Conservatives Embarrassed About Palin (No. 3 in a Series)
National Review’s Rich Lowry watches Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on CBS and pronounces her performance "dreadful."
If Palin isn’t better prepared for Thursday debate, Lowry cautions, "she risks damaging her political brand forevermore."

Its not only conservatives. Women too. Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton and I think thats what John McCain was going for. A conservative Hillary.
If she performs on thursday night as she did in the Couric interview, she makes history.
The WORST vice presidential nominee ever.
It’s funny. Conservatives and pundits were calling her the game changer. Look at McCain poll numbers.
Worse then before he announce her as his VP choice.

The scandals brewing look bad for Obama but if the media refuses to cover them, who will know? Obama is counting on it.
1. The money for ACORN stuffed into the bailout bill. While railing on about the emergency need, the Democrats were quietly pushing tax dollars into an organization under indictment for voter fraud, the very registrations that Obama is counting on to counter his inability to get blue collar support.
2. This quote from the Missouri Governor about the Obama campaign attempts to use the courts to silence critics “Enlisting Missouri law enforcement to intimidate people and kill free debate is reminiscent of the Sedition Acts – not a free society.”
Between these hangs the spectre that as the polls close in November, challenges to the votes cast will come quickly and with sufficient proof to hold up any decision. Reminiscent of what Obama did to Alice Palmer in Chicago, there may be justice in this, but the damage to the government will be profound.
Corrupt media will not be able to spin this one away from landing squarely in the Democratic candidate’s lap.

and exactly who do your grandparents think Obama is a “puppet” for…
Give me a break. As far as the networks being biased… The republicans just can’t stand the FACTS and therefore they scream “liberal media” every time any media outlet reports on their constant screw ups.

Those gloating over Palin’s so called interviews(leftist ambush operation inspired by the change clown)have forgotten the stutters, gaffes, half answers,ai ai ai ,ya ya ya from the community organizer.Sarah should learn one thing from him though-give a well rehearsed teleprompter speech in front of 200 flags and even your worst mistake is laughed off as a distraction.Do not throw stones if you live in a glass house..idiots.

I have a few questions not related to this post but in the debate mccain said he would put a freeze on spending does that mean he would STOP SPENDING 10 BILLON DOLLARS A MONTH IN IRAQ? question 2 Some belive mccain is responsible for the deal with the bailout and claims he saved the day my question AS PRESIDENT WILL MCCAIN SAVE OUR MEN AND WOMAN FROM DYING IN IRAQ? WILL HE END THIS WAR AND STOP THE DYING OF OUR MEN AND WOMAN AND OUR ECONOMY GOING FUTHER AND FUTHER IN DEBT BECAUSE OF IT? ANY ANSWERS ANYONE?

just like they did for the past 8 years…destroying our nation.

The media does not control the answers that Palin provides. She may be smart and savvy, but she is over her head. She reminds of a job applicant who did not read the job description before applying and is trying to BS through an interview hoping something will resonate.

after this Thursday there will be no more chips on the table for Johnny. He will of course then play the Wright card as Kristol (who thought Palin was a great pick) suggests today, and then John’s campaign will be finished as only the far right will go to the polls for him… You Republican’s keep relying on Hannity, Rush, and Kristol for political advice and, in the end.. our country will be the better for it as our politicians shift to the side of mainstream Americans..

It would be one thing if Palin made “gaffes” but knew what she was talking about. God bless her, she just doesn’t have a clue. Yes, she feisty and as a woman, I respect her juggling all the duties and accomplishments she’s made. But I gotta say, the more I’m seeing/hearing, the more she scares the heck out of me. There isn’t a chance I would gamble on her running this place if God forbid, McCain can’t…

Cultural Amnesia – funny, one person from Canada vs. the whole WORLD who wants Obama. Gee go figure.
“At the moment, with nearly 15,000 votes cast so far, Senator Obama has 81% of the global popular vote and is ahead in every country, giving him 7,991/9,875 potential electoral votes (the remaining 1,884 relate to countries where not more than 10 votes have been cast). These results, coming from the readers of such a high-brow weekly newspaper, which has been known to back Republican candidates (such as Ronald Regan), is a stunning outcome. The many polls and articles we have highlighted over the last year have made it clear that Senator Obama is favoured by ordinary people around the world. This remarkable Economist poll gives a strong indication that the global elite shares the same view.”
Yeah so….one guy in Canada vs. the whole world at about 80% for Obama….go ahead and try using that some more LOL!

