Change Tug-O-War Continues on Campaign Trail
ABC News’ Matthew Jaffe Reports: In an election where laying claim to "change" could be the key to victory, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., and presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., are not about to let their Republican opponents Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin steal their message.
"I find it absolutely fascinating that John McCain and the Republican party are claiming the mantle of change now – literally," Biden said at a Monday rally at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. "They are going to change America?"
"After eight years of abject failure in our foreign policy, after eight years of turning our back on average Americans, after eight years of accumulated debt that is drowning the next generation that follows us, all of a sudden John and his Republican running mate are going to change the culture of Washington?" he asked incredulously.
Not so fast, he warned.
"I have not seen coming out of John’s mouth or his running mate’s mouth, nor have I seen anything in the last 26 years that I’ve worked with John, anything that says to me he disagrees with this administration on a single solitary significant policy initiative," he continued. "Not one. Not one."
Biden quoted his running mate’s comments criticizing Republicans for underestimating voters’ intelligence.
"As Barack said, what do they think we are? Completely stupid? Completely stupid? That they’re going to change the way things are?" he said.
Not only did he borrow from Obama, but Biden also ripped off the Republicans’ slogan with a line that almost caused the crowd to blow the roof off this fairgrounds farmhouse-style venue.
"They say "country first" – let’s put our country first and let’s put our people first!"
When it comes to understanding the issues, McCain and Palin, Biden said, just don’t get it.
"It is stunning, it is literally stunning, how out of touch this administration and John McCain are," he exclaimed.

How to Tell Obama’s in Trouble
“Sunday Biden says life begins at conception. Over the weekend Obama said he’ll not rescind the Bush tax cuts if the economy remained in trouble. Earlier on O’Reilly he said the surge did work.
Backtracking on the surge, taxes and abortion. Hmm. Next thing you know Obama and Biden will start campaigning in red open-toed shoes and frameless glasses.”

Obama wants to tax the wealthy, and hopefully, something will filter down to the middle and lower class, as he predicts.
The problem with this is that in order to get the country out of a recession, there needs to be investments made. And, the wealthy are the ones who can do the investing. Now, in Obama’s ideology, if you tax the wealthy to death, they won’t be able to invest, therefore, he would have to push the tax burden on the middle and lower class. Obama is a fruitcake!

NEWSFLASH! THIS JUST IN:
McCAIN IS ACCUSED OF THEFT!
Apparently still reeling from being caught stealing no less than 12,000 US flags from the Democrats in an overnight pillaging raid recently, now authorities are revealing more theft complaints involving McCain and his personal entourage.
As if purloining 12,000 flags and blaming it on local Boy Scouts wasn’t enough, McCain now stands accused of stealing a copy of Gideon’s bible from a hotel in Minneapolis during his stay there for the convention earlier this week.
Hotel employees gave a list of several items missing from the Hotel after McCain stayed there, including the Bible. Other missing items included three cocktail glasses, an ice bucket, several bars of soap, three rolls of toilet paper and those tiny little ketchup and mustard bottles.
Boy Scouts den mothers also expressed their dismay given the recent circumstances surrounding the wild accusations that somehow Boy Scouts were wandering the Invesco Arena area during the late hours after the DNC Convention and had stumbled upon 12,000 US flags, which they were then alleged to have stolen and having fenced in Minneapolis to the RNC. “I am shocked” said one mother. “Little Jimmy is home by sunset and tucked in by 8:30 every night, including weekends”.
“These Bibles are no longer free to steal” said the Hotel manager anonymously for fear of scurrilous reprisals by Republican fanatics. “It clearly states on the inside cover that you have to send away now for a free copy of the Gideon’s Bible” exclaimed the Hotel manager.
“You can’t just go willy-nilly taking things as if you own the world” the manager added. “I hear he was illegally downloading music off the internet last month to use in his TV commercials to bash the Democrats.”
Apparently McCain has long suffered from a rare disorder called “Hotel Kleptomania” stemming all the way back to his days in the Hanoi Hilton, where staff still insist he would take spoons, which have not been accounted for to this day. McCain still holds a grudge against the Hiltons, recently implicating young Paris Hilton in one of his regular tirades about Barack Obama, his staunch Democratic rival for the presidency.
The Hiltons were not available for comment, but a spokesperson for the Hotel chain said that McCain has been blacklisted from staying at their hotels since the early 70s due to missing items whenever he would stay at one of their hotels.
This is just one more blow to the McCain camp, still reeling from theft accusations including stealing Barack Obama’s political campaign theme and message as well, a message of change and reform. “We knew he had taken the message”, as did several witnesses who spotted McCain, Washington insider and veteran politician for a quarter century, spouting the term change and reform where several members of the American public were gathered.
One witness said he knew McCain had stolen Obama’s message when he heard McCain having tremendous difficulty pronouncing the word “change”. “It sounded so strange coming from Mr. McCain that you could readily see he was unfamiliar with the concept or how to pronounce the word” said one eye witness. A local panhandler handed McCain a dollar, thinking McCain was begging for a hand out. “I just felt sorry for the guy” said the homeless man, he kept saying “change”.
Mr. Obama stated that “This is a sad day for all Americans” and lamented that McCain really had no message or content of his own to use for his campaign. Mr. Obama volunteered to donate his political message and theme to McCain just as soon as he was finished with them, after November 6th.
Democratic supporters feeling bad for poor McCain have started a campaign and are mailing McCain their loose change.

