wiser and stronger to solve the crucial problems that we have here and abroad !

*T** that, unfortunately is NOT how the US tax system works.
————————-
*DTP* that is EXACTLY how the system works.
BTW bonuses (like those investment bankers receive) are taxed as income whether they are cash or non-cash. If the non-cash portion appreciates over time and is then sold it is TAXED AGAIN at 15%. Read the beer analogy again several times it is spot on.

“Barack Obama IS”, what are you smoking?
Issues? What issues have Obammy and Hairplug Joe proposed? Just more taxes and bleed the country dry.
Free healthcare? Free college? Got any idea just what this will cost? Probably trillions. Where is the money coming from?
Oh, Tax the Rich. Right. Every time that has been done the rich just stop investing, stop improving, hide their money and get more tax breaks. So Obammy will have to tax the peons – that’s YOU and ME.
Bush has done 95% GOOD things. McCain will keep doing the good things. Like the economy booming, oops, until democrats took over the House and Senate. They made sure that you and I would pay a week’s salary to fill up. Thank YOU, democrats, for screwing the economy into the ground.
Personal attacks? Oh, like poor Sarah Palin is a “PIG WITH LIPSTICK”. Obammy needs to get some rest, every time he opens his mouth his fist goes into it.
He was doing so much better when he spent a week in Hawaii on vacation. He needs to go back there.
We need CHANGE!!! Yes, pick a 66 year old fart with hairplugs, in the senate for 34 years. Now that is reeeaaaaly change, right “Barak OBama IS”??????

The response from the Conservative side of the House :-
“You ask, what is our policy? I say it is to wage war by land, sea, and air. War with all our might and with all the strength God has given us, and to wage war against a monstrous tyranny never surpassed in the dark and lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy.
You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs – Victory in spite of all terrors – Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival.”

Democratic response maybe:-
“Without underrating the hardships of our situation, the long tragedy of the unemployed, the grievous burden of taxation, the arduous and painful struggle of those engaged in trade and industry, at any rate we are free from that fear which besets so many less fortunately placed, the fear that things are going to get worse. We owe our freedom from that fear to the fact that we have balanced our budget.
In war, whichever side may call itself the victor, there are no winners, but all are losers.”

Anything Biden says about his approach to his debate with Palin can’t be believed. Sarah Palin stands between Obama and victory. Everything including kitchen sinks, appliances, and sewing machines will be throw at her between now and then. Traps will be set. Attempts will be made to misinform Palin about Biden’s attitudes towards her. Biden’s problem though is that Sarah Palin is not reacting to him, but he to her. McCain/Palin have their eyes set on the goal, while Barack & Joe are still looking for their footing against a team they weren’t expecting. Obama has had to transform himself into a comic, at least until he gets his gravitas back. I think that gravitas is long gone. He has a potentially better future in comedy, like a Maher, or a Stewart.

She doesn’t owe the dems her loyalty after the fraud job they did on her in Florida. Experience, what experience does obama have. He is a great orator thats it. He stole his speeches from Kennedy and MLK. Nothing original. He threw his grandmother under the bus not his dad. He and the media attacked hillary, but that was okay.He has problems with women, sorry smart women. Finally i don’t think the people who work hard for their money should be responsible for the people who choose to look for had outs. A social government you do not need. I will vote for Mccain because the president needs to be experienced in these times. As biden said this is not an on the job training position.

Rodney, get back in your cage. Sure, you are scared of Palin, you would be scared of a gnat.
For your information, I guess you have hearing problems, she did not say anything about war with Russia. Even the democrat Willie Brown on MSNBC said she did a good job.
It was so obvious, to most with an IQ above room temperature, that Gibson was loading up on her trying not to be reamed out by democrats.
Democrat morons tend to forget that just 3 weeks ago she was merely a State Governor, new baby, with state problems. The last thing on her mind was solving the problems that Obammy can’t.
In such a short time, idiots think she should be ready to fight a War of the Worlds.

Creationism is the means by which America will trump the secular heathen scientists and create an economic renaissance the likes of which have never been seen on this planet. It will be known as the post-technological theo-lution and it will be lead by visionaries like our leader the Great Sarah Palin!!!
Obviously I’ve got the good stuff.

MB,
Many years ago I saw Jerry Falwell (not one of my favorite people) win a debate on Creationism vs. Evolution at the Oxford Union against some very skilled debaters.
He was honestly magnificent.
That doesn’t mean he was correct.