@dl: You share a quality with your candidate. You lose it when confronted with the truth and try to use smirks and ‘no no’ to fight back. That’s not wise. You are trivializing your position.
The facts are public knowledge if not as widely commented on as Tina Fey. ACORN is under indictment and the Governor of Missouri is issuing public statements about the thug tactics being used in Missouri by the Obama campaign.
At some point, you will have to grow up and see things as they are, not as you want them to be.

Time to wake up people. Palin can’t answer a question, evades the question, is this what we want? Everyone wants to blame the press – charlie gibson, katie couric, aren’t they allowed to ask these questions? If she is so ready for vp or pres, what is the problem, shouldn’t she know the answers. Wasn’t there enough time to prepare for this? I think mccain made a big mistake.

The Obamabots do not seem to understand that the Community Reinvestment Act was pushed hard by Bill Clinton, although it originated under Jimmy Carter. Asked about it the other day on one of the morning TV talk shows, Clinton said times back then were different. Fannie and Freddie had lots of money and he (in his infinite wisdom) decided that the money should not go to share holders or to executive compensation, but should be used to put the poor into homes.
Fannie and Freddie became big contributors to the Democratic Party. The sub-prime business paid off-at least while the bubble was growing. And the Kerry, Hillary and Obama campaigns have numbered among the leading recipients of the largess of the two mortgage lenders.
Franklin Raines, the Fannie Mae C.E.O. from 1999 to 2004, had been budget director in the Clinton administration. The left would not like you to be reminded that Raines has been a consultant to the Obama campaign, according to the Washington Post, and that Freddie and Fannie number among the top 5 contributors to Obama’s run for the presidency. Raines is being sued for the recovery of 50 million in compensation acquired by the alleged manipulation of Fannie’s books. Now, that’s not change we can believe in. That’s Washington as we have come to know and “love” it.
The Bush administration in 2003 tried to change the system, to no avail. Congressman Barney Frank, (D, MA ) was in the forefront of stopping the Bush proposal to take control out of Fannie and Freddie and put it into a third overseeing organization. Frank too has emerged in the current crisis as one of the major critics of the administration.
I am a DEMOCRAT and I can admit that the DEMS screwed up.

The Tina Fey skit is funny because it hits on the way Palin seems to thread unrelated responses together when answering a complex question. Palin is tough, and probably smart. She is not ready to be VP. The liberal media attack the GOP has used for years is just laughable.

McCain’s “stunts”, however, work. Palin got him a bounce, and support from his base, who’s vocal support for McCain now make it harder to back away if Palin drops out. Going to DC and saying he’d skip debate if he had did get House Republicans to the negotiating table, and did get people talking about his high risk/reward calculus.

Why isn’t ABC asking if Barack Obama is an embarrassmant or qualified to be PRESIDENT? Mr Obama has zero executive leadership experience, while Mrs Palin has served as Govenor and Mr Obama a junior senator for 2 years. Mr Obama is far less experienced than Mrs Palin and has a record of doing nothing. Can anyone name a single achievement in the Senate or ever he has accomplished? He is grossly unqualified to lead our country, while Mrs Palin is highly qualifed as a very popular and extremely effective change agent governor.

BTW, conservative bloggers who use the “in the tank” phrase are getting talking points from Fox and friends. The rest of us heard the McCain press releases last week too. Everyone is “in the tank” for Obama.
Could it be that McCain has lost some credibility though his own actions and decisions in this election? Ya know the personal responsibility thing the GOP uses as the cornerstone for arguing against social programs.

I am very troubled over how the mass media is covering Sarah Palin. It appears that in order to get access to the candidates or their representative’s the media has abdicated its role as neutral observers. There needs to be a total blackout of Sarah Palin until she agrees to explain where she stands on the issues in press conferences before it is too late. By continuing to diminish her ability to hold the office of the vice presidency, she has built a following based on her persona rather than her political ideology. This can be attributed to how she has been covered by the media.
It is irresponsible to keep voters uninformed during a presidential election. We don’t need to know about daily polls, we need to know a candidates political ideology so we can make informed decisions.
As a group the media facilitated the Iraq war and now it seems it will facilitate the voter rights to be kept informed.