I will vote for and support the candidate who has done great work for me and my fellow veterans Barack Obama. Mc Same was against even the GI Bill and is seen as a downer by his fellow veterans America. Go to you Tube and search POW and Mc Cain and see what his cell mate tells you about if you should trust Mc War and his temperament. OBAMA BIDEN YES WE CAN! Nothing to fear but fear itself and that is what the Republicans do is try and create fear. No Way No How No Mc Cain Palin.

McCain’s lead is going to increase while Obama’s goes down. Even with Hillary stumping for Obama she can’t match Palin. I would like to see a debate between Hillary and Palin. Palin will walk all over Biden and McCain will walk all over Obama.

These daily polls mean nothing but who people will likely vote for. It’s a popular vote. The electoral vote is the one that counts though. I think it will come down to 2 or 3 states that will determine the presidency. And I don’t think anyone can predict who that will be right now.
Posted by: d | September 8, 2008, 9:25 pm 9:25 pm
d; The only change Obama knows is the change in his pocket. He took the words change and hope from the speech of RFK because he cannot form the words himself. He has been using speeches of JFK and MLK but adding some of his own words. Obama doesn’t have the ability or knowledge to run this country and I am betting that he will lose the election. I don’t why Hillary would want to campaign for Obama after he had a talk with the superdelegates along with Nancy Pelosi to switch their vote to Obama. How underhanded can you get.

Senator Obama has one big mouth which he has been running from day one but absolutely no real answers to our problems. His senate district lost 11% of the jobs while he was in control. He is a socialist/communist/Marxist to the very core. He does not represent decent Americans at all, only those who are expecting more free hand-outs.
McCain/Palin in November. Vote for decency, not killing babies.
Posted by: Mary | September 8, 2008, 9:35 pm 9:35 pm
Jared: Are you believing that Obama was against the war? He wasn’t even in the senate when the voting was held. Bush is responsible for lying to the people about Weapons of Mass Destruction not McCain. This country did not find out until over 3 years later that Bush lied to us. Cheney is also involved. The senator’s that voted did not know that Bush was lying. Bush wanted to go after Saddam because his father did not. Bush is the worst president in history but blame the voter’s for voting him in office twice. I never voted for him I voted for John Kerry. Now, I am voting for McCain because I would never vote for a candidate with the background that Obama has including being anti-american. The public better wake up and think before they vote or this country will go down the drain. Obama doesn’t have the knowledge or ability to run a country. He only wants to make history as the first black president, however, Obama is not black or white he is Mulatto and would not be the first black president if elected.

CindyMcCainIsALoser: I think your smoking what Obama is. Cindy McCain would never spend 300,000 on an outfit and that was not on the news. Did you see the sales receipt. And if she does wear expensive clothes what difference does it make to you. Her father left her that money and she can do what she wants with it. Her suit probably cost no more than about 1,000.00 or 1,500.00 Hillary’s pantsuits are very expensive however I think they might not cost over 1,000.00 or 1,500.00. Don’t get jealous because Cindy is rich and your not.