It just doesn’t add up. To watch the interviews, she’s almost unintelligble. Forget about the Alaska popularity polls, how did she get to be highly ranked by other governors (both Dems and Reps)? I could give a better answer to the questions asked her, including how to deflect and not answer while still looking good.
I can’t help but wonder if they’ve been purposely setting a bad interview stage so that 1) she wasn’t subjected to Dem attacks leading up (who could kick someone when they’re down) and 2) debate expectations are so low that even a moderate performance would be well received.
More people will certainly be watching the debate than watched either interview. Could this all be designed to manipulate the media/voting populace?

While I usually disagree with anything Canadian on principal (read: Micheal Moore is an idiot) if an outsider from Canada sees this, why can’t the sheep-like Dems see it as well?
Are they so wrapped up in their hatred of anything that’s “not them” they can’t see the forest for the trees? I, a conservative, love Sarah Palin as a running mate. As far as bein in over her head, I think Obama’s got her beat ten times over.

Because this election isn’t about experience.
George Bush had executive experience and Cheney had foreign policy experience. And what has that done for us in the past 8 years? Nothing.
This election is about change, judgement, and temperament.
And that’s why Obama’s leading and leading in states that are RED states. That’s why McCain has dropped the “experience” motto for a motto of change.

“Why isn’t ABC asking if Barack Obama is an embarrassmant or qualified to be PRESIDENT?” Jenny perhaps as new and perhaps green as he is he still manages to look and behave Presidential than McCain ever dreamed of being. When faced with a crisis he is calm. he does not go red in the face, stamp his feet and threaten to fire someone who he has no control over. He also has good support/backup from Biden. McCain has Sarah Palin. She may be great in Alaska but she is in over her head big time. Katie Couric had her for lunch for heaven sakes. KATIE COURIC!!!!!! I actually think the burden is more on Joe Biden. Palin is such a featherweight but because she is a woman, Biden has to tread that delicate ground which demands that he makes her look weak but does not make himself bullyish or aggressive. That’s tough. I don’t envy his position at all.
Posted by: chris | September 29, 2008, 10:46 am 10:46 am
Obama is more qualified to be president than any other candidate in decades.
He lacks the experience of life-long stupidity that Bush brought to the White House.
He lacks the the experience of life-long marital infidelity that Clinton brought to the White House.
Obama has a life-long experience of public service, a law degree from Harvard University, 8 years of govermental experience and professor of Constitutional Law, a clear notion of the Consitutional separation of Church and State, and above all, the judgement and temperment of a leader.
Posted by: clifton | September 29, 2008, 10:47 am 10:47 am
Jenny, to answer your question, Obama has extensive legislation in the IL State senate. He passed bills for health care, earned income tax credit, video-taping all confessions and ethics reform. There are many more. But not much space. In the U.S. Senate he worked w/Coburn on nuclear poliferation. He passed the strictest ethics reforms bill in recent history. Once again that is only an example.
The issue is not just # of years in Washington. I am glad Obama has extensive local level experience that equips him to still be in touch w/the middle class.
Palin also has state level experince that allows her to see things from a middle-class point of view. That is not her issue. Her issue is that she is not knowledgable about national issues.
It is not about experience. It is about knowledge. Palin falls short.
Posted by: Stacey | September 29, 2008, 10:47 am 10:47 am
Typically the VP candidate is used to attack the other party’s candidate after debates and in other interviews. Biden was out after the debate praising his candidate and attacking McCain’s policies, Palin was not. This speaks volumes.

By the way it will also raise the ratings of the debate in a Roman feed her to the lions kind of way. Again, don’t you think that’s exactly what the GOP want? Because she will do fine in the debate. She may not “win”, but if she does, WOW! If she holds her own, she has won. Much like the judgement of Obama in Friday’s debate. Since Obama didn’t run screaming from the room, he won.
They are setting this up. I love it, but it’s pretty obvious.

in the debate she has to correctly step outside the talking points and the “cliff notes” version of “how to be leader of the free world”
and show her own logic and grasp of the details.
if she does not adeptly and detailed and correctly…
as Biden Obama, Clinton Mccain, and every other nationally known and semi nationally known politician has had to do every other day for the past year and a half in questions upon questions…
yes she loses.
it is about a detailed grasp of very very complicated and fragile situations we are dealing with…
if she can not discuss thes ein detail showing her own thought procvess…

Yes, where IS the MSM story regarding Obama’s “Truth Squad” tactics in Missouri.
Apparently local PROSECUTORS and POLICE OFFICERS in Missouri are being used by Obama Campaign to legally intidmidate anyone who makes false or misleading statements, or runs false or misleading ads regarding the Chosen One.
As a Senator from Illinois, what right does he have to attempt to run a police state in Missouri??
Can the MSM please do its job and cover this story?
I know if McCain was doing the same thing to Obama supporters, the media would be all over it…………..

dl,
Given the instability of McCain’s entire campaign, he cannot continue to head down a path that he knows is a dead end.
Palin having an unforseen emergency and having to bow out is quite likely. In fact, I’m expecting it.
Remember, McCain knows he will lose. He has to save face with conservatives when he heads back to the Senate. Right now, what Senator would want to be associated with him after he’s flip flopped on everything known to the Western world?

Palin is looking bad.I do hope she does not cry on thursday, this would really destroy her image as a politician. If she want’s to play in a mans world she has to be prepared. she should be able to handle all that is going her way. Forget sexism as an excuse. Hillary knew this, so Palin should stop requesting to be treated special. This is what has gained her the way they talk about her and laugh at her. Step down if you do not feel up to it, remember you have a family that needs you, do not put them in a situation they do not feel comfartable with.Politics are not worth it, they are dirty.

Ok dl, let’s work on facts for once. Sarah Palin:
1. A member of the Wasilla, Alaska, city council from 1992 to 1996 and mayor from 1996 to 2002. She ran because revenue from sales taxes were being wasted.
2. Served two terms as Mayor of Wasilla. She eliminated wasteful spending and reduced her own salary by 10%. She cut property taxes by 75% and eliminated personal property and business inventory taxes, she made improvements to the roads and sewers, increased funding to the Police Department, oversaw new bike paths
and procured funding for storm-water treatment to protect freshwater resources, then won reelection
with 74% of the vote and was elected president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors.
3. Chaired the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission from 2003 to 2004. She chaired the Commission beginning in 2003, and served as Ethics Supervisor. Palin resigned in January 2004, over the ethical lapses of fellow Republican members.
4. Elected governor of Alaska in November 2006, the youngest person to have been elected to the position, and Alaska’s first female governor. She was outspent by her opponent and won
nevertheless. As of September 2008, she has a 68% approval rating. In March 2007, Palin offered the Alaska Gasline Inducement Act (AGIA) to build a natural gas pipeline from the state’s North Slope to the Lower 48 through Canada. In 2007 she used her veto to reduce a 6.6 billion dollar
construction budget by removing 350 projects reducing the budget to 1.6 billion. During 2008, Palin’s decreased support for federal earmarks requesting $95 million to $150
million fewer earmarks or funding requests during each of her years in office.
And that’s the woman you and Tina label an idiot?
Barack Obama: leaves Harvard, joins Bill Ayers who makes him the lawyer for ACORN, wastes millions in funding from Annenberg while attempting to radicalize schools in Illinois, represents an organization indicted for voter fraud, accepts illegal contributions, uses thug candidates to
remove his opponents from political seats, and then the same tactics in Texas during the Presidential primaries. He barely serves any time in the Senate before abdicating his
responsibilities to a defense oversight committee to begin his run for the Presidency.
Somehow you think that makes him a better candidate than a man who
served honorably both in the military and the US Senate and a woman who by her own determination fought her own party to remove corruption and wasteful spending in her home State and became
its governor?
I’m not sure how you can make that case, dl. It doesn’t hold up when confronted with the facts.

I, a conservative, love Sarah Palin as a running mate.
————
Why? Aside from ONE sarcastic speech, that was filled with proven falsehoods, why?
What do you find in her “ability” that makes you “love” her as a VP candidate?
Sacrastic and sassy is how you qualify your choice?
How do you know anything about her? She won’t speak. Not to the press or the American public. You don’t find this questionable considering she says she’s qualified to lead the country?
Palin reads speeches, that’s it. When answering any question regarding her potential role as VP, she has failed miserably. She just parrots a bunch of generic platitudes that don’t answer the question.
I’m sure her deer in the headlights look when asked about issues that face our nation is just “media bias” right?