Andrew Sullivan, Republican, sums it up perfectly:
The Palin pick says much more about McCain than it does about Palin (all it says about her is that she didn’t have the good sense to turn it down). What it says about McCain is that he is more interested in politics than policy, more interested in campaigning than governing, tactical when he should be strategic, and reckless when he should be considered.
He is as big a gamble as president as Palin is as vice-president. This decision was about gut, about politics, about cynicism, and about vanity. It’s Bushism metastasized.

Jared: That’s where your wrong. I know that your are aware of the fact that Obama attended a racist white hating anti-american church for 20 year with a racist pastor. Now, why would any true american attend a church like that? You should get yourself a copy of his BIO from the NYT and read it. Obama was racist at an early age. He had the nerve being half white himself. Am I correct when I say Michelle stated she likes America now. Did you know that Michelle was a racist and belonged to a racist organization years ago. And why would Obama baptize his children in that church.

CindyMcCainIsALoser. Are you that dumb? Of couse he understands the middleclass but that’s not his fault or the fault of Cindy that people are poor. McCain earned his money, Cindy worked before her father died and left her that money. And why should the middleclass whine? There are people on the streets living on welfare and a link card. Why doesn’t Obama give his half brother in Kenya 50,000 so he can live in better conditions.

David From Texas – You are getting ready to get nailed, literally, by Hurricane Ike. Hurricanes are getting stronger and stronger and McCain has chosen a VP who does not believe in the science of global warming or climate change. Secondly, I told you last night I would pray for you at your request despite some of your not-so-respectful post. My family lost so much in Katrina and I pray you never have to endure what many in my family did. Here is what McCain offered post-Katrina:
On August 29, 2005, when Hurricane Katrina blasted New Orleans in the early morning hours, McCain spent the day celebrating his birthday with President Bush at a resort in Arizona. That night McCain appeared on the comedy show Late Night With Conan O’Brien.
• In the aftermath of the New Orleans disaster, McCain did not visit New Orleans until seven months later in March 2006. McCain’s decision to go to New Orleans came two days after an embarrassing article was published in a Capitol Hill newsletter pointing out he was the only one of six senators who were running for president who had not visited the city.
• In September 2005 McCain cautioned his Senate colleagues about spending too much on Katrina recovery efforts: “We’re going to end up with the highest deficit, probably, in the history of this country.”
• In September 2005 and February 2006 McCain voted against establishing a commission to look into the federal government failures in its Katrina disaster relief efforts.
• In September 2005 McCain voted against a proposal to extend unemployment benefits for Katrina victims from 26 weeks to 52 weeks.
• In September 2005 McCain voted against an amendment offered by Senator Joe Biden to provide emergency funding for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
• In October 2005 McCain voted against establishing an investigation into fraud and waste in Katrina recovery efforts.
• In November 2005 McCain voted against a bill that would have permitted uninsured Katrina victims five months of coverage under the federal government’s Medicaid program for low-income families.
• In February 2008 McCain traveled to Texas to receive the endorsement of Pastor John Hagee. In 2005, speaking on National Public Radio, Hagee said, “I believe that New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God and they are recipients of the judgment of God.”
• In June 2008 McCain said, “I’ve supported every investigation into Katrina.” His September 2005 and February 2006 votes, detailed above, show this is not true.
McCain’s consistent opposition to disaster relief is not limited to Hurricane Katrina. In 2006 McCain opposed a last-minute amendment to legislation that would have provided $1.9 million for flood relief in Hawaii. McCain said at the time, “My constituents live in Arizona. A lot of us are getting sick and tired of this, sick and tired. Earlier, in 2001, McCain opposed an amendment to allocate $7.5 billion in recovery funds for areas damaged by the September 11 terrorist attacks.

That was the word Clinton used when he was campaigning for president and RFK also used it. Obama took it from their speeches. Yes, he loves this country that’s why he had close ties to Ayers who bombed this country and Wright who is anti-american himself and hates whites.

If, as Governor Palin believes, the Iraq war is part of God’s plan for the middle east then He should have put it in the hands of someone more competent than George W. Bush – all the praying in the world won’t bring back the 4000+ Americans, or the 100,000+ Iraqis that have died as part of this ‘divine caper’. It’s hard to believe that some who takes this asinine approach to foreign policy could even be considered for the post of VP.