McCain has placed massive amounts of pressure of Caribou Barbie to perform with “putting it all on the line” with her first debate on a world stage.
Sad but true, if she rambled incessantly with Couric on the most clearest of questions, the oddmakers have her laying a giant goose egg for sure.
She won’t perform, Biden will sit back like a Cheshire Cat and let her ramble and dig her own grave. She will embarass not only McCain, but the entire GOP so much that they will demand she drop out.

He spits in the face of every Christain when he continues to say that he believes in Evolution(see the article that came out this month on CBS.com). Would you prefer a president who does not believe that God created the world or one who says they are for a woman’s right to choose? How hypocritical to say that McCain’s views line up better with the view of Evangelicals. Dr. Dobson had it right the first time when he said McCain is no conservative!

I agree that the media has been giving Palin a pass. But she has problems with the softball questions so no one want to really press her. She simply is a lightweight and unqualified.
That most serious conservatives commentators are aghast at Palin as well is not news.
McCain put himself above his country with this pick,. Nothing new there.
Posted by: DM | September 29, 2008, 11:49 am 11:49 am
Hey Len,
I want to help you with your facts:
You forgot to mention her tiny town was solvent when she took office. By the time she left, it was MILLIONS in debt.
But that’s Republican thinking. Lower taxes and just pass on the debt to the next guy. Very Bush-like. I see why you like her.
Gov Palin requested MORE EAR MARKS PER CAPITA than any other governor in the US. Sure, the dollar amouts were lower than some – but there’s only 650,000 people in the entire state!
Her approval rating as Gov has recently DROPPED 20%. Give it time and those approval ratings will be even lower.
She now considers herself above the law, and just Cheney and Bush, is ignoring supoenas that are part of a bi-partisan investigation.
“She chaired the Commission beginning in 2003, and served as Ethics Supervisor. Palin resigned in January 2004, over the ethical lapses of fellow Republican members.”…and this is a good thing?
And with regards to natural gas. Plain allowed the export of Alaskan natural gas and Alaska factories closed due to a lack of supply. Another example of catering to gas and oil companies and leaving the average worker without a job.
And her lack of credibility and knowledge in NATIONAL and INTERNATIONAL issues is the reason she is considered a joke.

That being said I believe that if the Bush admin. had’nt been so screwed up Obama would still be organizing communities, they gave this radical an opening. Palin has gotten the worst press from the bias mainstream papers and TV news outlets that I have ever seen, and on that point alone I will support her. I have a Mother, Wife, and three Daughters who have had to listen to the filthy, degrading remarks directed at her in full view of her Husband, Children, and all the other women of this country, if not the world. She’s been called everything from a disfunctional mother to a whore. Any one who can stand that vicious scrutiny of the for mentioned “NEWS” outlets has my vote. The McChicken Football team is getting blown out 52-7. His offense is stifled. His defense is getting schlacked. McCain as coach has just watched his quarterback get stapled to the field and is out of the game. What does he do?
Ok, Palin! You’re up!
She’s been watching her team get smashed the entire game and now gets to play in the 4th quarter. How will she perform? As expected, terribly. Especially, when she just made the JUNIOR VARSITY team. JV to Professional? Not likely. Even in Republican la la land.

this is what the mccain surrogates are out saying this morning
Pfotenhauer knows it, too, which must be why she describes the Couric interview as “a series of trapdoor questions.” That’s right! Asking Palin things like, “But can you give me any other concrete examples [of McCain's record of leadership on oversight]?” and “You’ve cited Alaska’s proximity to Russia as part of your foreign policy experience. What did you mean by that?” — those are some REALLY CAGEY TRAPS.
Anyway, the McCain camp is going to keep a close eye on this debate. As Pfotenhauer intimates, if moderator Gwen Ifill asks Palin too many foreign policy questions, she’s going to have to answer for it. And to think at one point, foreign policy was considered McCain’s strength!
the couric interview was a very easy interview… im sorry mccain camp she screwed it up

“actually len she gave herself a raise as governor”
She reduced the salary as Mayor. The City Council raised it. If she raised it as Governor, I haven’t found that. But if like most States, the legislature has to do that, you’ll need to check your facts.
As Governor, she dumped the jet, got rid of the chef, and drives home at night rather than taking the per diem for the hotel she is entitled to. Her per diem is 80% below those of the last governor.
This is a woman that has walked the walk, Bhrandon. Say what you like, next to Obama with that shady deal with his house, his dealings with Auchi and the rest, Palin is a saint.