Obiden fails to recognize that he has been there longer than John McCain, and he knows very well that McCain is not like George Bush. He has called him a friend that he would support, along with other glowing appraisals. If Joe Biden has been there 36 years to John McCain’s 26 years, how come Joe did not produce noteworthy change? McCain has not been afraid to take courageous stands against Bush, his own Party, or the status quo. Obiden must really be nervous to hear the other side talk about real change and putting country first. It is about time!
Many of us are going to do just what John McCain has done many times very courageously in standing for what is right. It is not Party first this time. It is country first!
How quickly the change artist and his newly found friend get uptight and excited because someone is using their word. This is really funny! Two fellow Senators who have had golden opportunities to make change already, wasted some golden opportunities. Stop using that word already! It’s a joke!

Public Allies is a Chicago organization of taxpayer-funded street thugs. Barack Obama founded Public Allies in Chicago in 1992, and Michelle Obama became the executive director. The group uses taxpayer dollars to entice kids to sign up for Marxist indoctrination. Public Allies paid members spend most of their time protesting and despising this country. Public Allies teaches the young adults that America is a racist, oppressive place in need of “social change.” – (Hollywoodgrind.com, 2008), (publicallies.org, 2008)

d, you know it is really interesting about that “90 percent of the time” phrase. What does it actually refer to? Procedural votes? A little soundbite phrase Axelrod thought would sell? Look at everyone’s resume and see what they have done and stood for. Palin has more bonafide experience in executive leadership and fighting for the people. A pit bull wearing lipstick? Change is what you do to make improvements or make the status quo better. Obama has no qualifications to be President. He has spent most of his first term as Senator running for President. Foreign Policy? A rock concert in Germany won’t get it. Obama has no relevant experience and he is running for the number one spot! McCain is the most experienced and qualified candidate. Take it from a lifelong Democrat, I am not swayed by pandering by the Republican Party. I really do try to pick the most qualified candidate. I have always admired and respected the courage and wisdom of John McCain. Of the four: McCain first, Biden second, Palin third, Obama last. Hillary was the best candidate originally, but look how she was treated by the media and the DNC Superdelegates. Is Palin, another intelligent and highly capable woman going to face the same treatment? Sure looks like it, but the voters do have the last say.

PALIN’S A LIAR!!!
It’s bogus to say that Palin was against the “bridge to nowhere.” Or to say well OK she supported it in the begining, but then she stopped it…
Because then you have just admitted Palin has been lying in every speech she has given so far!!
The real reason she came around to opposing it was not that the overall costs went up — the project was always a boondoggle, and costs were always going up — but that one particular element of the project’s cost ballooned: The portion that Alaska would have to pay, instead of getting the money through federal pork.
In her statement finally ending the project, Palin explicitly lamented that fact. “Despite the work of our congressional delegation, we are about $329-million short of full funding for the bridge project,” Palin said at the time,” and it’s clear that Congress has little interest in spending any more money on a bridge between Ketchikan and Gravina Island.”
When are you people finally going to get that she is just another LIAR?
WE DON’T NEED MORE LIARS LIKE BUSH LEADING OUR OUR COUNTRY!
Remember COUNTRY FIRST!!

Who’s Socialism are we talking about?
Socialism for the rich or the poor?
Who gets the best of police and fire protection. Who gets the wright off for child care? Who gets the 401Ks and the tax wright off? Who’s streets, sidewalks are better maintained? Who’s zoning ordinances are in forced better? Who has more influence in Government? Who has health care and who doesn’t? Don’t try and tell me that we don’t all pay for it. One way or the other we do through higher taxes or prices on way or the other we all pay for it.

A few weeks ago when a NUT pastor at Palins “Bible Church” in Wassilla. He gave a sermon saying that the recent attacks by Palestinian terrorists killing Jews (by crushing them with bulldozers) was JUDGMENT on the Jews for not believing in Christ!!!
SHE DIDN’T GET UP AND WALK OUT, SHE JUST SAT THERE AND APPLAUDED AFTER!
You Republicans and rednecks would have “screamed to high heaven” if Obama would have been sitting in Wright’s church when he was giving some of his nutty sermons – BUT HE WASN’T!!!

Obama doesn’t have an original thought in his head. Most of his speeches were stolen from others and it doesn’t take a lot of research to find out the facts.
“Change” is appropriate (though, again, not original) to his campaign, because in the interview with O’Reilley this evening, he labels income redistribution as “neighborliness”. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! And he wants to be leader of the free world. Jerk. That’s what he is. Plain and simple. A puppet brought forth by the democratic machine.
So, anyone who has savings or makes over $50,000 a year, let’s all get NEIGHBORLY and send your obscene profits to the other 95% of your neighbors who don’t have as much as you do. “You can afford it”, according to Obama, his words. Just words. Freak.
Well, Obammie, we CAN’T AFFORD You!
I think the hijack of the motto is great! Finally republicans can steal like the dems have stolen from us forever! Can we say Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac? Can we say Obama’s ACORN where he community organizes voter registration fraud (type in Obama ACORN) on google.
Obama’s stuck his foot in his mouth so many times already it’s a wonder his ears poke out. Freak. Is that the best you guys have? Obama? Puhlease.

Now that the Democrats are rabidly attacking Sarah Palin over the Alaskan Ketchikan bridge, claiming she lied about shutting down the project, it might be a good moment to point out that both Barack Obama and Joe Biden voted for the Bridge to Nowhere.
Now that Alaska is front and center in the news again, it is a good time to catch up on a favorite story, The Bridge to Nowhere, using the Washington Post US Congress Votes Database.
Though Gov. Palin originally supported the earmark spending on the Ketchikan bridge (“to nowhere), she eventually killed the project, chosing to spend Federal money on other infrasturcture programs.
However, Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama voted for funding the Bridge, even when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief.
Posted by: GI | September 9, 2008, 2:38 am 2:38 am
…and Joe Biden? That’s it? That’s all you got? Gag me. He has room to talk, he’s been in Washington longer than McCain – so what’s he been doing?
Change we can believe in! YES WE CAN! Yes we can what? Keep changing our position to be in line with Bush? Oh, and news flash…Obama is running against McCain, not Bush, but maybe McCain had better start pointing out how much Obama is starting to ride Bush’s coattails! Gosh, and you guys can’t even see what a freak your candidate is. Does moveon.org, media matters and all your extreme leftist media views really have you that brainwashed?
I can hardly wait to hear Obammie talk about his associations (which, btw, are revelant because it’s indicative of the character of people he would have close to him in his cabinet) tonite on O’Reilley.
WHEN Obama loses, ILLINOIS MUST vote him and his buddy Durbin OUT of our US Senate (along with a bunch of other losers) in 2010 because the comedy scene is lacking some fresh new faces. Obama would be GREAT as a stand up comedian. Durbin could be his manager, sort of like what he does now. Do this Barack, do that Barack.

McCain/Palin should adopt the “Real Change” motto. That way, like how Obama/Biden steal and enhance others’ speeches then claim them as their own without any rhetoric, so can McCain, YES HE CAN! See libs, how easy that is? CHANGE just a little bit of something and it becomes yours.

Let’s keep record:
As of 9.9.08, Obammie will KEEP BUSH, YES BUSH’S, tax cuts if the economy warrants them.
He voted against the surge, campaigned against it, now he’s behind or neck n neck in the polls and all of a sudden, the surge was a wild success.
He campaigned for troop withdrawl, hates war, but has CHANGED his view on all that. BTW, it’s funny how in 2006 all you libs voted for your people because they said they’d get the troops out – hahahahah, they’re still there. Gee, could it be that you were LIED to? Or that they PLAYED ON YOUR FEARS? HAHAHAHAHA!
So, all you war haters, just give it up already. War is a necessary evil in our world. It’s nothing new and has been going on since day 1 on earth. Get with the program already. How would you like the Russians to come to LA, NYC, Chicago and camp? THAT, dear libs, is a true invasion and it’s WHY we fight, to keep your rights to trash our president and our country alive and well.
Posted by: obamamama | September 9, 2008, 3:10 am 3:10 am
You know, it’s like you get this fresh face from a pristeen place like Alaska; someone who isn’t your trashy politician and has REAL hopes and dreams and a SINCERE love and respect for God & Country, then she has to deal with the trash from the trashy media in the lower 48 who just spin the truth out into oblivion. I’m pretty ashamed about that; too bad the media has no conscience.
I’m sure we’ll also never hear, in the mainstream lower 48 state trash media, about how Biden & Obama voted in favor of Hawaiian succession. HAHAHAHAHA – Sarah wasn’t even in the AIP, yet she was called a “successionist” and THEY voted to let Hawaii do it if they wanted to.
Posted by: obamamama | September 9, 2008, 3:17 am 3:17 am
Check this out from Answers Yahoo – too bad Hawaii didn’t secede (sp?) from the union when Obama was born there. Darn. Then he couldn’t run for president. But, how do we really know his mother was pregnant with HIM? I want a DNA TEST NOW!
Resolved Question
Show me another »
Why did Obama and Biden vote for a bill that could have led to Hawaii’s succession from the US?
John Fund on June 12th of 2006 in the Wall Street Journal noted Senator Akaka [from Hawaii] “undermined his own bill last year when he made statements to National Public Radio that the sovereignty granted Native Hawaiians in the [Native Hawaiian Government Reorganization Act] bill could eventually lead to secession. ‘That could be,’ he said. ‘As far as what’s going to happen at the other end, I’m leaving it up to my grandchildren and great-grandchildren.’” Obama and Biden both voted for Akaka’s bill that opened the way for Hawaii to leave the union! Hmmmm would that leave us 56 states Obama?