Sunday morning on Meet The Press, McCain chief strategist Steve Schmidt trotted out one of John McCain’s tired old lies, the false claim that McCain had urged President Bush to fire Donald Rumsfeld.
The truth is that John McCain never urged Bush to fire Rumsfeld, nor did he call for his resignation.
Earlier this year, McCain aide Brian Rogers told the Washington Post:
“He did not call for his resignation,” said the campaign’s Brian Rogers. “He always said that’s the president’s prerogative.”
Although McCain did distance himself from Rumsfeld towards the end of Rumsfeld’s tenure, McCain has also heaped praise on him, saying that Rumsfeld and Cheney formed “the strongest” national security team in American history.

I would summarize the overall thrust of Couric’s questions and follow-ups this way: “OK, enough with the talking points that’ve been drilled into your head. Can you answer the questions with details and substance?”
There’s nothing “unfair” or “trapdoor” about that. Palin’s not running for town council, she’s running for VP of the US! She may be a great governor of a provincial state, but national politics demands other kinds of knowledge and skills.
Some superstar Triple A ball players completely fold when they make it to the majors. But they go back to Triple A and distinguish themselves there once again. Seems like the trajectory Palin’s on.

“As Governor, she dumped the jet,”
True
“got rid of the chef,”
False, the chef was given an new title.
“and drives home at night rather than taking the per diem for the hotel she is entitled to.”
This implies that she goes to the capital every day. She does not.
Collecting a per diem for living at home, while not the worst perk abuse, is not exactly something to be proud of.

Anyway, she is a pretty girl and I can tell you as a former pretty young thing myself all she needs to do in that debate is smile, look pretty, stroke the men’s egos and be just self-effacing enough to keep all the girls who aren’t so pretty from hating her. Why would the media like McCain/Palin? McCain has been the media darling for years and when he got behind in the polls, he needed a scapegoat. His chosen scapegoat was the media. The McCain/Palin camps have bullied the media relentlessly then cried foul when they aren’t given puff and fluff pieces only. The McCain camp brought this on themselves. They made this bed – now they need to sleep in it. I’m impressed with any reporter that can find something positive to say about them. Could you do that to a bully?

geevil has no defense for Miss Moosehide, so he resorts to attacks on Obama that have no basis in fact.

Nancy – Hate to burst your pious bubble:
A group of 61 Nobel Laureates have gotten together to endorse Barack Obama for President. This is the largest number of Nobel Laureates to ever endorse a candidate for office.
Per Gallup, Obama leads McCain by a significant margin among voters with the most education.

“Vote for the party the media hates.”
Don’t have to defend Ms. Palin, we know she is the best for the job, and why should we; she is only smeared…she will do fine in the debates.
Nancy:
You got it!!! Us republicans are out there working so the dems can sit and wait for a handout. Has been happening for the last 40 years. McCain is a threat.

We are more proud of Sarah Palin than before. She is surviving the hatchet job the DNC has done on her. We are more energized and behind Sarah and John McCain than ever before. We realize that Obama is a crook and involved in Fannie and Freddie and the democrats know it too. They know that if John McCain and Sarah Palin get to Washington, heads will roll and it will be theirs. The strategy behind the DNC trying to make republicans think that we no longer support her is backfiring. We are behind her more than ever.

I find it odd that a mediator for this board is removing posts, in particular, ones that seem to make good points in favor of Republicans… Hmmmm, there one minute, gone the next. God Bless America and the Constitution, unless you work for ABC News.

And there it went again, a removal of a post. Wow, they’re just busy little beavers at ABC News, aren’t they?

IF McCain were smart he would make history and change his VP choice.

Don’t know why we defend Sarah Palin, we all know how she is smeared. She is so human….most people on the street can’t put two words together for a sentence, and they question her intelegence.

Who is we? I’m a life-long republican and I’m NOT behind Sara Palin. I am infuriated with Sen. McCain for his choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate. I used to honor Sen. McCain as a hero and was in favor of him winning the presidency. Now I’m not so sure. I’m actually thinking of bowing out of the voting process come November. I cannot see myself voting Palin into office when she’s that close to the presidency, yet I certainly cannot vote the democratic ticket either. I’m at a complete loss on how to proceed. I’m utterly disappointed.