Hey Dave,
If this is the case why haven’t they been investing over the last eight years when they’ve benefited from record tax breaks?
That said, there is truth in your premise, but it doesn’t work when business runs government on its behalf and the benefits are disproportionately shared among the top 1% while the rest of the country is left the scraps. I believe in competition, but that is precisely what McCain wants to do away with by further entrenching existing business and thus not allowing new business to get a fair shake.

One of the main reasons that Palin knocked the wind out of Obama’s sail is that she is not a Washington insider and is new to the political scene and has already made an actual improvement in the government.
People have to ask themselves why hasn’t Obama made any changes while he has been in office? If Palin has had time and made real changes, why hasn’t Obama?
Then we remember that he voted “present” 130 times while in the senate. That doesn’t sound like change, that sounds like taking the safe way out.

What have liberals Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Joe Biden or Barack Obama DONE to affect change in government in the last two years?
Just in this campaign alone, Barack Obama, in contrast to John McCain, opted out of McCain and Russ Feingold’s campaign finance REFORM restrictions, for political reasons!
Talk about a major flip-flop!!!
And he flipped the WRONG way, unlike Sarah Palin who “flipped” the CORRECT way, TOWARDS reform, not away from it.
We heard all of the Democrats’ campaign promises in 2006.
The campaign promises of 2008 sound like empty rhetoric to those of us who thought the Democrats might come up with some some backbone in 2006.
Split government, with two reformers in the executive branch and the Congress in the hands of the incompetent “leaders” in the Democratic Congress is likely the best we can do this year.
Can anyone tell me why the Democrats decided to spit in the faces of 18 million moderate voters?
Seriously, does it get any stupider?

McCain is so desperate to find something to resonate with the voters that he has to hijack the Obama theme? Does McCan’t think the American public is stupid? HE VOTED WITH BUSH 90% OF THE TIME! Now all of a sudden he wants to be the Change candidate? Give us a break. What bull shot.

No surprise that the U.N. supports Barak Obama for President. A bunch of third world countries feedig off the U.S. and only want us for our money. When push comes to shove only a handful of U.N. countries stand on our side. Maybe Barak should be President of one of these U.N. blood suckers.

Obama is whining and crying about Bush’s speech about Iraq. He disagrees and turns around and says he will send more troops to other countries there. He said it will let more money stay here. More double talk.

I am waiting to see how Bush will “orchestrate” our foreign policy and world politics to intervene on McCain’s behalf.
The North Korean issue was already smelling as fowl as a Republican campaign promise.
The shuffling of troops in Iraq over to Afghanistan also smacks of election-driven policies.
What more world events can Bush wrangle the puppet strings on so it looks like Pinocchio is a “real” boy?
The sad reality is that Bush has been saving these “trump” cards up his sleeve to use just on an occasion like this election.
It’s more important to get into office than to accomplish any thing meaningful for the American people, as Republican’s agendas are far more deviant that actually getting anything relevant accomplished.
Political office serves so many greater needs, as Abramoff has shown us recently.
I just hope there will be justice in the end, with all the trimmings.

Look where the “It’s more important to get into office than to accomplish any thing meaningful for the American people” has put the approval ratings. Who has the worse rating, Bush or the dem. congress?

Sarah Palin is the US’s answer to Margaret Thatcher! Anyone who thinks she cannot handle the job or deal briskly and efficiently with ANY issue, including foreign governments . Well, they haven’t met our Sarah.
As an Alaskan resident as well as a resident of Wasilla, AK, where Sarah Palin was at one time Mayor . I can speak with confidence. Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska is exactly what she portrayed during her introduction this morning and exactly what our US Government needs. She is ethical to a fault (if there is such a thing), a refreshing change to the status-quo and as smart and determined a PERSON (gender really isn’t an issue here as far as I’m concerned) as anyone could ask for at the head of government.
Sarah is no naïve “small town mayor” – she just *started out* there. Btw, as Mayor of Wasilla, she brought this “small town” through a lot of GOOD changes and left it at the end of her term having grown to the 4th largest CITY in Alaska – a lot of growth and a stronger economic base than ever before.
She has EXECUTIVE experience ‘running a government’ (something NONE of the other candidates can actually boast, even John McCain) as Governor of Alaska and got there by defeating the ‘incumbent’ Republican Governor, who was definitely part of the “old school” and who WAS very much in the pocket of the big oil companies. We in Alaska wanted change – and we got it in the person of Sarah Palin!
Sarah Palin is everything she looks to be and more. Her approval rating as Governor of Alaska has been as high as 95% and is currently leveled out consistently in the upper 80 percentile throughout the state (and in both parties) – the HIGHEST approval rating of ANY sitting Governor.
Sarah has been turning around corruption in the Legislature of Alaska – turning things on their ear for that matter; cutting spending in spite of the increased income the state is currently receiving due to the high oil prices – she has insisted on putting a huge amount of the “windfall” into savings for the future rather than spending, spending, spending – and has insisted from the get-go on what she refers to as “honest, ethical and transparent governing” – no more closed door meetings and dealings – the big oil companies thought she would be a pushover and have learned better to their chagrin.
She understands the “real people” and the economic issues we all face (Alaskans along with the rest of the country) – she was one of “us” not long ago. Rather than passing useless “laws” or throwing money at pet projects, she (most recently) temporarily suspended the state gas tax (on gasoline at the pumps, fuel oil and natural gas for homes, etc.) and has ordered checks issued to ALL residents of Alaska this fall in an attempt to assist with the burden of high fuel costs for the upcoming winter. I could go on and on, but that’s enough for now. She isn’t doing these things to be popular – she is doing it because her constituents are HURTING financially and she can help.
She became Governor of Alaska by defeating the Incumbent Republican Governor and doing it ‘without’ the money or the support of the Republican Party, which was amazing in itself – and she won by a landslide. The “powers that be” at that time totally underestimated Sarah and learned better the hard way. She has done exactly what she claimed she was going to do and is just as popular today as the day she was elected – perhaps more so since even the Democrats up here seem to like her – she works well with both sides in the Legislature here.
Sarah “belongs” to us (Alaskans)…and although we are going to be terribly sorry to see her leave before she finishes the job she started here (two years ago) straightening out OUR State…we understand she is needed for a bigger purpose and hopefully her Lt. Governor will be able to fill her shoes here and continue the job.
As for worrying about what would happen if McCain were to die or step down or whatever, up here in AK we’ve only been wondering how long we would be able to KEEP Sarah in Alaska and have seen her as our first woman President of the USA from the start. It’s always been a matter of whether she would wait until the end of her TWO terms as Governor (no doubt at ALL that she would be re-elected if she ran for a second term at the end of her current term) … or end up in Washington sooner. She could do the job TODAY.
She will be an excellent Vice President … and my guess is will be our US Republican Presidential candidate in four years – AND by then the country will KNOW her – will love and respect her as we do here – and she’ll win by as much of a landslide as she did here in Alaska. I only wonder if McCain has a clue what he is unleashing on the US of A. She is going to be a fresh wind, but also a strong wind.
She hasn’t let us or Alaska down. She will do the same for the USA if given the opportunity.
ROCK ON MCCAIN & PALIN!!!!