Saturday Night Live has never been funnier!! Ms. Fay characterizes Sara Palin to a “T”.

Why weren’t the jobs so important when your party had wonderful things to say about Palin? Was everyone in your party slacking on their jobs when they were ferociously blogging about how glorious Palin was?

This election will end McCain and Palin’s political careers. McCain because he’s turned into a raving lunatic and is nothing like he once was. Palin because she’s shown that she is a horrible speaker and her skeletons will come back to haunt her. I don’t even think Alaska will elect her to another term in office, if she loses the presidential election. You heard it from Rick first, McCain and Palin’s political carers end on 11/4/2008.

I am just reading the National Revue of September 29, 2008 and I don’t see any such article or comment by either of the names credited with it here today (above) “. . . that conservatives are embarrassed by Palin. . . ” Please correct that notice unless you can substantiate it

“I am just reading the National Revue of September 29, 2008 and I don’t see any such article or comment by either of the names credited with it here today”
Probably because it was originally published Sept 27th.
That’s what that hyperlink goes to.

Thank GOD Palin is no Hillary. Palin is a real American, not a big time crook politician. At least not yet. Billary will not let Obama win the white house. They know McCain is one and done and they want to get back to the business of ruling the world.
Obama is an underqualified hack spoon fed from teleprompters.

Um Conservativeness, Sarah Palin is actually under investigation for being a crook, along with her husband. And I come from regular people (farmer, housewife), but if you asked them to name a few supreme court decisions, they could certainly come up with more than one. I bet you could too. Sarah Plain could not. I know this is politically incorrect, but I also do not know a single mother who would run for office while she had a special needs baby and a vulnerable teenager in trouble. Not one mother – from any background, color, religion…. there’s only one word to describe a decision like that – ruthless. And don’t tell me its personal. If you’re running for political offfice, it’s about character and the Republican candidate for VP has none.

Brenda: I don’t know who you think “we” includes, but Sarah Palin’s approval ratings are way, way below everyone else’s. They are at 10%. This means only 10% of Americans approve of Sarah Palin.

Sarah, step down. Your family needs you. Your party does not. Fantasy time is over.

bombem: Sarah Palin has been treated like a wilting camelia by the press. She has given almost no press conferences. She has given very few interviews. Katie Couric was unbelievably kind after her completely inane and embarassing answers to simple questions an 18-year old should be able to answer. No one has asked if her husband loves this country – the way they did with Obama – and if you look at the AIM website, believe me, you’ll have a question or two about that. No one in the mainstream press has asked her if she believes in witchcraft or sorcery – after she was annointed by an abosolute nutcase. She is under investigation – but no one is allowed to ask questions about that. She makes up policy credentials – and the McCain campaign cries wolf when she either lies or says “I’ll get back to ya on that.” She is virtually the last politician I would like my 17 year old to model herself after – a woman without integrity, without experience, without honor, who expects to get by on being cute and, when it serves her, lying or being vicious. John McCain had his choice of wonderful women. He chose the weakest one he could find – to make himself look good. The problem isn’t the press. the problem is Palin.

I thought I was going to need reconstructive surgery on my turso after bursting my side laughing at Sarah Palin’s interview with K.C. Then to top it off, SNL just nailed her!! I’m definitely going to need a better healthcare plan to make it to Nov. 4th. I’m deliriously impaired. Whoo hoo..ha ha … whoo hoo.!!!

Conservatives who are uncomfortable with the McCain/Palin ticket, and can’t stomach voting for Obama – You may want to check out
He’s got some good protectionist tendencies, and I don’t see him calling for socializing Wall Streets losses- We need more than two choices that’s for sure.

I don’t understand how people can possibly think that Palin is a viable candidate for VP. It boggles the mind. Everyday common sense doesn’t only suggest but screams that she is vastly under-qualified, which nullifies any thoughts I entertained of voting for McCain / Palin. I find it frustrating to see so many people bragging about their intelligence and then miss-spelling, using improper grammar and, ironically, supporting Palin. She may very well be an intelligent woman but she is not qualified for this job and is certainly unqualified for the Presidency, should the need arise. Supporting someone because of party is understandable although, in this case, foolish. The ticket is simply not who I would “hire” to run the country I love so much.