No Wonder Hamas Endorses Obama
You can see why Hamas endorses Obama, and why Palestinians actually are running phone banks from the terrorist-run territories on Obama Hussein’s behalf!!!

Are you kidding me?
Sarah in a crunch by any world crisis would be metaphorically hog tied and raped repeatedly before she knew what was being stuffed in her by the circumstances of said crisis.
Worse is that she’d then be motivated to live up the challenge and irresponsibly sacrifice our military, defensive and financial resources for the sake of saving HER face, while putting the nation on the brink of disaster.

Palestinians Running Phone Banks for Obama
The notion of Barack Obama becoming President is so preposterous, it cannot be parodied.
This al-Jazeera report about Palestinians in Gaza — the folks who elected the terror group Hamas to run the government — appears to be completely on the level.
The same folks who passed out candy in celebration on 9/11 are running phone banks in support of their hero Obama!!!

My fears are simple ones;
1 – McCain dies in office after only a few months at the helm,
2 – Sarah becomes president,
3 – The people rebel,
4 – Military coup in America.
Next;
1 – Obama gets killed,
2 – Biden takes the helm,
2 – The people rebel,
4 – Military coup in America.

Incredible. That is the only way to characterize Johnny McSame and Sarah Palin in making their claims to be the agents of change. Hey, the G.O.P. has been in charge for the last 8 years. So, what are you telling us. Are you admitting that Bush and other conservatives were dead wrong. It seems to me that’s what you’re saying, except you do nothing but offer 4 more years of the same. Wake up, people. These minions of the far right have fooled you twice. Are you going to let them fool you again??? Obama/Biden 2008!!!

Obama represents a clear POLICY CHANGE from the Bush administration. Looking at Bush’s disastrous presidency, the country is almost united in recognizing the need for this change. It should be as simple as that. People, don’t you know WHAT you believe in? What is your philosophy about the ISSUES? Change does not merely mean bringing a new face – a female at that – from a remote location, to Washington. The only change McCain and Palin would offer is that type of change. Their policies are closely aligned with Bush. Palin is a change in the sense that she is a woman, and we have never heard of her. It is distressing to see the gullibility of the masses won over by Miss Congeniality as she delivers zingers with ease, whipping up the Republican base, reading her Scully speeches on the teleprompter. Yes, we know she’s good at that. So what? Also, being someone you can “relate to as a working mom”, as so many are saying, does not equate to competency as a VP. Her executive experience as Alaska’s governor has in no way given her the background in domestic and foreign policy issues which would make her, in theory, better prepared for the VP role. Obama and Biden are both immersed in these issues and have clearly defined positions regarding them. This realm would be new territory for Palin. The big change would be for her, not because of her. So many out there are just so excited to jump on the bandwagon, that they have completely lost sight of the ISSUES at stake in this election.

Change. Yes, we can! Change. Yes, we can! Change. Yes, we can! Wait a minute…that’s our word…what are they trying to do? Stop using our words! Change is our word, and you can’t have it. What are we going to do now? Oh, my! Now, we will have to start talking more about pigs and lipstick. Funny how everyone picks up on the same words….”Words! Just words!” Change we can believe in!

THE OBAMA CAMP IS RUNNING AROUND LIKE CHICKENS WITH THEIR HEADS CUT OFF!
BIDEN SAID, “A WOMAN ON THE TICKET IS A STEP BACK FOR WOMEN”???? IS HE NUTS?
OBAMA HAS SENT A SMALL ARMY OF 30 LAWYERS AND INVESTIGATORS TO ALASKA TO “VET” GOVERNOR SARAH PALIN.
HAD THE DNC AND BIASED MEDIA PROPERLY “VETTED” OBAMA — HILLARY WOULD BE THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE.
WHY IS OBAMA ATTACKING HIS OPPONENT’S #2 PERSON ON THE TICKET? SHE’S NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. JOHN McCAIN IS.
WHY IS OBAMA ATTACKING PRESIDENT BUSH? HE’S NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. JOHN McCAIN IS.
YOU CAN SEND AN “IDIOT” TO HARVARD — BUT HE’S STILL AN “IDIOT”!
I’M VOTING FOR THE HONORABLE JOHN S. McCAIN IN NOVEMBER!
